Thanks for listening.
Now let's go have some fun.
Brad (00:42):
Hello and welcome to the
Mormon Medium Podcast.
I'm Brad and I'm here withNanette the Mormon Medium.
Nannette (00:49):
Hey guys.
I hope you had a good week.
Brad (00:52):
Me too.
Do you know it?
I, it sounds very robotic.
Like I could probably take thatopening and just splice it in
every single week
Nannette (01:00):
You probably could
Brad (01:01):
don't think I change it at
all.
I need to start becoming alittle more original.
Nannette (01:07):
You are original baby.
Brad (01:09):
Yeah.
Nannette (01:10):
Does
Brad (01:10):
that mean I'm old?
Is that what you're saying
Nannette (01:12):
now?
No, I'm always seven years olderthan you, so I can't be saying
that.
Brad (01:16):
That's right.
Talk about og Nan is the OGoriginal, gangster.
Nannette (01:23):
gangsta, spiritual,
gangster,
Brad (01:25):
She's a spiritual
gangster.
I love it.
So today on our Spiritualgangster podcast, we're gonna
talk about, uh, a trip that Nanaand I took to Pennsylvania.
It's, uh, a little bit of aghost story.
Nannette (01:42):
It's a lot, a bit of a
ghost story.
It's a lot, it's a lot
Brad (01:45):
of ghost story.
Nannette (01:46):
And this is a shout
out to Brad's mom.
She asked, um, us to do this, sowe're gonna tell this story.
Brad (01:52):
Yeah.
She had actually brought up, oh,you guys need to talk about that
Pennsylvania trip and the bedand breakfast you stayed in and.
So, uh, here you go, mom.
This one's for you.
Nannette (02:03):
So many of you may not
know, but Brad's job isn't
actually a stripper, although wedo tell everybody he is a
stripper.
But, um, his job actually takeshim, um, to different factories
throughout the United States andCanada.
Um, and he does risk managementfor for this company and goes to
different factories and kind ofhelps with safety and risk
(02:24):
management.
And so, um, During his job, wetraveled to Pennsylvania and
I've, I'd never been toPennsylvania other than during
the Police Unity tour when westopped off, um, in Philadelphia
and in the middle of the night.
And I got to actually sneak in'cause we had police hookups,
got to sneak in and see the, um,declaration of Independence and,
(02:48):
so I got to see the Liberty Belland I actually got to lick it.
Brad (02:52):
I don't know why you would
want to lick the Liberty Bell.
That's the weirdest thing I'veever heard.
Nannette (02:56):
I know it's really
weird.
I know
Brad (02:59):
I licked the Liberty Bell.
Do you know how many millions ofpeople
Nannette (03:01):
Hands of, no, actually
they don't let people touch it.
That's the crazy thing.
They don't let people touch itanymore.
It's all gated off and you can'tgo touch it.
But the police let us touch itand I don't know.
I have this thing about it, likewhen we got married, your ring
wouldn't go on.
And I licked your ring.
Brad (03:19):
Yeah, but that, so I was
like all swollen from the heat.
Nannette (03:21):
I know, but it's like
I claim you when I lick you.
Brad (03:26):
Oh boy.
So many places that could go
Nannette (03:29):
Oh, oh.
Do not even do that.
We're not 14 right now.
Brad (03:34):
Uh, so yeah, apparently
Nan licked the Liberty Bell.
Nannette (03:39):
Bell.
The Liberty Bell, yeah.
But that's the only time I'veever been to Pennsylvania.
So the trip with you, I got tosee a whole new different park
'cause yeah, Philadelphia's acity.
Brad (03:47):
Philadelphia is very
different from the rest of
Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania is a beautifulstate.
It's so green,
Nannette (03:54):
so lush.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, so, so beautiful.
And those dream beautifulhouses.
Oh yeah.
Those are like some of my dreamhouses.
Brad (04:03):
Yeah.
Just the beautiful colonial, just absolute gorgeous
craftsmanship.
Nannette (04:09):
Yes.
And I loved at night thosehouses would have candles in
each window.
Yeah.
Of the house.
And that's always been kind of adream I've always wanted to do.
Even at the farmhouse, I used todo that candles in each one.
So I must have lived in anotherlifetime where I lived there.
'cause that's weird.
Brad (04:23):
Yeah.
You might have to explore that alittle bit,
Nannette (04:26):
Yeah.
A little bit more past liferegression, I guess.
Brad (04:29):
Right?
Well, and, and look, when, Ilearned I was going on this
particular trip, I asked Nann ifshe wanted to go and she's like,
yeah, I, I think I would liketo.
When, uh, I told Nan that one ofthe places I was going to go was
Hershey, Pennsylvania.
She was a little bit
Nannette (04:44):
Chocolate.
Brad (04:45):
Yeah.
She was excited.
She was like, oh, I wanna dothat.
I'm like, yeah, they've got theHershey factory there.
You can go on a tour.
Um, yeah.
And, and she actually did go ona tour, the Hershey
Nannette (04:53):
It was amazing.
Yeah.
Brad (04:56):
Didn't you get to make
your own Hershey
Nannette (04:58):
I got to make my own
bar.
Yeah.
It was not good.
I'm a little too creative.
Brad (05:03):
Nana's not a good C
chocolatier.
Nannette (05:06):
Yeah, the chocolate
was great.
It was just the stuff I added toit.
Not good.
Brad (05:12):
What did you put in it?
Nannette (05:13):
Oh my gosh.
It was like, it was a kind offruit and um, and the nuts.
If I would've just stuck withthe nuts, I would've been fine.
But the fruit didn't taste goodwith it, so I was like, bad
choice.
Brad (05:24):
So
Nannette (05:25):
It
Brad (05:26):
when you're making a
chocolate bar, don't make it
like a fruitcake.
Nannette (05:30):
No, no.
I was being creative though, soI figured why not?
Brad (05:34):
Yeah,
Nannette (05:34):
exactly.
More is better, right?
No, no, just simple.
I love it.
Brad (05:39):
Yeah.
I didn't get to go on the tourbecause I was working, and
that's kind of the thing, likewhen she goes on a work trip,
she sits around a lot.
Well, I go to work unless shegets an Uber and goes somewhere.
So I started finding.
Unique places that we'd be ableto stay, that were near where I
would be working, so I wouldn'thave to travel a long ways to
get to work.
It was really hard the first fewdays because we stayed in a tiny
(06:03):
little town called Mercersburgand
Nannette (06:06):
Sleepy Town,
Brad (06:07):
sleepy town.
Um, There's not much there.
There's a couple of restaurants,a couple of bed and breakfasts.
An old inn, um, a tire shop.
A tattoo shop.
And they the academy.
Yeah.
They have like this MercersburgPrep Academy, which is, you
know, a big prestigiousChristian school.
Um,
Nannette (06:25):
for high school
Brad (06:26):
like a high school prep
school.
It's, it's super cool.
The campus was gorgeous.
We got to go
Nannette (06:30):
Well, and the
cathedral there.
Oh.
Just gorgeous crashcraftsmanship.
Just
Brad (06:34):
gorgeous.
Yeah.
Beautiful area.
But, uh, the place we stayed atwas an old mansion.
it was turned into a bed andbreakfast, and so we stayed
there.
And Nan was like, well, I wantto do some writing so it'll be
perfect.
I can just sit down and justrelax while you're gone and I'll
write.
And uh, so I felt good aboutthat.
(06:54):
I wasn't like, oh my gosh, I, Ihate leaving her there.
She's just going to go crazy.
she had something to do.
So we got to this place late atnight'cause our flights were
late.
We had to drive a little ways toget there and, It was dark.
Dark.
Like there's no streetlights.
Nannette (07:11):
No streetlights.
And there was only like threecars in the parking lot.
So yeah, it,
Brad (07:16):
we were, we were a little
nervous.
We're like, oh my gosh.
Um, hopefully we can get intothis place.
'cause it was, it
Nannette (07:23):
locked up.
It
Brad (07:23):
was locked up.
But they had sent us a code sowe were able to get in through
the back door and then they hadleft.
Key on the front desk,
Nannette (07:33):
and it was a real key,
like who uses a real key
anymore, but this is an old bedand breakfast.
I have like a, a really coollooking key.
Brad (07:41):
Well, and it's just, it's
a giant mansion, like it's kind
of up on a hill a little bit.
And as you look at it, it's gotthese great big columns in the
front and it's
Nannette (07:50):
well, and it's like
four stories.
Yeah.
Brad (07:52):
With a, a giant beautiful
like mahogany staircase that is
a big double staircase that camedown on both sides of the foyer
and it's fancy and beautiful anduh, because it's super rural, it
was fairly inexpensive, whichwas nice.
Nannette (08:08):
So, nice little
creepy, I'm not gonna lie.
Brad (08:12):
Yeah.
As we walked in, we, we pickedup our key and we're like, okay.
They just leave these thingsjust laying down here.
Like all, all right.
So then we had to find our room.
Nannette (08:21):
Yeah.
There was no one around, likeeverything was dark.
we had to kind of explore allthe, the levels and try to find
room five.
That's where we stayed.
Brad (08:30):
Yep.
So we, we walked upstairs and weliterally just wandered around,
um, in the middle of the nightin this old mansion trying to
find our room.
Nannette (08:39):
And we're trying to be
so quiet too because, and we've
got our big bags and we have togo up those staircases and we're
trying to be quiet.
Yeah.
That's hard to do.
Brad (08:46):
Yes.
But eventually we found it in,it was just beautiful.
Right.
Knick-knacks here and there and,and artwork and.
You know, just it, it was abeautiful place.
Nannette (08:57):
Oh, antique furniture
everywhere.
Just everything was gorgeous.
These antique pictures.
And you could, you could see thefamilies that used to live there
and, um, the feeling was crazy.
So the family that lived therein 1917 was the Byron family
and, um, They had a couple ofkids and our room was tucked
(09:19):
back, um, kind of in this littletiny hall.
Kind of weird because some ofthe rooms were really super
nice, but our room was tuckedway back in and we thought,
okay, this is cool'cause we canget some rest.
And I was extremely tired.
I wanted to rest a lot, rest andwork on my book and that kind of
thing.
Just some downtime.
But um, when we opened the doorto our room, and it was all
(09:43):
solid wood.
it had an, an antique bed, aqueen size bed, and you know,
antique lamps and everything wasjust so beautiful, like a damn
comforter and super clean, really teeny tiny bathroom and
an even smaller shower.
Really small, like two of uscouldn't wi fit in the bathroom
at once.
Yeah.
Brad (10:02):
It, we were obviously like
in the, uh, servant's quarters
Nannette (10:05):
Oh, totally, totally.
But it did have a giant, um,closet, like walk-in closet and
had a couple of robes in therefor us and some slippers and
that kinda stuff.
So, but the closet was way nice.
So the room was small, but wecould put our bags and stuff in
the closet and then just shutthe door and we were good.
So, um, classic, broad.
(10:26):
He always has to go to thebathroom when we, when we settle
in.
So
Brad (10:29):
not gonna talk about that.
Oh, yes we are.
No, we're not.
Nannette (10:31):
Yes we are.
Because as soon as we got inthere, Brad had to go into the
bathroom.
So mind you, like, it's,
Brad (10:37):
long drive.
I had to hold it,
Nannette (10:38):
it was a one person
room, so he shuts the door and
my side of the bed was likethree or four feet from the
bathroom door.
Okay.
So I'm, I'm sitting there andall of a sudden I get.
The cold chills, and I couldfeel somebody was in the room
with me and the lights flickerand I'm like, Brad, there's
somebody in this room.
And I can feel like they'rewatching me.
And, um, Classic Brad.
(10:59):
He, he's used to this like,'cause I do this kind of stuff
all the time.
When we go places, he's like, okay, I'll, I'll take care of it
when I get out.
So he comes out and um, he sagesthe room and tries to be really
careful because we don't wanna, you know, set off alarms in the
middle of the night.
That would be so bad.
Brad (11:15):
yeah.
Could you imagine everyonewaking up to the smoke alarm in
the middle of the night?
There a fire?
No, no.
It's just the weirdos in five sstaging their room.
Nannette (11:24):
So Brad Sages the
room, he goes into the closet to
sage and he felt something likegot the filer erection that we
talk about before.
Brad (11:32):
Yeah.
The hair stuck straight up allover my body.
Nannette (11:35):
And it, it's a classic
sign with Brad.
He'll, he'll show me his arm.
You, you know, he is intosomething, but, um, he could
feel something right there.
So he, he saged it, we sent itout the room and um, we went to
bed after that and, and it was,it was a fine night for a couple
hours anyway.
Brad (11:51):
So once we got sage,
everything was done.
We're we're good.
Right?
So we, we lay down in bed, we'rereading, talking, um, and the
closet door just slowly swingsopen.
Nannette (12:03):
And it doesn't just
swing open a few inches.
It swings open like a foot.
Brad (12:07):
I'm like, what the hell?
So I got up out of bed, walkedover to the closet, shut the
door, made sure it was latched, kind of pulled on it a little
bit and went and laid back inthe bed.
Nannette (12:17):
Yes, and then it
happens again.
Brad (12:19):
Yeah.
A few minutes later, the doorjust slowly swings all the way
open and I'm like, what in thehell?
No, this isn't gonna happen allnight long.
Nannette (12:30):
No.
And this is after you saged.
Brad (12:31):
Yeah.
And so.
Finally, I, I got up again.
I'm like, we're gonna try thisone more time, just because the
skeptic in me is like, there'ssomething going on, you know,
the hinges are not on straightand it's, you know, maybe we're
on a slant.
Um, there's gotta be somereason.
It just unlatched.
So I close it again, veryfirmly.
(12:52):
Made sure it was latched, youknow, pulled on the door, made
sure it wasn't opening again.
I was satisfied.
I knew, okay, if something elsehappens,
Nannette (13:02):
there's
Brad (13:03):
paranormal activity,
there's a ghost here, there's
something touching this door andopening it because it should not
open.
It is latched and closed.
Nannette (13:10):
Exactly, and then it
Brad (13:11):
it happened again.
It
Nannette (13:12):
happened again.
I remember you saying to.
Whatever was doing this, youwere like, Hey, we're not here
to mess with you.
We're just here to rest.
Right?
Brad (13:23):
Yep.
And, and I finally said, look,I, I get it.
You want the door open?
We'll leave the door open if youleave us alone.
Yeah.
We'll just peacefully live heretogether for a couple of days
and then we'll leave.
Nannette (13:33):
Right.
So we kept the door open like a,a foot.
Brad (13:36):
It
Nannette (13:37):
It just stayed
Brad (13:37):
It just stayed open.
Um,
Nannette (13:39):
We just kept open and
then we went to sleep.
Brad (13:43):
but it didn't have any
more problems, you know, with
the door after that.
Nannette (13:47):
No, not with the door,
but after we've been asleep a
couple of hours, my back was tothe bathroom.
So mind you, it's just a coupleof feet away.
So my back's to the bathroom andI'm like facing Brad and
something comes and, um, touchesmy shoulder and kinda shakes me
and asks me if I'm awake andthen I turn and there's nothing
(14:07):
there.
And so I'm like thinking, okay,so we left the door open.
It probably was somebody thatused to sleep in there and they,
they're coming in and thinkingI'm someone else.
And, um, really creepy.
But I still went back to sleepand,
Brad (14:25):
and she didn't say a word
to me.
She just,
Nannette (14:27):
I told you the next
morning
Brad (14:28):
Not until the next
morning.
Not at night.
You didn't say anything.
You didn't think about it or doanything about it?
Nannette (14:33):
No, because I think at
this point in time, things were
happening to me all the time.
It kind of was just like, oh, itdidn't feel scary, so I was just
like, huh.
It's, I, I guess it's okay.
Brad (14:43):
So next morning she tells
me and I'm like, what the hell?
And you know, just, I'm checkingwith her to make sure she's
gonna be okay'cause I have toleave, I've gotta go to work.
I don't have time to, to dealwith this stuff.
Right,
Nannette (14:54):
right.
Brad (14:55):
She assured me, yes, I'm
fine.
Don't worry about it.
I'm gonna go downstairs andwrite, so I'm not gonna be in
the room a lot.
I'm like, okay, cool.
So I, you know, got my work bagtook off and was gone for the
day.
Nannette (15:07):
Well, and before you
left you'd shut the bathroom
door and you shut the closetdoor so I could just sleep and
um, yeah, I was going back tosleep and Brad was gone and you
know, you know when you get tothat point of you're not asleep,
but you're not awake and you'reat that in-between stage.
I was there and all of a suddenI smelled that smell of sulfur
(15:30):
like, and at first I was like,Was that me?
Like, did, did I just too, likewhat's going on?
My stomach's okay.
I felt okay.
That couldn't have been me, andI'm like smelling it and it was
just so nasty, so gross.
And I'm just like, it covered mynose with my, my blanket a
little bit.
Tried to go back to sleep andthen all of a sudden I hear
(15:51):
something underneath my pillowand my pillow lifts up.
So my head is lifting up.
I'm like, my eyes are wide open.
I'm like, what the heck ishappening right now?
And then all of a sudden I startto feel, um, something touched
my chest and it runs down mybreast and down my tummy and
down to my hip.
And I sit up and I'm like, ohno, you're not doing this.
(16:14):
Freaked out like something'stotally filling me up, which
isn't the first time.
Brad (16:19):
perverted ghost.
Nannette (16:22):
So yeah, I, I was
like, no, you're not doing this.
And funny thing is, is after Idid that, the smell went away.
The feeling went away, and thenI was able to kind of settle
down, which I don't even knowhow I settled after getting
fault up, but really supercreepy.
Brad (16:37):
Well, and one of the
things we had learned later, we
started finding out more of thehistory of the home.
Is the area where we were at,our room in particular had been
the nanny's room.
Yeah.
And the door where the closetwas, had actually led to the
nursery, so where the, the kidsslept.
(16:59):
And so what we kind of startedthinking was, well, Maybe the,
the spirit that was opening thedoor was, you know, the spirit
of one of these kids checking onthe nanny, you know, I need the
door open.
I don't know.
It was, it
Nannette (17:10):
that's what it felt
like when we talked about it.
It felt like that that's whatwas going
Brad (17:13):
Yeah.
And then the, the perverted oldguy, well, our, our thought
there was maybe the master ofthe house had something going on
with the nanny,
Nannette (17:22):
but when we learned
there was actually, um, uh, A
Civil war cemetery right nextdoor.
So there's this haunted oldhouse that was right next door
Brad (17:33):
Oh, the house.
The house next door looked likemonster house.
Yeah, it was.
It was so terrifying.
Nannette (17:39):
Like literally file a
erection throughout your whole
body looking at this house.
And we had to pass that house toget to the Civil War cemetery.
That was there.
But what we learned is, um, whenwe went to Gettysburg later, is
that when ghosts from, um, theCivil War show up, you smell
sulfur.
(17:59):
So we're thinking that theperson,
Brad (18:01):
well explain why.
Nannette (18:03):
Well, it's because of
their, their muskets that they
would have to load them, andwhen they'd fire them, they'd
smell like sulfur.
Brad (18:09):
Yep.
Because of the gunpowder and,
Nannette (18:11):
gunpowder, yeah.
And so we're thinking that theghost that, that felt me up and
lifted my polo was a civil war,um, soldier.
And that's why I smelled theslur so gay.
I didn't have upset tummy, butso creepy, so creepy.
(18:32):
So in the morning I wentdownstairs and the owners of the
bed and breakfast, um,apparently they did not believe,
in ghosts or anything like that, but I let them know what had
happened and that this place wasreally haunted.
And, the lady's eyes got really, really big and she was like, no,
it's not.
No it's not.
And I'm like, thinking, Youcould, you could tout this place
(18:55):
as a haunted place.
Like, and lots of people wouldcome and stay here'cause it is
haunted.
Brad (18:59):
Oh yeah.
If they, if they advertised itas the haunted mansion, which it
was a haunted mansion.
Yeah.
Um, like I said, not as scary asa house next door.
So the house next door likeboarded up, like it, it
literally looked like somethingout of a horror movie and you
could just feel eyes on you asyou walked past it on the
street.
It was creepy.
Nannette (19:18):
I probably wouldn't
stay in that
Brad (19:19):
No, I wouldn't stay in
that one.
But the haunted mansion that westayed in, yeah, they could tout
that and advertise it as such, and people would come from all
over to stay there.
Nannette (19:26):
It's true, but she was
not having it.
So, and the, the other creepything about the place is after
breakfast, so they, they fedeverybody, all three of us
breakfast in the morning.
And it was a really goodbreakfast.
Really, really good, reallyfancy, you know, chef, the whole
thing.
But after breakfast, they allleft for the day.
So I was in this mansion alone.
Brad (19:47):
Oh, that's right.
It was abandoned pretty muchexcept for you.
Yeah.
Nannette (19:51):
Yeah.
Brad (19:52):
Which seems really weird
that if you're running a place
like that, you would just splitduring the day.
Nannette (19:58):
I think that they
split'cause they know it's
haunted.
Brad (20:01):
They don't want to hear
the, the guests complain about
the ghosts.
Nannette (20:05):
and I was, I was
legitimately.
So creeped out, um, as I walkedaround, you know, and, and I was
finding a place to sit down andbe able to type my book and be
able to get creative and stuff.
And I found a place outside onthis big, beautiful porch with
the great big trees with themoss hanging down and the
cicadas in the trees going off, and, and I'm, I'm settling in
(20:29):
and, um, I even had.
Some guy that doesn't even staythere, he came walking over and
I honestly couldn't tell you ifhe was a ghost or real, but we
talked for just a minute andthen he kept, he kept walking,
but he had to like go behind thehouse to get to even where I
Brad (20:44):
Yeah.
'cause the parking lot wasaround the back.
And where that back patio was,you had to go around the back
into the parking lot to come tothe house.
So that's a weird route forsomeone just walking.
Nannette (20:55):
Exactly.
And that's what I thought.
And he wasn't someone thatstayed there, so I never saw him
again.
But we, we talked for just aminute and he wanted to know
what I was doing and I told himI was writing a book and kind of
a little bit about my backgroundand he was just like, oh, super
interesting.
We'll have a really nice time.
Brad (21:12):
And
Nannette (21:12):
I was, he left and I'm
like, I'm not even for sure if
he's real or not, because therewas literally no one around.
No one.
So
Brad (21:21):
how peaceful,
Nannette (21:22):
it was a peaceful,
easy feeling.
No, it was creepy.
It was creepy.
I got some writing done though,and I, I did sleep a lot while I
was there, so it's good.
Brad (21:32):
Yeah, it was a really cool
experience to, to go there and
to, to stay at a hauntedmansion.
Nannette (21:38):
Well, and then it, it
didn't even stop there.
So this is your second time toHershey and to Gettysburg,
remember?
Yeah.
And um, I remember you tellingme when you went to Gettysburg,
there was a restaurant that youwent to and you actually, with
your human eyes, saw a ghost.
Oh, a
Brad (21:52):
Oh, a hundred percent I
did.
Yep.
Nannette (21:54):
me about that.
Brad (21:55):
So, yeah, the, the
restaurant you're talking about,
it was called the Dobbin House.
And during the, the Civil War,it was actually used as a
hospital.
Um, and so there's a lot ofhistory there.
And then afterwards
Nannette (22:09):
no.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
This restaurant was used as ahospital.
Yeah.
For like Civil War soldiers.
No wonder it's so haunted.
Brad (22:18):
Exactly.
And it's
Nannette (22:20):
the Underground
Railroad.
Brad (22:21):
And it was used with the
Underground Railroad.
Yep.
Nannette (22:24):
Yeah.
'cause I remember when we walkedin, you took me there and when
we walked in, there was an areawhere they had hid the people
for the underground road, andit's such a small area.
I was just, Ugh.
It would've been so scary.
Brad (22:37):
Yeah, Had multiple uses.
There was actually still areaswhere you could see bolt holes
in the walls.
And so it, it was, you know, history right there living among
you.
But I went there because I waslike, this looks like a great
restaurant.
It had good reviews and, Iwanted a good meal.
Right?
Right.
So I went there.
I'm sitting in my little, uh,table all by myself and I'm
(22:57):
watching, and I just see thislady like in.
Colonial garb and carrying atray of something.
I don't know what it wasinitially, I thought it was a
waitress and I'm like, oh,that's cool.
They're all dressed up in, inera, you know, costumes.
But it wasn't'cause itliterally, she just faded.
Nannette (23:17):
You saw her disappear?
Brad (23:19):
Yeah.
Yeah.
It, it was very cool.
I was like, whoa.
All right.
And then I just kind of keptwatching and, you know, looking
up in that area, I didn't seeanything else.
I didn't feel anything.
It didn't feel creepy at all.
Um, I just was like, oh, justsomeone passing through
Nannette (23:36):
That's amazing.
Brad (23:37):
job.
Nannette (23:37):
That's amazing.
And that's, that's why you tookme there.
Brad (23:40):
Yep.
Yep.
And we didn't see anything whenwe were
Nannette (23:43):
No, no, the food was
really good though.
But we went to that place.
Um, was that before or afterGettysburg?
Brad (23:51):
That was before we went
there into the town and then we
drove out through thebattlefields.
Nannette (23:56):
Yeah.
And if you've never been toGettysburg and experienced, that
battlefield, I highly recommend.
It's very somber.
It's the energy's very heavy.
Brad (24:06):
is a really good word for
it.
It is.
Nannette (24:09):
Um, you could feel, if
you close your eyes and you just
really feel into it, you canfeel.
The fear and the sadness and thehorror and everything all at
once.
And it just, I remember doingthat and just sobbing, just
absolutely sobbing.
Brad (24:25):
It's very overwhelming.
Nannette (24:26):
Yes.
Well, and previous to the CivilWar, um, there, there was the
American Indian War there aswell, and so a lot of Native
Americans were killed there onthat same ground.
So that ground is, is hollowed,um, and extremely heavy.
Very, very
Brad (24:43):
Yeah.
It was, um, uh, overall reallyamazing trip.
Nannette (24:48):
Yes.
Brad (24:48):
Just filled with emotions
and history and lots of feelings
and, you know, experiences thatjust came across the veil to us.
Nannette (24:59):
Yeah.
Brad (25:00):
Such a
Nannette (25:00):
a unforgettable
experience and such a beautiful
area of our country.
Um, so highly recommend if yougo and if you wanna stay in a
haunted bed and breakfast.
Brad (25:10):
Yeah, we, we can give you
the name.
I, you know, it's weird.
Does, does shit like this happento other people?
Or is this unique to us?
Nannette (25:16):
reach out and tell us
if shit like this happens to you
too.
Brad (25:19):
Right?
Like seriously, is it, I mean, weird shit happens to us and I
don't know if it's just us or isit's a, you know, something
about us that's attractingghosts, like a moth to a flame.
Nannette (25:32):
Oh, I think definitely
because we're both, um, pretty
gifted.
I think that things happen tous, but I think other people are
gifted as well, and probably wearen't the only one.
Brad (25:43):
Yeah.
I'm sure there's other
Nannette (25:44):
people there
Brad (25:44):
there who all of this same
stuff is happening to, I can't
imagine it not.
Nannette (25:48):
we need to go to some
more haunted places this year.
Brad (25:51):
I think we should.
I, if you guys know of someplacethat's crazy haunted and you've
had experiences there, let usknow.
'cause we would love to travelto some of these places and
spend some time there and seewhat we can learn.
Nannette (26:03):
we could take our
podcast to these haunted places
and let you know what goes on,and maybe take some of you if,
let us know if you'd beinterested on going on a
paranormal tour with ussomewhere in the country.
I'm thinking New Orleans wouldbe really fun too.
I'm drawn there.
Brad (26:18):
Lot of history in New
Orleans, a
Nannette (26:19):
a lot of history, and
so much with vampires.
Brad (26:23):
I mean that's where, uh,
all Voodoo,
Nannette (26:26):
that's where our dog
got her name is Voodoo.
Brad (26:28):
Yep.
It's where all the Anne Ricenovels are, are written, so
Nannette (26:32):
That's so true.
Right.
With
Brad (26:33):
with the Vampire.
Nannette (26:34):
It would be so cool to
actually go through some of the
plantations there and see whatwe feel,
Brad (26:39):
which vampire was sexier.
Brad Pitt.
Or Tom Cruise.
Nannette (26:43):
Brad Pitt every time.
I know.
He's your, he's your,
Brad (26:47):
he's my hall pass.
Nannette (26:48):
your hawk.
Oh my gosh.
So what you're saying is you aregay?
Brad (26:57):
I don't know, maybe for
Brad Pitt.
Nannette (26:59):
Yeah, he would give it
up for Brad Pitt.
Brad (27:00):
might, yeah.
Nannette (27:03):
I think anyone would
give it up for Brad Pitt.
Brad (27:05):
He's just so timeless.
Nannette (27:08):
It's true, but as he's
aging, he looks just like Robert
Redford.
I swear.
I
Brad (27:12):
he's a better version
though.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I agree with you though.
He's kind of like, he, I, he'sprobably an illegitimate son of
Robert Redford.
They look so much alike.
Nannette (27:22):
They do look a lot
alike.
Brad (27:23):
You could really see it
in, uh, a river runs through it
where they were in the showtogether.
Yeah.
Remember?
Nannette (27:29):
yeah.
It's true.
Very true.
Brad (27:32):
Wow.
We just went off on a tangentthere.
Nannette (27:34):
do you wanna, do you
wanna grab some cards?
Brad (27:38):
Sure.
Here
Nannette (27:39):
Okay, everybody has
been asking us to draw cards.
Brad, like, started a thing sowe drew from the shamanic deck,
actually Brad did.
And the shamanic deck, it has anessence of the card and then it
has an invitation if it'supright or medicine, if it's
upside down and it's upright.
So, um, read the essence and
Brad (28:00):
go, oh,
Nannette (28:00):
Oh, So the card is
lightning.
So the formidable electricaldischarge of a lightning bolt
brightens the sky and strikesthe earth accompanied by a
mighty sound of thunder.
This phenomena has a positiveaspect.
The light illuminates the earthand the psyche, but there is a
destructive side as well.
The bolt can burn and even kill,It's too strong.
(28:23):
So the invitation, because it'supright, is the forces of the
upper world are investing theirgathered energy to ignite you
with a new inspiration andcreativity.
Allow this divine gift ofawakening to take root in your
being and enjoy a renewed senseof clarity, passion, and vision.
Brad (28:40):
Cool, I like that one.
Nannette (28:43):
So sum it up for the
week, Brad.
Brad (28:44):
Renewed energy, passion,
and vision.
I think that's it right there.
That
Nannette (28:49):
That means you're all
gonna have a great week.
Brad (28:50):
Yep.
Just look at it with new eyes.
Slow down, enjoy what's aroundyou, and don't be so focused on
the end goal that you forget howamazing the journey is.
Nannette (29:02):
The journey can be
beautiful, right?
Brad (29:03):
and it should be.
