Welcome to Season 2 of Across the Board Podcast, hosted by Armani, Blair, Kelsie, Juliet, and Marjan! In this episode, we speak on why it’s important to vote, emphasizing the powerful effects of exercising your right to vote, including impacts on public safety, healthcare, the justice system, women’s rights… and the list goes on. We share our candid thoughts on why people don’t vote, then touch on the history and significance of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the 19th Amendment, which declares women’s right to vote.
This is our lives we’re talking about. We must educate ourselves about our community leaders and the leaders of our country. Instead of talking about how we like or don’t like certain candidates, let’s talk about each candidate's actions and how those actions have impacted history and how they will impact our future.
This election is extremely important, so vote like your life depends on it!
