Brian Campbell and Luke Thomas are live in studio to talk UFC Vegas 108 and much more!

Flyweight contender Tasuro Taira rebounded from his first career defeat to easily finish unbeaten South Korean Hyun-Sung Park. What did this performance say about the 25-year-old Japanese prospect's standing as a future threat to the UFC 125-pound title?

Back-to-back main card bouts on Saturday in the 155-pound division produced incredible TV bangers as Esteban Ribovics decisioned Elves Brener and Chris Duncan outlasted Mateusz Rebecki. Both bouts shared FIGHT OF THE NIGHT honors. Which fight was better and does either one belong in the 2025 fight of the year discussion as we kick off the second half of the year?

Plus, Thad Jean continued his breakout 2025 campaign by winning the welterweight tournament, $500K and gaining entry into PFL's Champions League. BC and LT recap PFL 8.

Happy Morning Kombat Monday, Donks!

the best damn combat sports show they ever put together,
Morning Combat. We ain't got ship to talk about today,
bc LT from the DC. How about these nuts? Hey,
brock Listener's back in w W. So much for that
sex trial? Right?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
How implicated is he supposed to be?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
He hasn't been accused of anything, but he did agree
to fly to Connecticut during contract regnegotiations to uh have
fun with a sex toy, but then the blizzard stopped him.
Are we really talking about this this early in the show?
Is it is? So? Shout out to Summer Slam. TKO
just killing it in combat sports right now?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Just just no rules.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Speaking of TKO, We've got a show for you today.

recapping ufc APEX. Also, Hey, PFL did not have a
bad night the other night. Did not have a bad night.

about UFC. Yeah, their model, we of the model has changed.
And I was like, oh, here I complain again, but
just hear me out. We are where we are, Like,
I'm not even nothing I say is going to take
us to a different place, right us.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
As a show?

Speaker 1 (02:10):
No, no, I mean the UFC. It is what it is,
and that their content models. UFC is just on now right.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Even when they're not on, they're still on.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
No, no, no, but like they're just on, like the light
or like when you're at a bar and you see
a bunch of TVs and the like. It's just on,
but there's nothing. Things just happen and there's nothing coherent
or pronounced about it. It's just a steady stream of
fluorescent light. And sometimes there's good parts to it. It's

(02:41):
not like it's when I say it's on. I'm not
saying it's on in an always irrelevant way, but like,
the best way to think about UFC is it's not
an event based production content company anymore.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
It's just on. I really feel like TKO has killed
combat sports.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
They're trying, they're trying, trying, And if you say this
you have the balls to know with notice with your eyes. Hey,
this doesn't look right. People be like, why do you

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, yeah, me Dennis and Jed yesterday. It was a
lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I mean, can you imagine the dirt baggery in that one.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
There's a lot of a lot of dirt bag we
are happy to have Long Island Luke here today. Maybe
it'll be a fun episode. We'll see, Luke right, We're.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Gonna have fun with what we have, and what we
have is nothing. So there you go.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It's a show about nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
It's very very what about blood in your blood in
your story?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Titties there? Also, I'd like to remind everybody out there
that now is a good time to remember camera on
me where Tequila's story truly began. Because back in seventeen
ninety five, folks, Quervo invented tequila. Okay, since then, Cuervo
has stayed true to its roots. We're talking the same family,
the same land, most importantly, that same passion. Two hundred

(06:28):
and thirty years later, Quervo is still here in every pore,
in every margarita, and in every celebration. So enjoy the
tequila that started it all, Quervo, the tequila that invented tequila.
Proximo Quervo dot com. Please drink responsibly, and Luke, we
are one week out next Thursday. A week from this Thursday,

(06:52):
UFC three to nineteen pregame Preview brought to you by
Quervo live in this studio and Oh, by the way,
we're gonna have a special third guest, and dude, I
think we could spend that whole time talking about DDP
versus CHAMAIAV because I am starting to get that feel,
not like this will be some generational fight, but that
this is a special fight above the normal main event
title fight. Are you getting that feeling?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I said on Twitter over the weekend that this fight
has Hendo hua potential.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Oh well, listen to the.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Words I'm saying. I didn't say inevitability, I said potential.
And what I really just what I'm trying to get
at is don't you feel like that main event the
WAG in which DDP and Jemia matchup, they could unlock
something special. Yes, as a consequence, that's kind of what
I feel.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
They could return the UFC the Glory.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
One fight ain't gonna do it, but certain card. It's
a good card, and my main event is the most
exciting main event on the calendar of this year period.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Speaking of Chicago and speaking of warfare, did you see
the washed warfare that we got into zone over the
weekend with Regi's progra against Jojo Diez in that co
Man the glor that was fun.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Right, ask you a question, why has pro Greys declined
happened so fast in his.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Mid to late thirties. Now, I mean it's caught up
to he has forty six. I mean, okay, he's a
he's a one of one aliens.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Okay, fair enough, But I'm just saying like it felt
like when bro Gray started to go like it just.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
It went off a cliff. It went. Yeah, but he
won on Saturday, so shout him by the I don't
know if you saw that main event. Did you see
Kenn the Sims against Oscar Dwarte?

Speaker 1 (08:22):
That was heard Dwarte look pretty good.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
He did look pretty good. Is gonna get a big
fight off of that.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
So people say, oh, Ryan Garcia's win is aging well,
and I'm like, well, that one is, but like the
Haney one's really not though, is it.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
No, No, it's not, it's not. But Roley just got
up upgraded to full champion and the WBA that's my
that's my guy. Right that Roly found God and he
found a new new life in the sport. It's interesting
how that happens.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
I don't know how if you actually found God, God
found him, maybe that's maybe that's it.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Maybe that's maybe that's it right there, all right, that's
the religion today's show.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Yeah was this?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Are you quoting the Fray right now?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Am I? No?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Well? Did go? Well? Okay, that's enough of that. Let's
get into the show. If you're willing, if you're able,
and if you're ready right now, topic number one. Over
the weekend, you already know, Hey whoa ufc apex was
back at it warehouse fighting in front of handfuls of people. Hey,
it was a two night Summer Slam weekend. TKO was
very busy. But in that main event, we saw a

(09:25):
flyweight matchup hastily put together at the last minute, but
it did produce somewhat of a breakout performance, if you will,
as Tatsuro Tyra of Japan finishing late replacement. Let me
get this right, high Unsung.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Park, that's the best that I've got for you.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Too, Hien some Park who was supposed to be fighting
Hung Sung Jung Park. Park was supposed to be fighting
Steve Versag a week later. He came on a week early,
and what we got ultimately was the flyweight contender, Tyra
bouncing back from that first pro defeat and that split
decision the war over five rounds against Brandon Royval. What
awesome evolution to his game, some legit evolutions. So, Luke,

(10:03):
what did this performance say about the twenty five year
old prospects standing as a future threat to the title
in this division, Because what he was talking about afterwards
was I want the winner a Van versus Pantosia.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I think we need to be very careful about what
we decide we learned from this performance because it was
up again. I mean, like just we should just be
honest about it, like this fight should not have taken place.
Like I'm not hear me out. Whenever I say that,
people think, oh, you're saying it's it's a bad thing. No,
it's not really a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Well, Amir al Bozi got hurt about a week.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I understand. Yeah, yeah, it was a while ago, I understand.
I mean that would that fight would have been tremendous.
Unfortunately al Bosie, for whatever reason, couldn't make it. But
the reality is, like the fight should not have happened,
Like a fight should have some kind of a point
to it, and in particular, a main event should have
definitely a point to it.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
So should a fight card.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
But this one didn't this, But I mean, that's what
I'm saying, Like they're just it's a light switch. Ufc'
is just on and if the stream happens to be
good at that time, great, If it doesn't, that's also
part of it. It's just on now. It's not really
you know, event punctuated specialty. It's not really what it does.
But the point neither here or there. They tried to
put the main event together very quickly BC and I
think most people are going to say they want the

(11:20):
UFC to go through with that, and so that's what
you're gonna get, and I understand it. And let me
be clear. The Tzaro Tyra looked awesome. I mean, dude,
the reality was he was better than Park everywhere. He
was better on the feet, which I wasn't so sure
was going to be the case. We knew he was
a good chance he was gonna be better on the ground,
and he was way better on the ground too.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
He had double leg where he slamed him into the
post and then picked him up dropped him a second.
He was remarkable.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
He was very good, and in particular the two right
hands that he landed in the first round, one that
rocked him one that knocked him down. There were long range,
they were well timed, they were crisp, they looked good.
But this was an opponent who was simply not on
the level at all, who was not prepared for this
guy at and he got run over. He got absolutely
run over. And it's like Tyra could have done that

(12:05):
one hundred times out of one hundred to this guy,
that's just what it was gonna be. So like, did
the mechanics of the striking that he used to knock
down Park look really good, no question about it overall.
Did he just look dialed in and ready to go
and of a clearly superior class to Park? He absolutely did.

(12:27):
But like, that's telling you what he represents relative to
the middle ish part of the division. It doesn't tell
you much about what he measures up to at the top.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Well, it's hard on one sense, he's twenty five years old,
so you're like, why are we rushing him to the title,
even though he kind of rushed himself in the post
fight interview. But also, there's been a dominant champion on top.
So if Pantosia continues to hold this title through the
Joshua Van fight, you're gonna be looking for fresh meat.
So there is an onus on new talent developing and
showing themselves. But this is where I'm gonna give him

(12:55):
the full credit, and I'm not necessarily saying that park
is a killer who will continue to be in the
top into this division. He had a chance to leap up,
took his chance. Was game. You're right, I got handled
in every category, but specifically the roy vaalp fight. What
did we say coming into or what did I say?
Loved his hunger, loved his chin, loved his willingness, did
not love that he was there to be hit, didn't

(13:16):
move at all. It turned out it was like caveman
fighting right the changes he made from that fight. To
find out afterwards that he went to the boxing gym
and just basically worked on exactly that. You saw that
right away. I know there's not a lot of tape
on this fight. It was around it a quarter, but
you saw him control distance, you saw a move in
his head. You saw the footwork too. Against Royvaal, he
was parked in the middle, ready to brawl to the death.

(13:37):
This was an evolution to his game, which in some
ways would be natural for a twenty five year old.
But I think even with the situation of this fight,
he showed you some real improvement to his game that
I think needs to be taken serious.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I don't dispute that he looked mechanically much more efficient,
but how durable that skill will prove to be an
about meaning how long they will continuously use it? You
cannot tell until they are put under fire with it.
And he could look good against Park, go up against
someone else who drills him right in the face and
he loses composure and or can't maintain the kind of

(14:12):
orderliness that he showed here. It looks good this time.
Please don't misunderstand me. He might, in fact, to your point,
might be able to use it as he moves, I
should say, continues to ascend the ladder at this point.
But all I'm trying to point out to you is
what can you infer from a win over a guy
like Park who is a good fighter but a limited
one and came in on short notice relative to both
timing and opponent. You just have to be honest and

(14:34):
say there's very little you can take from that with certainty.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Were you disappointed the fact that as soon as Park
got touched he was down as soon as he got
taken down the Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
I thought, I thought, I mean, I appreciate that Park
hung in there when he had his back take in
for so long in both the first and at least
part of the second round.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Like, dude, he was trying.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
You know, I give Park didn't lay down, but like,
here's the problem. Like, while I appreciate he didn't lay
down for Tyro, he could do nothing. I mean he
could do nothing to him. He couldn't get off. Again,
what are the levels of fighting? It's survived, defend attack.
He was stuck in survival basically the whole.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Way through Long Island. Luke, would you mind reproducing his
Tyra's famous post fight response to the first question, I'm happy,
dank you? Or was that racist? Because I enjoyed it?
But was it racist?

Speaker 4 (15:26):
What was that?

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Just now?

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I'm happy, thank you? Come on, it's it's his it's
his catchphrase. It's why you know. Bisbee gave a five
minute question if you did this, you did that, you
did that, how'd you do it? I'm happy?

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Right, come on, this is not that. It's not that.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
I couldn't tell if you played a sound clip or
if he was doing like.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
He's an impersonator.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
He was doing like a Master Splinter voice like, oh,
I mean, like you know, it's like, why are we
still doing racist masters?

Speaker 2 (15:53):
We know who the voice of Master Splinter was on
the Ninja Turtle, not an Asian guy, Uncle Phil from Freshman.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah, exactly right. Is that what you do when you
were doing the Master Splinter thing?

Speaker 3 (16:02):
I just played a clip from him. I don't know
what you're talking.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
I mean as well. Look, Tyra was confident after the stoppage, happy,
but he got a little emotional on the walk back
to the locker room. I enjoyed these moments to see
an honest side of them. If you don't mind playing
that video.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
I got that, Yeah, you got that.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
We want that shows me that he's human, that he
had questions about himself coming in there after the loss.

(16:49):
He was just close with val and I like that
little outpouring of emotion. But we also have him talk the.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Win was valuable to Tyra on his own terms, which
it clearly looked like it was. I'm not saying that
that wind has no value for him. Sure, what I'm
trying you're asking me, like, when you watch tape, what
can you infer we can take some things. I just
want folks to make sure it's you know, couched and
limited in the right ways.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yes, casting couch.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
I got it, Tyron about casting couches.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Tyra also went on to explain why he was so
happy with this victory.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
Let's listen, thank you so much. I'm feeling great.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
I'm happy, thank you.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
I was thinking, I'm back here in the octagon and
finally can fight. I'm just gonna trust myself and show
my best. I really wanted to come back strong and
show that I'm stronger now. I had the best training
ever and I was able to show that on the octagon.
So on path, I'm so happy. Yeah, I just say
in the first round, I did see some opportunities that

(17:48):
could go to but I have the confidence that I'm
the best in the flyweight, so I keep saying I
hadn't I didn't need to do USh at all, and
that's how I went for the first round and also
the second round. Back chokes definitely one of my strength.
I'm so much use doing it. Even in that angle,
I know with my power and strength that that guy's

(18:11):
gonna tap I. I kind of knew that whatever the
opponent is, my job is to show my strength, whether
that's top ten, top five, whoever that is, whoever UFC
is gonna bring me, to bring me for the next fight.
I'm ready to fight that person and show my strength.
Oh yeah, obviously it was my turn to teach. I

(18:37):
think I was able to teach.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Yeah, he taught that ship. Would you say that catchphrases
like one of the better ones in UFC right now.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
It's certainly superior to chiwe Wi's.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Because when they show it in a when they show
it in like a medley of all the ones in
a row, it's pretty hilarious. Yeah, pretty well done.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Well, it's also sweet. It's like very Japanese, you know,
it's kind and it's like.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Very cool.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Would you say his versus like, you know, suck my dick?

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Would you say his uh jesuits?

Speaker 8 (19:04):
Is?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
It's very good? It's war Is it title? World class
in this division?

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Ooh, it's not as physical as and I don't think
it's as well suited for MMA just yet as Pantojaes.
But and to your point, he's twenty five. I know, Ahali,
like give him a little bit of time and.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
If he made this leap from that last fight.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Then I will say for twenty five, this is what
a championship guy would look like at twenty five in
terms of the ground game. That doesn't mean he's ready
for it, but I'm saying, like, imagine he was ready
at thirty, you'd be right here at twenty five.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Yes to the victor goes the spoils. Here was his
post fight takedown meal, and he's enjoying the shit out
of that.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Look, what is your favorite way to eat ice cream?
This is a big debate in my house. So for example,
are you a cone or a cup?

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Guy?

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Mm?

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Okay, if I'm out ordering, so let me, let me,
let me, let me, let me stipulate.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Not a restaurant you're at like it's I think it's
a ice cream stand. Yeah, stand auto waffle cone, No
question about it.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
No no sprinkles, no nuts or anything. Just give me
waffle cone. Give me two flavors. Usually I like them
to be very contrasting, because you know they'll meet in
the middle and they'll each other. Oh the best, uh,
the best ice cream flavor ever is black raspberry. And
then I usually mix that with some form of chocolate
something else, you know, what I'm saying, like a chocolate

(20:21):
peanut butter or something like that. And but at home
always cup and I get the smallest spoon possible. I get,
like the the tiny measuring spoon. That's like, that's small
because then you can really delay, savor it and almost
make love to it.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
If yeah, my whole family or is a Cone family
except me? I'm a cup guy.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yeah, yeah, okay, that's interesting. Yeah, I like, I like,
do you need two girls with that? Or are you
fine with this cup kind? Look, he's inserting himself into
the title picture, and given the fact again that there's
a dominant champion on top, literally the door might open
up for him to get it sooner than later. Opportunity.
Here is Tyra explaining why he believes he can compete

(21:01):
with and defeat the winner of Pantosia against.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Joshua Van And you made the case, say you want
the title shot next?

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Tell us why make the case for yourself?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Argue why you deserve to be next for the winner
of the Flyway titles.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Shot, I could say one hundred percent, my skill is
higher than the champion.

Speaker 9 (21:19):
Versus Von fight will be approximately November December, so the
next title fight will be around spring, So are you
ready to be without fights till spring On the next year, I.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Would hope my wish would be to have a fight
on the same card as an undercard.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
So look that that journalist brought up a good point
that with this championship fight coming in the fall, it
would push you off until next year. So who would
be the correct opponent for Tatsuro Tyra coming off of
this victory here?

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I mean, the problem with this win is not that
it was again Tyra. If you don't have to keep
explaining it, we get it. We get what I'm saying
is where does it put him him? Does it really
expedite him up the food chain? It does to the
in the scenario that you raised that there's no one
else but this point I'm trying to make if Albazi
can be returned to action, still a good fight, It's

(22:12):
still an important fight. Actually, I think that's the kind
of test Whe're like, Okay, you beat a guy like that,
we can really infer something from it. So to me,
it's like, is al Bazi still available? Can you can
you book that within a reasonable time frame? If so,
I think you go right back to it.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Unfortunately, it can't be Mohammed Mokaya. Could it be Kaya
Sakura or no? Because he's coming, so.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
They wanted Esacora, but that would they do that tim
Elliott in like two weeks?

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (22:37):
But even but then the timing works out great. Actually,
if Asakura wins, you could do it. But would he
wants to do it initially in Japan. I don't know
if the UFC has any intention of going back Thomas
super Yeah to Japan this year or certainly even next year.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
I don't. I don't really know where that stands. Maybe
if Japan ponies up the Baku Azerbaijan type site female.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Listen instead, we'll probably get it in Bangladesh before we
get it in Japan.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
But you get the idea UFC cambody is gonna be fire.
Believe that. Uh he says he's more skilled than the champion.
I know you don't believe that, but let's posit a scenario.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Tyra said he's more skilled than Pantosia. Yeah he's not.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Let's let's create a scenario where somebody got sick ahead
of this fight Van versus Pantosia and he had to
step in. How do you like right now? Tyris chances
against either of those gentlemen at the top of the divition.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
All right, So against Van, you would have to imagine
he Van would light him up on the feet, just
the sheer volume. This is what I mean about, Like,
it's very easy to look good striking against Park. But
a guy who can play hurry up offense on you,
that's a little bit different. Like speed chess in the
Park and West Fourth. You know, you gotta know, you
gotta know what you're doing out there with Bobby Fisher.
You'll get hustled fat You ever done it before?

Speaker 2 (23:45):
No, but that guy hates the shaps.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Well not Bobby Fisher's got problems. But I'm saying you
ever played chess in West Fourth? Hell no, dude, they'll
smoke you.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I just learned how to play chess for the first
time ever last year my nephew.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Yeah no, I did a couple of times. Those guys
out in West Fourth didn't know what the fuck they're
Doing's smoke you fast. But the point I'm trying to
make is, you know, you can play chess really well
under a different kind of slower pace. So the question is,
could Tyra get it to the ground and hold it there.
I think he could.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
I don't know enough to.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Win a five round battle and against Pantojo, I'm sorry,
I think he gets run over. I think there's a
level of physicality and certainly understanding of mm A positions meanness, Yeah,
means and relentlessly courageously.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
How was your chess game? By the way, because you're
a thinker, you're in life, you're a thinker.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
In high school. It was pretty good. It's pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Now are you more offensive or defensive? Is that even
a thing? Uh?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah, well it depends if you have the right opens.
There's there's different openings.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
I open is just a poll? Yeah, your ball at
least my junk. And then they, you know, they're like.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
If I put my testicles near the bishop, is that checkmate?

Speaker 2 (24:51):
What if the chef touches the queen? Is that? Uh?
Is that we should?

Speaker 1 (24:55):
We should be fired today?

Speaker 2 (24:56):
That is not good? All right, let's move on. Please?
Can we move on? Yeah? All right? Topic number two?
Look UFCAPEX card on Saturday. On paper, it was bad,
but the argument is did it over deliver from the
standpoint of entering wars, particularly in two back to back
lightweight brawls on the main card, in which both fights

(25:17):
shared Fight of the Night honors. In these TV bangers,
we had Esteban Rieviovich decisioning Elvis Brenner. We also had
Chris Duncan and Matteis Ron Beechski delivering the full Crimson
mask to each other. Both fights shared the honors. As
I said, Luke, which of these two lightweight duels, in
your opinion, was the better fight of the night. Remember

(25:39):
they shared that honors and was MMA Twitter correct and
saying both are Fight of the Year contenders?

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah, They're both are Fight of the Year contenders if
you don't have eyeballs and or you're stupid.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Oh wow, Okay, I will say I watched them for
the first time this morning, and I was underwhelmed in
comparison to the way they were sold to me.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I mean, I don't know how to approach the show
anymore because I don't want to be a booster and
just say nice things for the for like the fuck
of it. But I'm also I don't want to go
out there and you know, be mean for the sport either.
I'm just trying to call balls and strikes as best
I can tell. Here's what I'll say com and I
had a lot of fun in watching. I thought the
round Bechki and Duncan fight was fucking fun as ship and.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
As on commentary, tolerable. I have it so low. I couldn't.
I couldn't tell. Can you show their can you show
their faces? By the way, so you want to.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Be an ultimate, this to me was a brutal, brutal,
fucking slog and I thought, dude, round we should just
talk about him for just yea.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
He looks like Oscar Willis. No one wants to bring
it up. Can you play that one more time? Oh
my god, Willis, isn't it holy Shiit same hairline?

Speaker 1 (26:47):
If like, if Oscar was like a man versus the
what do you think is twink?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
I mean he's nothing by the way he sent he
sent Ben the Bane to hell, even though I loved
myself so he did he did.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
But to finish the point, I loved that fight. I
thought that fight was gutsy as shit. Chris Duncan took
a little bit of time because I saw some folks
being like, oh, thirty twenty seven Duncan, is that unfair?
I didn't think it was unfair. I thought the first
round probably went to round Betchki, Yes, but I thought
it was close.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Well, man, look you had an argument about that first
round that you brought to how did you score it?

Speaker 3 (27:16):
I was saying, I gave it to round Betski. But
the argument for thirty twenty seven is that Duncan lands
that huge elbow that gets the hematoma. Yeah, so he
did cause more damage. I get the judging.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
So my point is I could go either way on it,
and I thought the other two he was just outstriking
a guy who he just kept trying to keep coming forward,
keep coming forward, kept coming forward, and didn't have a
lot of answers. He was getting chewed up that to me,
but was still like getting his licks in and then
he was still finding ways to break through.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
To me.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
That was, you know, fight of the year, I think
is a little strong, but certainly fight of the night
and very very fun. I don't really have anything they
could to say about it other than it was, you know,
it was kind of a sloppy bla blah blah blah blah.
But the Ribovic's fight against Brenner, it was more coordinated,
but it was less fun.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Some defense as opposed to That's the only with the
rom Betsky Dunkin fight and they both sold out, But
there was a caveman fight, and I know there's there's
part of us that we want.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
So there was a caveman fight early, whereas the Rubevics
and the Brenner fight, you know, it kind of the
first round would just kind of medium pace, second round
would be tuned up, and then really it turned the
corner fully in like the last two minutes hi higher pace.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
It was a little more like I enjoyed that a
little bit more.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
I wouldn't say higher skilled. I would say, well, maybe
a little bit higher skilled. There was some adjustments being
made between them, particularly on the Brenner side midway through
that fight. But to me, like who could beat better guys?
Ron Betski can beat better guys than I think Brenner can.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
I think you know what I mean, Like, I just
don't think their fight of the year contenders. I thought
they were very fun TV fights.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Agreed totally, just exactly. I think that's exactly the way
to put it.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
I was saying, I need like a list of all
the fight of the night so far, and then I
can truly rank where it ranks on the year. But
I do think part of the reason everyone's saying fight
of the year is because, like paper, I don't think
anyone was expecting this car to deliver whatsoever. And we
got two really fun fight of the night.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
And there was a couple other fun bets I thought,
and Brenner was good to fun and nothing else.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Would you rather rewatch this Brenner fight or hang out
with Danny Brenner former BELATORP I do like Danny Okay,
thank you me too. I do like he's a new father.
Shout out to that guy. Unfortunately, these if two brawls
back to back in the lightweight division happened in a
closet and no one's there to watch it, did they
actually have it? Let's look at the handfuls of people

(29:33):
that watched the end of this Duncan round Betski fight.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Chris Duncan twenty nine, twenty eight Day Shower Cear.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Oh yeah, I think those are betters. What are we
doing here?

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Those are sports better.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I mean, I'm not going to relitigate the warehouse argument,
but yeah, this is what I mean, dude. It's just
it's like if that's at, if that's at like UFC
Topeka the place is rocking, right?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Oh yeah, like where should it have been?

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Right? Like anywhere else they should have been anywhere. I mean,
it's just overflow. I mean, okay, you know I know
that it's I don't even know what to say, any Okay.
It's more cost effective to do it in their own arena.
And I know they want to expand because they're gonna
do boxing and then they're gonna do jujus, are gonna
do all that. But they used to go for these
level small shows to like the joint at the hard Rock, right,
and it'd be like people crowding the ring in the
cage and it'd be like a fun atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Is the hard Rock still open in Vegas?

Speaker 2 (30:23):
It's now the Veron?

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Is it the Virgin?

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Isn't now the Virgin Hotels?

Speaker 1 (30:26):
I believe the one by mad Men?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, it's one near the Weeds. The
wait mad Men is like the mcdomino.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Sorry it's Medmen.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Did we ever see Bob Aram there after Midnight alone?
Why don't we just tell the story? I think we
already have. But yes, Bob Aram, who has.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Let me tell it? B C And I went to
Medmen one time.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
We were staying. It was after midnight too, it was late.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
No sudden was still out.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
No, this was this was the earliest it could have been.
Was like eleven fifty, you know, eleven thirty. It was
like after a day full of events, all right.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
So we go to Medman, which is like down this
it's off the strip but like perpendicular to it, like
about a mile walker, give or take. And we get
in there and we look over and fucking Bob Aram
is in there, like in this weed store and this
weeed's are. If you never been to med Men, it's
like an apple store where they've got kiosks everywhere and
like stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
He's with his driver in security guard who's former light
heavyweight contendered Derek Carmen.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Right, so I'm just gonna tell him what we did.
This is BC's idea, and he executed it.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
This was right.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
This was near the same time as Bob having the
run in with my Coppinger where he shot the fuck
up y'all lit a'll preck. BC was like, yo, watch this,
and BC goes over to him and goes like, yo, Bob,
we're big fans, and like Bob's eyes when I when
I tell you, they were the most bloodshot eyeballs I've
ever seen in my line.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
He was not there, There was not anyone home at
that time.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
I mean, he was fucking suited out there, all right.
And BC looks at him and goes, yo beat Bob,
Yo fuck my Coppinger, and Bob like can only utter
like this guttural laugh like he's so fucking high.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
We we had a very fun time. Laughter. Ye, so good.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
That was so good.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Uh, we'll talk about the other fights on this card,
but we both know and enjoy Anne Evans, you know,
like I right, Yes, indeed, a former UFC employee and
pioneer in some ways. By the way, he had a
great I thought, a great guest spot on Just Bleed Radio.
You know those donks that he had the JBR, Yeah,
you know, Lazy bed Danger Mouse Sanding. They had like
ninety minutes with him. I somehow stumbled into It's actually

(32:34):
a really interesting list and it's a good storyteller. Here's
a tweet from who tells the Truth. My god, these
are trocious APEX MMA cards WUFC Washed Fighting Championship. The
only same way to remain a fan is to limit
times sunk to eight or nine pay per views a
year only way to remain a fan and retain the
will to live. The little hashtag washed ufc an it

(32:55):
doesn't hide his feelings. We don't have to expand on it.
But is he writers wrong?

Speaker 1 (33:00):
I mean this one when Long Island Lucas like, oh
I did a full card watch along, I'm like, dude,
that can't possibly be maximizing your time. It just cannot
possibly be. Go donate at like your time at like
a animal shelter or the.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Guy like what he likes.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
I'm donating to all the homeless cats, the animals.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
They doesn't matter, they don't. Luke, let me ask you
if the four guys in those lightweight action tilt, who
has the brightest ceiling? Uh? When I hear Estebon, remember
those infomercials of that like Spanish guitarist with like the
long fingernails, they would be like.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
But no, no, no, I think the guy who can
beat the best people right now probably Duncan, but maybe
Ribavics has longer upside in terms off if you expand
the time horizon.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Okay, okay, that's interesting something like that. All right, I
do want to ask you about this man the Argentine Toporia.
He's known as Kevin. Is it pronounced vagen.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
Yes, you see it's pronounced vigen.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
I want to say vae host But there on what
were they saying? There's one more time? This is the trick?

Speaker 1 (34:11):
But I didn't realize this either. Do you know what
they call the letter why in Spanish? The letter why
daddy yankee noriega Greek I they called a Greek igega.
So the why and the double L this is always
going to be a point of contention. A lot of
Spanish speaking countries are gonna say the double L like

(34:32):
the English why the vae hoos? Yeah, or my my
wife is from in Columbia. They're gonna say jejos and
where he is from in Argentina, which is why the
commentary crew was saying it this way. They say the
double L like a so it's a che hoos. That's
that's why they do it that way.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
All right?

Speaker 5 (34:52):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Vaejos went in there in a actually a really tough
bout on paper against a inexperienced Danny Silva and damn
near pitch to shut up. Well, Luke, it's early, he's young,
but he's confident, he's solid, good striking. Are we watching
a potential breakoup performer.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
I do think he looks like Look, he looks like
he's got some of the parts that you really would
care about. First of all, long Isan Luke and I
were talking about this, Danny Silva gave him a tough fight.
I thought Danny Silva came in there prepared, had a
lot of good answers, really slowed down Kevin, particularly in
that first and I'd say halfway through the second round. Now,
as the fight picked up, you know, especially at by

(35:32):
the end of the second you could tell that uh
by jehost was really beginning to put a pace on
him at that point. However, I just want to say,
shouted Danny Silva, who I thought did a pretty commendable job.
Now you're asking about Kevin, what can we learn from that?
My only criticism BC that I could find was he
didn't have quite enough creativity in trying to break through.

(35:57):
He more so went back to the same things that
were getting blocked. But then you know, he would kind
of switch up things a little bit, change the distance
a little bit, change the time a little bit, and
then it began to work a little bit more effectively,
which fine, if it works more effectively. I'm just saying,
you know, if we're going to grade on a high
kind of curve here, I would have liked to have
seen adaptations a little bit quicker. All right, That's all

(36:21):
I'm gonna say. But in general, he had a very
ready opponent who made things a little bit difficult for
him and eventually overcame it, not with a thudding finishing
ko but by methodically kind of finding his space. And
he was clearly the better guy with the town the fire.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
A lot of Argentines on this card, by the way,
a lot of gauchos, and I think vae Jos looks
like an interesting featherweight prospect. I don't know about the
toporia part of it, but here is him talking afterwards about.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
Exactly facing Elia Argentino.

Speaker 7 (36:55):
Is Nwandaio s s n L. Trent guess so, I

(37:21):
k Cassie quite.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Cow so anyone that wasn't uh that was listening to
audio only he he plans on being.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Much better than what he's basically saying is He's like,
you know, I've reached this level at age twenty two.
You know you're looking at the best fighters when they're
twenty eight, twenty nine, even thirty, He's like, wait till
I'm thirty, I'll be better than Ilia.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Wow. Okay. Also thirty seven year old Neil Magne. He
got a second round t KO against el Zu do
Leski do santo.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yeah, it was the unction, but then it was an
unk off.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
He was gifted afterwards for this perform and shout out
Neil Magnie. Let's look at this. What's he in? Is
that a birthday cake right there?

Speaker 4 (37:57):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Yeah, if you know it. Wow? He has black belt
huh yep, joining a very elite attorney that does include
Brandon Schob he.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
He I mean, you're doing get some bits today.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
It's all right, dude's a black belt in jiu jitsu.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
What do you want me to say? But the point
is he did dominate him on the ground. Like you
know what, dude, Neil Magnie.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Is a tough out.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
I'll tell you what, dude, that dude, I mean he
has Really he's a compiler, which is the thing that
you talked about, you know, and that's not the same
as elite achievement, but the fact that he is still
compiling is its own kind of room. I mean, dude,
this is what I'll say about Neil Magni. You can
say anything else, but you cannot deny that motherfucker has

(38:46):
put in the hard yards, has he not? Tim Wright,
He has put in the hard fucking yards.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Thirty wins, thirteen defeats. This got him out of a slump.
You can certainly say that against a higher level competition there,
but the dude has been in the UFC Luke going
back all the way like, I'm still going down his
Wikipedia right now, hold on, I'm still going down. February
of twenty thirteen. He made his debut. That's a long
and you don't linger. Look at Look at Martin Boudet's pouch.

(39:17):
You don't linger unless you're oh wait, he's seven to
one and they cut him.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Read the names of this dude's fuck.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Yeah, I can tell you that every Welter Waitever.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
All right, yeah, all right, hard yards.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
You know. Carlos Prots, Michael Morales, Mike malott I and
Gary Gilbert Burns, d Rod Shavka, Jeff Neil, Max Griffin, Kisa,
Robbie Lawler, Caleb Harrison's former boyfriend, Lee Jingling, Santiago Ponzinibbio,
Carlos Conden, Rda, Johnny Hendrix, Lorenz Larkin, Hector Lombard, Kelvin Gastelam,

(39:52):
Eric Silva, Damian Maya. Yeah, that Tim means all the
way back.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
He's still motivated to go out there and win, and
it's still doing it. Yeah, I'm sorry, dude, that's its
own kind of special achievement to me.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
I like that Long Island. Look. You love undercards. Tell
me something that you enjoyed here. There were two bodykick Kostnya.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
And Nakamura had a nice Knockimora looked sick. Yeah. I
have had a nice win too against Nicklin. I don't
really know if Nick Klin is UFC level, but it's okay.
Austin Boshi got a nice bounce back.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
You know, he looked good. He's still rushing his offense
a little bit, but he definitely looked better this time.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Yeah. I got the first round choke against John Yannis
and dominated.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
But Yannis came in on very short notice, like a
six or seven days, and Bashi ran over him. But nevertheless,
Boshi did everything he was supposed to do, and it
was very you know, appreciative of the opponents stepping in
on short notice. So it was you know, did we
That's what I mean about these fights? Did they need
to happen? They didn't need to happen, but they did.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
You were telling me you were very impressed with Carol Josa.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Did I say that?

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Never? Never said that at all. By the way, folks,

in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall on Friday night, giving
us the championship finals of the welterweight and featherweight tournaments.
But you're looking for a headline, how about Thad Gene
continuing the breakout star turn and becoming one of pfl's
best stories by winning that welterweight tournament, scoring a dominant

(42:39):
five round unanimous decision over former Belator interim champion Logan
Story At eleven and zero, fad Gene is becoming, like
I mentioned, one of the biggest thing PFLs got going
he's got a five hundred thousand dollars cash prize, and
it does gain an entry into pfl's Champions League Tournament
Global Championship Slash. I don't really know what that means,

(43:01):
but hey, let's talk about the good stuff right now, Luke,
where should that Genes right now rank on pfl's current
roster in terms of the fighters that they need to
build the company around. I'm talking about matchmaking and marketing
with real intention moving forward. How valuable to PFL is
that Gene after this season?

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Critical?

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Critical?

Speaker 1 (43:24):
That Gene is a success story for PFL. Not really
because he's likable and he wins, But as we mentioned,
this was a guy that fought on the challenger's card.
They scouted him, they found him, they developed him, they
put him through the tournament. He did his part, and
now look at the consequence. He is young, he's exciting,
he likes to fight on the feet. He's got a

(43:45):
great story too. He's huge as a welter ate. I
cannot believe how big he is, which, by the way,
will makes some interesting issues if PFL survives a little
while longer and he continues to perform, Like, how much
longer does he have time at I don't know the
answer to that. Sure, certainly right now he is that
guy English speaking, I mean, Shamille Mussaiev is one of

(44:05):
these guys that you would imagine would be, you know,
the one that he wants, and I think he in
fact did call him out afterwards, and it's a really,
really difficult fight. Mussaia is a fun guy to have
on your roster because he provides quality, but he's not
going to electrify the American market anytime soon. I mean,
this is the thing about PFL. We've talked about it.
They don't have a domestic fan base. They don't have one.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
And it's because of their system and format.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
In my paper, there's many reasons. There's many reasons. That's
a big contributor. But one of the ways in which
they could, I don't know, solve the problem but make
certainly some inroads is to feature more guys like this.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Now.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
I don't know if he's ready to beat musaiav BC.
It's a you know, Store is a very good opponent.
Musaia is a different level. But the point I wanted
to make is this was such a great night for him.
It's a very good night. For PFL, what they need
to do is like, and this is the thing that
drives me nuts.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
They need to.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Promotionally build around him, not build things and then plug
fighters in. I know UFC does that and gets away
with it. They're not UFC. You need to do it
the much more organic way. But you've got something now,
you got really a person you can build around. Dakota
ditchivus something similar for the UK well, although you can
build her here too.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Well, let me ask you where his stock ranks when
you consider Okay, let some people go that I thought
they should have built around p CO et cetera. But
you got Dakota Ditchva, you got Usmann and Maghamedov, you
got Paul Hughes. How important is that gene compared to
those in terms of what PFL can do with a
moving forward.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
I mean, I just think the Paul Hughes thing is
not a reasonable comparison, because this is stat's first real breakout,
whereas Paul Hughes kind of had one. Paul Hughes was
not anonymous when he signed to PFL. He had already
made a name for himself in the European regional scene
or international scene with Cage Warriors, and then was a
proven guy who could have gone to UFC or PFL

(45:53):
chows PFL, whereas that gene for some people just kind
of came out of nowhere. It's a very very different
way when the.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
Subleague for PFL challengers Challengers.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Okay, so what we're trying to point out is that's
got a little bit of work to do promotionally to
be even close to Paul Hughes. To be quite honest
with you, there is just some proving that has to
go into it. However, however, these young stars all in
their twenties. Ditch of Us, I think he was still
in his twenties, and then certainly that genius. This is
these kinds of names are the core names that they

(46:23):
now need to promotionally put resources into back and then
feature rather than we're gonna go to Cape Town. Just
plug in your fucking stupid ass right there.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
That's what has to happen. And this is where I
keep harping on the format because this was such a
breakout performance. Can say proven name in story that even
though they gave him a belt afterwards, it was the
championship belt of their welterweight tournament. I wish this crowned
him as the PFL welterweight champion, because the next thing
you'd say is, oh, who's next in line? I want
to see him again, let's go instead, What does it
really make him and makes some sort of the PFL

(46:52):
America's season champion and now he goes to the Global
Champions League and fights people from other PFL territories. It's
like that just.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Won the champions legal.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
That just waters down how big of a breakthrough story
I think he was to them and what he should
be like. That's the problem I have with this that
they this was on ESPN like this was an exciting
fight card. I thought the presentation was great. I like
Dan Hardy's fantastic on commentary. There's a lot I liked
about it. I wish this was even bigger than it was.
Let's show Gene coming out of the cage there. I

(47:30):
can see his tournament title there, the crowd very very
happy to see him and certainly a breakthrough moment. And
speaking of the value he brings. I like that they're
using a friend of the show, Jonathan Coachman, as a mouthpiece.
Here's coach after the fact talking about the value that
Gene does bring to the company.

Speaker 10 (47:46):
Any fighter in the history of combat sports has to
have those fights, in those performances that take him to
that next level, and you have to be able to
pass those tests, uh, in order to be seen as
a star. And we believe here at the PFL that
we need to find our own fighters, grow our own fighters,
and make stars out of our own fighters, and that
Gene is one of those guys that we absolutely believe in.

(48:09):
And tonight he put on a spectacular performance for a
guy that is so young. He told me on Wednesday,
walked right up to me and he says, Coach, I'm
in the best shape of my entire life, and everybody
thinks that I'm going to get taken into the fourth
and fifth round and I'm going to be tired.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
And did he get a little bit tired. Who wouldn't.

Speaker 10 (48:25):
But he was still able to throw quick jabs, he
was still able to pretty much on the feat dominate
the fight, and he really had a great I think
ground game and defense against Logan Story, who's an unbelievable
grappler as well.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
So shout out, we still have six more to go.

Speaker 10 (48:40):
We'll get to those a little bit, But I think
tonight was a great start to our World tournament final.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
So Luke, let's talk about this fight. He did go
five rounds, he did lose the fourth round on all
three judges scorecards. But I am so impressed striking the
variety of it. I mean, he could he I almost
felt like story was looking close to getting stopped a
couple of times like it. But it was just such
an overall dominant performance when you take into account the
takedown defense, because it wasn't just stuffing the takedowns of

(49:07):
a proven grappler who you knew was coming in there
to take you down. He was reversing that into top
position a few times too. Like he just looked bigger, stronger, smarter,
better variety of game. Where do you think the holes
are moving forward? If there are any, because this to
me showed, yeah, this guy's world class.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
So a couple of things. I mean, he definitely did
look really good in the wrestling. His scrambling looked great.
I do wonder if a Jason Jackson with a second
chance might have a little bit more success with him
on like second order. It was a sweet decision, was
close f Yeah, like a second order kind of thing
like you can tighten up some of the differences to
account for them. So in other words, that gene doesn't

(49:46):
have quite what I would call instinctual takedown defense. Yet
it's very good. It's reactive, it's please don't misunderstanding, it's
very good. But against someone who can chain them together
more nimbly, it does not look yet to me like
the kind that's got ready for all those answers. But
but it was certainly plenty for him on Friday night.
The other part two is the way in which he
kind of has a loose, hands down approach. Someone's gonna

(50:09):
pop him for that, someone with a good job is
gonna really saying like he's he's like he gets here
and he moves his hands like this, like like he's
trying to shake a booger off of them, and and there,
and even if he wasn't, even if they were still,
they'd be right about here.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
You know.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
I find that like that style of he's good at
moving his head, which is why, but like you know,
Storly is not the guy to test that through combination.
So again you have to think about how does their
style match up obviously against the person that they're up against.
But also like you know, what are the limits to that?
So he's obviously got a ton of ability, but to me,
like on the to me, it's more about like where

(50:46):
the defensive vulnerabilities are for him and they're not huge,
but against a guy like Mousaiav they could be right.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
But you were saying, you were watching what the PFL
post show and they brought up his family? What was that?
I brought it had?

Speaker 1 (51:01):
He had his whole supporter crew there and begins a
from Haiti, from Haiti. They brought him out, They brought
his whole family out and like just hearing the family
celebrate and shure they were this was the biggest day
of their lives. I don't know, seemed like in a
long time. They were over the moon for their guys.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Just nice to see, you know, it's nice to see
that now. Luke was Geffney Jim Pierre former you know,
technical director of this show and friend of the main card.
Minute was he just on fire after this?

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah, he was live for it. He was loving it.
He also put in the Haitian parlay that Gene and
Neil Magney cash.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
That's oh wow, I should have got andre Berto in
there for like a triple parlay. Got a fight though, Yeah,
there you go, there you go. Big win for teber No.
I'm saying he would have to have a fight coming up.
Shout out andre Berto. Big win in the main event.
Big win for PFL. Also though that cole main event
the featherweight tournament final on beat in movlid. Habu Laiev,

(51:53):
the twenty twenty one PFL Featherweight Tournament champion, became a
two time champion when he submitted hot Jesus Panato in
round five. Now with a twenty four oho to one record,
Habib Dermaga metof in his corner, Luke, holy crap. First
of all, this fight was killer fun. Despite Hobby Live

(52:15):
taking him down at will when they were on the feet,
they both landed some big strikes. How much is the
MMA world though, sleeping on the thirty five year old
Haabu Layav when you consider I know he had a
ped test that he failed in recent years. I know
he lost a fight to Daniel Pineda by TKO, but
it was overruled when Paneda failed the drug test himself.
Outside of that twenty four oh to one, got Habib

(52:36):
in his corner and does fight in a habib light style.
That's pretty damn impressive. Would you say people are sleeping
on him or would you say he's kind of just
starting to really put it together right here.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
That's a weird one, right because he was starting to
put it together earlier and then had some hiccups in
his career, and then, as we indicated, he kind of,
I won't say, limped to the finish line here of
getting the Panato fight, But his run through the tourney
to get to the Panato fight was not nearly as
interesting or fun as Panato's run, which we had talked
about quite a bit, however, and then they got there
and the wrestling difference was significant enough where he was

(53:07):
able to get the win, although there were times BC
he was getting lit up on the feet by Pinato
who could not manage his own attack, but nevertheless was
able to get through at times. I mean, I'm not
sure how I feel about mobild Like, on the one hand,
he clearly is a winner, and he clearly has this
skill set where you just look at that division and
at PFL and you think yourself, who could reasonably if

(53:28):
Pinato can't take it from him? Who could, and I
don't have an answer for you. At the same time,
I do not see him as so overwhelming and inevitable
as I've seen other top grapplers.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
Why his busy top game and he's constantly adjusting and
keeping you down? Are you saying this is more of
the deficiencies and the takedown and the grappling ability of.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Being busy on top? Doesn't tell me much. I don't
really care about that. I care about what kind of
change you can effectuate, and he wasn't really all that
great at doing that.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
I was Can you show the picture of Habibi? I
was impressed to see a Habiba influence in the corner
and the pride to be pad in him. Yeah. From
that Abdulman app coaching tree. I don't know. Two time
champions still unbeaten. He's a problem to do with.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
You're asking me where would I rank him in the
UFC's heavyweight or heavyweight or would irk him in the
UFC's featherweight division. Who could he beat? Could he beat
Brian or Taga? Probably probably yes? Could he beat Yayi Rodriguez?

Speaker 2 (54:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
Sure he's still out on that five round fight. I'm
not sure how it feel about.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
Any beat Kevin Vaejos right now?

Speaker 1 (54:28):
Yeah, probably, But you know, like, would I favor him
to beat Diego Lopez?

Speaker 2 (54:34):
No, I would not. I would not favor him.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
I think Lopez's guard and play underneath would be a
bit of a problem for him.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
But you would say, Hoblive is coming into his own
at thirty four, like this is We're starting to see
the best of him.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
And I thought this was a the best. This was
the best performance he had in the entire tournament. Honestly,
you could maybe make a case outside of the Kennedy
fight that he had a better performance. But I'm trying
to say is given the quality of opposition, and frankly
that you know, Pinato is dangerou and fucking relentless in
a few moments, had some scary moments in there, for sure.

(55:05):
So for that reason, hubble Live's performance here was the
best he's had actually quite some time. It's just in
the whole group of it. Am I fully overwhelmed, No,
not fully, But he's a quality, solid fighter.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Hob Live was the underdog from a betting standpoint, here
is he He's talking about that, along with the impact
of Kochabib movely.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
You're a twenty twenty five World Tournament champion.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
Pernato was favored, though, did you expect to win in
such dominant fashion? It's just.

Speaker 3 (55:46):
No.

Speaker 11 (55:46):
Yeah, I knew that it's not gonna be easy for him.
I don't know why people thought that he's going to
be a favorite one, because you know, I've been doing
this for years and uh I proved it once again
that I'm the best.

Speaker 3 (55:57):
How much of an advantage was it to have Habi
in your corner.

Speaker 6 (56:03):
Habiba Periode said when he missed the.

Speaker 7 (56:20):
Watching.

Speaker 11 (56:23):
Yes, it's very important to have k in my corner.
We've been together since twenty eleven. We've been on the
same card, actually back in twenty eleven, and since then
we've been together. He's my brother, he's my coach. Uh So, yeah,
he always gives right advices, gets critical congratulations.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
You're a World Tournament champion.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
Foreign villain in the movie right there, like he's got
that look down he does.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
He's a little he's a little too short for it though.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
Yeah, that's a good point. Look on this undercard. These
were the only tournament championship fights. A bunch of other fights,
but there was some controversy that came out of this
prelim fight where Frederick Dupras choked out Nathan Kelly unconscious.
But the female referee I was only able to get
her name, did not stop it in time, and you
had a lot of people calling for her removal. What

(57:08):
did you make of this?

Speaker 1 (57:09):
There's the tap, Yeah, there's the tap. She's on the
wrong side to see it.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
And this dude's just getting choked to death. Hold on,
and then finally she's like, wait, I think he's out.

Speaker 1 (57:20):
Yeah, I mean it's not great. I've definitely seen worse.
It's not great. It's not great. She she did not
do a great job. She's on the wrong side of it.
But just understand, like, oh, there was a mass of
I know, no one wants to hear this.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
Sure, I'm in m m A.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Whenever there is a vast condemnatory attitude towards any kind
of woman in power, I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm
saying I'm gonna double check.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
Oh, this is one of those like.

Speaker 1 (57:50):
I'm going to double in a double check. So in
this particular case, she's no, no, let me go back up.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
Let's just go back. Why are you making that face?
I don't. I didn't think this was going to be
your analysis.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
No, no, I'm not. My analysis is if you notice,
when the highlight starts, he taps on one side, she's
on the wrong side. She did a bad job. The
argument is not that she did a good job. She
did a bad job. I'm saying to you. My instinct is,
oh yeah, soccer mom is out.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
Here as somebody throw a Dilo dough on the WNBA.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
Let me let me double check the tape, is my attitude.
And I double check the tape and it's not great
like she does.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
She did it.

Speaker 1 (58:25):
She did a bad job. I've definitely seen worse. But
here's the problem, like, where where was this one? This
was in Atlantic City?

Speaker 2 (58:31):
Yes, now, New.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
Jersey typically has better referees. She may have she made
a mistake. She made a mistake. There's no other way
to say she made a mistake. So I don't know
what the.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
Full Have you seen her before, I've never seen her before.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
Now tip I'm gonna say this. Whenever they go to
Florida or Arizona or whatever, you might see some of
the junior level refs, not your herb deans or whoever,
Unlike the mid and then prelim card and so I
think it's what you got here. They were trying to
work it out, but it didn't really work out in
the favor this time.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
So I got you, I got youa uh, he lived.
So that's a good thing. Don't you go dyeing al
all right? That was your PFL recap over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
Jordan Newman, Oh you who we spotlet on Friday? The
D three National champ What college?

Speaker 4 (59:18):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (59:19):
I think the University of Wisconsin Whitewater or something like that. So, dude,
fight opens. He's got this big, hulking guy in front
of him who's just marching him down. Drops him, I
think with it straight straight punch. I forget which one was,
could have even been a jab, but drops him and
Newman like covers up and I'm like, oh, this guy's
about to lose, about to get his his O taken,
hangs on, hangs on, hangs on, reverses everything. Then he's

(59:44):
the one dealing, beats the shit out of the guy,
makes it to the end of the round. The round
two is about to start and his opponent refuses to
get off the stool.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Jordan not human Newman. That's a great nickname, damn, such
a great nickname.

Speaker 1 (59:57):
Right now, he's got some stuff to work on. He's
still a little green, but the resiliency that he showed
in that fight woo very very good.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
That's a name to watch. Moving forward, uh luke. Moving forward.
We're in the midst of the dog days of summer,
so we're talking about swamp ass. We're talking about you
don't want to be the smelly guy in your friend group.
We're talking about more sweat, more heat, and more stink potential.
The good news though, is you've got a chance to
be ahead of the game and be ready for this. Yeah,

(01:00:28):
we're talking about Mando right now. Because if there's one
thing I am not messing around with this summer, whether
I hanging with the guys or out with the family,
and that's my deodorant. So I go, I reach for
Mando's deodorant plus sweat control, and I do it for
one or actually multiple reasons. How about first of all,
blocks oder all day long. It controls your sweat too.

really good too. It's not your typical drug store stick.

I wouldn't lie to you when you're grilling in ninety
degree weather like I was yesterday when I ran out
of propane and had to run to the store mid grill,
or I'm chasing my kids around, or I'm trying to

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
Well you have to because otherwise you will smell like
a hot dog farm.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Exact thing exists, like the side of the road in
Pennsylvania when that eighteen wheeler went down, like roadkill. Glizzies everywhere.
It was a Glizzy.

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
Factory all in the street. And Mando's gonna help you.
It's gonna help you guys. It's gonna help be c

let it, you let it into your heart. But well,

or pro sport. You can do stuff where you can
do sticks, you can do different kinds of applicators.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
There's creamy, there's.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Creams, and they have one, by the way, for certain
kinds of cleaning products. They have four and ones that
you can have if.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
It's date not to go with the spray by the way.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Fair enough, But this is the point. It's it's the
it's the how did you say, it's the it's modularity.
You can use it in a particular way that's designed
for you, or BC can do the same, and it's
all different tailored ways according to your cleanliness needs and
your preferred ways of applying it, all with high quality stuff.

feel good. All right, thank you, Mando. Look here's what
we're gonna do. We're gonna kill time Luke. We're gonna
bring back a segment we used to do back in
the day, looking at the latest headlines, forcing Luke Thomas
into the hot seat to give us not a Luke
Thomas because you know what Luke Thomas normally does. He

(01:03:51):
either gives us no answer or he gives us seventeen answers.
I want one answer, I got one.

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
I got someone tweeting me about this. The ref missing
Gai Chees tap to Habib was worse than this lady's refereeing.
The outrage then was not as bad. You're completely right, Luke.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
I mean Alistair did feel it also. Okay, this one's
called fill in the blank. Yeah, alright, nice opening animation there.
We didn't save that from the showtime era. Luke, I've
got eight questions for you, eight statements, and you are
going to have to fill in the blank based on
your preference. Number one, known forever as the let Me

(01:04:30):
Bang bro man. You know that guy, right. Former UFC
fighter Julian Lane reached a career milestone on Saturday at
BKFC Sturgis when the thirty eight year old captured the
promotion's welterweight title, improving to six and oh since the
death of his father, which he would say later changed
the direction of his career, and snapped a six fight
losing skid, combining MMA with other various disciplines. Of course, though, Luke,

(01:04:53):
he's going to be forever known for this.

Speaker 12 (01:04:55):
Big bang man I want to do with that man.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Brothers in college, just let me bang bro. Look. Obviously,
congratulations to Julian Lane. But that's an all time one
liner and UFC history that still lingers today. So from
I back trust Me, I back to who the fuck
is this guy? There have been many of those incredible
one liners. The single one liner from UFC history that
most lives rent free in your head.

Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
Is blank, Everybody's on steroids.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
What was the context of that?

Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
So I believe this one was after he got a
five year band from Marijuana for.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
No komotive, did that interview cell phone outside the courthouse, and.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
He was like, everybody's on steroids, and it was one
of those ones where it's just like, I don't know
for some reason that moment in time, I'm really stuck
with me. But dude, you could, I mean, to the
point you raised about this question, there's a million.

Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Well I'm I'm a I back trust me.

Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
So I used to joke because that was obviously between
the when he broke his leg and then it was
I used to joke on my show I'm going to
be on I back.

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
That's how I used to say that Long Island Looke.
Do you have one favorite that defines you?

Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
I don't have one favorite, but I got a few
lists here. I mean Chris Wideman's dad, he's still my boy. Yeah,
that's a class.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Even the other Nate Diaz, well, the other Das brother,
which is I'm not surprised, motherfucker. I mean that one.
In terms of post fight Rogan speeches, that might be
number one.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Oh so you're a wrestler, now, isn't that Nate as well?

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
Yeah, but that might have been pre fight that.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
When him and ver Doom got into that altercation, He's like,
hold on, I'm talking, brother, that's a that's a ankle pick.

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Yes, that is great moments there, and you see history.
Let's go to number two here, Luke. Three days after
my forty seventh birthday and eight days before you turn
forty six. Tomara. By the way, Connecticut born multi millionaire
and Brendan chaub Eskimo brother Dana White turned fifty six
last week, which was an age that White probably never

(01:07:17):
would have made it to without meeting that renowned medical shaman, Gary.

Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
Breck, who has no medical training whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
In fact, here's an AI version of what dana birthday
party probably looked like. There we go, yep, happy, Happy, Happy, Luke.
Imagine a scenario in which you want a Howlerheader and
Power Slap sponsored fan giveaway where you were allowed to
ask Dana White one single question anything you always wanted

(01:07:44):
to know, and not only would he be forced to
give you an answer off camera, you would be allowed
to make one single YouTube video on your channel to
relay to the public what he said. The one question
you have for Dana White above all else is blank,
and he has to tell the truth.

Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
What is the plan for selling the UFC?

Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Really, all the history before you're gonna go with, what's
your future plan of.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Some Yeah, I mean none of that stuff matters to
me anymore. Well, not matters to me, But I wouldn't
want to.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
I don't have.

Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
I don't have Honestly, dude, after the big lawsuit, like,
there's not much to me that is all that interesting
in terms of what's been concealed. OK, to me, the
biggest question is are y'all planning to sell this thing?
And if so, when interesting? Because if they because but
by the way, let's just say it out loud, it's
completely a rumor mill thing. But one of the rumors

(01:08:34):
going around today is that they might be trying to
gear up for a sale of the UFC or various
other TKO assets, and in particular to the Saudis.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Or the or the ue or UEE.

Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
So let's imagine a world where in four years they
sell to Saudi Arabia.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
That's a big money in India.

Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Uh yeah, what they sell it? I mean, I guess
who knows?

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Who know? Who knows? What?

Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
Directtion to me? It would be that I honestly like,
what about the past? Why what I need to interrogate,
you know, more forcefully? And it's just one like one
doesn't do me a lot of good.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Long look you gotta. I mean, if you could ask
one frickin thing and he's gonna tell you the damn
truth on it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Yeah, like one concealed fact, what would yours be?

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Then?

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
Trying to think, I'm like, what was in Abu a
Zeitar's bag on fight island.

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Scale on the wall and ship?

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
It's an interesting one right there. I don't know if
I can say it on it. I have like like
distinct questions. Okay, all right, but.

Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
For me at this point, I'm I'm less interested in
trying to relitigate the past. I think I have a pretty
good handle on it. It's a question about wherever things headed.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
That's okay, that is interesting. I would want to know that.
Let's go to number three here on filling the blank.
Speaking of Dana and the UFC, so much of Combat
Sports immediate future continues to uh wait upon the results
of UFC's current negotiation with whatever broadcast package will look
like in the post ESPN world. So from the standpoint

(01:10:03):
of bringing necessary change to the current watered down existence
of the UFC and the TKO era, the best scenario
for fans regarding UFC's next broadcast deal would be blink.
Given everything we complain about on this show over the

(01:10:24):
last year and a half, where is it multiple homes?
What is the best scenario that could relight reignite the
UFC In your.

Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
Eyes, Netflix demanding large scale events and then paying to
produce them in such a way that they looked like
to the borrow from terminology of Scott Coker tent pole events. Okay, now,
I know what you might say, aren't pay per views
existing tent pole events, But what I'm saying to you
is yes, on some level, of course they are. But

(01:10:55):
something a little bit beyond that BC or something a
little bit maybe even different, even.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
If it isn't as big, just something that.

Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
Recaptures casual sports fan enthusiasm by putting more of a
white glove treatment on it. Something, you know, how like
they like the white glove and bespoke treatment on their
own legislation that they want to get. Yes, they should
do that to their own products.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
So are you saying signing up which is a reality
potentially with Netflix for like six premiere pay per view
events each.

Speaker 1 (01:11:24):
Year, something like that. Yeah, something, let's put really good
events in someone else's hands for the first time. Now
I understand you ull see controls of their own production,
but certainly the whole point of going to Netflix, I'm imagining,
would be something not just the scale of the audience
you could reach, but the way in which Netflix might
want so for example, Netflix and I didn't really understand

(01:11:46):
this until recently, but Netflix has like a consistent look
that they like for their programming. And obviously NFL can't
look like UFC like Jake Paul fighting Mike Tyson, but
there can be some some similarity. And what we saw
at that last fight between Serrano and Tablas, of.

Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
People that worked on the production side of that, they
said that Netflix spent a ridiculous amount of money to
make it look that good with every single bell and
whistle possible. Put that into UFC. That's what I'm talking about,
or that doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
I don't give a shit. Okay, that kind of and
it's not just a money. It's not just the money.
It's like someone with a different eye, bring it all in,
make make it new, make it I.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
Love that, particularly because one of my biggest scripes in
the last year and a half was UFC took cards
that used to be majors, that used to be like,
oh shit, we're gonna get really good main cards or
really big main events when it's MSG or when it's
this or that. Pick what you thought the majors used
to be. That's changed now now, Like I mean, whether
it was three hundred, whether it was the Sphere, they
caught it sort of like backdoored into the matchmaking of

(01:12:45):
whatever was available at the moment, and they seemed largely unprepared,
Like it wasn't like, oh, we've got the Sphere in
six months, let's get the most badass Maine and Cole
Maine to pair with this, It was sort of like, well,
who's up? Okay, Shiftchenko, you know what I mean? It
was like random, same thing with UFC three hundred, same
thing with a few of those. If it was Netflix
basically saying we only want your best of the best,
then they have to change the way they match, make

(01:13:07):
from a dip from a from a long range point
of view, great and really focus on that. You also
could have said, as an alternate answer, less less total
fight cards.

Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
Yes, I mean I don't know how realistic. That is
just the way which the people think you can just
do less. You would have to trim the roster. Okay,
there's just no other way to trim it, to do
it without trimming the roster subsequently, and then I think
that has some pretty big consequences for the industry.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
So ess one of the options was burn the APEX down.

Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
I don't think you would want to do that. I mean,
I realized that it's spiritually it is so devoid of
any kind of value, but I don't think that's a
wise idea. What I would say, though, is you know,
mandate like Tier two products should go there. Yeah, Contender
Series should go there, UFCBJJ should go there. UFC should

(01:13:55):
only go there in the event of an emergency. Other than that,
they should be.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Some like if John Jones fills a drug test in
one jurisdiction and you want to move the car dur
right to the Apex, I'm with you on that. Let's
go to number four on Phil in the Blank, Logan
Paul on Saturday Night delivered the oh shit moment of
the night during Night one of WWE SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium,
jumping off the top of the ring post to splash

(01:14:20):
entertainer Jelly Roll through the table in the midst of
their celebrity crossover match right there. I mean, that was
very impressive. Was that? Not with the two prime bottles?
Did you see? Do you see how high in Halfari jump? Seriously,
he is a good athlete, He's an insane athlete. Luke.
We all know that Luke Thomas de test pro wrestling,

(01:14:40):
and we all know that I love the genre at times,
but certainly not during this TKO infested greed era that
is also watered down the UFC and has the potential
to do the same thing to my beloved boxing. Notwithstanding
With that said, it would be really hard for someone
like you born in nineteen seventy nine to go all
forty six years without having a sing wrestling match stand

(01:15:01):
out to you in any form. The most memorable single
pro wrestling match of Luke Thomas's entire lifetime was blank.

Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
Uh, Macho Man Randy Savage versus Ricky the Dragon, Steaming
dude wrestling.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
He had three in championship.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
That's a great match. That's that's my answer to that's.

Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
Really it's it's one or the other. It's either Hogan
Andre which was the main event of that one, because
it was just so insane. It was such a bit
for a little you know, for a lot, it was
so big, but it was the Macho Man steamboat one
with all of those false finishes right, all those near
pins one after another, and such a great story. That
was the first time I felt something different in a
wrestling match watching it, like holy.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
Shit, that I had forgotten about it for a while,
and then somebody reminded of me a few years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Dude, I thought you were gonna give a bullshit answer this.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
Is And I went back and I watched parts of
it and I was like, holy shit, this thing was
pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
It was way ahead his time. That match was less
than fifteen minutes, and it was just so insane.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Perfect, that's insane. What about you, Long Island.

Speaker 3 (01:16:01):
I'm like you, Luke where I like only remember it
really as a kid. I'm gonna go uh Mankind getting
like slammed through the gag. I remember, I don't remember
in the.

Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
Cell against Undertaker.

Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
So McK foley was like ten different.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Guys he was. Wait, so his real name is McK foley.
I know he was practice jack Mankind and dude Love
and he would alternate sometimes in the same night.

Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
Different fun fact. McK foley used to work with my dad.
Where so my dad's a landscape architect. Mick Foley early
days of pro wrestling, was a landscaper on the side
and worked with my dad. I met her back in
the day.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Oh yeah, that's wild. All right. Well, I'm so happy
you said that. That match is just I wrote in
a five thousand word in oral history, interviewed everyone that
was still Yeah, that's wild, all right? Great answer number
five here out of eight fill in the blanks. Canel
Lavas was asked this week by the Ring magazine Social
account to speak up the first boxer's name. He hears

(01:16:58):
that his September thirteen opponent Terrence Crawford is better than,
so they're going to read him a bunch of names
of all time fighters. And as soon as he hears
somebody that Crawford's better than, he speaks up. Let's let's let's.

Speaker 8 (01:17:10):
Check Felix, Trinidad, Oscar Delay, Nanny Pakia, Dimitri Bubo, Arthur Better,
look at Faith Bernard Hopkins.

Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Well, dude, these names are no damn, you don't think
they're like damn?

Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
Really, did you not understand the question? No, that's well,
that's stipending. Those are all great, all time greats.

Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
Okay, Yeah, where are you on the Trinidad one?

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
I think, but as the potential to pass him, yes, okay,
Trinidad was to me that was the closest one. Yeah,
this fill in the blank is actually a trivia question.

Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
So here we go, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Blank. Comma, a former two time champion in two thousand
and four Olympic silver medal, was the only common Pro
opponent who has fought both Canelo and Bud Crawford, the
former two time champion in two thousand and four Olympic
silver medalist was the only man as a professional to

(01:18:16):
fight both Canelo and Crawford. And I have a hint
if you need it, Amir Khan, Yes, nicely done. There
you go. Alright, alright? That was that was effortless for me.

Speaker 1 (01:18:26):
Yeah, it took me a second. I was like, who
the fuck has fought both of them? And then I
remember the problem is you know what it is? That
Bud Crawford American fight was so terrible because Air was like,
you know what, fuck this, I'm out, you know what
I mean, Like you just quit, Like I'm just fucking done, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
That I was ringside for they called it Connello when
conn and although Kan fought great for four and a
half rounds, dude, when he got hit with that one
punch a round six he got oh that was the murdered.
I remember, like I felt gross inside. That was like, oh,
like a shotgun went off and you were like, oh
my god, he's dead, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
They Yeah, that was a bad one. That one in
the j James Kirkland KOs or two of the vicious ones.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Indeed, he was trying UFC and Quervos. We can of
Quervo have teamed up for a very interesting fan giveaway
with a winner. This is a true story. We'll get
the chance to train in the gym and then hit
the clubs with none other than UFC strawweight Tracy Cortes.
Let's let's watch this commercial right here. This is real.

(01:19:26):
You sign up for our friends at Quervo in the UFC.

Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Loser is going to try this.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
You take your shot. This is wild, right, You get
to hang out, you get to train, you get to roll,
and then you get.

Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
To pay her for that.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
If here's my question. If Luke Thomas won this contest
in twenty twenty five, Blank is the current UFC fighter
he would pick to train and go clubbing with.

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Prior to his milk Boy's appearance, I would have said I,
oh sorry, I and just nuked his whole fucking likability.
All right, so would have been ilia. But do he
goes a little hard? Right in which part of the
paint you're talking about? The club or the training? Probably both,
but definitely in the training giverson guys like oh let

(01:20:12):
me give a body shot.

Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
He doesn't.

Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
He doesn't really hold all that back all that much.
So the question one more time than just read it
as such if Luke is the current Okay, I would
pick to club and train with.

Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
Do you win the contest you get to have an
actual training session and then you're going out at night.

Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
Jesus, that's tough.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
I think I'm picking Tracy Cards. Just I think I'm
sticking with the with the theme right there.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
Okay, that's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 1 (01:20:48):
I'm gonna go uh yuripral Hotchka. Why because I have
the feeling that he's friendly and down to party. Remember
he had to he had to clarify once because he
was like, I'm gonna go have a you know, a
meeting with a bunch of.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Guys hotel, just to be clear, we will not to
be bang.

Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
Yeah, And I'm like, all right, I'm down. And then
I think on the training side, he'd make it fun
and interesting. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
You would do some weird like all type ship on
the door for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
And then we'd sit in the dark room and then
have smooth dumps. But you know, it'd be fun. It'd
be fun.

Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
I think my number two would be Fiona. That'd be wild. Right.

Speaker 1 (01:21:24):
It's like they're like, okay, see your choices are Iliotoria
Nate Diaz and Corey Sandagan.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
He's like Tracy Cortes Long Island, Luke, serious question, who
are you picking?

Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
I said this pretty show. I'm going Tied to a
Vasa because I think he'd be the most fun.

Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
To pass with.

Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
He's so fat, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
And to your point, Luke, Ilio would train too hard.
Maybe you get a nice easy session in with Tie
and then you just go get wasted. It'd be a
fun time.

Speaker 1 (01:21:46):
It's actually not a bad argument.

Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
You can hand run off. You'd get hanging with Toporio though. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
I I also I have a feeling that the Tafa
brothers are probably real fun.

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
I'm not taking that tour, No, not in any for them. No,
they docu the funk out if you got sideways with him.
I believe Jack Della is a good hang.

Speaker 1 (01:22:00):
Jack seems like he's pretty fun, you know, definitely somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Who can booze. Yeah, yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
A lot of these fires are real good that you know,
wouldn't be that fun in the club, you know. I
don't know if Rock Monov would be like super fun. No, No,
in the club'd be fun to train with.

Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Yeah, yeah, you can't.

Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
Shot shout with Sean Brady.

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
I but he's fun too. I like Sean Jean Brady
is a great dude. That dude works hard in the gym.

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Man he called out shot cut Rock Monov.

Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
No, but I'm into that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
He called out on his podcast. He wants Rock Monov.
I think at the end of the year I thought he.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Was getting Gary, or we were speculating you might apparently.

Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
I mean, who knows what he's the satan manager as Gary.
So I'm guessing he's getting a word to a manager.
I forget.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
I don't know, not Danny Rube.

Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
Right, No, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
Alloyd, something, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Yeah, right, that's right, Lloyd Pearson.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
All right, interesting, let's go to number seven, Luke. Major
League Baseball got creative this past weekend when it held
an actual game within the infield of Molter Speedway. Look
at this. Unfortunately, the event was marred by both rain
and poor infrastructure, as angry fans compared it to fire Fest,
when the venue ran out of food before the game

(01:23:03):
even started, and ran out of beer before the game
even started, ran out of merch before the game even started. Also,
if you bought nachos, they didn't have any cheese. If
you bought hot dogs, they didn't have any buns hand. Now,
to be fair, Bristol Motor Speedway allows NASCAR fans to
bring their own food, even though they do sell a

(01:23:23):
little bit. For this one, you were not allowed to
bring anything. And the game was canceled Saturday after one.
I think they did. They pick it up again yesterday.
But can you show that picture again of some of
those seats that were jeeped that were just ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
What are you supposed to do with this seat?

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
That's rough? That is pretty damn unique idea, but it
is rough. So Luke, outside of the White House Lawn,
which has already been announced orly speculated, blank is the
most unique venue that you would want to see the
UFC run a fight card at.

Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
Now, it has to be a traditional venue or like
any kind of space.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
A non traditional. That's the point. Think of the NHL
doing the outdoor ones in the baseball stadiums, think of
Major League Baseball going to the Field of Dreams in Iowa,
or doing this at the race car track.

Speaker 1 (01:24:10):
Man, that's a toolf That's a really great question.

Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Because you got to think of infrastructure, You got to
think of everything. That goes with that, could you go first?

Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
I know you this is not like either or, but
do you do you have like one that would stand out?

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
I mean just first and foremost, something like Yankee Stadium,
for example, right in the center of the field, with
a with a you know, top above it, potentially outdoor
something like that in a in a traditional famous stadium,
I'd be very into. I don't want Alcatraz, I don't
want Times Square, but there's got to be other things
that could work.

Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
Man. That is that is that is such a great question.
I'm trying to think of like what would be you know,
because I've got my own things that'd be personally appealing
to me. But that's different than like what I think
would be the best for the situation.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Roman Coliseum. You're not gonna go there.

Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
I mean I think you could, but like to me, like,
that's a little weird of a I mean, it's like
people like were murdered brutally in there.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Like it's a little weird.

Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
It's like when people have like, you know, we're going
to go have an event at a plantation.

Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
It's like, yeah, sure, you want to do that, asked
Pat Militan. She said the steps at the six.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Yeah, the steps outside the Capitol building. I would say,
you know what, something that I feel like really hasn't
been done that I do think would beautiful. I'm not
sure what the facility would be, but some kind of
outdoor event in Hawaii feels to me would be really
kind of cool and like.

Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
A real fight on, like actually like an octagon on
something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
You know, they did that with Bodog not in Hawaii,
but they did something smilar it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Was and I remember Chill Son and saying like that
costa Rica. There was rain coming in sideways at times.
The matt was slippery.

Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
As if you've never seen Kane Velaskaz his fights on
Bowdog Fight, go look them up and then understand something.
It was a set that was built. You can't tell
from watching it, but it's a set that was built
on top of a hockey rink in Russia. So it's
just the weirdest ship. I don't have a great answer
for you because I have to I have to take
some time to think about it.

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
I think once they figure out how to do stadiums
and I'm talking more like domes, but once they figure
out how to do that and I'm That's what I'm
hoping Canelo Crawford leads to that, because I would love
if UFC went to Wembley Stadium outdoors in London. I
think Yankee Stadium, Dodger stadiums, outlets like, you know, play
venues like that to me are no brainers. Even though
Dana doesn't like doing that. Rose Bull Rose Bull is

(01:26:25):
a great idea as well. What about like Central Park?
I mean, there's a lot of infrastructure have to build.

Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
Central Park's a great idea. Yeah, you could do it again.
It would be somewhat limited, but you could do it.
That's an interesting one.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Look you got anything. I know you're going to say
that movie theater in Huntington where chriss al Jerry used
to fight.

Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
Oh the Paramount. Yeah no, I was with you on
Yankee Stadium and stuff, But I feel like that's more
just a personal thing. What about like Grand Canyon or
like Niagara Falls, like some nice scenes on.

Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Behalf Dome Man.

Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, fist fighting works in carnivals. It doesn't.
You know this why it's weird to put it on
the White House lawn. But yeah, a big fight. I
would just say this to me the answer would be
who's fighting and can we bring it back to where
they're from in some kind of scenic way so.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
You don't want like guantaminobey and the losers get deported.

Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
Yeah, I don't send a Seacott. No no. But like,
for example, if you are going to have a Spanish fighter,
is there a place in Spain that would make sense?
If you're gonna have a Hawaiian fighter, is there a
place in Hawaii that makes sense besides Blaisdel which is
indoors something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
Okay, interesting stuff. One more for you on Phil in
the Blank. Don't know if this segment will ever return,
but Luke sadly, I do not believe the prospect of
former champion and female mm A Goo Amanda Newoni is
coming out of retirement to fight for her former belt
against current title holder Kayla Harrison has MMA fans as
excited as I think they should be, given the star

(01:27:49):
power and the potential that maybe this matchup injects some
life into the women's MMA game in general. Not counting
John Jones, the retired UFC champion you post wish could
come out of retirement right now to fight the current
bellolder in their former division is blank. We're not talking

(01:28:09):
about like you can't say you know somebody from twenty years.
It's got to be somebody who's still physically able. Which
retired champion would you most like to see come back
and face the current champion in their division? It's a
good question. Abbe against Ilia Damn, that's a great fight. Yeah.

(01:28:31):
How old as to be right now? Like mid to
late thirties?

Speaker 10 (01:28:33):
Hmmm?

Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
I think thirty six thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
Maybe he could get into shape and make one fifty
five again.

Speaker 1 (01:28:39):
For that, I mean, I don't know if he could.

Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
He's thirty six thirty six.

Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
Yeah, that's about the closest I.

Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Think it's okay, So no, gsp that window.

Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
I think he's too he's too out of it.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Andy Silva's too old. That's a that's that's probably the answer.
Most people would come, Yeah, what about you there, Long Island.

Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
DJ DJ Pantosia.

Speaker 2 (01:28:58):
That's a great one, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:29:00):
But the problem is, Okay, that's definitely a great choice.
But it's true of Habib too. It's really just a
preference thing. But I do believe that, like if it
was like two three years ago, you would really get
a very competitive fight, and now I think the wormest
turned just enough in Pantoja's favor. And then against DJ
where it's not as competitive as it could have been.
But to your point, great call.

Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
Yes, hey DC at heavyweight, No, too far gone.

Speaker 1 (01:29:28):
I don't think he'd beat Tom at this stage because
or he is fat. I love DC, I love him.
I'm killing him, but I like him. No, it's too
far gone.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Habib is the is the closest one. Yeah, and that
would be wild if you fought Ilia and then Islam
got Ilia next after that, after Elia one, Yeah, it'd
be wild right there. All right, that's all I got
for filling the blank. There it is there it is.
Hope you enjoyed that one. Two more segments for you.
First of all, every Sunday night though at morning combat
on Instagram and on x we put out the call

(01:30:00):
to you to get your questions asked and answered by us.
Your name is probably Flannels and JITs or Dazz. Either way,
we're gonna mahollow your ass with DMS from the Dignity.
All right. Number one comes to us from Javon Lewis
twenty buy or sell three or more of Saturday's winners

(01:30:24):
will fight but not necessarily win a UFC belt in
the future. Is he talking about this past Saturday's fight
my card? If any who wins it, don't forget the
women's Banham White belt. So, Luke, are you buying or
selling that three people from that Apex Warehouse card will
eventually fight for a title?

Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
I think it implies we're including PFL as well. Saturday's
winners could include that Gene.

Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
I doubt it.

Speaker 1 (01:30:48):
I think he's just saying UFC I would sell that.
I would not buy that.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Okay, we're talking tatsu Retira probably will fight for a title,
right and then Vin Kevin via Jos. That's it. So
I think the wild card that he did mention was
women's band away.

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
Could could could maybe Rin Knackamora, could Carol Hosa or
maybe it's possible.

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
It's possible. I'm gonna sell to Yeah, I'll probably sell it.
I'm gonna sell that one. But nice try their Javon Lewis,
let's go over to it. Javon Lewis, I'm sorry, it's
not cage fighting, says what's more important to you in
determining a fight? Cards order, the stakes of the fight,
or it's entertainment value, i e. Should a low ranked
fight expected to be a classic get higher billing than

(01:31:31):
a title eliminator in a weak division. I think you
can also extend this to when they put a women's
title bout in the comin event of a pay per view,
if it's a weak matchup and we're all like, I'm
not really excited about that, would it be okay if
that opened the pay per view? For example, let's say
it was Chefchenko against Caitlin Chukagian, right, Like, is it
okay if that opens the pay per view card? Or
is the is the featured prelim?

Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:31:53):
How would you think? Want to read?

Speaker 1 (01:31:54):
There's not really a wrong answer to the question. It's
just one of the things you have to think about
is if you're going to buck tradition and buck norms,
so the norms would be, Hey, I know it may
not be the most exciting, but it is a title fight,
it is of one of our divisions. We're going to
put it in the appropriate slot that we typically assigned
for these things. If you're going to break that tradition,
you can do it. I don't think it's much of

(01:32:15):
an issue, but you have to ask yourself, like why
you're doing it and under what reasons you're doing it,
and are you applying that equally across all the divisions
where it could be could be done, and then how
are you changing your product as a consequence. You just
really have to ask yourself. Is the reason why the
norms are upheld in the way that they are is
out of respect for the divisions themselves, Right, That's why

(01:32:38):
it's like, are we saying that this fight is the best? No,
We're saying a fight from this division of this magnitude
deserves a special kind of placement, like Max Max.

Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
Versus Justin gatsche At three hundred should have been the
main event, or could have been.

Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
Could have been the main event, But I understand why
they are assigning it under these formal roles. So my
answer to that that would be you can break them
if you really feel like you've got a great case
for it, But otherwise, I think respecting tradition is actually
valuable here.

Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
Yeah, I mean it would be rare that there would
be a non title fight on cards with title fights
that would get top billing. That's very rare. That's very rare,
unless it's BMF, which they've done before. All right, I
get that. I mean we've we've said that about even
at the tail Endo Bellator. Sometimes like the best fight
card would be the comain. We're like, man, that should
have been the main event, right, But they're like, oh,
but the higher, more profile division gets in the top one.

Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
Yes, it's just a question of also how they build
their events too.

Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Sure. Sure. Our third question comes from Christina Pintu underscore,
B do you know this person?

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
I believe this person is a medical doctor.

Speaker 2 (01:33:40):
Wow, wonderful. Would you rather take an upper cut straight
to the chin from Francis and Ganu or be forced
to live in Newark Penn Station for a week.

Speaker 1 (01:33:50):
So when she says, I'll take my chances, you're not.

Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
Getting a cat in the back room. If you're living
in Newark Penn Station, you're you're sleeping on the floor.

Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Right, Yeah, I would do that before getting my face
were by Big Francis.

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
I don't know, dude, you I mean I spent five weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:34:06):
So when I went to there's a in the Marine Corps.
If you're a reservist, you go to boot camp one
summer and then you go to if you break it
up for school, and then the next summer you go
to MS school, which is your job specialty. And then
after that you have to go to what's called MCT
Green Combat Training. So I go to MCT and I
get injured, okay, and then I have to go into
this platoon where it's all what we call broke dicks,

(01:34:27):
and it's all people who are but it's everyone who's
got an ailment for any number of reasons. One guy, literally,
this is a true story, BC. And I felt so
bad for this guy. He had one ball that surrounded
that that cut off the flow of the other one.

Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
I know a guy when I was a kid whose
ball switched sides.

Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
And he had to have surgery. He was he could
barely move, he was in pain. Another guy broke his
jaw and had wired shut and had to drink straight
shakes for six weeks while he was in there, maybe
even longer, did he It looked like hell on Earth
for that guy. I don't want I would rather take
my chances among the rats.

Speaker 2 (01:35:05):
And she's saying a week at Newark pen this is
not one night, Luke. Yeah, you're you are a homeless
person living there? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Do I get to leave during the day?

Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
And stuff, of course you do.

Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
Yeah, so no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
No, no, this is I believe this is twenty four
to seven. There, right, you're just not like you. I
think it's just to McDonald's and get She's saying, okay, yeah,
you can leave to go to the store, but she's
saying live.

Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
Yeah, I can do that for a week.

Speaker 2 (01:35:29):
Yeah. I was in that place for five minutes once
and got harassed by like three different people. Okay, here's
the deal. If I'm guaranteed that the punch only moves
my chin and knocks me out, and that's it, that's
not that bad. But and Ghanu has the power to
like rearrange your jaw.

Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
It's slap fighting with punches with Francis and Ghanu.

Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
What are the chances he wouldn't break your face by
punching you that he can just straight clean knock you out.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
But it's an uppercut, so it's coming straight up. Yeah, dude,
I'll just stop. I'll fight it out in penn station
a week, Dude, a week.

Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
Do you think Oveream would rather live in pensation for
a week?

Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
That's the isn't that the nastiest single strike in UFC history?
The back of his head, touched his back, damn right
when it's snapped. That's my favorite knockout ever. It's the
nastiest one ever. It's just so insane that that one
was special, unbelievable. Number four is from probably Brian, one
of those Brian with a Y type guys. In light

(01:36:24):
of Luke's recent travels and bowel movements.

Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
I got some hate mail about that too.

Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
Oh yeah, people think you're doing this not all thing from.

Speaker 1 (01:36:32):
This not all thing. I'm fucking right. I'm I'm so
sorry to tell people this. I'm fucking right.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
Says the guy who doesn't live in Europe. Are you
speaking for all of Europe?

Speaker 1 (01:36:40):
I'm not speaking for all of you, dud.

Speaker 2 (01:36:42):
Do people have listening comprehension issues. I definitely do.

Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
The argument was twofold one that there are places throughout
Europe where you have to throw it in a trash
can versus not. And then the second one is the
lack of urinal cakes, which by the way, is just
the way it's done in the UK.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
There's very few places that I've seen a lot of
people come back in the comments and be like, I
live in the UK, I have urinal cakes. Everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
These people are not telling the fucking truth BC BCC.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
You're talking to scousers right now, you're talking bc BC.

Speaker 1 (01:37:09):
It is so fucking disingenuous of them to say this.
It is so fucking disingenuous. Can you find places that
use urinal cakes, Yes, relative to the degree that we
have here. It's not even in the same fucking ballpark.
It's not even in the same fucking ballpark. You're fucking wrong.
Travel here, then go back home and tell me it's

(01:37:31):
the same motherfucker it's not. I'm tired of going into
these fucking bathrooms in Europe and they all have the
all everywhere, every bathroom in Europe smells like.

Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Yeah, but your point of Turkey, and that's like basically Asia.

Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
It's it's it's really not and it's not Turkey. It's
also Greece, and it was also Portugal and a million
other places about it too. Is it in every place
in Switzerland? No, of course not.

Speaker 2 (01:37:55):
Go to Lithuania and find out.

Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
I don't know if it's in Lithuania or not, or
still or any of the Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
The real question from probably Brian hidden behind that reference
is what is the place you've wanted to travel to
but haven't yet. I can give you a million you
could too. What's the number one place you haven't been
to that you would go if I said free trip tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:38:12):
There's two answers, and they're tied. Okay, ready yes? Number
one Soul South Korea, dying to go see Soul, South Korea.
Number two Buenos aids Argentina. Those are the two. Those
are the two.

Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
Number one would be Tokyo. And I was supposed to
be a good one for Ryan Garcia versus like a boxer.
They stole that from me. I just didn't get paid
for hosting the press conference. Thank you, thank you, fan
meo all. But I would also put in there I've
forever because I took French in school for five years.
I'm kind of half French. I mean yeah, kind of.

(01:38:44):
I want to do like the French Alps. I want
to do like all of that country Frances, Like I
want to brand a car and drive all over France.
That'd be cool.

Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
Yeah, yeah, what about you Long Island, I'd say, just
like the whole European excursion going through all those countries.
I've been to England, but I've never really explored the
rest of Europe, Western Europe.

Speaker 2 (01:39:03):
I want to go to weird European places like Andra
up in the mountains.

Speaker 1 (01:39:06):
Have you never been to mainland Europe?

Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
No? I had the two business trips in London.

Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
Otherwise I've ever been London?

Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
Is nice? Did you go to Kazakhstan?

Speaker 1 (01:39:15):
I would under the right circumstances. Far I mean, one
of the big issues now is just like timing, because
of how far everything is.

Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
What country was the most dangerous that you ever visited,
or even if it wasn't dangerous for you while you
were there, has the reputation for being the most Egypt
was a little sketch. Okay, Egypt was sketched, But you
went to Lebanon, right Lebanon?

Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
Was that quite safe at the time that I went
Syria I've been to No, I've not been to Syria.
I've been to Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia. As
a kid, I lived in cutter Ye, Japan. I mean
I lived.

Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
I've been in.

Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
Alter I just met her. I was a kid at
that time too, you know, so I've been I've been
to a bunch of places.

Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Let's go to our fifth and final d M before
we pick kernels out of my ship here. This is
from Stick's plays Time. Walk me through a perfect date
night with your significant other going out or staying in?

Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
Regale you with my dating life?

Speaker 2 (01:40:15):
Who care? I think they want details? Do you like
are you? Are you banging? Orly you know? I don't.
I don't want to know that. But like he's did
he ask that? Or did I just assume he meant that?
All right, he's okay, So the questions longer. I'll read
you the full question. Walk me through a perfect dat
night with your magnificant other going out or staying in?
Movie or live show, Viagra and banging or Delta eights
and romance.

Speaker 1 (01:40:36):
Okay, so go through the checklist one.

Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
More time, going out or staying in?

Speaker 1 (01:40:41):
Going out?

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
Yeah, perfect date night is going going out to a
nice restaurant, right for sure. Yeah, don's not to be
crazy expensive, but like I.

Speaker 1 (01:40:48):
Doesn't have to be dinner, if it's a show, doesn't
have to be both the other.

Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
Okay, Uh, then it says movie or live show? Live show. Yes,
my wife and I don't like the same kind of music.
She's not a huge live music fan unless we like
the play or like she would do that. Yeah, we
when we when we did a Broadway play, we did
a couple play at smaller place.

Speaker 1 (01:41:07):
Yeah, I think that that's a Vegas show, like a
like a circus sole A Vegas show is kind of cool.

Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
That is that is cool. That is cool. And it
says viagra and bang banging or Delta eight's in romance.

Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
These guys, I'm gonna say, split the difference Delta eight
and banging.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
I'm gonna say, I'm married, so I don't bang. I'm kidding. Yeah. No,
A great date night these days with with with my
lovely wife is uh, dinner, sometimes a movie, you know
what I mean. We do much more. Fan All of
our ninety percent of our anniversaries have been spent with
the kids. Yeah, because we just love being a fesome. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:41:45):
Yeah, definitely gonna be going out. The thing is about
I said this before, like I've done the thing where
you spend a bunch of money going to a really
nice restaurant and sometimes those are nice, but like most
of the time you get the bill and you're like,
don't get me wrong, I had great food and the
service was great. I mean, nothing was nothing wrong. But
this just doesn't seem like the juice is worth the
squeeze in terms of how much money they cost.

Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
Yeah, I'm with you. We had a great anniversary a
couple of years ago where we went to New York.
We went to like one of those like Mama pap
Italian places, you know, down in the Wall Street area,
and spend you know, like three hundred bucks in dinner,
but it was so authentic and amazing. Then did the
Broadway show and stayed at the hard rocking Times Square,
like did like the most touristy thing ever, really fun,
but really so expensive.

Speaker 1 (01:42:24):
Yeah, but for me it's going to be going to
a live show and you know, certainly having something good
to eat.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
But we are more of the of the idea of
like be modest and don't spend on anything except for vacations,
because that's like, that's exactly the way to live. That's
the that's the memory, that's the redeemable memories that you
take with you.

Speaker 1 (01:42:44):
So I still have memories of traveling with my dad
all over the Middle East, and you know, those are
like core memories that have been built in. I want
to be able to provide something like that with my kid,
you know, and I can't do that and keep up
with the Joneses, so as we'll just do that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
In Long Island. Look, your perfect date night is what
a bong and a PFL car.

Speaker 3 (01:43:00):
Longs are packed live shows?

Speaker 1 (01:43:03):
He's like, no girlfriend insight, just a sausage fest.

Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
To be fair, you're you're I'm assuming your lovely girlfriend
is a concert lover and you guys have like the
same taste.

Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Yeah, she'll take any live music. She doesn't care about
the genre. So anytime there's a word and she wants
to go see it.

Speaker 1 (01:43:18):
Yes, what about my bands? Would she come see those?

Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
I don't think she'd see Cannibal Not. To be honest,
she probably would. I'm not even gonna lie. She probably
would go see you.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
Interesting stuff right there. Thank you for your DM questions.
Reminder you can reach the program using our email address
morning combat at gmail dot com. This Friday, we're gonna
be hitting you with some fan subs with some dead wrongs.
Last week's fan subs like Luke with the weird cake
lady on the on the nine eleven flight. That's wild.
That's wild. It really was quite disturbing. I loved it.

(01:43:45):
That was one of my favorite fan subs ever you
can reach us, but please don't send Mikey any pictures
of your dog, all right? Do that? Indeed, all right,
we got one final segment for you, where your boy
BC who? Last week I talked the big game. Remember
I was like, Yo, there's gonna be like a plus
and it turned out to be like a C. Yeah.
This week we'll find out how Luke graides it. I
scoured the globe for the highs and lows, the good,
the bad, the ugly, and in between the words of

(01:44:06):
combat sports and beyond this what's called bc'scs. Whoah, somebody's
taking a shot on that one, Luke. For all the
people that say there's no d in the w n
B A right, is there all female? Yeah? That was

(01:44:26):
like a joke on defense, right, Yeah, it was terrible.
Check Out this game in Atlanta that happened about a
week and a half ago where play was interrupted for
what a green flying dildo? Luke your thoughts.

Speaker 1 (01:44:40):
So this became a whole thing, right.

Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
It's going to become a whole thing in a second.
So that was in Atlanta. Two nights later in Chicago,
more Dilda check this out.

Speaker 1 (01:44:53):
Yeah, this definitely doesn't strike me as insanely misogynistic.

Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
Come on, you let this iss.

Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
It's a funny bit, but it's also insanely misogical.

Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
Well, the WNBA has responded by changing their logo, which
is wild. This is an actual tweet from Indiana Fever
star Sophie Cunningham, who said, stop throwing dildo's on the court.
That's not really you're going that's real. That's a verified account.
That's not real. She's funny though, she's talking che funny,
and she's obviously playing into the bit while also warning people.

(01:45:25):
But there are some betting sites that are now taking
wagers on the color of the next stil dough throw,
along with will how will it be handled? Dude? Seriously,
you can bet on this.

Speaker 1 (01:45:39):
So I know for a fact that Angel Reese got
real mad at some dudes. They were doing a bit
where they would bet against Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:45:46):
My god, those dudes those I follow that account.

Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
Yes, well she's sent a ceason desist letter to make
them stop.

Speaker 2 (01:45:51):
He did like eight straight nights where they were betting
that she would miss the first shot. They had like
bricks in their hand and they're like and then they
would win every single time, and he would go sick
when they would win.

Speaker 1 (01:46:00):
Yeah, no, I don't know what I don't know. I
don't quite understand what you can and can't bet against.
But it seems like in general, in general you can
bet against.

Speaker 2 (01:46:07):
Any but they even have like a Caucasian dildough you
can bet on. The first two have been like aqua green,
Like you know, look at that, which one are you going?
If you had to bet, you're going purple next? Or
what do you think? I mean that blue is at
plus fourteen hundred. That's a ve. Let's bring in our
betting expert Long Island. Look you're going blue, hair.

Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
I think you got to take the value on blue
plus fourteen hundred. Look at the odds of that compared
to all the other colors, and you'd argue you if
no green, all those colors had an equal chance.

Speaker 1 (01:46:29):
You need to seek helpy media.

Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
Dude. This is wild though, this is a coordinated effort.

Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
When I read out those like things to go to.
If you're like a gambling addict, that's for you.

Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Okay, there you go. Uh Luke, you know about regional mma.

Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Where anything can happen anything?

Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
Check this out? Okay, this is akhd Byron Walker on
the left arm. Sorry, Glenn Norman on the left pointed down,
did the Max Holloway bit, and then Byron Walker sent him.

Speaker 1 (01:46:53):
To hell, calling him Minimum Holloway.

Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
Oh my god, can you show that one? Can you
let that play one more time? So he points down
very Holloway, s.

Speaker 1 (01:47:02):
Yes that and then proceeds to get kao on the
next time, his opponent engages him just like that and
look at So it's amazing about this one is not
only does he point down and then gets kaoed, but
the ko itself is actually quite spectacular. Yes, that is
that is a regional m M A own goal that

(01:47:23):
is quite rare, and how bad it is amazing?

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
Let's keep it going with the regional MMA theme. Watch
this finish from the ground Luke oh ship that ended
the fight.

Speaker 1 (01:47:31):
Dude capa ware kick, but just a hand plant kick. Look,
he's just gonna plant off the elbow, then the hand.

Speaker 2 (01:47:36):
Chef Cast, big capaware instructor.

Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
Listen, that's protect yourself at all times, yes, and then
where and wear red lights on your balls.

Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
Do you think there's any chance that when Chef Cast
was cooking for Taporia that he slipped a little GHB
in there? Just just just to see what happens. I mean,
I would certainly test the food. Maybe he wants to
win that Quervo night out. All right, there you go, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
You got a party with chef cast and then go
train with him.

Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
Luke, we're gonna take this to regional moy Thai here.
Uh this is the uh god a double ko Shades
of Fade or Matriona at msg Luke. Only that didn't
in the fight was an elbow too. That's beautiful. Actually,
that's good stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:48:15):
All right, And Julia, did you see.

Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
That ESPN has been doing their espn Oho bit lately
playing all the weird sports. Your boy Johnny Lacuasto, my guy.

Speaker 1 (01:48:21):
I saw Johnny he was he was host. He was
the host of like some like bounce Ball.

Speaker 2 (01:48:25):
Yeah. Then there was like Slippery Stairs. There was also
Pillow Fight Championships featuring guess who check Congo versus Hector Lombard.
Luke your thoughts, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:48:35):
I mean, what are they getting paid for this bullshit?

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
He slept fighting doesn't does it?

Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
They weren't even the main event, which is crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
I don't, I mean, I really don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
Here's my question, what is the appeal and who gives
a ship exactly?

Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
Luke. I turned this on on Friday night and I
watched it live.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
I'm not even yeah, but he was high.

Speaker 3 (01:48:52):
Fair to be fair, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
Drunk, all right. Well that's different.

Speaker 2 (01:48:55):
I mean, what do you make about Long Island Luke loves?
What do you drink bud Light? Like? Love's just a
American lagger?

Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
Yeah, because bud lights are great because you could drink
twelve of them and still be okay.

Speaker 1 (01:49:04):
My view on bud light and middle light is like,
if you're going to eat like Chinese food or some
like cheap takeout, bud light and middle light or like
perfect for it. You know, if you have an all
an appetite for anything halfway decent, you're a fucking toddler
drinking that shit.

Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
Kid Rock taught me that a machine gun pairs perfectly
with bud lit.

Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
I'm a boons farm dude kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
Some of my craziest nights as a six seventeen year
old was on the front. So if you don't know
what that was, like like sugary, syrupy flavored wine, a
bottle this big, that'd be like the size of two
bear cans and it'd be like three dollars. Yeah, and
you get like you get, dude, the apple one. There
was a berry one like those, you would get fucked off. Yeah,

(01:49:47):
I had.

Speaker 1 (01:49:48):
I had strawberry wine for the first time in college.

Speaker 2 (01:49:50):
I never had any amazing, amazing. All right, Luke, it's
time for your fails of the week. Here's some not
must stay on the rock. I don't know what post
this is in yoga ship? Do we add that to
our Uh? Have you seen this ship that we're just

(01:50:12):
showing deaths?

Speaker 1 (01:50:13):
Death? How Your next one is like, yeah, watch this
antelope get ripped in pieces byles.

Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
These women were having the time of their life, Luke.
And they've never felt like this before, doing the dirty
dancing bit inside the.

Speaker 1 (01:50:24):
Box somewhere in Nashville or some bullshit. Oh here we go.
Oh my god, wow, let me let me explain show
that one again. Let me explain some to you. Look
at the size of these women.

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
You get bigsies. Oh my gosh, wow, you got a.

Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Big girl trying to do Okay, this is this is
this is what I have to do deal with on
amtrak when the elderly people have to pick up their bags. Brother,
it's it's it's you just don't know if they're going
to make it to the end of that transaction. I
have to sprint from my phone.

Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
And I'm trying to sprint to get that window seat
before it fills up, and they're blocking the aisle.

Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
Oh my god, dude, I cannot tell you how many
old people I have saved from death. There are you
someone out there watching your grandmother, your grandfather. I have
saved their lives like a EMT.

Speaker 2 (01:51:05):
And then ruined it by just shipping in my dungarees.
All right, we got a couple more fails for you.
Let's go to this skateboarding trick.

Speaker 1 (01:51:16):
That's the trick.

Speaker 3 (01:51:21):
Wow, that's Woodward in Pennsylvania. I went there three summers
growing up. Wow, skateboarding camp, dud.

Speaker 1 (01:51:28):
Dude, you your dub t for a dad was all Australian.
I mean, it's unbelievable. That's cool, cap.

Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
Let's go to the softball doublehead, doubleheader. Keep your eye
on the pitcher, all right? That had to hurt. That hurts.

Speaker 1 (01:51:42):
That doesn't feel great?

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
Oh double duty? Damn? Alright?

Speaker 1 (01:51:48):
Okay, so what should get for playing softball?

Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
Bitch? Luke? They got this guy on Instagram. I love
I follow him. He ranks everything. Let's watch this ranking
NFL players by how likely I would be to let
them pet sit for me.

Speaker 1 (01:52:00):

wearing a Victor. Yeah, it's just sac relege right there.

Speaker 1 (01:52:18):

Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
Your SoundBite of the week goes to this Auburn coach.
You need length and girth in this league. Luckily I

You know, seriously. Your dunk of the week goes to
Shaquillo Meal. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:52:42):
These big girls, you know, you know, listen, listen. I'm
all for body positivity, yes, but you got to be
a respector of physics and gravity at the same time.
You know, So when Big Bertha wants to like a
dirty dancing ride, you got to tell her no. And
when this one wants to go slam dunking, you know
you gotta be like, listen, please don't run over the

(01:53:02):
walls like the kool Aid Man in my house.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):

Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
Ask Nadier if he takes his phone and did you
take your phone into the shower?

Speaker 2 (01:54:21):

Speaker 1 (01:55:19):
Yeah, he uses anesthesia, which again I think local anesthetic
is no big not that big a deal.

Speaker 2 (01:55:24):
But like like literally going to sleep, oh, like colopy style.

Speaker 1 (01:55:27):
Yeah, and he'll have like four tattoo guys work on
him at once. To me, that's like risky and kind
of stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
I remember my first kolonoscopy tough too.

Speaker 1 (01:55:36):
They give you this liquid you have to drink the
day before. It will give you diarrhea in ways it's
hard to overstate.

Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
Well I didn't do that. Actually I didn't do the
drink bit because my wife had been through it a bunch.
She has this other way you do it, where you
make this drink that doesn't taste as bad and you just.

Speaker 1 (01:55:49):
I don't know, know, I shiit several gallons of butt
water that day.

teto Ortiz throwback time. Check out this shirt that he
actually once wore into the Octagon.

Speaker 1 (01:57:22):

Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
All right? All right, here is actually very real. This
was around This was the early two thousands. Te do
Ortiz asked his five favorite bands before we play? Can
you guess anybody he's gonna name?

Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
What's the question again?

Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
Tet do Ortiz, around like two thousand and one or two,
was asked his five favorite bands.

Speaker 1 (01:57:40):
I know one's gonna be Eminem because he walked out
with Evan Tevan have a bunch of times, and he'll
probably like Metallica or Guns N' Roses or see what
he say.

Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
Five bands of all time corn Eminem, Doctor dre Snoop Dog,
and lit Biscuit. There you go, brought to you by
Mickey's maltaker.

Speaker 1 (01:57:59):
I mean, I don't know how many of those what
I would call bands, yes, but those were music.

Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Artists the early two thousands.

Speaker 1 (01:58:05):
You've got to great him on a curve.

Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
You understand that happened for years? All right, Lucas time
for m fighters in the wild. How about Hamzat Chimayav
working I with t J. Dillashaw. I had a three
nineteen year thoughts.

Speaker 1 (01:58:15):
Yeah, there was a training lab which were where you
know Aaron Pico is there. Yeah, listen, they are apparently
trying to keep him from overtraining so you're not getting sick,
which has been. So we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 2 (01:58:28):
See Dean Thomas saying that he he thinks it could
be the worst thing if.

Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
He called I think it's a little strong, but I
don't understand the trump.

Speaker 2 (01:58:35):
You mentioned Aaron Piko, Hamsad and Pico working out here
as well. Check out the abs on Pico, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:58:41):
Guys look like they're fucking ready for ready for war crap.

Speaker 2 (01:58:45):
Also, Luke Curtis, Blade's got a new family friendly haircut.

he's you know, working for Epstein now or something.

like Curtis, I respect to com moving to the bit.

Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
All right, let's see armand Sarukian, the Armenian Hulk working
out in the cage here working on the Jackson cage, Luke.

Speaker 1 (01:59:21):
Rocking and this motherfucker through the door.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Somebody lock that door? All right, Luke? You ever get

sit cramped with like dirt bag kids. Yea, watch this?
What's the second level? Okay? All right? Oh my gosh,
Mom's just like yeah, you'll be all right, son.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
How is no one noticing up top?

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
That's insane? That is insane, Luke? Uh you know, speaking
of great fan submemes involving your your your side piece,
here's the weird French cake lady.

Speaker 1 (01:59:56):

Speaker 2 (02:00:00):

Speaker 2 (02:00:07):
Here is this kind of hot? I still can't figure
it out? What I'm friend?

Speaker 1 (02:00:12):
How do you look at this fucking cannibal whore and go.

Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
I can't wait till we get her on this One
of these days, there's gonna be a guy standing there
nude with the with the dog, and she's gonna be

Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
Check this ship out ramps, just chilling, minding his business.

Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
It looks like.

Speaker 1 (02:00:36):
Someone's got some issues. Took an angle.

Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
Here we go. Oh you know what, they went out
doing what they love. They did. That old guy was
he's out cold.

Speaker 1 (02:00:50):
Yeah, you know the problem is he landed the nicer shot,
but then he faced planted into the pavement.

Speaker 2 (02:00:54):
Damn, man, you know, damn, let's go to this one
wild ending here. Watch this.

Speaker 1 (02:01:04):
Let's see, I'll squaring them up all right. Let's see
you got a stance going a Yeah, that man is
ready for the cough bro, New York. You'll see some
ship like this all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:01:24):
And then people just keep walking all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:01:26):
You know, you know how hard it is to teach
a six year old girl like how you navigate through
a world of like, you know, crazy ass street people.
And she keeps being like, you know, they'll say something
to me, not like not like yesterday. For example, we're
biking and Tuki had to go around a group of
like four teenagers and the teenagers were they weren't talking
shit to me, but they were like, you know, you

(02:01:48):
can tell they wanted to and they were just stopping
just short of it, and I had to kind of
navigate so while waiting for Tuk to go around it,
and then you know, we passed and Tuke goes, hey,
those guys were talking to you.

Speaker 2 (02:01:59):
What did they say?

Speaker 1 (02:02:00):
And I had to just kind of explain to her,
don't say that to them in earshot of them.

Speaker 2 (02:02:05):
You know what I mean? Excuse me, sir, can you
give me directions to the internet? Interstate man?

Speaker 1 (02:02:09):
Fuck yo, Mama, That's not what happened. That's not what happened.
They were they didn't cross the line, but you could
tell that, Like, dude, I.

Speaker 2 (02:02:16):
Told you that story before. How my dad in like
eighty five took us to New York City for the
day on the train, went to Radio City, saw the
Christmas show all that He would tell me years later
that he put a gun in his top breast pocket
because of the crack epidemic was so out of control.
It was a week after that family got killed in
the subway, famously from Utah, and I just remember how

(02:02:38):
out of control Manhattan was at the time. I saw
like ten different accidents that day where people just crashed
into each other and just kept going.

Speaker 1 (02:02:44):
People people talk about, oh, New York City's on safe.
First of all, it's not. It's second insanely compared to
how it used to be. It is, like, dude, it
was fucking apocalyptics.

Speaker 2 (02:02:53):
Especially the late seventies, but that carried into the mid eighties.

Speaker 1 (02:02:56):
Really, they carried into the until Julia Julian got problems,
but he was the one kind of cleaned it up.

Speaker 2 (02:03:00):
So I skipped school in high school a couple of
times and went down and like went to the gross
places there before Juliana cleaned it up.

Speaker 1 (02:03:06):
Yet was like time score was when you went to
go to the porno theaters and now it's Disney.

Speaker 2 (02:03:10):
You know, it's really weird. All right, we got one
more I want you to watch because people are often like,
what is Thomas gonna look like on the New York
City subway in thirty years? Watch this bearded, white haired fellows.

Speaker 4 (02:03:21):
I love New York.

Speaker 3 (02:03:22):
