I recorded this at 5:30am from my guesthouse in Puerto Viejo town. The animals were going crazy -- no need for an alarm this whole trip. What caught my ear were the variety of birds, and how soothing it was to listen to. At the end of the audio, you hear my host and another guest looking for me so that we can start a hike we planned for.

Realizing you're lost in thought is the true goal of meditation, if there is any. Catching yourself thinking about something is the act that creates options for you in your life -- to remain lost in thought or to become present -- but without the awareness of thought in the first place, you really don't have a choice but to be thrown around by the motions of thought.
