these different types ofbreathing?

Welcome to Mindful Hypnosis.
I am Cheryl, your host.
A while back, I did a meditationthat was called Breathing with

(01:48):
your Toes, and, if you know mysense of humor, that's exactly
what the meditation was about.
There is something to be saidfor bringing in creativity and
silliness and ways of thinkingabout things that are so out of
the ordinary, which helps yourbrain, because your brain does

(02:11):
not process things.
Your subconscious mind does notprocess things in words, like
how we speak to each other.
It works in metaphor and story, and it also taps into fun
things and things that light usup.
We get those happy chemicalsand we get even more outrageous
in the way we do things, andthat is a good thing, because

(02:33):
our brain loves novelty.
It loves newness and excitement.
So I wanna give you a nicelittle small breathing technique
that you can do.
That is so fun and so calmingand it is really good to do with
kids.
Now it is your choice whetheryou wanna keep your eyes open
and closed.

(02:53):
For most people it works betterclosed, but you may master the
Jedi mind trick of keeping youreyes open and being able to
visualize perfectly clear.
All right, close your eyes.
So I want you just to imaginenow if you're driving please
don't do this while you'redriving, but I just want you to

(03:15):
imagine that you're justbreathing the way you normally
breathe in and out, and in andout.
You don't need to changeanything or modify your
breathing.
You're just breathing in andout.
But I want you to imagine, orjust think, of what your body

(03:37):
would look like if your body wasbeing completely breathed on
its own.
Would you be fading in and out?
Would you be like a sponge thatgets full and then it exhales
and it gets small?
Or maybe you see colors, like aliving breathing aura.

(03:59):
But whatever your imaginationis, just play with me and allow
your body to breathe and asyou're allowing your body to
breathe and you're just noticingthe connection between your
body and the outside world, because all that air is just
coming into every part of yourbody and then going right back

(04:22):
out again, this connection thathappens when your whole body
breathes.
And now I want you just to letme your imagination and just
imagine that not only is yourbody breathing, but your ears

(04:42):
are inhaling and exhalinginhaling and exhaling and as it
does that, perhaps thoughts thatyou don't need just filter out.
Maybe you notice more clarityin your mind, or maybe this
makes you giggle, it doesn'tmatter, it's all play and fun.

(05:04):
And bring your attention downto your hands and your
fingertips and notice your lefthand and then notice your right
hand and notice how both of yourhands you're breathing through
your fingertips and what's funabout this is sometimes you may

(05:27):
actually start to feel warmnessand heaviness around your hands
as well and you're breathingyour body.
You're breathing through yourfingertips.
You're inhaling and exhalingout your ears and bring your
attention all the way down toyour feet and your toes and just

(05:48):
imagine if you had a rush ofgrounding, amazing, refreshing
air that just comes in from yourtoes.
Your whole body is like amagnet.
And now the best part is just goup and notice your heart and

(06:10):
notice how your heart, withevery beat of that oxygenated
blood, is just breathing itself.
You notice that your heart isopening up and you're breathing
through your heart and out yourheart.
Breathing through your heartand out your heart, it feels

(06:37):
really good.
You might even want to take afew big, deep breaths in and out
just to feel the wonderfuleffects of your heart breathing,
because the heart is a verystrong magnet electricity and it

(06:57):
draws things to you.
It draws wonderful resources toyou and it connects you to
everybody outside of you, andyou'll notice the more you start
to breathe your body andbreathe your heart, and breathe

(07:18):
through your fingers and toesand inhale and exhale through
your ears, you're going tonotice how wonderful you feel.
You may even feel silly, butdoes that matter?
Nah, now, the one last thing Iwould love you to do is become

(07:39):
more mindful.
When you do this, when you'refocusing on your ears, focus on
your ears when you're noticingyour breathing going in and out
and your whole body breathing.
Notice your whole body moving inand out, notice your heart.
Just really go into your bodyand notice and see, with that

(08:06):
childlike wonder, just how funthis would feel if you could
actually do it.
I have a question for you thatyou may want to ask yourself
what can I learn from this?
Take some time to think aboutthat and then, once you get your

(08:32):
answer, you can take a big, deep breath in and you can
exhale, and then you can openyour eyes and go about the day
knowing that you can always goback to this wonderful form of
breathing.
If you're in a stuffy meeting,you're a passenger in a car
going for a long drive, you getup in the morning and just want

(08:55):
to feel more refreshed andsettled in and just feel more
connected to things that areabove and beyond.
You Do this breathing exerciseand I would love to hear your
experiences.
Take a deep breath in andexhale.

(09:17):
You want to live in themeantime and I will see you

(09:47):
there one day, one minute at atime.
