Hi! I've been a music educator and composer for over 35 years and I have combined my vocations with my passion to talk about the quest to do better. I invite people in my community to chat. This podcast has EVOLVED into a platform for people to tell their stories. How did they get to where they are now? A parent or NOT, everybody has quite the origin-story to tell. Sure I invite my guests to speak freely and openly about their challenges around parenting, and encourage empathy and understanding amongst all of us. . . In thanks for their vulnerability, I compose a song for each guest, presenting it at the end of the podcast. All songs are renamed, used as the episode title and released on all of the streaming sites, too. Want to be a part of it? Reach out for a chat! margaretdahlberg.com
This was a real treat, how often do we get to talk to someone who was a 'tween during World War II? Beatrice had a prolific career, a happy marriage and is a mother of four. Such a fascinating listen - she is a woman who had cutting edge aspirations for her generation and continues to have many aspirations at her stage in life, including piano lessons with my mother!
Argentinian born Loreley lived a full life before becoming a dedicated Mom of one. She cultivated her own unique circumstance to raise her son in a way that she could stick to her convictions while at the same time, being open to learning and growing. Sounds like a winning combination to me! Two notes from the episode: for video game addiction information: https://camerondare.com/; For the book about Glucose levels: h...
Lauren, a professional singer and teacher, wears a coat of many colours. This mother of two paints, skates, plays drum kit, hikes, climbs. . . AND. . . she intuitively painted the album cover to the song I wrote for her while listening to it. The water sound in the song is from Lake O'Hara which helped inspired her graphic. SO beautiful! I've added it to the episode graphic as well.
Richard is a father of one and a grandfather of 3. He is a gentleman of great humour and delivers many of his stories and responses with a twinkle in his eye. This man is a storyteller and talks about many things from grand-parenting to farming in Yorkshire. So many wonderful gems from him! I am also fascinated listening to the older generation's 'origin stories' as they were around for the shift in gen...
Nicole is a woman with a mission. This mother of a 16 month old girl wants to learn and explore wellness for children. She has created a Facebook page to explore and share resources with other like-minded parents and children's specialists. I'm an admin on the page as well. Look for our "Be Well Kids" page on Facebook. I learned AFTER the interview that Nicole is an incredibly gifted singer/songwri...
I'm calling this the end of Season 1 with Season 2 out in a few weeks. Looking forward to talking to more amazing people in 2025!
To me, Linda is in that cutting edge of the generation of women in the 70's that exercised their rights to be treated as equals. So fascinating to listen to her journey - the things we all take for granted now, she had to stand strong against the current - keeping her maiden name, living with her boyfriend instead of marrying him. . . it was really a wonderful pleasure to talk to her. If you want to hear more abo...
Matt is a fellow songwriter/composer who has raised two great kids. He may be the first interview I've done where I've never met the kids, I just know the parent. There is no doubt in my mind that his kids are awesome. We have a wonderful conversation AND, he brings his guitar and plays us a tune! Check out Matt's other music here: https://mattburd.bandcamp.com/
Sara is a busy mother, and local mezzo-soprano with an active performing & teaching career. We talk about balancing so many different things. Plus, aligning our actions with our ideas, particularly as parents. We cover some of the big challenges like seeking balance, teaching resilience and being authentic about what's really happening in your world. My favourite quote from the episode is 'Nobody has the...
I had a mission inviting Melba back to the podcast. I wanted to shift the listener's perspective that she can be intimidating. She does have a straight-forward confidence, but if you listen to her words instead of focusing on her intensity, you will hear that her life is not always easy. If you follow her on Instagram, you'll see the many dimensions of her endeavours. This influencer's original intervie...

Tyler has a fascinating story behind his journey becoming a parent. As a same sex, multi-racial couple, there were many obstacles to overcome. But his ability to persevere and remain positive made their dreams come true. As Tyler and his partner embark upon a new journey to expand their family, he believes that speaking about your dreams and goals helps you achieve them.
My Mom raised 4 children and built a successful career as a piano teacher and member of the piano teaching community, sitting on many local and provincial boards in many roles, including president. She was born just outside New York City a few years before WWII. Boy, has she seen a LOT of changes. It was really neat hearing her perspective on our modern world, as well as the a challenges and struggles of parents of an...
Rose is open and direct about her life, its wins and struggles and particularly her aptitude for taking a problem and doing what needs to be done to move forward. She applies this to all of her life and has been successful as a mother and entrepreneur. Certainly she has struggled and talks honestly about it, yet she moves forward with intention and intensity. I highly recommend her services if you are even THINKING ab...
Looking forward to ongoing Miss Tweetie's Parents episodes and am shifting to every other week as my life is getting busier this fall!
Angela is a gifted teacher, guide and confidant to the children who have had the good fortune to work with her. She may not have children of her own, but she has many interesting perspectives for parents, and seems to recognize how hard parenting must be. She is open about her own mental health struggles and is an inspiration to anyone who has wondered 'why they're here' and if they'll ever figure ...

There's nothing like parenting to challenge those practices. Jess also guides and instructs others to use breathing & grounding practices to help them learn to make a quick shift in those tough moments, even with a 2 and 4 year old!
Julie has a kaleidoscope of exposure when it comes to parenting. Starting out as a school teacher, not only has she raised her own two children, she has been a parenting coach & mentor for over 20 years. She has also had a life long involvement in the arts as a singer & eventually a coach, which now includes working with children & families. You have heard her on the radio, either talking about parenting...
