(00:25):
everything in between.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
So, guys, you know what's really funny about this.
Hold on, I gotta stop you forthat.
Yeah, go for it Cut the beat.
So no, here we go.
So it's so funny.
On the first episode.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
You know our tagline.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Do you realize that we've said it wrong, like for
three episodes in a row?
Huh, people show about nothingeverything and anything in
between.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Some peoplebrought it up to me.
A daughter brought it up to me.
She said every time you say it,you say it different.
Oh, that's funny.
Episode two it's different.
Episode three it's different.
And an example we said a showabout one time.

(01:02):
He would say nothing, anythingand everything, and then it
would be nothing Right.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It would always change as long as I get those
three words in there, we're good.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
So we've been hitting , you've been batting a thousand
yeah for today.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
At least, guys, I can carry the team and always get
our outro.
The same exact way every time.
So I'm glad I can at least dothat for you guys.
A lot of you can't really be onmy wave, surf's up.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I was trying not to say anything, I was like I know,
dude, we were on the same wave, let's just look at them.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
We're going to look at them.
You know what?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Speaking of waves, we were just going to let John
ride that out and just see howlong he would have gone, but the
surf's up got me, that got me.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
That got me.
That was a good one, I waslaughing.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
That was good hey that was better than the first
one.
The first one was like you know, oh, now you're doing it.
Okay, got it.
Reverse psychology.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
This is our, this is our Super Bowl episode.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yes, yeah, so we should say that we got off the
track.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Goal Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
This Sunday it is coming up and we are excited for
football team A to playfootball team.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
B, team B.
Look who you have as a rule.
Who do you want?
Who do you want?

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Anybody but the Chiefs.
Honestly, I don't care.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
That's me too.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, how about you, john?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Man, if we can pull the Rangers into the finals, oh
gosh, that would be the finals, the finals.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, if we could get the Rangers there?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
I mean, it would sure be a sweep of the leg.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
So here's the deal, even though this is probably
have to drink a Hell, mary, okay.
Well, you got that part.
There you go.
So, even though this is theSuper Bowl episode and we're
taping it now, the teams havealready been decided who in the
Super Bowl at the time this airs.
Right, right, I'm going to gofor the Ravens and the Lions.
That's who I want to see in theSuper Bowl.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Ravens and the Lions.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, that'd be good, that'd be great.
Yep, I like that.
Yeah, john, who do you thinkwho'd win Ravens Lions?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Well, considering that I'm on to you, these teams
aren't in the even in therankings.
Oh, they are.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
They actually, they didn't make them up.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
You're not setting me up.
They're actually not a setup.
So the Lions are the Ravens.
The Lions, that's who I want toSuper Bowl, I mean right now,
as we're filming, there's onlyfour teams left.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Can you give me those ?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yes, so the.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Chiefs, the Ra, the Chiefs and Ravens.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
The Chiefs and the Chiefs play the Ravens Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, and the Lions and the 49ers, yes, yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Whoa.
Those are the last four teamsto play each other.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Okay, okay, cool, quit trivia.
Which city are the 49ers from?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Well, there's 52 states, so they have to be the
49th.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
So these are the most .
Most sports teams are fromcities, not necessarily states.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Oh, so it's a city Pretty much.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, that's when I met, when I said city.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
The 49ers are from what?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I think I said city, city 49ers.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Here's your quiz 49ers, 49ers.
Yes, I honestly have no clue.
All right, so San Francisco?
I don't even want to guess.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
All right.
So San Francisco.
So real quick.
We kind of went off the track.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Do you know what's in San Francisco?
What Do you know what's in SanFrancisco?
The?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Golden Gate Bridge.
Okay Great, that was funny.
Oh my gosh.
Okay, yes, the look of approvalfor me was just priceless All
right.
So let's kind of back up herereal quick Approval.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Are you making fun of me?
No, so, yeah, yeah, so yeah.
Next episode upcoming.

all those kinds of things.
John, is there something youwant to share with the class?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
or Paul brought lemonade out of nowhere, and now
I'm jealous.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Home Depot Home.

Speaker 2 (05:14):

So we want you to be a part ofit.
So thank you so much for makingus a part of your life.
Okay, so today we got a great, great episode.
I'm super excited about it.
So one is, we're going to diveinto John a little bit as far as

(05:43):
he plays flag football, andwe're going to kind of hear
about that experience.
So, as you have already learned, john doesn't have the most
knowledge when it comes tosports.
If you've kind of listened herea little bit, I would say I'm
knowledgeable and in what way?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Four.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
So I already know that.
Yeah, that's good.
What's that from?
It's from Phil.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Mickelson.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Okay, so I was surprised to even know a golfer.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah that was really cool.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Haters, get off me.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
And then, guys, you definitely want to stick around
for this.
I tell Paul I'm honestly superexcited.
Paul is kind of a star.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
No, no, don't even say that.
And not just a star with sixangles.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
What?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
I don't know what that means.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
A normal star has five, six, oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
See John you're on another level.
We're just not on your level.
No, astronomical.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I'm still dealing with the bills losing last week,
so we're in a hard time withthis.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yes, so we'll dive into all that.
So please stick around.
We got an amazing, amazingstory of Paul's past life a
little bit, which I'm superexcited to dive in, but all
right.
So, paul, let's talk about this.
Nice, I could hear the hurt inyour voice.
How are you feeling?
What's going on?
Cause just, it wasn't just thispast week, what.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Are you Darth Vader?

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, the bills lost and it was how they lost.
You know, so you have tounderstand.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Paul's, a massive, massive Bill's fan.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
So I was around.
My first game was in 73 that Iwent to at the Bill Stadium to
see OJ play OJ.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Simpson.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
OJ Simpson back of the day.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Come on, I've told you I'm knowledgeable.
There you go.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
And then we went to forestry Super Bowls, which no
other team has done for straightSuper Bowl appearances, and we
lost all four in a row, all four.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Dang y'all suck what.
I'm just kidding, but here'sthe deal.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Here's the deal.
So the first one we werewinning, we were, we were we
could have won.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
So we were running down.
Clock was almost ticking downFourth quarter.
All we had to do was basicallykick a chip shot field goal to
win the game.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Like do you know how far away it was the field goal?
20 something yards.
Okay, 20 something yards, so Imean chip shot extra points.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
That's very short in football, yeah 27 yards, make
max 30.
It was short Sure and we were.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
У0.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
If we had kicked this there was no time left on the
clock the bills would have wontheir first Super Bowl ever in
history, and he missed the kick.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
It went wide right.
Yeah, that's like the famouscall wide right, wide right, so
just now remind yourself to lastweekend.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Josh Allen gets us down in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
He gets us all the way down.
This was just this past weekend.
Gets us all the way down.
He does his job.
The kicker comes out, misses itwide right.
See, that's when you have to,that's when I'm like how could
this happen to the bills?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
See as a coach myself .
I would never allow that playerto step back on any turf.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Well, it wasn't the same player.
That was like a 40, 50 yeardeal.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Scott Norwood was the first.
That was 92, I think it was.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
See, that's the first problem that I was thinking
about was why would you stillkeep the scout on the team?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Tyler Bass, was this kicker?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Tyler Holt, Lauren's boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
So, john, I want to just really quick, just a very
quick set of rabbit shroud.
You realize that a lot ofpeople listening don't know who
these people are, who's peopleare.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
The people you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yeah, you just brought up somebody from church.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
When.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Just now.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Did I ask Okay, anyways, hahaha.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
My gosh.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Okay, anyways, what were you talking about?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Football, football, we were going to talk about flag
football, or we were giving theoverview of the podcast.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
So, paul, had to relive.
Oh, that was agony.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Just a really agony.
I don't even think I couldactually talk to anyone the next
day.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Really, is that serious for you?

Speaker 3 (10:03):
The bills are very serious to me In my entire
family.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
He's like Isaac.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
So, paul, here's an interesting thing.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Or you.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Well, no, I agree, but I've actually implemented.
It's called the two minute rule, yes what's the two minute rule
?
Two minute rule.
So obviously I mean I'm wearinga Ohio State hat.
I'm a huge Ohio State Buckeyesfan.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
We can't tell it's backwards, right.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Buckeyes nation.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Buckeyes nation.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
it says yeah, Buckeyes nation.
Sorry, sorry.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
So, anyways, so the two minute rule.
So what I do is I say, okay,I'm going to give myself two
minutes right after games overand we lose, I can be mad, I can
be upset for two minutes.
And then, after that twominutes is over, I literally say
this out loud to myself.
I say, okay, these are 18 to 22year old kids playing a game

(10:55):
and this should have no directeffect on my life whatsoever.
And so and then I try to calmmyself down so I used to be two
days, okay, so it used to belong.
So I've worked my way down totwo minutes.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
So what you understand my first game was 50
years ago.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
That's.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
And I've been following the bills for 50 years
, I get it they never won aSuper Bowl.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
No, not once they've won a Super Bowl for you.
No in 50 years.
In 50 years, are you kidding?

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, there's a lot of teams that haven't even gone
to Super Bowl yet.
What's still in the NFL?
Every team has not gone toSuper Bowl yet, right, right.
That's but the fact that wehave gone four times, we
couldn't get one of those.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
So, anyways, we bring all that up now is because you
know, obviously we're goingthrough some football grief.
I mean, I know I went throughsome this year with the Buckeyes
.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Good grief.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
But we're going to make this relatable for
everybody, in case you're not afootball fan.
So our friend John here hastaken up flag football and so a
lot of your buddies.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
First, we were shocked to hear that.
Right, yeah, we were like wewere shocked, you know.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
I'm an athlete?
No, we, no.
We know you were, but but Don'tknow why, what just?
Happened there, so okay, so allright.
What made you want to play flagfootball?
Let's start there, isaac, yourbuddy, your best friend, isaac,
one of your best friend.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Isaac knows football really well, but I've played
football for funsies with thehomies a lot before and I'm a
basketball player like bydefault, like you like play
basketball and I know that sportand I'm better, I'm the best at
basketball because that's thesport that I played the most.
But I like football too.
I like running, I like throwingand I I don't know.

(12:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I'm better myself athletic, okay, so, so you play
with your buddies, and sothey're like, I think, my
answers are too long wheneveryou ask me questions.
Cause you are.
Yeah, yeah, I tried to move it.
No, thank you, I appreciatethat.
No, I'm just a mess.
Good point, there you go.
So yeah, no, we got the point, john.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
So I'm telling you All right, brandon, yeah, oh,
that's what it feels like, yeah,no.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
So all right.
So you're playing with yourbuddies, you know, having fun,
just goof around, and then soare they like, hey, we got a
team and we want you to be on it, or how did that work?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
out.
So Isaac was like, dude, weshould join a like football team
.
And I was like, oh, let's do itOkay.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
So you had that.
Then what happened, like at thefirst practice or whatever like
what position.
Were you playing and all that.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
We had.
We just had our practice two orthree weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Okay.
Our first game hasn't evenhappened yet, oh, because of the
snow, by the time this podcastdrops, it will have happened.
Okay.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yes, because of this torrential snowpore, we had
Snowpocalypse and Mount Julia,the snowpocalypse.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Snowbegetting.
Look at that camera owner.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
It's about to die.
You see it's flickering.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
It's kind of spooky.
Anyways, the LED is going todie.
Yeah Right, it's not the camera, right, no?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
no, not the camera.
The camera's plugged in.
Cool, sorry guys, you didn'teven know that.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Anyway, we'll edit that out, keep going.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Maybe we might keep it raw.
However, the we were discussingthis plan to play flag football
and we had our first.
What was the question?
I don't even remember whatwe're, I'm just mumbling to my
favorite part.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
You're the meme of Michael Scott, where sometimes
there's a start, a sentence, andI just don't know where it's
going to go.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Sure and so you know who's Michael Scott.
Yeah, Exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
So all right, so you're playing a practice Right
and then, and so you're playing.
And what position did theyassign you on the team?
Quarterback, bro.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
So they assigned you a quarterback.
So so you Let me explain why Doyou please explain why.
Okay, so y'all may look.
I I I will admit I don't knowmuch about football.
I barely know anything and Idon't keep up with it.
I don't watch games I don'tcare.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Right.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
But when I play it I enjoy it.
I thought I was fast at running, but I'm not as fast as I used
to be.
I'm actually I.
I actually look so stupid whenI run.
Miles said I run like I got astick up my butt and I just like
straight, straight, run with myspine straight and just like,
anyways, we might cut that out,but anyway.
So I tried quarterbacking.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Okay, we had someone else playing Quarterbacking,
yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
We had someone else quarterbacking for the first
part of the practice and then wedid after that.
I was like, let me try.
So I tried, I scored atouchdown dubs.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
You scored a touchdown.
Wait, wait, wait.
So did you throw it or did yourun it?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I threw it Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Like every you threw a touchdown, Every pass was
complete within two downs, wescored.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
I was the.
I was the first game I did whenI quarterbacked.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
I know I've had a good arm, but I just thought I'd
probably be rusty.
So, however, I shook that rustoff and so we went to do the
next possession.
Yes, so okay.
So I don't know how these statswould be said correctly, but
I'd from that score.
I then scored 10 more times, with only one time that I failed

(16:01):
.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
So you threw 10 more touchdowns.
You threw 10 more touchdowns, Ithrew 10 more touchdowns, 10
out of 11.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
10 out of 11.
Correct, I did that with onlyone pass interception from the
other team.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
No, that's when you did the score.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
That's the one I didn't score, but every other
time was first down.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
All the passes were caught except the one.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
That was intercepted by the other team.
I literally threw dimes, sothey're dots, I guess, as
they're called nowadays.
So what?
All right?
So, I mean all right, sothere's some skill there for
sure.
I mean cause, I mean that'simpressive, cause you're going
up against another team right Atthis point, like you're not
playing against air right,you're just.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
We were self practicing.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
So like spring games.
Okay, so your friends were ondefense while you guys were on
offense it was like three orfour on four.
Okay and all right, that's fair, so, okay, so they made you
With an all time QB, with an alltime on both teams.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Oh, oh, oh, that's how we go back and forth.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Yeah, so you're playing for both teams, got it,
and this is just for practice, whatever.
Yeah, all right, so I did goodoh that's really good.
That's really good.
10, yeah, 10 over 11.
That's pretty good.
That's amazing.
Yeah, so it's a greatquarterback rating.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
And you can't run right For touchdowns, you have
to throw it, yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Got it.
I don't think I'm as good atrunning as I used to be Right.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
You gotta stick up your butt you have.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Thank you, so in this , in this league of flag
football, can they rush thequarterback?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I'm curious so defense can't rush the
quarterback?

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Like after a certain time, I know it's like five
seconds or something.
They can come after you.
Standard they can come afteryou, I don't.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I think the rule is they can't, you can't run unless
the they come get you.
You comes after you, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
And they probably have to wait a certain amount of
time.
It's my guess.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Which that happened one time and I ran past them and
scored.
Okay, so you did run fortouchdown.
Oh, you did run for touchdown.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yeah, once Gotcha.
Oh, wow, okay, so that's,that's pretty impressive, john.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Wow, I mean, it's just funny.
We were just laughing becauseyou know, quarterback is one of
the like you have to be one ofthe most knowledgeable when it
comes to football, to play that.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
I mean, I don't know if you agree with that, paul,
but it's like oh, you have to beknowledgeable, yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
I mean, I definitely think I'll be pulling all the
lexies of this world.
Who's calling?
Are you guys actually say itagain?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I think I'll definitely be pulling all the
lexies of this world, butspecifically the one I have and
only her.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Thank you, that's good, follow your reaction.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
So are you calling the plays?
Who's calling the plays?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Because the quarterback.
Nobody calls the plays.
Well, I don't know the plays, Ijust kind of freestyle.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
So, is it free for all.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
So how are you not calling plays?
You're not calling plays.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
My guys will call plays for me because I don't
know plays, and then when I getit, and they're just telling me
to throw the ball here.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
No, they do the hand thing.
They just say I'm going to golike this.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I never understand those.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
I don't know, I don't pay attention.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
So basically you just throw the ball.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yeah, and pray, yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Well, I mean, apparently your prayers are
working, but your prayers areworking yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
But you haven't had a full game yet against an
opposing team.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
No, that's the thing I'm scared of is we're thinking
we're so good right now.
By the way our team name isSpace Monkey Mafia.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
It's just what we came up with, and if you guys
would have seen all thesuggestions that all the homies
came up with, some of us mightbe in jail.
Good for you, guys.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Yeah, the FBI might be on us.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Space Monkey FBI open up.
Yeah, that's true.
Oh, that's, I should have hadthat one.
That's that I have this.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, that works that same thing.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
But, john, that's actually pretty impressive.
I'm impressed, thank you.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
We have to watch you play now the first games on well
spit, the first games onFebruary 4th on a.
Friday at like 6pm If you allwant to come out, yeah there you
go.
Yeah, I might do it.
That'd be fun.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I might get a little nervous because you guys are you
know Well, yeah, we're big timethere you go, Okay.
So we've kind of talkedfootball.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Now to the main event now to the actual, the main
event.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Super Bowl of this episode, all right.
So, ladies and gentlemen, paulis such an awesome guy and, yes,
so handsome, no, so beautiful, all right.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
So you got to stay on your shirt, made you look at
eyes?
Oh wow, this is a podcast.
This is great, so Paul isprobably one of the most humble
people I've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
I've seen him, I've seen him, I've seen him, I've
seen him, I've seen him.
When I said I've seen him, I'veseen him.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
I've seen him as much as you know.
It's not like he got hurt.
Leave is like I've seen him asa little bit Now.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
let's get to our final part.
Paul is you know and it's alsoone of the most humble people
that I've ever met Not like me,as I was over here just gloating
about my quarterback skills, yeah things and he's done a lot

(21:21):
of really cool projects.
And, paul, there is onespecific Project that you are a
part of that I'm excited to andI appreciate you being
vulnerable and letting us talkabout it, because I think that's
really cool, but, john, let meask you a question.
Yeah does this mean anything toyou?
Everywhere you look, everywherethe Mars.
I don't know the words can I goback to you?

(21:44):
Yeah, does that?
Does that mean anything to youwhatsoever?

Speaker 2 (21:49):
No podcast, jokes aside, no, okay.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
So that is the theme song for a show called full
house.
I know full houses, you knowfloss, okay with the, with the
Olsen twins when they're babies, and all that good stuff and
okay anyways.
So, it was the show.
It was a massive, huge hit.
I mean Paul, I mean it was likea world Phenomenon.
Right, it was yeah.
So it was what in the 90s?

(22:13):
Was it late?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
80s, very late 80s, early 90s.
Okay, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
So huge, huge hit.
If anybody has not, theyactually made a reboot of it on
Netflix recently.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
I know our house wasn't it terrible?
What for house the new one.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
It didn't last long, but I think they stayed on.
For what?
Three or four seasons.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yeah, it was long enough.
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
So for anybody listening it was a very family
friendly show about theseFriends that live together and
they had kids and they wouldjust go through life and married
?

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Huh, were they married?

Speaker 1 (22:48):
No, no, these are three, three guys all yeah,
they're all just buddies thatlive together, or did they live
together?

Speaker 2 (22:55):
They live together.
Okay, yeah, and they all hadkids Well the dad.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
The dad did the dad did.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Yeah, just one, but the other two did not right now
Jesse, and they did.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Jesse did later on in the right.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Oh, that's right, he had the twins, the twins was
there any premarital eye contactor hand-holding in this show?

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Oh, yes, no, yeah, you can't do it.
No, that goes against yourreligion.
There's filters.
So this show again, huge, hugehit.
And Mr Paul, so we'll kind oftie in what that means.
The second, but Paul is a very, very, very talented.
Yeah musician and it's so funny, I could just see him.
He's like.

(23:33):
He's like cringy guy.
No.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
I know where he's like.
I don't have a good thing sayokay, great Thanks.
Explain the doctor.
Strange moment where he likeouter bodies and goes into the
thing and then I was like it'sjust gonna sound dumb.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Timing.
That's good.
Hey working on it so.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
I'm talented.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yes, so Paul is super talented when it comes to music
and a lot of other things too.
But so, paul, so talk usthrough.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
So you actually agreed to this, I know Second
guess.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
We are in his home on his mics.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
So.
So Paul grew up.
He was very accomplished, taught music Apparently.
I just learned that which Ididn't know, and so then you
moved out to Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
That's where I was teaching, that's where you're
teaching, okay, so I when Igraduated from college Mm-hmm I
went to I originally went toCalifornia for my master's
degree, mm-hmm, and then I endedup teaching while I was out
there.
Okay, gotcha, and then.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
So being out there in the scene, los Angeles scene,
how?
So again, I'm just letting thecat out of the bag.
Paul Was on the show Full Houseand in the show one of the
characters, uncle Jesse.
He had a band called Jesse andthe Rippers, right.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
That's gonna rip her.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
So Paul was actually a part of that band and actually
traveled and Toured with JohnSamos was the actor and and they
, so we're gonna dive into allthat.
I'm really excited.
That's crazy questions on it.
So alright, so Paul talk.
Take us through how that wholething even started, just like it
.
Was it just some connectionsthat you had made, or how did

(25:19):
that start?

Speaker 3 (25:20):
So when I came to California, when I went to
California, I had a cousin thatalready lived out there, okay,
and his name was Charles and heknew a lot of people.
He was a, he was a director, hedid a lot of things in
Hollywood and stuff like that.
That's what he, that's what hedid.
He, you know he's, he got hisstart on Broadway and then he
moved to California, blah, blah, blah, blah.

(25:42):
So when I first got toCalifornia, my dad was like told
, call my cousin and said you, you, you got to show your cousin
around.
Now, don't forget, we've neverreally met, we never grew up
together.
So I'm pretty sure Charles wasthinking, oh, he's a, he's a
musician.
And you know, I'm sure mycousin was thinking, oh, my gosh
, he could be horrible, right, right.

(26:04):
And I'm sure he did.
I mean, because if my Charlesdidn't know me, really, right.
But my dad called him and forcedhim and, you know, threatened
him to like get me like legitthreatened.
No, like you're gonna do this.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
Charles, I'm sure, is thinking to himself If he's
horrible, this is gonna goreally bad right my very first
gig, I Would lived in Californiafor a week and this is how the
whole this goes into, the fullhouse thing.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Okay, got you.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Very first week I went to California.
We were doing a benefit, abenefit concert at a church.
I don't remember what church itwas.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Mm-hmm and a part of full house no.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
This is when I first got to Nash, I mean when I first
got to Los.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Angeles apartment.
We're not a house yet.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
So it was a.
It was a gig in Hollywood.
It was a benefit gig that mycousin was orchestrating Mm-hmm
and I was a piano player gonnabe the piano player.
We were doing all these likeMotown hits and stuff like that
I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
You play piano.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Okay, but here's the deal.
So on drums was John Stamos.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
No, that's when I met him.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
So he was a drunk.
Now forget, don't forget, fullhouse hadn't started yet, right?

Speaker 1 (27:12):
He was, that is.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
That is a lackey on General Hospital.
Oh, interesting his name onGeneral House was blackie.
There's no racial jokes in thatwhole thing.
This is.
He was his nickname on general.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
We're gonna leave it there, okay, okay, he's.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
That's gonna swim in my mind tonight so I met John at
At that first gig playing drums, and that's what we kind of
like started talking like, hey, what are you?
And I Really kind of knew himand didn't know him.
I was like, are you a truesomebody?
Yeah, I think that I thinkafter that gig, me and John, we
went to Roscoe's chicken andwaffles and hang out a little

(27:51):
bit.
That's fire, that was nothing.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
I mean we.
Yeah, was he a pretty cool guylike so cool, so cool.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
I mean he was so, you know, I mean all the girls
loved him.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Oh, of course had the hair, the whole time.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Yeah, so that you know ended and Shortly
thereafter, I mean, we hadn'ttalked for a while.
Yeah, so this is a poppy.
A year or so has passed.
He now gets the gig at fullhouse.
For house wasn't even it, youknow.
They didn't know how the showwas going to do, and then the
first came out.
So I didn't even know.
So I had moved from where I wasliving to Woodland Hills and I

(28:29):
didn't even know how he actuallycame to, came into play.
I think I saw him around theneighborhood.
I'm like, ok, wait a minute,john, where's going on?
And he lived around the cornerfrom me.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
OK, didn't even know he lived on.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Mulholland Drive.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
And.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
I lived right off of Mulholland Drive and he
literally was walking distancefrom my house.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Oh, that's a problem.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
So we were doing so we kind of reconnected hey, what
are you doing?
I'm doing the show Go for awhile.
So yeah, that's the and Ididn't really hinting the show,
but it was like oh yeah, that'sthe show with the kids and it
goes, yeah.
So, that's how it all started.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
And that's when.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
I kind of reintroduced myself.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
So OK, so you kind of you know, reestablish contact
there, and then so walk methrough kind of what happens,
because you actually did appearon.
Was it just one?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
episode.
No, that was, that was four orfive.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Four or five.
Ok, gotcha, by the way, totalside note.
Do you still get royalties fromthat at?

Speaker 3 (29:22):
all None.
Ok, gotcha no, none at all.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
None at all.
Do you still know, john Stemus?

Speaker 3 (29:28):
You know what?
We kind of we haven't talked inyears, literally years.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah, so yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Gotcha Call him.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, on the podcast.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
The podcast.
There you go.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
That would be a time that would be hilarious.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
But no, no, no, so we had.
He was doing the show and hecomes to me and says oh, you
know what they want to writethis character, that Jesse,
uncle Jesse, is going to start aband on the show.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
And we're going to start doing music on the show.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Once you come on the show and do some music with you,
part of my band.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
I was like no.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
You see, I literally said no.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Really.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
I said you know?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
no, no, that's not me .
Did that mean you had to belike on camera?
On camera, he's in the episodes.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Oh really.
You didn't just play oh yeah, you're on the show.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
I was on the show.
Yeah, visually, visually sothat.
So there was four or five.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
He was handsome.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
He looked really he still does.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
What are you talking about?
Looking right at him, right nowWhatever?

Speaker 3 (30:27):
There was four or five episodes that we did
together on the show.
It was a great band and thisband you know some guys that I
got to meet and got to know andthey're really cool guys now.
Yeah, but we did four or fiveepisodes and, yeah, that's,
that's.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
You do the OK.
So talk, talk to me about, likehow, how was the process of?
Because I mean, like you know,we oh, yeah, yeah, oh yeah.
You should put on the videoportion of that, just just a
little clip.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
If you don't mind, paul, just a picture.
I think you can find a clip ortwo Sure From a company episode,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
But OK, so you're.
You're a musician, you knowyou're kind of doing this thing.
How was that transition?
I'm like, ok, going to atrailer, probably getting makeup
and doing all this stuff, likewhat was that like for you?
Like?

Speaker 3 (31:12):
there were no trailers.
Ok, all of the dressing roomswere in the sound stages, so I
would hang out in John's John'sdressing room.
Got you, that's where I hungout at and all the guys we'd
hang out in the dressing roomuntil we got a chance to get on
stage.
And it was really crazy too, because you know we would have
to do the rehearsals, yeah, andit was in front of a live
audience.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
So when the oh really , when it filmed.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
It was in front of a live audience.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Really so.
Even the rehearsals, therehearsals were no audience.
Ok, gotcha.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
We had to.
So when we did an episode, itwas an entire week Right.
Right so how the episode wouldgo was just the band.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I would actually physically play my parts in a
studio.
Gotcha we record all the parts, all of John's singing, if he
was singing on an episode orwhatever, right?

Speaker 2 (31:54):
John is handsome.
I'm looking at him right now.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Yeah, he is, yeah, he's.
He's here, he's got the hairhe's here you got the hair.
So we would, we would crawl theup, and then we would rehearse,
we would read throughs you know, we do a read through and then
any extras would not have to dothe read, that we would come in
later for the actual rehearsalbecause we didn't have part, we
wouldn't have speaking words.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Right, right.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
And then right after that, then on a Friday night,
we'd tape the show.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Oh, OK, interesting, in front of a live audience, wow
, so OK, so, so.
So you're kind of now, how longhad do you been in Los Angeles
at this point?

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Probably two years, two and a half years at this
point.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
So did you ever have any thoughts like oh man, like
this is, this is my opportunity, like, this is it Like.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
this is my chance.
I didn't want to do it.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
I mean not to not to like be like a movie star or
anything, don't be wrong.
But like you know, oh man, I'mall the connections I'm going to
make from this or whatever it's.
It's just going to blossom intoother things, like did you ever
think that?

Speaker 3 (32:53):
wasn't even thinking about, it, wasn't even thinking
about it.
Because I didn't, I didn'treally I mean it?
Was just I was.
I was doing it because Johnasked me to do it.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Gotcha.
So so he was a buddy.
He was a buddy.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
He was like come on, let's do this.
That I did it.
I mean I had other things thatI was doing, doing outside of
that.
Anyway, I already kind ofworking on some stuff.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
OK, but this was just something on the side, some car
, something to do, gotcha, so OK, so the.
So you do a couple episodes, the show just explodes.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I mean just we were doing these episodes, the show
was had already taken.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
OK, so it already taken off.
It's already worldwide huge andeverything.
Yeah, so OK.
So then you know, you startdoing that and then does, does
John or Jesse and the Rippers?
I guess in this point did theystart putting out singles or
anything like that.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
No, we didn't do anything like that because it
wasn't like it was today whereyou could do a digital single.
Everything was still physical.
So, you know, there was norecord labels involved, but what
we did do is we actually wenton tour.
Oh, people don't realize thatJesse and the Rippers actually
went on a real tour.
You did too, oh, I was withthem yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
So, and it was crazy we would do these tours and we
would have to do them likeduring his hiatus in the show.
So we would do 10 city pockets,10 cities, another 10 cities,
another you know 20 cities orwhatever, and we would do the.
And this is, this is how I knewthe powerful.
I didn't even know because Ireally didn't watch the show.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Right, right.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
I didn't when all those episodes that I was on.
I never watched the episodesReally.
No, I didn't, I never.
I would have watched them threetimes Never watched it.
My mom taped him.
I never watched it Really, butwith the power of the show and I
realized how big the show was,we would actually play stadiums.
Now, if you can imagine theRolling Stones plays stadiums,

(34:45):
the Michael Jackson playsstadiums, when they said Jesse
and the Rippers were coming, hefilled the stadium.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
So they were selling out.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Oh gosh, you would perform in a stadium.
Yeah, that's so cool.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
I mean, that's when I realized okay this full house
thing is insane.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Yeah, it's like pandemonium.
It was like it was crazy.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
It was almost like the way I can related to.
If you go back back back in the60s, early 70s, the Partridge
family was a musical TV show,Right, but David Cassidy was a
real singer who would go on tourwhen the show was not on and he

(35:28):
was doing stadiums, he wasdoing big arenas and that's the
only way I could relate it towas like a David Cassidy.
Were you nervous in front ofall the people?
No, because I was just playingthe piano.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Yeah, he didn't have to talk.
He didn't have to talk.
I think I sang a song.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
That was it.
I think each person in the bandsang a solo.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
Oh really, Do you remember what song you?

Speaker 3 (35:45):
had to sing.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
I totally do, I'm not telling you oh come on.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
I'm not telling you.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Oh, okay, I heard you rap.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
My song was an Ohio player song called Fire.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Oh, interesting.
Okay, that was my song Fire.
No, that's not it, but I'msorry, but is that the
Rollercoaster?
That's the same band.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Same band, right?
This was a song called Fire,Okay gotcha.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
So okay, so that is wild.
So do you have a favoritememory or some kind of cool
thing?

Speaker 2 (36:16):
that happened backstage or even on stage.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Maybe something cool happened.
Any memories?

Speaker 2 (36:21):
from that Iconic moments.
Yeah, iconic moments.
I mean honestly just playing ina stadium in itself is iconic.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Well, iconic moments.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Anything specific.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
You know it's crazy, not really specifically.
I mean, I think the funnesttimes for me were going on tour,
was going to different cities.
And just kind of like you know, meeting people and stuff like
that.
I mean the most, the best partthat I loved about it.
I mean his mom was the sweetestperson in the world.
Oh really, and she would go ontour with us oh cool and I get

(36:52):
to meet his mom and we talkedall the time His mom passed away
.
I guess, so you know, five, six, seven years ago now, but she
was amazing.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
She was so cool.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
I mean, that was my fondest memory and, of course,
the guys would always try to dostuff.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Isn't that interesting that his favorite
memory of all of that was justhaving a real nice connection
yeah.
With a meaningful someone wholistened.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
I'm sure Her mom was absolutely amazing.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
That's cool and you played in a stadium and that's
his favorite memory.
That's cool, yeah, yeah, no,that's cool.
Hey, that mom made an impact onyou.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
She was just really nice, yeah, so that's what I'm
saying Before doing the stadiumtour well, first of all, did you
guys ever travelinternationally?
No, okay, so you used all thestates.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
It was all okay, you know we did state fairs, we did
all that kind of stuff.
Arkansas, we went everywhere.
Yeah, we went everywhere.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Okay, so you're doing that.
So, before doing that, what waslike one of the bigger you know
venues that you had playedbefore jumping into a stadium
tour?

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Yeah, had you done anything?
That was the first thing.
That was the first big thing, the first big thing, and other
things came out of that later onin life.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
But that was the first big.
Did anything later in life bebigger than that?

Speaker 1 (38:12):
There was some bigger thing.
Yeah, maybe we can save thatfor another.
We won't go there.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
But that was a bigger thing no way.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
There was some bigger things.
No, man, that's so cool.
Okay, so you do this.
So how long was this wholeduration of shooting to going on
tour?
How long did all that last Like?
What was the time span of that?

Speaker 3 (38:30):
You figure the show was like a season or two off and
on and then the tour things offand on.
Maybe a total of two yearstotal.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Okay, okay, gotcha.
Two and a half years total, that's a pretty big commitment
yeah yeah, and then, and soduring all this time, you were
still working on, like otherprojects and doing other things.
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
I mean this was so if I would have say things that
came out of this, you know I did, you know I had other you know
things going on and I don't knowif it came directly out of this
position, but I was in aposition to meet a lot of people
.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Yeah, of course.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
And from that came other stuff.
Gotcha, that's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
So how was the okay?
So you know, bringing some likecool redeeming value to this.
So, even though I think it'ssuper cool just to learn this,
what a cool story and what acool experience.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
You taught me.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
No, and I do have to say Paul was very, very
reluctant to do this, just causehe's so humble and he's just,
you know but, I, oh good.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
You know it's crazy.
I have, no, I have no hard timebelieving that that is not the
coolest of things he's done.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, but no, it's so.
I appreciate you sharing itcause I think this is super cool
.
So you we were talking earlierand you were Christian, you know
, you came to really know theLord personally, more towards
middle school, high school orwhatever.
So during this whole time youwere, you know, saved, living

(40:04):
out in LA and all that goodstuff.
So how, how was that?
You know?
Cause I think a lot of peoplejumped to the conclusion or the
thought okay, well, it's LA.
You know, it's probably a lotof compromising and all that
kind of stuff.
What was it like being aChristian, kind of walking
through all this, or yourexperience in that?

Speaker 3 (40:25):
I mean, it was, I was just, I was just doing, I was
just being me.
I mean I didn't really get intoany of that stuff.
I mean I rather I was the guythat kind of stayed in the hotel
room and kind of just chilledwhile the other guys were
partying and doing their stuff.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
And that was fine for them, but that wasn't for me.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
That just wasn't for me, and they always tried to
like I'm sure they did theytried to like set me up in a
whole bunch of different ways, but it never worked.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
That's crazy.
It never worked.
What a real dude.
Never folding, that's, I knowit literally.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
I mean they were.
They were always trying to likeget some girl to knock on my
door and stuff like that.
That's wild and set them up andset me up and they just wanted
to, just wanted to see me, youknow, and Well, I think when we
were talking about it, it's likethey just wanted to get you
right.
They wanted to get me.
It was like got your moment andI was like, yeah, no, Like see,
yeah, you can fold, right yeah.

(41:17):
Yeah, I was like no, this isnot for me.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Well, but you know what that's interesting?
Because that right there, justby not compromising, is a huge
testimony, right.
I mean, like that, you showedthem.
It's like man, this dude reallyis serious about his commitment
to the Lord.
And you know, and while we'reout doing this, and you know,
it's one of those things whereyou know you may have not seen

(41:41):
the fruit of that or whatever, but that's, that's noticed,
right?
I mean that.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
I mean, I mean, I was .
There was no judgment on whatthey were doing or anything.
No, no, no, I'm just giving youprops.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
I just think it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
Well, first that you did that, but then also second,
you know, I think a lot ofpeople focus on the not not
saying you were persecuted inthe sense, but the persecution
as far as like, okay, well, hey, this person's not doing what
we're doing, so we're going togive them a hard time, we're
going to try to get them, but Iprobably had a lot to do with
why they were doing it.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
I think there's just a lot of just wanted to see what
I was going to do.
See my reaction.
Yeah, but I had more probablyresistance before I even left to
go to California.
Because like you know, andbeing in Buffalo just doing the
things that I was doing there.
You know, homer Rick James.
So, you know, being in thestudio with a lot of his people

(42:36):
back in the day, a lot of things, you saw a lot of this And-.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
Another podcast?
Maybe not, and that's a wholeother thing.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
And then when I was in high school, you know my mom.
So I auditioned to be in thisband and I made it.
Okay, I made this band and Iwas in high school and I wasn't
really supposed to go toaudition because I was so young,
but I wanted to go anyway.
I was like I got auditioned forthis band, audition for the
band the band had had.

(43:06):
They were, they had been aroundfor a long, long time but they
just got their first big hit, which I'll tell you in a second.
You'll know what it is Okay.
So they're like hold her.
You tell them, hold her.
I was I think I was 16 when Imade the band 17, something like
that, and so we're going tocome to your house and talk to
your mom.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
And I'm like this is not going to work.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
It's not going to go well.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Like I know all along .

Speaker 3 (43:28):
So the band came over to the house.
My mom could tell you the storybetter than I can, but she you
know.
The band came in, she talks tothem and they're all there and
the band is cool in the gang.
No way.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
Are you serious?

Speaker 3 (43:40):
I made cool in the gang.
Okay, so the song that justcame out with celebration.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
It had just come out.
Are you serious?
Just come out what?
And?

Speaker 1 (43:52):
where we celebrate good times.
Come on, dude, oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
Song had just come out and they had several hits
after celebration that I couldhave been a part of.
I thought that was Earthland, and Fire.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
That was cool in the gang.
No, cool in the gang.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
So we're at the house and they're like hey, well, you
know, we're going to take yourson make the band.
We really want them in the band.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Those people were at your house.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
They came to the house because they had to talk
to my mom.
I said you kid, I'm talking tomy mom.
I'm only 16, 17, 17 years old.
Oh my God, you guys talk to mymom.
My mom was like you're notgoing in this band.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
You're not doing it.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
I probably made the right call.
High insight, she will say shemade the right call, I she keeps
going you would have been adrug addict, you would have been
this, and I'm like I wouldn'thave done any of that.
I don't think you would havebeen a drug addict, I wouldn't
have done any of this stuff.
It's just, oh, you don't knowthat and I'm like, yeah, I do.
But I was trying to talk herinto letting me do this.
She ended up like you cantravel with them.
She was like no, I'm not doingit, you can't do it.

(44:41):
You got to go to high school.
You got to finish.
You got to go to college.
You got to get a degree andthat's it.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Oh really, she made you go to college.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
I wanted to go, but I wanted to go.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
So I have a nine year old son and I'm just trying to
put myself in her shoes of like, imagining my 16 year old son
coming up to me and like one ofthe at that point, one of the
most popular bands in the world.
Like is in my living roomsaying hey, we want your son to
come on tour with us.
I'm just saying I couldcompletely understand what she's

(45:13):
saying.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
She said a big, big no yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Right, so just asking .
Just ask like do you ever likeoh man, that would've been
really cool Like you know thatwould be.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Well, here's the deal .
It would've been very, verycool, because the guy that took
my place, he's not really afriend of mine, but I know him,
we're friends on Facebook andstuff like that.
He's also from Buffalo, okay, yeah, so to see his life.
I can see his life throughFacebook To see what he's doing.
He still travels, the gang.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
Really yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
To this very day.
Okay, so, yeah, so he stuckwith them, for he was the second
runner up.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
Wow, oh, my goodness that is why so I?
Didn't know that.
I never knew that.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
That's interesting.
Yeah, he was the second runnerup.
All that to say.
That's the kind of crazy stuffthat you could actually.
That's why my mom didn't wantme to.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
Man First.
Again, paul, seriously Thankyou for letting us talk about
that Cause.
I just think that's sointeresting.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
You're a well of.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
A legend.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Saying legendary stories.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
This podcast is very long, by the way.
Oh yeah, well, I'm sure Listen.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Ah, we're long.
Okay, but I will say this realquick before we go it was worth
it.
I think that was totally worthit, absolutely.
I mean I know we appreciate yousharing and that is so
interesting and so cool.
So thank you.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
I'm just insane to hear some of the insane things
you've done.

Speaker 1 (46:33):
I know that is super cool.
Well, I didn't do it.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
I didn't do it so cool, yeah, but they tried.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Yeah, they tried.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Hey, you turned down cool in the gang.
I didn't turn it down.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
No, that's what I heard.
My mom turned it down.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
You said I'm too cool for going to the gang I got my
mom on the phone right now.
She'll tell you the whole story.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Colored it up.

Speaker 3 (46:52):
Well, she make me food too.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
I'm super Chitlins.
Can I have Chitlins?

Speaker 3 (46:55):
You don't want Chitlins.
Okay, I don't want Chitlins.
No, you don't want Chitlins.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
By the way, that was not a racist joke.
That was just because me andPaul had a conversation telling
me what those were.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
I was educating him on what Chitlins were.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
He had no idea what they were there, we go.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
And when I told him about it.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Yeah, he wants to try .
No, I don't.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
He doesn't want to try.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
I googled pictures of them and they looked disgusting
.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Yeah, you don't want to try that.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for this.
