(00:02):
Hey friend, if you have everspent your kids nap time filming
a reel or rewriting the samecaption about six different times
or maybe finally posting itonly to get seven likes in a few
Promote this comments.
You are not alone.
I have totally been there.
I feel like everyone hastotally been there.
And today I want to talk aboutwhy your content might not be converting
(00:25):
even if you're showing up,even if you're following trends,
and even if you're being consistent.
Because moms, we are doing theabsolute most all of the freaking
time.
Usually with a baby or toddleron her hip with dinner that may or
may not be burning.
And you know, kids may or maynot refuse to eat it even if it's
perfectly fine.
(00:46):
And then there's a Google DocOpen and about 17 other tabs in the
background and you deservemore than content that goes nowhere.
You deserve results.
You deserve sales.
You deserve to get your timeback so you can finally read that
book that's been sitting onyour nightstand since spring.
(01:07):
So today we are going to talkabout why Instagram content isn't
working for a lot of smallbusiness owners and mompreneurs and
what kind of content strategyactually leads to sales.
Welcome to mompreneur Masterywhere we build.
Businesses, raise families andskip the hustle.
That doesn't actually help.
I'm Sydnee o', Brien,certified Instagram strategist, mom
(01:29):
of three and your no Fluffguide to making more sales with content.
That'S strategic, simple, andyou can actually make in the small
mom cracks of.
Your day because Instagramshouldn't feel like a full time job
you're not getting paid for.
If you're ready to stopposting just to stay visible and
start sharing content thatactually converts to sales and gets
you clients, you're in theright place.
(01:51):
So in case you haven't heard,Instagram is pretty dynamic.
These codes, content adviceand like strategy advice you would
get a couple years ago or evenlike a year ago is completely different
than what works now.
When I started it was all justpost consistently.
You know, have your contentpillars, post on those and pretty
(02:13):
soon you'll get some clients.
No, it doesn't work that way anymore.
I am very sorry to tell youbecause it was a lot easier.
So number one, if it feelsharder now, that's because it is.
It's not just you.
It's nothing wrong with you.
It's just it takes longer.
In general, we need more touchpoints with leads before they convert
(02:34):
into buyers or clients.
And that is because a lot ofdifferent reasons.
You know, there's been changesto the economy, there's been an overabundance
of marketing and all frontswhere we're just constantly inundated
with ads in marketing, everywhere we look.
So there's a lot of reasonsfor that.
But if you're spending yourvery limited pockets of time filming
(02:57):
trending reels and writingcute captions and wondering why no
one is buying, I really wantyou to know that it's not because
you're doing something wrong.
It's because never.
It's because no one evershowed you how to make the plan that
supports your business, notthe algorithm, not a random trending
sound, your offer, yourpeople, and do it in a way that fits
(03:18):
your life.
We are very much in a day and age.
And, like, I am 110% in thisboat too.
So I don't want this to comeoff as like, I'm speaking down to
anyone who does this, becauseit's like across the freaking board
here.
We want easy, like, answersfor quick wins and quick results.
(03:40):
We do.
So we will hop on thosetrending reels.
You know, we will try thoseplug and play templates trying to
get the results we wantbecause we are super limited on time,
especially moms who are, youknow, usually the primary caregiver
of their kids, who are also, Imean, just, just statistically speaking,
the ones running the majorityof their household, handling doctor's
(04:01):
appointments and, you know, school registration forms and everything
that comes with that.
It is a lot.
So wanting the easy win isnever, ever a bad thing.
I swear, the most things I do,I try to do, like find this balance
of minimum effort, maximum result.
(04:24):
I kind of live my life bythat, to be honest.
I don't want to put in toomuch effort to get a result that
I could have gotten with, like, less time, you know, and that's
how I approach my business.
And that's why I want to teachyou how you can do that as well when
it comes to Instagram, becauseInstagram can be a really powerful
tool for your business becauseyou get to show so much of your personality
(04:47):
and connect to so many people.
But it can also be a huge timesuck because that is just how social
media is, right?
The people that own it want tomake money off of it.
So they show you content thatsucks you in and keeps you doom scrolling
and doom scrolling forever andever and ever.
So they get more money off of ads.
But if you're spending thetime on Instagram, I want you to
be able to get those Resultsas well.
(05:09):
Your time is way too valuableto not do that, honestly.
So I recently had a clienttell me I did not even realize how
much stress I had aroundInstagram content until it was gone.
And that's the thing.
Because when you don't have areal plan, when you're just constantly
guessing and hopping on realtrends and you know, hoping, crossing
(05:30):
your fingers and your toes, that you're gonna get sales, it feels
like a part time job you'renot getting paid for.
And it does end up being a waste.
And I again, no one wants that.
We are not here for that.
You've got bills, you've gotbabies, you've got a brain that is
already in a million places at once.
So let's not add content chaosto that mix.
(05:51):
So instead of hopping onrandom trend reels that some Instagram
influencer with a huge teambehind them is promising is going
to make you go viral or breakyou out of 200 or 300 view real jail.
What if we built a plan aroundwhat you actually sell, what your
specific audience needs tohear, and what actually fits in the
(06:14):
two and a half hours you get aweek where no one is yelling mom
while you're in the bathroom?
Okay, that is what I do in myone to one content strategy intensives.
But even if you never workwith me, I want you to know that
you do not have to do more.
You just need a plan to dowhat works.
Because no one is gonna seeone post and be like, yes, I want
(06:36):
this thing.
All of the research shows thatpeople need more touch points, more
trust, more connection beforethey actually commit to buying something.
So you need to have your offerin mind, okay?
And you need to have thiscontent plan where it initially attracts
the right people who areinterested in your offer.
(06:58):
And then once you have that, you want to start creating conversation
with them and you want tostart creating that connection with
them, and you want to startbuilding your trust with them so
they believe you and yourbrand and your offer are the thing
that will help them.
And then, and only then, should you be inviting them to buy,
not pitching an invitation.
(07:20):
People are so inundated withmarketing all the time.
Hard pitches don't do as well.
And it also just feels sleazy, like those hey girl messages.
No, we're not doing that.
We're all about sales thatfeel good through connection and
trust.
And that is how you do it.
(07:40):
You have to have a contentplan that goes from one step to the
next to guide the right peopleto the right offers and that does
not happen from hopping onrandom trends endlessly without a
plan.
Just hoping this is the onethat gets you some followers or some
likes or maybe a sale.
Unfortunately it just doesn'twork that way.
(08:01):
But I was actually recentlytalking with a client and she was
telling me she had tried it all.
She's been a business ownerfor several years now.
She's tried the plug and playtemplates, she's tried hopping on
all of those, you know, thosereels that are like, use this visual
hook to blow up your views andthe next time you share a reel, use
this trending audio before itblows up all of those things.
(08:22):
She had done them all.
And after one hour together, she had a mapped out plan for the
next six weeks of her content.
Not just Instagram content.
But we talked about how herInstagram would support her blog
and her email marketing as well.
So it sounded like her.
It was messaging that wouldresonate with her specific audience.
(08:42):
Because if you're not talkingto your super specific ideal client,
your words are just going tobe lost in the digital void, which
would really suck.
And she got two new clientswithin a couple weeks.
And this isn't because shesuddenly had more time or found the
right trending reel thatfinally went viral.
It's because she finally had astrategy that led to sales.
(09:04):
I do not want you burning outtrying to make Instagram work because
there are so many other thingsyou could be doing with your time
and I know you know it too.
I want you posting with purpose.
I want you making sales tosupport your family.
And you know that wish listyou have on Amazon.
And I want you to use that.
Save time to go get your nailsdone, go on a solo target run, finally
get, you know, a babysitter soyou can have a date night that you
(09:27):
so desperately deserve, orfinally get that book off of your
TBR and onto your Kindle.
You do so much already.
I want to make sure yourcontent is pulling its way too so
you can do and have even moreso as we lead up to the end of summer.
I know, so sad.
Before like the back to schoolchaos hits.
(09:49):
I'm running one on one contentstrategy intensives where we sit
down, we have a video call, wemap out what your content will look
like for the next six to eightweeks, depending on what we get done
in an hour.
And I send you the plan.
I send you a full plan.
You get the recording, you geta whole bunch of notes and advice
and a guide, and you get yourcontent mapped out in a way that
(10:10):
actually leads to sales.
So you know what to post andwhen and what to talk about in your
post to attract the rightbuyers, to nurture them, to build
the trust to convert them intobuyers and clients.
The link is in the show notes.
It's only $197 and most peoplethat I have worked with said it saves
(10:30):
them about two hours a week on content.
So if you can imagine what youpay yourself per hour, how much money
you will save having saved twohours a week every week on content,
plus making more money fromhaving a plan that actually leads
to sales.
So if that's something you'reinterested in, head to the Show Notes
(10:50):
and grab one of the spots Ihave available for the Content Strategy
Intensive.
And if that's not somethingyou're able to do right now, I still
want you to sit down and thinkabout the messaging for your offer
and think about how you canstart with attracting the people
that would just be perfect forwhatever it is you want to sell.
(11:13):
Think about how you can buildengagement around those topics and
then guide them through therest of that buyer journey where
they're connecting with youand your brand, where you're building
that trust and then invitingthem to join or buy depending on
what it is you're selling.
Your time is too valuable towaste to just be constantly hopping
on trends without a plan.
(11:33):
Make sure you have a marketingplan before you start posting, otherwise
it's just going to be a wasteof your time.
And I know we'd all muchrather spend that time doing something
a little bit more fun thanInstagram or work if that's something
you need help doing.
As always, you can check outmy 5 day plan it post It Profit Challenge
which is also in the Show Notes.
It's a free five day challengewhere you plan a month of content
(11:57):
in five days.
That leads to sales, but it'llgive you a lot more information.
But if you want it done one onone where we work together with a
super specific offer and Ihelp you come up with the post ideas,
definitely check out theContent Strategy Intensive link in
the Show Notes.
As always, thank you so muchfor listening.
(12:18):
