Uplift your life.
Listen and listen wellchampions, whether you have
(01:09):
faith in God, faith in theuniverse or faith in itself,
take control of what you consumeand stimulate growth.
You are what you consume.
The new station, you watch themusic.
You listen to the reality TV.
You watch who you follow onsocial media.
(01:30):
The food you eat and the companythat you keep.
In my younger years.
I didn't have the mentalcapacity to analyze how my
emotions were affected by what Ilistened to or what I watched on
television.
It wasn't until August of 2005that I realized how watching the
(01:50):
news completely changed my moodand emotions for the entire day.
August, 2005 was the year.
Hurricane Katrina hit newOrleans.
I lived in Indiana at the timeand each morning.
I turned on the news and withtears in my eyes, compassion in
my heart, like many others, Iwatch with devastation and
(02:13):
heartache this feeling ofhelplessness because.
There wasn't much I could do.
I also felt anger as I watchedhow the media portrayed
survivors as looters and ashelicopters were recording
safely in the sky while peopledown below were on bridges,
flagging them for help.
(02:34):
It was in these moments that Iwas angry at the media, but I
kept watching day after day, even though I hadn't experienced
the trauma, the survivors in newOrleans were experiencing.
I still fell deep intodepression.
This was at a time.
I hadn't been healed from mystruggle with depression.
(02:55):
So it was easy for anything tobe a trigger.
But day after day, I keptwatching.
I kept feeling helpless, hopeless, and angry.
I would constantly talk about itand discuss the scenes on the
news.
I wouldn't discuss withcoworkers, family, and friends.
The world was consumed with it,but somehow I felt so personally
(03:19):
involved with it.
It consumed my thoughts, myconversations, my prayers.
The most detrimental aspect tomy health.
Was that the news coverageconsumed my emotions.
I chose.
This example.
As my real life experience.
(03:39):
Because it was the first time Iwas actually able to reflect on
my own about what was causing mydepression.
One day.
I turned on the news and my mindwas actually anticipating the
stress and anxiety.
Sure enough, the news cameraflashed on a scene and I
(04:00):
instantly welled up with tears.
I couldn't even muster up theenergy to go to work that day.
After I called in sick.
I turned off the television andprayed.
It was after my prayer that Irealized I can't watch this
anymore.
I realized the media and newscoverage had temporarily.
(04:23):
Taken over my life.
I also realized that I could notcontrol the tragedy that had
taken place in new Orleans.
I could not physically.
Uh, emotionally or monetarily.
Help the survivors of hurricaneKatrina.
I was defeated.
I couldn't keep watching.
(04:43):
It was in 2005 that I decided Iwould limit my consumption of
news media.
Eventually, I just stoppedwatching the news.
It took me a couple months tofully recover from my depressive
state because everyone was stilltalking about it.
So I was, you know, I also hadto limit my conversations about
(05:04):
it.
Later.
I learned even more about howthe news media shapes our
thoughts.
When local news constantlycovers crime.
It causes people to live in fearof being in a mass shooting,
being robbed shot, kidnapped oreaten by animals.
Years ago.
(05:25):
I watched a documentary aboutCanadians.
Don't live in as much fearsimply because Canadian news.
Does it cover crime?
They also don't have theseverity of copycat crimes.
I don't know if this still holdstrue or not.
But it makes sense.
(05:45):
Which brings me to the reason Icringe when I saw the series
about Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix,I immediately thought, oh, no,
someone that has a mentalcapacity to be a serial killer
is going to watch the series andadmiration, have the courage to
do a copycat crime.
Sure enough, it happened.
In fact, the United Statesmilitary uses violent video
(06:09):
games to train and prepare ussoldiers to kill.
Understanding that if soldiersare constantly consuming and
acting.
The act of killing.
It would be sensitized them.
So that they'll be able to kill.
On the battlefield.
Music.
We love music.
(06:30):
Many of us enjoy feel goodmusic, inspiring music,
uplifting music.
We shall overcome music.
On the plantation slaves withsing songs of freedom, with
hopes to soon become free.
Songs and music inspired, hopeand comfort to the enslaved
people.
(06:51):
We love Marvin Gaye and Tammy toreal Stevie wonder James Brown,
many represent.
Music consumption from up untilthe late eighties, music was
about empowerment.
Peace unity, love and lovemaking male singers would
profess their love and professtheir heart to women.
(07:13):
Women were respected in musicand love with something to be
adored in music.
Even in the early eighties.
LL cool.
J was still needing love.
He wrote a rap about it.
I need love.
Do you remember it?
(07:34):
I remember men were stillsinging serenades at talent
shows.
Women were being respected, loved, and adored and songs.
Music was inspiring.
Groups of people were beingempowered to spread peace and
love in their communities.
Bob Marley, United rivalpolitical parties in Jamaica on
(07:55):
stage at his one love peaceconcert in 1978.
Music is powerful.
Hip hop lyrics.
Lyricists we're forces ofconsciousness and knowledge in
the eighties, queen Latifa.
You're when I T Y U and I T Y asin unity, so many others.
(08:17):
But then.
Gangster rap hit the scene.
And there.
Are also many of us that enjoymusic that promotes violence.
And hate.
And depression.
Consumption of gangster rap hadthe opposite effect.
In fact, there has never been aban on gangster rap because it
(08:39):
encourages killing anddestroying black communities.
We'll wait, um, NWA, there was aban on.
If the police yeah.
They be in that cause they don'twant that.
Right.
Gangsta rap is about promotingmoney and riches over women.
Gangsta rap suggest that womencan be trusted and are unlovable
(09:01):
humans.
It promoted materialism, consumerism as self hate.
Gangster rappers were and arehurt humans using the creativity
of music.
To cope from their pain andsharing stories of their
traumatic life in the streets.
Which also unconsciously hurtsothers in their communities.
(09:22):
The music industry has madebillions from the struggles of
young men and women in thegangster rap industry.
Uh, selective few of thegangster rappers are still alive
today.
And if they are successful nowthey have shifted into a
lifestyle of the rich andfamous.
No longer struggling on thestreets, but that doesn't change
(09:44):
the impact their music had whenit was being consumed.
In their neighborhoods.
They still may be mistreatingwomen though.
But the point is the music welisten to and consume has had
the ability to shape wholecommunities.
Music is so powerful.
It also has the ability to causeriots.
(10:06):
I remember in college at a houseparty and the song tear, the
club started playing and in adrunken rage, we all actually
tore up that person's wholehouse.
We tore the whole house up.
The power of what we wereconsuming in music.
Reality television reality.
But not reality, but taken asreality and shaping our
(10:29):
behavior.
I started watching reality TVwith the real world on MTV.
But stop watching it when thereal Housewives came on.
I could not consume the fights, the mist, the drama, the
backstabbing, the fake friends, the fake, everything, the
realist fakest thing you couldever watch on television.
Once again, promoting negativetoxic relationships as reality,
(10:54):
the industry makes billionswhile our consumption promotes
materialism consumerism.
And self-hate.
Plastic surgeon salary increasedue to the promotion of body
shaming.
Women were hating each other asif it was the best thing to do.
How will our young ladies learnthe power of true friendship?
(11:15):
I'm so thankful that we didn'tconsume this type of reality
television.
When I was in school, I wouldnot know how to be a real
friend.
Good thing.
I learned about genuinefriendship from watching Sesame
street.
Which then brings us to what weconsume on our social media
pages.
(11:36):
Facebook.
Used to be.
Only our friends and family.
Or classmates, because I thinkit originally started on a
college campus.
We may have saw some sad postoccasionally.
But we were still in a state ofmind what we would call and
check on someone.
If they posted something alittle upsetting.
(11:58):
We were still being personableback in the early stages of
social media.
But then there was a shift.
There was a political shift.
When politicians realized theycan manipulate bolts.
By social media consumption.
Then, of course there is theadvertising and marketing
promoting more materialism andmore consumerism.
(12:18):
So now tech companies haverealized the benefits of
algorithms.
We unknowingly become slaves toour social media pages.
We have allowed robots andcontrol what we consume control
our political views, control theproducts we use control the way
we look with filters control.
(12:38):
What we see in who we can followor unfollow.
Tik TOK completely changed thegame.
We are so consumed with thealgorithm, Tik TOK.
That we may spend hours engagedwith scrolling and consuming.
We are procrastinating with ourown goals.
We get satisfaction by watchingan influencer.
(13:00):
Show their daily routine.
So much so.
Our daily routine becomes justwatching them organize their
whole living space.
And our living space isdisorganized and in shambles.
It's time for change and growth.
I'm never want to judge and tellyou to stop doing this and stop
(13:21):
doing that.
I only suggest that you limitand reshape your behavior for
positive change and growth.
There has to be some sort ofresilience.
In your growth mindset.
Now that we know how the newstation you watch, the music,
you listen to.
The reality TV you watch, whoare, what you follow on.
(13:43):
Social media has a direct impacton the type of life you live.
We can now understand theimportance of how to reshape
your consumption for positivechange.
As promised we are going tostart the practice of reshaping,
your consumption to uplift yourlife.
(14:04):
Let's reshape.
First the news.
Some of us wake up in Washingtonnews.
I suggest that you set your newsstation to the weather channel.
If you absolutely have to knowwhat's going on in the world,
download a news app on yourphone and set specific alerts.
Try to avoid crime or worldtragedy alerts.
(14:27):
Let your friends update you onthose things, but don't let it
start your morning.
It's detrimental to your mentalhealth.
The music.
Some of us have been listeningto the same music for decades.
If the music you listened to isusually about someone else's
struggles, pain, drama, or theirgangster.
(14:48):
That music is cool to listen towhen you're hanging out at a
kickback.
However, it's not the best musicto listen to when you're
starting your day.
Not good to listen to if you'redepressed, stressed, or having a
bad day.
It appears to be comfortingbecause it's your favorite
artists.
But you're actually hurting, nothelping by consuming it during
(15:12):
trying times.
Think of it as like a musictrauma bond.
Okay.
Yes, you can relate to theirstruggle, but you don't have to
keep reliving it.
Be open to expand your listeningexperience to something smooth.
Explore smooth jazz in themorning.
If you like to get hype, playyour favorite dance, twerk, or
(15:35):
positive hype music in themorning.
If you've had a bad day at work, play something that lifts your
spirits.
We are in the world of musicstreaming.
It's not like years ago when wecould only listen to the radio
or the CDs that we have, we candownload stream and play any
type of music at any time fromany era.
(15:57):
I suggest the seventies, greatmusic was made in the seventies.
Challenge yourself to comparethe shift and changes from music
areas.
Also try not to listen to musicfrom artists that manifest their
own deaths or someone else'sdeath.
I don't even have to explain whythat shifts your energy to a
(16:18):
negative state.
Allow your music selections touplift your emotions and your
energy.
The television.
If you find yourself constantlywatching drama, field television
shows, and then you notice youalso have drama in your life
between your friends and dramaat work.
(16:40):
You might be a victim ofnegative television consumption.
You have identified yourselfwith one of your favorite
characters and you haveaccidentally become them.
We are human.
It is natural for us to connectwith the character that we
admire or feel similar tostrangely.
We can also connect with thecharacter that we don't like.
(17:02):
So we may meet someone in reallife that reminds us of that
character and unconsciously.
We project our disliked to thatperson.
Yes.
This is a real thing.
No, it isn't healthy or fair.
Be open to choose a show likerun's house instead of the real
Housewives.
It's real.
(17:23):
Reverend I'm still on the air.
What are Diggy resi, Angela andVanessa doing now.
Uh, I don't know.
You get my point.
If you like documentaries.
Watch the health and wellnessdocumentaries, and not so much
of the murder crime is scandal.
Documentaries.
Be open to reshape what youconsume and stream on
(17:43):
television.
Reshape your television shows towatch shows that teach you
something or inspire a morepeaceful, healthy lifestyle.
The social media.
ID activated my Facebook fouryears ago.
It was such a beautiful mentaland emotional freedom.
(18:04):
It's so hard to explain, but itis so worth it.
Facebook app.
Makes you keep the messengerapp.
So I actually have a familygroup chat and a couple friend
group chats on messenger thathelps me keep in touch with
friends and family now.
I know someone is thinking, ah,I am now.
I'm not deactivated my Facebook.
(18:25):
I suggest you take breaks fromit from time to time.
If you can't completely give itup instagram.
If you have a fear of giving upInstagram, then just shift your
Instagram, shifted to changeyour algorithm.
I challenge you to create a newInstagram page and only follow
your positive interest or followpages relating to your life
(18:47):
goals or hobbies, whatever it isthat you've been wanting to
learn.
For example, I still have myoriginal Instagram page, but I
don't use it.
I created a new Instagram pageand only added my extremely
close friends and family.
It's my travel page.
I only follow pages relating tomy plant-based eating habits.
(19:08):
Wellness mental healthbusinesses that I support.
once again, those mental healthpages.
The algorithm only shows methings.
I enjoy like plant-basedrecipes.
Wellness means and products thatI will be willing to buy.
Unfortunately, we can't stop theadvertising.
I suggest you do this and watchhow fast your energy will shift
(19:30):
by making the algorithm workingin your favor for your mental
health.
The good thing is you don't loseyour old page.
You're just not consuming thosesame old things anymore.
Listen to podcasts like thisone, they help you learn and
grow.
You can reshape your socialmedia to consume all things that
will uplift and inspire yourgrowth.
(19:53):
The food.
It's cliche.
You are what you eat.
You are what you consume, youeat junk well.
Hmm.
You eat a lot of high fattyfoods.
You gain fat.
You eat a lot of sugar.
Your body gets overwhelmed andgives you sugar, diabetes,
because it's no longer able toprocess all that sugar.
(20:16):
I'm not going to go through allthe benefits of reshaping, what
you consume by your eatinghabits.
Listen to my session by podcast, creating healthy workout, meaty
habits.
This will help you reshape youreating habits.
Healthy foods, healthy life, lean foods, lean body.
The people.
The people in your life and evenin our work relationships, if
(20:41):
you are only listening to thesame group of people with the
same complaints, your reality isonly shaped by those complaints
and you're not willing to seeother sides.
If you're only consuming theabuse of just your inner
circles.
You won't be able to expand yourmind to understand, or even have
(21:03):
empathy for the others.
The quote, if you keep blockingwith the chickens, you'll never
be able to store with the Eaglesor something like that.
Be open to explore other friendgroups, other work
relationships, otherenvironments that you are least
likely to attend.
Be open to immerse yourself intoa culture.
(21:24):
Other than your own.
Learning about other cultures, other people, and listening is
sharing stories with othersoutside of your circle will
reshape your views, address yourbiases and increase your
knowledge.
If you have a new hobby or newentrepreneurial side hustle,
you're thinking about find agroup of like-minded individuals
(21:45):
and go hang out with them, listen and learn from them.
B M person social.
Reshape your friend and workrelationships and groups.
It's okay to have differentfriend groups we gotta be done
with no new friends.
Make this the year to meet newpeople, understand the
definition of these two wordsand the context of what we are
(22:07):
consuming, the definition of theword religiously and the
definition of the wordconditioned.
The definition of the wordreligiously.
Something.
One believes in and followsdevotedly appoint or matter of
ethics or conscience.
When you religiously consumecertain things is shaped who you
(22:29):
are.
This is why cult leaders takeyou out of your current
environment and force you intoan environment where folks are
only able to learn and consume.
What's being taught by theleader.
No outside sources allowed.
This allows power control andmastering the minds of
followers.
The definition of the word.
Condition.
(22:49):
Characterized by a predictableor consistent pattern of
behavior or thought.
As a result of having beensubjected to certain
circumstances or conditions.
Those two words are veryimportant when you're
understanding your mindset andwhy you behave.
The way you behave based on whatyou consume.
(23:12):
Hey, you.
The champion for life changes.
I'm challenging you to be open,to change where you're
consuming, which will allow youto practice new thoughts, new
actions, and create new lifeexperiences.
This will allow you to createmore great life experiences and
be open to explore new things inyour current life.
Everything you consume becomesyour thoughts, and if it's
(23:35):
negative thoughts, it will evokenegative actions.
If it's positive thoughts, itwill evoke positive actions.
Acknowledged that you maycurrently be in a conditioned
state of mind.
Based on your past lifeexperiences.
I know someone is thinking.
I've already started consumingpositive things and I read
positive things, but somehow mythoughts won't change my mind.
(23:58):
Won't shift.
I still have negative thoughts.
I still have some forms ofanxiety.
Don't be discouraged.
This just means that you haveinternalized and been
conditioned by your negativethoughts to heal from it.
You have to do some emotionalwork that involves you to
forgive every person in yourlife that spoke those negative
(24:19):
words to you.
Forgive your parents, siblings, relatives, friends, boyfriend,
girlfriend, husband, or wife.
And yourself for actuallyfalsely believing the negative
self-talk.
Those false beliefs and thoughtsare overpowering, what you're
consuming.
So your mind is actually beingcontrolled based on your false
(24:40):
beliefs about yourself.
Your brain is rejecting theexternal new truths.
This is common and has happenedto the best of us.
In fact, When I was working myway out of a depressive state of
mind.
I had the same issue.
I struggled with severedepression.
From about my seventh gradethrough high school.
(25:00):
Also, my first year of college Ihad extreme postpartum
depression.
My depression was so severe thatwhen I think back to my mindset
at those times when I wasdepressed, it's almost like.
I was in a 12 year nightmarethat I had to awaken from.
I'm so grateful that I woke upout of the nightmare of
(25:21):
depression.
By grace.
I made it out alive.
And I'm so serious when I saythat.
But anyways.
I was listening to gospel andinspirational music.
I stopped watching negativenews.
I was still struggling withnegative self thoughts.
I was removing negative peoplefrom my life.
I was seeing a therapist.
I was doing everything I neededto do, but I still felt like I
(25:43):
was wearing a mask to hide thepain.
I still didn't feel well.
This is when I startedpracticing the art and practice
of redirecting my negativethoughts and limiting beliefs.
Until it became a habit.
The practice is a form ofPsycho-Cybernetics.
This was a constant, repetitive, conscious habit.
(26:06):
Of redirecting all of mynegative thoughts.
Each time I thought would go toyou.
Aren't worthy.
You are smart enough.
You don't have the skills you'reugly.
You will always be depressed.
Happiness is not for you.
You are a procrastinator.
You will never be able to affordthose things.
I would instantly do a thoughtrebuttal.
(26:28):
With positive words ofaffirmation.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
I am beautiful.
You will soon come out of thisdepressive state.
You will create, you will createyour own happiness.
You will accomplish goals.
You will soon be able to live inabundance.
If you, over-consume yourthoughts with the thought I'm
(26:48):
having anxiety.
This gives me anxiety startchanging and redirecting your
thoughts.
Take action by saying.
This used to give me anxiety.
But I'm in control of myanxiety.
I can control and manage mytriggers.
If you consume your thoughtsthat with I'm a procrastinator.
(27:11):
If you believe what youover-consume, your brain will
acknowledge it as a truth.
Redirect your procrastinatorthought to I'm no longer a
procrastinator.
I take action when needed andI'm going to finish the task in
a timely manner.
And then progress.
Think about the things you areconsuming regularly.
(27:33):
What's keeping you in a stepmindset.
What is keeping you fromredirecting your thought?
What's keeping you in a world ofdrama and stress.
What's keeping you in adepressed state.
Whatever it is tackle andconfront it with intention and
purpose.
Tackle it.
(27:55):
You have to confront it, not runfrom it.
Facia problems.
Don't Facebook, your problems.
Okay, because of this, it is soimportant to be aware of what
you speak to young children andteens, because what they
consume.
It also shapes their internalizethoughts.
As a mother mentor and educator,I refuse to tell children they
(28:20):
aren't good at something, or Idon't tell them that they can't
accomplish a goal.
We must never use negative andlimiting language towards youth.
Because they quickly internalizeit as a truth about who they
are, this forces them to limitthemselves when they reach
adulthood, which is probablywhat happened to you.
(28:41):
Hurtful words do hurt, just likethe sticks and stones that break
bones.
Hurtful words are unkind andbreak young minds that rhymes.
Uh, religiously create positivethoughts in your mind that
create your reality.
You have the choice to elevateyour mind by opening up to
consume everything that promotesyour growth.
(29:03):
You also have the choice to staywhere you are.
Someone listening has refused todo something because they may be
worried about what someone else.
May think about you.
Don't limit yourself because ofsomeone else's judgment or view.
If it's not hurting anyone.
I do.
What makes you happy?
So you don't have regrets laterin life?
No, could've, should've,would've be intentional.
(29:25):
Right now.
All right.
When I first moved to Houston.
Students had left the fifth wardenvironment.
They didn't see the benefits ofHouston.
They would ask miss, why don'tyou choose Houston?
There isn't anything here.
They have only experienced theirneighborhood.
So they were not aware of thegreatness, the restaurants, the
(29:48):
experiences outside of theirhood.
It made me think of Plato'sallegory of the cave.
If you're chained in a cave andall you see is shadows.
You fear leaving the cave toexperience the world on the
other side of the Cape.
Someone breaks free and sees thebeauty outside of the cave.
They come back to the cave andtry to free the others from the
(30:11):
shackles.
And they think he's crazy.
There are lots of movies createdwith that same format, like the
matrix.
If you watched it years ago, rewatched the matrix again.
With your new mindset.
It's amazing.
If you have become accustomed tothe shadows in the cave that you
(30:33):
are in, and you are afraid tobreak free from the shackles and
experience life outside of thecave, you will never see how far
you can thrive.
Be the person that is resilient.
And navigate life without fear.
I come out of the cave shift outof the mindset.
Watch what you consume.
(30:55):
Experienced life experiences.
Here's a quick story of a lifeexperience.
someone that stepped outside oftheir comfort zone to explore.
Quick story about Chuck Collins, the great grandson of the
founder of Oscar Meyer meatprocessing.
He grew up.
And a privileged and wealthyfamily.
(31:16):
He was conditioned to believethat the less fortunate people
in America were lazy, peoplethat were wanting to tax the
rich so that they didn't have towork.
He was conditioned to believethat taxing the rich was wrong
and was dangerous.
They must choose the politicalparty that would protect their
wealth.
This shaked, his belief thatpeople in poverty based on his
(31:37):
privilege environment.
It wasn't until you had theopportunity to volunteer
outside.
Of his privilege environmentwhen he realized that a lot of
less fortunate people were notlazy and actually worked
extremely hard, but made lessmoney.
And we're also being text.
(31:59):
He also realized that before hehad ever worked a real job, he
made approximately$20,000 a weekor more from his inheritance.
While volunteering.
He notices on an applicationthat a person worked over 40
hours a week and only made about$20,000 in one year.
Versus him getting about$20,000in a week.
(32:23):
Just a small timeframe outsideof his privileged.
Environment shifted his mindset.
And his reality.
Don't be afraid to step outsideyour comfort zone for awareness
and growth.
He later worked.
To help out with social justiceissues and concerns and any
quality initiatives.
(32:44):
He even donated some of hisinheritance to some foundation
or something.
If you've been raised in a toxicenvironment and you always see
the same situation and you'reforced to be.
Conditioned to think the samethings.
You consume it and it becomeswho you are.
You have the power to shift it.
(33:06):
Champions challenge yourself toconsume and experience something
different.
In different environments.
If you have a bad experience, ask yourself what you learned
from it.
But if you have a goodexperience, ask yourself how you
can make it more exciting.
We have a world of knowledge atour fingertips now on our
smartphones.
If you want to learn somethingnew.
(33:27):
Manipulate the algorithm foryour knowledge and success
mechanism.
Let that be everything that youconsume.
Never believed that you're tooold to learn something.
If you over consume anything atany age, you can master it.
If you want to learn a newlanguage.
Temporarily change yourenvironment and relocate to the
(33:48):
country that speaks the languageyou want to learn, immerse
yourself into the culture.
This is way easier for us to donow, because if you work
virtually you can be a digitalnomad and work anywhere in the
world.
If you're an educator, you canteach abroad or you can study
abroad.
If you're a student, there areno limits to your greatness.
(34:09):
You have the power to changeyour environment and consume new
environments.
When we reflect.
Athletes and celebrities thatare the greatest at their
profession.
Listen to their stories.
You quickly realize they choseto place themselves and
environment for over consumptionof their talent.
(34:31):
Michael Jordan.
Kobe Bryant as athletes, DenzelWashington, Samuel Jackson, as
actors, Michael Jackson, andprince as musicians, Viola
Davis, and Betty Davis asactresses, Venus, and Serena
Williams as athletes, ArethaFranklin and Beyonce as
musicians, then there's the billgates and the Oprah Winfrey's.
(34:52):
There are stories of greatness, all sound the same.
They religiously consumed allthings related to their passion
and talent, whatever.
It is that you want to master, set yourself up to consume it
religiously.
Whether it's mental healthgoals.
A new hobby, a new sport musicreach your level of greatness by
(35:15):
consuming all things related toyour future success.
There are no age limits to this, consume it and take action,
recondition, your oldconditioned way of thought.
Reading is fundamental for braindevelopment and mind growth.
So each week.
I promote an author.
(35:37):
This week I'm promoting.
Kobe Bryant.
Colby Brian's book titled Mambamentality.
After every game.
Hoby Bryant we'll go back andwatch every game he played.
He would over-consume the gamefootage.
He would watch his plays.
He will watch the other teamsplays.
He would watch the referees.
(35:58):
He was consumed with all thingsbasketball and became one of the
greatest basketball players.
We have to reflect and admirehis greatness.
And the words of Coby Brian, hestates.
Hard work, outweighs talent.
Every time he added mamamentality.
Is about 4:00 AM workouts doingmore than the next guy.
(36:21):
And then trusting in the workyou've put in when it's time to
perform without studyingpreparation of practice, you're
leaving the outcome to fate.
I don't do fake.
Those are the words of KobeBryant.
He also had the five pillars ofhis legendary mindset.
Here's the five pillars, onepassion to obsession.
(36:42):
Three relentlessness forresiliency and five
fearlessness.
Here's another Kobe Bryant.
Quote.
It's not about the number ofhours you practice.
It's about the number of hoursor mind is present during the
practice.
This quote is directly relatedto how powerful our mind is as
(37:05):
it relates to achieving our bestself.
The book Mamba mentality is notjust a book about becoming a
great athlete.
It's a book that encourages amindset shift and ways to
achieve greatness in all aspectsof your life.
Grab the book, read it.
The link to the book will be inmy podcast notes.
(37:28):
You are now a champion forhealing and change.
Here are four quick recaps ofclarification and understanding.
Listen and listen.
Well, champions recap, one.
What you consume to uplift yourlife is as simple as making a
conscious choice to change whatyou choose to consume and what
(37:49):
you allow in your thoughts andsubconscious mind.
Choose wisely.
I took a memory class incollege.
And one of the study tips is tostudy your material and then
take a nap and sleep.
So it's on your mind and yourbrain will naturally retain more
of what you studied the sameconcept.
(38:09):
If you allow your child to watcha horror movie before going to
sleep, the child will have anightmare.
So be open to reshape what youconsume from media movies and
convert your social mediaalgorithms to cater to your
positive hobbies goals andstrengthening your mental
health.
Also continue to listen to mine.
Elevating podcasts.
My favorites are.
(38:30):
I get my stock marketinformation from T boy T B O Y
podcast in the mornings on myway to work on the way home from
work.
I stay up to date with the realestate market by listening to
black real estate dialoguepodcasts.
When I go on runs, I listened toSpartan up podcast.
And every Monday I listened tothe hidden brain podcast.
(38:50):
My all-time favorite podcast isa school of greatness podcast.
Always feed your brain withgreatness and knowledge.
It keeps away those negativethoughts.
Recap to.
Music has been used toconsciously and unconsciously
conditioned the minds of humansand our emotions for decades.
Now we have the power to usemusic to our advantage.
(39:12):
We can have salsa dance sessionsas a morning spirit lift or a
chill jazz session a.
In a warm shower or a tortsession after your wake up
workout, whatever makes you feelgood.
If you're like me and you can'tdance, but you love to dance
dance in the mirror.
It makes you look better.
Just like singing in the showermakes you sing better.
(39:35):
I know this from experience, itreally works.
Allow some positive music tostart your day.
You can also use music andmeditations to end your day.
Also, my favorite hype song thatreally gives me dancing, singing
and rapping in the morning is asong we got to love.
Love, love by Tiana Taylor, featuring Lauren Hill.
(39:57):
My day is always fabulous.
When I start with that song.
When people learn the power ofhow your subconscious mind
works.
Guided manifestation, meditationvideos have become extremely
popular on YouTube.
Reshaping the minds of those whostruggle with late night
anxiety, sleep deprivation, andstress all meditation.
(40:19):
It takes practice.
Download the encountermeditation app to listen before
bed or search YouTube for a nicecalm manifestation meditation
video.
When you fall asleep to a guidedmeditation, it is still being
consumed in your subconsciousmind.
This works way better thanfalling asleep to a horror film.
I promise.
Understand the reason they callsocial media influencers,
(40:42):
influencers.
Because they are paid toinfluence your behavior, be
influenced by those that empoweryou to grow and learn.
Not those that empower you tospend money on products that you
don't need.
Not those that are onlydiscussing celebrity gossip and
drama, reshape your social mediaby creating a new page and
(41:02):
following new uplifting andempowering pages.
Trick the algorithm for youradvantage for growth.
For example, if you want tocreate wealth from real estate,
only follow real estate.

your social media.

Recap for.
Consuming.
The sun and its brightness, sunlight naturally makes you
feel brighter and better.
The sunshine gives your bodyvitamin D, which is needed for
naturally healing, specificmental health issues.
Being in the darkness and darkspaces for long periods of time,
(42:48):
without light naturally makesyou feel depressed and it shuts
down your ability to thrive.
This is why being locked insolitary confinement, or the
hole is a form of punishment.
It breaks down your ability tothrive.

Practice makes progress in allareas, a wise person once said,
try something at least threetimes before you give up on it.
