Are you limiting your coaching business potential by focusing too narrowly on client numbers? This episode revolutionizes how coaches should approach financial goal-setting by shifting focus from client acquisition metrics to income-based targets with open-ended achievement paths.

We dive deep into the psychology behind successful financial goal setting, revealing why the most prosperous coaches program their brains to remain receptive to multiple avenues for success. "When you program your brain to be open to any way of making your financial goals happen, you'll be presented with opportunities you never imagined possible," we explain, sharing real-world examples of how this mindset shift creates breakthrough results.

The conversation explores practical tactics for implementing this approach, emphasizing the critical role mentors and communities play in helping coaches recognize opportunities beyond their current awareness. We provide actionable strategies for asking better questions that uncover multiple revenue streams, sharing our personal journey of discovering that teaching other coaches our methodologies offered greater impact and income potential than focusing exclusively on direct client work. By combining mindset adjustments with tactical accountability measures, you'll discover how to create financial outcomes that exceed your initial vision while making the impact you truly desire in your coaching business.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, so how do you?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
set and achieve financial goals for your
coaching business.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Yeah, this is a really great question, so let's
hit it up with tactics, mindsetand accountability, like we
always do here.
So, when it comes to settinggoals, I know one of the things
that we've been talking a lotabout in the Coach Accelerator
is setting a goal based off ofwhat you really want.
And so, especially when itcomes to coaching, like, you
don't want to just set a goalrelated to, like, the number of
clients that you want to help, because you're kind of closing
the door for any opportunitiesoutside of just the direct

(00:26):
clients that you could get,right.
So I like to set a goal relatedto an income goal and then have
a specific date that's assignedto it, and then I start
thinking about what are all theways that I can hit my goal
right.
And the great thing is is thatwhen you program in your brain
like, hey, this is my goal andI'm open to any way of making
that happen, and you starttaking actions towards, maybe,
the way that you think it'sgoing to happen, you'll actually

(00:46):
be presented with so manyopportunities that you had no
idea were going to be present, but because your brain was open
to it.
Right?
I remember coaching a client whowas struggling with this
because they were focused ongetting a certain number of
people in their current program.
But their current program isn'tgoing to get them really to
what they wanted.
And if you're pigeonholingyourself where you can't
actually create that in, thenumbers won't work out to

(01:08):
actually create what you want.
You're kind of keeping yourselfstuck.
So that's the first piece islike understanding that there is
some mindset and tactics behindhow you set those goals, but
really being open to a differentway of getting it done.
Because, like you always say, like the way that you think it's
going to happen is never theway that it happens.
But as long as you're reallyfocused on that vision of where
you want to be, theopportunities will present

(01:28):
themselves.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, I really like that because it really focuses
on keeping an open mind and notletting yourself just go on one
narrow path.
It like really helps you openup and really find other
opportunities, and that willactually create more momentum
because, like you said, it's notgoing to look like how you

(01:49):
planned it, and that's a goodthing, because all these other
opportunities are gonna pop upand you're gonna have the
ability to see those things comeup.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, 100%.
As a coach, you're alreadymaking a difference in the world
, but what if you could takeyour confidence and the results
of your clients to a new height?
If you're looking to fine-tuneyour feedback and guidance for
even more client success, I'mhere to help.

Let's get right back into theshow Now.
Let's get into the tactics andthe accountability, because I
feel like these are kind of likeinterchanged, the tactics being
making sure that you're askingyourself the right questions to

(02:36):
help you identify what youreally want and then making sure
the numbers actually work withwhat you're trying to do right.
So one of the ways we do thisis we not only have mentors and
people who are a few steps aheadof us, but maybe people can ask
us questions to see things thatmaybe we don't even know exist.
Right, because when we thinkabout when we approach our
business, when we approachcoaching and we're going based

(02:57):
off of the things we alreadyknow, we kind of handcuff
ourselves once again if we don'thave whether it's people, a
group, a mentor, somebody a fewsteps ahead to go.
You know what?
Have you considered this?
Because then that really opensthe door for us.
So when I think about, like, the tactics and the
accountability kind of gettingyourself to do it, it's making
sure that you can ask yourselfthe right questions to become
aware of maybe some ways thatyou could make money, that you

(03:19):
could increase your income.
Maybe that's not directlyrelated to what you initially
thought.
So let me give you an example.
I know you know this, but, having been in the space of
coaching people, right, we'vecoached people in so many
different avenues, so manydifferent respects, like
business leadership, executives, people around their health and
fitness, doctors, like all ofthese different people.
Right, if we had never beenopen to taking a step back and

(03:40):
going?
Well, since we've had all ofthis experience for 12 years of
coaching these people andhelping people achieve success
in all of these areas, what ifwe actually started teaching
other coaches how to do this.
And if we had been limited tooh, we've got to get a certain
number of people in our program,we would have never been able
to see that right.
We wouldn't have been able tomake the impact and the income
that we're making right now beable to retire, do all those
great things if we hadn't beenopen to it.

(04:02):
So that's why making sure thatyou have that mindset of like
you know what, there's a way ofachieving this.
As long as I know what I trulywant, I'm going to be able to
figure it out Right.
And then having somebodyobviously we had a lot of
different mentors that we couldreach out to and have
conversations with, and they canshow us some of the past that
maybe we didn't know.
And then, being a part of acommunity, get us show up to
take action and reallyultimately achieve those goals.

(04:23):
So those are the three thingsthat I would say is really
imperative when it comes tocreating the financial goals for
your coaching business andreally making the impact you
truly want.
