tremendous and I think it all works. Now the Morning

(03:09):
Can we say who that's a product of.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
I think I don't know who it's a product of,
but I think it's a product that's gonna move Luke Okay,

Hey, guys, yeah, nice, you didn't get there. I thought

Good Labor Day weekend. I was sick all weekend. I
had a pretty crappy weekend.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
I'm not gonna lie, but we're back Tuesday Contender Series tonight,
so you know I'm hip.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Let's go. Did your girlfriend make you chicken noodle soup?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (04:28):
No, I had to make it for her because she
was sick before me.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I mean for her, yeah pretty much. Yeah, you know what.
That's a good reason why you keep away from her
so often.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Then there you go.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Check out the main card minuted podcast for Luke Nocita's
Live Dana White Contender Series US tonight.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, tonight, Yes, LT.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
How you feeling about life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.
We're less than two weeks out from a little fight
called Canelo Crawford.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Yeah, I mean, I think in general things are okay.
You know, it's listen, the quietness of summer. It feels
like that's that's now, that's what we have to do
today's show. But like after today's show, it feels like
the quietness of summer is going to be behind us.
Officially September, even though there's no UFC event of a
numbered UFC event in September, it's actually a pretty busy
(05:18):
month with three fight nights. I think three on the
road is if I'm not mistaken, Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Then weekend then we got no Cha the following one.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
That's right, and then Canela Crawford as well. So despite
there not being a UFC pay p review this month,
it's surprisingly kind of busy. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, And we'll be back, of course, when they do
restart the pay per views with UFC three twenty. We'll
be hitting your hard Quervo style with a little pregame
priggiddy preview folks. All right, but that's neither here nor there.
A quick offer for you to like and subscribe. What's
going to happen during this show. It does support us,
it does go a long way. Also, shout out to
(05:52):
everybody watching on the DraftKings Network audio OnlyFans. We hear
you too, and check out our extensive YouTube channel offerings
as well, all under the MK umbrella Rihanna style, just
giving it to you, right, you know what I mean? Yeah?
All right that. Yeah, it got weird. It got weird,
but you know, we'll get through it.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
I don't even understand that comment.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I mean neither do I really? Right? I mean maybe deep.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Inside I do so to say, let me turn the tables.
Did you have a good weekend?
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yes, yes, very, very laid back, very you know, it
was very prepapatory weekend, Luke, if I can add that
word to the language, because today are my kids the
start of their senior year across country. So today's a
big day.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
We are uh a top ten team in the state
and one of the favorites for the state titles. So
let's go. Okay, let's go.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
How many kids in your your children's graduating class.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
It's a middle size school for Connecticut, so by comparison
where I graduated with three thirty. I think they're like
in the one to twenty area at this school.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
It's pretty small.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
One maybe at most. Yeah, all right, very good, whoomp there?
Speaker 1 (06:59):
It is?
Speaker 3 (06:59):
All right, let's hit you with topic number one. As
we look back at the weekend, that was, Hey, love
it or hate it? What they got going on over
there at Misfits Boxing. It certainly disrupts, gets our attention
and features names we know very well. Darren Till improving two,
three and zero in his newfound boxing career, maybe more
(07:19):
importantly as a huge favorite sending Luke rock Hold to
hell in this bridgerweight main event at Miffits twenty two
and Manchester, England over there on his own. It was
a vicious third round knockout in which rock Hold appeared
to be briefly knocked out cold, he was dropped by
the same punch earlier in the fight and really beat
(07:40):
up for the totality of the three rounds. Now is
Darren Hill, still in his early thirties, still in his
physical prime, despite losing six of his last seven UFC
fights to exit that promotion? Is this win, this performance
and the brief boxing resume that Till has put together,
Luke Tom, it's good enough to start banging that drum
(08:04):
for a Jake Paul fight? Or possibly is there a
scenario where the six foot one, one hundred and eighty
five pound till is actually looking too good for a
Jake Paul fight? After this ko of rock Hole.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I have to tell you, I think it might be
the ladder. I honestly think it might be the ladder.
I mean, okay, so let's talk about this fight on
Saturday again. We know we're not talking about you know,
this is not Islam versus Ilia, but but it did happen,
and there's actually something I think kind of noteworthy about it.
PC two things we've talked about this many times, whether
it's misfits or more BKFC or something outside of at
(08:41):
least the MMA bubble. There are fighters with names who
have very up and down performances, often in UFC, sometimes
more broadly in MMA, and they get out of some
kind of dominant promotion. Again this is typical of the
UFC experience. Well, they'll go to BKFC, and in this
particular case, they'll go to Misfits and after a little
bit of time and some win is being put together BC,
they can do a lot to rehabilitate their name. I
(09:03):
think you have to add Darren Till to that list.
His last loss in combat sports was in twenty twenty
two to drick As dupless. I don't think he fought
at all in twenty twenty three. He did get a
win in twenty twenty four. Yeah, he gotta win in
twenty twenty four, and then Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart
in twenty twenty five, and so this is now his
third one. So he's had a huge, huge comeback yere.
(09:25):
But you know, in that moment BC in twenty twenty
two where he's losing and then he's gone for a
year and then he comes back against you know guys,
you just don't really know who they are. And even
now there's obviously they only really took people by storm
in this last particular fight. I'm just trying to point
out he has put together enough of a what do
you want to call it? Return campaign that people I
(09:46):
think are right to ask, Hey, what are some interesting
matchups with relevant names we can put this guy in.
Maybe that's in the UFC, maybe it's not, but that's
the kind of place he's in now to answer the
question more broadly, this this is why I think he
might be too good for Jake Paul. I mean Jake Paul.
I'm not saying Jake Paul can't or wouldn't beat him,
or even wouldn't be favored to beat him. But Till,
(10:09):
I don't know, he seems like a real threat. You
pointed it out thirty two years of age, dude, he
smoked Luke Rockhole. This was really never close at all.
We'll talk about Luke rock Hold in the second because
we do have to weigh with the value of that
win is relative to his name versus his ability at
age forty forty one. But Darren Till dude was methodical.
I saw someone on Twitter. Do you know Smoogie on Twitter?
(10:30):
Smog Y Smoogie. Yes, he put out a comment, and
I think he's absolutely right. That's the best boxing combination
any MMA fighter who has done boxing has ever had
in like this kind of you know, different world like
You've never seen one perform quite this ably so to me,
because of his size, because of his UFC experience, because
(10:51):
I do think he's really putting together something of a
bit of a noteworthy run on the outskirts of MMA,
as you indicated, and again this is boxing, I understand,
but like you know that that world anyway, BC, I
think Jake Paul is going to be looking for either
bigger names or easier opponents, not Darren Hill. And I
would actually kind of like to see Jake Paul versus
(11:13):
Darren Till.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I'd love to see. I don't know if it's possible,
I assume their rivals in this space, but I'd love
to see a Misfits MVP CO promotion where they really
play this off as potentially the number one influencer boxer
against the number two. I mean, I think Darren Till
looks that good. And when we mentioned his three to
zero turn into boxing, he also had an exhibition knockout
when last year, So in totality that's four boxing appearances,
(11:37):
three knockouts. Yes, like Jake Paul's start to his boxing career,
it's a varied you know, size experience level that he's
going against. But our eyes tell us one thing. As
you mentioned, physical Prime roughly the same size as Jake
and can put punches together, has at least a remedial
knowledge of head movement, which was something rock Hold did
(12:00):
not have in this fight and easily became his undoing.
I mean, look, when I saw twenty to one odds
that rock Hold was gonna you know that it was
Till a favorite over him. I'm like, come on, rock
Hold's got a pulse. Yeah, he's probably gonna lose here,
but you're making it seem like it's going to be
extreme one way traffic. Oh, it completely was. I mean,
do we I gotta ask you, do we take anything
away from this victory because of the way rock Hold
(12:23):
succumbed to really the first clean punches that he was
met with.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yes, yes, we have to weigh this victory appropriately. He
did not beat somebody who gave him, you know, genuine resistance.
Luke Rocold still got a big name and he physically
looks the part quite clearly, but you know, he's been
battered over the course of his career. I tried to
explain to people in my life chat dude, he was
(12:48):
a champion in Strikeforce. It's twenty twenty five. For crying
out loud, like, what are we even talking about here?
And so, yes, the resistance was not significant. However, we
see the ease with which it came. You know, the
readiness for it all, Like the part of leaning into
the promotion. He seems like he's he's ready for a
bigger challenge. I think that's the point to me, Like, Okay,
(13:10):
clearly you have to give him somebody who's trying and
has the ability to do it out there. Ruckle's not
that guy.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Till maybe the most if Jake Paul is still the
power for pound best of the crossover influencer boxers. So
we're talking about people like KSI, we're talking about all
the retired MMA fighters that have crossed over. I think
Till might be the most explosive offensively, the way that
he puts together his combinations, the accuracy and power of
his overhand left Does he rely heavily on that left hand, Yeah,
(13:39):
of course, but it is set up by at least
a jab that has some type of pop on it.
We don't normally get that right at this level. Of
these crossover guys, even Mike Perry, who's great in BKFC,
and to the point you made about Till, has also
completely restored and resurrected his name. You know, when he
boxed against Jake Paul, even though the size gap was
pretty large, just no you know, basic understanding. It seemed
(14:03):
despite having a pro fight in his uh in his past,
of the combination of had movement defense relying on the jab,
Till seems to have more than most. I mean, look,
the best way to try to figure out if he
really would be a live body and a problem for
Jake Paul, I think is look at how would he
do against the one man that did beat Jake Paul
straight up by split decision, and that's Tommy Fury, who
(14:24):
relied on his size, relied a lot on a style
which was jab jab hold, and got up off the
canvas in the final round. But he also got the win.
What do you think a Tommy Fury Darren Till fight
would look like right now?
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Well, they were supposed to have had to fight and
got canceled. I might. I mean, I guess I'm my
favorite Till. I don't know what Fury's been up to.
I mean, at a bare minimum, this is this is
relevant matchmaking.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
This is I'm sorry, Fury doesn't want it. He turned
down Jake money for a rematch. He doesn't want it anymore.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yeah, interesting, I mean, but this is this is my point.
This is this is where the relevant matchmaking is like
I was thinking about this BC. You know, now Till
is different, right because he's thirty two, So I know
we're talking about Till, but I was just thinking about
this misfit misfits world and like, you know, we'll talk
about Tony in a minute. And I was thinking to myself, like,
why did this not work for Bellator? Remember Belaitor used
(15:23):
to just have old guys out all the time, And
in part it's because, like you know, the oftentimes they
were facing each other and it you know, with Tito
versus Jail or Chail versus Fad or you know, and
it's just like the bottom drops out on two old
guys going after it. Whereas with this like Influencer World,
Yes you've got an older name in rock Hold, but
(15:44):
it was a serviceable use of him this time given
the rule set. And then obviously in the Tony fight,
you know you've got these This new world is when
you pump in these guys and you start asking questions
like about Darren Tail versus you know, Tommy Fury. This
is a relevant way to match these dudes now, And
it didn't really used to be. This wasn't a thing
you could ever count on and now it's a real
space and that actually kind of makes sense for all the
(16:06):
parties involved. And that's honestly, given what's around, that's not
a bad place to be.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
And look, as we're talking about whether a Till versus
Jake Paul fight could happen, I have to say this
about misfits, Luke. When they arrived, you know, I don't
want anything to do with them. I remember thinking, why
is Cali Soerland involved if he's a quote unquote legitimate
boxing promoter with a long history. But what him and
Mams Taylor has done is get everyone's attention by doing
what by doing what the Jake Paul fights have not
(16:32):
been able to do the Jake Paul fights. When we
expect celebrities to be fighting, we know the skills aren't
going to be at a elite level, but we want
to see, like closure, We want to see a war,
and we want to see a true winner. I think Jake,
maybe to his detriment, learned, you know, became pretty proficient
early enough, had such a size and age advantage on
all of his opponents that it became more of a
(16:53):
jab fest and it was more about can Jake stamina,
hold together to get the win. I think on misfits
they are giving you misfit boxers, meaning people without the
proper background, but they're close enough to their physical prime
and they go out there and they bang, and you
find out who's the better man more often than not,
so that they in some ways misfits with Darren Till
(17:16):
quickly becoming one of their lead cards to play is
kind of becoming everything Jake and MVP never did. Jake
has been able to sustain this by his name, his
ability to win these fights, and the fact that he
keeps teasing an eventual move to real boxing. But to
close out the argument that we started this segment with,
I'm not sure if Jake looks at this, sees the
(17:38):
danger that's there and really would want a Darrentil fight,
because it's either it's all or nothing for me. Either
Jake's going to eventually cash himself out against an Anthony
Joshua or for a Cruiserwey title, or he's going to
take opponents that actually have a chance to beat him
like he did with Tommy Fury and oh, by the way,
he lost that fight. It doesn't seem to be much
(17:59):
of it in between anymore because he's out of those
in between names. So looke, if it comes down to
do you take a fight against Till, that would probably
get a ton of attention, but wouldn't bring in the
type of money it would if you were getting a
real title fight or a Canelo or an Anthony Joshua.
I could believe, without having Jake right here to answer
for himself, that maybe he wouldn't look at Tills as
(18:20):
a perfect option, even though from an entertainment standpoint, this
might be a real fifty to fifty fight and Jake
doesn't often do that.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Yeah, And also, I mean the one part we're discussing
you hinted at, but that we should underscore just a
little bit more. Till is maybe a tough fight. Again,
there's some debate about that, but certainly you would think
better than some other ones, better than Mike Perry, for example,
But Mike Perry is Like I was thinking about this,
who's a bigger star Mike Perry or Darren Till? And again,
(18:50):
partly that's a dependent on how you answer on the market,
but like the North American market, probably Mike Perry. But
it's you know, it's not a huge difference, but Mike
was a lot easier to beat. The point I'm trying
to make is Till, also, I think again, has rebuilt
his name very significantly since twenty twenty two. But at
the same time, he's not so big a star that
this is an open and shut case, right you see, Like, yeah,
(19:12):
you know, they look at the names he's fighting again,
just the names, not the person, but they're in But
the names Diaz, Silva, Tyson, now Gervante, these are massive names.
Darren Till is both a tough fight for him, we think,
and as much as he's done to rebuild himself, not
even close to some of these other names yet. So like, yeah,
(19:33):
I actually don't I think he'd be a great candidate
for a fight, but I think he's a bad candidate
for a Jake Paul event, And those are two different things. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Well, look, there was no talk about Jake Paul after
this fight because Till seemed to have a perfect plan
in place, and that was going after the legend the Cobra,
Carl Frotch once feuding with like Savaria Howani. Now, of course,
it seems like because for a while Frost was going
after Jake Paul but it didn't come together. That fraud
in his forties. The Hall of Famer Steel feels like
(20:02):
he's got one left. So Luke, this is a very
interesting fight to think about. We do have footage here
of Dylan there until literally going after Carl Frotch.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Let's look at this, dude, did you see that this
person there going ah at the end? Did you see
(20:34):
that by this I here see that.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Now look Froch's forty eight, so the window is closing.
But Luke, this would be a in my opinion, you know,
when you're talking about a frontier guy who did, by
the way, Phil eighty thousand in Wimblo Stadium for his
famous rematch with George Groves, I kind of feel like
this would do big business. The trash talking would be wild.
This is sort of the perfect old guy who's got
more experience and still might have enough against younger guy
(21:00):
at the HUDs Pull's coming on. Do you think that
misfits can get Froch out of the away from the couch? Now,
he's in incredible shape. He stayed in incredible shape. But
is this a makeable, doable fight in your eyes?
Speaker 1 (21:12):
I hope, because I think this is the right one
to make this is this is a much better pair
in Carl Frotsch, by the way, often an antagonist of
Jake Paul. What does he call him, Fake Paul? I
think that's the name he gave him. You know that
Froch is like the right in between, because he I think,
still wants to pay day. He still wants to be seen.
This is a guy, you know. And by the way,
(21:33):
you can make it like an all UK affair as well,
and boxing is still quite hot as a normal sport
in the UK. Like, dude, there's a lot you could
do with this matchup. I actually think this matchup is
the is the is the exact right one to make now. Again,
whether or not anyone who's watching now or especially from
the UK, has a particular appetite for it, is a
(21:54):
different question. But I'm just saying, if I'm Misfits and
I'm trying to make this, I think Frotch is affordable.
Untill is certainly affordable, and that's the right exact pairing
in terms of a fight to get something, you know,
discernible and meaningful out of it.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Well, let's hear from the corpor to find out whether
he believes this is a fight that should happen.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
Then he started talking gob shot down the mic. I
was already out of the building. I didn't do it, Runner,
I wasn't scared for those haters are going to go
into comments and say I shipped myself and run off.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
I didn't. I couldn't be asked with a bullshit.
Speaker 7 (22:24):
But I'm sitting here now, one of the one of
the chief guys at the Zone. It's a very respected
broadcaster for proper boxing, but he also do the Misfits.
And are you saying, actually, this fight would like genuinely
have some interest and some value.
Speaker 8 (22:39):
I think you probably know it does. I think we
only have to look at the audience. You generate the audience.
Darren generates the audience that we saw tonight for the event.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
Let's talk about it.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
You know, That's what I was going to say. So
I suppose we're going to sit down and maybe have
any where we've got to, But maybe we will sit
down and have a chat. Maybe I'll up it from
level four to level out of ten in the gym,
see how I feel. Maybe before a few punches in
the spiral ring, get the old face mask on, protect
the utter and how I feel.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
But yeah, it's got me thinking on the line.
Speaker 8 (23:10):
It's down to you, isn't it. As you say, you've
been out the ring for eleven years, do you want
to go through the proper intensity of a training camp,
which you'll have to do because you have a lot
of personal pride.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
You don't want to get in there looking out of shape.
I need another I need to a three weeks.
Speaker 7 (23:22):
Yeah, I'm already in shape.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
I'm fit.
Speaker 7 (23:25):
I do do quite a lot of cardia in terms
of bag work and the step machine. I don't do
much running, but I get macadia and I'm in the
gym lifting weights and I punched the bag. But I'm
not sparring. I'm not sparring, so I would have to
start sparring.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
So, dude, it sounds like he could be lured for
the right amount of money. And it does sound like
even though obviously if he was in his prime, this
wouldn't even be a topic. But the dude's forty eight,
you might be able to get a really contentious competitive
fight out of this.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
I think this is this is the one, dude, This
is the one. And sometimes these, like all UK matchups,
they take on our I don't know, am I wrong BC?
Like for example, okay, well, I mean Ben Ubank is
different because they're both the children of Ben and the
U Bank who fought, so that gets a little bit
but like as a fight on its own, as if
if you match them up. I don't know what it
(24:14):
does for you. But there's something about like the cultural
I guess that's what the point I'd like to make.
There's something about the cultural significance to me that kind
of raises the stakes a little bit here and I
feel like you get a little bit of that. I mean,
I can't speak for people in the UK, maybe they
would feel differently, but but as an outsider, I'll say
that it feels a little bit like that.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
It's boxing versus MMA. It's you know, old school against
new school. The UK support their own. It's interesting. Now, look,
this victory by Till does put you know, some of
those big matchups potentially on the table, because now he's
got three official wins, four wins overall in boxing. What
about his great rival Mike Perry. While Perry responded to
(24:52):
some comments from Till, despite having a very successful BKFC
career going on right now, I can't read that fout.
Let me blow it up. I am forty five.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
I can read it. You want me to read it? Yes, please,
It's just not true. I'm booked for more, for four more.
I think you spilled it wrong at a smaller weight
with no gloves on. Don't say I won't take it
talking about Til sing he won't take the fight. When
I have the paperwork, I'd box you. Darren. Till just
has to make sense.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
All right. There is BKFC star Mike Perry. Uh the clothes.
We did have some busheto in the bar afterwards, where
Tilling rock Hold made nice with a bottle of brew
after bashing each other one sidedly. Luke at forty years old,
do we need to see rock Hold taking strikes again
in any discipline?
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Moving bro. I think I think he's got some tough
questions to be asking himself. I mean he's been getting
put out hard, yeah, several times now, like real bad.
This is a real bad koe.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
I mean, you're you're a male model. You should not
be the one putting out right.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean, right, I mean,
such a dad joke, Such a dad joke. On mile
three hundred of the road trip, you know, but in
fairness to UBC, in fairness, like dude, he he clearly
wants to be involved in combat sports. And I don't
know if pro grappling fights are a thing that you know,
(26:13):
really scratches that. It's they're not as big, they don't
make as much money out of the striking ones. I
think command a higher dollar, So I think that's part
of it. But like man do, the way he's getting
put out like this is we're I think we're just
well past concerning. And also the I mean, I'm not
saying he's not a tough guy. He's clearly an extremely
tough guy. But even the toughest guys, if they get
(26:35):
smoked like that enough, they can no longer be tough guys.
Where now the chin just doesn't hold up at all.
And I think we are in a place where he's
got some questions to be asking about. Just forget anything else,
just his health. You know, it's.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Crazy how he never recovered from the one ninety nine
tudtle loss to Bisbee, like it's it's never been the same.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Like his chin did recover, or his career, or his.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Career, his momentum, the ability to get the best out
of himself, you know, like, yeah, the David Branch comeback
win look good. Like there's been a couple of many peaks,
but it's been a long slide since then, and you know,
we've been on this ad nauseam not to pile on
him when he's down, but I think the arrogance level
was the thing that got him into trouble consistently.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, but you know what, people kill him for that,
and it's like, dude, that's why they keep booking him
in fights. You know. Yes, he's got a name, and
he was a champion in UFC, a champion and strike Force,
and there's some some pedigree that goes with that. But
also do he says insane shit like that's promoters love that.
So it's like, oh, yes, I grant that it's annoying
and not in keeping with reality, but it's like it's
in keeping with promotional needs and that goes a long way.
Speaker 9 (27:38):
All.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Right, now, it's a good time to put this topic
to rest, but it's also right now a great time
to remember where Tequila's story truly began. Let's go back
to seventeen ninety five, the year Cuervo invented tequila and
since then, Cuervo has stayed true to its roots, same family,
same land. Of course, you know that same passion two
hundred and thirty years later is still up in here,
(28:01):
in every pore and every margarita, in every celebration. So
enjoy the tequila that started it all, Quervo, the tequila
that invented Tequila Proximo Quervo dot com. Please drink responsibly.
That is the perfect transition into topic number two, which
was the co main event at Misfits twenty two on Saturday,
(28:23):
and it really gave us an opportunity to bring out
the flowers, bring out the applause, and bring out the
respect for a guy that we love in combat sports history,
who of course ended as UFC run with eight consecutive
largely damaging losses, and that's forty one year old Tony Ferguson.
It may have come in a oddly matched Misfits boxing
(28:44):
match against a gentleman known as Salt Poppy, but Tony
got back to the winning ways with a third round
stoppage against the Ropes. In this middleweight contest. You saw
him fall to his knees, emotions overpoured him. The internet
had some memes, of course, but they also brought out
real love. Luke, No one's trying to get this guy
(29:05):
back in a big time fight, maybe other than himself.
But how good did it feel to see a guy
we've always loved and respected just didn't want to become
a danger to himself get back, get the w get
his hand raised.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
I gotta tell you, I obviously this went way better
than some of us were kind of worried about. I mean,
I didn't exactly know what to think, but I did
not have high hopes for Tony. I don't think a
lot of people necessarily did. They had like hopes that
nothing bad would go wrong. But you know, return to
some kind of level of greatness is different. I think
Tony's been a hero for a lot of people. He
(29:41):
has obviously done and okay, a couple of things. He's
been a hero to a lot of people. He was
a very and has been a very fun, irreverent, different
kind of personality, irreverent, different kind of fighter, but like something.
Two things happened along the way. ABC number One, this
horrible losing streak with also the very devastating results has
been very difficult to want. And two, there is a
prevailing sense that the game never quite rewarded him for
(30:05):
what they should have rewarded him for, in part because
he was only interim champion. He never got the chance
to well, he got chances to fight a beat, but
they all kind of fell apart for one reason or
the other. And then the game like it did him
wrong a little bit. It didn't give him enough. So
then he goes out here and he gets this win,
stops the guy and BC. I will tell you what
I really liked about this win, if I can be
dead serious for a moment, is that it had Tony signature.
(30:29):
It had a signature on it, which was I was
a little worried at first because he was walking into
some pretty big punches, but he kept applying pressure. He
kept applying pressure. He started to find himself, get his
rhythm range, you know, begin to start landing a little
bit more, and then just march the dude down. It
was in some ways, now hear me out now, In
(30:51):
some ways it was a little bit of a vintage performance.
And what I mean by that is, dude like you
could see, you could see Tony as a competitor express
himself in a winning way. What I'm saying the kinds
of things he would do in those wins, like the
marching of the down and you'll kind of just take
(31:11):
a punishment but then like mowing right through it. That's
what he did in his UFC career, and to an extent,
he did it here like he had competitive signs of life.
I'm gonna say it. I used to be and have been,
and you know, the Misfits thing is not for me.
It's I'll watch it because that's what the game is
in many ways, but it's not what I prefer. But BC,
this is an appropriate level of matchmaking for Tony. Now,
(31:34):
this is what it looks like something along the lines
of this, if he can stay here and stay relatively healthy.
I mean, he's taken a lot of damage, but don't
you feel kind of good about what might be possible
now at this stage? And that's not something I expected
to stay say on Friday, I.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Mean, look kind of good provided the matchmaking stays on
the freaking Salt Poppy level. I mean, you know, no
disrespect to Salt Poppy. He's he had been six and
two in this space coming in. He you know, he
seemed fairly credible in there. But I do not want
this to escalate to areas where it shouldn't. It felt good.
If this is the Senior League where Tony can yeah
(32:13):
take a few you know, shots to the face but
still have a chance to compete. It was only a
five round fight, then yes, did it feel good? It
felt very good. It really did. I mean it did that.
We love Tony, how could you not? But uh damn.
And I gotta say this, like, I don't think the
Misfits thing is fully for me either, but I love
that they put Todd Grisham in the play by play
(32:33):
space because his overly theatrical ability when knockouts and knockdowns
happen is perfect for this. Wade Plemmons was more than fine.
He can do a lot of different roles for them,
but they got to get ks I out of that booth.
I mean he was just like, you know, it was
Rogan levels of like, oh it's over, Well it's not
over yet.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Can he seems I mean I say this as a
person decidedly annoying. He seems decidedly annoying, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Yeah, but there it is. I'll let's hear from Tony
who like I mentioned, looked relieved in winning this as
he dropped down to his knees. Here's him talking to
MMA Fighting. Jose Young's afterwards was.
Speaker 10 (33:08):
The youngs here with MMA fighting dot Com speaking with
the victorious Tony Ferguson.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
It feels good to hear that again, doesn't it all?
Speaker 11 (33:14):
Yeah, absolutely want to know baby undefeated.
Speaker 10 (33:16):
And you got a nice piece of hardware right here.
I mean, what do you make of the belt? That
the misfits belt?
Speaker 11 (33:22):
Why am I such a misfit brother?
Speaker 12 (33:24):
I mean literally it fits in. I'm gonna be honest
with you. It felt awesome. I was nervous as shape
before you know, camp started throughout camp every single time
was sparring and showing up to different privacy, traveling and
making it uncomfortable, and felt really comfortable in there after
a couple of rounds. You know, guy hit a couple
of times, but liten no cornerman and came out with
the victor.
Speaker 10 (33:39):
It must have been good to have your shoes on
again in a fight.
Speaker 12 (33:41):
Oh yeah, I wasn't slipping, wasn't thinking about even throwing
any kicks or punches or taking them down. So I
mean it was awesome. He ten hounds gloves. I mean,
not too much different than before. I mean it was
awesome watching him throw his head back with the jab.
I mean, the kid's tough as shit. I mean, the
guy's got balls of steel for signon dotted line, so
it props to salt Poppy.
Speaker 10 (33:56):
And it seems like the first two rounds he was
fighting a lot of success with that left. But then
you had just and it was like the Tony Ferguson
that we'd seen for X amount of years, just walking forward,
walking forward, walking forward, landing, and then eventually you just
it looked like you had broken him in there at
some point.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (34:09):
I mean there was a lot that went into camp.
Speaker 12 (34:11):
I mean my coach, host and knuckleheads, and the coach
was shot, and then my training partner and the fighter Tommy.
I mean, we all put in a lot of time
in the My coach, Dave Millis, he was one of
the missing links, you know, using our body for movement
to be able to make them throw. And it was
just I had to put everything together to listen to
them and then just come out of here and be
confident that I knew that I knew what to do.
Speaker 10 (34:29):
And in terms of your cure.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
What do you want next?
Speaker 10 (34:31):
Because we spoke with I spoke with Mans earlier this
week and he was adamant that, like Tony wanted to box,
if you wanted to do the MMA, we would have
given it to him. He wanted to box, and Tony
Ferguson gets what Tony Ferguson wants. So what does Tony
Ferguson want next?
Speaker 11 (34:42):
I want to box? This is something else, that's the
dream come true. I want to know. I'd like to
be two or no. MMA is still there.
Speaker 12 (34:47):
I mean, but I mean money talks, bullshit walks. I mean,
we're here to stay. I'm a misfitt, so we'll figure
this shit out.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Man. Dylan Danis walked in.
Speaker 10 (34:53):
It was very respectful, gave you a handshake, a little
bit of a face off there with his belt. I'm
sure did you see his fight? It was like six
sa fifteen seconds somewhere.
Speaker 12 (35:01):
No I expected it to be like that. I mean,
like Dannis is a gamer. I always told him, you know,
we talked on Instagram. You know, I just think that
some people are just a little bit misunderstood. You know,
for people that are misunderstood, misfits is a perfect place
for us, so.
Speaker 11 (35:11):
We'll figure it out.
Speaker 10 (35:11):
Well, congratulations Tony. It feels good to shake up. Like
I said at Victorious Tony first, tmme.
Speaker 11 (35:16):
It's been a long fucking time.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Damnit.
Speaker 11 (35:18):
He feels good, dude.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Shout out to jose Young's he looks like he looks
pretty cool there, Luke.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Right, that Mountain dew shirt.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Yeah, I liked to I like that guy. It did
feel good. It felt good when Tony did the dance
in the center of the cage, Luke, and he did
shout out his coach, coach, hoss of knuckleheads, Joseph Janick,
who by the way is tabitha Ricci striking coach and
a longtime boxing guys. So shout out to them. The
problem is, Luke, when you escalate, when now you take
a step up the ladder, it might go to areas
(35:45):
that we don't want to see for Tony. So, I
don't know if you saw afterwards, Luke, they did have
a press conference where MAM's and company were saying like
the future of MMA is here in Misfits. He was
pointing to Dannis Ferguson and Darren Hill. So I have
to ask you in light of this in light of
Dylan Dennis, who we're gonna get to in a second
having like a thirteen second or six second submission win
(36:07):
in an actual MMA fight on this card. Do you
want to see any of these people, meaning Till Ferguson,
even Danis in Misfits MMA or do they have it
right largely sticking with boxing moving forward?
Speaker 1 (36:24):
I think it's opponent dependent, And for that reason, I
think in the case of Tony and Dylan, I can't
believe I'm saying this. I genuinely can't believe I'm saying this,
but it's just where we are. I think a Tony
Dylan MMA fight honestly, doesn't that sound about right? I
mean yeah, I mean Tony's Tony is so infinitely more
(36:48):
accomplished in MMA, it's not even funny. However, just given
where he's at and given where Dylan might be at,
is that I guess I'm asking? Is that crazy?
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (37:00):
I don't know. Let's get a Long Island Luke in here,
Long Island Luke is a Tony Ferguson Dylan Danis fight
in MMA four Misfits? Is that crazy?
Speaker 4 (37:12):
Not crazy? Because it's probably gonna happen. But I kind
of hate it or why do you hate it? I
don't know, dude, I just I mean whatever, Tony's gonna
fight again, whether I like it or not. I'd like
it if he just retired, and Dennis I would like
if he genuinely was fighting his way towards an MMA career.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
You could argue fighting Tony in Misfits is, but like,
come on, it's not really dude, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I don't know. Does anyone feel like Dannis is a
big threat to beat him up?
Speaker 5 (37:39):
No, he could sub him. I don't think he's gonna
beat him up on.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
The feet though, So then what are you worried about?
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Just feel like it's a nothing fight. I don't need
to see.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
I'd rather see him box, is what I'm saying. Okay,
I get the point you're making. Let's hear from Tony
at the press conference where he talked about the possibility
of even bigger fights than he was talking about with
Jose Young's.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Visit, but obviously it never happened in MB.
Speaker 13 (38:04):
Do you think possibly you could bring Connor two misfits
that fight.
Speaker 14 (38:07):
He's scared ship that doesn't want to fight me.
Speaker 15 (38:10):
The same thing with that that coward could lead. These
are the two fighters that I've loved want to fight.
I got darcias, I'm both of them. They're scared of
the ship out of them and you know what, they
just don't want a part of what they do. And
we'll we'll find out a way how to do it.
Speaker 11 (38:23):
But uh, I'm here, I uhs righted.
Speaker 14 (38:26):
I feel great and I'm not just keeping great enjoy
gree tonight.
Speaker 13 (38:30):
So then how do you feel about that twenties thing
that Connor is scared of it? Connor, Yeah, I mean
he doesn't want that fight. No, But I like Tony,
but he doesn't want to get her. I mean, Connors
my boy, and I'm one of my brothers. So I think,
I mean, I like Tony line you want tonight, but
I don't know that's the path he wants to take.
Speaker 12 (38:45):
Now we had to say, well, I mean, to be real,
we had the same management, so they knew how I trained,
where I trained, and how all bouts and win.
Speaker 11 (38:51):
You now they try to sample that didn't work for them.
For the longest time. They knew how.
Speaker 14 (38:55):
Deadly I am when I really put it in there,
I'm that guy with the red lipstick, that kind of
just goes right, and each that guy from the Sniper
one comes into it.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Look, why does everybody feel like mc nuggets is able
to get out of his UFC deal and fight and
b KFC or misfits. He I keep hearing a lot of.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
This, I mean every because here's the thing. Everyone is
planning for the eventuality. Eventually he will be done with
his UFC deal. I don't know when that is, but
it will happen. There will be a day and then
there's gonna be a day after that where everyone is
going to try and feast off of his carcass. And
you're gonna see, you know, there's they're setting up for
that world.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
All right, let's hear Tony talking about whether a Danis
fight could move him.
Speaker 12 (39:36):
We'll figure, like you said, we'll digest this one, you
know what I mean. We're gonna enjoy these victories. You know,
we got our belts, which is pretty cool.
Speaker 11 (39:42):
Very happy that Toby respect unlikely, Uh.
Speaker 13 (39:45):
We unlikely and unlikely do something like that.
Speaker 11 (39:50):
That's kind of a difference how it goes.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
But you know, I'm super happy.
Speaker 11 (39:54):
Feel like pretty good. You need it, dudes, all right, man,
I think in the in the end.
Speaker 12 (39:57):
I think some of us are just misunderstood.
Speaker 11 (40:00):
When I say that, you know, with with open arms.
And now we found a house here over at Misfits.
I was happy to see Tony one likewise.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Happy, Yeah, I mean whatever, whatever, Okay, at least it's
not killing listen.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
It's not our favorite. It's not even our second or
third favorite. Okay, I get it, I do get it.
But it has life and on some level we have,
on some level we have to reconcile with that. How
we do that? I don't know what the right answer
is anymore.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
All Right, we got one more Tony Ferguson moment on
this flower filled comeback tour, and that's him giving at
an interview to some kids on the streets in Manchester.
Let's let's hear this. Now he's got one snow surprise
for ye.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Tell him.
Speaker 12 (40:57):
I said, hello, that's awesome and good looking your next
huge buddy, appreciate you.
Speaker 11 (41:01):
Let it get.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Wow. So much love going on, so much love, Luke.
Let's talk quickly about Dannis. He fought a guy who's
not a household name in boxing or m m A.
The guy shot a double leg. Dannis submitted him almost instantly.
What do we what do we do with this? What
do we make of this? Outside of him?
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Sorry? Your thing? Oh there you go now I see you? Okay,
yeah you got that? Are you at McDonald's You got that?
Speaker 3 (41:33):
You had the McDonald's WiFi?
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Well that the person with the McDonald's WiFi would say
that yes.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Yeah yeah. Whoever denied it supplied it? Uh luke? Do
we feel like Dannis wants a real mm A fi?
I mean, he talks about the UFC all the time,
but does it? What are we doing here?
Speaker 1 (41:48):
We know nothing about this dude other than he's still around.
He's still around this, I mean, dude, this That guy
could have walked into Dannis's gym one hundred days in
a row, and the exact same thing would happened one
hundred days in a row. Maybe by day one hundred
he would have lasted another thirty seconds or something. But like,
this is a matchup with no value other than they
(42:09):
just kept Dylan Danis in the rotation in a public
and present way, meaning they're trying to introduce him for
a subsequent opportunity. But like, what relevance of is he?
You know, in terms of ability? Like what relevance is
he is a UFC conversation even does it even make sense?
We simply know nothing in any he would need to
go through contender series, And I mean that that's not
(42:29):
often you would say that about someone who's been a
prospect for this long, But in his case, I actually
think it would be to his benefit and ours if
there was some kind of vetting process, because he's unvetted
in any kind of real way.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
I wish he would just do that before he gets
too old. I'll save the fans from playing his interview
with Jose Young's. But he does say he wants any
of the top fifteen UFC welterweights after this win, whether
that's JDM, Leon Edwards, MVP, he doesn't care. You're probably
gonna end up fighting Tony Ferguson in a hybrid fight
that's first round boxing, second round MM a third round
(43:02):
slap fight. So good luck to you. I mean, look, Dan,
this is the personality, but take it. I don't know,
get serious for once, dude to close here. Luke nay
Diaz showed up at Dirty Box on Friday, Mike Perry
and John Jones's promotion in the crowd and talked about
the possibility of this Connor trilogy at the White House.
Let's listen.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
How fans want you versus McGregor three. Do you want
that fight? Yeah for sure, White House.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Yeah, we'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
Time, guys, all right, time, we'll tell Luke. We'll see
if that happens. I mean, it makes a ton of
sense to cash them both out with that, all right,
It does that.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
I mean again, it has a life of its own.
On one level. You gotta just reconcile with it.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
Yeah, ride it, ride it to the death. All right,
there you go. Hey, that was our talk of misfits,
hybrid mma boxing talk. Let's talk some NFL all your
football fans out there. Week one is on the horizon.

yards of two twenty six point five? Which direction are
you headed as the Giants open up at Washington?
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Yeah, so that's gonna be in DC, Jaden Daniels on
the open or sorry, the start, I should say, I'm
gonna take BC the over on that.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
What was the number to twenty six point five?
Speaker 1 (44:55):
Oh, he'll he'll smoke that. He'll smoke that at Northwest

Go Commanders. One more note to tell you guys, we're
a little bit more than a week away. On September thirteenth,
there are two gentlemen that will square off in Las
Vegas with the opportunity to change boxing history. Netflix brings
you the boxing match of the year. Two worlds collide,
two legends in the ring. It's Canelo Alvarez, the undisputed
Super middleweight champion and Mexican icon holding every major belt
(46:34):
in the division at the moment. Welcoming former undisputed one
hundred and forty and one hundred and forty seven pound champion,
current junior middleweight title holder, the Great, the undefeated, the
future Hall of Famer Terence Crawford, Who's explosive and one
of only four fighters in history to do what I
just said, being undisputed two different divisions in the four
(46:55):
belt era. Get ready for the fight that boxing has
been waiting for, Alvarez versus Terrence Crawford and an epic
battle for that undisputed one sixty eighth title Saturday, September thirteenth,
nine pm Eastern, six pm Specific, Live and only on
Netflix from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. I'm getting fired
(47:17):
up less than two weeks away, all right, Luke Thomas.
Topic number three, The Craig Jones Invitational Part DUH was
a two day event that took place at the Thomas
and Mack Center in Las Vegas over the weekend. It's
now behind us, but the reviews have been mixed. What
went right and what went wrong with CJI two? And
(47:39):
do you believe that Craig Jones succeeded and everything he
was aiming for this time around with so much competition
between him and what UFC is trying to do.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
How many hours of CJI two did you watch? Me see?
Did you see any results anything? I saw some high
this is a relevant one. Yes, what did you see?
Speaker 3 (48:02):
I saw the main event, both taps okay, the jail
sun in mass Allister felt them. Yes, I did not watch.
I got some reviews from donks that were there. Okay,
they said the pacing could be improved, but I want
to hear your take care.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Yeah, I mean the reality is this, Craig Jones attempted
something very ambitious and as one of the problems that
we discussed on Friday was, if you have just paid
attention to his social media accounts and like all the
interviews he's been doing, the guy has been promoting this
or I mean, I wouldn't say a full year, but
a very very long time, day after day on his Instagram,
(48:36):
month after month, week after week, the whole bit. And
it's a super Bowl event, so like you get one shot,
it means two days, but you basically get one shot
at it. And c I two was not CJI one,
I'll just put it that way now. I love the
concept of the super Bowl thing in an era where
everybody is trying to make content that scales, to make
(48:59):
as much of it as possible for theself as much
as possible. I love the idea of there being a
singular event, and I think Jones's vision in that regard
is important. Number two the amount of money that this
tournament paid out. Because the B team won on Sunday night,
but turned out there may have been a misinterpretation about
the rules. The rules were written somewhat how do I
(49:20):
say this, They weren't very clear, and so yesterday I
know if you saw this BC Craig Jones actually awarded
another million dollars to the losing team, which is New
Wave technically something of his former team. So between that
and then the one hundred thousand dollars women's tournament, plus
all of the prize money, it's a small modest amount,
but I went to all the other competitors. This is
(49:41):
easily the most that any jiu jitsu event has ever
paid its athletes, by a mile, and CJI one was
the first one of those. So just the amount of
money that got poured down is important, so conceptually I
like it. In terms of its result, I liked the
Day two BC was a lot better than Day one,
but Day one had a lot of problem. I mean,
it was kind of snake bitten, it felt like to
(50:03):
me from the moment that Gable Steveson pulled out because
chel Son and subbed in. As you saw, he got
the two kind of buggy well reverse buggy choke taps,
but you know, it was something of a I don't know,
three like a Harlem globe trotter's bit kind of there
a little bit. And then on day one there was
way too many matches that went all the way, not
(50:23):
nearly enough submissions, and it's actually a little bit more
than that BC. One of the other problems with this
event is the market seems to show that to grow
jiu jitsu you have to do nogi instead of g
jiu jitsu. But there's a big problem, which is a
lot of the matches end up looking the same and
people have a very hard time passing the guard in
(50:46):
nogi in gi jiu jitsu. I recognize there are other
entertainment problems, but there's a million different ways to pass
the guard relative to Nogi with the GI there's many
mos obviously, because you can do all or at least
most the Nogi subs, plus a new universe you know,
clock chokes and bow and arrows and all kinds of
things that aren't really available to you for the most
(51:07):
part in Nogi. And so you get like a lot
of not just no subs, but a lot of matches
that end up kind of looking the sames. A lot
of guys would establish grips some kind of contact and
they would try to pass. There'd be a leg glassoing
and repummeling, and then they would just kind of be
back to where they started. And this happened pretty frequently,
or you get leg entanglements that really just went nowhere,
(51:27):
and the fans bowed a couple of times. So then
Day two comes around ABC and Craig Jones is like
fifty k per sub and Victor Hugo had two subs
that day, so he got just another hundred k just
in the subs and he was part of B team,
so he's gonna get, you know, another chunk of the
cash from that. This is what I mean, Like Craig
was handing out money. So Day two ended up being way,
(51:50):
way better. But then the other problem was the team
format PC. I don't know if it worked. I think
it was an ambitious idea and there were parts of
it that were enjoyable, and you did get B Team
versus New Wave in the finals, you know, Jets versus
the Sharks, kind of a sort of set up there,
(52:11):
but there wasn't enough rivalry. There wasn't in general, there
wasn't enough storyline. There was a lot of just glut
of matches that went to double elimination. It felt like
following the arc of these winners through the tournament has
a little bit more drama to it. And the last
thing I might say too is b see the wall
(52:32):
definitely plays a role, right, because what's the primary function
of that wall. It's too in my estimation, and I
think this is expressly told. It's to prevent restarts, so
that they just keep moving the whole time there's no
one restarting them. And you did see the wall used
in interesting ways. For example, there was one Mika Galval
had a like assume a gishy sweep. I think from
(52:54):
there it may be in somebody else, maybe that was a backtick.
I can't remember, but there was a couple of different
times where the wall would be useful and fun and relevant,
but for the most part relative I think to CJI one,
a lot of the action was more contained in the middle.
People were aware that they didn't want to be near
the wall, especially the corner of the wall, so they
(53:14):
paid more attention at keeping the match kind of flat
in the center. And that's fine because you achieved your objective,
which is not having the restarts. But when we watched
CJI one, it was like a mind blowing to watch this.
Not only did you not have restarts, it created for
these weird possibilities. But I think guys have realized being
on the wall typically confers some disadvantage. There was one
(53:35):
time where a guy got up on the wall and
then the person on the floor actually was Victor Hugo.
He snapped the guy down and here goes I mean,
because of the angle, you're not here. Because of the angle,
his face goes crashing into the mat. You know, it's
fun for us. But this didn't happen very often because
people knew you get up to these situations and it
confers a lot of disadvantages, So it just didn't quite
(53:57):
get going in the way that you would have hoped,
which is not to say it wasn't ambitious, which is
not to say there wasn't some real meaningful success. And again,
I think the effort, I mean, no one is trying
to do for jiu jitsu what I think Craig Jones
is trying to do. He's trying to do more. But BC,
you know the truth, when you try to do a lot,
it's you know, it's just a it's a lot to juggle.
(54:18):
And I just don't think all of it necessarily worked
this time.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
All right, let me ask you an idiot question. Why
can't Craig take all of his great ideas, his promotional ability,
his connections link up with UFC. I know they offered him,
you know, subpar money, and that's why he didn't coach
their version of the Ultimate grappler. But like, why can't
there be a world where they all come together and
(54:41):
make this work? Is it the same question as asking
why can't boxing get along?
Speaker 1 (54:46):
Yeah? Kinda. I mean the answer is I think if
the both parties really wanted it, and we're willing to
work within the parameters of what each party really valued,
you know, potential, there would be a way to work together.
And I think to your point, if you could align forces,
you know, with powerful actors in the space, it could
(55:07):
potentially do a lot, But that just doesn't seem realistic
at this point. It doesn't seem like a thing we
can rely on. And also I will say this too,
like this is the one thing I keep getting, Like
I've gotten questions on my live chat BC and I'm
sure you've heard different ones of different varieties, but like
someone's like, hey, why can't UFC takeover four ounce muay Thai?
And it's like, guys, do you want one combat sports
(55:29):
promoter to just give you everything? At this point? Like
UFC is so big and in control of MMA, and
obviously they're talking about TKO, and it's not even like
a disc on TKO. It's more just like having a
little bit of diversity in terms of people with different
ideas about how things should look and how things should
be run and how things should be structured. Do you
(55:50):
want that in the marketplace. It's just that I think
Craig has to reflect on some of the things that
were really good and true about this, but then definitely
got to make some changes if there is going to
be a CJI three.
Speaker 3 (56:02):
Interesting. Let's hear from Gordon Ryan, who, as you mentioned,
did not like what he saw in day one of
the CJI, putting out on Instagram. Imagine giving athletes eight
minutes to work and then being upset there are no
submissions sub eighty IQ thinking Gordon would also react.
Speaker 1 (56:20):
Which is not really fair because day two you got
a fair amount of submissions. But I also don't think
that that rule set is great for support.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Well, I don't think two day anything works. I mean
even I know that you know, WW is doing that
with WrestleMania and SummerSlam, and maybe if they've got the rosters,
you know, the people that are super fans want it.
Do you think two days of a grappling tournament makes
sense Luke to get people to really care.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
I think it can work. But like one thing else too,
you mentioned, like the WWE factor BC. Like one thing
they were like, we're going to do a Royal Rumble
style where you know, we're just going to have like that.
We don't know who the next person to come out
is going to be after so let's say you and
I go, you submit me who the next guy is
that's coming in. But what they ended up doing on
the broadcast. He was going to the coaches, then the
coaches would tell the announcer. So it was like, I
(57:04):
don't know, like the reveal should have been them walking
out right. It sounds like a small difference, but it
actually makes a pretty big one in real time. Some
of these things just all in concert with one another.
It created for some friction in this event.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
Just add striking, it'd be awesome. I mean, look, I
mean'd be great. Let's also hear from Gordon Ryan reacting
to the B teams went over New Wave. He says,
corruption at its finest not surprise at all. Luke, is
this a serious take from old Gordon?
Speaker 1 (57:32):
So not really. But here's the problem be see, let
me read you the rules that got messed up. So
this is where everything got jacked up. So in the end,
what ended up happening was there were five matches at
the end, a New Wave won three of them and
B team won two of them. But B team won
the last one ten eight, NICKI Ron, excuse me, really
(57:52):
put it on them? Okay, so it was a ten
eight there. So here you go to Now now you're like, okay,
well what do we do? What do we do we
have to go There was no emissions, so how what
did the rules say? The rule say as follows, If
five double eliminations occur, or any such instance where each
team's final athletes are double eliminated, the team with more
individual wins by judges decision wins. Okay. If tied on
(58:18):
the scorecards, the team whose athlete won the final bout wins.
If the final bout is a draw, the win goes
to the team whose athlete last won a non draw bout.
And that sounds kind of complicated and messy because it
is the reality on that is, because B team lost
twice and New Wave had three wins, they should have
ultimately won the contest. But because you had the rules
(58:42):
written somewhat strangely, it ended up going to the point
where you had the double elimination. So now we have
to go to the scorecards. Scorecards. Had it a draw?
If it's a draw final bout Nikki rob ten eight,
So therefore B team wins. But that may have been
a misinterpretation of the rules. So this is another part
like Craig is trying to put this event on it
even mention it. There was a tapping controversy as well.
(59:03):
Two guys, did they tap? Did they not? What is
a tap constitute in this rule set? And that wasn't
exactly fully fleshed out for the public to understand, you know,
pre event. So this one pointing out, like Craig is
trying to do a lot, and I think some of
the concept as well as some of the execution has
got to get ironed out for next time.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
How was the broadcast team, Luke? Because I don't you know,
I don't pull punches. I'd like to see you on
that broadcast team.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
I don't think I'm good enough for it, to be
honest with you. They had Phil Rowe UFC Fighter doing
backstage stuff that seemed fine. Shouts to MK producer Al Wendling,
who was Matt side doing like the postmatch interviews and whatnot.
Obviously we have a great love and respect for her.
I don't know the names of all of the commentators,
but I will say this, the one who sat in
the middle of the three, one of the color ones,
(59:49):
Hugh will Tigue. I believe he was one of the
original founders of flow grappling. He's fantastic. I mean, they
were all pretty good, but I felt like Hugh really
stood out, really did a phenomenal job. So the commentary
team in general BC was very strong, but they had
a hard time reacting to Hanato Lurana asking Tom to
blast yeah about being you know, it was a bit.
(01:00:10):
It's all a bit, so it's whatever. But it was
weird because I didn't know it was a bit. I mean,
I knew he was doing a bit, but I didn't
know if Tom Deblast was in on it. And then
they would throw it back to the commentary to you
and they would have they'd be like, well, our next
match is uh, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Yeah, yeah, it's wild stuff. Finally we did have that
super fight Chill Son and filling in for Gable steveson
a tap so nice. Chaill wanted to go to sleep twice.
Here's Chaill reacting to his two submission defeats here saying
the contract said three out of five and then I
can't read that fomp luke. I'm old.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
The first thing you do in a position like that
is relax. That's all that was. I don't blame anybody.
I'm not upset. Misinterpretations happened. I forgive you. It was
trying to claim he wasn't out.
Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
I suppose it was it as entertaining is Craig versus Gabby.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Last year, Craig versus Gabby went a little bit longer.
I think had a little bit more. I mean, Gabby
promoted the shit out of that. Yeah, you know, that
was the thing Gabby promoted. Dude, Gable didn't promote shit.
And then Chaiale is just flying it on last minute.
But Jail took the microphone at the beginning and was like,
shut your mouths, you know, you losers. Well that he
(01:01:21):
was definitely trying to be the heel to make Craig
look good. So he did what he could. Listen, Chaale
did what he could. I mean, what are you supposed
to do with that kind of situation? He did what
he could.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Yeah, indeed, all right, let's go to topic number four. We
mentioned earlier, less than two weeks out from the biggest
boxing match of the year, and I think you can
really argue maybe even the biggest since twenty seventeen's Floyd
Mayweather versus Connor McGregor. I mean, with the exception of
course of Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson, which did grab
hold of public consciousness for their real fight that was
(01:01:53):
more of an exhibition. This time it does get real
when Canela Alvarez and Terrence Crawford square out for the
square off for the unders you did one hundred and
sixty eight pound title and given their resumes their historic value.
I mean, there's a lot at stake in this matchup.
But Luke, Well, there has been some social media chatter
to the idea that the buzz for this fight isn't
(01:02:13):
there is this much ado about nothing in your eyes
or a valid critique for all we know, maybe fight
weeks giving us a UFC embedded style series or a
UFC countdown, you know, pre fight twenty four to seven
all access type thing. But as of right now, are
the haters the critics right in saying great fight, but
(01:02:34):
could use a little bit more of that buzz?
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
Well, I'll say this, I think in general this critique
and I've started to see more of it. I don't
know if you have as well. All right, I mean
I would say, excuse me, I saw more of it
this weekend, But I just think it's largely wrong. I
think it's first of all, far too early to say
exactly what fight week is going to be like. In
(01:02:59):
you know, Paul Tyson two weeks out to me did
not seem all that huge and then ended up being
really huge. More to the point about Paul Tyson, I've
already begun to see some comparisons, being like, you know,
well what that's the baseline for success, And it's like,
you know, I the Tyson Paul, the combined star power
there is greater than the combined star power of Canelo
(01:03:20):
and Crawford. I mean, I don't think Paul's as big
as Canelo. I think Canelo is pretty big. Are bigger
than certainly than Paul, and you know, obviously more relevant
as a boxer than Tyson. But Tyson's worldwide name is extraordinary,
Like the amount of power that brings together is simply
bigger than what Crawford and Canelo are bringing, Like it
can't possibly be as big in all likelihood anyway, it
cannot possibly be as big. So there's also this question
(01:03:40):
of like how unfair are the expectations. More to the point,
September ninth, I believe you, no fourth September fourth, So
in two days, the Netflix is putting out kind of
like a pre fight. You know, what do you want
to call it? See it's not twenty four to seven
document documentary series. The best way to put it, it's
(01:04:00):
just a docu series kind of you getting us all
ready for this particular about if I do have any criticism, BC,
it is one thing which I don't know how much
it will matter in the end. This is Netflix we're
talking about. This is Canelo Alvarez we're talking about again,
TKO a powerful promoter we're talking about. There's a lot
of forces that lead you to believe this will be
(01:04:23):
bigger or not than Tyson Paul. Still about a very
relevant size and success. If I do have a critique,
it's that it does feel to me like the promoting
around this early on they were like, we're going to
do this, you know, three city tour and blah blah blah,
and now to me, BC, it feels like the promotion
in terms of the extra things they're doing is a
(01:04:46):
little formulaic. It doesn't they're not going, you know, to
a crazy extent to create all these other kinds of
shoulder programs other things to sell it. But they might
also believe that they don't necessarily need to because they
expect it to do so well. So as a very
minor critique, I might bring that up, but in general,
I feel like people are just a little bit bored
(01:05:07):
because boxing's a little boring right now, and they are
maybe having a bit of a jaundice view with the
whole thing.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
Yeah, I mean, I didn't realize how much boxing really
does need this when it got announced, right because of
how bad this summer would be and really how empty
the box feels at the moment. It is hard to
critick because it critique because it is a different model
than we're used to. They're literally not in the business
of selling pay per views for this one. So many
people have Netflix, so many people that don't are probably
(01:05:34):
gonna buy it for one month and give it a
ride just for this fight, like they did for Tyson Paul.
Maybe maybe like they did for Srono Taylor three, if
that was of interest. But I do agree with you.
It's like, in one sense, they're against it to begin with,
because neither Canelo or Bud is going to go out
of their way to do the full expansive media tour,
talk all that trash and create sort of legitimate buzz.
(01:05:57):
And I think that they overachieved to a large degree
with that three Fight Press tour, particularly the second and
third stops where you could see Bud Crawford amping up
the you know what I'm coming for that ass type
of feel, and Canelo almost feel a little like put
off by that. I just now feel so long ago
I kind of wish for, you know, if they could
have stretched that out or maybe dropped an explosive face off,
(01:06:21):
you know, a month out, maybe do another tour of
media interviews. Anyway, it is what it is. It's gonna
be what it's gonna be, and that's, of course a
great fight on paper. Look, how much pressure do you
feel is on TKO ZUFA boxing UFC in that while
they've you know, dabbled in the past, they put on
a tight they put on a kel Maul show that
(01:06:41):
I helped call in Dublin last year on UFC Fight Pass,
but nothing compares with this debut. Is there pressure on
them in your eyes to show us in a dome
what they can do on the boxing side?
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
I think there is, Yes, I absolutely think that's true.
I mean, we know the UFC can do sizes of
arena shows like it's the back of their hand. We
know that they can do larger situations than that. For example,
Marvel Stadium they did in Australia I think about fifty
thousand or so a couple times, you know. So it's
(01:07:13):
not like we don't think that they can do something
like this. But this is Las Vegas, this is the
first time they're promoting at the Allegiant Stadium. This is
obviously their first real big boxing event through TKO. This
is a big deal. This is and this is on Netflix.
I mean, this is this is the biggest fight of
the year. I can go on and on. There's just
kind of a lot of either firsts or first time
(01:07:35):
big stakes moments for this organization. And we'll you know,
UFC fans understand this very keenly UFC production. I mean,
like a very well oiled machine. You could never say
anything other than that. On the other hand, you could
also argue, and again everyone's gonna have a different sense
about this, but one criticism you could make is that
(01:07:56):
it feels, yes, the production is nice from a graphics standpoint,
and it all run smoothly. You know, The production elements
don't like get like lobbed on top of each other.
The guys who executed the production elements are all pros,
but that you know, there isn't pomp and circumstance to it.
Right the guys walk out of a tunnel, they're wearing
gear you know you don't have You don't have pyro,
you don't have performers there, you don't have huge shows.
(01:08:20):
This is you know, a Saudi funded kind of operation BC.
I mean that's part of it too. It is in
the stadium. It is kind of supposed to be a showcase.
What kind of esthetic do they have? And b see
the previous Netflix shows, even shows, but abouts even Taylor show.
These were big and over the top and like you know,
(01:08:41):
color saturated are what kind of show is tk O
gonna give us? And what does that say about how
the aesthetic does or doesn't match their UFC programming?
Speaker 3 (01:08:51):
Yeah, and I hope they look they have. We talked
about their announced team last week. I mean, just the
three that are physically calling this fight. John Anak, Max
Kellerman and Andre Dude. That's star power. There's the return
of Max Kellerman to this chair after a long time.
He hasn't really called a fight since twenty eighteen. When
HBO Boxing sees you know, putting on fight cards. So
(01:09:13):
i'd love to see more prefight content surrounding them. I'm
excited to hear their call. I hope you have seen
nails it to be honest. In terms of the stadium experience,
I'm now gonna be there, so I'm excited from you know,
inside the dome to see what that's gonna be like.
Regarding pressure, though maybe there is a lot of pressure
on TKO to deliver here. Do you think that my
(01:09:34):
theory here is true that even though Terrence Crawford is
bringing in the unbeaten record, even though he's an underdog,
not by much when you really look at the difference
in size between them, which is just a credit to
who he is and the reputation he carries. Do you
feel like there's almost zero pressure against Crawford and that
all the pressure is on Canelo not just to win,
(01:09:55):
but to potentially body up this much smaller man.
Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
Yeah, and you know, a big show himself, like you know,
kind of be the author of grand circumstances. Yes, dude,
Crawford's playing with house money. He's going up I mean,
you know, two at this point, but basically three weight
classes from the last time most people saw him. Now,
obviously he has the fight against Israel Madromov. He was
at fifty four. But the last time most people saw
(01:10:19):
him it was against or the most boxing fans or whatever,
was in twenty twenty three when he bought fought Aerol
Spence at forty seven. Like he's at the end of
his run, Canelo still has, at least in theory, a
little bit of life left in him, like abs so free.
It's gonna be in Las Vegas. So the majority of
the fans are probably gonna be his fan base, and
the skin fan base they're gonna be. You know, I
(01:10:39):
suspect they're gonna have a much greater dude, Like who's
gonna get.
Speaker 5 (01:10:43):
A I think we just lost out.
Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
I think it's his Wi Fi.
Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
It has been him the whole time, but he was
in denial before.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Lings and arrows of outrageous Wi Fi fortunes. Here Luke,
you know, I mean he's frozen. Look at that man
here in time. Yeah, look I to whatever Luke was
gonna close with, I'm sure I would agree agreed with it.
I I I'm really focusing on what an opportunity this is.
Do we have Luke Thomas Beck? Do we have El Tie?
Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
I thought we did.
Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
Luke Franklin Thomas. I want to remind people Luke Franklin
Thomas named after Benjamin just so you know Benjamin more
like it. Oh look, I'm obviously the I think. The
whole thing about this fight it's it's almost it's almost
a negative Torcuanelo because he's expected to win by law.
But the whole thing is, can't Crawford etches name even
deeper and not only to the history books, but to
complete one of those all time leaps that I do
(01:11:40):
believe will be on some level comparative to Manny Paciol
rising up to his seventh and eighth divisions and winning
titles at forty seven and fifty four, Roy Jones moving
up to heavyweight for that one fight, and that one
big win over John Ruiz, and of course Sugary Leonard
coming out of a three and a half year retirement
to move up to middleweight for the first time and
take on the baddest middle weight of all time. So
(01:12:02):
a lot at steak. Do we have LT please? If
we don't Long Island, Luke, can we show the Netflix
produced trailer that's getting people fired up for this one?
Speaker 16 (01:12:14):
When I used to start a boxing and they say
I'm gonna be the best fight, and they will.
Speaker 11 (01:12:18):
Mexican stylist duke it out.
Speaker 7 (01:12:20):
Middle of the ring is that relentless spirit.
Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
Canelo didn't avoid tough fights.
Speaker 5 (01:12:25):
He used his cloud to make tough fights.
Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
If you win this fight, does it push your wait?
Speaker 6 (01:12:32):
I had to go through so much every day, and
now that is a battle.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
It's kill or be killed.
Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
When people talk about Terrence Crawford, they gonna talk about
how it overcame all the odds.
Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Putting on muscle don't mean that you're gonna be slower,
but you punch a little harder.
Speaker 17 (01:12:52):
The fight is great, The fight is fun, but it's
his memory.
Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
These are two of the baddest motherfuckers of all time.
I'm gonna go once in a lifetime fight.
Speaker 16 (01:13:01):
Divine is done.
Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
Dude. I gotta say that commercial as we get Luke
Thomas back in here and we find out that it
was his WiFi, he was him along.
Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
Okay, No, this time it was me. The other time
was you yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
Right, look at all seriousness. My favorite part of that
commercial was Bud Crawford, you know, kind of speaking to
the critics and saying, yeah, I'm putting on all this muscle.
Not only is it not gonna make me slower, it's
gonna make me punch a lot harder. Did you get
those same fuels watching that?
Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
I just hope he's right. You know again, Canelo, this
is the part too, b See, like when we're talking
more about this as the fight, it's closer Canelo in
all like, in theory, Canello should not lose this. Right
in theory, you're getting a very old Bud Crawford who's
been relatively inactive, who's going up several weight classes in it,
advisably against a dominant puncher with a great chin. It's like,
(01:14:04):
you should not if you're Bud Crawford, you should not
win this. But given the way Canel has been conducting
his career, I hope that Bud Crawford does. I truly I.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Wish this was the first fight where both big name
fighters agree to no drug testing where they're just like
anything goes man, Okay, I'm fire. I am really legitimately
fired up for it, all things considered. I can't wait
to see it. Boxing needs this right now, We'll see
what happens.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
People panicking, It's it's no just not right now, not
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Yeah. I mean, I want to see if Bud has
the power to dissuade Canelo in any form, or if
he fools us and just tries to out box him
for twelve. It's such an interesting thing. And Luke, as
much as I haven't loved the inactivity of Crawford, maybe
this has allowed him to put on the weight the
right way slowly. He obviously knew this fight was coming
for you know, almost a full year. So uh, let's go.
(01:14:53):
Let's go. I'm fired up with that one final thing
we've got. As everyone's sharing their predictions lately, let's hear
one from I believe the only common opponent of the two,
and that is a champion, former Olympian America.
Speaker 11 (01:15:07):
Who do you think has an opper hand with it
being Crawford in the movement or Canelo with the power.
Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
Would you say?
Speaker 11 (01:15:13):
What would you say?
Speaker 6 (01:15:14):
I think Crawford, in my opinion, has more attributes, like
more advantages in this fight because being the guy that's
not taking much punishment and not not not many hard
hard fights, but open down weight categories. See one thing
about Crawford has built himself up slowly, whereas Canalos jumped
(01:15:34):
up and down weights and there's always been a heavy
heavy guy and he's probably taking a bigger punch from
the heavyweights and stuff like Bivil And you know, I'm
in Triple G and those.
Speaker 11 (01:15:47):
Fights take a lot at you.
Speaker 6 (01:15:48):
So I just feel looking at it, the fresher fighter
in that fight is Crawford, and I think he's the
fresher guy is going to probably Edgy in my opinion,
because I could just see that Canal don't have that
firing the belly anymore. He's made so much money, He's
won every title right there. He's he's been in the
game a very long time, so respect where it's jew
where I think that he's just like, maybe this could
(01:16:10):
be like a farewell fight for him.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
Wow. I mean I'll say this, dude, while you know
I can't be happy at Canelo's uh you know, outright
ducking of David Benaviez, will say what it is. I've
got enough respect for him to say that the whatever
fire is left in the belly, he's gonna come out
full steam ahead to make sure that he doesn't lose
this fight. I mean, you gotta agree whether he wins
(01:16:34):
or loses. I think you gotta agree with that. Luke,
It's not like, oh, Canelo is too old if he loses,
because Crawford's great. I don't think. I think you know,
Canelo has been coasting for a while, but he knows
this is not a coastable fight.
Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
Yes, I think that's right. He's definitely been coasting a while,
but he knows that this is not the one to
do that. The question is, if you've been coasting too long,
what do you leave behind? Yeah, maybe nothing. I guess
we'll see, all.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Right, let's find out.
Speaker 14 (01:17:00):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
Our final topic, topic number five of the week is
to look ahead to this Saturday, UFC back on the
slate with a fight Night card in Paris that is
pretty damn attractive, especially a middleweight main event matching a
shrieking naserdem Imovov against an unbeaten in the octagon Kyle Bohallio.
We already know what's at stake, the opportunity for the
(01:17:21):
winner should he shine and should he outshine the matchup
on the other side of the brackup pairing Anthony Hernandez
and RDR a potential opportunity at the middleweight title. But
LT Saturday's card in Paris is not all about the
middleweight main event, which we will break down in great
detail on Friday show. It's also got a lot of
(01:17:42):
very interesting things going on. If you had to pinpoint
one fight or one storyline heading into Saturday, what has
you buzzing one more time?
Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
Put the graphic up if you again. The ZM and
Fernandez fight is off. XEM fell out, so they're trying
to see if they can find a fight for Fernandez.
Just something to keep in mind. So here's what I'm
gonna say. I mean, if you're asking me, like genuinely,
which one of my most excited about non main event,
the answer is the Comaine. But in the interest of
giving this question a better answer, I'm going to give
(01:18:13):
you two of them. I'll give you one on the
main card and then one on the preliminary card. For
the main card, BC, your opener, Patricio Pitbull, Well, I
guess it could be the I'm not sure exactly because
of the way they moved everything around it. I think
it's still the main card opener, but I guess we'll
have to see. So in this particular case, BC, it's
going to be the Patricio Pitbull taking on the Black
(01:18:35):
Panther himself. Lostan Kaita. I might be mispronouncing his name.
A double champ out of Octagon in Europe, he'llbe This
will be a one forty five fight. He hasn't lost
since Octagon forty five in July of twenty twenty three.
But the point being is he's sixteen and one twenty
seven years old, very good, capable based.
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
Capable of winning. I mean capable of ruining Patricio's night
or your.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
Wi Fi with what he's capable of. At this point,
I think we've.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
Got him back. I've seen movement on his screen here.
Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
Oh my god, man, my fucking internet is just going,
what the fucking situation is?
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Go?
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
And everything's great?
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Keep going? Sorry, god damn it. Anyway, point I'm trying
to make is that's a great one on a pre limb,
which you might be sleeping on before my internet dies
on MEBC Axel Sola taking on Ryse McKee. This is
a one seventy pound Axual Sola out of the Arees promotion,
which is a French promotion. So I gotta say we
bust UFC's balls when they pass on all these international prospects,
and for some reason there are some that they still do.
(01:19:37):
You've got two good ones on this card in Losen
Kaita and now Axl Sola. Axual Sola obviously has undefeated
since he will basically since the amateur days and then
when he lost to Back in twenty nineteen. But that's it,
Like he has been absolutely killing it out there. And
I've had several people who are close monitors of the
(01:19:58):
European scene tell me both of these guys in a
particular actual Sola more recently so two matches to keep
out for now. Long Island look probably has some other ones,
but it's just spouts of quality with prospects these.
Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
I think it's Reese McKee.
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
No, it is Reesemkee. I keep saying rise because that's
the way it reads in my brain. But you're right,
it is right.
Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
You know I've butchered plenty of names. You know. There
we go. Look Obviously, that comin event bangs in so
many ways. It's you know, producing in terms of the
turnover at lightweight and the new era coming on. Who's
seriously for real? A BSD who bounced back with a
win after two devastating losses that seemed to slow his
momentum against a Mauricio Hoofi, who has a legitimate momentum.
(01:20:41):
But I'm looking at my Lithuanian brethren here, Modestus Bukowskis, whoever,
since losing two of three in his first UFC stint
and being cut is seven and one overall since then,
the one loss was a second round ko lost to
Vitor Petrino. But since coming back to the UFC five
and one during this run, the split decision went over
(01:21:02):
cute Laba last time out. He's got a sub of marching.
How do you say that? Praco? He draws a Paul Craig,
who is you know, has proven to be beatable of
late back up that light heavyweight. He's got a new deal. Yes,
probably tears apart most of the female population in Scotland.
(01:21:24):
But Luke, if this Bukowskis goes out there and gets
another win as a nearly four to one favorite, are
we building a run here at two of five? Or
should I pipe the helldown?
Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
Yeah? You should pipe the hell down. I mean two
of five is wide open, but not that wide open.
Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
All right, all right, let's get Long Island. Luke to
open up his legs and tell us about what's going on.
Speaker 10 (01:21:42):
Here.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
What do you got for Saturday?
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
I mean, I don't know. I got to look at
this card more closely. Guys, I'm not gonna lie. I
took the weekend kind of off this ship. But Martin
Tibura Ante Delija coming over from PFL. That should be
a fun fight. I believe those odds are pretty close.
I think we pick him right now, so I like that. Yeah,
that's a good one. William Gomei Robert Ruchala. This is
some Polish guy Ruchala making his UFC debut. Go me
(01:22:04):
obviously French guy, MMA, factory trained. I mean, maybe that'll
be fun. It looks like Kyle Fernandez, by the way,
has a replaced opponent, Harry Hardwick.
Speaker 5 (01:22:15):
He's out of Cage Warriors. This will be his UFC debut,
so we'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
Harry Hardprick making that debut.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Oh wait, one fight that actually I missed over Andreas Gustavson.
Speaker 5 (01:22:24):
We're not fok Ratina.
Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
That should be a fun Oh yeah. Is it gustuson
the racist guy?
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
Or did I just know he's got the real Apparently
he's got real fucked up tattoos. I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Said, uh the r word.
Speaker 5 (01:22:34):
He had our strength, you know, like that's the word.
Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
Yes, he must hang out with kgb Lee's ex boyfriend, right.
Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
Luke, Yeah, maybe so maybe.
Speaker 3 (01:22:44):

on our preview on Friday of UFC. Body, let me

Every week Sunday night at Morning Combat on X and Instagram,
we give you, the viewer, the opportunity to get your
voice heard. But lt we did want to speak for
the show here and say what we don't want. If
you can help it we want to hear from you, folks. Well,
we don't want to see you just double up on
the questions that you may already know are probably going
(01:24:54):
to get answered in the rundown recapping the weekend that was.
We want you to spin it, feur Bard, ask a hypothetical.
You know what I'm saying here, Luke, that's not too
much to ask, right, Maybe he's in deep thought, maybe
he died.
Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
Maybe dude, can you give me a take long island, Luke,
take me off, Hord, not not yet? What the fuck
he's like, I'm just canceling you now, like you're done here. Okay,
take me off screen for just a second. I'm going
to try to do something with my internet because it's
not affecting the Wi Fi for some reason, but it
(01:25:33):
is affecting the wired connections.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
So you should pay your bill for my bill's paid.
Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
But something's up with the thing. Give me just a second,
take me off, and then I'm gonna try.
Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
And fix it, all right, all right, So that is
our our ask of you, folks. If we can, uh,
if we can get a little bit more creative on
those old d ms from the diggies, appreciate you this
one's called d MS from the Dogs. All right, first
question coming in hot from ristronat Thank you, Sarah. I'm
(01:26:04):
assuming it's a man because we've got male viewers, right.
What would Till have to do to be qualified to
fight the mighty Jake Paul? Will this fight take place?
And who would you favor? Well, look, let's ask to
answer that in reverse. Who would I favor? Right now?
I think you still have to favor Jake Paul, who
has more boxing experience against I guess a wider variety
of opponents. The problem when you really find toothcombing Paul's
(01:26:28):
resume is how often he's been fighting with an extreme
age size and even times experience advantage. A lot of
that would go away in this matchup, which is what
would make it so sexy. Could you outright favor Darren Till?
I don't really think you could. We have seen Jake
Paul go rounds. We have seen an acceptable level of
defense for the crossover bubble. We're not asking him to
(01:26:51):
go fight Zero Vermerez necessarily in this fight, So I
think this is the closest you'd get outside of a
Tommy Fury rematch to Jake Paul in an influence influencer
fight actually being in position to potentially lose, which is
part of the appeal when you're going to buy a
big fight. Will this fight take place? I wonder if
it would come down to whether MVP and Misfits would
(01:27:13):
work together in a co promotion, and it would also
come down to Jake looking at his options and realizing,
is this is worth the risk right now when you
can still get these sort of fancy exhibitions like the
Tank Davis for whatever that's gonna look like. Maybe that
answer is no. Jake seems too aggressively wanting to get
what can only really be seen as a potential cash
(01:27:35):
out against the likes of Anthony, Joshua or Canelo. Maybe
he prefers that because there's so much money at stake.
In terms of what Till would have to do to
be qualified, I think he's already done it. It's really
gonna fall down to what's Jake's plan, who's available, and
can these two promoters work together. I mean, look, do
you feel like Darren Till would have to do anything
(01:27:57):
else to be firmly on Jake Paul's radar.
Speaker 1 (01:28:03):
To be qualified to fight the manager Paul if I
take place on the radar. Sure, but even Till said
he doesn't think Jake's gonna want to take it.
Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
So does he have to do a Tarvard to Roy
Jones and show up at his press conferences and offered
to piss on his loan?
Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
You know, honestly, I think beating Carl Frosch might might
might help him. That's why that's why Carl Frosch is
like the right one, because there's there's reasons why that
fight makes sense, and then what it leads to is
something bigger.
Speaker 3 (01:28:27):
Yeah, indeed, indeed, thank you for your question there, rifstro
and not we'll see if. I mean, look, if he
did that and he won, if Till went in there
in a damn stadium, if they wanted to do it
a small stadium against Frodch, it might get Jake's attention.
Let's hear from Omar Underscore VARs. Was this weekend? I mean,
I think you can answer this just by looking at
a rundown today. Was this weekend one of the funnest
(01:28:48):
and or most important combat sports weekends that did not
involve the UFC. I mean, look, you could add in
major boxing that it also didn't involve with the combination
of CJI, Misfits, the real American wrestling thing that Holly
Holm was a surprise entry in, and dirty boxing on Friday,
(01:29:09):
you had decidedly non traditional combat elements being front page
news in the dead of summer.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Yes you did. But like the answer to this question
is like any great boxing weekend, Like, we'll put put
up the question one more time. Maybe I misunderstood it
was this weekend, one of the funnest, the most important
combat sports weekends that didn't involve the UFC. No, like
anytime there's been a really like Fury Usic was bigger
and funnier than this. But but to your point, the
combat sports universe has expanded so far out now that
(01:29:37):
you can get that satellite stuff in VKFC or Misfits
or you know, CJI is not the same kind of thing.
But it's also on the fringe for a different reason. Yeah, absolutely,
there's so I mean, dis well, try explain to people
like twenty years ago you just didn't have.
Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
No, you didn't, and this was very MMA adjacent. If
I can finish your sentence here, Luke, it's gonna be
hard to look at that ship. If you ain't alive,
all right, you here with Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
Bro, oh my god, take me off one more time,
God damn it.
Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
You can just join on your cell phone at this point.
Maybe you got a BlackBerry in the drawer you can
plug in, Luke. Wow, all right, Uh yeah, hey long islan. Luke.
Did you get a chance to check out any of
that uh real American wrestling over the weekend?
Speaker 4 (01:30:21):
Because I sure know I really didn't watch anything this weekend.
No CJ I, no misfits. No, definitely, not one of those.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
Like where you have to be the boyfriend of the
year one weekend a month to keep things going.
Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
No, truth be told, I was just sick all week
and I probably would have tuned into like one or
two of them, but we were just like laying around
doing nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
You got that, you got that uh rona or what?
Speaker 5 (01:30:40):
I don't know. Maybe I'm feeling better today, that's all you.
Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
Turkey tweeted that he had the rona. Gosh he actually
called it corona he did. Yeah, you know, I hope
he's doing better there, good old uh hi himself. Uh h,
I am is back him. It's Luke Thomas, a regular
shopper of hymns for men. Luke, did you uh hyms
dot com? Did you check out Real American Wrestling over
the again?
Speaker 1 (01:31:03):
I saw the highlights. I don't I don't know if
y'all can see me. I'm just gonna talk until people
tell me to stop.
Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Yeah, we can see just fine.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
I saw some of the Okay, okay, I mean, my
internet is a disaster and this is Verizon, so you know,
just can't get good service out here, apparently from what
I saw. I mean, Holly Holm is an International Boxing
Hall of Fame. She was a UFC champion. She has
pro kickboxing wins and then fills in on short mint notice,
like twenty four, forty eight hours whatever was something insanely
(01:31:31):
short to go compete in freestyle wrestling at a respectable
level and then do you know, decently well at it?
She's forty three, Like, how is that even pots insane?
From what I didn't see the wrestling of NBC, but
from everyone who did, they told me it was kind
of a hit. It was kind of good.
Speaker 3 (01:31:48):
So I watched a bunch of Mike Perry's dirty boxing
and I actually was entertained. I I saw when when
who scored a win and then his opponent tried to
attack the security outside. I mean there was some there's
some some weird shit going on there. Yeah, it was.
It was wide.
Speaker 1 (01:32:04):
And also, uh, biggie boy got a belt that I
don't I gotta be honest, I don't like the dirty
boxing belt. Can I be honest about that?
Speaker 3 (01:32:10):
Oh? I kind of like it because it's so weird.
We'll get to that in my shit in a second.
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
Art it looks like a pizza box.
Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
Yeah, that's kind of why I like it, to be fair. Oh, look,
are you still using dial up any chunes?
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Jesus, No, dude, this is fucking terrible. I'm trying to
figure this shit out. I don't know what's wrong. I
don't know what's wrong. I think it's honestly, I don't
think it's my connection because my connection to my phone
is never being disturbed, so like it's something wrong with
my computer more generally, and I don't know what the
fuck the issue is.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
That's all right, Luke, We'll just got it out. Let's
go to the next question from Styx plays time. He
must be a drummer. This guy win or losing his
next fight? Should pooton Perea challenge Aspinall for the heavyweight strap. Afterwards,
Aspinall is in desperate need for fights, and Alex could
become a three weight sh I say book that fight
(01:33:02):
a reminder that Aspinall will have the first full defense
at UFC three twenty against serial Gain Luke. Should Poeton, well,
I saw you blink, you're here?
Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
Should Poeton challenge Aspinall win or lose against Ankliath?
Speaker 1 (01:33:20):
This is terrible. I might have to restart my computer
because I'm really just this is driving me nuts. I
apologize to you. I don't know what the fuck the
issue is. Yeah, all right, uh no, if he loses,
who would possibly have an interest in that?
Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
Well, it's not like there's a long list of great
heavyweights waiting to fight Aspinall.
Speaker 1 (01:33:37):
Look, you know, I mean I get that, But yeah,
I mean I guess you could. Yeah, I guess you could.
I mean, I don't know what appetite the UFC would
have in the event that he loses. I guess it's
really my point, But could you do it? Sure you
could do it?
Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
Yeah, I mean you can also make Jones Aspinall if
John is willing. I mean, that'd be nice too. All right, folks,
there we go with that, maybe just maybe a coming
to the south lawn. Let's bring in I believe Koawai's
own Big Papa, Telvin, Key Papa, fresh off the three
am shift. If it's three am, Telvin must be lonely,
(01:34:13):
he says. With sam Alvi snapping his losing streak and
becoming Karate Combat champion Antony ELKAKUI ferguson snapping his losing
streak and becoming a Misfits interim middleweight champion. Would you
guys be down for Governor Penn to participate in either
CJI or UFCBJJ, Louke, this is a loaded question.
Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
Uh No, I think Governor Penn is in need of
the kind of help that CJI or UFCBJJ can't really give.
Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
I would I think I would have to agree with
you on that. I don't think that rewarding fighters after
disturbing and scary behavior with more fighting, even if there's
no head trauma in this is the way to go.
But that's just my two cents. Thank you Big Papa
for the question. Our final donk ask comes from a
man and his cat, and believe me, I live that
(01:35:09):
life too. Who is your dream? Live commentary booth you
wish to work with for any combat sport Looke, Maybe
I take boxing, you take Mma. Look, you've been calling
fights lately. You've been in and around broadcast for many years.
Let's say you got to be color commentator on a
Monster MMA broadcast. Who do you want play by play
(01:35:34):
commentary and ringside reporter with you? Like your dreams?
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Uh yeah? John Annik and Brian stan Oo and then
ringside that's a tough for one. I mean, Megan o'levy
does a phenomenal job. Yes am I forgetting someone in
the history of the sport who you used to do
it really well?
Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
Like, I mean, you know, part of the ringside job
is interviewing fires, but UFC uses one of the analysts
for that, so that takes that away. But you know,
Heidi Andral has been a gamer. Karon Bryant been there.
Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
For a long time. Yeah, I don't know about the
ringside reporting when I'm trying to because I don't. I'm
trying to think through if I'm disrespecting someone by not
like recalling anyone who has been on previous broadcasts that
may have stood out. I will say that you know
a couple of names that the people who used to
be really good. Lam mckechern used to be really good
a lot. Excuse me, La mccharen, What am I saying,
La mccaren used to be really really good? He briefly
(01:36:35):
did it. You know. Stephen Quadris obviously goes way back.
Boz Rutin has been a mainstay for you know, broadcasting
for many years. A gentleman. Yeah, yo is a great more.
What am I even saying? How could I even sleep
on Marronalo Jesus, that's a ship. It's a crime that
I just did that, you know. I know Rogan has
been around for a while. I tend to think his
best stuff is behind him, but you know, certainly he's
(01:36:58):
been an important contributor, so you know, something like that.
But definitely either you could you could throw an Annik
or Ronaldo, you know, I hold them both in high regard,
and then Brian Stan for sure commentary. All right.
Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
I've been lucky to have worked with moronalo a ton
in the past year, and it's been great experience. If
I was looking at a dream team to be on,
I mean, it's kind of hard not to say. Jim
Lampley even in this you know, advanced stage of his
career where he's sort of reappairing a few times thanks
to what ring Magazine's putting out. What if it was
Jim BC on color commentating, Uh, the late George Foreman
(01:37:33):
next to him. Imagine Lampley Campbell Foreman and then for
ringside reporting, we'll we'll, we'll throw in Larry Merchant as
ringside reporter there. I mean, that's the greatest team ever.
Or maybe put me on ringside reporting and bring back
Jim Larry in uh In Big George, I know Roy Kellerman,
they were great, mixed in uh, Emmanuel Stewart through the
(01:37:55):
years as well, Al Bernstein, so many great ones. But
I absolutely loved when George Foreman was at the peak
form of his commentary in the nineties with Lampley and Merchant.
That's my take right there. So shout out to Big George.
Thank you for your choices, Yeah, for your questions. Our
final segment is the weirdest.
Speaker 1 (01:38:12):
Let me ask a question here. Let me ask a
question before before we get going. Should I plug back
in my WiFi or my wired connection to see what happens?
Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
What do you think I think you should set up? However,
it gives you the best chance to not go out
for the next fifteen minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:38:30):
I don't know what that is. Hold on one second,
hold on, take me off the goddamn screen. Take me
off the goddamn screen.
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
So, just so you folks know what I do every Sunday,
I well, should we just listen to Luke swear like
he's my dad in the garage in the nineties, being like,
you know, get me that wrench. You know, I scholar
the globe for the good, the bad, the ugly in
the worlds of combat sports and beyond. Folks. It might
offend you, it might entertain you. It's really just designed
(01:38:57):
to press Luke Thomas's buttons even more than his own
dial up connection. Is this one's called have you seen
this ship?
Speaker 1 (01:39:13):
Who Ah?
Speaker 3 (01:39:14):
I mean, I didn't make these memes, all right, but
they're out there whether you want to watch them or not.
Long Island. Can we get a technical update on our
co host? Here, empty chair?
Speaker 4 (01:39:24):
I hear him rustling around, you know, yeah, yeah, there
he goes all right, all right, here it is Luke Thomas.
Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Are you with us?
Speaker 5 (01:39:34):
He's got to put it in his ear piece, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
Once he gets in his ear hole. Are you here?
Can you hear us?
Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
I hope, yeah, you got it?
Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
You're there? Okay, great, great to see.
Speaker 1 (01:39:44):
Yeah, but I mean the thing is it's fading in
and out is the problem. It looks fine and all
of a sudden it just crashes. And I don't understand why.
I don't get it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
Yeah, lightning crashes and old mother cries thought. Look I've
been living that life for decades, right, you.
Speaker 1 (01:39:55):
Know, throwing copper. So what you're doing throwing?
Speaker 7 (01:40:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
All right, Luke, you're back. Okay, Luke, here we go.
Let's talk about DBX, the old dirty box gire Zenio
Rosen Strike scored a first round stoppage to become the
inaugural heavyweight champion, and then he made love to that
strap under the covers. Look at that gorgeous piece of
square box. You see that, Luke?
Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
Yeah, I don't. I mean Long Island. Luke weigh in
on the shape and the look of this belt.
Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
I think for dirty boxing, it's perfect.
Speaker 1 (01:40:30):
I kind of like it, am I am I out
of my mind.
Speaker 3 (01:40:33):
I mean, it is ugly, but it's so gaudy. I
kind of like it. That's what I'm basically trying.
Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
I like big belts. I know some people like modest
sized belts. I don't. I like the big ones. But
like a big old box looks like a pizza box.
Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
I don't know, Yeah, it looks like a torto. Right, Look,
you can fit a few guys.
Speaker 1 (01:40:47):
Are you are you? Are you a torta pounder? Is
that what you?
Speaker 17 (01:40:51):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
See if this week's t shirt of the weeks? If
that catches up with you, Luke, This next video gives
new meaning to the phrase nose beers. Check out this
felt Could you do this without choking? Luke?
Speaker 1 (01:41:04):
The question is why would you want to? That's really
the issue here, dude.
Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
You gotta do it all for the gram at the
end of the day. But wouldn't that hurt?
Speaker 1 (01:41:11):
But I'm like, I'm like, bro, there's an easier way
to do this. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
Yeah, iv intravenous, Right, It's just just injected in my veins.
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
That that was indeed a nose beer. It's a good point, Luke.
Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
You know, I love not only bushido moments in combat sports,
but when fighters get immortalized in their homeland with a
giant ass mural on the wall. All right, vacant strawweight
title challenger Verna Janjioba was given that treatment in Brazil.
But Luke, were they too accurate in that painting for
(01:41:48):
your liking?
Speaker 1 (01:41:49):
All right? Are we talking about her eyes?
Speaker 3 (01:41:51):
Well, I mean you tell me, look at the painting, dude.
It's a great moment in a fighter's career. But they
were like, yo, we're gonna get this one hundred one
hondo accurate.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
I mean, here's the thing, right, Like, don't you have to.
Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
I guess I mean what yeah, I mean yeah, but
like I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:42:12):
So you're saying they should like have cosmetic surgeried her up,
you know, yes, why they should have given her that
Lasik surgery.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
Unless it's like a neighborhood Watch type thing where they're like,
you know, we we you know, like you're you're all
under surveillance, right, you know what?
Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Come to think of it, How did they get around
that with? I mean, I think they painted it over.
But there was a notorious b I g one out
there in Benson benson Hurst, I'm sorry, Bedford Stuyvesant for
a while, but he had the shades on, right, so
you didn't see why, you know what I mean? Whereas
you know you got to just kind of confront the
biology with Verna.
Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
Here's the thing. If Verna wins the belt, I would
petition my own money to get that thing even out
on there for her sake.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
Okay, that's big of you. I'm that you're thinking of others.
Speaker 3 (01:42:59):
Yeah you, Luke, you ever been to the Jersey Shore.
Let's go to our beach banner of the week.
Speaker 1 (01:43:04):
Okay, can you read this? Uh? Dropping loads all over
the Jersey Shore?
Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:43:15):
That is Wait? What is the fucking brand? What's the
show at the beginning? The brand?
Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
Is that man's Jon song? Luke? Okay, I think he's
advertising for himself. All right?
Speaker 1 (01:43:26):
What is that thirty four?
Speaker 6 (01:43:27):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
I couldn't read the rest Long Island? What is it?
What is this thing?
Speaker 5 (01:43:32):
Well, I was getting as close as I could to
my TV to read it.
Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
I can't read it either.
Speaker 5 (01:43:36):
I just got thirty four or something.
Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
I think it's some guy putting his cell phone number
on there and being like willing to Also, you know
what I.
Speaker 1 (01:43:42):
Love about New Jersey is just how classy it's people are,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
That's where Mikey's from, by the way, Jersey Shore. Tom's
River area yeah, get it done.
Speaker 1 (01:43:51):
That makes sense. That makes sense that.
Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
Dude loves burn from Chrysler.
Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
Yeah, yeah, he loves Burn Chrysler. It's unbelievable, Luke.
Speaker 3 (01:43:58):
You know that we're big he man and fans and
average Joe Art produced a T shirt our design talking
about that relatable weekend plans here from Skeletor, Can you relate.
Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
My plans for the weekend? Jack king off until we
meet again, you know what, entirely relatable plans and Skeletor
and I understand each other quite greatly.
Speaker 3 (01:44:21):
Yes, it's well done, right there, Luke. College football was
back in full swing this week.
Speaker 1 (01:44:26):
It sure was. Arch Manning got not a great day
for him.
Speaker 3 (01:44:30):
Yeah, you know, mean nine to eleven memes people sent
me related to arch Manning, who was out of control.
But Luke coach prime over there at CU Deon Sanders
was asked about his favorite college tradition.
Speaker 1 (01:44:41):
Is there anything about falsome about this stadium that surprised
you that you didn't expect?
Speaker 9 (01:44:47):
Yeah, this middle of weed in the second quarter surprised
They got mean, like every game, I'm like, dang, it
seemed like it's like a light up quarter. You know
what I'm saying, so is this the quarter that y'all chose? Like,
I'm saying, is this a TV two? I'm out it
never fails in. I'm like, Wow, what's going on? Because
you know, I've never been at a day of my life.
So that's that that's kind of new to me.
Speaker 3 (01:45:08):
That that's a that's a boulder essential. I guess do
you believe him he's never been high a day in
his life, Luke, I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (01:45:15):
I mean, he's had a good life. He's been high
on some other things. I suppose, you know, thank you.
I want Dion to know I have been high a
day in my life, many days.
Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
In fact, Dion, go watch a fight at the Barclay Center.
They don't wait till the second quarter there.
Speaker 1 (01:45:28):
Oh my god, if you walk into the Barclays Center,
you're going to get a contact high in there. It's insane.
Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
It's insane. Let's go to this live shot, sir, we're live.
This is in RBS. Here we go. Let's check out
a game or the first day of this jacket.
Speaker 11 (01:45:44):
I think the weight he's been running for football.
Speaker 1 (01:45:50):
Uh, dude, Alabama had a bad day. They looked so bad.
You know what. I used to hate college football because
it's it's so shit, you know, But now I think
that's why you have to like it is because it's
so shit.
Speaker 3 (01:46:04):
It's not shit. It's competitive and rivalries and it's all
the kids that.
Speaker 1 (01:46:07):
Used to beat you to the NFL level. It's ass.
It's butt cheeks.
Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
Well, okay, so butt cheeks, I especially when you're talking
about the SEC. All right, Uh, let's go. Let's go
to the U and see the T shirts of the
week from this couple.
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
Piece. And also, I come in pe.
Speaker 3 (01:46:26):
I mean that's very subjective for that senior couple right there. Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:46:31):
You know, it's very interesting that the seniors would be like,
h hey, everyone, I want you to know I ejaculated
my wife. That's really a thing that I do.
Speaker 3 (01:46:38):
That's how my kids got here. Let's go to Michigan State.
Check out this glizzy gladiator in the crowd. Luke, do
you respect this action?
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
PC? I didn't know you shaved and went to the game.
Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
My hair dye ran out, But yeah I did. I
did take that doubt, Luke. Speaking of glizzies, it's time
to play another round of would you eat? All right,
here's our first item, let's head to the soft serve machine.
Straight up.
Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
Okay, dude, is this ai fucking slop? What is this shit?
Speaker 3 (01:47:08):
Straight up? Would you eat this?
Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
Absolutely fucking not. I'm not homeless. What kind of a
question is that?
Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
I would CRUs long OutLuke? Can you split the difference here?
If somebody handed that to you, you'd crush it?
Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
Come on, fuck no, I might eat some ice cream
around the outside.
Speaker 5 (01:47:23):
I'm not taking a bite of that fucking dog.
Speaker 1 (01:47:24):
Yeah, you know, you know what I want on my
fucking ice cream is hot dog juice. That's the thing
that's been missing this whole time. You're discuss You're a
disgusting man. You're a disgusting man.
Speaker 3 (01:47:34):
I would. I would try it. If it was at
the big e at the State Fair, I'd try it, Luke,
I would, I really would. Okay, let's go to this
next one. They call it a giant hot dog. Let's
see if you would eat it.
Speaker 18 (01:47:43):
Let's surprise my family with a giant hot dog. I
made a custom oversized bun and baked it in the oven.
Then I just scrolled a ten pound beef biloony for
thirty minutes. By this point, my family was starving I
topped it with mustard and ketchup and sliced it up.
It's the perfect shareuble hot dog. And next time I'd
probably boil it so I could drink the hot dog water.
Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
Okay, this woman, this woman goes and makes the most
horrendous food you've ever seen. She took a burger, disassembled it,
and made frozen popsicles out of it. She took beef,
grilled it, made little cubes of it, and then made
cereal out of it. Like. She's known for making the
most disgusting food imaginable.
Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
So you wouldn't try her giant dog.
Speaker 1 (01:48:24):
No, and in fact, I hope she dies.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
Oh my god. All right, look I got one more
for you. This is interesting. You ever mix apple pie
and baked beans? Let's watch this. We can talk over this, Luke.
Here we go. Here's the ingredients.
Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
You get some apple cannibullshit a cannibullshit.
Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
Yeah, okay, Then you got to get some of them
Bush's original.
Speaker 1 (01:48:48):
Yeah. Not enough sugar in that.
Speaker 3 (01:48:51):
Okay, Okay, there we go. Then you get some of
that mustard.
Speaker 1 (01:48:55):
Dude. People are just people are just mixing any Do
you realize how much sugar is in this fucking meal.
Speaker 3 (01:49:04):
Dude, I would definitely try this. You would not now
a little little bacon on top.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
I'm not being I'm not being I'm not I'm not
I'm not doing a bit. I'm not being facetious. I'd
rather watch my family murder than eat.
Speaker 3 (01:49:16):
Okay, dude, you would try this and you would like it.
You're a dirt hole. I've hung out with you.
Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
I'm a dirt hole. I'm not eating.
Speaker 11 (01:49:22):
I'm not eating.
Speaker 1 (01:49:23):
Like it's the war and this is what's all that's
left in my mr.
Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
All right, all right? Do you imagine the ships you
did after that too?
Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
By the way, I mean you got plenty of fiber.
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
I'll tell you that Joseph A Bank is rolling in
his grave right now watching this. All right, Luca, it's
time for some child abuse. Let's watch this kid on
the bike. It's shock.
Speaker 11 (01:49:49):
Wow.
Speaker 16 (01:49:51):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
See that landing is a doozy right there?
Speaker 1 (01:50:03):
So did you want to go faster at each stop?
You gotta know that you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
Like, let's go to your child abuse T shirt of
the week. This brings us to Costco. Luke, what do
you think about this?
Speaker 1 (01:50:12):
I would drop kick a child for a costco hot
wholesale hot dog. In fairness, I understand that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
Actually, I think, all right, Luke, you may consider it
child abuse for parents to allow this. Watch this youth
football celebration. All right, we're on the run here, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
The little man is dusting the competition. This is an
excellent performance. Okay, all right, we're just doing missionary on
our opponents here.
Speaker 3 (01:50:40):
The coaches ran down to celebrate with him, to do
the DX.
Speaker 1 (01:50:43):
Luke, Yeah, that's a little much for what is this
pee wee football? I mean, are they three? How old
are they at this point?
Speaker 3 (01:50:50):
You know, wild we got You know, we always have
to offset child abuse with getting the elders involved. Here,
let's let's interview grandpa. Let's watch this.
Speaker 11 (01:50:58):
I can do an impression of you.
Speaker 9 (01:51:00):
You can do.
Speaker 17 (01:51:01):
Yeah, I bet you can't. I'm an older man and
you can. Let me see what you're going to do.
Speaker 5 (01:51:08):
Gamble, gamble, gambles die.
Speaker 17 (01:51:14):
Look at I'm in, Look at I'm in. This is
a I'm in. This is a bad habit.
Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
Gamble, Gamble die, Gamble, gamble die. All right, Luke, you
know what memory pops up for me? It was eight
years ago May Maac. And you know what that brought us,
the frozen rope of the section.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
A frozen steak in his dungaya.
Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
Look at the unit on that guy. You would call
it a phone, or wouldn't you? Luke?
Speaker 1 (01:51:46):
I mean it's something.
Speaker 3 (01:51:48):
Yeah, that is something right there, all right? Uh speaking
of the UFC, Dana White was in China fighting robots, Luke,
this is a preview of when AI takes over and then.
I mean I just watched Mission Impossible eight with my
kids the other day, Luke, it's a preview of what's coming.
Speaker 1 (01:52:02):
Okay, I've not seen that one, nor have I seen these, Dude.
I've heard that Chinese Robotics is like we're all worried
about like what the Boston Dynamics Company can do, and
then they've got Chinese robots who apparently can sissor uh stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
Yeah, I mean, look, do you think Dani is considering
how little he'd have to pay these robots? Or is
that joke overplayed?
Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
Dude? Remember that? Do you remember that movie with what's
his face? The guy who played Wolverine? Who is the
guy played Wolverine?
Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
What the hell's that guy?
Speaker 1 (01:52:35):
Jackman Jackson, the Aussie? What real steel, real steel. I'm saying, like, now,
now those were oversized. These are a little tiny ass robots.
Speaker 3 (01:52:43):
But like if they get good enough, you know, you
never know, right, yeah, you never know, Luke. They don't
complain or pull out of fights. Let's go over to
the heavyweight champ, Alexander Usik. So, Luke, this dancing video
broke out and we can certainly peep his moves and
it actually got him in trouble because one of the
sanctioning bodies which allowed him to get time off from
his mandatories to heal an injury, basically came out and said,
(01:53:06):
looks like he's not injured anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:53:09):
I mean, he definitely does not look injured to me.
Speaker 3 (01:53:13):
Yeah, I mean, do you break it down at a
wedding or are you like a you know, you sit
the whole time and just like.
Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
Well, the reality is the reality is. It depends on
the wedding. It depends on the wedding. Okay, if it's
a friend's wedding where they're not super big on dancing,
then you know, and there's some of it that happens
and it's more modest than I tend to skip it.
If it's like the last wedding I went to was
about a year ago and it was actually in Boogata
(01:53:40):
and they made me there. They made me. I had
to so you know.
Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
I do the cabbage patch when I get late. Luke,
you ever rock there.
Speaker 1 (01:53:48):
Or no like this number?
Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
Oh yeah, you know, I'll get out the fishing imagine
you're fishing rod and start learning people in it gets
it gets, you know, wild and zesty.
Speaker 1 (01:53:59):
Luke. All right, hey, I find that it's very easy
to get asked to leave the dance floor if you.
Speaker 3 (01:54:03):
Just yeah, that is true. That's a true factory. Okay, look,
your two pieces of the week comes on the rugby field.
Watch this these large gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (01:54:18):
Okay, what are we waiting for here? Oh oh okay,
Oh dude, I think that's legal in rugby.
Speaker 3 (01:54:26):
Yeah I think so.
Speaker 11 (01:54:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
I mean it look like Luke Roncole getting sent to that.
Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
I think I think you're allowed to do that. That
was a pretty nice combo there, Bob Bop hit him
with the two piece.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
Damn, don't even need the soda with that. Lucas. Time
to rate that tat and people want authentic ranking ratings
one to ten, ten being the best. Are you ready
for this.
Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
I'm ready check out this.
Speaker 3 (01:54:44):
Tyson Fury backsplash of finishing off Deontay Wilder in their rematch.
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:54:51):
I mean again, I would never in a million years
want this or revere this fight in such a way
that this would ever make sense to me. But as tattoo,
this is clearly well applied, although Fury looking a little
bit more muscular than he deserves to. You know what
I'm saying, what.
Speaker 3 (01:55:07):
Are you giving it?
Speaker 1 (01:55:09):
I give that it. I mean as a tattoo, I
give it a nine, you know, wow.
Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
Nine out of ten. All right, this one's more American friendly, Luke,
what do you rate this?
Speaker 1 (01:55:18):
Yeah? This is this is a negative eight billion? Is
what this is. You've got. You've got the flag of
the losers of the Confederacy in a almost mechanized style, with
the monster logo as the thing that rips back and
reveals what's really below all time loser tattoo.
Speaker 3 (01:55:38):
It's got your two favorite things, America and energy drinks. Luke,
I thought you'd be more into it.
Speaker 1 (01:55:42):
I don't think the Confederacy is America.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
That's a fair point right there. Well, it depends on
what state you're in, Luke. Did you hear about DeShawn Jackson,
who's making a comeback. He put he had them put
him to.
Speaker 1 (01:55:53):
Sleep in his runner, the wide receiver the QB.
Speaker 3 (01:55:58):
And had four tattoo arts work on him while he
was out to do a backsplash of his family. And
I'm going to need you to rate the final product
here coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:56:08):
All right, let's see so again he did not get
bad tattoo artists to do this. Yeah. I tend to
think these like composition murals on the back to me?
Are they're not? It's not really arts, no worries it
(01:56:31):
supposed to be. I suppose. But I for that reason,
I can only give that like a six.
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
All right, we'll take it. We'll take it. I like
that he got put to sleep. I I you know
how mad they got at me at my first colonoscopy
when I tried to get all of my inner uh
inner hole tests done at one time. I'm like, can't
you just get the get the prostate while you're there?
They were like, no, you don't understand. Luke, Like why wouldn't,
Why would you?
Speaker 1 (01:56:56):
Why would you?
Speaker 3 (01:56:58):
So here's the deal I'll give you. If you get
a colonoscopy, you wake up. You don't. There's no pain.
Speaker 1 (01:57:04):
It feels like memory. Yeah, memory, It's like it's like
it's like getting drugged.
Speaker 3 (01:57:09):
It is best thing ever. But if you get that
prostate checked, you're walking funny for three days and it's
just awkward and it's whatever. Why can't you put me
to sleep? Do all the gross things you have to
do for me? That's why I think there's a lot
of money if we can open up a clinic where
we put men to sleep and then just have doctors
check all their holes.
Speaker 1 (01:57:27):
Right, you've thought a lot about this.
Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
I'm serious. They get mad when I try to pitch
them a new idea. But welcome to the new age.
All right, come on, let's go radioactive? Luke? Yes, yeah,
heavy is the head that? Where's the crown? Can you
rate this tat?
Speaker 1 (01:57:48):
Wow? That is a I mean right there? Yeah, this
is once again. I mean, here's the problem with these tattoos,
is I mean that one's not even done, but like
or maybe it does, don't I guess I'm not sure.
Like the top there, it's not like that tattoo artist
(01:58:10):
doesn't know what he's doing, but the artistic composition of
it is so unbelievably asked that I have giving it
anything but a negative five quadrillion score. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
Wow, that's the first time we've gotten that score. That's
wild right there. Okay, our final tattoo, Luke, is a video.
Then we'll get your reaction. And we don't have sounds,
so you could just kill the video. Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:58:36):
Nine thousand and nine.
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
Yeah, I killed the joke without the sound, and you.
Speaker 1 (01:58:40):
Put it in a mirror and it says poop.
Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
Yeah, you really had to listen to it to be there.
But we'll keep going, Luke.
Speaker 1 (01:58:45):
I hope that guy dies.
Speaker 3 (01:58:47):
Yeah, our favorite recurring character is back. It's time for
weird cake lady, Luke.
Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
God damn you stop putting this mention in here. Oh yeah,
why don't you just eat it like a like a
like a homeless person at the Greyhound eat the plastic bag, Luke. Yeah,
you know what, she's probably eating pure plastic. Yeah, I
bet you are eating plastic, you demon from another dimension.
Eat some clothing, Yeah, of course, why would that be clothing?
Why don't you just eat it? Yeah, of course, of course.
(01:59:16):
Billy goat here, Celeen, the billy goat yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:59:20):
I bet you. Seline could start an OnlyFans and do
like uh remember the movie Major League when the owner
they every time they'd win, they'd pull another piece of
the clothing off of the Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, true, Yeah,
she should do that.
Speaker 1 (01:59:32):
I like how BC thoughts were. You know what she
could do with this cooking talent show her.
Speaker 3 (01:59:37):
I should manage her, Luke. All right, Luke, you go woke,
you go broke. Crack o'barrel learned that here's what they
were going to go for with their new label. Luke.
But as you can see, that's heavily offensive. Luke. Okay,
that is on American at best.
Speaker 1 (01:59:57):
Right, Okay, that's that one. Caught me a guard, that
one is. That's a good one. That's a good Yes,
they caught me on guard, Luke. Shout out to RB's.
You know they got the meats.
Speaker 3 (02:00:10):
This is normal. This is normal. This is normal.
Speaker 5 (02:00:14):
And this is normal.
Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
And we're not talking about roast beet sandwiches.
Speaker 1 (02:00:25):
This is not normal.
Speaker 3 (02:00:26):
Okay, Luke, Obviously you know what she was talking about, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
She was talking about those five dollars beef and shudders.
Speaker 3 (02:00:34):
Yes, the next slote she was talking about them meat
curtains lous obviously, right, okay, and I know what your
next question is, Luke, I know what your next question is.
Can we go to the meme here?
Speaker 1 (02:00:46):
Do that?
Speaker 3 (02:00:48):
Does it match the carpet?
Speaker 1 (02:00:49):
It's turn, I mean, to the extent we had any
female viewers, we no longer do.
Speaker 3 (02:00:57):
Oh wow, shout out to that US soccer goalie. That's
great stuff right there. And finally, Luke, let's go off
to the golf course. All right, dude, what the f fuck?
Speaker 1 (02:01:08):
Dude, don't do that.
Speaker 3 (02:01:10):
Don't fucking that's that's Oh.
Speaker 1 (02:01:14):
I don't play golf, man, That's not my kind of game.
Speaker 3 (02:01:16):
Oh no, I'm not into that. That's touch butt in
the park. Come on, Luke, that's at least a B
plus this week.
Speaker 1 (02:01:21):
That's a B plus. That's a B plus. Yeah, you
had a couple of good ones there. That was actually
pretty good. Well done, well done. I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (02:01:27):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (02:01:28):

so let's go.
Speaker 3 (02:02:48):
Look they've been They've been doing a lot of squash matches,
have they not lately?
Speaker 1 (02:02:52):
Last week definitely was. Also there was a guy on
the I called his last fight prior to the Contender Series,
during an ALBI out of Kilcliff there Is. I will
say this, I don't think he's competing today. But there
was another guy whose fight I called at xFC, who
I absolutely think you should pay attention to. I told
you about him BC. His name is Chris Alvidrez. Dude,
(02:03:15):
he looks to me, it's very rare. I watched someone
on the regional scene and I'm like, okay, there's something
like tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:03:22):
You're saying.
Speaker 1 (02:03:23):
I don't think he's tonight, but I think he's soon.
I think he's soon. Chris Alvidrez. When you see him,
he is not to be missed. I think there. I
think he could be something special. We'll see, all.

(02:03:53):
in the fact that he ain't scarred to fight Francis Anganu.
So take that, haters, He's still Beaston twenty five eight,
you know what I'm talking about?
Speaker 1 (02:04:02):
Twenty four to seven. No, No, do you know I.
Speaker 3 (02:04:05):
Thought, up until I interviewed him the other day that
that I thought he meant the Beast in twenty five eight, like, hey,
that was my college dorm room number.
Speaker 1 (02:04:15):
No, but there was like an apostrophe on the end,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (02:04:18):
Right? I realized that now, yeah, yeah, I'm I'm an
a hole, all right.
Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
Well for lou you also didn't realize there was no
Santa Claus until fifth fucking grade.
Speaker 3 (02:04:26):

I will hold that grudge. Okay, I will, I will. Okay.
