Social media is constantly evolving and we as a society are spending more and more time with social media. Today we wanted to chat about how emotional awareness can be very powerful when engaging with social media.  Some of the strategies we discuss include thinking about how you are feeling before you start scrolling, be mindful and aware while using it, and when it is time to shut it off, do so. Cultivating relationships starts with you!  One of the most important elements of this is groundedness, the ability to be in touch with your emotions.  Groundedness helps a person from getting lost in past stories, beliefs and experiences.  It allows someone to carry into the next experience from a place of awareness of the body, emotions, how we think and how we respond. Today we will talk about what we believe are important compo...

We spend one third of our lives at work.  Because of this, it is important that we learn how to apply the tools that can allow us to be emotionally aware at work throughout the day. As we have mentioned in beginning episodes, practicing meditation is a way in which to become more mindful.  Mindfulness allows us to pay attention, in the present moment in a more objective manner.  It is key to decreasing rumination about work (i.e,. ...

Did you know there is actually research that suggests words can change your brain?  If you, over time, have sustained positive thoughts (using positive words) your functions in the brain start to change.  Positivity helps train our brains to see good in others and ourselves. This simple act can change the way we perceive our life journey.  Today we take a few words and explore our emotional attachments (or lack thereof) to them and...
