Peace isn’t always the first thing that comes to mind as we enter the holiday season. And yet, Isaiah 9:6 is the promise that the Prince of Peace is on the way. This Prince—Jesus—is who we celebrate at Christmas. How might you need to receive the gift of peace this season?

• Read Isaiah 9:6-7 and John 14:27-29. How are these words encouraging [or challenging] to you?
• Bring all of your thoughts, feelings, expectations, and wonderings before the Lord in a prayer of praise and/or a request for help.
• After spending some time in prayer, what is one thing you can do differently this year to foster peace in your heart and home? Keep in mind that NOT doing something might be the thing.
