Speaker 2 (00:10):
happy spring equinox
happy spring equinox and happy,
mindful mayhem wow how are wetoday?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
let's like sit and
reflect, yeah yeah, might as
well reflect on all the goodthings that are happening to us
and all the positivity that'sentering our life going into
this spring.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, we want to, we
want to have.
Okay, let's, let's all take amoment here, in through the nose
and out through the mouth, dowhat she said and then think
about like, by the time you guyslisten to this, it's going to
be after spring equinox.
What was the beginning of theyear like?
Moving into our vibe right now,you know, like it's been a
(00:51):
freaking roller coaster.
So I want everyone to do just amental check.
If you're not feeling thespring equinox vibes, feel like
you need to release some more ofthat little post lunar eclipse
stuff.
Like let it out, because thevibes are high, the sun is out,
the flowers are going to bloom, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
So, like Kayla said,
reflect on the beginning of the
year.
I feel like we have a lot toreflect on.
I mean, at the beginning of theyear.
Podcast alone was just aconcept and now here we are,
posting episodes, living thedream couple of them, couple of
them in yep thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
So much, by the way,
we've been like enjoying, you
know, just our couple littlelittle girly pops and boy pops
that listen to us, but all thepops, whatever you are but we
have gotten such an amazing, amazing response to putting out
the pod.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
It was not not to say
we didn't expect a positive
review.
I mean, that's the hope.
But everyone's been so sweetand our cheeks hurt from smiling
so much and being so excitedand obviously with Grizz being
back, like how could we not justbe so happy all the time?
Speaker 2 (02:05):
The sun is out, the
sun is shining, it's going,
speaking of which, recordingtime day of present tense, today
, basically.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Today is the spring
equinox.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
It is 3-2-1, March
21st.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yes, it is 321 March
21st.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yes, and in present
time we have a little Gemini
that released music.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Can we just talk
about the last 10 days?
Last week, March 11th, ourlittle Gemini came back period
and then, within 10 days, afestival EP.
What's?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
the sun.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, the world is
good.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
We want to know where
you're from, by the way, too,
because, like we've met so manypeople, like we're gonna go back
to Denver soon.
I know we've mentioned Denver abunch of times, but yeah, we
New York.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
New York, denver,
everywhere, florida and Arizona.
Yeah, we love the sun andwherever it shines, which is all
over the world, so catch usglobal international.
Ho, that's my handle butactually, though, we will be in
virginia because we are going toseven stars we are humans and
(03:17):
we did get tickets so yeah, sowhat, like, what do you?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
I mean, I do
genuinely feel bad.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
I'm sorry for all the
grizz fam that did not get
tickets.
Honestly, this is a verycutthroat process.
I personally was on the websitean hour ahead of time, tried my
best to get the tickets.
Kayla somehow, with ease perusual, got through the queue,
got through the wait list, didn't even have to worry about
putting her email in for thewait list.
(03:46):
I'm sitting here scrambling inmy Ursa jersey trying with
tie-dye sky going ham in myapartment while chaos is
erupting on my laptop.
It was so chaotic for me andthen she's just like all the
time.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I'm grateful like it
was so 180 I the day that the
tickets went on sale.
Of course we, like, knew aboutpre-sale and we're the crazy
people.
Like we did ursa, we did thelast day of his three day, or
his three sets in a row indenver his last day, um,
whatever, whatever, whatever.
Okay, great, we don't need toprove that we're fans, but we
(04:25):
were going to go.
Before the tickets went on sale, there was a bunch of
circulation on the internet andwhatever about how okay.
Well, people that have beenwaiting, people that are true
fans, the OGs should be the onesthat get tickets.
But a little devil advocate andI think we might have talked
about this a little bit of ourlast episodes, to forgive us if
we're repeating ourselves, butit's like, over this course of
(04:47):
the time that he's been off, youknow people that are growing to
know him.
Of course we want to say andwelcome with open arms new fans
and whatever, but for peoplethat are the real fans that are
online right now, likedevastated devastated of just
like how dare there not betickets for us?
(05:08):
Or like, oh, my like it's justit's not the guy's fault.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I think that's the
biggest, biggest, biggest thing
I personally want to emphasizeis this is a very big chapter
for him as an artist and anyartist that's curating an event.
They cannot control the botsguys and I get the frustration.
But his comment section,low-key, is not matching the
(05:32):
energy of this new openingopportunity that he's trying to
have for himself.
And maybe this is the inner fanlike lover girl in me.
That's like, but come on likeit's.
It's him, you know, buteveryone's just angry with him
and a lot of these.
I think we tend to forget thatartists don't have control over
(05:53):
AI and bots.
Like he's going to do his bestto get those tickets for the
people on the wait list, but itis not the artist's fault that
the website couldn't handle thebots and the robots and the
scammers and the scalpers andall the people that aren't meant
to be getting tickets for theseevents yeah, I mean, he's not
like he's sitting behind hiscomputer maliciously being like
(06:14):
oh, haha, like I'm in this formoney and this and that and I
went on this hiatus on purposeand blah blah like because I'm
gonna come back and break theinternet like no, he didn't't,
he needed a simple break.
I don't even know if he expectedit to be this big.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Let's just also
preface.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
What you no go ahead.
Let's just also preface thatthe GA sales like not pre-sale,
the standard sales, it sold outin 90 seconds guys.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Well, people were
like it was only 10 seconds.
I couldn't even add the ticketto my cart in time and it was
right at seconds bro 30 000people liked his tiktok like
alone, and it could be up morethan that by now.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
But I mean we forget
how big social media is and how
many people saw this.
There's probably so many peoplethat didn't even post comment
or like that were interested andsecretly bought a ticket.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
You know what I mean
like or how about where fans
only got to see him once duringthe time frame maybe we're a new
fan within the five years ofhis last, the last five years of
his um before his hiatus andthen now this is like okay, this
is his first concert back, soall those people too are in
there that we haven't even knownabout or even met, or even just
(07:29):
like the people that we've beenaround.
It's not like we go around andwe see the same people at every
show every single time it's likeit's a new wave of people every
time and that's even forChicago, shows that we've seen
him multiple times at too it'salways a new wave of people.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Artists are forever
growing and being an OG fan,
it's a good title to havebecause it means you were there
from the beginning, you'vegotten to see the growth.
But with that growth comes newfans and new friends and new
opportunities.
I think the biggest takeawayfrom at least this small subject
is be nice to the artists.
(08:07):
Don't be mad at them, becausethey're cool and everyone's
finding out about them.
I mean, there is a little partof us that I think is like dang,
like I remember when it wasn'ta cutthroat competition to get a
ticket.
But now it's's like wait, youare thriving, wait, you are
growing.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Like and I know that
our attitude and by the time,
like we said, like you guys seethis, who's who might not even
care, and hopefully by thenscalpers are erased and people
on the wait list have gottentickets and stuff.
So and if that's the case likeI hope that's the case, like I
hope that's the case you know, but we also acknowledge that,
(08:45):
speaking on this whole event ina way, because we did secure
tickets, like I, we are stillfeeling for the people that
didn't really get to feel to gettickets because we didn't.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Technically I did, I
mean it's not like we fucking
yeah you didn't I was likeactually going manic because I
didn't get the ticket in thesecond that I was like, okay,
it's gone, kayla called me Likeit was really like luck of the
draw and, honestly, I know ahandful of people that did
secure tickets during pre-saleand I do believe, although it
may seem like a lot of realhumans didn't get them there
(09:20):
were, and it's just unfortunatethat artists are getting that
big and, yes, we are on the biasscale because we got them, but
even on the other end I I kindof went into it mentally
preparing to not get them youknow, so can we also dive into.
Chris just dropped an EP foursongs.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Kayla, I haven't
heard any of the songs yet
because we specifically I waited.
I, this morning, sent Taylorwhat I saw on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Well, I saw it last
night.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
And then she told me
to get off the internet because
she was planning on bringing itup to me today.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I wanted to break the
news on the pod that Grizz
dropped these four songs.
And Kayla, though she is veryin tune with what's happening in
the world, she does not use theinternet like your standard Gen
Z millennial-esque.
Like this, girl will have noclue what TikTok trend sound is
going on at all and I'm like, ohmy god, have you heard this?
(10:17):
And she's just blank face, noclue what I'm saying.
In one ear out the next which isfine it leaves more to talk
about I'm busy of course, thismorning this girl had to get on
instagram an hour before we'rehanging out and say oh my god,
you're never gonna guess whatgirl I know, I already knew.
(10:37):
I said put your phone awayright now.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
I'm fine, I'll stay
where I belong but, yeah, and
then on the way here I wasstruggling.
I played the first episode, Iplayed the first Song and then
the second song, right Beforethe drop hit.
I didn't even Give myself timeto read the goddamn Titles.
So when you're talking aboutthis and Two step and what I'm
like oh.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I do really like two
step.
For those Of you that havelistened and will have listened
by now.
Two-step got me wanting to getdown.
Yeah, okay, should we do a minilistening play?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
them because actually
, like now by now everyone's
heard them, let's lay them.
Okay, I'll play it like let mehear play me two-step, play me
just the one two step, because Isure as fuck haven't heard it.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
If it's not the first
one.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
This is the one I
stopped right before the drops
this one got me wanting to youjust know that he was just
(11:59):
sitting behind his desk likeokay.
Well, that was.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah, a little
preview refresh oh, dude, and
the thing is that's really coolis each song he put is like from
its own universe of sound andso that one gives like the most
ice cream vibes, like that pop, like funk jumping around, like
shaking your butt a little, youknow.
And then there's others thatjust take me back to like
(12:24):
goodwill prevail and it's just,oh my gosh the first one.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
The first one really
set me back.
Yeah, I was like this is like agolden hour album, and then
that obviously I didn't listento it, but I saw his post saying
that it was a different kind of.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
He's like just
beenibble, dabbling and
everything, and it's so cool tobe taken back but also hear
what's yet to come and my cheekshurt.
It hurts being so happy all thetime but yeah, I think that is
really really cool.
Cool and to know that he wasactually taking the time to not
(13:04):
only heal but create and expressthrough new sounds and old,
it's just wow.
Refinding yourself is so coolyeah, talking about refinding
themselves.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't know what is
going on right now, but we just
talked about Death Pack recently.
Oh, yeah, literally we werejust Like, just talking about
him.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I don't know if it's
like a group thing or one person
.
If I'm being honest, I keephearing different things.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
I don't know If you
guys didn't see the thing.
There's a thing circulating orwas circulating about a month
ago.
That was like a girl getting Amonth ago this was last week the
girl got her titty touched.
I didn't see the full video.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Yeah, so basically,
it seems as though they were
taking a fan picture and forsome reason, put their hand up
with the palm facing the person.
Imagine this You're a fan, there's a gate in between you
and then the artist is standingbehind you.
You're self-emoting the photoand the it looked like they put
(14:06):
their death pact, had put theirhand up right in the chest area
and like done like a subtlepatting motion in the chest area
couldn't see through his maskyeah, and I personally don't
know I mean, we obviously willnever know because we can't see
through the mask like if theywant to put a camera in there
and show us for themselves.
That'd be cool, very easy way toclean your slate but uh I will
(14:31):
say there was a repeated tappingand then the person put their
hand in between where it's likeokay, it happened long enough
for them to feel uncomfortableto put their hand in between.
Where it's like okay, ithappened long enough for them to
feel uncomfortable to put theirhand there to block the other
hand from touching them.
And that's the only part thatthrew me off where it's like
okay, if it was like a one tapand then they put their hand
down because they realized theydid something wrong, then okay.
(14:52):
But to have it get to the pointwhere the person that you're
touching puts their hand in as aboundary, that's where it got
weird to me okay, I didn't seethe video, so I don't.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I only saw like the
little live photo yeah and it
looked like a little tap yeah,it was.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
It was definitely a
little bit suspicious like
either way, so he also.
This isn't the first time, Iguess, for meet and greets that
they've said that well, andwhat's interesting is taking it
back to if it's one person ornot, I saw they posted a
statement being all like I amthe person that was there at
that time a part of the deathpact project.
So I keep hearing multiplethings.
(15:31):
Whether it's one person or not,I know that res made a
statement because it's beenrumored that she was a part of
it and she was like I only workon my own project, like I'm not
a part of that at all, removingherself from being affiliated,
just in case so.
I don't know if maybe it is oneperson and they're using the
idea that they people thinkthere's multiple in order to
(15:52):
move past this.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Oh, what if it's a
girl?
What if it's a girl andeveryone's like it doesn't
matter if it's a girl or a guy?
Now, what if it was a girl?
Now, okay, exactly it's like.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
I think the biggest
thing is it's the fact that we
don't know if it's multiplepeople or not.
So who's to say that if it ismultiple people, then the next
time it's not that person.
And then they're getting hatedand they're losing out on a
project because of what oneperson did under the same alias
well, yeah, but also say, it isone person.
But they're now not saying thatthis is all like we don't know
(16:23):
what the intention was was withthis, like it could have easily
been a mistake and it just cameoff the wrong way.
But now if it's one person andthey're kind of using the idea
that people think it's more thanone to get away with it and it
wasn't a mistake, then it's likea double-edged sword yeah, so
(16:44):
what?
Speaker 2 (16:44):
they're just gonna
throw someone else in just for
them to be able to continue tohave this death pack thing.
But that's like that.
Either way, that doesn't matter, because it's still the name,
whether people know it's oneperson or not you know whether
they're gonna throw someone elsein and say, oh, it's not
multiple, it's multiple people.
It's still a part of the part ofthe project I don't know.
That's kind of interesting.
(17:05):
It would be hard, because it'slike if they do fire the guy,
say it is like five people andthey fire one of them.
Okay, there's four more.
Are they really going toactually try to add one more
person to make it five peopleagain let's just using this as
an example or did they just rollthrough with those extra four
people a part of the project andjust try to take the hit and
make their statements all aroundthat and just say that they
(17:26):
fired it, but then they'regiving up their.
They can't give up their.
That's why they're in a mess.
That's why nobody knows theycan't give up their thing.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I am having quotation
, quotation.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
I'm over here like I
wish I was more caffeinated, and
I should probably not be morecaffeinated.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
I have a question
what?
What is your opinion onmultiple statements being
released in the case of asituation like this, because
they've already released a fewstatements over this one issue?
Where do you feel like the morestatements that you release,
the more suspicious you look orthe more it clears your name?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
this is a hard thing
because in general it's like
when you are be, when you're notthe person that did it, it's
like you're like tryingeverything in your possible to
prove that you didn't and likenot trying to sit back and be
quiet.
Because if you did sit back andbe quiet, you look suspicious.
But then people are like if youare overly talking, then you
(18:25):
look suspicious.
I think that me personally, I'ma.
I need to prove myself becauseit frustrates me and I can't sit
still and it makes me sick, like.
So who knows if he feels likehe's, if he is defending himself
and he feels sick about it.
But it's also like don't justbe defending yourself to cover,
(18:46):
clear your ass, because it'syour career behind you.
It's like that's where it'stough and, in general light, I
feel like if you're gonna try tokeep pressing it towards me,
okay, at one point I mightbelieve you because like of how
genuinely trying to like get meto believe you with all your
statements.
But yeah, there comes a certainpoint where it's like you just
(19:10):
gotta move past it if you gottado anything yeah, but it sucks
because we're not in like thepublic eye, like that to where
we have a hundred thousandpeople, or however many
followers, I might be givingthem too much credit.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
No, I feel like they
have a pretty big following and,
like you said, I feel like I'mthe same way where, depending on
the circumstances of what'sbeing said, I would have to
overly compensate for the factthat I don't do something.
But at the same time, I doagree that too many statements
makes you look weird, and I'msure a lot of people could also
(19:45):
agree where it's like just moveon.
If you did nothing wrong atsome point, you just got to take
it or leave it, given thecircumstances, if it was
actually like a legal problem, like let the court deal with it.
But too many statements is alittle weird to me, like at this
point it's like but what areyou still compensating for?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Right, and that's the
thing, is because it's in the
public and court eyes.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
What I don't think
it's a court.
Oh, it's not Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
If it was, that would
be one thing to be like okay,
just leave it to everybody andyou should not go to the
Internet if you're taking legalaction by any means Not to give
people any.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Yeah, well, I think
it's just like a general rule,
like don't overly exposeyourself on the Internet because
that can be used against you inanything.
So I feel like it's theyprobably didn't do anything
wrong and it won't be takenanywhere.
But yeah, I think that's aninteresting situation that
happened and it's unfortunatethat there's so many downfalls
happening with artists due tolegal actions or doing
(20:42):
inappropriate things Like whycan't we just all love the music
and vibe out and not get handsywith each other?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Well, not even that,
though, too, because I mean,
fuck, dude, like we were 15before everything started.
Being 18 plus yeah, 21 plus, wewere 15, 16, being 18 plus yeah
, 21 plus, we were 15, 16, 17,18 going to concerts like yeah,
I was 18.
Yeah, so I mean, and peoplealso have fake IDs and then you
(21:11):
know so in fact I never had afake ID.
I never had a fake.
Actually, I had my sister's IDshout out to you, thank you.
She's not even like my realblood sister, but we look alike
to move on to a more highsubject.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Right now, zed's dead
is doing their huge show in New
York, which I, my friend, offered me to go with her, and I
am deeply regretting not doingso, but I couldn't get off work
wait huge.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
What in?
Speaker 1 (21:34):
New York.
They just played at a deli shoplast night.
Oh really yeah, a place calledcat's deli in new york.
Granted the tickets.
Dude, normalized, notoverpricing pop-up events,
because why was it 125 to go toa deli shop?
It was 125 to go to a pop-upshow at a deli, yeah, like
(21:58):
that's where I body to body likewhen shout out john summit for
doing that pop-up at portillo's.
Wasn't that a free show?
Speaker 2 (22:05):
yeah at the one on
like go off king at portillo's.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
What an iconic
chicago staple.
But to and this is no hate tozed's dead, because they're the
shit, but to do 120 to go to adeli shop is actually crazy work
.
Like at this point.
So many artists are doing thefree pop-up shows like you, make
your bag this weekend, but givethe people something also.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
You've been around
for quite some time also, this
deli wasn't even open.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
No one could even
grab a bite.
They were playing where theymake the sandwich and cash out
like who.
If I'm gonna go to a deli for ashow, I want to gobble us up.
I need me the turkey probe.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Give me the the warm
turkey problem.
Okay, here's we.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Here we go, crash,
break top three deli places go I
feel like, if I'm being honest,I haven't like experimented
with enough out of the box oneof one family owned spots.
Like I'm a standard JerseyMike's and I'm fine.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Yeah, jersey Mike's
way back to the.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Mike's oh, yeah, the
Mike's.
But I will say I am like aclassic girl.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
I love a Jersey
Mike's sub, yeah for a while I
was a potbelly guy, until theyput a plastic piece in my
sandwich and I literally almosthad to sue.
I would gag but I was too youngto like know what suing was, so
I was just like I almost died.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Cool, come on.
But um, yeah, I will say Ithought it was really cool that
I do like that.
All these artists are gettingthe more out of the box.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
High heels on my
tippies I thought it was on my I
don't know, this our aboveneighbors is crazy.
Okay, here we go, take a sip.
Yeah, let me get some of this.
I love hanging out with you.
I love hanging out with youguys.
I'll hang out with her.
I love hanging out with all ofyou guys, man kayla needs more
(24:01):
caffeine.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Her brain is not
braining.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Spring is equinoxing,
but brain is not okay it's
because I haven't eaten yet andsweet green just dropped off my
food with no utensils yeah, no,okay, here we go, okay, so we're
gonna get everyone prepared.
If you had to pack a backpackto go to electric forest, seven
stars elements, oh wait, can't,bisco, can't I don't fucking
(24:28):
care.
Okay, you have a backpack.
What is going inside of itsince?
Speaker 1 (24:32):
we are avid festival
goers and campers.
I think it would be really coolto touch on the facts of what
is essential to bring tosomewhere like middle of nowhere
, virginia.
As we spoke at the beginning ofthe episode, we are going to
seven stars and that is in themiddle of nowhere.
The closest hotel is 30 milesaway, which is about a 40 to an
(24:53):
hour drive, and so I think.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Did you hear how,
camp bisco, you have to park at
the down of the bottom of themountain and you have to hike
your shit all the way up afucking mountain like five miles
?
That's crazy work.
You can't even bring a wagon.
This is what I heard.
This was like seven years ago.
I heard this because my friendwent, but yeah like imagine that
shit with no cell serviceeither line drawn.
Hey, can you go to the car youcan't even even call anybody
(25:17):
down.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Wait, I actually need
this.
No, no, you better write a listand know everything you need
from the car because it's a onetrip.
Yeah, that's why I said what'sgoing in your backpack?
My essentials are probably alittle fan that I can attach to
my phone that'll get the vibesright or a battery operated one
with the mist Love those.
Love mist a portable charger myearplugs loop always not
(25:42):
sponsored but loop experiences10 out of 10.
If you want to give us a littlesponsorship or reach out, we'll
take it but, loop experiencesare like my go-to for sure.
Um, probably sunblock handsanitizer, always, always wipes,
wipes, baby wipes, whether younot the makeup wipes or even
(26:06):
like a mini deodorant, just therandom essential essentials to
just get through any day achapstick.
But then also you do put inlike the hygiene factor, which
is where you get the handsanitizer and things of that
nature.
But what about you?
Oh, a lip gloss.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
You get a backpack.
You're going with the outfityou went in, some hand sanitizer
, some sunblock and some lipgloss Never going anywhere
without lip gloss.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
If I'm being honest,
chapstick I'll have only a
chapstick in my purse and I'mlike Me right now.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I need some, but it's
fine.
Okay, so my essentials.
If I had to have just abackpack, I would have a hoodie.
Oh, that's a good idea, ahoodie, an extra pair of socks,
because your feet are sweaty andyou don't want fungus.
Extra pair of socks always, because if you're going to one
of those festivals, shout outsummer camp.
I love you, shout out all ofthem.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
But when it rains, it
freaking pours.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
You know what?
Actually, it's cyclones.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Monsoon, monsoons, um
.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
But really, a pair of
socks is a great idea, yeah
dude, there was one point atsummer camp you didn't know
whether or not you were steppingin shit or mud, and it was
quite the thing or then thepeople that take their shoes off
.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah, and they're
just walking with only socks or
barefooting.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
It is crazy here's
probably my like essential, that
not everyone does.
I know for a fact.
Not everyone does.
But those lights that go onyour head, oh, that's smart.
There's many ones, but becausenot every time when you go on a
porta potty it's pitch black, are you gonna want to hold your
phone, especially in thecreatures of the nighttime hours
(27:50):
?
You're not trying to hold yourshit.
You might be fucked up, drunky, whatever riding a wave riding a
wave and you don't want to setyour phone down, so you just pop
that on.
Or even there's like a cliplike I.
It's literally a clip, a sprout.
Yeah, all right, yeah, oh wait, that'd be cute that's a good
(28:12):
idea, the one like the nemo fish.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, do you know the
nemo fish with the light there
was one of those that just cameup from the bottom of the ocean
not that long ago really yeah,it died okay good well, yeah,
because it can't survive abovehere it's not supposed to see
the real light, only its ownwell, no, not okay good, but
okay good that it was like awhole thing like the universe
(28:34):
was, like people in the worldwere getting it tattooed on them
the, the nemo fish at thebottom of the ocean, the one
that came to the surface.
They were like in the lastmoments it just was drawn
towards the natural light what alike circle of life moment.
This was like two months ago.
Light what a like circle oflife moment.
(28:55):
This was like two months ago.
That's funny back to Kaylabeing so out of the loop with
what happens in the world, because I know you guys remember
this it was like I don't evenremember what the fish is called
, but when the nemo fish withthe light came to the surface in
the real world, yeah comment,if you know what we're talking
about.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Yeah, there could
have been mermaids discovered,
for all I know which.
They have been over in theChina waters, somewhere China
waters.
Yeah, okay, to finish off, myessentials in the backpack, to
give you guys a list, we needdefinitely the chapstick,
definitely baby wipes in there, definitely the hand sandies
we're going to put a littlelight in there.
We're going to put a hoodie.
(29:31):
We're going panties we're gonnaput a little light in there.
We're gonna put a hoodie.
We're gonna give you an extrapair of socks.
We're gonna give you a littlesmall spray deodorant.
Yeah, and we're gonna give youan extra water bottle, sealed.
Oh, what if you can't bring awater bottle in?
Speaker 1 (29:42):
usually you can bring
a sealed water bottle in oh
yeah, we're talking aboutcamping festivals.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah, okay we are
gonna end this episode off in a
second, but we're gonna end thiswith what we like to call a
final two.
Okay, a final two time diamond, diamond, okay.
Best thing that you can thinkof that you've experienced at a
festival and worst thing thatyou can think of that you have
(30:11):
experienced at a festival bestthing I would have to say is
gonna be just okay.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Actually I have a
really good one.
So this is a more recent thing.
That happened when we were atUrsa Major.
There's some this happens alsoto me now after the festival but
there was a moment where wewere at Grizz Ursa Major and he
was playing Spaceship and Idon't know what in my brain like
clocked a memory and it becameone of my core memories because
(30:38):
throughout his hiatus, which, ifyou know the Spaceship remix
that he dropped on the Bible itis not like a la-di-da frolic
song, it is like a grimy littlemoment.
But tell me why, every time itcomes on, I cry, just because
the core memory that I have withit and all of us just being
(31:00):
there, like you, ryan, and I,and us just like living in the
moment and being like, oh mygosh, we're here, like we're at
earth, so the vibes are so high, like I don't know what it was,
but it clocked in my brain andso now when I'm in the car and
it comes on, I always get liketeary-eyed and I'm like girl,
you cannot keep crying to thisheadbanger song.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
I have a similar
story for my favorite moment,
and it was the time I actuallyliterally just passed the one
year ago memory on my phone thatI recorded it to you guys, and
it was the moment we were all inNew York this is so fucking
repetitive.
We're so goddamn boring talkingabout Grizz in New York and
Denver.
That's like the only things wecan talk about right.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
It's just Grizz is
back in his peak and that's why
we keep talking about it, butthere is a lot of core memories
that we have created togetherservicing him as an artist, so
it's like unintentional, thatthat's all we talk about.
There will be more when we growfurther with this as well.
It's just, you're still gettingto know us, and a good thing to
know about us is we love.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Grizz, it's also just
the time period we're recording
it, the times it is the timesbut so in New York we were at.
No, was it in New York?
It was not.
It was at heat wave no I thinkit was new york.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
It was new york, he
was recording and we all looked
at her and we were like she gotit.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, yeah, and that
was with the rainbow brain um
remix and he was doing.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
It was so in new york
we have this thing that we all
do unintentionally now, whetherwe're in new york, whether we're
in chicago, whether we're indenver, where, unintentionally,
someone in our friend groupalways gets the moment, and
we'll all go to grab our phonesand record that one drop and
(32:46):
then you'll look and scopeeverybody around and you're like
, oh, they got, they got itYou've been holding your phone
for the past 15 seconds, man,and it's like, oh, she got it,
don't worry, put your phone away, they got it.
Worst moment, I would have tosay, not to totally just jump to
(33:06):
that.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
No, you're okay.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Worst moment, I would
have to say, is in my earlier
days of going to festivals andstuff, before I fully understood
the okayness with being aloneat them.
I got lost and I almost had apanic attack because I was by
myself at this festival and itwas such a foreign area where
later on I went on to like go toshows by myself, festivals I
(33:31):
side quest.
Now if I'm alone I'm fine.
But little version of me wasaccidentally side questing and
scared, because it's scary whenyou're a little lad going and
all alone in the world in thesea of the strangers and you're
like, oh my God, what am I doinghere?
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Yeah, Worst moment
for me was probably when I went
yet again to Electric Forestwith my ex-boyfriend.
Oh yeah, it was shortly afterlike a huge moment in time of
our relationship happened and wewere like trying to build our
(34:11):
relationship back together.
And the weekend before I'mtotally writing myself out, but
the weekend before we went toforest we were like we should
probably like make sure thatwe're mentally okay to like go
to forest, right.
So like we, you know, had somefun psychedelic time the week
(34:32):
before we went and we were likeOK, we're fine, we're going to
go.
No, we get there.
We're sitting by the fuckingsilent disco in the middle of
the forest and we're sitting inby the tree and he's fruit LARP
and dude just freaking looping.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Oh, that's the worst.
And I'm like being around youFor those that don't understand
what a loop is.
Oh, that's the worst, and I'mlike around you for those that
don't understand what a loop is.
It's when you get caught in thesame moment over and over again
, but since you're under theinfluence of something, you're
literally stuck like I've hadsomeone loop with me and I'm
like okay, we gotta get out ofhere like what are you saying
right now?
like they just kept being like Ithink we gotta go, like let's
(35:12):
go, and I was like, okay, let'sgo and then they're like two
steps later I think we gotta go,like let's go, and I was like
okay, like we're leaving, likelet's go, and then again two
steps later and it's just likeso scary because you can't stop
it, but also like let's go, yeah, come on yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Yeah, it wasn't like
scary by any means, because it
was so like like get it the fucktogether, dude, like I don't
know what to tell you, likelet's go, but um but yeah, so
that would be my worst moment.
But, yeah, I don't want to gettoo much into that, because we
could probably talk about all ofthat for like an hour, and I do
want like a special dedicatedepisode to that, because I feel
(35:53):
like there's something specialbehind like doing psychedelics
and not doing psychedelics.
Yeah, certain people can dothem, certain people can't do
them and I really like, for, would like that to be a
conversation one day.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
So, yeah, we should
definitely, yeah, wait for that,
but 100 and there is a rightand wrong way to attend
festivals like we, as kayla justsaid.
We can obviously touch deeperon this and I also want to dive
into the fact like I sober ravenow.
Now, yeah, I'm a sober ravernow, give or take a little
(36:29):
dibble dabble every now and ablue moon, but for the most part
I go to shows and I am just100% there Like I drink water
and I'm vibing.
But that's like a subject todefinitely dive into, because
there is a mental understandingwith going into that lifestyle
and it is not the easiest thingto acquire.
It does take a next levelstrength, but it does enhance
(36:49):
your experience in its own waynot even enhancing your
experience, enhancing yourself,but yeah, that's where we're
gonna put the time clock andwe'll put a pin in it.
For now we're gonna.
We're gonna put a pin in thatconversation for the next
episode.
So with that we want to thankyou all for tuning in.
