Speaker 6 (01:06):
Jeffrey John Zoltowski Twenty three year old Jeffrey John Zultowski
was last seen on March thirty first, nineteen ninety three,
as he was hiking in the Wailua Valley in Molokai, Hawaii.
Jeffrey was a student at the Wayne State University in Detroit,
and when he wasn't studying, he spent his time volunteering
at the Veteran's Hospital in various soup kitchens throughout the

(01:27):
Detroit area. According to those closest to Jeffrey, he was
loved by everyone and was a popular football player in
high school. On the thirty first of March nineteen ninety three,
while hiking, Jeffrey signaled a Department of Land and Natural
Resources helicopter to come and bike him up from his location.
He told the crew on board that his feet were
severely blistered and bleeding, and that he felt he was

(01:49):
physically unable to make the fourteen mile trek back into
the city. The pilot dismissed Jeffrey, telling him that he
would not take him back as it wasn't a life
threatening emergency. He did, however, take Jeffrey's backpack and told
him that he would leave it in the service hard
form For forty one days. Jeffrey's sixty pound backpack laid
unclaimed in the yard before he was finally reported missing.

(02:11):
There is no information as to whether search and rescue
teams were sent to look for Jeffrey, and his disappearance
was pushed to the side. In two thousand and one,
a woman reported seeing a man matching Jeffrey's description begging
for money outside of a homeless shelter in Honolulu. This
sighting has never been verified, and people at the shelter
said they did not recognize Jeffrey when they were showing
a picture of him. As of this recording in twenty

(02:33):
twenty one, Jeffrey is still missing and it seems there's
little being done to find him by law enforcement Number two.
Kenny Veach. Forty seven year old Kenny Veach mysteriously disappeared
in the Mojave Desert in Nevada on November fourteenth, twenty fourteen.
Kenny was hiking near Area fifty one. I was looking
for cave systems and mine shafts. Kenny has uploaded several

(02:57):
videos to his YouTube channel under the user name snake
Bitt McGhee, where he describes entering a cave with an
M shaped opening. He wrote in one comment that ain't nothing.
I'm a long distance sicher. One time, during one of
my hikes out by Nellis Air Force Base, I found
a hidden cave. The entrance to the cave was shaped
like a perfect capital M. I always enter every cave

(03:20):
I find, But as I began to enter this particular cave,
my whole body began to vibrate. Suddenly, I became very
scared and I tailed out of there. That was one
of the strangest things that ever happened to me. Now,
these videos gained popularity following his mysterious disappearance, and in
these videos he does indeed talk about how his whole
body vibrated and he felt scared upon entering this mysterious

(03:42):
m cave armed with a gun and a camera. This time,
Kenny headed back out to the m cave on November tenth,
twenty fourteen, hoping to get a better look inside. However,
Kenny never returned home. Although he was a very experienced
hiker outdoorsman, Kenny rarely took a map or GPS device
with him on his heights. According to his family, on

(04:03):
the day of his disappearance, he told him that he
would only be gone for a short overnight trip. Then
when he didn't return home, they immediately called the police.
Police volunteers, and search and rescue teams all scattered the
area where Kenny was last known to have been. On
November twenty second, twenty fourteen, volunteers found Kenny's phone. According
to those volunteers, the trail went cold soon after they

(04:25):
located his phone, and there have been no signs of
Kenny ever since. At the time of this episode, the
mysterious disappearance of Kenny Beach is very much alive in
true crime and paranormal circles, but it appears that we
are still no closer to uncovering the truth. Number one
Henry mccab Thirty two year old Henry mccab of Mounds View,

(04:46):
Minnesota was the Last Thing Live on September sixth, twenty fifteen,
when he and two friends William Pappus Kennedy and Calvin Johnson,
spent the night party. At around two am on September seventh,
Henry allegedly has to be dropped off at a Super
America gas station in Fridley, Minnesota. His two companions noted
this is odd as Henry's house was several miles in

(05:08):
the opposite direction. Nonetheless, they honored his wishes and dropped
him off at the gas station. The two friends also
took Henry's wallet and keys from him earlier in the
night to prevent him from buying any more drinks as
he was apparently very intoxicated. At two twenty eight am,
Henry's wife received a disturbing phone call from her husband.
Henry was screaming down the phone saying that someone had

(05:31):
shot him. Before the call disconnected. Henry tried to call
his wife again. However, he was met with her voicemail
as she was trying to call Henry's brother Tim. The
creepy voicemail captured high pitched moting and growling sounds along
with Henry screaming. Some of the audio is hard to
pick out due to the low call quality, however, but
at the end of the voicemail, a male voice can

(05:53):
be heard saying stop it before the voicemail disconnects.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It's a voicemail well unlike anything you've ever heard before.
There are two minutes worth of noises, the bizarre ones
with very little actual talking. Authorities confirmed the disturbing middle
of the night call came from Henry McCabe's cell phone.

(06:19):
It was Labor Days, September seventh, at two twenty eight
in the morning. McCabe's worried wife heard the message.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
Isn't my cell phone connected?

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Minnesota Community Policing Services is a nonprofit agency and acts
as a go between with police in the Liberian community.
The leader is trying to help the family make some
sense of this recording. The growls turned to high pitch.

Speaker 7 (06:43):
Molds so like these moaning and pain, like moaning in pain.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
The tortured drunks suddenly stop. There is silence. Then someone,
either Henry or another person says stop it.

Speaker 7 (06:59):
I try to picture where he was, what it might
have been like what circumstances would have made him sound
like that.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
The voicemail is in star contrast to other articulate recordings
of McCabe speaking at an event. He's a state auditor.

Speaker 7 (07:18):
What is a justification?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
What to do?

Speaker 2 (07:21):
The message is one piece of evidence. Mounds View police
are reviewing, the police chief tells me. Even the FBI
is analyzing the recording and voices for clues. The chief says,
the investigation took deputies here on Tuesday to Rice Creek Park,
which borders New Brighton, mounts View, and Fridley, all areas
where McCabe was reported seeing or a cell phone ping

(07:44):
placed him. Ramsey County Water Patrol searched but came up empty.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
When Henry's wife reported these calls, police began to search
for Henry. They searched Spring Lake Park, New Brighton has
caused that Henry made ping from these cell phone towers.
Despite an extensive search by land and air, there was
no trace of Henry to be found and the investigation
went cold. Then on November second, twenty fifteen, Henry's body

(08:10):
was discovered in Rush Lake, New Brighton, Minnesota. There were
no gunshot wounds to Henry's body. And his cause of
death was ruled as drowning. Obviously, Henry's family do not
agree with this verdict and believe that the voicemail is
proof that Henry met with some sort of foul play
that night. Some people even believe that what Henry encountered
was not even human. If you have any information, you're

(08:33):
asked to contact the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office on sixty
five one seven sixty seven zero six four zero. Dwayne Miles.
On October nineteenth, twenty twenty one, seventy eight year old
Dwayne Miles told friends he was planning on going on
a day hike and would be hiking off trail south

(08:55):
of the Graves Creek Campground and exit near Graves Creek
Corral in Olympic National Park. He was reported as overdue
when he failed to show back up the next day.
He was last seen on October nineteenth at the Graves
Creek trailhead wearing black rain pants and a camouflage jacket.
He was known to carry a dark colored backpack. Dwayne

(09:17):
is five feet nine inches tall, weighs one hundred and
eighty five pounds, and has blue eyes. He is described
as a fitz and very skilled hiker who often travels
alone off trail looking for shed el handlers. His vehicle
was found parked at the Graves Creek campground and the
search is focused in that area. His friends were conducting
their own searches, while dog teams and foot searchers conducted

(09:40):
extensive searches as well. Nobody came across a single clue
as to Dwayne's whereabouts. The search on the twentieth included
National Park Service staff as well as search and rescue
teams from Olympic Mountain Rescue, Everett Mountain Rescue, and Olympic
Correction Center trackers. Another search began late on Saturday, the

(10:01):
twenty second, with a quick look around the area near
his car. Sunday's windy, rainy weather curtail search efforts, but
on Monday the search intensified, but again to no avail.
Anyone who's visited the Graves Creek area since October nineteenth,
or who has any information regarding Dwayne Miles whereabouts, it's
as to please call eight day eighth sixty five three

zero zero zero nine Kim Crumbough and Mark O'Neill Mark
O'Neil sixty seven of Chimacum, Washington and Kim Crumboll seventy four,
of Hogden, Utah, both retired from National Park Service, were
reported missing by a family member on September nineteenth, twenty
twenty one, after they fail to return from their four

(10:46):
ninth backcountry trip. On Sunday, September nineteen, park crews located
a vacant campsite with gear on the south side of
Shoshonee Lake, as well as a canoe, paddle, personal flotation
devices and other person along on the east shore.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Of the lake.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
The National Park Service said. Despite Mark's body being found
the next day and after an autopsy concluded he had
died of hypothermia, Kim's whereabouts are still unknown. Yellowstone National
Park officials have confirmed that the search for Kim is
now being called a recovery mission, as the authorities say
they are looking for remains at this point. Kim Crumbow,

(11:23):
a former Navy seal, spent two decades working as a
river ranger, park ranger, and wilderness coordinator in Grand Canyon
National Park. He was a member of the Potawatomi Tribe
and a board member of the Rewilding Institute, a conservation program.
He was also a frequent contributor to the Salt Lake Tribune,
which reported he was known for writing letters to the

(11:44):
editor about protecting wolves, wild horses, and the environment. The
Park Service said the average year round temperature at the
lake is about forty eight degrees fahrenheit, and survival time
is estimated to be only twenty to thirty minutes in
water at that temperature. Efforts for Kim Crumbo included boat
crews and foot searches. Sonar equipment, dog teams, and helicopter

(12:05):
crews also joined the effort, but no trace of Kim
has been found. If you have information that could help
investigators piece together a timeline of events, or if you
were in the Shoshone Lake area between September twelfth through
the nineteenth twenty twenty one, please contact the National Park
Service at three oh seven three four four two four

(12:25):
two eight. Joel Thomasin thirty one year old Joel Thomasin
went on a solo hike in Yosemite National Park, telling
friends of his plans to hike from hetch Hetchee to
then fish in Lake Eleanor and then returned to Hetchhatchee.
He began on the sixth of September twenty twenty one.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
And was due back on the ninth.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Joel is described as a white male, standing five feet
ten inches tall, with hazel eyes and brown hair, worn
buzz short Artificials noted that he may have decided to
stay out longer and extend his trip to Cherry Lake
to the north or e as far as the Grand
Canyon of the two Alumni River. Park officials are asking
all wilderness travels north of Tioga Road and between Cherry

(13:08):
Lake and two Alumnique Meadows to report possible sightings of
him or any undettented or possibly abandoned equipment. They added
that he was likely carrying the kayak packed and a
large red vouch attached to the exterior of his backpack.
His family provided this list of additional equipment he may
have had with him, which includes a floppy booney hat,

(13:29):
a dark blue or gray hammock, large yellowish tan ketty pack,
US army steel cup dated nineteen eighteen, camelback type, red
and black daypack, a black and yellow collapsible sink, a
bright red inflatable kayak, a small collapsible stove, and a
black bag, a kayak battle a petcil, zipka headlamp, a

are found, please leave them in place, note the location
using coordinates if possible, take photos and email the information

these times, they're encouraged to call Yosemite Search and Rescue

Richard Judd. As of July twenty second, twenty twenty one,
seventy two year old Richard Judd was a third person
that month to have been reported missing in Yosemite National Park.

(14:59):
Richard Anna still unidentified hiking partner or camp near Lower
Merced Pass Lake and they went on a day hike
towards Lower Ottawa Lake and Red Peak Pass on Sunday.
According to the National Park Service and the Madera County
Sheriff's Office, they got separated from each other somewhere between
Lower Merced Pass Lake and Lower Ottawa Lake. Richard Judd's

(15:20):
hometown has also not been made public by authorities at
this time. Lower Merced Pass Lake is about fifteen miles
from Happy Isle, the trailhead where people can start the
miss Trail and hike to the Half Dome Cables. The
hike from Lower Merced Pass Lake to Red Peak Pass
is about three and a half miles. A vehicle belonging
to Judd or his hiking partner was parked at the

(15:41):
Quartz Mountain trailhead in the Sierra National Forest and outside
Yosemite National Park, about twenty three miles south of Lower
Merced Pass Lake. Authorities described Richard as being five feet
eleven inches tall, one hundred and fifty pounds, with brown eyes, short,
very hair, and a beard. He was last seen wearing
a blue shirt and gray or blue pants. His last

(16:03):
known location was in the Yosemite back country, about fifteen
miles from the popular trailhead junction at Happy Isle on
the Merced River. Anyone with any information has urged to
caller text the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch tip
line at eight eight eight sixty five three zero zero
zero nine. Yosemite National Park averaged between sixteen and seventeen

(16:25):
fatalities per year from twenty fourteen to twenty nineteen. According
to Park Service statistics. Over that same span of time,
Yilsemite Search and rescue personnel conducted an average of two
hundred and forty missions annually. There were one hundred and
thirty three deaths of the park from two thousand and
seven to twenty eighteen, the second highest total among national

(16:45):
parks after Lake Meade National Recreation Area on the Colorado
River in Arizona and Nevada, which had two hundred and
one deaths. According to a twenty twenty analysis by Panish,
Shay and boyle Llp, a plain as personal injury law
firm with offices in the California, Yilseimite was the fourteenth
most deadly national park during the same time spent when

(17:06):
factoring in the number of visitors, with twenty eight point
zero one deaths per ten million visits.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Stephen van Pelt.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Just after eleven thirty am on July twenty third, the
sheriff's office received information about a climber identified as Stephen
van Pelt, thirty three, of Salem, who had fallen during
his descent on Mount Jefferson. Deputies learned the climber had
fallen among extreme mountain terrain. A witness described losing sight
of him after he fell several hundred feet. The Sheriff's

(17:39):
office said resources including six mountain rescue team searched for
Stephen over the last several days among the extreme mountains
terrain with glacier drips, falling rocks, and debris. The decision
to suspend the search was announced a few days later.
The sheriff's office said the Van Felt family is aware
of the decision and have been conducting their own searches.

(18:00):
The Lynn County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Marion County
Sheriff's Office, Benton County Sheriff's Office, or Vallas Mountain Rescue,
Eugenie Mountain Rescue, de Shoots Mountain Rescue, Portland Mountain Rescue,
Wood River Mountain Rescue, Oregon, United Emergency Management, Oregon Emergency Management,

(18:20):
United States Army National Guard, Air Force Reserve three hundred
and fourth Life Flights Eidenhigh Fire Department, Detroit Fire Department,
Amateur Radio Emergency Services, and the United States Forestry Service.
There is a bit of a strange twist here. The
witness claimed to have seen Stephen fall but lost sight

(18:41):
of him after several hundred feet, as previously stated. But
if that's the case, whether they lost sight of him
or not, they know where they had seen him and
led the police and search teams to that exact spot
almost immediately. So why haven't they been able to find
his remains or was there no sign of anyone at
all ever falling in that area, no disturbance of the

(19:01):
land below whatsoever. This witness's statement is the reason this
started and ended as a recovery mission and not a
search for a live and missing person. There have been
no updates or answers in this case since July when
it all happened, and the National Park Service and other
authorities have been very tight lipped. Mount Jefferson, which stands
at ten thousand, four hundred and ninety five feet, is

(19:23):
the second tallest mountain in Oregon after Mount Hood and
the only major volcanic center in the US portion of
the Cascade Range that has interrupted in the past ten
thousand years. Ellis Boudeine. On July fifteenth, twenty twenty one,
a four year old boy named Ellis Boudine is believed
to have gone missing sometime in the evening hours while

(19:45):
with his family in the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park
and Reserve in Louisiana, United States. The child is believed
to have fallen into the water of a murky and
swampy canal. His mother immediately dove into try and save
her son, to no avail, as she seems to have
lost sight of him almost immediately in the dirty water.

(20:05):
Authorities almost immediately began building a dam to start draining
the canal in search of Bell's remains, and the Jefferson
Parish Sheriff's office say that the dam would take one
day to be completed. However, with the dam completed and
after six days of relentless searching with no results, the
underwater search was called off. The decision came after a

(20:26):
temporary earth and dam built to help drain a five
hundred foot section of the swamp had been a complete failure.
When the dam broke. We knew this dam was an
Army Corps of Engineers project Sheriff Joseph Lupento with the
JPSO said, I think we accomplished a lot more than
I would have ever expected. Officials had hoped that draining
the area would give him a better chance to find

(20:47):
the four year old's body in the dark and debris
choked water. We always knew it was a long shot,
Sheriff Joseph Lupento said of the canal draining plan. It
wasn't a Corps of engineer's design product. We utilized the
equipment we had in front of us and the volunteers
we had in place to put a good plan together.
I think we accomplished a lot. The search would continue

(21:07):
in a way, as it was stated by authorities involved
that it would be a passive one from that point on.
This meant the authorities would still keep boats in the
water looking for disturbances in the duck weed and on
the surface, but will not be employing active techniques such
as sonar equipment or divers unless we see something that
indicates they are needed. During active operations, we typically have

(21:28):
divers in the water constantly searching, along with the sonar
equipment when it's available, said the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office.
During the active search, the authorities and search teams were
able to check alligator dens using the sonar equipment. Our
job is to put the pieces together and figure out
the whole picture. This is one that I would love
to put all the pieces together to find the child.

(21:49):
Sheriff Lupentos said, We've exhausted a lot of options. Our
investigation goes where it leads us. If the naysayers say
the body is not in here proved me wrong, we
will continue the investigation as much as we can, the
sheriff said, even though there is no real closure, a
memorial sits at the site, remembering Elis a boy who

(22:11):
the community truly proved through all their hard work how
much they care about him. Six days after the boy
fell into the water and the extensive and gruelling searches began,
the crews cleared out and everything was expected to go
back to normal, or as normal as possible. A family
friend said that Ellis loved to play with toilet paper
and cleanex She also said he was such a happy,

(22:31):
gold lucky child who loved Mickey Mouse and the movie Frozen.
John Davis on October twenty fourth, twenty twenty one, a
forty eight year old man named John Davis from Humboldt County, California,
was hunting and hiking with his son when he disappeared
during some unusually heavy rains which it hit the area
that night. John was last seen in the early morning

(22:55):
hours near Highway one sixty two at the eight mile
bridge near Covelo on October twenty seventh. The next day,
authorities found his dog, but there was no trace of
John himself anywhere. Search teams started out on that exact
eight mile bridge in the hopes of finding him alive
and well. Family and friends requested the help of the
community at large, and particularly asking anyone who lives in

(23:18):
the area where he was last seen to look at
any surveillance footage they may have, and also to try
and remember if they've seen John or anything suspicious or
out of place. A Facebook page was set up by
the family which contains suggestion on what to wear and
bring on the search. It urges everyone who would like
to search his ask to wear reflectors, download ONYX map,

(23:38):
and bring walkie talkies. They also ask folks to come
prepared if you're willing to camp out on the Mountain
during the search. Page also states brain is supposed to
hit Monday, so far as only Monday, so bring.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
Rain gear if you plan on coming out that day.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
John Davis from Humboldt County is described as having brown
hair and blue eyes, stands five feet eleven inches tall
and weighs two hundred and twenty pounds. He was last
seen wearing a camouflage rain jacket and neon green pants
with reflective stripes. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Department requests that
anyone with any information police called him at seven zero seven,

(24:16):
four six three or zero eight six. Lester Young'squitmeyer Lester
youngs Whitmyer, sixty five, was last seen a few miles
east of oak Ridge near Macready Hot Springs in June.
He was staying in the area and had spoken to
a family member on about June eighteenth of twenty twenty one.

(24:38):
He was reported missing on July second. Whitmeyer's belongings and
vehicles were located in the Willamete National Forest east.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Of oak Ridge.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
However, his whereabouts remain unknown. Lester is described as white
and has gray hair and brown eyes. Stands five feet
ten inches tall.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
And weighs two hundred and ten pounds.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
He's commonly seen with a beard, glasses, and has ties
to the Redmond area. The Lane County Sheriff Search and
Rescue Team continues to search the area. This is all
the information publicly given at this time about Leicester's disappearance.
Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked the
police call the Lane County Sheriff's Office at five point

(25:19):
four one six eighty two, four to one, four to one,
Option one. Robert Allen Wilderner seventy six year old Robert
Bob Alan Wilderer of Apple Valley, California, was supported missing
on May seventh, twenty twenty one. He was reported to

(25:40):
be camping around the Hot Springs area, possibly in an
attempt to repair and retrieve his other truck that broke
down over Easter holiday. He failed to return or contact
his family is expected on May five, which led to
them reporting him missing a few days later. Saline Valley,
where Bob was supposedly going to visit and spend some time,
is in a remote area National park, with the fifty

(26:01):
five mile drive from Big Pine taking close to three
hours because of the rugged road. His keys and cell
phone were found in his truck at his campsite, a
broken down Ford F two forty slash three fifty long bed.
Inyo County Search and Rescue has been scouring the area
near and around Saline Valley for any sign of Bob,
but nothing has been discovered at all as to where

(26:23):
he could have gone.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Or what could have happened to him.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
Both ground teams and arrow reconnaissance helped out in the
search as well. One member of a social media group
described as usual attire as always wearing a baseball cap
to protect his bald head, white facial hair, most likely
wearing shorts, a T shirt and flip flops.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
Probably has a backpack with him or a robe that
he would wear from the hot springs.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
Search teams included fifteen members from Ino Saar Mono SAAR
China Lake Mountain Rescue Group. Canines were provided through Karta
and aero support was provided by China Lake Naval Weapons Base.
The temperatures were reaching as high as ninety four degrees
on most days and even peaked at one hundred and
five degrees in Death Valley was not safe for ground

(27:08):
and foot searches, which thwarted that day's efforts. Aerial recon continued, however,
with a large scale grid search plan for that Thursday morning.
No updates have been posted in this case since June.
In December, a San Francisco man was found dead in
one of the thermal pools at the Primitive Campgrounds, which was
closed because of lockdown restrictions. Jessica Sweener Stycks. It's been

(27:36):
almost a year and the fate of twenty eight year
old Jessica Sweener Stycks.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Is still unknown.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
She was supported as missing just after ten pm Friday,
January first, twenty twenty one. Jessica and an unnamed mail
companion launched a boat in the Tallahatchie River that morning
at County Road forty six. The two planned to float
downstream in the little aluminum.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Boat when the water was high.

Speaker 6 (28:00):
People often shoot wild hogs from the river, but it's
unclear if that's what she and her male companion planned
to do. Jessica later got out of the boat, but
there's no information as to why she did this or
where she went. Authorities were notified about ten pm that
night after she failed to turn back up. About fifty
people were originally searching for the number later dwindled to

(28:22):
about a dozen. The searchers included two game wardens from
Idawamba County, members of the Union County Search and Rescue,
and the Union County Sheriff's Department, as well as an
MHP helicopter and a thermal imaging drone. Authorities searched until
around three am January two, and then resumed the search

(28:43):
the next morning and into the night. On Sunday, officials
searched all day until dark. The search area included an
area from County Road forty six at the Tallahatchie River
Bridge on Mississippi Highway thirty.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
West in Eda.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
Searchers combing the area located the boat about a mile
up river on the Rocky Ford Bridge. Her first was
in the boat, Authorady said the sheriff declined to identify
the man she was with. Jessica left several footprints behind
near the river, but she hasn't been seen since leaving
the boat. Her boots were later found they had been
cut off over Her coat and gloves were found near

(29:21):
her boots. She didn't have her cell phone with at
the time she left the boat. It was later located
and turned in. Jessica had three children. Her now being
raised by relative of hers who lives in Texas. Anyone
with any information about this strange disappearance is asked to
call the Lyon County Sheriff's Department. This is the most

(29:42):
recent information in the case, and it's worth saying here
that the rocky Ford Bridge is known for being very
haunted and has had many tragedies, both unexplained and otherwise
happening on near and around it. Joshua Seimisky, forty one
year old Joshua Semisky was going through a rough bat
in late twenty nineteen. He was struggling with addiction and

(30:03):
had recently been kicked out of his father's home. After
having nowhere else to stay, Joshua took to staying in
his car and traveling around looking for a floor or
a sofa to crash on. In early October, his mother,
Janie Marvin, deposited three thousand dollars into his bank account
after he told her that he needed the money to
help a woman he had met. The woman in question

(30:25):
has not been named, and we will be referring to
her as myths X the duration of this episode. On
October seventh, an Olympic Park ranger picked Joshua up and
dropped him off in the Shadow Mountain region of the
Olympic National Park. According to Missing NPF, Joshua wasn't carrying
any supplies and wasn't wearing suitable clothing to go hiking

(30:48):
or camping. The ranger also noticed that Joshua was barefoot
and warned him against camping as it wouldn't have been safe.
The ranger who picked Joshua reported that he offered Joshua
assistance multiple times, but each time Joshua refused. Unable to
be convinced, Joshua stepped out of the ranger's car and

(31:08):
wandered into the wilderness of Olympic National Park, barefoot and unprepared.
Just before he disappeared, Joshua sent a cryptic message to
his father's saying, I've given all my belongings to this person,
miss As, and I'm in trouble. They want me gone.
I need to get away car quick. In the messages,

(31:29):
Joshua told his father that he was in Port Angels,
Washington and needed an evacuation asap. However, when his parents arrived,
there was no sign of him. After they failed to
make contact with him, Joshua was officially reported missing, and
the Olympic Park Rangers began their search. In the ensuing weeks,
the Olympic Park Service and the Port Angelos Police Department

(31:51):
used ground and air crews to look for Joshua, but
there was no sign of him. His family were distraught
and made multiple appeals for anyone with him to come forward. Then,
a few weeks after Joshua had disappeared, his mother, Jane,
made a shocking discovery. While looking for her son, Janie
found Miss X driving Joshua's car and found that she

(32:14):
had been using his debit card. Also in her possession
were his phone, ID and wallet, along with three letters
supposedly written by Joshua signing over all of his worldly
possessions to her. Miss X made a string of bizarre
claims and statements to Janey, telling her that Joshua was
quote on a journey of self discovery and that he

(32:34):
would be back when he was ready now. This did
little to calm Janie's nerves and only compounded her fears
that something terrible had happened to Joshua. This bizarre claim
was backed up by an apparent signing of Joshua at
the Burger King in Sequin Washington. According to official reports,
the witness claims to have approach Joshua and ask him

(32:56):
if he was the man featured on the missing person's
posters around town. He replied that he was, but that
he didn't want to speak to his family or go home.
Not wanting to press the matter any further, the witness
left him alone and contacted the police. After this alleged sighting,
Joshua's case fell quiet until May twenty one, when a

(33:16):
shocking new clue was sent to Janey via Facebook. Janey
told mia Callumcounty dot com that a map was sent
to her via Facebook from a friend who knows the
person who drew it. According to the map's author, the
map shows the exact location where Joshua was shot and
buried back in twenty nineteen. However, despite an extensive search

(33:38):
of the area, no sign of Joshua has ever been found.
Deputy Brian King told the press, we executed a search
warrant and excavated a very large area, much larger than
where the map indicated he may have been buried, and
we did not discover a body or any additional evidence.
As of now, Joshua Semiski remains me and authorities believed

(34:01):
that he was a victim of foul play. Josh was
described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.
He stands five foot seven to five foot ten inches
tall and weighs between one hundred and fifty two one
hundred ninety pounds. He was last seen in the Shadow
Mountain region of the Olympic National Park on October seventh,
twenty nineteen. If you have any information, you're asked to

As they made chase, the car continued to speed through
the side streets and ended up racing down State Route one.
Sixty five. Officers followed the car, put on their lights
and signaled for the car to pull over, but the
driver was determined to keep going no matter how hard
they tried. The silver Ford failed to pull over, and
soon the chase was on. The chase continued as the

(35:08):
driver and officers of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office Piercely
tried to outdrive one another. After traveling through several towns,
the officers called it a day, realizing that they weren't
going to be able to catch up to the driver.
During the pursuit, they had logged the details of the car,
and once they were back at the station they would
be able to conduct a full investigation. Bizarrely enough, the

(35:31):
same silver Ford Escape was found a few hours later
near Evans Creek or V Park area in the Mount
Rainier National Park. The officers immediately recognized the car from
their chase earlier that day and approached the vehicle, hoping
to speak to the driver. When they got closer, they
realized that the car was on the side of a
steep embankment and there was no sign of the driver.

(35:54):
Upon checking the license plate and registration of the car,
they found that it belonged to thirty six year old
Austin O'Neill Chase and attempted to call him, but there.

Speaker 5 (36:03):
Was no answer.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
It wasn't until later that day that the circumstances of
their discovery became clear of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
When Austin failed to make contact with his family. He
was reported missing and his missing person report caught the
attention of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's office
put two and two together and knew that they had
been the last ones to see Austin. On January thirteenth,

(36:28):

with ground teams and sniffer dogs being dispatched to the area,
but sadly, no sign of Austin has.

Speaker 5 (36:38):

Speaker 6 (36:40):
With the one year anniversary of Austin's disappears slowly creeping
up on them, his family is growing more and more
desperate for answers. Austin was last seen on the Fairfax
Bridge in the Mount Rainier National Park. There's been no
activity on his cell phone or bank cards, and authorities
are extremely concerned for.

was last seen on January eleventh, twenty twenty one, at
his home in Everett, Washington. There are a few details
in Christopher's case, However, the details that have been released

(37:42):
to the public paint a very worrying picture of what
may have happened to Christopher. The Jarman family have since
suffered other tragedies, with Christopher's uncle passing away in February
twenty twenty one, and Jenny Jarman, Christopher's mother, being unable
to work due to a knee injury. The family friend
has set up but go fund me on their behalf,
and donations are welcome. The full details of Christopher's disappearance

(38:06):
are not known, and according to press releases, he was
last seen on January eleventh, twenty twenty one, at his home.
According to his family, Christopher was suffering from symptoms that
aligned with paranoid schizophrenia, believing that the government was trying
to kill him and that he was unsafe around his family.
His family has stated that they believe Christopher has taken

(38:27):
his own life and is believed that at the time
of his disappearance, Christopher was in the possession of a firearm.
Just two days after he disappeared, Christopher's car was discovered
in along Highway twenty across from Goodell Creek Campground in
the North Cascades National Park. Unfortunately, there was no sign
of Christopher or his dog, Bella, and park rangers continued

(38:48):
their search efforts well into the next few days. While
no sign of Christopher has ever been found, the go
fund me set upon behalf of the Jarman family, states
that Bella, Christopher's dog, was found fourteen days later in
a distressed state. She was malnourished, had an injured leg,
and was found half a mile away from where Christopher's

(39:09):
car had been discovered. Bella was taken to the vet,
but unfortunately, this latest development didn't bring the Jarmins any
closer to finding Christopher. On January thirtieth, twenty twenty one,
four search dog teams were assembled to look for Christopher
in the North Cascades National Park, but like previous searches,
they failed to turn up anything. It's been just over

(39:31):
a year since Christopher disappeared, and while his family believed
that he may have taken his own life. They want

use his car to go and buy cigarettes, and as
the hours passed, it became obvious that something had happened
to her. According to her sister, Paula Sims, she was
living with her son in Fort Payne for a few
days and she had asked him to use his car
to go and buy cigarettes, and no one has seen
her since. It's been a nightmare. Each day makes it harder.

(40:38):
In the very beginning, we sat around and wondered if
she's outside, if she's cold, if she's hungry, is she
lost or did someone snatch her up. Just hours after
she disappeared, the car that she was driving was discovered
on the bridge at Alabama Highway thirty five in the
Little River Falls National Park parking lot. The National Park

(40:59):
Service searched the car are for any clues, but all
they could find was Yvonne's phone. A full missing person
report was filed by Yvonne's family, and following the discovery
of the car, a search of the Little River Falls
National Force commenced. According to news reports, the Fort Payne
Fire and Police departments, Fisher Rescue Squad, and aerial drone

(41:20):
operators all joined in with a search to find Yvonne,
but were unable to find any trace of her. As
the days passed, the concern for her welfare grew, and
her husband, Quasi Covington, commented that he had concerns for
her mental state. Shortly before she went missing, Yvonne spent
five days as the Gasden Regional Medical Center, where she

received treatment for her mental health. This hospitalization fueled fears
that Yvonne had disappeared and had potentially harmed herself, possibly even.

Twenty five year old Vincent G had a promising future
ahead of him. In his LinkedIn bio, he described himself
as a responsible, motivated, and team oriented individual. Bilingual in
English and Indonesian, with an intermediate understanding of Chinese and
conversational Japanese. At the time of his disappearance, Vincent was

(42:56):
working at West Seattle Foods and had recently finished his
mass degree in business administration. By all accounts, Vincent's future
was promising and it was beginning to flourish right before
his eyes. However, June twenty twenty would see that future
be taken away from him, and as of twenty twenty two,
Vincent g remains missing. According to the Missing NPF website,

(43:22):
Vincent was last seen on June nineteenth, twenty twenty, hiking
the Van Trump Trail towards Mildred Point in the Mountaineer
National Park. It appears that Vincent had entered the park
in the day's beforehand and had previously hiked the Alta
Vista trail. When Vincent failed to return home that same evening,
he was reported missing. An investigation was opened. The Pierce

(43:44):
County Sheriff's Office, along with the National Park Service worked
together in a joint effort to locate Vincent. However, they
found no sign of him. Days later, Vincent's car was
discovered in the Visitors Services Center in Longmire Mountaineer National Park.
His car held no clues as to his whereabouts. Bizarrely,

(44:04):
two other men, Matthew Bunker and Tulao Sabah, also disappeared
in the mountain near National Park around the same time
as Vincent. The bodies of Tulao and Matthew were both
recovered in June twenty twenty and August twenty twenty, respectively.
Tillao's cause of death has not been released, while it's
been determined that bunker fell while climbing. For Vincent's family

(44:27):
and friends, their search continues. According to Vincent's father, in
October twenty twenty, K nine units were assembled to try
and locate Vincent and helped the numerous volunteers and police
officers in their search. As of this day in twenty

Ian Eccles had planned to spend Sunday, the seventeenth of

the Okanagan Monachi National Forest. Ian and his thread had
done turkey hunting together before and had thirdly enjoyed themselves

(45:33):
so much so that they had agreed to meet in
the same spot again. For another trip. As Ian thren
pulled into Spur one thirty off four Service Road in

by Ian's beaming smile. However, as he parked his car,
he noticed that there was no sign of Ian. His
friend had received a text message from him the day

(45:53):
before saying that he was in the Liberty area, so
where was he now. The concern for Ian's welfare only
grew when he failed to show up for work on
May eighteenth, twenty twenty, something that was completely out of
character for the man. His daughter, twenty two year old
Audrey Elkins, told The Seattle Times, He's not the type
of person who says he's going to show up somewhere

(46:16):
and not do it. When Ian failed to show up
for work, his boss and his friend contacted his ex
girlfriend and his daughter, who in turn filed a missing
person report. The search for Ian ensued almost immediately, with
officers and volunteers searching the volcanegan Wnatchi National Forest in
the area that Ian was last believed to have been in.

(46:39):
Days after Ian was reported missing, searchers discovered Ian's car
on Forced Service Road ninety seven thirty eight, the rear
window had been knocked out, and there was one other
thing that puzzled his friends. Someone was driving the car,
and that someone was not Ian Eccles. His friends tried
to talk to the driver and get his mon's information

(46:59):
as could, but within minutes the man had ran off,
leaving behind Ian's car. Bewildered by what they had just experienced,
Ian's friends took a moment before peering inside the car.
Their hearts sank when they realized that there was blood
all over the interior. Ian's disappearance has now turned into
a homicide investigation, and while searching for Ian, the US

(47:22):
four Service made a very puzzling discovery. Tucked away off
Spur Road one point thirty was a green Ford expedition
that was registered to eighty year old Nancy Holtz. She
had been missing reported on May thirteenth, twenty twenty. Sadly,
Nancy's body was found at her home on May eleventh,
twenty twenty, with the lead investigator reporting because of the

(47:44):
state of decomposition and that no signs of trauma were
visually seen, no autopsy was performed and she was later cremated.
Both Ian's and Nancy's cars had been part close to
each other, and it would later transpire that they were
stolen by the same men, Alcantara Gonzalez. While Alcantara Gonzalez

(48:04):
was not charged in connection with Nancy's death, investigators found
evidence to connect him to Ian's disappearance. Inside Ian's car,
they found blood along with Alcantara's driving license, and within
Nancy's car they found two guns, a parking paths that
was registered to Ian, and Ian's bloodstained sleeping bag. Those

(48:25):
who discovered Ian's car also positively identified Alcnzara as the
person they saw driving the car, and now the chase
was on. What started as a missings person's case had
now morphed into a recovery mission and a search for
a fugitive. After almost ten days of hunting him and
the involvement of one hundred officers, George Alcontara was finally

(48:45):
captured and arrested, and refused to speak to the police
about what happened to Eccles. According to news reports, Alcantara
pled guilty to eight felonies, however, has not yet been
tried for the murder of Ian Eccles. According to Ice
Alcantara had faced six charges between twenty seventeen and twenty
nineteen for crimes such as dui and theft.

Speaker 5 (49:07):
Missing.

Speaker 6 (49:07):
Npf dot Com reports that on March nineteenth, twenty nineteen,
he meaning Alcantara was arrested by the Santle Police Department
for three council of failure to comply and detained at
the King County Jail. On March twenty first, twenty nineteen,
Ice lodged an immigration detainer, but the jail failed to
honor it and he was released back into the community

(49:28):
without prior notification to ICE. The case against Alconsara is
currently ongoing and Ian's family are desperate for answers and
want nothing more than to know where his body is
so they can bring him home and put him to rest.
Evidence put forward by investigators suggests that Ian died on
the night of May sixteenth, twenty twenty, or in the

(49:48):
early morning hours of May seventeenth, twenty twenty. Anyone with
any information deserves to come forward and contact the Kinetas
County Dispatch Center at five zero nine eight five three

Richie Ambrose Collins was officially reported missing on April thirtieth,
twenty nineteen, when park rangers determined that his car had
been unattended for two weeks at the Colonial Creek campground
in the North Cascades National Park. When park rangers checked
the car, they noticed that his car keys were sitting
on the roof, but there was no sign of Richie.

(50:31):
There's a limited amount of information out there about Richie's disappearance,
and his daughter Britney, has been instrumental in keeping her
father's case alive. She's also kept pressure on local authorities
to keep the investigation moving. According to the Walkcom County
Sheriff's Department, we found out that the family said mister
Collins had a lot of firearms in his possession. He

(50:52):
was in the army, he worked for Customs and Border Patrol,
and his firearms were nowhere to be found, and his
gun safe was open as well, and no firearms were
inside that safe. We searched the residents, we searched cross spaces.
We didn't find any firearms. We just don't know where
the guns are at this time and what would happen
with that many guns. Family members said that he had

(51:14):
at least thirty guns in his possession, so it's just
odd that that many guns are missing and we haven't
found him yet. There were extensive searches over the area
and the surrounding trails were searched as well. However, there
was no sign of Richie. The most frequent update in
Richie's case comes from Brittany, his daughter, who runs the
Facebook page Missing Richie Collins. In a post dated December eighteenth,

and there is only one official press release pertaining to
his disappearance. According to this press release, Daniel was last

but wasn't reported missing until December.

Speaker 5 (54:04):

Speaker 6 (54:05):
It's believed that Daniel either worked as a day labor
or a mechanic and lived at his home near Massaveriti
National Park alone. The search of his property was conducted
in May of twenty twenty one. However, the Monazuma County
Sheriff's office failed to find any sign of Daniel or
any clues to his whereabouts. In a press release, the
Monizuma County Sheriff Steve Nallan said, it's a big mystery.

We don't know where he's at. Sometimes people just take off.
We can't show that there's been any foul play whatsoever.
As of writing this episode, Daniel Cooke Stevenson still remains
missing and the Manasouma County Sheriff's Office is appealing to
anyone with any information to police come forward. Daniel's family
has been unable to provide a recent photograph of him,

According to reports, Shirley was using the Courtz Creek trail
from Middle FOURK Road to North Bend. Has not been
stated whether other hikers saw Shirley on this path, and

(55:33):
anyone who may have seen her is asked to come forward.
When Shirley failed to return home days later, she was
officially reported missing and the National Park Service, along with
the King County Sheriff's Office, began air and land searches.
For while investigators failed to find Shirley. They did find
her camping and hiking equipment, which added to their concerns
for her safety. According to friends and family, Shirley was

(55:57):
an extremely experienced hiker and it seems character for her
to leave her gear behind. Shirley's cart was also found
abandoned near trailhead, but since this discovery there has been
no sign of Shirley. Their searches were called off in
late July. However, ground searches continued and the King County
Sheriff's Office is still investigating Shirley's disappearance. At the time

(56:18):
of her disappearance, Shirley was believed to have been carrying
a phone and wearing brown sunglasses, and also carried reading glasses.

just really want my mom and best friend back, and
finally number one. Lucy Schumann. Forty eight year old Lucy
Schumann was reported missing on September nineteenth, twenty nineteen, by

(57:37):
the owner of the rental property she was staying in
at Coral Bay, Saint John, virgin Islands, when she failed
to check out as planned. Upon entering the property, the
owner found all of her belongings, but there was no
sign of Lucy, which prompted him to phone the police
and report her missing. A preliminary search showed that Lucy
lad left her backpack and passport in the rental apartment,

(57:58):
and it's theorized that she went high in the Virgin
Islands National Forest and possibly encountered trouble while out on
her hike. The Virgin Islands Police Department quickly began their
search for Lucy, searching on land and in the water.
For Carl Caesar, who was a spokesperson for the Virgin
Islands Police, sent in a statement to CNN on September
twenty fifth, twenty nineteen, the search now includes some of

(58:20):
the most remote and rugged areas of the park. The
train is very steep and thickly vegetated. All conditions are hot,
wet and humid. Much of the southern shoreline of Saint
John's Cliff and borders and access is limited to swimming
in from a small watercraft. During the initial search for Lucy,
the island was hit by the thread of a tropical storm,
which only complicated the search efforts. It also deepened the

(58:43):
concern for investigators who wondered whether Lucy had access to
water and shelter. A few days after Lucy was reported missing,
searchers found her daypack on the Ramhead trail, but according
to investigators, the daypak offered them little information. Lucy's family
only having given up in their quest for answers and
are asking anyone with information to police come forward and

hopped into his two thousand and nine Nissan Versa, equipped
with camping and survival gear along with a nine middimeter handgun.
Before leaving, he left his parents a note telling them
he was going to take his own life, and just
like that, he disappeared into the darkness. When Jed's parents

woke up the next morning went to the bedroom to
check on him, they were heartbroken to see his bedroom
was empty and that the note lay on his desk.
After reading the contents of that note, his parents rushed
to the nearest phone and reported him missing. To the
Idaho Falls Police Department. Soon a wide scale search is underway,
with his parents, Amy and Allan joining in. Alan told

from the night before. As they scanned through hours of footage,

(01:00:54):
something finally caught their eye. At two thirty one am.
The video showed Jed for breaking a window and gaining

and slipped a thousand dollars in cash, a necklace, and

(01:01:15):
a note into her locker. Once he was finished, he
slipped out of the school, got back into his car,
and disappeared into the darkness once more. A few hours
between entering the school and his phone going dead have
not been accounted for. Interestingly, most sources state that Jed
left behind a journal where his car had been parked
at home. Inside the journal were lists of things he

(01:01:37):
was going to take with him and plans for disguises.
Was the note of red herring or did Jed really
intend on taking his own life that night? His family
and friends said he loved the show Hunted and was
in the Civil Air Patrol and wanted to join the
military after school. Despite huge search efforts, not a single
sign of Jed has ever been found. Investigation dwindled, Jed's

parents called in the help of a private.

Speaker 5 (01:02:03):
Investigator, Jim Terry.

Speaker 6 (01:02:06):
In an interview with the East Idaho News in April
of twenty twenty, Jim put forward some very bizarre theories
that both the Idaho Falls Police and Jed's parents seem
to disagree with. Jim alleges that Jed had a female
friend who had been assaulted, and that Jed wanted to
get his revenge and stand up for the details surrounding
this seemed rather thin, and this article details how there

(01:02:28):
was a shooting on the night that Jed disappeared that
took place on the driveway of a person who may
have known Jed's female friend. Jed's parents rebuted this theory
and said Jed was skilled enough that if he wanted
to hurt somebody in the technical and tactical sense, that
wouldn't have been something he wasn't capable of. He wouldn't
have done it. I don't believe he would have done it,
but his ability. He was a pretty well trained kid.

(01:02:51):
Since the early morning hours of January twenty second, twenty eighteen,
Jed Hall has never been seen or heard from again.
His family are extremely concerned for his welfare and are
offering a twenty thousand dollars reward for any information. Jed
Hall is described as a white male with brown hair
and brown hazel eyes. Five eleven, one hundred and twenty pounds.

(01:03:12):
In a Facebook post to the page Missing Jed Hall,
his family wrote, thirty one months gone, twenty thousand dollars
reward for information leading to finding my son or for
information helping me find the Nissan Versa he took missing
all that time. We won't ever get back such a
huge hole in our hearts and lives. Anyone with any

(01:03:56):
intriguing and confusing, and there is so few details available
about his background or his disappearance. According to the website
Strange outdoors dot com, Max's LinkedIn profile listed him as
a clandestine analyst at the US Department of Homeland Security
Clioley's profile is no longer active. Various sources mentioned that
he also worked for the San Francisco Civil Service Commission

(01:04:18):
as a transit planner, and that disemployment was terminated in
two thousand and four. Now, the web Solution forum is
filled with theories and ideas about this case. However, without
much solid information, these ideas and theory remained just that
In two thousand and five, Max faced federal charges for
vandalizing an FBI lobby in San Francisco after he demanded

(01:04:39):
to speak with FBI agents. The article by the San
Francisco Gate states that he threw a plant against the wall,
broke the legs off chairs, and damaged glass display cases.
The FBI alleged that he caused seven four hundred and
ninety one dollars in damages. It's unclear whether Max damaged
the lobby because he was told he couldn't meet with agents,
or whether he just had a sudden nowt burst. There

(01:05:01):
isn't much follow up information available about this incident. However,
Strange Outdoors also uncovered that in twenty sixteen, Max was
arrested again under charges of threats of violence, annoying and obscene,
threatening phone calls, threatening state officials or judges, and warrants
their holds only. The main question is why was Max
so insistent on speaking to FBI agents and judges and

(01:05:24):
state officials. Did he really have ties to homeland security
or was this just something he had popped onto his
LinkedIn profile. The only details surrounding his disappearance are as follows.
Somewhere around January first to January fifth, Max entered the
Yosemite National Park and left his car at the Camp
for parking lot. On January fifth, the rental company that

(01:05:47):
Max had rented the car from reported that the car
was overdue, and subsequently it was located in the Camp
four lot, but there was no sign of Max. Yosemite
National Park Service issued a tweet on January sixth, twenty eighteen,

already been reported missing and an investigation was underway.

nine two Next up David Cook. On September nineteenth sixteen,
David Dave Cook enter d the White River National Forest
in Aspen, Colorado, and planned on hiking to Maroon Bells
and Pyramid Peak alone. Dave was a former Marine and
had gone on plenty of hikes before, so he was

(01:07:14):
well equipped for this trip. In fact, this hike was
to be his forty seventh summit of a fourteen er,
and Dave was excited to get his trip under way. Unfortunately, however,
Dave failed to return home after his trip, and his
family immediately knew that something was wrong. Dave was described
by his wife, Marine as a kind and caring person
who wouldn't just leave his family. The Maroon Bells consist

(01:07:37):
of two peaks, Maroon Peak, which is fourteen one hundred
and sixty three feet tall and North Maroon Peak, which
was fourteen thy nineteen feet tall. The Pyramid Peak is
also a similar height at fourteeny twenty five feet, and
as Dave was a former Marine and had done forty
six summits before, neither heat nor his family was too worried. However,

(01:07:59):
the Maroon Bells picked up the unfortunate nickname of the
Deadly Bells over the years, and it appears that the
Deadly Bells may have indeed claimed another victim. According to reports,
Dave entered the White River National Forest on September nineteenth,
twenty sixteen, and planned to climb North Maroon Peak first.
Ark rangers and records indicate that Dave arrived at the

(01:08:21):
park at around eleven am and set off on his
solo heigh. There was no indication that anything was wrong,
and Dave carried on throughout the day. Other hikers also
reported seeing him on South Maroon at around one forty
pm on September nineteenth of twenty sixteen. The next known
movements are at between four pm and six pm, when
Dave's phone pinged from inside the park. Unfortunately, investigators were

(01:08:45):
not able to determine which peak the pin had come
from then. On September twentieth, twenty sixteen, a day after
Dave had entered the park, a parking attendant recalls seeing
Dave that morning. This is the last confirmed sighting of
Dave Cook since that day. September twentieth, twenty sixteen, there's
been no sign of him. David only planned to be

(01:09:06):
gone for a few days, so when he felt her
turn home, his wife knew immediately that something was very,
very wrong. When she was unable to get a hold
of him, she called the park rangers and contacted the
Pitkin County Sheriff's Office to report her husband missing. The
Pitkin County Sheriff's Office sprang into action and began their
search for Dave on foot and by air. Mountain Rescue ASPEN,

(01:09:28):
an all volunteer nonprofit organization, also joined in for the search,
utilizing the tools and expertise they had at hand. Unfortunately,
despite their best efforts, no sign of Dave could be located,
and the search was called off after a few days
due to bad weather and heavy snowfall. Investigators later searched
Dave's car for any clues and found that his map

(01:09:48):
for Peyer mid Peak was still in his car. According
to the Facebook page find Dave Cook, his map for
peer mid Peak was still in the car, although perhaps.

Speaker 5 (01:09:58):
He just forgot the map.

Speaker 6 (01:10:00):
Dave did not have his crampons with him, but he
did have micro spikes. Search and Rescue and the Picking
County Sheriff's Office did a good job searching. There were
multiple helicopters, boots on the ground, a plane with a
million dollar camera, and sniffer dogs used in the search. Unfortunately,
even with all this high technology at their disposal, the

(01:10:20):
Pickin County Sheriff's Office and search and rescue teams have
been unable to find any trace of Dave. Over the years,
multiple additional searches have been conducted, and the Pickin County
Sheriff's Office has made it clear that they have not
given up in their search.

Speaker 5 (01:10:34):
For the remains of Dave.

Speaker 6 (01:10:36):
In the wake of Dave's mysterious disappearance, Marine Dave's wife,
along with members of Dave's family, set up the Dave
Gives Back campaign to help raise funds and awareness for
search and rescue teams in both Colorado and New Mexico.
Marine wants to ensure that Dave is not forgotten and
other families do not have to endure the same ordeal.
Forty nine year old Dave Cook was last seen in

(01:10:59):
the White River National Forest on September twentieth, twenty sixteen.
He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a long sleeved
black shirt, a blue helmet and possibly a gray jacket.

(01:11:25):
There's a distinct lack of information in the case of
sixty eight year old Breck Phelps, but here's what we
do know. On October two, twenty sixteen, Breck went on
a fishing trip on the Stanislau River in the Stanislaw
National Forest in Tulammee County, California. Unfortunately, Breck never returned
to the shore that has been missing ever since. According

(01:11:47):
to reports, Breck's friend found his two thousand and seven
Nissan VERSUSA parked along Highway one oh eight close to
the Don Elvista Point. The Don Elvis To Point is
a trail in the Stannislaw National Forest. He gives way
to some of the most beautiful views in the park.
According to Strange outdoors dot Com, the tract of land
around Dunnell Point is described as large and vast, with

(01:12:09):
extreme changes in elevation, deep canyons, with heavy foliage, and cold,
fast running water that filled.

Speaker 5 (01:12:16):
Crevices and ledges.

Speaker 6 (01:12:18):
This was the trail Breck used in order to get
to the Danislaus River. When Brek's friends and family realized
he was missing, they continue the Tuolommee County Sheriff's Office,
who embarked on an intensive search form using helicopters, sniffer dogs,
and officers on the ground and in the water. The
Sheriff's office and search and rescue teams searched for Breck

(01:12:39):
but found no sign of them. The Satislaus River and
other pockets of water were searched extensively as well, but
there was no sign of him ever found there. There
have been two other mysterious disappearances in Donell Vista over
the years, and there are cases that will be featured
later on in this video. Sixty eight year old Breg
Phelps was last seen on October six at twenty sixteen

(01:13:01):
in the Stanislaus River in the Stanislau National Forest in California.
He is described as a white male with gray hair,
blue eyes, standing five foot ten inches tall and weighing about.

Forest in California. Again, there's not much information available, but
here is what we do know.

Forty eight year.

Speaker 6 (01:13:46):
Old Patricia owned the Patty Shack restaurant in East Sonora
that was known as a kind and loving person. Unfortunately,
shortly before her disappearance, Patty had been going through some
financial hardships and had taken a toll houner. She was
stressed out and was hoping that things would settle down
and sort themselves out. The last confirmed sighting and Patricia

(01:14:07):
was on April eighteenth, twenty fourteen, in twain Hart, California,
and while this was the last time she was seen,
it wasn't the last time that her loved once heard
from her. On April twentieth, twenty fourteen, Patricia posted a
letter to her friends telling them that she was going
to Kennedy Meadows along the Pacific Crest Trail Desert. This
area is called the Promised Land, as hikers have to

(01:14:29):
hike over seven hundred miles to reach this beautiful spot.
In the letter, Patricia told her friends that she was
going to put her feet in the water, and many
hikers talk about the magnificent waters that Kennedy Meadows. After this,
Patricia has never been seen or heard from again. When
Patricia failed to make contact with friends and family, the

(01:14:51):
Tuolomee County Sheriff's Office was made a ware for disappearance
and began their search for It would take two days
the Tuolommee County Sheriff's Office to find their first clue.
On April twenty second, Patricia's white Toyota four Runner was
found alongside Highway one O eight at Dannel Vista Point.
Inside was her handbag and other personal items. There was

(01:15:14):
no indication of where Patricia could have gone, and the
Sheriff's office continued their search of the surrounding areas. Unfortunately,
these searches have turned up nothing. As of twenty twenty two,
Patricia remains missing. Patricia Sue Tolhurst was last seen on
April eighteenth, twenty fourteen, in Twainhart, California. She is described

Speaker 6 (01:16:18):
Brian George Brunell forty eight year old Brian George Burnell
was last seen on October thirty, first Halloween twenty eleven,
at his sister's home in Pleasant Hill, California. The details
surrounding Brian's case are incredibly limited, and all we know
is that prior to his disappearance, Brian had been depressed
about being out of work and also had financial worries.

(01:16:41):
After leaving his sister's home, Brian simply dropped off the
face of the earth, and it wouldn't be until two
weeks later that the pleasant Hill Police Department would get
their first clue. On November fifteenth, twenty eleven, Brian's abandoned
car was found at the Boulder Creek Falls trailhead in
the List Town National Recreation Area by staff. Following this development,

(01:17:04):
the National Park Service Rangers, the Shasta County Sheriff's Department,
the Shasta County Search and Rescue teams, and the California
Highway Patrol began their search for Brian on foot and
by air. These teams scoured the woods surrounding Mill Creek
and Boulder Creek, but unfortunately, there was no sign of Brian.
After November seventeenth, twenty eleven, the search will scale back

(01:17:27):
and has been quietly ongoing ever since. Brian George Burnell
was last seen on October thirty first, twenty eleven, in

meet up with his two daughters. Unfortunately, David never arrived,
prompting his daughters to report him missing. As with most
cases featured in this episode, there's not a whole lot
of information and all we can do is report the
facts that are presented to us. The next update on
David's case doesn't come until late August of two thousand

(01:18:31):

abandoned in Bankhead Forest, just off County Road B fifteen
in Winston County, Alabama. After talking to locals, the Coleman
County Sheriff's Office learned that David had last been seen
at the Jet PEP gas station on Highway one fifty

It's not been seen or heard from since. According to locals,
David's car may have been there since July seventh, two
thousand and seven, and was it reported or properly noted
until over a month later. According to the Charlie Project,
the red Toyota Tursell was out of gas and the

(01:19:15):
battery was missing. Apart from that, there was no signs
of a struggle or any indication that anything untoward had happened. Sadly,
David left behind six children and other family members who
are all desperate for answers. His profile on the Charlie
Project reads David's mother, sister, and six children all stated

he would not have left of his own accord, and
they think he may have met with foul play. They
stated he had enemies who could have armed him. David

disappearance of Nita Mayo. Sixty four year old Needa Mayo

(01:20:38):
was a hard working and loving woman who cared for
not just her family, but others during their time of need.
Nito worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN at
Mount Grant General Hospital Clinic in Hawthorne, Nevada, and everyone
who met her simply adored her need. Also loved the
great outdoors and loved to drive into nature and explore.

(01:20:58):
Her daughter Tracy told COLOTV getting to know all parts
of the United States was something she enjoyed, and she
loved scenery. She was always putting us in the car
and just driving to discover things. On August eighth, two
thousand and five, Nita hopped into her silver nineteen ninety

(01:21:20):
a bit of shopping. Nita had the day off work,
so she met up with a friend to have breakfast,
and by eleven am the two were done in Nita
was on her way to California. Nita was excited about
her trip as it would take her over the Sonora Pass,
a beautiful mountain road in California. The road has only
opened at certain times of the year due to the weather,
and lucky for Nita, it was opened in August of

(01:21:41):
two thousand and five. When Nita failed to show up
for work on August nine, two thousand and five, however,
her coworkers knew that something was very, very wrong. Nita
was dedicated to her job and was considered a dependable
and well respected nurse. It was extremely out of character
her to not show up to work without even calling in.

(01:22:03):
When her colleagues tried to call her home and received
no answer, they called Nita's next to ken her children
to inform them that they had been unable to make
contact with their mother. After hearing this news, her four
children made the decision to report their mother missing, and
soon County Sheriff's office launched an investigation. Her children were

(01:22:24):
concerned that she may have had an accident on the
road between Hawthorne and Sonora. Despite lengthy searches throughout the
day and night, no sign of Nita was found. Then,
just two days after she mysteriously disappeared, a shocking discovery
was made. On August tenth, two thousand and five, Nita's
nineteen ninety seven silver Mercury sable was discovered in the

parking lot at Donnell's Vista in the Stanslaw National Forest.
Part of this area is a lookout over route went
Away that Nita would have driven down to get to
and from Sonora and Hawthorne. Bizarrely, her car was found
locked with her keys, hand back, purse, ID and phone
all neatly tucked away inside. There were other items in
the car. The only thing that was missing was the

(01:23:07):
camera that she had taken with her to take pictures
of her trip. Despite numerous searches from both the air
and on the ground, no sign of Nita Mayo has
ever been discovered. Snip her dogs were brought in, However,
they were unable to follow her scent for more than
a few yards. According to the Charlie Project, jewel gene
Rice was mentioned in connection with Nita's case. On Nita's

(01:23:30):
Charlie Project profile. It reads in September two thousand and five,
authorities announced they were seeking Jewel Gene Rice in connection
with Mayo's disappearance. She's not being called a suspect in
Nita's case, but investigators believe that she's a person of
interest and may have some valuable information. Police stated Rice's
vehicle had mechanical problems in the Sonora Era on the

(01:23:52):
day Nita disappeared, and she was going around asking people
for help. Despite all this information and developments, however, the
police are it's still no closer to solving the mystery
of what happened to Anita Male on that sunny August afternoon.
Nita was last seen in Hawthorne, Nevada, on August eight,
two thousand and five. She speaks of the British accent,
although the particular accent is not specified, as there are

(01:24:14):
actually one hundreds of British accents and she is a
British national. She is described as a white female with
brown hair, brown hazel eyes, around five foot tall and
one hundred and forty pounds. Nita wears oval shaped prescription
glasses with gold wire frames and has her ears pierced.
She was last seen wearing a gold mother's ring with
a paradot pink stone, a bluestone and a purple stone

(01:24:37):
on her right ring finger and possibly a Celtic style
silver necklace and a silver style necklace with one blue

Thirty three year old Patrick Terrence Whalen was described by
those who knew him best as warm, spirited and kind hearted.
Patrick was training to become a naturopath doctor and had
recently finished his bachelor's degree. According to sources, he worked

(01:25:19):
extensively with charities raising money for cystic fibrosis research and
dedicated his time to those in need. When Patrick wasn't
looking after the underdog or studying hard for his degree,
he could be found hiking in the wilderness. In fact,
his friends and family jokingly called him the Survivalist thanks
to as many hours and hundreds of miles along the
Pacific Crest Trail and in the Glacier National Park, the

(01:25:42):
Blackfeet Tribal Lands, and the Columbia Falls region of Montana.
Patrick was well versed in the outdoors and believed that
nature had a way of healing us. The last time
Patrick was seen or heard from was on November second,
two thousand, when he was in Glacier Park in Montana.
As previously mentioned, Patrick had been spending a lot of

(01:26:03):
time in Glacier Park and other National parks and forests
in the area. Reports to not give an exact date, however,
but sometime after November two, Patrick's car was found abandoned
at the Lake McDonald Lodge restaurant on the US Highway
eighty nine and State Highway forty nine, towards the eastern
edge of Glacier National Park. It wouldn't be until May
twenty seventh, two thousand and one, that investigators would get

(01:26:26):
their next big clue when they found an abandoned camp
that Patrick had made. The camp was found at the
Atlantic Creek Backcountry campground along the north fork of Cutbank
Creek near bad Marriage Mountain and Medicine Grizzly Peak. Park
rangers were able to make an identification quickly, as Patrick's
personal items had been left behind, However, there was no
sign of Patrick. Reports don't indicate how long the camp

(01:26:49):
had been there or how long Patrick had been gone
from the camp. By this point, Patrick's family knew that
something terrible must have happened to him. They consider him
a true survivalist in every sense of the world, and
he had a kind heart, so it was very unlike
him not to make contact with friends or family, or
to just miss his classes. Unfortunately, extensive searches of all

(01:27:10):
the areas mentioned previously have turned up nothing. However, his
family are still holding out hope that one day Patrick
will walk through the front door and that they will
be reunited again. In two thousand and eight, his family
held a vigil in honor of his memory, and since
then have continued fighting for answers. Patrick Terrence Whalen was

(01:27:30):
last seen on November second, two thousand, in Glacier Park, Montana.
He was originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but was living in Portland,
Oregon at the time of his disappearance. Patrick has described
as a white male with bond hair hazel eyes. He
stood six feet tall and weighed about one hundred and
fifty five pounds. The Charlie Project notes. According to his family,

(01:27:51):
Patrick was displaying signs of mental illness, including obsessive behavior
and paranoia. At the time his disappearance, he may have

search and rescue teams are still desperately searching for him,

that happened and were heartbroken. I tried to grab him

Every time I'd grab him and just slammed right back

he was already drifted away. Search and rescue teams, along

Peter Jackson, seventy four year old Peter Jackson last made
contact with his son on September seventeenth, twenty sixteen. According
to reports, Peter told his son that he was on
his way to the Yosemite National Park. There are very
few details available in Peter's case, but we do know
from a Yosemite National Park Facebook post that Peter was

(01:31:05):
in both good physical condition and was known to do moderate,
distrenuous hikes around five miles in length. His family believed
that he was likely headed into Yosemite for a day hike,
but the direction of where he was headed is unknown.
Shortly after he vanished, his disappearance was reported to the
Yosemite Park Rangers and the local police. His car was

(01:31:26):
discovered at the White Wolf camp site number fifty eight
with a ticket that was paid up until September twenty
first to twenty sixteen. Unfortunately, there was no sign of
Peter with his car and multiple searches by land and
air have turned up nothing. That was until twenty nineteen,
when his Royal Blue Outdoor Products backpack was found by

fellow hikers in the Akreson Meadow Aspen Valley area of
the Yosemite National Park. A short summary of Peter's case
was posted to the r slash missing four to one

of a deep canyon. There's only one way down to

(01:32:09):
the valley floor, or if you stay on the ridge,
you could end up falling down the side and probably
get stuck halfway down. It's not a sheer cliff. It
is at some points, but for the most part a
person would have to have climbing ropes to scale down
either way. This area is outside the normal slash, regular

is not a place to go hiking by yourself, he continues.

there have been no further developments in the search for Peter.
