Dr. Arash Akhavan is back and schooling us on skin health! If you missed our first episode with Dr. Akhavan, you should scroll down and check it out, because it was chock full of information from our favorite Dermatologist. So much, that we couldn't fit it all into one episode, and we had to invite him back for part 2.

He is a board certified dermatologist who founded the Dermatology and Laser group in Manhattan and started the product line, Mod Skin NYC, but his biggest claim to fame is being the first returning guest on Mom Brain. Dr. Arash is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award Winner 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. He is also member of the faculty of The Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he is involved in the education of dermatology residents in their cosmetic and medical clinics.

This time around we delved into recent FDA announcements about toxic ingredients in sunscreens you should avoid for you and your kids. Also, skin tips for during and after the summer, the risks of too much product on your face, and dangers of at home DIY skin "repair" kits. Plus, anti-aging procedures, skin rejuvenation, and of course, botox, stretch marks and a ton more! So listen up and take notes.

Dr. Akhavan Recommendations:

Sun Screens: MD Solar Sciences, Blue Lizzard, Color Science

Skin rejuvenation procedures mentioned: Fractional Resurfacing Lasers, Micro-Needling, Chemical Peels, Dermaplaning

For exfoliating pores: Mechanical exfoliation, Vitamin C in products, Clay masks

Favorite Things:

Hilaria: San Diego Sun Hat Company

Daphne: Mott50 Kids Swimwear and Bitty Brah Kids Hats

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
