What is ‘equitable and inclusive’ scale and what does it look like in practice? When it comes to equity, how can we confront missteps in philanthropy and social change leadership? To tackle this topic, we invited Tulaine Montgomery, co-CEO of New Profit, a venture philanthropy organization that backs breakthrough social entrepreneurs. Over the last 23 years, New Profit has supported almost 100 organizations with a mix of unrestricted capital and strategic support.
In this episode, we talk about the challenges that leaders face in achieving equitable and inclusive scale and what approaches to avoid. Tulaine explains what ‘reputation to revenue gap’ means and also shares key findings from a study that New Profit commissioned on the dynamics at play in the social sector around racial/ ethnic diversity.
