Kwan Hui’s immigration journey began two years after the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was enacted, allowing more immigrants from different countries to enter the United States. Kwan arrived in New York in 1968 after immigrating from Hong Kong for educational opportunities. His decision to go to school and work in the U.S. provided him with the opportunity to buy his dream muscle car, create an abundant garden, and build the Indiana Association of Chinese Americans.
