Podcast #30 is about the hearing that has been on the news and all other media for the last few weeks, the defamation civil suit hearing that plaintiff Johnny Depp has brought against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Their divorce was final in 2016, and since then Amber Heard has regaled the media with tales of physical and mental abuse by Johnny Depp against her. This has caused production companies and movie studios to stop filming with Johnny Depp or use him in their cast, and even removed him from a recurring role in a franchise with many millions as an actor. Hence, the lawsuit from Mr. Depp against Ms. Heard for damages in the amount of fifty million dollars, or what Mr. Depp would have made in the roles offered to him, which he can prove, if not for the allegations of abuse made by Ms. Heard which are not true.
Currently, Johnny Depp’s law team has brought forth convincing evidence that it’s not Mr. Depp that is abusive, but Ms. Heard. Numerous examples of histrionic and abusive behavior, physically and mentally to almost anyone who spends time with Ms. Heard have been presented, but mostly on Mr. Depp. Clear evidence of physical violence and abuse by Ms. Heard on Mr. Depp has been demonstrated and entered into evidence over a protracted period of time and on numerous occasions. It was also clear that Mr. Depp did not wish to make any of these incidences public. Also obvious are the psychological issues diagnosed by licensed psychologists for Ms. Heard, borderline personality disorder (mistakenly labeled as “bipolar” by Millennial Z and Boomer X at one point) and histrionic personality disorder as reported by Reuters news and stated by forensic clinical psychologist appointed by the court, Shannon Curry. The claimed PTSD by Ms. Heard as reasons for her violence and fabrication of stories supporting her behavior was dismissed by the psychologist as a non-issue.
Multiple documented incidents of Johnny Depp requiring medical attention and consultation with his physician due to contusions to the face and eye would have been enough to typically cause a report of domestic violence by medical staff and follow-up law enforcement investigation had the sex roles been reversed, but definitely when trips to the emergency room requiring stitches occurred. The first time physical violence occurred against him, Boomer X would have been out, relationship over. But Millennial Z said it was defecation in the bed by Ms. Heard that was beyond the pale for him and showing her mental state as well as purposeful action to incite him and create problems for him.
Regardless, this was an interesting discussion that allowed many experiences to be touched upon, and Ms. Heard will be presenting her side of the facts and evidence soon. Then there will be cross-examination.
