Gettysburg National Military Park, Pennsylvania. The Battle of Gettysburg was
fought from July one to three, eighteen sixty three, during
the American Civil War. This battle was a decisive moment
that determined the fate of the nation. Today, Gettysburg National
Military Park in Pennsylvania is considered a hallowed ground that
(05:54):
bears witness to the immense sacrifice and tragedy during those
three faithful days. How the many tales that have emerged
from the battlefield, one legend stands out, the legend of
the Ghostly Sentinel. According to local lore, a lone Union
soldier continues to stand guard over Cemetery Ridge, a prominent
(06:14):
location on the battlefield where fierce fighting occurred. This spectral figure,
known only as the Ghostly Sentinel, is said to manifest
under the cover of night, faithfully re enacting his duty,
as if frozen in time. Witnesses describe a translucent figure
dressed in a Union uniform, rifle in hand, pacing back
(06:36):
and forth with another worldly dedication to duty. The origins
of the Ghostly Sentinel legend can be traced back to
the desperate and bloody clashes on Cemetery Ridge during the
Battle of Gettysburg. This ridge played a crucial role in
the Union victory, serving as a defensive line against Confederate forces.
The intensity of the fighting and the immense loss of
(06:58):
life left an endolmele on the land, creating an atmosphere
charged with the energy of the fallen. Many believe the
ghostly Sentinel is the spirit of a Union soldier who
perished during the battle, eternally bound to the duty he
performed in life. Some accounts suggest that the soldier may
have been tasked with delivering crucial messages or standing guard
(07:19):
at a strategic point on the ridge. The trauma of
war and the untimely end to his earthly existence are
believed to have trapped his spirit in a perpetual state of vigilance.
Over the years, numerous visitors, historians, and paranormal enthusiasts have
reported erie encounters with this ghostly sentinel. Some claim to
(07:39):
have seen the spectral figure standing stoically in the moonlight,
while others have heard phantom footsteps and the faint echoes
of commands shouted across the battlefield. The legend has become
ingrained in Gettysburg's cultural fabric, adding to this historic site's mystique. Now,
skeptics attribute these sightings to the power of suggestion, the

driver notices a figure on the side of the road,
a hitchhiker needing assistance. Perhaps feeling a sense of compassion,
the driver decides to stop and offer a ride to
(09:50):
the mysterious stranger. The hitchhiker, often described as a woman

the car without uttering a w The driver, attempting to

Upon reaching a certain point in the park, the driver
turns to speak to the hitchhiker, only to discover that
she has vanished without a trace. The sudden disappearance leaves
the driver in a state of shock and disbelief. Confused
and frightened, the driver continues the journey with a lingering

about the hitchhiker's identity, local residents and park rangers share
a common realization. The hitchhiker matches the description of a
woman who met a tragic fate in the park years ago.

woman supposedly named Eleanor, who in the late nineteenth century
lived in a small cabin near what is now known
as Bear Lake. Elinor was known for ethereal beauty, with
long flowing hair as dark as the night, and eyes
that sparkled like the stars above. She was deeply in
love with a young ranger who worked in the park,

and the two shared a love that seemed destined to
last a lifetime. Unfortunately, tragedy struck one faithful winter when
the ranger went missing and was never found while patrolling
the park during a fierce snowstorm. Distraught and grief stricken,
Eleanor ventured out into the unforgiving wilderness in search of
her beloved. However, the harsh conditions of the Rocky Mountains

in the picturesque hills of Kentucky, is renowned for its
(14:53):
vast and intricate underground labyrinth, holding secrets and mysteries the
captivate the imagination. Among the many legends surrounding this natural wonder,
one stands out the legend of the Phantom Lantern. The
cave takes on an eerie and mysterious aura as the
sun sets over the dense forest in limestone hills, casting
long shadows across the landscape. On certain moonlight nights, a
(15:18):
phantom lantern can be seen flickering deep within the caverns,
beckoning those brave enough to venture into the heart of
Mammoth Cave. The legend begins centuries ago, long before the
park became a national treasure. According to local lore, a
miner named Ezekiel Baxter was among the first to explore
the depths of Mammoth Cave in the early nineteenth century.
(15:40):
Armed with a little more than a lantern and a sense
of adventure, Baxter descended into the darkness, discovering passages and
chambers never seen by human eyes before. As he delved
deeper into the labyrinth, Maxter stumbled upon a hidden chamber
bathed in an otherworldly glow. In the center of the chamber,
he allegedly found on an ancient lantern, its flame burning
(16:02):
with a spectral light. Mesmerized by the unearthly radiance, Baxter
reached out to touch the latern, and in that moment
he became the Keeper of the Phantom Lantern. From that
day forward, Baxter was said to possess an otherworldly connection
to Mammoth Cave. The lantern allowed him to navigate the
(16:24):
twisting tunnels with uncanny precision, and he became a legendary
guide for those dairy enough to follow him into the
underground world. His reputation as the Keeper of the Phantom
Lantern spread far and wide, drawing explorers and thrill seekers
from distant lands. However, the lantern's power came at a cost.
Consumed by an insatiable curiosity, Baxter spent more and more
(16:47):
time in the cave's deps, his once human form gradually
becoming ethereal and translucent. Some claim to have seen him
vanish into the walls of Mammoth Cave, becoming one with
the very rock and stone he had once ex lord.
The legend of the Phantom Lantern has persisted through the
generations and to this day, visitors to Mammoth Cave National
(17:08):
Park speaking hush tones about the mysterious light that dances

Crying Ghost of Acadian National Park, Maine. In the heart
of Acadian National Park, nestled among the rugged landscapes and
(17:55):
towering pine trees, lives a tale as old as time
itself of the crying Ghost. The spectral figure is said
to haunt the park, its mournful cries echoing through the
mis laden valleys and rocky cliffs that defined this enchanting
corner of Maine. The story begins many decades ago and
a small village that once thrived near the park's borders.
(18:18):
The village, now long forgotten and reclaimed by nature, was
home to a young woman named Isabella. Isabella was renowned
for her ethereal beauty and a voice that could rival
the songbirds that frequented the park. Isabella fell deeply in
love with a local fisherman named Samuel. Their love was
the talk of the village, and soon they were planning
(18:40):
of life together. However, fate had other plans. Samuel, drawn
by the promise of prosperity and distant waters, set sail
out of faithful voyage, leaving Isabella behind. With a heavy heart.
Days turned to weeks, and weeks to months, but Samuel's
boat never returned. Isabella clung to hope, scanning the horizon
(19:03):
for any side of his vessel. As the seasons changed,
the village mourned the loss of its men at sea,
but Isabella's grief set her apart. Her haunting melodies, once
filled with joy, now echoed the pain of a heart
shattered by loss. One stormy night, as the winds howled
through the cliffs and waves crashed against the rocks, Isabella
(19:24):
received news that would seal her tragic fate. Samuel's boat
had been lost to the tempest, and he was presumed deceased.
The shock and despair overwhelmed Isabella, and her grief manifested
in a series of mournful whales that echoed through the village.
Isabella's spirit, unable to find solace in the afterlife, is
(19:45):
said to have lingered in Acadian National Park. The legend
tells of a ghostly figure, veiled and misst wandering the
trails and weeping by the shores. Hikers and visitors claimed
to have heard the haunting cries, a sorrowful melody sending
the boundaries of the living and the dead. Locals worn
against venturing too deep into the park after sunset for
(20:07):
fear of encountering the Crying Ghost. Some say that those
who listen closely may catch a glimpse of Isabella's ethereal form,
a translucent figure moving through the shadows with a mournful grace.
Despite the eerie tales, Acadian National Park remains a place
of unparalleled beauty, drawing nature enthusiasts and adventures from foreign wide.
(20:29):
The legend of the Crying Ghost serves as a poignant
reminder of the power of love and loss, etching its
spectral presence into the very fabric of this majestic landscape.
With the beauty of nature and the echoes of the
past merge in a haunting harmony. Next the Lost Miners
of Joshua Tree National Park, California. Nestled within the rugged
(20:53):
expanse of Joshua Tree National Park in California lies a
tale as haunting as the barren landscape itself, Legend of
the Lost Miners. This ghostly narrative, whispered through the wind
sculpted rocks and twisted Joshua trees, recounts a tragic chapter
in the region's history, where a group of brave miners
met an untimely demise, leaving behind a spectral legacy that
(21:16):
continues to captivate the imaginations of those who venture into
this otherworldly desert terrain. The story dates back to the
late nineteenth century, during the height of the California gold Rush.
Eager to strike it rich, a group of prospectors ventured
into the unforgiving wilderness of what is now Joshua Tree
National Park. Driven by tales of untold wealth hidden within
(21:39):
the rocky crevices, they set out with pick axes, shovels,
and dreams of a prosperous future. These miners, however, would
soon discover that the harsh desert held more than just
golden promises. As the legend goes, the group entered a
labyantine network of canyons and ravines, chasing elusive veins of
(21:59):
precious meads. With each passing day, the terrain grew more treacherous,
and the once promising prospects became a labyrinth of confusion.
Lost in the unforgiving landscape, the miners faced dwindling supplies
and a growing desperation that drove them to make a
faithful decision, digging deeper into the earth in hopes of
uncovering an escape route. Days turned to nights, and the
(22:23):
desolation of the desert took its toll on the miners.
Some succumbed to exhaustion, while others fell victim to the
harsh elements. The relentless sun beat down on them during
the day, and the chilling desert winds how through the
canyons at night. Ultimately, none of the miners found the
salvation they sought, and their makeshift mine became their final
(22:44):
resting place. Since that ill fated expedition, visitors to Joshua
Tree National Park have reported eerie sightings and unexplained phenomena
near the lost miners supposed resting place. Some claim to
have heard phantom pickaxe strike echoing through the canyons, while
others speak of flickering ghostly lights that dance among the
(23:05):
rocks at night. Whispers of disembodied voices, and apparitions of
spectral figures have only fueled the mistake surrounding the lost miners.
Though the historical records of this ill fated money expedition
are scarce, the ghostly legend persist passed down through generations
as a cautionary tale of the unforgiving nature of the
(23:26):
desert and the consequences of greed. Today, as misters explore
the rugged beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, they tread
lightly mindful of spectral miners said to roam the canyons.
Whoever bound to the landscape they sought to conquer. The
lost miners, it seems, have become an integral part of
(23:46):
the desert's enigmatic allure, a ghostly reminder of the price
one might pay when seeking fortunes in the shadows of
Joshua Tree's timeless beauty. Next Stagecoach of Zion National Park,
Utah Now. The Legend of the Phantom Stage Coach is
(24:06):
a mysterious and chilling tale that echoes through the breathtaking
canyons of Zion National Park in Utah. This spectral story
has been passed down through generations, captivating the imaginations of
locals and visitors alike who traverse the park's rugged terrain.
As the sun dips down below the towering sandstone cliffs,
(24:27):
casting long shadows across the red rock landscape, the stage
is set for the haunting tale to unfold. According to legend,
In the late nineteenth century, a stage coach carrier group
of warried travelers embarked on a treacherous journey through the
wiles of Zion. Unaware of the looming danger, the passengers
(24:47):
marveled at the other worldly beauty of the canyons surrounding them.
As the stage coach rumbled along the dusty trail, The
driver urged the horses forward, pushing them to their limits,
to reach the safety of the next mixed outpost before nightfall.
Little did they know that their path would take them
through a desolate and airy canyon stretch, where the walls
(25:07):
seemed to close in, creating another worldly atmosphere. Legend has
it that the stagecoach suddenly stopped in the shadow of
the tearing cliffs. Spooked by an unseen force, the horses
neighed in terror, their eyes wide with fear. The passengers
exchanged nervous glances, their senses on high alert. Then a
(25:30):
ghostly figure materialized before them, the phantom stagecoach. The apparition,
shrouded in a misty glow, seemed frozen in time. The passengers,
paralyzed with fear, watched in awe as the ghostly stagecoach
and its spectral horses stood before them. The air became thick,
(25:50):
with an unnatural silence, broken only by the faint whispers
of the wind through the canyon. As the legend goes,
the phantom stagecoach appears only when the sun sets over
at Zigon National Park, and those who witnesses ghostly presence
are said to be marked by an otherworldly connection to
the spirit realm. Some claim to hear the faint echoes
(26:10):
of laughter and conversation from the ghostly passengers, while others
speak of a haunting feeling that lingers long after the
apparition disappears into the shadows. Over the years, many have
tried to unravel the mystery of the Phantom Stagecoach. Still,
the legend enders adding an extra layer of intrigue to
the already enchanting landscape of Zion National Park with their
(26:34):
product of the imagination or a glimpse into the past.
The tale of the Phantom Stagecoach continues to capture the
hearts and minds of those who venture into the canyons,

after the sun has set and the moon has arisen.

We guy, all right, seeing the flip flop. All right, folks,
here we go. I'll be back with you right after this.

to leave you on the edge of your seat, questioning
what lurks in the darkness and what secrets lie hidden
(48:48):
in the night so dim the lights. Settle in and
prepare yourself for a journey into the realm of the unexplained,
unsettling event I encountered in the woods of north Idaho.
I grew up in the rural woods of the Midwest.
My grandparents had a cabin on one hundred and sixty
(49:10):
acres in the Ozarks, and my family home was in
the woods of Ohio. And now live out west in
a large city with my husband and kids. But his
family has a cabin in northern Idaho where we spend
a lot of time in the summer. That's where this
all took place. So when I say I know the woods,
(49:31):
I really do. This happened a few years ago in
the middle of summer. We had arrived at the cabin,
only to realize my husband somehow had totally spaced and
forgot to pack my hiking boots. I was livid because
all I had on were cheap flipflops and I'd been
so so looking forward to hiking that weekend. He kind
(49:54):
of put a sour mood to the evening and we
settled in. The cabin isn't much, and though in the
woods it's part of a community or cluster by the cabins,
the one perk to ours is that it's right against
a large field surrounded by woods. It's private property and
there's some weird stories in history with the family that
owns it. But that field is mostly abandoned. We have
(50:19):
a four foot barbaroiar fence that runs the link to
the field to separate AirLand from that. It's not too
far from the cabin. I'd say maybe twenty feet from
our porch to the fence line. That night, after dinner,
I made up the air mattresses for the kids, folded
out the sofa bed for us. Soon everyone else was asleep,
(50:41):
but since I have horrible insomnia, I was still up
around two am, reading my kindle and sipping wine when
I heard the most god awful noise. I slipped my
flip flops on and poked my head out the front door.
There was a sound coming from the field. I stepped
out onto the porch to listen more intently. It's the
(51:05):
sound of a coyote being hurt. At first, I thought
possibly I was stuck in a trap, and I got
so so angry. My husband's family are known for our dogs,
and the idea of someone was trapping near us made
me so angry. I cannot tell you or why, but
every cell in my body was screaming for me to
(51:26):
help it. I ran inside to get a flashlight. It
was a new moon, so a zero light outside, and
once again found myself upset. I didn't have my boots.
There was no way I was going to make it
even to the fence line in my flip flops between
the woods and terrain. It was happening near the corner
(51:47):
of our property. It can best be called a trash sheet,
an abandoned camp of a woodpile, metal drums for burning, etc.
I had no idea what I could even do to help,
but I just so badly it felt like I had
to do something, So I went back outside and all
I could do was listen. The more I listened, the
(52:10):
more I realized it was being attacked by something. And
that's when the hair on my neck stood up. I
realized everything was dead quiet. I have never before or
after heard the woods like that. Whatever was attacking the
coyote was also doing it silently. No snarl, no bark
(52:33):
or yip, no growl. And as I stood there, frozen
and listening, I heard the final noises as the cowoty died.
I had tears in my eyes because it was such
an awful sound. As soon as it died, I was
hit with the force of the sounds around me. Suddenly
(52:53):
the neighbors dogs were howling and barking, the bugs and
crickets started up. It was like a switch had been
It went from no sound to all the sounds in
the blink of an eye. And that's when I heard
the footsteps. Whatever had attacked to coyote was suddenly on
(53:14):
our side of the fence. It was walking along the
fence line, and it clearly was my pedal. I cannot
stress this enough. I grew up in the woods. Humans
and animals sounded different, and this sounded human. It was
clearly walking on two legs. I kept staring along the line,
(53:38):
trying to see whatever it was. But as the footsteps
grew closer to the middle of the property and I
still couldn't see anything, I panicked and ran quickly back
into the cabin. I locked the door and grabbed a
hatchet and woke my husband up. I couldn't believe he
was able to sleep through everything. He hadn't heard a thing.
(54:00):
The next morning, we went directly to where I told
him the sound was coming from the attack, but couldn't
see anything though. The field at that time of year
is like four foot tall grass, and we didn't expect
to see anything, and I was not about to hop
the fence to go looking for trouble. I will say
I had never been so thankful to not have had
(54:22):
boots that weekend, because without a doubt I would have
tried to hop that fence that night. I just know
I would have. Something in me was screaming out to
make it stop. Anyway. I'm sure this is rambling a bit,
but I felt so alone on this for years. My
husband believes me, but I mean, we have no logical answers.
(54:47):
Thank you Anonymous. My story of little People. My story
occurred in Jai Toe, Arizona. This incident occurred during the
summer of nineteen eighty three, when I was eleven years old.
(55:07):
I remember I was eleven years old because that's the
summer my father quit racing horses and started staying home.
So this particular evening, I went for a walk with
my siblings and my two dogs. My dogs would always
be way ahead of us in the woods, somewhere chasing
squirrels or something. I was ahead of everyone too, trying
(55:28):
to beat them to the hill. Right before the hill,
there's an old house down in the little valley. As
I was walking past the old house, I saw something
move out of my peripheral vision to my right, so
I looked to my right down to the ground. I
saw small people, about ten of them maybe more. They
(55:49):
all stopped in their tracks and stared at me in shot.
I was in shock too about what I just came upon.
I remember they were about a foot tall, with black
sha short hair, maybe shoulder lengked, and bushy. They were
all naked, no clothes on, but they had no private parts,
so I don't know if they were all males. Two
(56:11):
of them were carrying a can, which was a spam can.
One was in front and the other was in back
carrying the back end of the can. Those were the
ones I spotted first, and then I saw the rest.
They all were carrying something in their hands. They all
had long, skinny arms and long skinny legs. As I
(56:33):
started walking towards them, they all dropped what they had
in their hands and ran together towards a single area
by a big sage bush. One by one, they all
sank into the ground. I stopped in my tracks too
when I saw them going into the ground. I couldn't
believe what I was seeing. When they had all gone
(56:55):
into the ground, I ran to the same area and
started digging. I dug out sand about a foot deep,
but I couldn't find anything. That particular area is sandy
because the water runs through there when it rains. As
my siblings walked up to me and asked what I
was doing, I told them what I'd just seen, and
(57:16):
I showed them the small footprints and what they'd left behind.
I went back there every day for the whole summer,
but I never saw them again. I even sat on
a big boulder nearby and watched if they would come out.
Never did. My family still owns that land, so when
I go there, which is once in a great while,
(57:38):
I go by and check for footprints. Nothing. Yet I
will never forget what I saw that day. I'm glad
I got to experience something so incredible like that. I'm
glad my dogs never came upon them, because I don't
know what would have happened. I've never told my story
to anyone before. Only my parents, my siblings, my husband,
(58:02):
and my kids know about my experience. My father told
me to stay away from them is they're part of
Mother Earth too. I don't remember what he calls them.
He said it in either Spanish or Navajo, so I
don't remember. Thank you for allowing me to share my story.
Renee Yosemite, Half Dome. This happened around August of twenty nineteen.
(58:33):
I'm not sure what we experienced or if there was
anything odd about it, but whatever, it's also a bit
of a long story. Sorry about that. So this was
a high cup to half Dome. We had a campground
about a twenty minute drive away from the trailhead, and
the group was composed of me, an eighteen year old male,
(58:54):
my uncle, a thirty two year old male, and my
uncle's friend, whom i'll call d. There were two girls
with us, but they aren't relevant to the story. My
uncle and his friend are both Christian, so there were
no substances consumed that could induce the feelings I will
be talking about. We get to their campsite, set up camp,
(59:17):
and go to sleep after eating. We planned to wake
up at four am and start the hike by four
point thirty. I randomly wake up at three thirty am,
like completely wide awake and look out of my hammock
and I remember fitting this odd feeling, as if I
was woken up by something. And I remember looking out
(59:38):
at the moonlit scene. The moon was very bright for
some reason, and thinking to myself, it looks like a dream.
I lay back in the hammock, but can't go to
sleep and end up waking up my uncle and friend
at three fifty am. My uncle asked me, were you
walking around at night? This is important? And I say
(01:00:03):
no and ask why. He says he woke up for
some reason and could hear someone walking around, not like
an animal but a person. I say, huh, weird, and
we brush it off. We get to the trailhead around
four thirty am. As everyone is unloading from the car.
(01:00:23):
He says he's going to use the bathroom, which there
are a couple of before the trailhead. I walk behind
him for some time before falling behind and waiting for
my uncle, who forgot something in the car. The short
straight road from the parking lot runs directly into a
t intersection with the road to the trailhead, and the
(01:00:44):
bathroom is directly across from the intersection through a field
a little ways. Those who have been there know what
I'm talking about. We get to the intersection and wait
for d to come out of the bathroom. We wait
about ten minutes before I go and check the bathroom
and he isn't there. I get back to my uncle
(01:01:05):
and tell him that. He says, weird, maybe he went
back to the car or something. We decided to wait
a little bit more. By five ten, we were beginning
to worry. My uncle goes to check the car while
I wait at the intersection to make sure we don't
miss him if he went down the road away from
the trailhead. My uncle returns says he isn't there either.
(01:01:29):
We decided maybe he went up to the trailhead without
us for some reason, and walk up there. In about
ten minutes, he isn't there either. We're kind of baffled
now because there are no other logical places he would go.
I decided to run back and check the car in
the bathroom again. I meet him halfway before I get
(01:01:51):
to the intersection. He's sweaty and disheveled, with a weird
look in his eyes. I say, where have you been?
He says that he went to the bathroom and when
he got back to the intersection that we weren't there,
and that he just assumed. We went to the trailhead
and started walking, and then he met me. I said,
what do you mean. We waited at the intersection for
(01:02:13):
for half an hour, checked at the car, bathroom and trailhead,
and you weren't there. He says, well, I don't know.
I went to the bathroom. He then asked me where
my uncle is. I say, at the trailhead, and he
asked me again, and I tell him again, and note
that it was weird that he asked me twice. As
(01:02:35):
we're crossing the bridge to the trailhead and he sees
a light off on the river bank and exclaims, oh,
maybe that's him, and I just look at him and
keep walking. I thought his behavior was very strange, like
he wasn't thinking straight. We finally get on with a
hike and it goes by as normal, except that we
seem to keep losing things such as my uncle's small
(01:02:58):
red flashlight, well, the girl's gloves, a water bottle, etc.
It's like we just simply forgot about the items and
couldn't remember where we could have left them. On the
way back, it got dark and we turned on our
flashlights and as we near the end, of the hike.
After the two waterfalls, it begins to seem if we've
(01:03:20):
been walking far too long. My uncle confirms this, asking me,
doesn't it seem like it's taking way longer to get back?
I say, yeah, but I was just thinking that we
keep walking, but it still seems like we're not making
any progress. I've been on that trail many times. As
(01:03:40):
I was walking, I couldn't spot any familiar landmarks. It
was weird. There was this odd feeling in the air,
sort of a slight, menacing feeling. It's hard to describe.
I remember thinking, it feels like the woods are alive.
Ark three more times about how long the hike is taking,
(01:04:02):
and began to laugh at it because it felt so ridiculous.
After a bit, we finally and suddenly find ourselves on
the final stretch and make it back to the car. Now,
all this seemed odd at the time, but I just
brushed it off. Only realized how weird those events felt
after we got home and my aunt asked my uncle,
(01:04:25):
were you camping? And he says, yeah, how did you know?
As we didn't tell them we were going since it
was kind of last minute. She says that she had
an odd dream or she saw my uncle in a
tin in a forest and someone is outside of his tent.
She says she couldn't see who it was, but knew
(01:04:48):
there was a presence there. She says she woke up
around three am and had the strong urge to pray
for him, and she did. My uncle kind of looks
at me after that. Are you hearing this shit? Thank
you for allowing me to share my story. Tim strange
(01:05:12):
experience in Starved Rock State Park, Illinois. I had a
very strange experience twelve years ago in Starved Rock State Park, Illinois.
It was so bizarre at the time I never discussed it.
I began reading the Missing four to one one stories
(01:05:32):
a few weeks ago and realized what I encountered fits
into the Missing four to one one profile. Additionally, since
many of the Missing four to one one stories border
on the unexplainable and bizarre, I feel what I encountered
was not unique, that it was part of an actual phenomena.
Here's my story. I was visiting my girlfriend in Chicago
(01:05:57):
on a Sunday and calm winter day. We decided to
go for a high at Starved Rock State Park. I'm
an avid hiker, and being on leave from Iraq, I
wanted to take in some cool, fresh air. We hiked
the park for several hours. In late afternoon, we started
heading back to the car. About a half mile away
(01:06:17):
from the parking lot, we came into an area where
tree branches were broken and pulled towards or over the trail.
Most of the branches were broken high up I'd say
eight feet and more off the ground. I lived in
Washington State before going to Iraq and knew something of
sasquatch areas, so I told the girlfriend it looked like
a squatch area, Dude. The branch is broken off, up
(01:06:39):
high and pulled over the trail. That's about the time
things started to get strange. Soon after mentioning this, I
felt like someone was staring at me. It's like if
you go in a room with a lot of people
and someone is focused on you, you get an uneasy feeling
and can tell you're being wont It was like this,
(01:07:02):
but stronger. I started to look around to see who
was watching me. It was winter and the forest was
visible a hundreds of feet in all directions. There was
a group of walkers several hundred feet behind us, and
no one in front of us, but I saw no
one staring at me. As we passed through the squatch area,
(01:07:25):
I began to have the feeling someone was behind me
following us. I looked around and listened, but saw and
heard nothing. There was just people four hundred feet or
so back on the trail, and they were talking amongst themselves.
They weren't looking our way. The sense of someone being
behind me was persistent, so I kept looking behind me.
(01:07:47):
I'd say at least twice a minute, but there was
just a group way back there. The feeling of being
watched is one thing. The feeling like someone is close
behind you as something else, it is more disturbed. I
told the girlfriend to go further in front of me
and let her go about twenty feet in front because
I had a strong sensation of a nearby presence just
(01:08:08):
behind us. So I turned around not more than thirty
seconds since the last time I looked back, and there's
this woman there. She was walking but coming up on
me fast. There was something way off about her speed.
She was walking when I spotted her, but her speed
was much faster than her gait. It was if she
(01:08:31):
were at of people move her escalator like in an airport.
She was coming up fast and was i'd say, no
more than fifteen or twenty feet behind me. When I
saw her, I was rather alarmed and glared at her.
She stopped. When our eyes met. I gave her a
look like, wtf are you doing? Coming upon me like that?
(01:08:52):
We stood there staring at each other. Neither was smooth.
She had her head cocked back, turned left and looked
at me from the corner of her eyes and a
slightly alarmed, you caught me type of look. She was
completely normal, looking like a local Chicago lady, late fifties,
wearing a bright red winter coat, gloves, slacks, etc. In hindsight,
(01:09:15):
there are a few other things besides her speed which
stand out. The first thing is there was no sound,
no footsteps, no rustling in the woods, nothing to tell
me to turn around, other than the strong sense of
something behind me, which I'd had for a bit. At
the speed she was moving, she would have had to
have been running hard, but I heard no footsteps, she
(01:09:36):
was not breathing hard, and her mouth was closed. Her
gate was a walking gate. She was not running. However,
she was moving towards me at a running speed I
mean fast, when she stopped, I'd say she was less
than twenty feet from me. At the speed she was
moving in one or two seconds should have been on me.
(01:10:00):
The next thing that stands out is her features. She
had no distinguishing features, none in her hair, skin, or clothing.
No shadowing or skin hues, dimples, etc. As a former
Army criminal investigator, I know to look for distinctive markings
on people in clothing. There were none. I'd estimated her
(01:10:22):
height it five foot ten inches. Her clothes were of
uniform coloring and indistinct It was like she just stepped
out of a department store. Her bright red coat was pristine,
with a uniform hue to it. There wasn't even shading,
which there should have been given the clear sky and
a low sun. After staring at each other for I'd
(01:10:44):
say five to ten seconds, I felt like I got
my point across, so I turned around and continued walking.
The girlfriend had not noticed anything and had continued walking.
I took about three steps and realized there was no
way she could have come up from that grip in
the thirty or so seconds since I'd last looked back.
(01:11:04):
There was also nowhere to come from on either side.
Visibility at that point was one hundreds of feet all around.
I said to myself, no way, and spun back around.
She was gone, simply vanished. I checked the group behind us,
and no one had a red coat on or was
looking at us. There was no one else around, and
(01:11:26):
there had been no sounds other than my footfalls. The
woman just vanished. From that point it took us about
ten minutes to reach the car, but the remainder of
the wall I did not feel like I was being
stared at or followed. I've never been back to Star
Rock State Park and have no intention of going back.
(01:11:48):
The whole thing was bizarre. How was I supposed to
tell anyone about that? So I never have? My mental
state was fine. I have a high IQ and a
twenty year career in a stem field following army service.
At the time, I was working add contract in Iraq.
(01:12:09):
I was well rested and relaxed, being on vacation with
the girlfriend. There were no drugs or alcohol in Paul.
These are strictly prohibited in my line of work and
were grounds for media termination under mnfi's G ONE, which
I was subject to at the time. I've carried this
experience around for twelve plus years being unable to talk
(01:12:29):
about it because it was so exceptional and unexplainable. It's
a relief to read similar stories of unusual encounters and disappearances.
After reading many missing four to one one accounts and
the profile of disappearances, I believe I narrowly averted being
snatched by whatever that thing was. I do not think
(01:12:51):
it was the woman I saw. I think it was
something different which I could not see. Thank you, Anonymous,
eerie footsteps behind us. When I was around twelve years old,
my girlfriend and I went with my parents to an
isolated cabin that was only accessible by boat in northern Ontario, Canada,
(01:13:17):
near my dad's reservation called Serpent River. Anyway, my brother
was swimming in the lake, so my girlfriend and I
decided to hike up a hill that ended up being
quite steep with cedar trees all around us. So as
we were making our way up, we decided to sit
down and take a rest, as the ground was covered
in cedar needles and quite comfortable. As we were sitting there,
(01:13:38):
we were chatting because we could see my brother swimming
in the lake from quite up high on the hill.
We climbed then all of a sudden, the ground was
shaking underneath our butts, like something so heavy was running
behind us. It scared the daylights out of both of us,
and we high tailed it down that hill. We did
look behind us, but we could only feel it and
(01:13:58):
could not see anything. To this day, I've always wondered
what it could be. We thought the only possible thing
that could make the ground vibrate like that might be
a moose. But then again I just couldn't see or
why a moose would be so high up on a
hillside with rocks and cedar trees. It still perplexes me
to this day. Anonymous, unexplained, invisible or cloaked, being slash humanoid.
(01:14:31):
When I was about five years old, I was playing
by the edge of the woods behind my grandmother's house.
I played there often, and my grandmother just kept an
eye on me from the kitchener living room. Because the
house had huge windows that faced the woods. She would
come out every once in a while just to see
what I was up to. I was obsessed with digging
in the dirt and collecting unusual rocks and arrowheads that
(01:14:53):
littered the land where my grandmother lived. I should mention
This as midwest Illinois, not too far from Kajochio Mounds,
so finding airheads was actually not that uncommon. Anyway, that day,
I remember picking out a spot to dig. I'd been
out there for quite a while because I remember I
(01:15:15):
had a pretty decent sized hole going when something caught
my eye up in the tree that I was next to.
I almost don't know how to explain it, but it
looked like almost a heat wave coming off the branch
of the tree. It was fall I remember this because
I had my pink jacket on. I remember thinking my
mom was going to be pissed because I had dirt
around the bottom of the arms from digging. I also
(01:15:38):
remember there being a lot of leaves on the ground. Anyway,
I'm staring at this heat wave and realize it has
a human shape. So here I am five years old
and wondering why there's an invisible man in the tree.
I remember feeling scared but unsure what to do. Then
(01:15:59):
it started moving and making a faint clicking sound. This
is about the time that I decided that I was
not supposed to be seeing this, and I I tailed
it back to the house. My grandmother saw. I was
pretty shaken, and I remember telling her that I just
saw an angel. In my five year old mind, I
didn't know what else it could be. I'd never heard
(01:16:22):
of aliens, or ghosts or monsters, so to me, it
had to be an angel, because that's all my little
mind could think of. Fast forward to when I was
about twelve years old. By this time, the encounter was
way out of my mind. I loved watching action and
sci fi movies. My dad rented a movie called Predator.
(01:16:43):
I'm watching it with him, and the first time you
see the Predator invisible slash cloaked, I about shaped my pants.
All the memories from that day digging in the dirt
came flooding back. I even asked my dad if Predator
was real, if he knew if anyone or any animal
that had cloaking a bill that I didn't know about.
He told me it was all fake. It wasn't like
(01:17:05):
it is today where I could just google it. I
had no access to the internet, so again I just
put it out of my mind again. Fast forward to
about the year two thousand and four. I'm grown now,
I have three small children. I just went through a
separation from my husband. I moved to the next town
over to an apartment with my kids. These apartments are
(01:17:28):
all one level duplexus, with there being five buildings. I'm
at the very last apartment of the last building. The
apartments are considered in town, but are on the outskirts.
There's a deep ditch that runs behind the buildings with
a chain link fence that separates the backyard from the ditch.
There's about six or seven trees on our side of
(01:17:50):
the fence, and if you follow the ditch a little bit,
he had a small force that eventually leads to the
country with a larger forest and farmland. I'm a smoker
who would not smoke in the apartment because of the kids,
so I often went out to the back porch. One night,
I was up late doing laundry and stuff. After the
(01:18:11):
kids went to bed, I decided to take a smoke
break before I myself went to sleep. So I'm back
there on the porch and I started hearing this faint
clicking sound. I immediately looked to the ditch because I'd
seen a groundhog out there a few days before and
thought perhaps he was out there again. The artist faintly
lit from the outside light that's by the playground that
(01:18:32):
is to the right of my back porch. I didn't
turn on my porch light. I didn't normally if I
was just going out for a quick smoke. I didn't
see any groundhog or movement from the ditch, so I
go back to smoking my cigarette. The faint clicking sound
keeps happening, and a slight shift of movement makes me
look up into the tree to the left of my porch.
(01:18:52):
It's there, the same invisible thing I'd seen when I
was five. It's like a distortion and in a humanoid shape.
It's crouched down on the branch with an arm out
holding onto the trunk of the tree. I couldn't believe it.
I was like, is this happening? Has it come to
kill me? From me seeing it all those years ago,
(01:19:16):
all I could think about was my kids in the
apartment sleeping. I ran in and slammed and locked the door.
I ran to the kids room and made sure all
the windows were locked. Then I just turned out the
lights in the living room and stared out the blinds
at the tree to see if I could catch another
glimpse of it. I sat there for a good ten
minutes and couldn't see anything. I began to think I
(01:19:39):
was just tired of my mind was playing tricks on me.
Just as I was finally talking myself down, a neighbor's
dog comes running across the yard and starts barking at
the tree, the same branch i'd seen this predator thing on.
That pretty much freaked me out because this dog was
not a barker. Actually never heard him barking anything, even
(01:20:01):
at the groundhog that had been hanging out at the ditch.
This barking went on for a few minutes until I
hear the neighbor lady who owns a dog, call him
back inside. The dog reluctantly turned to go back home,
stopping every few feet to look back at the branch
of the tree until it was out of my sight.
I didn't sleep that night, and I've never seen anything
(01:20:22):
like it again. I don't know what to think of it.
I'm a grown woman, I have kids, in a good career.
I just want to know if anyone else has ever
had an experience like this. I know what I saw,
believe it or not. Also, just to turn this a
little side note about my obsession with digging when I
was younger, I had an uncanny ability to just know
(01:20:45):
where to dig for stuff. Like I said, I used
to dig up arrowheads and unusual rocks and geodes all
the time. It was kind of strange. I remember this
one time I was fishing with my dad and when
we got back to the camp, I just started randomly
digging in the meadow off to the side of the camp.
I dug up a whole bunch of marbles. It was weird.
(01:21:06):
They were all pretty deep too. My dad was pretty
amazed by it. Thanks for taking the time to read this, Anonymous.
I'm not sure what happened to me in the woods.
I don't know if this is the same kind of stuff,
but someone said I should post this here. Okay, so
(01:21:29):
I know this is gonna sound crazy, and honestly, I've
spent a long time reading stories on here and called
bs on stories half as crazy as what happened to me.
I'm no writer, so I apologize in advance if I
don't explain this well. I love creepy stuff and spend
a lot of time listening to stories on YouTube and
reading them here in various other places. A friend of
(01:21:53):
mine came to me because she knows I love stuff
like this, and told me she had a strange experience
the other night with her boyfriend where she parked near
woods on the edge of town, and just as they
were about to start fooling around, something made a creepy,
giggling noise from the woods. Her boyfriend got out and
threw stones into the woods, thinking someone was playing a
(01:22:14):
prank or something. She said. He shined his phone light
into the woods and they both saw what looked like
tiny people scattering back into the woods. I asked how tiny,
She said about the size of her dog, which is
a little white, fluffy thing. I'm not sure what the
type is, but they're really small dogs. I drove up
(01:22:35):
to the woods that night to check it out, and
part near where she said she parked, but didn't hear anything.
So after a while I got out of the car
and went into the woods to look around. I didn't
want to go far in, and I swear I took
less than twenty steps into the woods when I heard
it laugh. It sounded like a little girl but off.
(01:22:56):
I'm not really sure how to explain it, but I
spun around and pointed my torch to where it had
come from, and there was nothing there. Then, as I
was looking around for what had made the sound, I
realized I was really far into the woods, like seriously
faring them, and I couldn't see my car or even
the road. I know I hadn't walked that far. I
(01:23:17):
was confused as hell, and when I went to head
back the where I came from, I wasn't even on
a path. I weirdly didn't panic, though, I remember being
what I would call drunk calm, like when someone kicks
off a problem in a bar, but you've had a few,
so you just have no reaction to it, like part
of you knows you should be reacting, but you're just not.
(01:23:40):
I just looked around and started walking and what I
felt was the right direction. But the more I walked,
I felt like I was dazed, and I kept thinking
it was because it was so hot. It was pretty
late at night, so it shouldn't been but I felt
like I was on a beach on holiday somewhere, and
I just kept thinking I need to cool down to
clear my head. So I sarted stripping. I'm seriously not
(01:24:03):
the kind of girl who just strips off, by the way,
like I'm not shy, but I don't do stuff like that,
but my head was just fuzzy, and I was convinced
i'd feel better if I took everything off, and I
was just dropping everything as I walked. I even dropped
my torch as I just felt like my eyes would
see better without it. I don't fully remember what was
(01:24:24):
going on after that. I felt like I was walking
for ages, like everything just felt like a dream, but
I felt comfortable even though I was naked. I still
felt like it was really warm. I don't know where
I was, but I remember finding a small pond and
trying to cool off by splashing the water over my
(01:24:44):
head and then sitting on the edge and dangling my
feet in the water. It felt deep, like I was
on the edge of a pool, like it was just
a straight edge going down, even though it looked like
it was a little more than a large buddle. I
remember it being really noth and cold. When I felt
a hand around my ankle, and then the second one
(01:25:05):
around the other, everything still just felt normal, though, like
I was thinking I should slide forward and lower myself
into the water because it was so nice and cool, like.
Even trying to remember it all, as much as I'm
freaked out, feels like just such a peaceful memory. I
could feel the hands around my ankles and I started laughing,
and something started tickling my feet. I'm not sure how
(01:25:29):
long this went on for, but in my memory it
feels like it was happening for hours. I was just
giggling and thinking about getting all the way into the water.
I'm not sure what broke me from my days, but
I feel like someone else was there who said something
to me. I remember pulling my feet out of the water,
(01:25:51):
the hands letting go without a fight, and then turning
around and walking away. Everything is blank though after I
started walking walking away, the next thing I remember is
being back in my car, suddenly very uncomfortable about being
naked and starting to panic. I seriously have considered going
(01:26:11):
back in the woods to find my clothes, but thankfully
decided against it, as I imagine a few awkward moments
getting home were better than risking the woods again. I
have no idea what to think about what happened, and
I'm pretty sure no one was going to believe me,
but I had to tell people about this. I mean,
has anyone experienced things like this before? Thank you Anonymous
(01:26:37):
dog man or unknown Krypton encounter. My name's John, and
I spent much of my childhood with my father, who
taught me how to hunt and fish. We had land
in Franklin County, which is the outskirts of Laurel, Indiana.
My father built her home and it was located just
about twenty yards from the deep Woods off Bulltown Road,
(01:27:01):
which was named that because when the farmers would take
their cattle to or from the market, that's the path
they would travel. That's now our road. We fished for
everything from bluegill, to trout, to bass, and the most
fun the infamous Blue Channel and flathead catfish. Hunting was
(01:27:22):
no different from squirrel rabbits to deer. My dad also
showed me how to noodle for snapping turtles, although I
never really had the nerve for that. My best times
were with him showing me what genseng, bloodroot, and rhubarbo
all looked like. I would go on those adventures, although
not having much luck finding them as it did the
(01:27:44):
Morrell mushrooms. I spent more days and nights in the
woods at riverbanks and lakes than I had ever had
or wanted to in some city setting. In these places
were my comfort zones where I felt at peace, where
I truly felt alive and closest to my creator, And
(01:28:04):
never ever had I experienced anything like what I had
in this January of twenty ten. It was early when
I got up and ready to head out squirrel hunting
off some property over by my uncle's house, which is
really the same romping ground as I ran with when
I was just a kid out hunting with my pop.
(01:28:24):
I was going to use my twenty two Marlin, which
was a good rifle with a Casco scope instead of
a shotgun, because to me, there was nothing worse than
picking out bugshot when you're trying and enjoy a hot
plate of fried mushrooms and biscuits with squirrel gravy. I
got out in the general area be where I wanted
to begin my hunt and found a nice hicred to
lean up against, and just as I usually do, I
(01:28:46):
leaned back, got really comfortable and began to rest my eyes.
Catch an app I figured really quick before I get
serious with squirrel hunting, so I listened for about five
minutes to see if I heard them cut in this direction,
that which a squirreln of cut is what we called
them chewing and breaking open hickory and walnut, just as
my usual routine, I fell asleep. I remember when I woke,
(01:29:11):
it was as if I was startled away, like if
someone had clapped loudly to get your tension next to
your face. I opened my eyes and was wondering, did
I actually hear that or was that just in my head?
I looked up and straight ahead of me and saw
something duck down behind a brama bush that was about
sixty seven feet tall and about fifty yards out from me. Again,
(01:29:33):
I wondered, am I saying things as well as hearing them?
Speaker 4 (01:29:38):
Now?
Speaker 5 (01:29:38):
I grew up here in aunts and uncles, cousins and
other trusted people telling stories of UFOs, No close encounters,
just lights in the sky. And as for Bigfoot, Aeron
the Henderson's came out when I was nine in nineteen
eighty seven, and it was something I thought, Sure, I
combite on that. This is me as a child, thinking
(01:29:58):
the earth was much bigger than it act actually is.
The endless redwood forest and the Amazon with Tarzan and
the tribes that have never seen civilized man. That's where
these creatures roamed. But what I saw, this was something
out of a Hollywood movie. I couldn't see very well still,
the sun hadn't quite came up over the horizon. As
(01:30:20):
for everything going silent, I was used to that because
the birds were barely even awake at this hour. I
took my gun and, thinking I'm about to catch someone
trespassing on the land, I moved the scope up to
my left eye and began to scan the width of
the briar bush, which was about ten to fifteen feet,
followed by a huge oak tree that ran parallel with
(01:30:41):
the bush. I couldn't make anything out. It all blended
in until I made out a sharply pointed ear. At
first I thought it was a bobcat because the tassel
of hair that was protruding out of the ear. But
as my eyes finally focused in more and trying to
decipher what was just bush and leaves to what was
hair and racial features, when I saw an eye on
(01:31:03):
the right side of his face looking at me. Registered
to me, there's no branches or limbs for any animals
such as a bobcat or county to be able to appear.
That's positioning itself upright on which I saw when I
first opened my eyes I know the moment when I
was looking at something I'd never seen before, because it
(01:31:25):
felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped
over my head, and almost simultaneously, my teeth began to chatter.
At that moment, I knew what I was looking at,
and it was most definitely looking at me. Had been
standing upright. I lowered my rifle because there was no
way on God's green earth that I was going to
(01:31:47):
try to fire on this animal lack of anything I'd
never seen before, an upright canine. I didn't turn my
back on him, but I slowly stood up. I was
about maybe fifty yards into the woods. My mind was
clear and focused, though, just don't turn you back, and
(01:32:07):
I walked slowly back to the road in my car.
It never showed itself fully, and I'm glad since this
has happened, I can't bring myself to hiking parks alone.
I don't go fishing at night if the area is secluded.
And those are just the long lasting effects. I was
about thirty two when this happened, so it's been ten years.
(01:32:32):
I would damn near have panic attacks taking out the
garbage what I grew up loving to do with my
father was now something I'm scared to do by myself.
My dad had passed away in nineteen ninety nine to
a drunk driver, and this encounter actually happened about twenty
days after I lost my mom in twenty ten to cancer.
So I never had the opportunity with the two people
(01:32:54):
I've been raised by out in the middle of the
sticks for their theory iungness. I do remember my father
telling me one night he went out to the wood
shed to grab a wheelbearer load of firewood with a stove.
I was young, so I didn't ask him to elaborate,
but he said when he had reached the shed he
heard a growl, a growl that made the hair on
(01:33:15):
the back of his next stand up put him in
an unter rush to get back into the house. I'll
explained other than that was it sure wasn't a bob
katter or coyote. Looking back, I wish I would have
pressed for more, because this man noodle snapping turtles and
was the only one the old bull of Grandpa's would respect.
(01:33:35):
In closing, I've only heard of dog Man in about
the last five years. I haven't shared my story, but
maybe with five people and I'll only ever say I
saw something in the woods that I can't explain, because
that sounds much more rational than you guys. I saw
a wearwalk. But I know I've come about as far
(01:33:56):
as I can to recover from this encounter. The story
of aliens, bigfoot, dog man, missing people, as well as
the plethora of other cryptids I've not mentioned. But I
can tell you now as I write, if you were
to tell me you've seen something in the woods, describe it,
can't explain it. I believe you because I've had my
(01:34:17):
encounter too, Signed John, Creature in the Woods. This only
happened several days ago, so my mind is still pondering
what happened. My friend and I are avid outdoorsman, primitive camping, hiking, etc. Etc.
(01:34:43):
There's this local county park with a weird, spooky history,
lots of people with odd sightings, menacing experiences, reportedly witchcraft.
You get the idea. Well, we were hiking there and
decide to follow a couple of game trails. We wanted
to get away from the casual hikers and really explore
(01:35:03):
the more unexplored parts of the forest. We'd gone several
miles in and came to an area with the lower
bush line, so our visibility was pretty good. All of
a sudden, the storm of acorns erupted around us, with
no wind to speak of. After this incident occurred, we
had this overwhelming sense of being watched. We'd gone another
(01:35:27):
several hundred yards when my friend calls out, what is that?
And when I look towards what he's pointing at, we
see this dark humanoid shape standing by a tree. It
was around four feet tall, dark brown to black in color,
and seemed to get highly agitated when I took notice
of it. The only way to describe its movement was
(01:35:50):
that it was lightly bouncing back and forth, giving off
an aggressive vibe. Instinctively, we both pull out our knives.
My friend also pulled out it acts and we felt
combat was inevitable. It kept watching us, emanating this aggressive energy.
For some reason, we decided to move towards it. What
(01:36:15):
happened next I cannot explain. It simply disappeared. Once we
both saw it disappear, we made a beeline to the tree.
It was that we can be stupid brave, and there
was no sign or sound of anything having been there.
We look around and nothing there was no way for
(01:36:38):
it to have gotten away without making a sign or
even making noise, as the brush wouldn't have allowed that
sheathing our weapons. We stood there, dumbstruck, not sure what
had just happened. Thank you, anonymous. Well there you have
(01:37:01):

I'm Steve Stockton and I'll talk to you next time. Yeah,
there you go. By our listener stories Number one. I
got the little gentleman here with me again. He's had
a bottle and he's kind of sleepy, so I'm not
sure how sociable he'll be, but he wanted to come
(01:38:03):
back on and tell everybody howdie before he goes to bed?
Oh spout his dummy out. Let's put that right over here.
There we go. There's a holding Chandler Stockton, my son
born a month ago tomorrow at four thirty one pm.

John possibly nice like butter to the ears, sleep and
(01:48:45):

John songs better than Elton does in my opinion, that
things live, but come up come tomorrow night to Holden

Pseudo scientist the man called, X, how you doing? Julie
Goddard great well paranom the ones say, don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:49:20):
If I said, do you know, pseudo scientist said, tell
me you take drugs about No? Yeah, I'm clear minded.
Written over four hundred tracks, a lot of them. I
was very very straight.
Speaker 6 (01:49:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, nothing more a bit of the old
puff now and then granted, you know, the old greenery.
Speaker 2 (01:49:51):
Apart from that then nothing else ever.
Speaker 5 (01:49:53):
You know. So yeah, that's me. I don't drink do anything, don't.
I have a little jos soda, drink coffee.
Speaker 6 (01:50:02):
I have a tipple of Jamieson's now and then. But
like I said, he's never ever anything over my I
don't like being out of control at all.
Speaker 5 (01:50:10):
I don't like that, and I quite can see it.
Says here can switch snap your fingers from Elton John
the Guns N' Roses. He did a Sweet Child of
Mine chapella the other night and Nicole said it gave
her chills.
Speaker 2 (01:50:23):
That was a very very good reditional nice comment. That's nice.
Speaker 5 (01:50:29):
But join us tomorrow night on his channel for more
awesome original music and amazing covers from the seventies, eighties,
nineties and beyond.
Speaker 2 (01:50:42):
But yeah, Gerald there right, Gerald saying he minded to
b flat cool chords. Right, but listen, I don't know.
I play by ear self taught, so yeah, I know
where the sea key is, of course I do.
Speaker 5 (01:50:57):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
I know where middle C is, but I only know
them as the A, B, C, D F GA, you know,
I don't I don't know the diminished chords.
Speaker 2 (01:51:05):
And all these other things. I don't know terminology.
Speaker 5 (01:51:08):
Yeah, I don't read music, don't know theory. He's just
a natural, that's all you can say about it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
But you know, I've still written over four hundred tracks,
so that's got to.
Speaker 5 (01:51:16):
Be a He's written music for this channel, he's written
music for other channels. He's done something for my Tales
and Toll channel, including some stuff we're working on. Arts
coming up, so well.
Speaker 6 (01:51:26):
Most of the music I have written, apart from the
night Writer tracks are on my YouTube channel, so they
are they are searchable, they are findable. The Artifact version
that's on on YouTube, though, isn't a perfected version because
one of my old one of the people that used
to be with the channel, made a video for it
(01:51:48):
and she took it off live and then she spliced
it together near the end and it kind of glitchy
at the.
Speaker 1 (01:51:53):
End, but.
Speaker 5 (01:51:55):
Amazing. Stuff's got a nice science fiction cyberpunk feel to it,
I think, and it's got to the starting to Artifact.
You know that sounds like something strange and mysterious.
Speaker 2 (01:52:08):
Yeah, well I wrote that.
Speaker 6 (01:52:09):
I wrote that not knowing that my friend had just
passed who used to be on the show herself, Mysterious Dragonheart,
And it was a weird coincidence that I don't know
where the emotion came to that song. And well, that
piece of music, it's not a song. A song is
something that's sung, so at least I know that. But
(01:52:31):
and I've got quite a few of those as well, so.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
As you know.
Speaker 5 (01:52:35):
Steve, Yeah, oh it's a good time. So then Tuesday
nights he writes a track start to finish, usually in
a couple of hours there.
Speaker 6 (01:52:43):
Yeah, the night writer, and then show the process though
it's not about obviously. I always make the statement that
it's not about it being a number one recording.
Speaker 5 (01:52:53):
I went and sat with him over there for what
about thirteen weeks in a row, and he wrote a
couple of albums for me.
Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Yeah, and one one each time you were there as well?
They want a Break? Was there from We didn't finish
that one. There's always a finished piece.
Speaker 5 (01:53:07):
Yeah. You can hear those on his channel as well.
Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
Yeah, they're all there. Yeah, there's thirteen past Midnight and
there's tales.
Speaker 6 (01:53:14):
I'm told there's two albums there that are there, Steve
Stockton Orientated and I made them through him making a
little tiny comment.
Speaker 5 (01:53:23):
So I'd give him just to hit something he'd taken,
run with it, and it'd be exactly what I heard
in my head. It's amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:53:30):
Wow, I guess to a point, but you know, I mean,
you can't do it exact, can't you?
Speaker 6 (01:53:34):
But at least even if it's got an essence of
what you were thinking about that, Yeah, you've kind of
done your job, an't you. You know, I'm just one
of them lucky ones Maye who can just write it
right on the spot. Someone could put me in the
studio I've never used before in my life, and then instruments,
I would just write music ghostlore.
Speaker 5 (01:53:51):
Here Consita cat Gray, she's one of my friends. I
got her to come over to the show one night.
He picked her out of the crowd, wrote a song
about her on the spot, just little tinkling piano thing,
and then it turned into full production thing plaus a
little bit of that. If you don't buy it, it's
(01:54:12):
made up on the spot.
Speaker 9 (01:54:34):

Speaker 10 (01:54:39):

Speaker 3 (01:56:38):

catre You're mud you mute? It's Steve.
Speaker 5 (01:58:05):
Sorry, how about that? And like Chris Winpool says, there
it gets better every time here. And I've had that
stuck in my head before I woke up with that playing,
especially when Great Yes Cathita just you know, came into
the show and show one time my behested and uh
Lee picked the name. Doesn't Sometimes you'll pick a name
(01:58:26):
out of the chat and write a song on the spot.
Wrote that one, and it just he added to it
and added to it, and eventually that's what it became.
And there's a full production version of that too, that's
even better. I love the Vianna version there too.
Speaker 6 (01:58:38):
But I have one real quite big fan on that

Speaker 6 (01:59:17):
I can't seem to break the one thousand and four
hundred and whatever I've got, you know, and I've been
been doing it three and a half years now, so
it's a bit of a shame, but you know, it's
what it is.
Speaker 5 (01:59:28):
It's hard to separate the signal from the noise on
on YouTube sometimes, but there are people like Lee out there.
They're just genuine diamonds in the road.
Speaker 2 (01:59:36):
That it's because I don't push myself.
Speaker 6 (01:59:40):
He like I said, I'm not interested in the in
the word fame and all that crap, and I'm just
not interested at all. Who wants to be one of
those weirdos, mate, Yeah weird No, thank you.
Speaker 5 (01:59:50):
I'm telling you, this guy does Elton John better than
Elton John does Elton John. It's amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:59:56):

That just shows you.
Speaker 6 (02:00:26):

past that.
Speaker 5 (02:00:33):
I live in studio there and they can't really even
see all of it. But it's it's amazing. You a
collection of sens and guitars, and he's an amazing guitar
player too. Well.
Speaker 6 (02:00:47):
I'm self taught on every level. So you know, when
when when people say that, I'll take that as a
real high compliment. But at the same time, I'm not
someone to big myself up. You know, there's always room
for improvement on every level with everything, you know, So.
Speaker 5 (02:01:02):
On the guitar stuff, he does what food fighters.
Speaker 6 (02:01:08):
I'm trying to say, one of my own tracks. So
there's there's the main my guitar and you know it's
really it's really my own shout.

Speaker 2 (02:01:23):
But anyway, people in by singing to him as well.
Speaker 6 (02:01:26):
So I'll take a name out of the audience like
I did with thea Clack Gray song. And you're new
to my channel and I notice you're new, then I
always sing your name and put it into a welcome song.
Speaker 2 (02:01:37):
So major, but you know it's it's that.
Speaker 5 (02:01:40):

from the Appalachian Trail and surrounding areas. I'll be back
(02:03:23):
with you right after the stick around folks. Hello friends,
Steve Stockton here with you. Welcome to our latest episode.
In this video, we bring you creepy stories and legends
(02:03:45):
from the Appalachian Trail and surrounding areas. Now, the Appalachian Trail,
or the at Well not the longest. Trail is considered
the longest hiking footpath globally. Spending twenty two hundred miles,
it attracts an estimated two to three million hikers annually.
The trail passes through fourteen states from Georgia to Maine,
(02:04:08):
providing a range of unique landscapes, including rugged wilderness and
quaint villages with stunning views. Due to this diversity, is
a perfect destination for hikers of all levels. Despite its
enchanting beauty, the trails more secluded areas have been the
site of some disturbing incidents. Unfortunately, there have been violent
assaults and around a dozen reported murders since the first
(02:04:31):
one recorded in nineteen seventy four. The trail passes through
desolate mountains and thick forests, leading to chilling experiences for
hikers and giving rise to scary stories and urban legends.
In this video, we'll explore some of the legends and
paranormal encounters associated with the Appalachian Trail. Join me, let's
(02:04:52):
walk and see.
Speaker 13 (02:04:57):
Now.
Speaker 5 (02:04:57):
There have been reports from hikers who have walked long
distances on the Appalachian Trail without encountering anyone else, which
can lead to feelings of isolation and unsettling thoughts. In
a few cases, investigations have suggested that there may be
unusual things to discover while on the trail. First up,
dudley Town, the Cursed Village. The quiet town of Cornwall
(02:05:21):
was settled in the mid eighteenth century, much like many
other areas of Connecticut. The first Dudley's from England via Guildford,
arrived in the Litchfield Hills in seventeen forty seven. They
played a pivotal role in forming a prosperous community then
known as Aylesbury, primarily driven by the burgeoning iron industry
in the region. The settlers constructed homes, farmed the land,
(02:05:43):
and forged iron, leading to the town's growth and prosperity.
The town's eventual demise can be attributed to various factors,
such as the depletion of farmland, the decline of the
iron industry in the area, and the national progression of
younger Americans moving westward to settle new lands. However, some
people believe that the Dudley clan was cursed, as many
(02:06:06):
Dudley's met an untimely demise, and this curse extended to
the village they founded. For reasons unknown, the population of
Dudley's decreased over time and eventually dwindled to a point
where the last resident abandoned the remaining town at the
start of the twentieth century. The surrounding forests gradually consumed
the homes of buildings, leaving only a few decaying foundations
(02:06:28):
and empty cellars as remnants of what once was. There's
a widespread belief that those who attempted to reside in
Dudley Town have experienced terrible misfortune. Supposedly, there have been
numerous incidents ranging from self harm to demonic possessions, causing
a great deal of hysteria. Paranormal investigators ad Lorraine Warren
(02:06:49):
even filmed a Halloween special in Dudley Town during the
nineteen seventies official declaring it demonically possessed. This declaration essentially
paved the way for supernations occurrences. The location has been
a site for numerous reports of paranormal activities, including sightings
of apparitions and ghostly figures that ilicit feelings of fear
(02:07:10):
and unease among visitors. Unfortunately, the area has also caught
the interests of individuals obsessed with dark powers and satanic practices,
along with many inexperienced ghost hunters and mischievous adolescents. Consequently,
it has turned into a place associated with evil and doom.
It's important to note that this posed curse of Dudley
(02:07:32):
Town has primarily been proven false, with even a descendant
of the Dudley family, Reverend Gary P. Dudley, debunking the myth. However,
despite the lack of actual curses, supernatural currencies, or dark
tragedies in the town's history, people still enjoy sharing spooky
stories about it. The ruins of Dudley Town are located
on private property owned by the Dark Entry Forest Association.
(02:07:55):
They strictly prohibit all visitors. Local and state police rest
and prosecute any trespassers. Next, we have the Moon Eyed People.
Both Apalachian folk tales and Cherokee legends suggest that there
could be a group of pale skin humanoids known as
the Moon Eyed People hiding in the Appalachian Range. The
(02:08:18):
Moon Eyed People are commonly linked to the small town
of Murphy, North Carolina. They are alleged to have a short,
stout build and white skinned, bearded faces and large blue eyes.
As per legend, their eyes were susceptible to the sun,
making them nocturnal creatures and earning them the moniker moon eine.
According to legend, the indigenous Native American tribes would wait
(02:08:41):
for the full moon to drive out the moon Eyed
people from their underground caves. The bright light would weaken them,
forcing them to flee to other areas of Appalachia permanently.
The Moon Eyed People, unlike other Apalachian monsters, were believed
to be a unique and distinct race of people rather
than supernatural anties. It's believed that the Moon eight people
(02:09:02):
were actually European settlers. However, the legend surrounding them is
so startling that it originates from a time well before
Christopher columbus arrival in America. Presently, exhibits of The Moon
eight People can be found at the Cherokee County Historical
Museum in Murphy, North Carolina. There's a three foot toss
sculpture of two cojoined figures thought to represent Moon Eighted
(02:09:24):
people from the early eighteen forties. Port Mountain, a Georgia
State park near Ela Ja, Georgia, contains the ruins of
an eight hundred and fifty foot long stone wall that
is said to have been constructed by this mysterious tribe
of people and now apparitions of Civil War soldiers. Throughout history,
(02:09:46):
numerous war has been waged on multiple fronts. In eighteen
sixty two, three significant battles of the Civil War took
place across various areas of what is currently referred to
as the Maryland Section, situated along the Appalachian Trail. Many lives,
particularly those of soldiers, were lost in the violent and
ongoing conflict. The number of soldier casualties was so great
(02:10:08):
that some believe their spirits linger on. Hikers on the
Appalachian Trail who pass through these areas have shared eerie stories.
There have been reports of ghost soldiers, strange campfires, and
the distant sounds of cannons by some people. Close to
the past where the fighting was intense is the farm
of a man named Daniel Wise. Is believed that the
remains of fifty eight soldiers were thrown into an old
(02:10:30):
well on his property, which has led to sightings of
ghostly figures wandering around wise land. Next, we have the
Pierced Pond ghost. Some individuals enjoy hiking the Appalachian Trail solo,
but this has led to negative experiences for some, according
to stories. One man, for example, was trekking along Pierced
(02:10:51):
Pond in Maine when he encountered two shocking incidents that
have stayed with him forever. After hiking several miles and
camping at different location, he settled at the Pierced Pond
camp area for the night. While enjoying his campfire, he
noticed a figure walking nearby. Upon closer inspection, the figure
appeared ghostly and resembled a rugged outdoorsman caring what appeared
(02:11:14):
to be fishing equipment. During that first night, the spectral
figure gradually faded into the darkness. The man resumed his
hike the next day, only to come face to face
with a ghostly figure once more. This encounter was more
frightening than the previous as the figure halted and gave
him an unsettling stare that sent shivers down his spine.
(02:11:36):
Without hesitation, the hiker left his campsite, dashed into the forest,
took cover behind a tree, and waited until morning. Once
daylight broke, he quickly returned to his camp, gathered his belongings,
and left the area before nightfall caught up with him again.
And there's the story of the flat Woods Monster. In
(02:11:59):
the summer of nineteen fifty two, Edward and Fred May,
two brothers from Flatwoods, West Virginia, brushed home to tell
their mother, Kathleen May, about a strange event they had
just witnessed. While playing football at Flatwood's school playground, they
saw a bright object swiftly fly across the sky and
land on a nearby farmer's property. Mss May and her sons,
(02:12:22):
along with some other boys from the area, were curious
about what had occurred on the neighbor's land and went
looking for answers. As the sun set, they noticed an
unusual object in the woods. According to Andrew Smith, the
executive director of the Braxton County CVB and curator of
the Flatwood Monster Museum, the thing had an odd shape.
(02:12:44):
It was emitting a red glow accompanied by smoke or steam.
During this adventure, seventeen year old National guardsman Eugene Lemon
witnessed a pulsating light and directed his flashlight toward it.
He spotted a quote ten foot monster with bright eyes,
a blood red face, and green glowing body perched in
(02:13:05):
a tree. The monster then hissed and floated toward the group,
causing Lemon to scream and drop his flashlights. According to
newspaper reports, several of the party fainted and vomited for
several hours after returning to town later, Miss May was
quoted as saying that the monster looked worse than Frankenstein.
(02:13:25):
The group turned and ran down the hill, immediately reporting
what they saw to the local sheriff. Several men armed
with shotguns returned to the scene with Lemon an hour later.
According to local reports, they were met with a horrible
smell and saw what they described as slight heat waves
in the air. Authorities didn't find much, says Smith. What
Westbound was gathered and sent to Washington, d c. And
(02:13:47):
never seen again. Smith says one of the reasons the
Flatwood's monster encounter is so intriguing is that it was
only the second or third of its kind, and likely
one of the first. With so many witnesses, it may
national headlines, says Smith. Today, on the main road into town,
a sign reads welcome to flat Woods, home of the
(02:14:08):
Green Monster. The UFO siding or whatever it was is
in the past, but not forgotten. There's not a consensus
on what happened in flat Woods that evening, says Smith.
You have your UFO true believers and skeptics who think
it was a misidentified bar Now. Smith explains, if I
had to pick one, he says, I'd say the most
commonly hell thought is that the monster is a fun
(02:14:30):
and interesting bit of folklore. Having to decide whether it's
real or fake takes all the fun out of it.
Next up, the Giggling Children. There's a spooky tale about
some children who appeared unnatural and unsettling to a group
of hikers on the at The hikers had hiked for
miles and set up camp in a particular spot. They
(02:14:53):
were met with an unusual and eerie sight. When they
woke up the morning after a peaceful sleep, they discovered
that their camp site was inve by dense mists that
failed to dissipate despite the sun shining. As they gathered
their belongings, they heard children's laughter emanating from their surroundings.
The group was almost done packing up when a group
of children led by one parent, walked out of the
(02:15:15):
mist and passed them. These creepy children asked the hikers
where they are going, and someone responded they were hiking
along the Appalachian Trail. The kids started laughing and one replied,
this isn't the Appalachian Trail. As they kept walking off,
the hikers spent the whole day hearing the children giggling
around him from the woods. Next the Bell Witch Haunting
(02:15:40):
not too far west of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The town of Adams, Tennessee. John and Lucy Bell were
farmers who settled in Adams around eighteen o three. They
lived peacefully on their land until eighteen seventeen, when the
family began experiencing odd and unexplainable occurrences in their home.
They began hearing noises such as scratching, knocks on the
(02:16:01):
walls and change being dragged across the floor. Says pat
fits you a friend of mine who's an author and
historian who's written two books about the events on the
Bell Farm. Over time, the noises became more intense and
more frequent. Then the Bell's two daughters began complaining of
something trying to pull up their covers and pinch them
while they slept. The Bells chose to keep quiet about
(02:16:22):
the unusual occurrences in their home for more than a
year because they were concerned about the opinion of their
church community. However, the harassment persisted, and eventually John Bell
confided in one of his neighbors about the strange incidents.
This neighbor visited their home and experienced similar disturbances. As
words spread, the news of the events became known throughout
(02:16:44):
the Eastern and Southeastern regions. According to Fitsiu, vister started
flocking to the Bell Farm to witness the area occurrence.
Some were inquisitive, while the others aim to disprove the
Bell's claims. Fitsy says, over time, it seems this thing,
whatever it was, fed off attention and people's fears. It
eventually developed a whispering voice, and within a year it
(02:17:06):
could speak audibly. People have written down and passed through
generations accounts of what this thing allegedly said, says fits you,
it'd like to argue religion and make fun of people,
except for missus Bell. It stated its purpose was to
kill John Bell. The poultrygeist was named Kate after it
declared itself to be the witch of a woman named
(02:17:27):
Kate Batts from the area. Following John Bell's death in
December of eighteen twenty, Kate claimed responsibility for his demise,
citing his evil nature as the reason for her actions.
The Bell Farm gradually returned to its usual routine until
Betsy Bell, the family's youngest daughter, announced her engagement to
a nearby resident named Joshua Gardner. Kate revowed her scorn
(02:17:50):
and disapproval about Betsy Bell's upcoming marriage, says fits you.
She talked Betsy into breaking off the engagement with Joshua.
A short time later, the pot guy said you would leave,
but promised to return in seven years. Seven years later,
Kate did return, visiting John Bell Jr. Who was not
living at the Bell Farm. Then they allegedly talked for
(02:18:11):
three nights about the past, present, and future, explains Fitzhugh.
After that, the Bell Witch bid farewell and promised to
return in one hundred and seven years that would have
been nineteen thirty five. Some said she returned and some
said she didn't, says Fitzhugh. Now, the real story behind
the tale of the Bell Witch has never been uncovered.
(02:18:32):
Some thought it was an act of the supernatural, says
fitz Hugh. Skeptics accused the Belle family of doing it
by knowing how to act and using ventriloquism. Some thought
they did it for money, but the Bell family never
charged a sent to anyone staying over in their home.
Though Fitzhugh has considered many theories, he says he doesn't
know what the Bell Witch was. When you look at
(02:18:53):
how long the story has endured and how many people
have put forth theories. Doctors, lawyers, and preachers back in
the day I eye witness manuscripts saying they witness these things,
says fits you. It makes it more than just your
standard folk tale. And now the Brown Mountain Lights, the
Brown Mountain Lights and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North
Carolina have long been a fascinating Appalachian mountain enigma. Visitors
(02:19:17):
and locals alike have witnessed unusual glowing orbs and shades
of blue, white, orange, and red hovering about fifteen feet
above the ground in Brown Mountain near Morganton, North Carolina.
According to legend, a fierce fight between Cherokee and Kataba
braves on Brown Mountain resulted in numerous casualties. After the battle,
Kataba women would search for their lost family members at night,
(02:19:40):
using torches to light their way. Some people believe that
the lights observed today are the spirits of these Kataba
women who are still looking for their lost loved ones.
In seventeen seventy one, German engineer John William Gerhard de
bram saw and recorded the Brown Mountain lights in his journal. However,
some doubt was cast on to Brahm's account, as he
(02:20:01):
claimed to have seen the lights every night, which some
speculated could have been distant train lights. There have been
many documented sightings of the Brown Mountain lights throughout the
twentieth century, particularly after the Lynnville area gained access to electricity.
Although these sightings are often unpredictable, the lights are commonly
observed at night, particularly following periods of rainfall. The Brown
(02:20:23):
Mountain Overlook, Weisman's View Overlook, and Lost Cove Clips Overlook
are highly sought after locations to catch a glimpse of
these lights. I've seen them myself and is definitely worth
the trip. These spots can be accessed by a North
Carolina one O five south or North Carolina one eighty
one near Asheville and Boone regardless of the time of day.
(02:20:44):
These overlooks provide breathtaking scenic views if nothing else. Now
we have the story of the Mothman. In nineteen sixty six,
Point Pleasant was a small town with just a few
thousand residents located at the junction of the Ohio and
Canawall rivers. In November that year, the town experienced a
(02:21:04):
disturbance caused by an unidentified being. Brave diggers at a
cemetery in Colndenen, West Virginia, about eighty miles a Point Pleasant,
theyave to have seen a man with wings flying over
their hands and taking off from a nearby tree. Three
days later, two young couples were driven near an abandoned
World War two T and T plant approximately five miles
north of Point Pleasant, claimed they saw a large flying
(02:21:27):
man with ten foot wings and red glowing eyes. The
individuals tried to flee from the unidentified creature, driving almost
one hundred miles per hour However, the beasts chased them
and pursued them until they reached the city limits of
Point Pleasant bring for their safety. They promptly reported the
incident to the local authorities. The media dubbed the creature Mothmen,
(02:21:49):
and the story gained national attention, making Mothman a sensation.
During the following week, there were at least eight additional
reported sightings of a birdlike creature with massive wings in
around Point Pleasant. Captain Paul Yoder and Benjamin Enox, who
were volunteer firefighters, provided one of these accounts. As per
the Gettysburg Times, Yoda and Enix reported seeing a bird
(02:22:12):
of considerable size with red eyes that were equally large.
Some individuals dispute the reported sightings, suggesting that the people
of Point Pleasant may have observed a sand hill cray
that had deviated from its usual migration path. There were
hundreds of eye witnesses, says Jeff Wamsley, owner of Point
Pleasants Mothman Museum. Born and raised in the town, Wamsley
(02:22:35):
was only five years old when the mothman appeared and
began terrorizing his neighbors. Throughout the following year, ucular incidents
persisted Point Pleasant authorities received an influx of reports detailing
UFO sightings and encounters with mysterious men in Black. Furthermore,
the sightings of Mothman persisted. A tragic incident occurred in
(02:22:56):
nineteen sixty seven, just ten days before Christmas during Russia traffic,
the Silver Bridge, which connected Point Pleasant to Gallipplos, Ohio,
collapsed and caused the death of forty six individuals. According
to some reports, there were sightings of the Mothman at
or even on the bridge shortly before it's collapsed, and
(02:23:17):
it was believed that the creature's presence was a sign
of the impending disaster. Wamsley says the fact that the
UFO sightings, Men in Black presence, and the Silver Bridge
disaster all happened during the Mothman's sightings intrigued many people.
It's a fascinating turn of events or a small town
like Point Pleasant. According to Whamsley, the residents of Point
(02:23:39):
Pleasant had an encounter with something indeed out of the ordinary.
I just don't believe that many people could have made
up the same story, says Wamsley. But what it was
they saw, I don't believe will ever be truly explained
or solved, and now the legend of Spearfinger. Several creepy
(02:23:59):
legs legends associated with the Appalachian Trail originate from the
Cherokee people. One of these legends is about Spearfinger, which
has been used to frighten children for generations. Spearfinger is
described as a witch like hag who can disguise herself
as a friendly old grandmother or even a family member.
Spearfinger lurks around the Smoky Mountain's highest peaks as she
(02:24:21):
focuses on children who have wandered away from their homes
and parents. These children are usually afraid, which Spearfinger takes
advantage of as she tells them she'll help, but her
AUNTI is to sing them to sleep slowly. She then
uses her finger made of obsidian, to gouge out their
liver and eat it before them. And now we have
(02:24:43):
a story of a young girl who spotted a ghost
while camping on the Appalachian Trail. While hiking with her
parents on the Appalachian Trail, a young girl experienced her
first encounter with a paranormal. The trio made camp for
the night, and as her parents slip, she became right
by something that kept her from being able to rest.
The following day, after the airy night passed, the girl
(02:25:06):
took a brief walk with her mother before they continued
their hike. While walking around and enjoying each other's company,
her mother suddenly stopped and stared blankly into the distance.
The young girl called her mother's gaze and saw a
hazy apparition against a tree a few yards from where
they were standing. The man appeared calm but sad, and
(02:25:26):
then he faded the way, leaving the tense mother and
child bewildered and fearful, and now the legend of the
scorch Man. While hiking along the Appalachian Trail, it's not
uncommon to experience interfears and imagine being followed or pursued
by unseen humans, animals, or forces. In twenty eleven, a
(02:25:48):
confident man decided to take a week off from work
and hike the trail alone. At first, the hiker's journey
went well until a terrifying incident occurred that left the
lasting impression. On his first day, as he made his
way down the trail, night fell, prompting him to set
up camp. While alone in the dark, the man heard
strange noises approaching his tent. Although slightly alarmed, he wasn't
(02:26:13):
bothered enough to investigate the source of the sounds. The
following day, he continued hiking and set up his camp
before nightfall. While sitting around his fire later that evening,
he was left shocked when he saw a man with
badly burned hands, a burned body, and a smoking face
standing near his firewood. This experience shocked and left him
(02:26:34):
numb as the burned figure gazed at him before walking away.
The terrified man decided to pack up his belongings and
leave the area immediately, only to come across from a
recently burned down house with a sheriff outside. The sheriff
told the man that the entire family burned alive in
the house four days prior was the apparition that the
(02:26:55):
man witnessed among those that had perished in the fire. Next,
we have another pantom encounter on the trail. During a
hike on the Appalachian Trail in May of nineteen seventy two,
a lone hiker encountered what appeared to be a ghost
from another time. While on the hike, the hiker noticed
a dense ground fox surrounding him, which startled him. As
(02:27:18):
he looked up, he saw a prominent figure walking towards him,
wearing a heavy coat and wide brimmed hat. The phantom
slowly staggered about, its eyes facing the ground, as if
searching for something that had lost. This figure then started
walking towards the frightened hiker, still looking at the ground,
which made the hiker move aside to avoid being bumped into.
(02:27:39):
As the phantom crossed his path, he suddenly looked at
the hiker with cloudy blue eyes which seemed to stare
directly through him. What surprised the hiker the most was
that the man's clothing seemed to come from a different period,
and he never responded when he tried to say hello.
The hiker continued on and looked back from one last
glimpse of the eerie figure, only to discover the man
(02:28:00):
had vanished. And what about the story of mysterious abduction
by unknown people? Now? There have been accounts of individuals
being abducted while hiking and later found after becoming extremely disoriented.
In nineteen eighty eight, a hiker had a terrifying experience
that to him, was even more frightening than encountering an apparition.
(02:28:24):
As the man was hiking along the trail, he noticed
a bright light emanating from the forest behind him. He
was not bothered by anyone, nor did he investigate the
source of the light, but he decided to set up
camp for the night somewhere nearby. Later, he was awakened
by a strange man standing over his hammock. The unfamiliar
lurking man also got startled, fled, and yelled to some
(02:28:47):
other unseen people that the hiker was awake. Being terrified
by this incident, the hiker quickly packed up his gear
and hurriedly continued his hike to put more distance between
himself and the unseen people. He continued hiking NonStop for
some time. Nevertheless, while resting in his hammock, some nights later,
he was cut down, wrapped up, and dragged away to
(02:29:08):
some undisclosed location. Unknown people beat him mercilessly as they
shouted to one another while others prepared something. Luckily, the
hiker got a chance to cut through his hammock and escape.
He reported the incident to the authorities, but the officials
never found anyone responsible for attacking him that night, And
(02:29:29):
what about the couple that were watched by unknown forces.
A young couple had a frightening experience while hiking on
the Appalachian Trail in Virginia's southern region. During the night,
or they were sleeping in their tent, they were suddenly
awakened by odd noises and rustling sounds coming from outside
their campsite. The young man ventured out to investigate and
(02:29:51):
successfully frightened off some mysterious figures lurking about. It seemed
the figures had wanted him to pursue them, but he
chose not to. The couple then camped the next night
with their backs against the cliff, guns at the ready.
While the couple slept, the figures returned started awake. The
couple fired shots into the woods, and the figures quickly retreated.
(02:30:14):
The pair hurriedly left the area, and by midday they
noticed the silhouette of someone standing in the distance watching them. Fortunately,
they were able to leave the trail and reach civilization
without any harm. And now the legend of the Wampas Cat.
The Wampa's cat, also known as the Cherokee death cat,
(02:30:34):
as a large feline resembling a mountain lion or cougar.
It is said to have ten yellow fur, six legs,
and striking yellow eyes. According to legend, the creature's origin
is rooted in a curse placed upon a Cherokee woman
who witnessed a sacred pre hunt ritual. She took refuge
beneath the pelt of a large cat and was subsequently
transformed into the half woman, half beast featured in this
(02:30:57):
popular Appalachian myth. The Wampa's Cat is said to roam
the mountains alone and often expresses her frustration through angry behavior.
She's known for standing on her hind legs and using
her supernatural powers to drive her victims insane. Even though
the Wampas Cat folk tale features the Cherokee people, the
name likely comes from the word catawampus, a mountain folklore
(02:31:20):
that describes a boogeyman or something that had gone badly.
In nineteen sixty four, there were reports of a strange
creature wondering around US seventy. The newspaper dubbed it the
Wampas Cat, and the name ended up sticking. And then
there's the legend of Bigfoot. Now. Legends of Bigfoot are
(02:31:41):
ancient and have been passed down through generations. Stories of
wild men in the woods are known by different names
in different cultures. The Solish Sasquins call it Sasquatch of
the Algonquin of the North Central region referred to it
as the Whittiko or Windigo. Other nations tell tales of
a creature similar to a man, but with special powers
(02:32:03):
and characteristics. According to the Ojibwe of the Northern Plains,
the beast would appear during times of danger, and other
cultures believed that it was a warning messenger, encouraging people
to alter their behavior. Starting in the late eighteen hundreds
and continuing into the nineteen hundreds, North American settlers reported
sightings of a mysterious creature. Huge footprints, sporadic encounters, and
(02:32:27):
grainy photos and videos later only added to the mystery.
The cryptid is set to stalk the woods, occasionally frightening campers, loggers,
and hikers, with numerous accounts documented in the North Georgia Mountains,
Witnesses have described the creature as a giant, upright ape
or even a hairy human, standing over eight feet tall
and possessing a powerful, robust build In the Birkshares of
(02:32:51):
western Massachusetts, numerous sightings of Bigfoot have been reported, including
along the Appalachian Trail in Beartown State Forest and the
October Mountain State Forest. Presently, the debate and research continues.
Entire organizations exist to study and document Bigfoot and prove
its existence, and groups regularly search the Northwest Woods looking
(02:33:15):
for that ultimate proof. Today, individuals can commemorate this mythical
monster the Appalachian region by attending the Bigfoot Festival in Marion,
North Carolina. And to round things out, how about some
Appalachian superstitions. Many of these I heard from my grandma,
(02:33:35):
but after speaking with her Tennessee based family, author Amy
Lewis comprised a list of these superstitions. The following are
just ten of her findings. Number one, never close a
knie if you didn't open, or you'll have bad luck
for seven years. Number two keep a penny in your washer.
(02:33:56):
Number three always go out the same door you came in.
Number four. Eat black eyed peas and collared greens with
hogjaw on New Year's Day. Number five don't wash clothes
on New Year's Day or you'll wash a family member out.
Number six don't let a pregnant woman see a dead
person where the baby will have a birthmark number seven.
(02:34:19):
Don't let anyone sweep under your feet. Number eight. Hang
a mirror by the door to protect against evil. Number nine,
blanch your crops under the full moon. And number ten.
Open the window when someone dies, and cover all the
mirrors so their soul can leave. In conclusion, the Appalachian
(02:34:41):
Trail traverses through several remote and barren regions, such as
mountains and dense forests, which can lead to eery experiences
for hikers. Superstitions and legends are an integral part of
Appalachian culture. These myths and folk tales have been handed
down through generations and showcased in hit TV shows like
The X Files Monsters. The region's extensive history, which includes
(02:35:04):
the amalgamation of European, African, and Native American cultures, has
given rise to numerous urban legends, folk tales, and ghost
stories throughout the area. Well, friends, there you have it.
What do you think of these creepy stories from the
Appalachian Trail and from the Southern Appalachians in general. I
(02:35:24):
look forward to your comments, but please keep it friendly
and respectful until we meet again. Be good to yourselves
and each other. Stay safe out there. As for me,
I'll see you a little further on down the trail.

But New England suits me. I've always been a fan,
even as a kid. I was probably the only child
in my elementary school that subscribed a Yankee magazine. I

take us just after midnight on the East coast. Stick around, everybody,
see you a little bit.
Speaker 13 (02:43:08):
This research started as a result of getting a lot
of emails and inquiries in a short period of time
from people describing pretty much the same kind of experience,
a bedroom invasion by a dark entity that looked like
a tall man wearing a cape or a coat and
often with a hat. These were terrifying encounters for people
(02:43:28):
and they were wondering, what is this anity, what does
it want?
Speaker 3 (02:43:32):
How do I make it go away?
Speaker 5 (02:43:36):
Hello? Friends, welcome back to the channel. Today we're going
to delve into the dark, sometimes frightening world of shadow people. Now,
a number of religions, legends, and belief systems describe shadowy
spiritual beings or supernatural entities as shades of the underworld
and other various shadow creatures, which have long been staples
(02:43:57):
of folklore and ghost stories. There are many theories about
where shadow people come from and whether or not they're
even real. Skeptics note that seeing shadow people could simply
be chalked up to sleep paralysis, heightened emotional states, or
sleep deprivation, as people who have experienced these physiological and
psychological conditions have noted a correlation, although if I might add,
(02:44:21):
that still doesn't fully explain why they're all seeing the
same creepy kind of thing, right. But then there are
the paranormal theories. These seem to resonate more of the
people who have actually lived through the terrifying encounters and
feel strongly that shadow people are more than just imaginary.
Half of the paranormal researchers claim that shadow people are
(02:44:41):
conscious intelligence, interdimensional beings that can shapeshift into various forms
and figurations and have the ability to move back and
forth between dimensions. While the other half claimed shadow people
are of extraterrestrial origin. Now, there is no substantial proof
of what these entities are and where they come from.
(02:45:03):
In the professional field of clinical psychology, our own individual
shadow is said to be that darker part of ourselves.
Our shadow is our darkest thoughts, aggressions, and impulses that
we keep hidden by our conscious mind. So are the
shadow people a manifestation of our own subconscious thinking? And
are we responsible for the existence of these beings? No
(02:45:26):
matter what you believe these entities are, most who have
encountered them say that they are pure evil and very real.
What's alarming is the number of growing reports of encounters
with these entities. The following stories have been sent into
us by our subscribers to share in this video. It's
important to note that these are allegedly real encounters, and
(02:45:49):
we're obviously deemed as real by the people who experience them,
so we ask that you please be respectful in the
comments section below. House of Share. I became aware of
the shadows shortly after moving into my house in New Jersey.
My daughter's playroom was in the basement and they were
constantly complaining that they were always seeing something move out
(02:46:12):
of the corners of their eyes. My youngest also said
they hovered near the ceiling. In later years, I had
my floral workshop in the basement and saw them constantly.
It got to the point where I could talk to
them with my mind, not that they ever answered back.
They were black. We saw them all over the basement,
but mostly along one wall, and occasionally saw them along
(02:46:36):
the same wall on the first floor and in the
kitchen near the back door. We did not see them
anywhere else on the house or elsewhere on the property.
But even when we did not get a glimpse of them,
we were aware when they were present. Some of them
seemed to have an evil presence. A few years after
we moved in, I told them they were not welcome
(02:46:57):
in the house, and the evil presence seemed to go away.
Still we had an uneasy feeling about them, not fear.
We just accepted they were there, as several steps taken
over the years to make them go away didn't work anyway.
Only once, after the evil ones were told they were
not welcome, was I where they came back, And I'm
(02:47:18):
not sure if they were evil or just upset. I
will explain later. Only once did I see one clearly,
But it happened in a split second and I did
not see it from top to bottom. I was walking
through the breakfast room into the kitchen. The kitchen light
was on in the corner. It was by the back
(02:47:38):
door in front of the stove. I was startled. I
thought someone had come into the house. It all happened
very fast, but the light from behind it did not
pass through as it would a shadow. It was short
and stocky and appeared as a silhouette of a person.
It had a head. There were no discernible features, including
no eyes, holds, arms, and a torso it disappeared too
(02:48:03):
fast to take note if it had legs or feet.
I since it was as surprise as I was and
did not intend to be seen. Then our house caught fire.
It was a major fire that started from a short
TV along the wall of shadows in the den. We
were out of the house six months while it was repaired.
About a week after the fire, I stopped by right
(02:48:25):
before dark to pick up a few things. As I
came onto the back porch and looked through the six
foot hole where the picture window once was, I looked
across the breakfast room at the basement doorway, I sensed
three shadows near the doorway. It was almost dark outside,
so I did not actually see them. Also got a
(02:48:46):
bad froom at them and told them by thought that
the evil ones were still not welcome in the house,
whether I was there or not. Then I turned and
left without entering the house. I was quite rattled. Whether
I had this feeling because I was also upset about
the fire, I cannot say. The next day I went back,
and it seemed the house was full of shadows, although
(02:49:09):
I only caught a glimpse of them as usual fleeing
in the basement, and I'm not sure I really saw them,
as there were no lights on down there and the
only light was from the window will windows. It was
the only time I ever since that they tried to communicate.
It seemed they were upset that we were not there
because the house was all black, there was no light
for them in the kitchen, and there were strangers in
(02:49:31):
the house the workers every day. A few weeks later,
burglars tried to steal the new appliances for the house.
Everything was left in the kitchen by the back door.
My daughters and I joked that they met up with
the shadows and were scared off. Who knows signed Mike
(02:49:53):
A dashing shadow. When I was younger, I lived in
a ranch style home with my mom and grand My
mom and I had chosen to have our rooms in
the basement, hers in the back corner and mine intersectioned
off area of the main living room recreational area down there.
Her bedroom was connected both to her bathroom and the
(02:50:13):
main living area, the bathroom door being in her room
and the door leading to the living area being caddy
corner with a door that led to the bathroom from
the main living area. One night in particular, I remember
playing with my legos. I was probably nine or ten
when I happened to look up at my mom's bedroom door.
As I looked through that door, it became more and
(02:50:34):
more apparent that there was something there. It had no
facial features and was nothing more than a silhouette of
a small person with really swooshy hair. After about a
minute of looking at this shadow, it dashed into the
bathroom via the door directly connecting the bathroom in the bedroom.
In disbelief, I continued playing with my legos when I
(02:50:56):
felt something staring at me. As I looked up. I
couldn't believe my eyes. The same shadow was now standing
directly in the bathroom doorway. Now I know it had
no face, much less eyes, but it was staring, watching,
perhaps even waiting. It almost immediately sprint it into my
mom's room, at which point I sprinted up the stairs,
(02:51:19):
tears of fear running down my face. After that instant,
I could never be alone in the basement at night,
and my bedroom was moved to one of the spare
rooms upstairs. I wish I could say that this was
the last of my experiences, but the last it is not.
This same shadow person followed me to several different houses,
(02:51:39):
including the one I'm in now signs anonymous. It called
to me, and I answered, I'm not usually one to
talk about my situation as it happened about fourteen years ago,
and anyone that I have gone out of my way
to share this with immediately put a lot of discredit
(02:52:01):
upon the topic. My spouse and close friends have always
been the most intrigued. Only had one occurrence that I
recall the most. Any others did not have as much
substance behind it as this one did. When I was fourteen,
I was sharing the basement recreation area with my stepbrother.
At the time, my parents had spent time building me
(02:52:21):
a room in the basement at my request. But lo
and behold, I slept most of the time out on
the playroom or whatever you wanted to call it. I
didn't start sleeping in my room till I was probably sixteen. However,
this instance further confirmed why I didn't. It was between
two and four am. I don't recall the exact time,
but I had originally fallen asleep on the floor next
(02:52:43):
to the food time my stepbrother was sleeping on He
faced the wall and was heavily snoring to boot. I'd
woken up and couldn't fall directly back to sleep, so
I tossed in turn while the ambiance of the TV
kept spreading around the basement out of nowhere. I became
complete stiff and unable to move my entire body but
my neck and head. At this point, Pete point to
(02:53:07):
the wall and the TV behind me. I started to
look around because I become immediately filled with anxiety and fear.
I was thinking of this being sleep paralysis at the time,
until the next step took place. I laid there in silence.
Heavy snoring from my left. It felt as if someone
or something was sitting on my body, restraining me by
(02:53:28):
the shoulders, which, due to claustrophobia issues, freaked me out.
I heard a very faint voice at first in the distance, Josh,
are you there. I know you're there, eyes peeled wide open,
trying to diagnose me being crazy at this point, it
(02:53:48):
then spoke again, Josh can you hear me? I know
you can hear me, Come to your bedroom. I continue
to try and ignore it. I thought I was about
to puke and I was becoming really scared. In a
much louder, gruffer voice, it spoke to me again, Josh,
(02:54:09):
I know you can hear me, come to your bedroom.
As if the biggest weight was off my body. I
was immediately able to move, and I sat up in
a split second and rose to my feet. This voice
continued to call my name and demand my presence in
my room like any unoriginal horror movie. I was pleading
(02:54:30):
with my brain to not do it, but stupid me
decided to make way to the bedroom. The door always
remained shut, and as I put my hand on the doorknob,
I hear one more time, Josh, are you coming? Opened
the door. As I opened the door, I had a
small basement window at the time, big enough to sneak
(02:54:50):
out of the house at a little to the doorway.
As I slowly creaked open the door in a cold sweat,
there was what appeared to be a dimly yellow eye
sheaps in the window in the shape of some sort
of dark figure staring deep into my soul. White eyed
and terrified, I looked up and was locked on for
(02:55:11):
about thirty seconds. They got brighter and became dim and
that repeated. I slammed the door immediately and bolted to
the other end of the basement for the light, and
proceeded to rock back and forth because there was no explanation.
My brother woke up in a panic as I was petrified.
We went back in the room together and turned the
(02:55:31):
light on and nothing was there. Nothing was outside as
we went and checked further. He stayed up with me
for a bit till I fell back asleep and nothing
like that occurred again. I cannot advise whom, where or what,
but it has left the biggest impact on me to
this day. I know the difference between dreaming and being
(02:55:54):
in an altered state of mind, but this was the
most real I have felt behind a paranormal episode. That
voice makes my body tingle and hair on my arms raised.
Every time I think about it. I feel good knowing
that I'm not completely alone in this type of thing,
and all I can do is hold on to the
memory as nothing has been explained or uncovered otherwise. Signed Josh.
(02:56:23):
I never had a name for them until now, so
I never knew it was really a thing until recently
that there was a name for them. I've never and
hope that I never have an experience with the hat man,
but shadow people I've had one encounter with. It was
probably about fourteen or fifteen, babysitting for one of my
(02:56:43):
parents' friends. Me and the kids were curled up on
the couch watching TV. It's hard to explain because of
how their living room was set up. The couch we
were on was directly in front of the hallway and
the back bedroom was their room, and in front of
us the big glass TV stand, and it reflected the
couch hall in doorway of their room. Their bedroom light
was on so I could see the beginning of their room,
(02:57:05):
which I assumed that's why the furniture was positioned the
way it was so the parents could easily see in
their room. I remember it feeling really weird that night,
as I often did in their house, scared, and I
remember the youngest asking me, what's that in my room?
I looked at the part of the glass that reflected
into their room, and it was a shadowed figure. What
(02:57:28):
was striking was that it wasn't like a smudge or misshapen.
It was almost like a perfect outline of someone. I
looked back at him and then back at the glass
and it was gone now, like almost fear stricken. Looked
behind me and there was nothing. I remember this because
the child actually saw it too, and then told his
(02:57:48):
mother about it once she got home. Laded that night.
Not only that, but I had never experienced anything like
it in my life, but just chalked it up to
light bouncing off the glass, wrong or rationalization until I
heard others talking about it. Signed Mark the shadow Person.
(02:58:12):
When I was a teenager, I was home alone one
weekend and I was sleeping in my parents' room since
there was a TV in there. Sometime around two am,
I felt like I was being stared at from the
direction of the hallway. I looked up and I saw
a shadow person looking at me. It was weird because
it was a pure man shaped black mass, and I
(02:58:34):
could see him in the dark hallway I'm guessing like
from the TV hill. I sat up and stared back,
but I was terrified. We looked at each other for
probably five seconds, and then it turned and walked down
the hall. A few seconds later, I heard a loud crash.
I was so scared I turned the TV to the
(02:58:54):
Disney channel and stayed awake for as long as possible.
When I woke up the next morning, I walked down
the hall to the bathroom and that's when I noticed
a mirror that was hanging. It had fallen off the
wall and was shattered. My family still doesn't believe me,
but I know what happened. Signed Nancy mirror Man. When
(02:59:23):
I was younger, there was a man at the top
of my stairs. I used to go to the bathroom
every night between about twelve and three, and he would
always be there. He was a shadow on a mirror.
I was only about four or five, but other people
saw him too, even tried to push one of them
down the stairs. Since moving into the house across the road,
(02:59:45):
though I haven't seen or heard from him. I can't
go in my old house upstairs because there's a very
unwelcome and hostile feeling to it. I still can't work
out who he is. I've also seen him in my
friend's houses and he just stands there looking at me,
although there's no face, just a shadow, Signed Lauren, unable
(03:00:12):
to leave. I was only about ten or eleven when
I went to this house. It was daytime and the
building was well lit. I looked into a few rooms
and saw nothing out of the ordinary until I turned
into a hallway. It was at the other end of
the hall looking at me. Although it had no eyes,
(03:00:32):
the feeling was undeniable. The shadow person and I watched
each other for some time. I didn't think it was real,
but then it started walking towards me slowly. I turned
and ran. I looked over my shoulder and it had
traveled about seven meters in the split second I looked away,
but when I had my eyes on it, it moved slowly.
(03:00:56):
I got out of the house and looked at it again.
It had stopped at the door, almost like it was
unable to leave the house. It turned and walked back
into the house, Signed Courtney, Scared skeptic. When my wife
was pregnant with our daughter, we saw one in the
(03:01:17):
house we were renting. I'd just gotten off the graveyard ship.
We were chatting before going to bed, and my wife
said she saw something in the back room. Our cat
was on watch, perch on my wife's belly, occasionally growling.
I was a big skeptic. Ah, that's a bunch of bs, etc.
That morning, I started towards the back room with that
(03:01:39):
attitude and stopped in my tracks when both of us
saw the hunched black shape move and turned to look
at us with those horrible red eyes. Honestly, wish I
could say I didn't see what I did, but as
sure as hell did still freaks me out. Signed Dylan
(03:02:01):
daughter's experience. Starting at four or five years old, when
we moved into our house, my daughter has been afraid
of our basement. She said that she could hear children laughing,
weird sounds, and that the dark Man lived down there.
She also said that she had a ghost friend she
called Bradley, staying upstairs, and that Bradley keeps the dark
(03:02:23):
Man away from the top floor. When she was around fifteen,
she was home with a friend sitting on the couch
watching a movie. Both she and her friend saw a
dark shadow in the shape of an adult upper torso
hovering by the front door. Within seconds of seeing the shape,
it blew toward them and then straight down the stairs.
(03:02:45):
A daughter said it was scary, but she's been more
accustomed to bizarre happenings. The friend never came over again.
Signed anonymous, I don't know what it is. This started
happening to me about a year and a half ago.
(03:03:07):
One of my friends and I were walking to a
friend's house and we were taking a shortcut. Then out
of nowhere there was a shadow figure about as tall
as me, which is six foot three inches. It had
a tail like a wolf and was all black. When
I first started seeing it, it had eyes about the
size of two pennies, but as time went on they
(03:03:27):
got bigger and bigger. The last time I saw it,
its eyes were about the same size as a lime.
Not only that they changed color. What scares me the
most is the fact that the last time I saw
it it was about two months ago. It used to
show up a few times a week, and its eyes
were crimson, which is the r color of hatred. I've
(03:03:50):
been attacked by it before, painful ear ringing, nausea and dizziness.
It might have gone away, but I think it might
be planning something. Nothing has happened yet, just waiting to
show up again. Then I'm going to banish it as
best as I can. Sign Cameron. Well, friends, there you
(03:04:13):
have it. What do you think these beings are? Are
the extraterrestrials? Are the demons? Are they from a parallel universe?
Or are we actually speaking these entities into existence? Whatever
the case may be, The paranormal experts we've talked to
say it's best that you avoid making contact and do
(03:04:34):
your best to ignore these entities. As always, we welcome
your comments. If you have a story you'd like to
share on the channel regarding shadow people or any paranormal
or unusual experience, please email it to us at disappearance
off at gmail dot com. Until we meet again, take
(03:04:55):
care of yourselves and each other. I'm Steve Stockton and
I'll talk to you next time. Well what do you
think about that? Folks? There's some tales of shadow people there,
scary stuff. Have you ever seen a shot of person?
I have in Oregon? It was strange, but it wasn't
(03:05:16):
necessarily frightening. It was just odd and nat again, I'm
sorry it looked like not from here the in stream
yard in the studio here the chat's hard to see.
It's way over there in the corner, but anyway, I
apologize that. I thank you for being here. Peter Pantalon

So what better thing to show here at midnight on
(03:08:03):
these coasts after midnight? Hey, I can't see your name,
then let me switch over here. I can see who
I'm talking to, Lauren lord Burnhof. Thanks for being a

each one of them. So here we go. I'll see
(03:08:47):
you right after this.
Speaker 14 (03:08:55):
He slat out told us, Mom, she's dead, she needs
our house, and that's and I got the goosebumps, and
I was like, oh my gosh. He was just in
our car and he was pointing out to a certain
spot in the meadow.
Speaker 15 (03:09:08):
While Victoria Gorba and her family stopped for lunch, her
son Kayden began talking to someone.
Speaker 14 (03:09:13):
And my husband and I kind of looked at each
other like what, And he goes, yeah, there's a lady
over in the meadow in a black shirt, and.
Speaker 2 (03:09:22):
I got goosebumps.
Speaker 14 (03:09:23):
He says, she needs our help, but she's dead and
she's laying face down with her legs up and she
can't talk to me, but she's over there.
Speaker 5 (03:09:35):
We need to go help her.
Speaker 15 (03:09:36):
Jake and Victoria checked out the meadow but saw nothing.
Speaker 14 (03:09:39):
He kept saying, trust me, trust me, mom, And I
was like, I trust you, Bud, you know. I believe
you one hundred percent spooked.
Speaker 15 (03:09:47):
The couple decided to end the trip early and head home, and.
Speaker 14 (03:09:50):
We put it on Facebook seeing if anybody knew anything
about the area, and come to find out that there
was a lady missing with the description that he discussed
to us within a five mile radius of where we were.
Speaker 15 (03:10:03):
Sandra Hughes had gone missing in July of twenty twenty.
Cayden had described her in detail and recognized her in
three of four photos.
Speaker 14 (03:10:12):
He was very adamant that we needed to help her,
and he described down to blue hair. He said, she
has a black shirt, blue jeans, and blue hair.
Speaker 3 (03:10:23):
Mom.
Speaker 2 (03:10:25):
That's the exact description of.
Speaker 14 (03:10:27):
Her when she went missing.
Speaker 5 (03:10:31):
Hello friends. We recently learned of what may be one
of the strangest updates to a missing person case that
we've ever brought forth. Now, sometimes in these missing person
cases that we cover, there will be a little bit
of a paranormal or supernatural element. It's usually something small
and not very significant to the overall case, but sometimes
(03:10:54):
it seems that the unknown can play a larger part
in these cases. Stories of UFO, the Fay, Bigfoot, rather cryptids, portals,
translucent entities, et cetera. But is it possible that the
ghost of a missing woman may be trying to help
solve her disappearance, or at least help locate her remains.
(03:11:16):
We ask that you keep an open mind and consider
it the following case. Back in episode number seven of
our ten Unsolved National Park Disappearances series, we brought you
the story of Sandra Hughes. To recap. Fifty four year
old Sandra Johnson Hughes of California was last heard from
on June twenty six, twenty twenty. Sandra had embarked on
(03:11:39):
a solo camping trip in the Sierra south of Yosemite
to escape from the current pandemic. Sandra had recently moved
from Maui, Hawaii, to California in June of twenty twenty.
She had trained to be a park ranger in college
and was experiencing the outdoors. On July fifth of that year,
the Madera County Sheriff's Office for the public's help in
(03:12:01):
locating Sandra after they found her campsite near the Johnson's
Meadow section of the forest in disarray. On that same day,
the authorities located Hughes, Silver Sob and Schequido Creek to
the north of the campsite. They said it appeared to
have crashed into a tree at a speed of less
than twenty miles per hour before rolling into the ravine.
(03:12:21):
Akers reported Saint Sandra on July fourth, twenty twenty, and
said she was barefoot and had a bruise on her face.
They offered to help her, but she declined. Medical assistance
officers and volunteer search and rescue teams for more than
half a dozen other sheriff's departments, together with dog teams,
the California Highway Patrol and the Governor's Office of Emergency Services,
(03:12:43):
combed the forest on foot, while helicopters from California Air
National Guard did an aerial search. The search focused around
the area where her car was found, but there was
no sign of Sandra. Then, on August ninth, twenty twenty two,
hunters saw a woman leaning against a tree along Road
five S zero one near Beiesore Road. She did not
(03:13:04):
wave them down, attempt contact, or appear to be in
any distress. Upon returning, they recognized her from a missing
persons fire and contacted park rangers. The hunter said that
she appears to be visibly thinner than her last known photos.
At the time of her disappearance, Sandra was a fifty
four year old white female with blue shoulder lenked hair.
(03:13:26):
Her natural color is brown. She has brown eyes, is
approximately five foot three inches tall, and weighs about one
hundred and fifty pounds. A search for Sandra was ongoing
but limited. Now flashed forward to almost exactly one year later.
This strange update to the case comes from the Madeir
County Sheriff's Office in Madeir, California. It seems that a
(03:13:49):
family from nearby Course Gold, California, experienced a bizarre broad
daylight ghost sighting in the Madeir County Mountains on Wednesday,
July twenty first, twenty twenty one. The event was so
strange and disturbing that the Madeair County Sheriff's Office felt
the need to further investigate. It seems that a man
(03:14:09):
named Jake Gorba, his wife Victoria, and their three children
decided to take their four wheeler up to the shut
Eye Peak on that faithful Wednesday. While on this family outing,
they stopped to have something to eat beside the trail,
and that's when things started to get strange. The couple's
three year old son Caden suddenly began animatedly talking to
(03:14:31):
someone nearby. He was just in our four wheeler and
he was pointing out to a certain spot in the meadow,
said his mom Victoria. The normally reserved and somewhat quiet
Caden excitedly told his parents that they're in the meadow.
By where the family was having lunch, was a woman
lying face down with her legs straight up in the air. Furthermore,
(03:14:52):
Caden stated that the woman was unable to speak or
move and needed help. He began pleading with his parents
to help this poor woman. He flat out told us, mom,
she's already dead, but she needs our help. And that's
when I got the goose bumps. I was like, oh
my gosh, Victoria said. He goes, yeah, there's a lady
(03:15:13):
over in the meadow in a black shirt, blue jeans,
and blue hair, and I got goose bumps, said Victoria.
He says, she needs our help, but she's dead and
she's lying face down with her legs up. She can't
talk to me, but she's over there. We need to
go help her. So in order to calm young Caden down,
(03:15:33):
Jake and Victoria walked over and checked out the metal
but saw absolutely nothing. Cayden continued to insist. He kept saying,
trust me, trust me, Mom, and I was like, I
trust you, I trust you, I believe you one hundred percent,
said Victoria. Whatever young Caden was experiencing so unnerved and
spoke the rest of the family that the other members
(03:15:56):
of the family all unanimously agreed it's time to put
an early end to their day of adventure and make
the thirty five mile drive back home to Course Gold.
After arriving home the event still fresh in her mind,
Victoria decided to post about the weird encounter on her
Facebook profile. We put it on Facebook to see if
anybody knew anything about this area, and come to find out,
(03:16:19):
there was a lady missing with a description that he
described to us within a five mile radius of where
we were, said Victoria. Now viewers of this channel No
from our previous episode number seven, Sandra Hughes had gone
missing in that area in June of twenty twenty. The
encounter became even more chilling when, according to Victoria, three
(03:16:39):
year old Caden's highly detailed description of the woman he
had seen in the meadow was identical to the description
of Sandra Hughes as given by the local authorities. He
was very adamant that we needed to help her, and
he described her down to blue hair. He said, she
has a black shirt, blue jeans, and blue hair.
Speaker 3 (03:16:57):
Mom.
Speaker 5 (03:16:58):
That's the exact description of her, and she went missing,
said Victoria. Then Victoria went and searched online for Sandra
Hughes and found some photographs that had been released as
a part of the search effort a year prior. Because,
I said, she got goosebumps when Cayden readily recognized three
of the photos of Sandra, identifying her as the woman
he had seen in the field. As fate would have it,
(03:17:20):
Madera County Sheriff Corporal Chris Williams just happened to see
the Facebook post and found it intriguing, to say the least,
so much so that he contacted Cayden's family to further
investigate the chilling account. Victoria said the corporal in charge
of her case actually reached out to us on Facebook
and was like, Hey, we want more information and we
(03:17:41):
want to bring you guys back up there and see
if you could point us in the right direction. Corporal
Williams has been investigating the disappears of Sandra Hughes since
the beginning of the investigation. On the following Thursday, two
Madera County Sheriff's deputies ventured back up to the meadow
to investigate, with Jake and Caden along to point them
in the right direction. Unfortunately, the deputies found nothing new
(03:18:05):
by way of evidence, although the case remains open. If
she was possibly a ghost looking for some help, I
hope that he could have at least helped and maybe
helped the family find her, because it's been a long
time apparently since she's been gone. Victoria said. The four
wheeler that Cayden and his family used while traveling in
the mountains has now been nicknamed the Ghost Runner and incidentally,
(03:18:28):
is also for sale. It's not believed that the spooky
encounter is the reason they put the vehicle up for sale,
as the family says they will continue to go adventuring
in the Madeira Mountains, but do admit there are a
few spots now which they aren't anxious to visit again
anytime soon, if at all. Local news reporters in the
area reached out to the Madera County Sheriff's Office, who
(03:18:49):
did confirm that they received the report of a possible
sighting of some sort and they did go out to
the location of search for any additional leeds information. For now,
the case remains open and hopes that this latest update
regarding the spooking encounter may produce some new leads. Now.
As strange as this new development is, it's not the
first time that possibly a ghost helped solve the missing
(03:19:12):
person's case. Back on February twenty first, nineteen ninety seven,
the TV show of Unsolved Missteries aired a segment regarding
a missing person's case from almost three years prior. This
report told the story of twenty three year old Christine
Scubas and her three year old son Nick. They were
(03:19:32):
driving along Highway fifty in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range
in California when they vanished without a trace on June sixth,
nineteen ninety four. Christine was a single mother and it
recently completed parallegal training. She had plans of going to
work for a prestigious law firm, and she helped to
make enough money so that she and her child's father
could be married. Christine left her stepparents home near Sacramento
(03:19:55):
on June fifth, nineteen ninety four, on her way to
Carson City, Nevada. After failing to make contact with her family.
After three days, her stepfather, Dave Stossenbach, reported her and
her son missing on June eighth. The police took the
missing person's report, but there were no initial leads in
the case. Five days after Christine and Nick disappeared, however,
(03:20:19):
a woman named Deborah Hoyt and her husband were driving
along the Highway fifty around three am. The pair were
on along overnight drive and had been joking and singing
in order to keep each other away. Suddenly, Devera saw
what appeared to be a completely naked woman lying on
the side of the road. The naked woman's face was
turned toward the road and she was laying on her
(03:20:40):
side with her knees slightly bent. She had one arm
placed beneath her head and the other arm held over
her head. The Holtz were shocked beyond belief. They thought
it must have been some sort of sick practical joke,
or perhaps he would employ the carjack them had they stopped.
Deborah floored the accelerator instead and sped down Highway fifty,
(03:21:00):
stopping until she arrived at the nearest phone booth, where
she proceeded to call the police. In just minutes, two
shriff's cards with the scene were deborn seeing the naked
woman's body. However, unable to pinpoint the exact location, the
deputies reported that they saw and found nothing. The next morning,
though speculations began that the sighting had something to do
(03:21:22):
with the disappearance of Christine and Nick, who were the
most recently missing people from that area. Due to the
insistence from the family, deputy Rich Strasser decided to go
back and have a closer look. Strasser figured that it
might be easier to spot anything out of the ordinary
in the daylight. Deborah had indicated that a particularly dangerous
stretch of Highway fifty, known as Bully and Bend, was
(03:21:44):
where the incident took place. As Strasser patrolled the area,
he spotted a new looking childs tennis shoe on the
side of the road. Immediately next to that spot and
the shoulder of the road was a steep embankment. Strasser
pulled over his cruiser to search theory more thoroughly, and
sure enough, at the bottom of the embankment, he spotted
(03:22:05):
the twisted remains of Christine's car. He checked Christine and
observed that she was dead and unfortunately had been that
way for quite some time. The deputy then went around
to the other side to check Nick, who was curled
up in a fetal position in the passenger seat. Strasser
assumed the worst and was sure that Nick was also dead. However,
(03:22:26):
when he touched the little boy's neck to find a pulse,
it appeared that Nick took a breath. Strasser immediately radioed
for an ambulance. Little Nick had been a loan in
the car for five days, yet he was somehow still
clinging to life. Officials believed that sometime around two am
on June sixth, Christine must have fallen asleep at the wheel.
(03:22:49):
The car veered off the road and plunged to the
bottom of the ditch, striking a tree. Due to the
embankment being so steep, other drivers drove right past the
accident seen for days, unaware that it was just over
the side of the road. It was later determined that
Christine had been killed instantly on impact with a tree.
Through your old Nick was all alone, with no way
(03:23:10):
out and no one to talk to. Christine's mother says
that she believes that little Nick spent the time talking
to his mother, unaware that she was dead. Against all odds,
he survived five days of intense heat and four nights
of cold trapped within the twisted remains of the car.
Doctors who examined Nick stated that he was in such
bad shape that he would have most likely die within
(03:23:33):
a couple of hours had he not been found when
he was. The strange encounter that saved Nick's life seems
to defy any rational explanation. If Dever had not seen
the naked woman lying on the side of the road,
Nick would have not survived. Now, it's absolutely impossible for
Christine to have been the naked woman. She was still
(03:23:54):
fully clothed and wearing her seat bolt when found, and
the medical examiner stated that she was most likely killed
on impact. Debrah Hoyt is one hundred percent certain that
she saw a naked woman on the side of the road.
Both she and Christine's family believe it was Christine's spirit
who saved Nick that day. The spirit had apparently appeared
in the nude in order to draw attention. Nick years later,
(03:24:18):
as an adult, was interviewed on a television show paranormal witness.
He remembers seeing a bright light surrounding the car following
the accident. To this day, he believes that his mother
was watching over him following the accident and helped him
to be rescued. The show also revealed that Christine's aunt
had several dreams or premonitions about the accident before Christine
(03:24:41):
and Nick were even reported missing. She dreamed of seeing
them lying in their car in a ditch. She also
saw the number sixteen the dream, which turned out to
be the number for the mile marker nearest the accident's site. Well,
there you have it. What do you think about the
apparition that looked Little Kaiden observed, which she identified as
(03:25:02):
Sandra Hughes, even down to the color of her hair,
which was dyed blue when she went missing. Is it
possible that Sandra's spirit is attempting to communicate with a
living in a desire that remains be found and her
friend and loved ones have closure. It certainly appears that way.
And what about the two other times she was spotted
by high christ Was that actually her or was that
(03:25:25):
an apparition? Thank you for listening and we look forward
to your comments on this strange case. As always, we
ask that you please remain respectful the victims mentioned, their
family and friends, and the opinions of other commenters. Until
we meet again, take care of yourselves and each other.
Until we meet again, take care of yourselves and each other.
(03:25:49):
I'm Steve Stockton, and I'll see you a little farther
on down the road. I'll talk to you next time. Hey, hey, everybody,
what do you think about that? That is two very
very strange cases. Indeed, been running for about three and
(03:26:11):
a half hours here. I think I'm gonna go ahead
and end it for tonight, but I'll do another one
again soon. I don't know if it will be tomorrow night,
but maybe this weekend, but soon. Anyway, the spooky season here.
But my wife and a little man are asleep, so
I'm gonna catch some winks while I can, because he'll
be back up in probably a couple more hours, ready
(03:26:33):
for another bottle. So old buddy Steve is gonna gonna
turn in for a little while. But thanks everybody for
being here again. Our prayers go out to the people
that were impacted by the the hurricane here and the
flooding and everything on the East coast. Take care, be
good to yourselves and each other. I'll see you a
(03:26:54):
little further on down the trail. Tell your animals I
said hi, and thanks to Leegi who was here again.
Hold and I will be over on his channel tomorrow night,
starting at six pm Eastern. Take the baby and go
over there and drop a link therefore, and there you go.
So everybody have a good night, pleasant dreams, and I'll
(03:27:18):
see you tomorrow. Good night, everybody.
Speaker 7 (03:27:35):
