On today’s episode I speak with Bruce Hampton, Bruce is a product New Iberia High in New Iberia, Louisiana. New Iberia is a class 5A school 20 miles south of Lafayette, LA and 70 miles southwest of Baton Rouge, LA. Along with his football honors in high school Bruce was also an All-Academic State selection during his senior year. After high school Bruce decided to choose the University of at Monroe to continue his playing career, during Bruce’s time at ULM he played in 45 games in which he started 33 of them at Left tackle. Bruce was also a 2nd team All-Sun Belt Selection during his Junior year and he followed that up with 1st team honors during his Senior season. In 2016 Bruce was honored by ULM by being designated as one of the ULM “22 for 22” this highly acclaimed award was bestowed upon Bruce as one of the top players in the history of the program. We have a lot to unpack on this episode as Bruce discusses his setbacks and successes while balancing the life of a student-athlete.
