(00:00):
Hey Bubba buddies, welcome back to Mr. Matt's Story Time.
The inspiration for today's Bubba story came from Bubba and
BB. Again, this is Bubba Goes to
Outer Space. It was dark.
Out there, really dark. Bubba looked around and saw
nothing but dark, open space allaround him.

(00:23):
As he looked out his spaceship'sporthole, he thought about what
else could be out there. He saw stars in the distance,
and each star he knew probably had planets orbiting it.
In a kids book on astronomy, he read once he learned about the
Doppler shift, how far somethingwas from him and the transit

(00:44):
method, which told him when a star's brightness seemed to dim
and then get back to normal, that was most likely because a
planet orbiting that star had crossed in between the star and
Bubba. He thought that was really cool,
but there was nothing close by him at the moment, nothing
interesting enough to hold his attention.

(01:05):
Suddenly, something tiny and shiny off in the distance caught
his eye. It didn't look like a star and
since it came out of nowhere, hethought.
Well, what's that? A comet?
An asteroid? A spaceship.
Bubba looked at his radar screen.
Do you know what radar is? Radar is what ships in water,

(01:26):
air, or space used to detect nearby objects and to see if
they're getting closer or movingaway.
What Bubba saw both excited him and scared him a little at the
same time. Something was definitely out
there, and it was moving closer, heading right towards him.
What? Is it Bubba?
BB asked. Flying Cecil.

(01:50):
Bebe had heard stories about UFOs, but had never seen one in
real life. Bubba paused for a second, not
wanting to worry his little sister if he didn't need to.
He wanted to be brave for her. No, probably not.
Don't worry, baby. Bubba replied I'm.
Worried it's a new friend. I am excited.

(02:14):
By then the craft had gotten close enough to tell that yes,
it definitely was another ship. Then it started to turn,
revealing a huge window on the side and visible from Bubba and
Bebe's ship, a friendly looking face, smiling and waving.
Bubba and Bebe both gasped an. Alien Lane.

(02:39):
The intercom on their ship started making a high pitched
noise. Beep.
Beep. They knew their ship could get
messages, and they had from Earth from time to time, so when
they heard an unfamiliar voice, they were even more shocked.
Hello. My name is Bibo Josh.
You can call me Bibo. I'm say.
So who are you? Bubba and Bibi looked at each

(03:01):
other, not knowing what to say. Eventually, Bubba figured there
was really only one thing he could say.
Hi. We're Bubba and Bibi Draff from
planet Earth. I'm 62 and BB is 4.
Where are you from? Nice to meet you, I love meeting

(03:22):
new friends. Do you want to go BB?
Yes. Yes, she did.
Yes. She emphatically answered.
Bubba turn to the intercom againand press the button to speak.
OK, let's go. How do we get there though?

(03:42):
There's no planet nearby that wecan see.
No problem at all. I'll connect to your ship with
my tractor main camel sit there like getting split is that?
OK, yeah, let's go. BB yelled.
The giraffes felt a slight jostle and zoom in an instant
before them was Planet Blue Blork, and wow was that name a

(04:04):
perfect fit. Not only was it blue, it also
looked just. Like a blork.
What's a blork, you ask? Well, if you've never seen a
blork, it very closely resemblesa blimy.
If you've never seen a blimy, then surely you know what a
blibity is. OK, now that that's settled,
back to the story. The ships landed on a patch of

(04:26):
blue ground, which surprised thegiraffes, since on Earth blue
was water and green was land, but on blue blork the opposite
was true. Don't.
Worry we have gravity and on today just blind earth.
Bubba and Bebe got one last message before their spaceship
door opened and Bebo stood waiting.
Bebo wasn't tall. Or short.

(04:47):
He was how Bubba would later describe as medium.
He was greenish blue, a marine if you will, and had big eyes
and a pointy chin. Welcome to meet you Bebo.
Bebe called out as she walked down the ramp first.
Bubba was still a little bit nervous, he made friends easily,

(05:08):
but since this was an alien and he was on another world, he
didn't understand how Bebe couldbe so excited to.
Be young and carefree again. He thought to himself, which was
really silly because he was still only 6 and 11 twelfths.
His birthday was next month. Sorry people, I'm feeling a

(05:29):
little shy. Bubba said.
It's OK, I can help with that. Do you want to feel less
nervous? Bibo asked.
Bubba knew he could leave the planet with Bibi anytime he
wanted, so he felt safe enough to nod his head yes.
Bibo shaped his tail into a heart and blew it up like a
balloon and pointed it right at Bubba.

(05:51):
Strangely and comfortingly, Bubba felt less shy.
Well, maybe it was the sillinessof seeing someone's tail do what
Bipos just did, or maybe it was just because he was growing more
accustomed to being on Planet Blue Blorc, but he felt better.
Cool, how'd you do that? It's my special power.
I can make things come true. Usually it's making pretend

(06:12):
things come to life, like when you play pretend shop or pretend
you eat a treat. And then I can make the shop
real and make the niggling food actually taste good.
Bubba said out loud what he meant to just think.
Wow, I can get used to being here.
You're really cool, Bibo. Thank you.
Hello. I am.
Giving a call. Bibo paused and took what looked

(06:36):
like a phone out of Bubba and Bibi didn't know where.
It looked like Bibo wasn't wearing any clothes, but he must
have been since a pocket appeared and disappeared again
in a flash. I have to.
Go. My mommy wants me to come here.
Take this. Bebo handed Bubba something that

(06:58):
looked like a toaster. Bubba was very confused, but
somehow knew exactly what to do with it.
My friends. Bebo said.
And just like that, he was gone.Bubba and Bebe clip clopped back
up their ramp. Bubba plugged in the toaster
looking thingy, sat down and buckled up and zoomed.
They were back home in Earth's orbit.

(07:20):
Well. That was fun, right?
Bebe do it again. The giraffes look forward to
visiting Bipo again, rememberingthat sometimes it's scary to
make new friends, but it's so much fun.
Meanwhile, Bipo is getting readyfor another adventure.
The end and now my friends was Bubba goes to.

(07:42):
Outer space. And remember, you get to be
exactly who you want to be. We hope you enjoyed the story.
We'll see you next time here on Mr. Matt's Story Time and we'll
read the world together. Bye bye.
Hey, Bubba. Buddies.
Have you ever wondered what sounds giraffes make?

(08:04):
They actually. Aren't silent, they moan.
Snort and hiss Cool, right? You know what else is cool?
A company called Follow. They partner with nonprofit
organizations to. Create bracelets.
