Speaker 1 (00:05):
Really really.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Look at us now, timpted Jesus, Oh.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Do you want to.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Do? Will be too? It's time to bank. Oh friggin yeah, right,
we're back at it. It's Monday, July seven, twenty twenty five.
This right here is Morning Combat, the best damn combat
sports show they ever put together, with two washed individuals.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Two pathetic pieces of shit IMBC.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Brian Campbell, Connecticut's own and you're looking at DC's finest,
Luke Thomas. And today, Luke, we got a weird rundown
of things to talk.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Might be the weirdest one we've ever done.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah. Yeah, we're going to get to the bottom of
whether the government was telling the truth about the Epstein list,
and then I have some thoughts on Building seven we'll
get into as well. Luke, fourth of July is behind us.
Did you celebrate America?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
We I took the tukes star. I mean, I figure
every kid has to go at least once. If you
live in the city. You got to go see the
federal fireworks. Yes, they were fine for four minutes. They
weren't much longer than that. I remember being longer as
a kid. But whatever on a bus, I know they
don't start till like nine pm, So you have to
figure out like what you're going to do all day,
(01:37):
and part of that you have to wait, you know,
in these areas. So but we did it. I decided
to do it, and she liked it. But then you know,
it ended and we were like, all right, well that's that.
But yeah, other than that, we had a good time. Oh,
I will say this, We'll say this.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Wh't you say it?
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Tuki lifted weights with me in her own way, like
the front yard, and a very kid likely I have
her like a one pound kettlebell lifted weights with me
in the front yard yesterday.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Okay, Wow. All we need is to get her on
some metal music and maybe tried and maybe the worst
energy drinks that will kill you. Speaking of which, yes,
please break it out, Break it.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Out, honor in honor of the news today of America.
By the way, this is not affiliated with the show.
I purchased this at the bodega down the street.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Did you buy howlerhead with it?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Or the flavor? By the way, is screaming with no
G freedom. Wow, screaming freedom. You know, I've always wondered,
what does freedom taste like? Ice? Attention? I don't know
they should call one ice attention and have like you know.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Form energy brought to you.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
So the last one of these the grape just blast
whatever it was, Yes, yes it was not bad, but
just too sweet. Remember that was too sweet? All r
Let's let's try this one.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
This is screaming Freedom, which apparently has oh my god,
it spells like Roba Tussin and sour patch kids.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
All right, here we go. It's like GHB and uh yeah,
there we go. That's that's great.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
One more of these.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, it's better than the other one. Okay, it'll kill
you just as fast.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
I just want you know that I now have type
two diabetes.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
There it is, there it is, so it's all right.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
It's lemony limey.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Is that freedom?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I don't know it is freedom? It is?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:24):

Speaker 1 (03:54):
How are you doing?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I'm doing good. I had a nice weekend with the girl,
you know, boyfriend of the year hanging out. Did join
Gaff on Saturday for a little PFL.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Year You guys hate a hingle?
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Right, No, he's got a girlfriend, man, she.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Know we've better, right, same girl?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Oh, that's right, together for years. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, she's tolerant.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
So wait, I just I don't mean to make fun
of you guys. But on the fourth of July weekend,
where everybody was out doing stuff, You're like, yo, let's
do a PFL mena live stream.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
No, So Gaff did PFL Mena on Friday. I was
celebrating Fourth of July. But on the fifth of July,
my girlfriend was working during the day. I said, Gaff,
I'll hop on your stream. We'll do some PFL Europe.
So we had a good time.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
What was the peak viewership for that?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
That's a Gaff question because it was on his YouTube
I don't actually know, but.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I think you can check Don Davis's LinkedIn for more.
You go there. It is all right, thank you, Luke,
No seasons.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Someone take away Don Davis's phone for the love of God, please.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
We will be looking ahead today to the second half
of the year in combat sports, hitting some weird headlines
from the octagon on the White House lawn to Ice,
catching up with old Chavez Junior. What the hell's going
on in this world? Dude?
Speaker 1 (04:59):
This is the as you and this might be the
string just rundown we've ever put together.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
It's together some weird ones, for sure. We would like

It's not just a podcast, Luke, It's a lifestyle. It
is what we bring here.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Can I tell you? I got two messages.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
From men who hate women?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
No from well, they might, I mean, I don't know.
I doubt it, though they didn't make that part clear. Yes,
they definitely wanted us at their house. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Now, is this to potentially harvest our organs and or
swap partners or is this more of just like a
live pocket.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
I know that the swapping partner's part, it is very
important to you, thec's like and the fine print it
has to sack and bang or significant other. They we
didn't get that far along in the conversation, okay, but
I definitely had a couple of people reach out being like,
if you're all are serious, blah blah blah blah blah.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Okay, but we're not like staying, We're not like sleeping over.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
That's exactly what we're doing. Hardcore, hardcore, Buddy.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I'm more into like soft cose cinemag style. If that's
where you're going, buddy. All right, all right, we might
as well get into the actual show today. Right. It's
a weird one. It is a weird one. So get
ready for topic number one. Here we go off the top.
Get this, guys. President Donald J. Trump told a crowd
(07:09):
of supporters in Iowa on Friday that one year from
now July fourth, twenty twenty six, the two hundred and
fiftieth anniversary of this great country, the US of A.
What's better to break it in and to put a
damn octagon on the lawn of the White House. We
are talking about this. It's not clear how far along
(07:29):
the planning for the event is or how definite it
is that it'll happen, and the UFC spokesperson said more
details would be released in due time. But this is
very serious and very real, according to a report from
NBC News, here, I want to place first the video
of Trump speaking this into existence, and then we'll get
(07:49):
LT's live reaction.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
So every one of our National park, battlefields and historic
sites are going to have special events of America two
fifty And I even think we're gonna have a UFC fight.
We're gonna have Does anybody watch UFC.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
The Great Dana World.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
We're gonna have a UFC fight. We're gonna have a
UFC fight.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Think of this on the grounds of the White House.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
We have a lot of land there.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
We're gonna build a little We're not Dani's gonna do it.
Daniel's great, one of a kind. We're gonna have a
UFC fight championship fight, full fight, like twenty twenty five
thousand people, and we're gonna do that as part of
two fifty. Also, we're gonna have some incredible events, some
professional events, some amateur events, but the UFC fight's gonna
be a big deal too.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
And to Luke, like, what what world are we living?
And this is bizarre?
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, I'm not sure what to say about this, to
be perfectly honest. I mean, there's like a million things
to say.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
In one thing. It's the sport that we cover for
a living that day is our our family to eat
is going extreme mainstream, But.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
It's a yeah, you know what, I would actually before
I even say anything, I would actually much rather hear
from Long Island Luke on this one, because well, here's
here's here's what I basically get from this. I don't
know his political affiliation, which is I think actually tells
you a lot like it. I don't think it's a
four part of his identity. I think his sensibility is
much more in tune with like the common UFC fan,
(09:22):
So Long Island Luke hearing this here in the president
say that and then getting this news. What is your
reaction to this?
Speaker 3 (09:29):
This does nothing for me? I like, I don't know.
It's kind of like when Turkey was like we're putting
on a boxing event in Times Square, Like okay, cool,
that's it'll be nice scenery, but like you care about
the fights, right, But yeah, what is that? That does
nothing for me? Yeah? Yeah, I'm not that big into
politics in general. So I feel like I'm really here.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I feel like it really depends on who you ask,
to be perfectly honest with you, If you ask MMA fans,
I think I don't know if the majority of them,
but many of them would probably say, hey, that's pretty cool, right.
I mean, that's certainly a different scenery.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
I mean it's not every day our country turns two
hundred fifty years old, Like this is a kind of
a major milestone moment. Sure, we're bringing that in with
the damn octagon. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I mean, well, there's there's one question, which is what
on earth does the UFC have to do with freedom?
July fourth. It doesn't quite line up in that particular.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Way, but lines up in that can right, screaming.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Freedom, that's what it is. So that being not a
thing that we're focusing on. I think MMA fans would
probably say, and again I cannot speak for them, but
I'm just trying.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
To read the tea leaves.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
They would say that it's certainly a cool backdrop. It's
certainly a question or a marker of to the point
you raise mainstream visibility. But I would actually argue that's
not quite right. The UFC didn't get to the White
House lawns such that it actually happens. And by the way,
the UFC and the Trump administration both had said that
(10:54):
the plans are serious, but it does.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
They did put a little wiggle.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Room in there that it may not happen or you know,
you know, detail subject.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
To change, or we'll see.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
So they're going to give themselves a little bit of
out if they actually have to move it, Because I
do want to talk about the logistics of it.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
You can't put twenty five thousand people inside the fences, right,
that's you could about that, you could. So I've I've
recently been to the White House for the first time
two years ago on family vacation. And when you come
from the side of the Washington Monument and walk that
way so that the south lawn, you're south lawn, there's
that extra wide open field. Was that the Ellipses, so let's.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Called the Ellipse, yes, Ellipse excuse that's on the other
side of East Street facing Constitution.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Possibly put up some fences in so I looked this up.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I actually looked this up. I actually looked it up
last night. Has there ever been a sporting event that
was basically controlled by the White House that took place
either on the south lawn or the ill side.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Of like a makeshift special Olympics like baseball game.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, I mean President Clinton put a quarter mile track.
Obama had a basketball court put in there. You know,
Clinton had like a blowjob like but you know that
aside like just indulging a president. And Nixon had obviously
a bowling alley installed in the in the White House
but outside of that, in the nineteenth century, the Washington
Senators actually played some games on the ellipse. It actually
(12:12):
was a real It actually was a real thing. But
in terms of the South Lawn, it's like you can
if you live in the area. They the the White House,
no matter who the administration is, they'll put up every
year for Easter Egg for Easter Egg count. Little kids
can sign up and then they do a lottery and
then you can go.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
They do that.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Obama had like a twenty sixteen almost like a south
By Southwest thing. There had two thousand people on there.
It's an eighteen acre property. You couldn't put it on
the Lafayette Square side. You have to put it on
the South Lawn side.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
You could do it.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
But this is one of the other questions I would have,
which is that is a logistical nightmare because you are
you're gonna have to close off key portions of downtown,
which you can do. But this right, is it the
US government or I mean it's Turkey. I had several
friends lose their jobs in DOGE cuts, and I'm expected
(13:00):
to believe this is an effective use of taxpayer dollars.
That doesn't It doesn't make a lot of sense to
me if I'm just being honest.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
With you, But would we need Turkey to come in
and like, who's.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
If there's a benefactor, that's a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
We're ill fitted for the Oval office Elon Muskay and
Kennemine or Turkey.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Turkey knows a little bit more about the fight game.
I guess I would just say this. I think MMA
fans are going to be real jazzed to have this
kind of a placement in this celebration, to be on
the White House, to have it in a front and center.
But the point I want to raise previously, which is
the one it's like, oh, it's like fully mainstream, yes,
sort of sort of, but not really. The UFC didn't
(13:41):
get to this place by staying with their big tent approach.
For most of my life, they had a big tent approach.
It didn't matter tall, short, white, black, rich, poor, southern, northern, western,
and Eastern, it didn't.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Matter who you are.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
There was the argument was there was a space for
you inside MMA. That is not the That is not
the claim that they make now. The claim that they
make now is this is I mean, they don't say
this explicitly but they have alienated We've talked about this
a million times, a portion of their fan base by
going all in on one side decidedly. That's how they
got here. And I just think the other thing I
(14:17):
would ask folks to consider is, listen, I don't really
know what's going to happen between now and next July,
whether this will happen. It might just be no big deal.
It might be a huge deal. Again, I think for
MMA fans, they're just focused on what kind of card
are we going to get?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Right?
Speaker 1 (14:29):
And then that's and then that looks kind of cool.
And I understand that. I'm just gonna say it again, dude,
the UFC going all in on political polarization and the
way that they are, I don't know what the law
and I'm saying this genuinely, I do not know what
the long term risks are. Makes me a little nervous
for the long term viability of the sport. It does
makes me a little nervous that they would go we're
(14:51):
we're going to go small tent and then hardcore focus
on that, don't I don't know what that does.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I mean, it's like, I love MMA, but do I
want in octagon? On the White House grounds on the
country's two hundred and fiftieth birthday. And that's independent.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
You know, the fighters are gonna win and then go
absolutely fulate Trump.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
But that's it.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
I was gonna say it.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
For me, it's independent of who's in office. To me,
it's like it's so it's like everybody's kickback is, oh,
if you say anything negative about Trump being cage sided
and being worshiped that you have ce events, then it
means you automatically love the other side. I don't want
Biden there, I don't want Obama there. I don't want
any of those guys there. It's one thing to be
in attendance and wave and the camera goes on you,
just like when a president's throwing out the first pitch
from the front row of the you don't see them
of a crowd, and then you don't see him again.
(15:31):
I wonder would this have the same like, is this
is the reaction to this rooted specifically in how people
react to that side of the political line, or would
the reaction be the same if it was Joe Biden.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
So I actually I didn't have a whole lot of
a reaction. My friends who live in DC all texted me.
They're like, you're going to go to this and I'm like,
I would be deny credentials on two levels trying to
get into this one. But but I actually read around
the internet just to see what people said, and of
course three actions fall on partisan lines too, right, So
the right wing is pretty happy about it. The left
(16:05):
wing considers this quite tacky. In the end, the thing
that I would just ask folks all tacky a shit
to be fair, it's a little monster trucky.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Yeah, a little monster trucky, That's what I'm saying. It's
like what does that say about America? You know?
Speaker 1 (16:17):
But in the end, in the end, I think the
thing I would ask folks to consider is beyond some
of the things we've already mentioned, is just that what again,
I'm gonna ask, what on earth does this have to
do with Fourth of July? And like, when we're celebrating this,
are we actually celebrating the independence of the British or
is this a way for a guy who's got I'm
(16:38):
sorry to bring this up and we can move on
from it. But the guy who's got authoritarian tendencies to
have praise lavished on him on his literal fucking lawn
by a company that has no problem doing business with
authoritarian regimes. Like it just feels to me like actually
pretty much a continuation of that on down the line.
You know, I don't know, I don't know. So in
the end, my view is whenever you fall politically will
(17:01):
absolutely color how this looks. The last thing I'll say
is like, when this kind of got announced, the least
law abiding UFC fighters that we have, we're all like.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Me first, let me be the first. So the one
me first that got everybody fired up as they should
was recently retired former two division champion and greatest of
all time John Jones, who uh pulled out of the
possibility of a multi year build toward a Tom Aspital
heavyweight title unification fight to then do this on Twitter,
(17:35):
which obviously felt like he was sticking a finger in
the soar of all MMA fans. Not only is the
I like this to in response to an AI image
of John on the top of a cage wearing Apollo
creed trunks celebrating a victory over Tom Aspinal, maybe as
a recreation of the Revolutionary War in some ways, you
know what I'm saying, And then he put out that
(17:56):
he's re entered the UFC testing pool with his quote
of figured we'd keep everyone's options opened end quote. If
you're Dana White after what he just pulled, although for
the record, Data did not dunk on him after he
pulled this shit, right, Dana was sort of like.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I thought, he took it well.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
He took it pretty well. He moved on if they
allowed John Jones back into the octom am I being
a John Jones hater or what I am? I am
I accurate in saying it's absolute bullshit for him to
give up the heavyweight title, create a two year soap opera,
possibly lie publicly, according to Dana about the specifics of that,
and then be like, oh, fighting on the White House lawn, dude,
(18:35):
I'm back in. Let's go fuck off, log off and
fuck off.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Right, don't need to see you ever again. Goodbye.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
I'm not interested in him fighting, not interested in storylines
around him, didn't even want to put we Actually, Brian
and I debated about how much we even wanted to
put this in the rundown. It seemed relevant enough that
we couldn't ignore it, but less than zero interest in
any of this and partly, but I also think partly
he there's two things happening. One was this news about
the White House. The second part is that I think
(19:05):
he just realizes that his retirement went really, really bad.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Oh how could it?
Speaker 1 (19:09):
And how and everything that he thought was beautiful got torched.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Oh you mean there was no video package talking about
his greatness.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, and so and then the fans being like, yeah,
good riddance, Like there was a lot of that. I
think he's trying to claw a little bit of dignity
back if he can find somebody.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
So he still wants super fights with Derek Lewis and
Jamal Hill, as.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
He famously absolutely uninterested in ever seeing him compete in
any facet whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Well, he's not the only person who were I can't
say largely uninterested, because I've been trying to make fantasy
matchups with Connor McGregor just to use that name to
put over the next superstar. But Connor McGregor also jumped
at the opportunity to return at the White House. Would
be a very intriguing offer, would bring me back in
to focus on my return Correctly. McGregor would also say
(19:52):
Luke that after he wins the Irish presidency. Right, the
history of going to the US and competing on the
White House as the the Irish president is what would
motivate him. He didn't have that same motivation when he
had a broken toe head of the Chandler fight. But
is this the is this the only way it's gonna
bring Like, you know, Mike Michael Chandler's like, see you
at the top Did he mean the top of Capitol Hill?
(20:13):
Is that what he's talking about? Is this the only
way we get McGregor Chandler if it's headlining this White
House paper?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
It seems like that seems like that would that that
to me, whether you're there's one question about like how
interested are you and McGregor at all? And by the way,
by July of next year, he'll either be I think
he'll be just days away from thirty eight. Yeah, so
I mean we're talking old right, old old uh. Independent
(20:38):
of the question about whether or not you want to
see him compete at all. It does though, I mean,
if they go through with this, you would imagine he
would be on the card if he actually made available.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Right, let's let's put any political leanings or tackiness which
is really what I'm focused on it. I mean, like
we're already deep into combat sports and politics being in
just a gross marriage across the board that it's hard
to avoid, so spit separate from those feelings. Let's say
this happens, and let's say, as Donald Trump said, we
want championship fights, we want you know, big names on
there with a good card. How do you book this?
(21:15):
Given the setting and the connection to both America on
America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday and the political side
of it, are you putting only US stars in there?
Because Don Davis put out a tweet that he got
rightfully ripped for which was basically, hey at Donald Trump saying, hey,
here's a PFL supercard that could be the setup. We
could do PFL in the afternoon, UFC at night, and
(21:36):
it was all of his Russian fighters basically you know
what I mean linked together on there? Would this be
American stars only? Would it be American against British to
recreate that seventeen seventy sixth feel What the hell would
we do here?
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I don't know, I don't get it. I mean I
can get that Connor would be something of a.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Connor Chandler as the main event.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yeah, I mean again, Connor is also another reprehensible figure
whose participation in the sport, to me is absolutely unnecessary
nor desired. But again, I would imagine that, I'm a
number of the fans would disagree, So you would imagine
he would be on there by virtue of sports significance.
But I don't know how you match make the rest
of it because you got Kayla as a champion, But
(22:15):
how many more times is she going to compete? How
much time does she have left beyond that? I don't know.
And it's like even then, it's like, well, what American
contenders do you have? I mean, it'll be hard to
say what you have nine months from now because that
would more closely mirror what you could do with the
male American champions. At the moment, we don't have any,
not no male American champion.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Kayla is the only female.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Only one period.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, that's it. So it's a little tough to say
who would go on the car again, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Well, maybe if they did a freedom card with all
Freedom Avengers like Chandler.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Yeah, I mean, I don't. I just don't quite get
what this has to do with Fourth of July. Then
people just have parties fourth of July, and this is
the White House lawn. But again, it'd be one thing
if this was like at the Capitol one Arena, just
you know, a few blocks away, which will be an
appropriate venue. This is on government property and so therefore
it takes on a different kind of significance.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
So it's a very confused thing to do. All right.
Is there a way that Dana could use John's interest
in this in backdoring him into agreeing to do the
Aspinal fight a year from now, John, you got a
full year to get all your excuses on.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
God, I don't even care about that fight.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
I hate this so much.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I don't even fucking care. Dude, Fuck fuck that fight,
and I'm being dead serious, fucking fight. I don't I
don't care.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
If John Davis not realized that when he puts that aggressive,
shameless tweet out there, when he gets off of LinkedIn
long enough to put that tweet out there, that he's
basically telling the world we are number two. He's done,
I guess, saying that we are the co leader, saying
we are number two and we will be the JV
game before the Varsity comes in later it's it's the
card itself that Don put together was actually kind of interesting.
(23:49):
It's the best that PFL actually has.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
To offer, and what not a bad card? But again,
what the fuck does that have to do with fourth
of July? And then why are you trying to be
the fluffer for the you know, the four record?
Speaker 2 (23:58):
It was what Francis versus Bedeem Nemkov in the main event,
then it was Usman versus Hughes. Part two is Mander
mahamedelv in the Cole Maine Dakota, Ditcheva versus uh Gorilla
shows me Liz Carmoush and then you know, further on
their best against their best good card, Don not bad, horrible,
shameless sort of linking.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
To that, but wow, wow, hey Long Island, Luke, would
you want to see Connor? Okay? Okay, so your whole
number one thing is all right, you know, you don't
really care about this kind of thing, and maybe it's
not a cup of tea, but a good card is
a good card. What does a good card to you
for this kind of event?
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Look like not Connor at the top of it, Like
I think, actually good card. I don't know, Just like
a if it's gonna are reassuming it's going to be
a pay per view or a fight night, it has
to be a pay per viewer.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I don't know. I don't fucking know.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
I mean this, who gets to go to it? Is?
Speaker 3 (24:51):
It?
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Is it the kind of thing like the Times Square
card for Turkey where it's only billionaires.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
And in the White House property is again, now this
would include parts you couldn't use, but in totality is
eighteen fucking acres like there is room.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
To you know, they do a bi of all people
that were arrested in jan six, and they'd be partoned
publicly before the main event.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
I actually joke when they announced this, I'm like, instead
of July fourth, this should have been on January sixth.
And by the way, when Dana White dah, I'm sorry,
when when Donald Trump made the speech that sent everyone
to the Capitol, he was at the ellipse just over
the White House lawn to do that, by the way,
so to me, it actually lines up. The symmetry with
jan six is much tighter. Actually, but I forgot I
was gonna say, doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
It was probably about the front lawn and politics and
who's going to be there.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Oh, it was saying the space is big enough to
do The question is not to me, the question is
not do you have enough space? The question is how
much is that going to cost? And the logistics of
getting twenty thousand people onto White House property and off
without a security incident, that is not I mean, even
if you're the most in favor of this, you have
(25:52):
to recognize that is not a small operation. That is
a varied It's literally never been done in the history
of the count Marine won fucking lands in that space.
So like I'm not saying they can't or shouldn't do it,
but more like that is a tough It's one thing
if you go to T mobile or MSG where it's contained,
(26:12):
yes you have all you know, the security protocol and
what has to be in place. That's happened, which is
why he can go to those and get and get
out and there's.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Really no issue.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
The White House lawn to me is obviously the security
will be present, but it's a very very Also by
the way, small note it rains in July in DC,
so what it's an outdoor they put.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
A stage over. You have to put but Dana White
hates doing that, of course, but you know it's going
to change. That is when Crawford Canelo lives up to
expectation from a production standpoint in the Leadis Stadium on netflilx.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
That changes it being there's going to wake up and go,
oh shit.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
We can be you know, Tko is going to get
in his ear and let's let's put Connor in a
soccer stadium or something.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
The whole thing is weird. I don't know how you
book it. You know, I'm sure they can't do it,
but it's weird.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Are you down with the stipulation that to truly celebrate America,
all the fights are US citizens against non US citizens
and all losers get deported? I don't.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
I don't think the Hunger Games should be how we
do official government policy.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
But God only knows what we'll do. What a topic,
what way to lead off the show?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
By the way, I'm happy to not bring this shit up.
This was the biggest news in the fucking sport.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Like what you know what I mean, I'm waiting for
the tweet. I'm sorry the text for my parents that
are gonna inevitably that's going to say, hey, you're covering
the fight at the White House, like you you know,
would you go no, No, that's that's not my thing.
That's in your backyard. You should go to that.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
I don't believe in laundering fascism personally, so I'll skip
that one. All right.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Well, let me tell you about what's a good time
if you put the camera on me, you know when
it is a good time. Right now, you know what
for I'm about to remember where Tequila's story actually began.
You know what I'm talking about talking about seventeen ninety five,
when Cuervo invented tequila. Since then, Cuervo has stayed true
to its roots. We're talking same family, same land, and
you know that same passion. Right two hundred and thirty

on total strikes from Max Holloway, I'm going more right.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
I would definitely take the take the over on that one.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah. By the way, what is you feeling about that one?
That one go the distance? I don't know. I mean, yes,
it should. They're both warriors. They've fought twice already. Both
times I go in the distance. But you never know
in a retirement fight situation, is Poorie gonna go balls
to the wall? Is gonna show up old? You're not
really sure?
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Okay, Long Island, Luke. Obviously the odds are what would
dictate how you would bet. But what would you anticipate
the betting being like in terms of whether in the
fight goes long or not.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
I did peak at them a few weeks ago, and
it was a pickham Ooh, and I think like odds aside,
Dustin's already beaten him twice. It's his retirement fight. It's
in New Orleans. A lot of things are making me point.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
To Dustin here.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
No, but I'm saying, do you think it goes the
full distance?
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Then yeah, I do.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
I definitely do. That's just as easy as that. Also,
I want to remind you that nine days from now,
right Wednesday July fifteenth, am I right on my date,
sir sixteenth, sorry sixteenth, Wednesday July sixteenth, nine days from
now in this studio, it's a Wednesday, eleven am Eastern Time,
UFC three eighteen pregame preview, brought to you by Cuervo
(30:58):
LTBC Jed Messue the second.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
That's right, let's go, We're gonna get lice. Let's go,
okay Cuervo for everybody.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Hey, let's go to topic number two, another weird one,
fresh off of his unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul
in which he really didn't box at all for four
rounds and didn't start punching until there was only two
rounds to go. Julio Sayesar Chavez Junior was detained by
ICE over the weekend and is set for deportation to Mexico,
(31:25):
where he has reportedly wanted for activity related to the
Cineloa cartel. Various reports suggested he might have acted as
something of an enforcer for the cartel. While these chargers
are serious, there's some real questions here, including why was
this fight between Paul and Chavez allowed to go forward
when the information was known before the fight of Chavez's
(31:47):
whereabouts and his situation with the government. Luke, It's been
long known that Chaves had a romantic relationship with somebody
that was a extended connection to the Cineloa cartel through Chao. Yeah,
and there's some reports, as I mentioned, that he was
used as a as a muscleman, a body to rough
some people up. We've got some Homeland Security comments here
(32:08):
and then we can react to this is a wild.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Ask believe this story?
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Uh what does it say there off the top?
Speaker 1 (32:14):
You take off the DHS GOV watermark? All right, well,
all right, Ice arrested Mexican boxer and criminal illegal alien
Julio says our Chavez Junior. He is now being processed
for exped at a removal from the United States. This
Cineloa cartel affiliate. But they're making some broad declarations about
something that hasn't been proven in court. But Okay has
an active arrest warrant in Mexico. That might be true
(32:34):
for sure for his involvement in organized crime and trafficking firearms,
ammunitions and explosives. Under President Trump, no one is above
the law, including world famous athletes. Our message to any
cartel affiliates in the US is clear. We will find
you and you will face consequences. The days of unchecked
cartel violence are over. End quote.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
We also have video of Chavez Junior getting captured from
a home that he owns outside of Last Angelus. There
wild stuff. So look, the biggest question here is related
to the timing of this. It seems like it was approven.
That's the only question, Okay, But it does seem like
it's a proven fact that they were investigating him leading
(33:12):
up to the fight. They knew his whereabouts, they knew
the situation. They waited for the fight to continue is
that a call that Jake Paul makes to the way
to Houston says can we wait until after this or
does he not have any knowledge? And this is a
surprise to him because it's a shocker to see this
play out and this gentleman get deported. Who I mean,
it's tough to say anything good about Shavis Junior right
now or the last twelve years of his career. And
(33:32):
he certainly didn't give himself the best chance to win
when he fought Jake Paul just a week and a
half ago. What the hell is this?
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Let me just say this to me, the ice component
is really not even remotely the most interesting or even
relevant or even part I even care to discuss. Sure,
it's the Cartel association for me. Now again, there have
been a number of reports allegend connections. As you indicated
that there would be guys that the Cartel would have
some issue with hang him upside down and they again
(34:01):
the allegations are that Chavez would box him up like
a body bag as they hung upside down.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
And his baby mama is somehow related.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Is related to El Chappo. So to me, you know
the fact that I scrabbed him up and put him
into tention is you know, grabs headlines. But these are allegations,
and so I want to be very clear. I don't
I saw Mexican media over the weekend because I went
and tried to find what anybody was saying. His dad
(34:30):
and his family put out a statement, his dad did
an interview on the street actually, and then his family
put out a statement. They're claiming he's innocent and this
will all be proven.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
You know.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Of course your response might be that, well, of course,
you know, yeah, family is gonna say that. So I
don't know how to respond to these allegations except to
say this BC, if they are true, like that he
acted as some kind of a thug, trafficker, an enforcer
of some kind for the cartel, even as like an affiliate.
Not he's not really in it, but you know.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Next to it.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Would that really surprise you? No, it wouldn't surprise me either.
I think that's the takeaway for me is like, I
don't know if they're true, and if he is innocent,
I do hope.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
That remotely surprised that he's connected to this. The question
is why would they let the fight go forward?
Speaker 1 (35:14):
I have no way of answering.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
I mean, there's similar. I guess the thing that it
reminds me of is in twenty twelve, when Floyd Mayweather
was sent to go to jail for so much smaller
domestic rights, but the state of law of Nevada, the
you know, the commission in Las Vegas, they basically decided,
let's let's let's push Floyd's jail sentence to start back
a month so that he can fight Codo first. And
(35:36):
the justification was that that pay per view would bring
in so many millions to the city and hotel and
gambling and all that that we were just like, what,
you're going to delay his jail sentence so that the
everyone can make money off him. Is this similar to that?
Did the government make that decision of let's let him
go forward with the fight against you know, America's Jake
Paul first he was gonna lose. It's just bizarre to me.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
I mean again, this is one of the things where
it's like, I don't know how you have these conversations
without some degree of a political But.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
He's showing up to the way and he's showing up
to the press conference. They know where the frick is.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
How tight are Jake, Paul and Trump? A serious question?
How tight are that?
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Do you remember inauguration day when Jake, Logan and Connor
McGregor were in the van with Missus going.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
To the So what he got invited?
Speaker 2 (36:22):
A big deal? That doesn't mean that much? Okay that
I think that means a lot. Does not mean a lot.
Who else was there? That he's a.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Respected booster, That doesn't necessarily mean that he has a
bat phone he can call the admin and tell them
about his interests.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
You know, I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
I don't know. Part of me wonders like did they
know about it and that they saw Jake was a
booster and they're like, wait till the money is made
and then do it.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
That is one.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
But I mean, that's just a conspiracy theory. I don't
have any I don't I don't even have the slightest
degree of proof to But it came.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
Out in the news that the that the government was
was monitoring this. Yes, they knew that to them, that
he showed up on TV and they're like, oh, we
got to go get them now, Like they knew that's right?
Speaker 1 (37:00):
That there is again, it's it's it's just but certainly
to the point that this whole thing went down, it
raised deep amounts of suspicion about what was known and when.
And then also with Chavez Junior, Dude, this guy, I mean,
it was an uninspiring pick when Jake you know, selected
him for any number of reasons, but part of it
was Remember he had gun charges previously related to the
(37:21):
you know, getting out of rehab.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
And he had to work visa in the States I
think two years ago, but it expired.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
He inspired, Like, the guy is a fuck up of
epic proportions, So it would not surprise me if after
he has his day in court these charges are proven, Like,
I would not in any way be surprised.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
But the whole thing is fucking wacky. Is another epic
stain on the downhill slide of Shaves Junior.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
He is the opposite of his dad. He is the
absolute opposite in every fucking way.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Well, I mean, his dad also post career, got involved
in a lot of drugs and a lot of craziness,
not to this level, but it didn't derail his life
like this.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Sure, sure, I mean, this was like I'm not gonna say,
it's an international manhunt that's not right. I mean, they
probably knew his whereabouts, but like, this is international, one
country telling another one. We've got a warrant for this
guy for cartel behavior. Send us him now, that is another.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Level, back to back set of topics.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
But I can't believe this. I can't believe this is
real life. But this is where we are.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
There we go. I mean, there's not much else to
say besides I guess I'm not surprised, But also, like,
can we get in on this timeline if.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
He's a question making even if he's exonerated, Like so,
let this is a serious question. Let's say we're gonna
send him back to Mexico. He's gonna have whatever's gonna.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
Happen to him.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
But let's say that the family is right and this
was somehow I don't know, a misunderstanding. Even with that,
is he ever gonna fight in the States again?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
I don't see how right if he gets deported, I
don't see.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
How well just because you got deported to mean there's
no way back to.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
Work visa and a certain I just don't know what,
Like this was the last carnival fight opportunity to get
in shape and make a little bit of money. Yeah,
he got in shape, he made the little bit of money.
He barely fought, so he's a full time con artist
as a fighter.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Yeah, even without this might like what's.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Left Darren Hill or you know, is it gonna box
An Easton Gibb. I mean, like what's next? Like where
else do you go from here? There's really nowhere else
to go unless you're gonna do like BKFC or offer
yourself in an MMA fight. I don't know like that. Yeah,
I'm just.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Saying, even if he's exonerated, I feel like it's done.
It's done.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
It's long, it's long done. Wow, let's go to topic now.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Can we have a fucking topic that isn't terrible?
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Well, we got another one, that one that might be done. Hey,
let's talk about one championship and the unfortunate slide that
the promotion continues to go on. You heard when when
good Old Acts from MMA draw broke that one championships
run on in the States, at least on Prime Video
seems to be coming to an end. Well, now we
have some financial updates about more of an aggressive decline.
(39:46):
Reports indicate that one championship has a consolidated loss of
ninety million dollars in twenty twenty three and quote cumulative
deficits now exceeding five hundred and thirty million against just
twenty four points six million and net assets at year
end end. Quote that comes from journalist Timothy Wheaton, who
we of course have had on this show in the past.
(40:07):
Just tim to preview some big events down there in
one championship in general, kickboxing had for the for the
the big which fight was that it was the one fight,
the kickboxing fight box and fight under the one banner. Yes, Luke,
there's been an exodus recently of executive leaders of fighters
wating to carr, federal canceled events, virtually any other marker
of decline that one can point to. What is the
(40:30):
story in your eyes of one's decline and what does
it mean for MMA that they are almost certainly going
out of business at a time when they're less and
less being considered in an MMA promotion?
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Yeah, the end is near.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
The end isneer?
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Put the graphic back up if you could long look.
I want to go through it here piece by piece.
You indicated the accumulative five hundred and thirty million in
total losses since the inception. But there's other parts of
the story. We won't go through the whole part of it,
but very quickly, the QIA, the Guitar Investment Authority, they
are apparently not thrilled with the way in which their
(41:03):
investment has gone. The Amazon Prime Video and Turner Sports component.
They are basic, Well, Turner has already exited and as
appears at Prime, they.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Kind of canceled their US expansion. Align with that.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
That's right, and they now that's not to say they're
getting out of MA because they may want to get
into the UFC business. They're they're room to be part
of that conversation right.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Iving get into the UFC business.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
The Amazon Prime is considered to be a potential destination
for UFC pay per views. Yeah, for the next TV deal.
The esports thing folding, I don't think is a big deal. Also,
you can see that you know, Chatre had public outbursts
and feuds with both Japanese fighters and promotions, which I
don't think did him a great degree of good. But
they had to cancel their August show and rebooked it
for a year later. Will he still do the Apprentice
(41:43):
reality season four?
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Whatever it is? Three?
Speaker 1 (41:45):
I don't know, but like there's been staffing exodus, there's
been layoffs, there's been key executives who've left. Thank you
for the graphic. I mean you get the idea like BC,
this is the beginning of the end, or some portion
of the end. It's not really far away at this point.
And the thing that I would take away from this,
this is just a lesson that I draw. Everyone's gonna
have different ones every time. I cannot tell you how
(42:07):
many MMA organizational deaths I have lived through. I have
lived through countless of them, Belatore being the most recent,
but it goes on long, long, long before that. And
I do not mind, in any way, shape or form,
have any issue pointing to chatry or other decisions that
(42:31):
were made in that organization as a reason for their woes,
like to degree to a degree self inflicted. There's simply
no question about it. And as you saw on that
graphic card, one of those reasons was this feuding that
he gets into with sometimes Japanese fighters and promoters, although
that it's not just limited to them.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
And did they just recently move the home office.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
They moved it to Thailand, Yes, which is obviously going
to be a lot cheaper than Singapore that I don't
think is the biggest deal in the world, But the
one I want to make is BC. There is no
possible way anyone can make the argument to me that
Oscar de la Hoya is a better promoter than Chatri.
Absolutely know the fuck he is not, and yet he
(43:11):
is still quite profitable in boxing. And part of that reason,
of course, is because the way which that business is
structured that allows for a more robust competition. People are
gonna clown one, and there's plenty of reasons to do that.
But BC, the UFC getting into this grappling push, to me,
was heavily influenced by the work One did first. In fact,
they took well Mikey Mussimenti left, but Mikey Musimentchi got
(43:33):
on the MMA fans radars by virtue of what happened
at one one doing four ounce muay Thai has been
something of a revelation. It would not surprise me at
all if you see American and potentially even UFC promoters
getting into four ounce, if not muy Thai, some kind
of four ounce kickboxing.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
Clee combat monoposity takeover.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
So my point being is one actually with their rule
set and some of the changes that they made to
how an MMA product can look. I've said this before.
They were the one true alternative to the UFC in
ways that PFL could never be. They can't manage their business,
both because of the nature of the industry as well
as their own errors. But they did make some important contributions.
(44:14):
It's just I hope everyone can read the writing on
the wall. They're not going to be here too much.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Well, you can read Timothy Wheaton's Low Kick MMA story
that goes in deeper depth on their financial woes. How
much is this tied to what we talked about last
week from the standpoint of that UFC grip on the
industry and how it essentially is suffocating all potential in
the States, at least it's suffocating all potential.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Well, the bummer here, I mean, I guess here's another
thing that one did I think is kind of interesting.
One was able to work in conjunction with a willing
commission in this particular case, Colorado, to have a different
rule set.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
This is what I mean.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
People are like, oh, Chatri is a terrible promoter. Again,
I'm not going to sit here and be like he's
a great promoter, but he is definitely not worse than
some very profitable box promoters, and you cannot deny one
has been an interesting contributor with rule differences, product differences, differentiation,
a lot of things that I think other promoters are
gonna pick up on when they can to bring differences
(45:14):
to the space.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
They were leaders in that.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Way, and if it was a different kind of market
to the point you're raising, some of that might have succeeded.
But that's just not the world we're in anymore. So
guys like this will just again, he's got plenty of problems,
plenty of problems. But you know, I don't know, man,
I'm gonna miss the one product when it's gone, like
there's not who's just like one? Right now?
Speaker 2 (45:37):
In mma no one? There isn't one?
Speaker 1 (45:40):
How much how much of a one? Well, look how
much of a one? I'm not gonna say, fan, but
watcher of their events?
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Have you been?
Speaker 3 (45:47):
I really? I own Amazon fire sticks, so when I
open it, it'll like at the banner up top, show
me that one is live. But up until I see
that banner that it's live, I have no idea it's
even happening, right watch Friday mornings though the muay Thai
those bro those diliver right, and early those they.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Do those deliver. These are three awful topics to get.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Yeah, we need a palate. Cleans are real bad?
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Can we show for next yearning?
Speaker 1 (46:10):
Which is? Which is real? But I'm like, what were
the other stories?
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Irrelevant? Breaking news?
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Let's hear these.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
Matt Cameron leaving Pearl Jam after twenty seven years as
their drummer.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
That's a b c BC. What's your take?
Speaker 2 (46:24):
That's pretty big, that's pretty big. Yeah, why what? What?
What happened?
Speaker 3 (46:27):
He was in Soundgarden, he was in Pearl Jam. I
don't know what happened. I just got an email from
Pearl Jam saying that that camera the fan club, you know,
bring back jack Irons? Right, Yeah, dude, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
What was him on No Code?
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Right?
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Wasn't that the one he put those rhythms on those?
Speaker 3 (46:43):
We're pretty sure?
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Who was the guy who left the Beatles before they
were the Beatles?
Speaker 2 (46:47):
That was his name? Yeah, he was the bassist and
art student.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yeah what a fuck?
Speaker 2 (46:53):
Are you talking about? The original drummer? Pete Best?
Speaker 1 (46:55):
Pete Best, that's the one, Pete Best.
Speaker 2 (46:56):
That's the one I always think of Ringo replaced him.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Yeah, he fucked up real proper, didn't he He did,
But he got to live the rest of his life.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Being the you know the trivia question. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
the fifth Beatle or.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Snyder saying they kicked him out?
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Who Pete oh Pete Best? Yeah like they did? Uh,
like they did Jason News Who no, No, who's the
guitar Dave Mustaine like Metallica did Dave Mustayne. But now
we got you this bus ticket to the middle of
fuck balls Kansas Day?
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Or that time dying fetus kicked that child porn guy
out of the bad Oh no, that was Cannibal Cord.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
He was not child porn. He had a skull in
his possessions. He was having mental problem.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Do you think he had glass jars filled with snakes,
like a whole room of just snakes.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
Me let me say something, If you own snakes, you're
a weird motherfucker. Okay.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Do you think we have members of our audience who
who own multiple states or the.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Last time I said that, I had about four or
five dms from snake owners assuring me that they were correct.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Do you think they can win our MK? In your house.
Uh set contest where you wow?
Speaker 3 (48:02):
I was going to say, everyone competing to have MK
in their house definitely owned snakes.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
I tell you what, I tell you what.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
I could be convinced to go into that house, that
house of literally the house of snakes.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
I could be convinced.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
All right, can we have a fucking topic.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
That's not Let's go to topic number four should be better.
We are at the yeah, yeah, here we go. We're
at the midway point of the combat sports calendar in
twenty twenty five. It's been a while for six months. Uh,
A lot still to be determined from the standpoint of
the business end of things. But as we look, a
lot of media outlets, of course are putting out their
half year awards Fighter of the Year, Fight of the
(48:42):
Year at the midway point, Let's try a little something
different by looking ahead. This year is indeed half over.
So what do you want to see Luke in combat
sports for the remainder of twenty twenty five. This could
be fights, events, rule changes, more breasts on TV, whatever
you're into. Put together a list when we both did
(49:03):
of our top three biggest priorities for the rest of
the year.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
So I thought a lot about this one. I've got,
I got a wish list.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
I got three as well, because that was the that
was the assignment. All right, You're like, I got seventeen
because I was thinking.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
I was like, is there a rule change I'd like
to see go through? Is there some kind of you know,
special event? But like Canelo Crawford's going to scratch a
few of those itches, So no.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
I could have put that on there, just the fallout
of Canelo Crawford and what that can do to UFC
stadium fights, which is you seem to be a big
believer that that could do a lot. I do. I do. Yeah,
those are cultural events. Those are time in a place.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
I said, dude, Canelo Crawford being on Netflix in the
way it's going is exactly what American boxing. But it's
already on the list, so I can't check.
Speaker 2 (49:46):
Why don't you give me number three? What do you got?
Speaker 1 (49:47):
All right? For number three? This is again, this is aspirational. Yes,
Francis and Ganu versus Tom Aspital. Let's go Francis and
versus Tom Aspital.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
Who the fuck doesn't want to see that?
Speaker 3 (49:58):
What?
Speaker 2 (49:58):
Okay? If that that was to happen in the second
or not even just to happen, but to be announced
in the second half of twenty five. What would have
to happen for that to become a reality? Would Francis
have to end the PFL deal in some form.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
That's the only way he would which would not be great.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
But then they'd have to tell Dana you're sitting this
one out. Oh you mean TKOK would be like Dana,
you're kind of out on.
Speaker 1 (50:21):
The issue with that is Francis can do well on
pay per view, but not necessarily as the A side.
He works well as a very good B side, So
I can see why TKO wouldn't necessarily put pressure on Dana.
But let's just put that to the side. CORP promotion
we know is not going to work. But it's at
least conceivable that with six months six months ish left
in the year, you could get Francis back in UFC.
(50:44):
Tom Aspinall even said this week there ain't many guys
out there for.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
Him to fight. He goes.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
I think even said the division is not exactly on fire.
He knows, he knows Francis Andnghanu versus tom Aspinall it
would not last very long, but for as long as
it lasted, Like BC on prom night, he's gonna give
you all the pumping he's got. I would love to
see Francis and Gondo versus Tom Aspital.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
That is a great one for number three, right there.
I like that, all right, number three. It's very simple,
even though I broke the rule in the opening topic
of the show, and I break it regularly as a
collective fan media member in combat sports, but specifically UFC
less talk and jocking about John Jones and Connor McGregor
more talking jocking about Ilia Taporia in Islam Mahachev and
(51:29):
obviously that plays into the idea of hey, UFC, promote
your stars, build two big fights. I want to be
looking at Ilia versus Islam as the UFC's version of
Mayweather Paqiao. It's probably gonna take over a year to
build to there, due to them being in separate divisions
in Islam, needing to fight for that welterweight title. But
Luke I fall victim of this all the time. Oh,
it's a it's a it's a dead you know, it's
(51:51):
an in between week. What are we going to talk about? Oh? Well,
Connor just tweeted this. John just tweeted this. As Rick
Patino once famously said, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrison not coming
through that door. Okay, bird not coming through that door.
Their aer is over. They've they've worn out their space
in the headlines. Let's let's build up what we have
now and what we have now, whether you're talking about
Ilia and and Islam, Jack Dela Mattelande like like there's
(52:12):
a new breed that's here. DDP is breaking out as
a star. Morob although he's in his you know, mid
to late thirties, is on top of his game. Let's
build the next stars of the future, and let's build
the next the roads to get to those big super fights,
and obviously Elia versus Islam is a big one in
that regard. Let's can we put the past away, Luke,
because I do wish you would step back from that ledge,
(52:32):
my friend.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend.
There you go cut ties with all. Hey, Oasis came
back this weekend, did they?
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Yeah? Wild Weekend, Black Sabbath. Last show ever. Oasis makes
a big return in people are emoting like like crazy.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
It was a soundtrack to my to my teens. I
don't mind little oysters. I like Oasis. All right, can
I go number two? Well, not in my seat.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
This is Joseph A. Banks.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Yeah sure over there, dude, I have to go back
there and then commemorate the shit with another one would
be so fucking great.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
I tell you that story. What we used to vacation
when I was a kid in New Hampshire like Winnipesaki,
as a lot of people did, right uh Lacon in
New Hampshire, the whole area. My dad used to go
out there for motorcycle trips every year. He always told
us as a kid about this place, this ice cream
place called Sawyers in which one time he absolutely tore up,
like tore up, like he said, people were coming into
(53:28):
the restroom and then going, oh my god, like he
tore up one time like a Joseph A. Banks style,
like quadruple flusher. And he told us for years about
the Sawyer's massacre. And he's like, one of these days
we're gonna go back there, We're gonna go on vacation.
I'm gonna show you the spot of the Sawyer's massacre,
you know, which is just you know, growing up white
trash and these are things you care about.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
I like how he's treating it like a slave rebellion
that belongs in the history.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Yes, like, come see this historic location where he almost
killed someone. Oops a right that. We show up a
couple of years later. Okay, at this Sawyer's ice cream
place outside of like Winnipesaki, and he's I'm like that,
where's it. We walk inside. He's like, hold on, I'll
show you. It's over here. We go over to where
the bathroom door was. The door is still there, but
(54:12):
they've painted over it and they moved the bathroom and
I'm like, wow, dad, you really did shut it down.
This is incredible.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
He forced them to relocate to remodel the entire building.
You know what, respect to a problem?
Speaker 2 (54:27):
Yeah? Please please respect.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
By the way, I took a dump here before the
show and I get out, I had to go wash
my hands. There's a guy who pissed who who had
an open drink like this, like with a can and
left it on the counter. I'm like, dude, I just
farted particles like straight up aids into the air and
you're just drinking that in straight up form.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
Freedom. All right, give me your number two, please, number two.
Speaker 1 (54:53):
It's aspirational, BC. It's aspirational with the minimal time we
have left, and I know one of.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
These guys has well.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Both of these guys are supposed to have fights coming up,
but I guess we'll see. But before the end of
the year. My aspirational whistlet wish list Gervonte Davis versus Shakirsty.
Let's go right, how could you go wrong with this one?
In fact, to these two guys I think are the
best in class in this general wait, vicinity, let's put it.
We know Tank is supposed to fight Lamont Roach in August,
(55:22):
but that even hasn't been formally announced. I don't know
if that's gonna happen. Schikor has a fight coming up
this weekend where Turkey is doing ship posting around it
and it's very annoying.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
But this is the one that's most interesting because Shakur,
to me, is more skillful than Tank, but Tank is
I think underrated in his skill and clearly the dominant
puncher between the two. How this one would go to
me is very very interesting, and certainly for the American
boxing fan and this audience, this would be a real
like Canela Crawford. I'm not saying to be the same level,
(55:53):
but like that a nice shot in the arm to
really get it going again. Tank versus shakars on my wish.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
Lie Oka love that and it ties perfectly into my
number two, which is the rejuvenation of American boxing. I
need a shot in the arm of American boxing and
that can be a few things. It can be a
soft landing for the prominent American boxing promoters that right now,
as we look at the state of boxing's broadcasting landscape,
we don't know where Top Rank is going to go
after their ESPN deal concludes at the end of this month.
(56:20):
You hear rumors about PBC's future. Luke, Obviously, for all
of these American promoters, we'd love a soft landing for
them and their fighters. And I think just in general,
look Sadi's playing a big role in this Turkey's playing
a big role in boxing, and we can get on
certain parts of it that we don't like, but it's
doing a lot of good in the same regard, but
our fights like Brian Norman Universus Devin Haney better off
in riod or are they better off at the Barclay
(56:42):
Center right, or are they better off at Phillips Arena
and State Farm Arina in Atlanta. Like my whole point is,
there are ways we can reinvigorate American boxing again, and
maybe Canelo Crawford in Las Vegas will be a big
part of that. But I'd like to see the health restored.
Turkey's Ring magazine series has been on American soil almost
exclusively except for that first one with U Bank and Ben.
(57:03):
And it's not that the US needs to be the
center of the boxing universe at all times, but when
you do disregard it, we know about the competition peoples,
like why does the US not support their homegrown boxers
like they do in the other smaller countries because the
competition field is too wide for people's attention and pro sports,
scripted TV shows all of that. There are some things
(57:26):
that can be done subtly to rebuild the strength of
American boxing, and some of that, Luke is the reputation
of the core key young American boxers. It's been a
rough time for the Four Princes, the Five six Kings,
the four Horsemen, whatever the hell you want to call them.
All of them have had their own kind of setbacks
of late to either the reputation or on their record.
(57:46):
I'd like to see a return for these guys in
a big way, to get back to not just their
winning ways, but to make big fights and particularly do
them on US soil and big arenas in which the
fans can show up. I mean, it's I'm not against
the Turkey experiments of Times Square in general. That one
turned out to be a failure for the boxing portion
of it. But let's get it right in the States.
Let's make boxing big again. And if this is Turkey
(58:08):
season to control boxing, then let's put on really big
events in the US, like he's a big part of
with Canelo Crawford.
Speaker 1 (58:15):
And let's get not in Alcatraz, like just do it
in a way that's accessible.
Speaker 2 (58:19):
Yeah, I mean, I don't even need this tennis stadium,
although like it's a unique effort. He's going to give
it a try. Let's see what happens. But let's go
back to like if Ryan Garcia is fighting, let's do
it in the States in a city where you know
people are going to turn up. Let's make American boxing healthy.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
Yeah, And I think to do that to me, it's
like I understand that, like you know, Time Square in Alcatraz.
He sound exotic, but I don't know how well that works,
you know. I think what's gonna work a lot better
is to your point, Barclay Center, MSG. That's like the
places that fans know and love and are and are
suited for this kind of a thing. You put on
great fights, and you put him in big venues. I
(58:53):
promise you everything is going to go healthy all the
way downstream, all right, b see from my number one,
y'all convinced me. I put my ear in the words
of good will hunting. I put my ear to the grindstone.
I listened. I was convinced on this one.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
It's not your fault, Lucas, not your fault.
Speaker 1 (59:15):
In all seriousness, I would love in twenty twenty five
if by January one, twenty twenty six, we can say,
you know, what was so fucking awesome about this year?
How about Iliot to Pori versus Islama.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
Come, come on, let's go. It doesn't have to fall
into this calendar year. Show us that you're building the
bridge to it.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
If they could even like, you know, in December, you know,
in February, whatever we're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Ilia and Islam.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
I would even I would even take the confirmation of
the news in twenty twenty five as like one of
my things on my wish.
Speaker 2 (59:48):
List when they make when they make Jack Della Maddelena
defending against Islamaha Chev, whether that's October, Abu Dhabi NYC
in November. We need Iliotopoor in the front road. Do
we need coming in and facing off, even if that
wouldn't be the next fight, just to continue to tell
that story.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
And build Listen, I don't I know Dana was upset
with Patty being in the cage. I wasn't. I thought that,
not that he was my first choice for the title shot,
but just that they were trying to promote that way.
I was two thumbs up.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Give them something to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
Give them something to talk about, give them a story.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Ie do would you have consummated with her at a
prime who by right now? Do what I was wondering,
if you would give her something to talk about? Okay,
you know what I mean. I'm not people are people
talking about people?
Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
You know, I'm not typically into banging hags, but uh,
that really derailed me. To collect I have to collect
my brain, Okay, but to the point I'm trying to raise.
I don't even need to sell the fight as a fight,
but as an event. How big it could be?
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
A rivalry.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Let's go a rivalry and it's one where like the
steaks are obviously huge, but there's deep intrigue about the
fight itself too and how go and what it would
look like and just what it could do for MMA.
You know, again, you can have your thoughts about the
Trump thing at the UFC at the White House, that
would be a big event, But I'm talking about you know,
we couldn't figure out what fights would go on there
because we're just trying to like noodle, this fight is
(01:01:15):
would be enormous in scale bc Ilia versus Islam in
twenty twenty five, or let's say first quarter twenty twenty six.
How many pay per view buys does that sell?
Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
It's it's hard to say in modern times. Yeah, especially
two guys who are just hitting their well not I
mean Topori is just hitting the early peak of his
true crossover stardium. Yeah, Islam has had that abbrub and
made it his own as pomp for punk King for
a while. I don't know if that's the right decider
on how big this would be in the modern day,
because I mean, do you hear a DC said public
(01:01:47):
doesn't think any fight is going to get a.
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
The people have to complaining about piracy since.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
The intention of pirates, so that's not necessarily the But
my thing is like, if UFC is going to Netflix
in some form in their next deal, which seems likely,
that is the kind of fight right off to kick
off that air so right, and you're so right, you're right,
and it's not OBC you're always rubbing pro wrestling back
on this, guys. Promotion is pro wrestling. Fight promotion is right, Like,
(01:02:13):
that's what it is. The pageantry, the sport, the storytelling,
the getting people to care about two people's stories that
are coming together to consummate it and figure it out. Right,
we don't know if we're fucking he fight, No, we're fighting.
That's what we're doing. Get people involved in those stories, right,
that's how you sell fights.
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
I didn't get to the sport via pro wrestling. I
got to it through martial arts, So it took me
a while to I was in denial about this for
a long time. MMA is real pro wrestling, That's what
it is. It's it's obviously real, it's obviously unscripted, it's
obviously a real sport, and you can only you could
enjoy it however you want. But the model that it's
based off of is pro wrestling. They just made it real.
(01:02:52):
So why not lean into that a little bit, especially
when you've got number basically number one, number two in
the freaking world in this particular for instance fighting.
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
All right, let's go to my number. And that's a
great Your list is great. It's all optimistic stuff that
we want, that we need. I'm still yet stuck trying
to fix the issues in the sports with my three
optimistic hopes, and my number three is the separation of
church and state in combat sports, between boxing and MMA
and world governments. It is out of control right now.
And it's not just the right wing evil march of
(01:03:24):
trump in whether you love it or you hate it,
it's just like, let's get back to the fights. I'm
sick of that. Every week we're talking about the effect
on this certain fight. What does that have on the
sports washing of this nation? Or how close are we
to UFC Moscow with Putin and Caderov cage side Luke,
we are at a point where it's never been. I
(01:03:44):
want to say it's never been this colluded, you know,
of this much of a marriage, but that's not always true,
because whether it's the rumble in the jungle or the
thrill in Manila, a lot of those fights are going
to those exotic nations for political reasons. But it's become
a headline story in everything that we do, and maybe
some of that is on us to not harp on
that and push that aside and focus more on what
(01:04:04):
we're actually here for, which is the fights. The fighters
and the storylines and all that. But I'm really sick
of government contracts and oh, we're going to this scary
nation just because they paid us more, and I'm what
am I asking for for that to end? Maybe some
of it is just our focus on it, but using
combat sports as a way to further political strategies, whether
(01:04:26):
it's this nation or others. I don't like the taste
of that and my cup of tea, Okay, I'd like
to get away from that. Is that possible?
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
I share your.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Hope.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
I share your hope. I would like to have a
show where we could just focus on that and that
be the only story one and to an extent.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Some of that is on us for sure. Yeah, no,
like but like some of it is. It's hard to
look past the glare of that. Sometimes it's just.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Yeah, the reality also is but this is this is
the problem. The problem is like, once you know how
the sausage is made, it's hard to unsee it. Yes,
And and you know, I get that there's going to
be the vast majority of fans are just not going
to care about that stuff. And I totally get it,
and I understand, and we don't need to bring it
up anymore, especially for today's show, which has been a
lot of it. But it is a real part of
the fight game. And it's to your point you raise,
(01:05:13):
go back and look at the what was the ali
form of documentary when we were kings, yes, right, and
you can see how much the government of at the
time of Zimbabwe was playing a role here in sorry sorry,
I apologize it was because it was in Conchasa, right,
so you could see how much of a role that
was all being played. It's not new, it's absolutely not new,
(01:05:37):
but the degree to which the volume has been turned
up more recently that is kind of new.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's a lot of things lately.
Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
Regardless, I just want good fights that people want to
pay money to see.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
And there are people in our fan base that love us,
but they're sick of that bullshit too. We can make
a choice to push back a little bit more and
pull into what actually matters. Let's do that. Push pull, poll, Okay,
push and pull. Those are our three wishes for the
rest of the year. Hopefully the combat gods can deliver.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
If I get any one of those three, I'd be pumped.
If I get any one of the three eye lists
that I'd be pumped one three.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Let's transition to our final topic of this Monday episode,
and that is a boxing round up. There's been a
interesting mix of headlines of late that we love to
get LT's reaction, and I'll chime in as well. First
and foremost luked heavyweight former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has
done the Tyson Fury bit of late where one interview
he says I'm retiring ever fighting again, the next interview
(01:06:34):
he says I'll only come back for Anthony Joshua, and
then the next interview he says, I already have a
date next to April. I have a location Wembley Stadium
and oh, by the way, I'm fighting Alexander Usik for
the third time. This is something that Turkey alas Sheik
himself has tweeted out. So, Luke, it's not a surprise
that Fury would break yet another retirement. He's an opportunist.
(01:06:57):
He's always chasing the biggest payday and biggest fight possible.
How surprising in your opinion is it that we've ultimately
announced his comeback fight a year in advance and the
opponent when that opponent has a undisputed rematch fight coming
up on the nineteenth against Dana Dubaugh. We don't even
know who's going to be the champion after this. This
seems kind of weird, doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
I don't get it at all. Are we even sure
that it's real? I mean, I know he said it's real.
Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Do we know it's real? We have some comments from
Turkey that seem to back up that it is real. Now.
I do know that Turkey and Tyson Fury did meet,
and here is a Ring Magazine tweet that said Tyson
Fury is said to come out of retirement and return
to boxing in twenty twenty six. Turkey Aloshkaz has confirmed
in the quote from Turkey as I talked with him
and I have his word to have him in Riad
says in twenty twenty six, we have a rabbit to
(01:07:44):
haunt end quote. We he's always partnered with Tyson. It
seems like right like there's a certain fighter like you know,
Yeat Berlin goat telling Shiraz like yours.
Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
Like I get that you work with the guy, but
you're also.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Hunting the guy. Canello telling Crawford your Turkey's boy. But
that whole rabbit to hunt things seems like it is Usik.
And now Fury put out on his socials that it's
going to be Usik. You have Usik's team kind of
half cryptically confirming it. I've never seen something like this
where you kind of call your shot. Isn't he gonna
fight Anthony Joshua eventually for big money?
Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Like here's the thing about test I Fury coming back.
I don't really need it, But if he'll fight Anthony Joshua,
I'd be cool. I'd be I'd be pumped to see that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Actually, but a.
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
Third fight with Usik, I'm not sure I get the point.
Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
The soond one went didn't go any better for him.
In fact, it went a little bit worse. They were close, competitive,
great fights. Both were won fairly cleanly and clearly by Usik.
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
Yeah, I mean, I want to be clear, Usik knocked
him down well more than that, Like if you just
watched the rounds Usik clearly figures him out. Yeah, each fight,
why would that change? I don't, I don't quite.
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
I don't, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
I guess I just don't really get it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
I mean something, But what would be an ideal build
to that? In my opinion, we're gonna get Usik du
two and for all you know, if du Wall wins,
they'll probably go into a trilogy in that one. Yeah,
you do, Fury versus Joshua at the end of this year,
that's the one I care about. And then the winner
of that this is the winner of the other for
the title. And if that's Fury, if he beats Joshua
Wich A lot of us think he would, then you
(01:09:14):
get one more chance back at the undisputed crown in
that trilogy with Usik. I wouldn't hate it if you
go that way, but to just call your shot with
date stadium an opponent and we don't even know the situations.
It's interesting. What else is interesting is the build to
this trilogy versus Dmitri Beval in Artur better BV. After
two incredibly close and competitive and classic title fights for
(01:09:37):
the undisputed light heavyweight Championship, we thought we were getting
this trilogy at the end of this year, so did
at least one of the two fighters. Then there was
some tweets that came out that seemed to change that,
in which that there was a tweet registering from the
Ring magazine account and from Mike Coppinger that ultimately said
talks of the trilogy have been put off until next
(01:09:57):
year because both fighters would prefer trilogy to take place
in Russia. We all accepted that as interesting, but okay,
and if you think about.
Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
It, actually, actually I don't mind that at all.
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
That's I'm saying, two Russian fighters, this is such a
big deal for their careers and their legacies and their country.
I'm all for that. But then you get after Betterbie
of coming out in ig and almost refuting it, in
which he said I received hundreds of questions about the
third fight. That's why I decided to answer here. As
you know, the first fight for the Absolute Champion title
took place in October last year. After five years of
(01:10:28):
attempts to unify belts, it was still successful. The day
after the first fight, we agreed on a rematch, which
was to take place within four months, despite the fact
that I was after that it was after the operation,
and my coach and doctor were categorically against such an
early rematch. After the second fight, I immediately showed interest
(01:10:49):
in an early third fight, and at first there were
rumors about the fight in August, but my opponent said
in an interview that he wanted to hold it into
late autumn, then at the end of the year year
and now it is completely unknown when And here's the
key quote, how old do I have to be so
that we can fight for the third time? Luke, This
(01:11:09):
does not sound like a man who is looking to
push this off until next year and fight him in Russia.
This seems like a man who wants to close the
book on this rivalry. Yes, he lost the rematch to
Bevall very close, just like the first fight. Is this
a case of Turkey and Coppat You're getting exposed for
propaganda that might not be truthful.
Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
In this case, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
I don't know. I don't know what to make of this.
Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
I guess I don't really understand what's happening here. This
is a better question for you to answer. Is that
what you think that?
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
It feels like that it feels like they were almost
speaking for better bev and then better beev was like,
hold on, guys, let me speak for myself on this
ig post. He's eventually he's basically criticizing Bevall for avoiding him,
not wanting to go right back into a third fight
with him. Isn't there something to that?
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Because they were gonna make the Benavidez fight when the
swooped in.
Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
Exactly so benevie. The report was that Samson lookedwitz PBC,
that they offered a deal for Bevall to fight Better
with the PBC, you know, promoting and producing it, and
that the offer was eight million dollars, of which it
felt like he turned down to do the trilogy. Now
you have David Benaviez coming out and signing with Turkey
Alaschik to fight Anthony Yard later this year. It's on
(01:12:13):
a supercard that Turkey's trying to build up for November.
Do we have that tweet with the show YEP, these
are the fights that Turkey is talking about, and guys,
this would be a super card.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
I mean that would be insane.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Jeron Bootsenz versus Virgil Ortiz Junior at one fifty four,
David Benavie is Anthony Yard, which is agreed to, Devin
Hainey Brian Norman Junior for the walterweight title agreed to.
Then the other ones would be Williams of Paedo versus
Andy Cruz, Christian Mobilly, Lester Martinez, Martin Bucoli, Moses Etama.
Five really good fights right there, four and a half,
five really good fights in a really loaded card. I've
(01:12:46):
seen interviews with Benavitez kind of saying that, like, it
looks like PBC could be doing more work with Turkey
in the future. I don't know if that's out of
a financial need or what have you there, but the
critics are basically saying, if you're gonna go this strout
and you're not gonna do the trilogy for next year,
why not just do Benavite's beev All this fall instead
of the Yard fight. Would that make more sense in
your eyes?
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
I would rather see that, not because I didn't enjoy
the first two better be Bivol fights, but I've seen
too better Bee vivi All fights, and I don't want
to lose the opportunity for David Benavidez to get in there,
who has sparred both and apparently again these are stories
from the gym has had success that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
He knocked down Bevall on a jet.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Yeah, it kind of gave him a little bit of
the business. I don't know how much I believe that,
but it doesn't matter. I would want to see the fight.
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
There are boxing fans that believe bev All Benavidez is
the best fight you can make in the sport right now.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's certainly on the list. But
I've seen it twice.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
You know. Here's the question, does bev does Benavidez going
back to Saudi, meaning that he went out there for
a fight that he wasn't fighting, but he was like
a recruitment trip, and the report that came back was
that it didn't go well. He left early. Well, now,
whether it's a financial need or this is just the
direction he wants to go, He's aligning with Turkey for
this next fight. Is this a long play from Turkey
(01:13:55):
to get Canelo and Benavidez in there, which, if you
notice at the press conferences or in the video, Turkey
will say that at the end, all we have to
do is convince Canelo to fight Benavidez. Do you think
this is the beginning of consolidating those four names Bevall
better via Canelo and Benavidez and trying to get not
just a potential Bevall, not just a potential Benavidez versus
(01:14:16):
the winner of that trilogy fight or before that trilogy
even happens, but a long play to get Canelo happy
with the Crawford fight a ton of money Netflix, and
then you slide in benevide You you're trying to find optimism.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
Well, I have optimism because I think it'll get good fights.
You're just not gonna get Canelo to be in any
of the good fights. That's what you don't believe.
Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Canelo.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
There's no world where he fights David Benavidez.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
There is.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
There's no fucking retorts.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
He's getting two hundred and fifty million for the Crawford fight, which,
if true, is is mind blowing. Yeah, Floyd got a
guaranteed one hundred to fight Manny, and the report was
that Floyd ultimately made three hundred million after all the
receipts and all that. This is up there, this is
this is right there, ridiculously up there. I don't know, Oh, man,
what if? What if Canelo has that opportunity to make like.
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
No, no, it's not it's dead. It will never happen.
He's not fighting Benavide's.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Okay, okay. Also related to the somewhat related to this.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
By the way, do you like the Benavide'z Yard fight?
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
I don't hate it. An action tell you it's an
action fight.
Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
First of all, the difference in physiques is going to
be insane, especially when Benavidez has beating him up. But
Anthony Yard doesn't mind some smoke.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
No, and he takes a smoke. He loses to the
big names historically, but he takes him on and he goes.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
He's not afraid of a challenge. I respect that about him.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
I mean, there are a lot of fun fights in
Benavidez around the top end of this division here at
light heavyweight. So he made the right move if Canelo
wasn't gonna fight him, to say I'm not gonna wait around.
I'm gonna go up and chat.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
It beats morel at one seventy five. Now we're talking
about we thought he might fight Callum Smith. Instead it's
going to be Anthony Yard. Maybe this builds toward a
Bevall showdown, which would be one of the best fights
in the sport. So I'm trying to embrace that in
what the Turkey element can do for this. There's just
still some unknowns in on the level of what we're
talking about with Ring Magazine account Top Turkey like being
(01:16:03):
a news provider, but it's always under the guise of
it's being ordered from their reelection. Let me let what
we're going to the next one. Jake Paul was ranked
by the WBA. Of course, that cruise weight we talked
about that last week number We got a ranking. Now
this tweet comes out from the Ring Magazine account that says,
due to heavy criticism and outrage from other ranked contenders,
the WBA will review Jake Paul's cruiserweight ranking at their
(01:16:26):
upcoming European Convention in Madrid, which takes place July fifteenth
through eighteenth. The WBA had rated him number fourteen after
the Chavez fight, but Chavez wasn't ranked at cruiserweight and
his last notable win had come all the way back
in twenty twelve at middleweight. True fact, Paul has never
defeated a rank boxer, unless you call his quote fight
with God. So they are this is a continuation of
(01:16:47):
Ring just dropping doogies on Jake publicly. Is this even
a real story or is this just them putting their
finger in the wound and spinning it around again.
Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
We talked about this last week. You can be upset
that Paul got ranked, but he's also taking advantage or
you know whatever, he's benefiting from a bullshit ass corrupt
system that existed long before he ever got there.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Here in the whispers and saying well hold on, maybe maybe, But.
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
I just gotta say, the Ring magazine at this point,
like they're giving up all pretensive.
Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
I mean, all media has biased and we know that too.
We have bias.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Everyone's got biases, like that's just reality. But the but
the rule for me is you got to be upfront
with him and tell them, hey, these are our biases.
I'm I'm a pro this, I'm anti that, whatever, whatever
your thing, but just getting out there and going after
Jake Paul and putting his thing in fight. I hated
the fight as much as you guys did. But that's
the appropriate thing to call it, just from a you know,
a technical perspective. Dude, that is a pr arm of Turkey.
(01:17:39):
That's what the ring magazine is. I'm not saying they
don't do good some good work. They do some good work,
but they are at heart that is what he bought
a pr arm to do.
Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
His information interests. That's playing a big role there.
Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
That's just the reality.
Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
So it'd be uh, I hate it because I feel
like we've been in this weird boxing state where yes,
Turkey's here and he's growing, he's building big fights, but
everyone else has sort of been in a couple of
years of like where are they going next? It started
with the end of Showtime in my opinion, at the
end of twenty three, and we're still there in the
midst of twenty five. We still don't know what the
rest of this year is going to be for everyone else.
(01:18:13):
Beneville is going from you know, staying with PBC, but
going to Turkey is interesting because he's one of their
certain proven you know, pay per view draws. What does
this mean for PBC's future. We'll have to wait and see, dude,
interesting stuff right there. All right, those are our five topics,
and that would be a good time to talk about
the summer and the need to prepare yourself for the heat. Look,
(01:18:34):
we're all grown men watching this, right. I don't think
there's any woman watching this. Maybe there's a few. But
when it's summertime, you got to take care of yourself.
You've got to protect yourself from that inevitable sweat, whether
you're working in the yard or out with the lady
on a nice date. If there's one thing I'm not
messing around with this summer, it's my deodorant. How about
Mando Deodorant plus sweat Control. It's built for this season. Okay,
(01:18:56):
it's built for this, blocking odor, all day, controlling sweat
two powerful on pits, but gentle on the skin. This
isn't your typical drug store stick. This is a high
performance pit shield. You know what I'm talking about. I'm
talking about going right now to Shopmando dot com using
our code Combat for twenty percent off site wide, plus

some folks on the subway in the summer, who can
use a little bit of Mando. I know I have.
Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
Yeah, it works. Mando works. The best thing I can
tell is that it works. And listen, whether you're outside
grilling because it's the summer, whether you're going for a
bike ride with your kids. By the way, Tuky learn
how to ride a bike shop, let's go tukes, so
we like to go do that. Whatever you need to do. However,
you need to be prepared the suite of products because

I mean I love it. I mean certainly the Mando
Deodorant plus Sweat Control stick is probably the most powerful.
But I like to mix it up sometimes I like
that spray just to have that almost cologne feel. Sometimes
I go to that crub that cream deodorant lotion on
you when you know it's going to be a rough
day and you're going to be out there in the
midst of getting that sweat.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
On, by the way, baking, soda free, parabin free. So
these are not products that are full of terrible chemicals
that are going to be with you for a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
I know I've gotten some compliments. I'm like, what are
you wearing? Is that a new fragrance? No, it's my deodorant, Okay, Mando,
That's what I'm talking about. Also, the shirt I bought
you for sure, for sure in that regard created by
a doctor who saw firsthand how normal bo was being
misdiagnosed and mistreated. Clinically proven to block all odor day,
all day and control your odor for up to seventy

Mando's got you cover boys.
Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
That's what I'm talking about right there. All right, we've
had our say on our topics. Of note, we did
open up as we usually do every Sunday night at
morning combat on x and on Instagram. The call out
to the fans. Do you have questions? We have answers.
This one's called DMS from Donks Disgusting, just growth.
Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
You know what, brought back by popular demand. We love
They said, we wanted it back. We brought it back.
Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Are you going to do? We give you what you want.
Let's hear from our first donk. This one's from Matt
Flannels And just by the way, this guy is a
jiu jitsu practitioner.
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
My fucking eyesight is fading by the day, me too.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Will the UFC event at the White House actually have
good fights? Or is it just going to be more
about Dana White and Trump being close.
Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
I'll say this, I think they're gonna try.
Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
All the pay per views are about Dana Whit and
Trump being close. So that's all. But if you're gonna
do it the.
Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
White House thing to answer in good faith, I do
think they're if it goes forward, I don't see them
half assing it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
Yes, there's just no way they'll do that. Just the
full ass.
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
Give us, give us the whole ass. No, but I'm
being serious. I think if they again we want to
be caveating this, that this is a year away. Who
knows what can happen between now and then. You may
not get it at all, but and harve you feel
about its horve you feel about it, but to the
extent that you get it. We talked about some of
the matchmaking difficulties, like how exactly should you do it?
But I don't think they're gonna put like a apex
(01:22:57):
esque level event there. They're gonna go ball out if
it goes fall.
Speaker 2 (01:23:01):
Yeah. When Mark Shapiro said, you know, people watching at home,
they don't know if it's the apex Or of the
White House, Yes, or is this the apex, so you
can here's the thing that you have see, no crappy heavyweights,
No Tafa brothers. Let's go, let's bring I mean, I
think you could do a little tour Tafa. We'll take
the tour.
Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
By the way, Junior Tafa, I saw this weekend and
he moved to light heavyweights.
Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
Yeah see the pictures.
Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Yeah he looks good.
Speaker 1 (01:23:24):
It's like it's a pretty good. He's got got a
little ab, got some apps as yeah, chops.
Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
To thank you, flannels and JITs for your contribution.
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
I think that they'll try. I think that they will
make an effort for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:23:35):
All right, maybe they'll be an American champion on the
male side. Maybe it's Sean Brady that'll be the champ.
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
One never knows.
Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
Well what they should have a tattoo booth on the
lawn as well. Okay, well then I would have to
go all right, you know what I mean. Let's see
the next question from you don't know Tyler, right, and
I don't plan on it. How does the twenty nineteen
slash twenty twenty version of Dustin Puabi wad do against
this version of Ilia wish we could have gotten fight.
I think he'd do better than Gaichee will fare. Now
(01:24:03):
the nineteen to twenty version is pre Connor, right, let's
Connor two and three.
Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
Yeah, let's call it the guy. I mean, I think
the Hooker fight was a little bit after twenty twenty,
but let me, let me, let me, but it's basically
like the Dan Hooker version, or like the Pori.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
Version, is still the super. So after he got tapped by.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
By Habibe, he fought Connor the second or third time
in twenty twenty one, because I remember that because my
cat died and I had to fly out to Vegas
to go cover that. Y.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
Yeah, no, Mocho died, all right, here we go. So
in June of twenty twenty, he won the five round
decision in hook against Dan Hooker in his first fight
since losing the title.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
The best fights in AX history, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
Then in January of twenty one he had the rematch
with Connor, and then, of course July of that year,
Connor's leg injured. So we're talking still about a super
elite early to mid thirties. How does that that guy
that that guy, by the way, an older version of
that guy gave Islam a hard time. We got to
remember that too.
Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
True, although he and also did you see Portia admitted
he might have had broken ribs during that fighter.
Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
Also tell young kids that want to be to go
to I've been saying that.
Speaker 1 (01:25:08):
People get mad at me when I say it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
I would.
Speaker 1 (01:25:12):
I tell you what, I think that that would be
a very competitive fight for a little while. We know
that Poarier can thump.
Speaker 2 (01:25:20):
Take him down.
Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
I think that's took him down and held him there. Yeah, yeah,
I think that's the difference. Olvera did not take him
down or hold him.
Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Oh you mean put his hand over his mouth? You
mean yes, yeah, it took us back to.
Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
I think he would mix it up. I mean, remember
what did he do in the first round against Max
shot a double right? So like there's no reason to
believe he wouldn't try something similar against Dustin just to
mix it up.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
These would be your two favorite fighters ever coming together.
Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
Wat not favorite ever, but like on my all star
list for sure, I.
Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
Mean Long Island. Look, if you had to guess Luke's
two favorite fighters of all time, who would you think.
Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
I was going to say?
Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
Is he an Iliad?
Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Oh that's right, but we're talking all time?
Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
It'd be b J. Penn and you were a vult
guy too for a while. I'm I'm like, I like.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
All these guys still. I just I see their primes
coming before favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
No, it's not about that. We all have favorites. I'm
just trying to say, like, who.
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Are your favorites.
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
My core favorite are Joanna, Bryan Ortega, Rose, Rose Units.
Those are probably my those three. Really, you can't change
what about you?
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
Whitaker and Vulcan.
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Is a great pick.
Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
Really, just because they're Aussies doesn't mean I can't like him.
Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
Those are my guys.
Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
I mean, they're great guys.
Speaker 3 (01:26:37):
I'll throw Wideman up there, I'll throw al Joe up there, throw.
Speaker 2 (01:26:41):
Up there hunting in New York.
Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
Let's go anyone from Sarah A.
Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
Longos. All right, very good, there it is. Let's see
our next question from an eager beaver at Eric Bolden.
Do you think the magic of Hamza has been somewhat
lost from when he was fighting every other week? Now
he's talking about twenty twenty. Were Hamza? By the way, Like,
what's that guy's name that we loved that had a
(01:27:04):
big run in the pandemic? Billy Cwan Billy Q like
Billy Q was a major star of the pandemic. You
had three victories in what felt like three days for
Hamsaud in two different divisions. Yeah. Yes, he's had the
COVID stuff, he's had the weight miss with Nate, He's
had a lot of things. If he goes out there
and does to DDP like kind of like what he
(01:27:26):
did to Robert Whitaker, maybe not, you know, goes through
him so quick that we're like, holy shit, that'll that'll
repair all of that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27:32):
I mean I was gonna say basically that, which is
do I think that some of the magic has lost
been lost?
Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:27:39):
Yes, I don't think you can say it's at the
same fever pitch.
Speaker 2 (01:27:42):
It's clearly not.
Speaker 1 (01:27:44):
However, he's back in the States. He's training for this one.
Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
Obviously.
Speaker 1 (01:27:47):
I think he's with Dilla Shaw's team now the Training Lab.
But they spelled trained with Rain with.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
The t the Osbourne Lab.
Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
No, no, what, dude, I cannot believe that little chapter
in my life lives on in this show every Monday.
It's fucking amazing. What I was gonna say was he
has the ability to recapture so much of that. Yes,
not just with a win over DDP, but to the
point you raise if it's a it's a thunderous win
(01:28:16):
or like a dramatic win. I think people do people
so good. Part of the II thing is, yes, some
people like him, some people don't. But you saw what happen.
People were like, WHOA, something special is happening. If Hamzak
comes in there and does that to DDP, people are
gonna have the exact same or more feelings about him.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
In that way.
Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
People are desperate for a new set of big stars.
He can fill that itch.
Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
It's okay, we just had a really good night at
three seventeen. We're going to have a great night even
though the card sucks with Holloway and poor can't suck.
We're going to have a freaking great night with DDP versus.
Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
And don't forget how uc Abu Dhabi as well Whitaker,
RDR and also Pico and Movsar.
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
Let's go. Let's fucking go. Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
I know today's show was a little bit weird because hey,
what the fuck else were we supposed to talk about?
But looking forward, you got the blinders on. We got
a bunch of good fights this year.
Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
Yeah, what else you got here?
Speaker 1 (01:29:05):
I've never seen a single episode.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
I just wear those hats like Chuck. This is from
Art Art Church. He told me I was Uro this weekend.
What does that mean in handsome Truro is handsome.
Speaker 1 (01:29:17):
Well, I don't know how. That's how it is in Spain,
but that's how it is in Columbia.
Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Yeah. Wait, Art Truro wants to know. What are your
thoughts on the UFC having only one American UFC champ?
Is there a shortage of talent in the US or
a growth of talent around the world.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
I think it's both clearly best practices. Like Okay, I
remember the days where if you wanted to be a
world champion you had to go to Aka, you had.
Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
To go to the days you had to go to
Iowa and get your ass kicked.
Speaker 1 (01:29:48):
By militant fighting systems. You had to go to these places.
And then it became kind of novel where you would
see guys break out in the UFC would come from
these small teams, like OSP coming from a small team
in Tennessee, but he never became I'm a champion. And
now you're seeing that completely fall away, Like yes, can
you still get elite training at Aka or att Yes?
Of course you can. But can you become a champion
(01:30:10):
coming from a small team that no one's ever heard of?
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Yes? Like Jack dalea Madeline. What team does he train with?
See scrappy Mma?
Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
Okay, I mean you know the point I'm trying to
fucking make. I mean, I know MMA, all right, you
get my point. It's not a huge team. It's not
a huge team. So it just tells you that the
best practices and what guys can do with that, they
can build a champ almost anywhere. True, that is real Australia.
I remember when Elvis Cinnasek and Anthony Parrosh were the
(01:30:37):
best Australia has to offer. Now look at the best
George Soderopolis. There was a window, but he's he made
his like he trained mostly here. I mean that was
a little bit different. It's not real a no, he is,
but he didn't get good in Australia. He got good.
Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
He look it ties into what we talk about of
the high level russellers. By the way, I trained Marcello
Garcias one time and he was there. Yeah, the high
ranking American wrestlers less like lately to go directly to MMA,
like we say, and I wonder you remember the you know,
fifteen years ago the talk of boxing is where the
great American heavyweights? Oh, they're all playing in the NFL.
Are we getting to that point too, where people are
(01:31:12):
looking at the pay structures and the violence involved in
saying is this the path I want to go? Or
I want to go to the team sport?
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
I think NIL has made a bigger difference than we realized.
It was not something I had considered until relatively recently,
but I do think it plays a role the growth
of sport jiu jitsu. I mean, people are definitely making
some cost benefit analysis of what can I actually get
out of this and what am I going to have
to risk to get there? And they just weren't making
those same calculations tenish years ago. But I will say
(01:31:40):
I think with a better recruiting effort, some of these
problems can be solved. Ok, it's not like we need Well,
here's a question for the UFC to survive, but to
thrive long term?
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
Do they need a bunch of American champions? I mean
it certainly helps in America from a marketing stand Do
they need No, as long as they're English speaking. From
the standpoint of building stars, and even that doesn't always
have for speaks English. But yeah, I mean, look at
Amerson Silva didn't really speak English during his prime, but.
Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
It also took forever for him to break through.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
True. True, they're just wired differently in these other countries.
As Habibe talks about the sacrifice for those that come
from Dagistan and what they're willing to put, I mean,
they're fighting more for their in a lot of ways,
their their future. They're a comfortable future, any kind of
future in some cases. Yeah, so we're seeing that. But
what you know, is there going to be a new
American Hobed that breaks out?
Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
Is there going to be things go in waves? You
can you can't rule it out. I just think that
there's a lot of things that are taking good athletes
that may have given mm A a bit of a
second look, and it's given them options to not necessarily
do that, and so we have to figure out what
can we do to counteract that.
Speaker 2 (01:32:47):
I wonder, even though I'm done with the politics in
combat sports, is the close up that UFC gets through
the connection to Trump, which could lead to a fight
on the lawn for the two hundred fifty the aniversary
is that a good recruitment tool for young Americans that
looking to go I want to go this route?
Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Could be I hope, could be. I hope, yep, I cannot,
I hope, I hope, I hope. I hope that there's
if there's some kind of way for that to happen.
Who would be against it?
Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
And if you're if you're ten years old and you
watch a damn, you're fifteen years old and you watch
this a fight on the White House lawn and that
pageantry with that, I wonder if that at.
Speaker 1 (01:33:23):
The end day, though, is that going to override concerns
if to the extent that pay is a motivating reason
to not do it, We're like, yeah, I don't know
if the juice worth of squeeze does that override it?
I don't know, I don't know. I don't know how
to answer these questions, but I guess we'll have to say.
Speaker 2 (01:33:37):
I mean that the people ask great questions. Do you
have any more of these Greek questions? This is from Mt. Booble,
What eating contest would you do best at? Just coming
off of Joey Chestnut's return after taking a year off
to the Cony Island, Nathan's and did you see he
won again his eleventh one. Yeah. They answered that as
eating ass eating.
Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Where's my hip hop worn?
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
Thank you for saving you? Ask for the hip hop porn.
Speaker 1 (01:34:07):
I have to because I have to because of discrimination
in the work.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Yeah Da, it's like giving yourself a nickname.
Speaker 3 (01:34:12):
I have to.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
I have to because he is slow to the Hey,
when the rules are stacked against.
Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
You, you got to complain. That's the thing he knows comedy.
Let let's talk about that. What what eating like? I
always sayl I'll go slice for slice with anybody in
pizza Pizza.
Speaker 1 (01:34:26):
I feel like I could probably do okay.
Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
On, I could crush pizza. I could be You don't
think I could eat that many hot dogs? I don't
think I'll do that, Glizzies. If I come out of retirement,
I will out Glizzy. I can't compete with like did
you eat the competitive eaters? I can't compete with them.
But in a regular person challenge, I will crush dude.
I own the American League record. Before a two thousand
(01:34:48):
and one Yankees Royals game where we're walking into the
stadium and I said, hold on, there's a hot dog
guy right here. And I ordered eight consecutive in a
row and took them down to which the girlfriends of
the guys I were with were shrieking. Would talk to
me during the game, and still brought up years later,
whatever happened to that weird dude? Who ate all those
hot dogs that time? Just sucking on them hot dogs?
Speaker 1 (01:35:13):
Pizza?
Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Could you eat a lot?
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
I don't think I could eat a lot of spaghetti.
Speaker 2 (01:35:16):
Or something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
No, what about wings? I did a wing eating contest once.
Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
Now are the spicy or not?
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
So me and my buddy entered. He did volume, I
did spice, so.
Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
Like he just had to eat large again.
Speaker 3 (01:35:28):
He finished in second place. Shout out to him. I
got six out of ten. It was fucking hot, dude,
And I like spicy.
Speaker 1 (01:35:34):
I feel like I could eat You know what I
don't know about like, okay, eating contests or not just
about volume. They can be about speed. So for example,
who can eat the blueberry pie the fastest? I think
I could win that one.
Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
So they had There used to be this great rib
place in uh Southington, Connecticut, and right off that it
was called I doubt that Brannigans, And on the roof
they wrote best wings in the state, like and like
you could see it. And toward the tail end, when
they were like about to go out of business, they
would have all you can eat rib nights where you
pay like twenty five bucks, you know. And one time
(01:36:05):
I was served a full rack of ribs and I
ate it in less than four minutes, and I grabbed
the waitress like, hey, I'm ready for my next one.
She was like, all right, it's gonna take about twenty
five minutes to cook. That twenty five minutes, it all
caught up with me. So by the time it got there,
I could only eat one more bite. Dude. I felt
like if that second rack was there, I could have
done two racks in ten minutes. I went with a
(01:36:26):
body love racks, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:36:28):
Yeah, you like big ass too. I want my baby back,
baby back. I went with a buddy of mine. I
didn't do it this. I was like a teenager. I
think I was like thirteen or so. And it was
at a Texas steakhouse, not like the branded one, but
like you were in Texas and I don't remember which one,
and it was one of those ones where it was
like eat this giant steak plus the fixings.
Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Bixton's watch the Lord, He's bounding down. Were were you
in Austin?
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
It was Austin, Yes, nice, all the comedians this is
this was pre pre Rogan. He ate all the But
it was a pyrrhic victory in a sense. It wasn't
even a victory because he didn't win. But he managed
to eat the hard part and he could not eat
the baked potato, so he lost. He lost on the
whole thing. He couldn't do it because the rule was
you had to have that. Plus I think two fixings,
(01:37:14):
and one was I think he had mac and cheese,
and maybe the other one was the potato with a
loaded potato. Yeah, so it's got the sour cream, the cheese,
the chives, the whole bit. You couldn't do it, dude,
I don't think I could eat. Steak is the hardest
thing to eat fast.
Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
Remember when John Candy ate the old ninety six or
on the Great movie The Great Outdoors with them.
Speaker 1 (01:37:31):
I haven't seen that in so long.
Speaker 2 (01:37:32):
Oh, God, like to eat something like that, like some
seventy two ons. Rabbi, you know in a certain time
period that these.
Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
Are That's a very American discussion. Do other countries have
eating contests, Well.
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
They whoever can eat in those countries is it ends
up having the power, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
I one time saw koba Yashi take down like I'm
not doing a bit, like six or seven bowls of ramen.
Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Yeah, until he went head to head with that bear
in that in that fox eating competition and the bear
like you don't.
Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
Remember this, koba Yashi Yeski with Kobo yash in early.
Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
Two thousands, fox had a crazy man versus oh.
Speaker 1 (01:38:05):
Leg had to go against the orangutang or something.
Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
Yeah, and Kobayashi want to get a bear, and he
was talking like all like I'm gonna beat him. I've
been training training. The bear just stand there and looked
at him. As koby Ashi He's like, funnel him down.
The bear just puts one hand, grabs the whole pile
in all our Yeah. Kobyashi afterwards was like, yeah, I'll
come out. I'll come harder next year. I'm gonna train
for this. I'm gonna I could beat him. I could
beat him.
Speaker 1 (01:38:24):
Bro, you're not gonna beat Winnie the Pooh out of
honey eating contest.
Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
I understand that not gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
Wow, all right, I think the blueberry pie. I could
win the blueberry Pike.
Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
Those are our fans submissions for the week.
Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
You can reach us unless we're having an ass eating contest,
in which case I just went right gonna just yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
Go third base on Hey Morning Combat at gmail dot com.
This Friday. We'll be back with more dead wrongs and

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
Send him on was My original email was a BC
soup sixty nine at hotmail. Put that on your fucking resume,
you loser. I don't have to answer to you. We
have one more segment where I scour the internet on
Sunday afternoon to find, you know, the weirdest things possible
to see if I can move Luke Thomas emotionally. These
are called have you seen BC's FECs who are yeah
(01:39:26):
double double uh Luke. Finally, you always say that if
you're a good enough fighter, you'll have too much tape
out there and eventually the competition will catch up, like
what's izzy?
Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
That's real?
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
Well, Charles air Jordan has watched enough iliotape that he
has put out how to beat to Pooria. This is interesting, guys.
After years of studying to Porio, I finally know how
to be there.
Speaker 3 (01:39:47):
So you started to fight, to pour your fight slow,
you need to lower your stance and then you.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
It's about right. That's that's that's about right.
Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Yeah, yeah, do you remember that? Whatever works? Right? Remember
that dumb and like you want to hear the most
annoying sound in the world. There was a boxing match
two weekends ago in England where James Jazza Dickens competed.
And check out this introduction but.
Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
Hard hard is it not?
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
Is that the pride check?
Speaker 1 (01:40:23):
That's the pride check?
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
Right? A picture of her in a long time, So
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:40:28):
That looks that looks like an aged version of her,
but yeah, that looks like her that I never understood
why the Japanese picked her, but it just kind of worked.
Speaker 2 (01:40:37):
It did work in that setting with that song. I mean,
with everything that that was about pride, there's still pot
of place in weird, didn't it?
Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
It didn't quite work as well, all right, Hey, let's
get flatulant here, buddy, I've been doing that all show.
Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
Check Out this cross is about to find out.
Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
Fart as loud as your anus will allow. Believe me,
these are words I live by art.
Speaker 2 (01:40:59):
And craft piece. Also you heard of drive by shootings.
This is a walk by boom.
Speaker 1 (01:41:13):
Portuguese.
Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
That's fucking amazing, that's.
Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
Hilarious, all right? When when will let me ask a
question before we please? Please do it?
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
When will farting stop being funny to us?
Speaker 2 (01:41:24):
Never? If it does that, then we canceled the show instantly.
Speaker 1 (01:41:28):
Like are we gonna be in our deathbeds and someone's
gonna fart in the room or we're gonna laugh.
Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
I'll never not laugh at somebody get hitting the nuts
with something. You know, it's pretty good. H Do you
remember when the Celtics had the Boston Garden with that
parquet floor and there were like dead spots on the floor,
like the leprechaun would come out and trick the players
and like the ball bounce away. Check out this floor,
iks to rebound.
Speaker 1 (01:41:48):
There're on the beach or something.
Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
What the fuck? Oh god tripped up? That's a travel sir,
That is Wow, where the are they playing that? It's
just disintegrated? Oh no, but that was awesome right there?
All right, Hey did you see this Hinato Moicano crash
out as the kids say after he is lost to
daryushbody was all, well, what what did TV do?
Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
That's a big ass TV.
Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
You could have just given it to me. Wow? Right there? Okay, uh,
let's hear from Matt Sarah. You know, I don't know
what it's set for Madison Square got in, but Michael Biscuit,
Michael Bisping believes that. I already let's matter. You called
the Michael Biscuit. Michael Biscuit, I'm friends with Michael. Holy funk.
Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
I didn't even realize that.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
That makes me think of when you talked about how
the sweets are so much better in England. I don't
know why you sort of that. I'm thinking, as Michael Biscuit,
I didn't know. Ben the Bank, Ben the band shows
up everywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:43:01):
Tell you what hustles?
Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
You hustle. It'll be on MTV is the challenge?
Speaker 1 (01:43:05):
Well, I mean I think he'll barely be on. But
I talked a little bit about that. But my man hustles.
He hustles.
Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
All right, smoke him if you got him time? Luke,
would you smoke out of this? Buddy?
Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
You just asked me what contest I was gonna win.
Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
Let me ask you a question about your smoking piece.
What I I have? That's a dark asshole, right.
Speaker 1 (01:43:25):
Yeah, you could use a little could use a little bleach.
Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
But other than that, this is how they get high
in France. Watch this. I think we call this le bong.
Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
Get okay, I have to do this.
Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
Yeah, I think she's smoking Eiffel Flower. You got a
couple of good ones. There it is. And Luke, you
know if you could die anywhere, you would pick the
smoking tent. Wouldn't you please kill me there right now?
Show up?
Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
You see the license?
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
See that right there? And they've given him some love.
Speaker 3 (01:43:59):
Too. Minutes?
Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
Two minutes?
Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
Yes you still want to stop?
Speaker 5 (01:44:08):
Yeah, let's see look at hot box. Yeah, yeah, you
have to waste all of it, but this is what
(01:44:29):
life was.
Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
Four? Could you go? Two minutes? Yeah? Could you do
a full ti?
Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
I could?
Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
I want to just say?
Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
You know Planet thirteen in Vegas. Yes, they have like
a car you can sit in and it's like push
this button first, just hot box, just smokes it. Yeah,
but it's fucking like fog. It's not weed, it's just fog.
So you're just choking on.
Speaker 1 (01:44:47):
Oh, you're just getting you're just smoking his best.
Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
So I wonder about ship like this, is it even weeder?
Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
You've seen the ones where they can just light it
and then you just funnel it in.
Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
Then there's really no other for that. Yeah, that's like
you always say.
Speaker 1 (01:44:59):
If if we need, I'm telling you bury me in smoke. Yes,
that's the way.
Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
Wow, let's see some child abuse. We always like that
on the socket scenes from my childhood. Here we go,
watch this young fellow. That's great.
Speaker 5 (01:45:19):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
You know, my idea about UFC Women's heavyweight arn to
catch on, to catch on. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (01:45:25):
The UFC needs a heavyweight women's division.
Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
I'm trying to see the fat bitch is fighting. I
ain't gonna watch it. I'm gonna stroke to it.
Speaker 4 (01:45:32):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:45:32):
You put a McDonald's gift card on that fucking fight person,
you gonna see a death.
Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
I'm trying to see Lizzo female Derek Lewis.
Speaker 3 (01:45:44):
All right, Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:45:46):
What part.
Speaker 1 (01:45:51):
I'm not sure exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
Just keep moving, Okah, Luke you know the more english
Canelo is using. I kind of like how he speaks.
He's hilarious. Let's hear from Canelo. Do you generally like
or dislike your opponents? Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:46:04):
Generally, I don't give up? Does that Jim Great?
Speaker 2 (01:46:11):
It sounded like Jim Gray. Yeah, amazing. If they dig
him up for this Netflix card, that'd be wow.
Speaker 1 (01:46:17):
I mean using some special verbs there, huh.
Speaker 4 (01:46:20):
Dig is a legend.
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
Imaginely got that corpse out there.
Speaker 2 (01:46:25):
We had some child abuse, you might as well come
back with some elderly abuse. Watch this poor gentleman in
front of the manure truck.
Speaker 1 (01:46:30):
Oh my god, wait wait wait, wait wait is that manure?
Speaker 2 (01:46:33):
Just like I've been told from the from the Instagram post,
it's manure. And he pulled out in front of it
in his Rascal scooter. And why are they burying the street?
And shit, I don't know what country that is, but
whether that's tough, dude, that is rough right there.
Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
That's what I did to the bathroom. And then the
guy brought his drink inside and I was like, I
don't think this is the place for your drink. Bud Luke.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
Remember that great AI fan sub of you and the
cake lady getting married. This should be your cake.
Speaker 1 (01:47:00):
I love your tips.
Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
It really works under any celebration. Just get that for
four Luke, I've been told that tomorrow is our sixth anniversary.
Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
Can you believe it?
Speaker 2 (01:47:17):
This is how we should have celebrated. Want to see
the greatest skateboard trick celebration ever. This is how we
need to celebrate our birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
Yeah, you gotta.
Speaker 2 (01:48:14):
Wait celebration, dude, that is epic.
Speaker 1 (01:48:20):
That's I didn't know that the jan six guys had
a circle a show.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
But this is probably how we more than likely would
celebrate it. Let's go to the volleyball pitch. May sound
sackyd soccer volleyball, I can't if ball walking talking talking broll.
Speaker 1 (01:48:45):
That's how t wakes me up.
Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
Like, okay, all right, I didn't introduce a young and
into that conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:48:52):
Okay, that's not what she does. The screaming part. That
was the part that she does. Hey, watch you fuck
up your microphone. At the end of the show, we go.
Speaker 2 (01:49:00):
I'm back on, I'm back on. All right, we got
a couple more here for you. Time for some huge
dongs to call it off. What are they transporting this truck?
Look all right, I mean, what is that? Look at
the unit on that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:49:14):
Bro, They gotta they gotta get This is the kind
of truck that was hauling tank.
Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
You read that sign?
Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
What does it say pull forward after fueling or get shot?
Speaker 3 (01:49:24):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
This is not real?
Speaker 2 (01:49:27):
This is not real. You're saying that's an ai dong
am I getting mm A senteled again with.
Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
I don't know risky factories. Where do they have side
that say you're gonna get shot?
Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
Interesting? Wow? All right, one more for you. Check out
this Japanese fella. I wonder that's all the ship I
(01:50:01):

Speaker 1 (01:50:02):
That's how you should show up to all job interviews.
Yes there, yeah, sorry, I'm in a lot of pay
and here's my cock.
Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
That's all the show we can fit in two hours today.
I hope you enjoyed it. We will be back this Friday,
eleven am Eastern for a wonderful remote show previewing the
weekend to come. And we do have a fun couple
of weeks. It's not just Taylor Serrano three Friday Night,
the Doubleheader Ring Magazine Series number three from the Tennis
Stadium Saturday with the likes of Shakur, Stevenson at Garberlanga,
(01:50:28):
humsasharraz derk Lewis, William Sapato. We got Derek Lewis and
Taliston televerse this Saturday. What to Shara to shaff pallas.
Speaker 1 (01:50:37):
Man to share, pallas Man to share it?
Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
Then the following week is the craziest day in combat
sports in a while. Come that nineteenth fluke.
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
That is pretty d the UFC card this weekend. Let
me quickly go through it if I may please. Derek
Lewis versus Talis and to share as your man event.
Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
I don't hate that fight.
Speaker 1 (01:50:52):
I don't know how long it's gonna go, but I
definitely don't hate it either. Stephen Thompson taken on Gabrielle Bonfiend.
That's all right, It's all right, Calvinator Steve Garcia, I'm
mixed field. Well, tell me why you're pumped about that.
Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
I mean, Steve Garcia is on like a five fight
ko Streetcators lost four in a row.
Speaker 1 (01:51:11):
Enough, okay, coming and go competition with a Landware versus
Morgan Sharier should be fun. That's the French guy who've
got the code hair Vtor Patrino taken on Austin Lane.
It's a heavyweight fight that one go one gill very long,
but it might be fun for as long as it lasts.
And then at light heavyweight tour of Tafa Junior taken
on Twoco Tacos Toto. Also Chris Curtis on the prelims
(01:51:34):
is back against Max Griffins at one seventy at one seventy,
and I remember Chris Curtis went one in three at
one seventy and pfl So Jake Matthews, by the way,
the prelims might be even better. Jake Matthews taking on
Chid and Chakawani. That's pretty good. Lord Murphy versus Edward Amoura,
it's pretty good. Murphy at heavyweight, Kennedy and z hqu
taking on Walter Walker or Walter Walker. Mitch Ramirez at
(01:51:57):
lightweight taken on Mike Davis. Mike Davis is a very
good fighter. And then the opener Fatima Klein taking on
Melissa Martine.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
That card better than the three eighteen undercard.
Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
What do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
Long Island?
Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Pretty good? I also give the horns to Fatima there
Long Island zoned And this is not.
Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
An APEX card. This is in Nashville, Tennessee at the
Bridge Stone Arena.
Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
All right, we got a crowd. We get a crowd
this saturd Yeah, not too bad. And then like I said,
loaded next Saturday, the July nineteenth, from Pachiao to Usik
du Bois to Bam to Pourier Holloway three. So we'll
be ahead of all that. Don't forget that. Nine days
from now. UFC three eighteen pregame preview brought to you
by Cuervo in this studio Wednesday, eleven am Eastern. Jed
(01:52:37):
Meschu joining us. Then Luke, you got a little vaca,

room of one of you folks. I think, no, thanks,
I don't really, you know, I access freedom in other ways. Look,

strawberry margarita's.
Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
I had a lot of mules this week Oh, I went.
I took the wife to a last minute getaway in Providence,
Rhode Island, over the weekend. Fourth cool. I just assume
Providence was a shipthole. It's weird when you live in Connecticut.
Rhode Island's like this armpit, brother, and you don't realize, dude,
province rules.
Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
I've heard. I've heard decent things.
Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
Really classy, culture, history, food, It's got a lot going
for it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
I didn't realize that you say that about a lot
of places you go to you're like, I thought this
play sucked, and then you get on you're like, it's.
Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Not so bad. Maybe I'm spent too much time at
Hartford in my life, which is really one of the
worst major cities, if you even want to call it that.
But thank you Providence, thank you India, thank you all.
Speaker 1 (01:54:21):
Right, well, thank you to the to the viewers and
the listeners today because we know it was an unusual show,

Friday we had. We we use what we had, which
wasn't much.
Speaker 2 (01:54:32):
But that's the last time we have to talk about
some of those people for a long time. For a
long time, Ford MK is going to be about fun
and eating ass and breasts.
Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
Hey, it's always been about that and hot dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Thank you very much for our great staff, including Ken,
who I would love, who's not sober. We could get
an MK camera to just follow Ken around all day.
I think it would be just money content.
Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
Do you think he does drugs in the bathroom? Yes, yes,
let's to find out.
Speaker 2 (01:54:59):
