Speaker 1 (00:05):
Revel reveale. Look at this now, timpted.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Shoop Jesus, Oh do you want.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Doing? Will be luck? It's time to bank? Oh yeah right,
it's Friday morning. Get fired up. I am not being
held hostage. There's no lotion or baskets, and this is
morning combat. Welcome on in Friday, May thirtieth, two thousand

(00:48):
and twenty five. I did forget my road microphone. So
is this going to be an issue that's up for
you to decide. My name is Brian Campbell. That BBC
with so much of that BD right just dripping from
my head like like like remember that stuff that blinded
Jervonte in that fight right against roaches. That's what I'm
talking about. My partner, on the other hand, has already

(01:10):
hit the porcelain three times this morning. His name is
Luke Thomas of Washington, DC.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
That is a real charge. I feel better now though.
I'm ready to be here BC.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
How's Vegas interesting so far?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Excited to go to the way in today ahead of
tomorrow's PBC on Prime Card with kayleb Plant, Jamal Charlow
and others. You know, look, one bad flight can f
you up? I had a bad flight, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I mean, whatever, what was wrong with the flight?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
You know those times when your first flight's late, then
you have to sprint like three miles at the Charlotte
Airport to catch your connection, not getting time to eat
or go to the bathroom, and by the time you
land in Vegas, you haven't eaten like ten hours and
you feel like you're about to die, you know what
I mean. But look, those are first world problems, Luke,
and I'll gladly accept them, as will you with your

(01:55):
bowel issues.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Part of my life, brother, part of doing business, you understand.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, that's the thing business. Yeah, disgusting. All right, Hey,
we do have a fantastic I'm sure a fantastic show
for you today as we set the stage for this
weekend with UFC Fight Night from the damn Apex. Okay,
we'll speak broadly about it. You better believe it. It's
a good ass saucy main event too. Also, we got
boxing this weekend, a bunch of headlines to get into.

(02:21):
We said we weren't going to talk about John Jones again.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
We can to bury it. We can to bury it.
We have to just move on after this is really
too much.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I mean, look, you always clowned me for my ability
to take connecting flights. But you know I fly out
of a small regional airport. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, I mean you know I don't have sympathy for you.
You prefer living this way?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Well, I mean I could drive twenty five minutes of
back roads to the Hartford Airport or like two and
a half hours to New York. Like, what, what's your pick?
Your poison?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Right? Uh? Not living in Connecticut, That's that's the poison
I pick.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Did you see that link I sent you from local
Connecticut news that the state of CT has the second
most fertile THC growing situations in this entire country?

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Is that why you're still buying stuff from the gas station.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
That's neither here nor there? But you can like our show,
by the way, you can also show that you like
it by hitting like hitting subscribe, telling a friend this
show isn't going away. So you can talk to us
about our numbers not growing, You can talk to us
about anything. We're still here for the next two and
a half years, per Luke Thomas, and we're coming hard.
You better believe that. Follow our extended YouTube channels, right

(03:36):
there and say hi to the third member of our
team comes by way of an Australian man's hanging like,
you know, how's your hangdown? It's Luke Nocita of the
main Card minute.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
These introts aren't getting any easier, guys, But hey, how
are we doing?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
One step closer to getting your dad on the show.
By the way, so we can talk about how you
how you arrived here a long island look, no scene
up the main card minute? Could you talk please about
that fantastic Marcus Canby autograph that you showed us some appreciation.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
He tried to call me out pre show, saying I
wasn't a real Knicks fan. He said, I was only
an Islanders guy. So I had to pull this out.
Marcus Camby autograph Happy birthday to me for my tenth birthday.
All right, I also got a Carmelo Anthony autographed eighteen
hundred tequila about I mean, I'm ready, I'm ready, Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
By the way, Hartford, Connecticut's Marcus Camby. So take that, Luke.
All right?

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Didn't he play for u?

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Mass?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yes? He did.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I played for you. I remember that, Marcus Camby.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
There we go, Luke. People are usually interested. How are you?
How's your life? How are your personals?

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Good? I'm going to the Shakira concert tomorrow with my
wife and child.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, you better wear sunglasses, dude, you better, You better
do it.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
It's at night. The problem is it's at night, so
there's you know, I'm limited in what I can do,
but yeah, that should be fun.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
You think those hips might lie? I mean, she is
getting up there in age. They still don't a lot, right.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
She seems like she's a pretty good shape. I think.
I think this is like if you if you don't
count Disney on ice or whatever. This is Twuki's first concert,
so hell.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yeah, all right? Look what was your first concert again?
Wasn't it like.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Collective Collected Soul in Valdosta, Georgia? A real sad beginning.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
My first concert was a fourth July third Fireworks free show, Blood,
Sweat and Tears nineteen eighty nine. You know with free
fireworks you can't you can't come bad. You know, you
can't be bad at all? Great stuff? Did you also
call fights this week for xFC?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
So? So that was pre recorded the night that I
had gone the last time that was. xFC has basically
two kinds of programs. They have their like regular ones,
that's when I did in Iowa. And then at kill
Cliff they do one called their Young Guns, which is
where you know obviously up and coming talent, or it's
not quite just a up incoming talent, but you get

(05:54):
the idea. And so we just recorded him back to
back one aired live that night, and then when that
was over, we had like a ten minute break and
then went and recorded these ones. But if I can
be honest, I thought that that was xFC Young Guns
seven and xFC Young Guns eight. I thought eight was
better than seven. And if I do say so myself,
two names on that card really worth paying attention to

(06:15):
ta Kayas Suzuki, who trains out a Killcliff when he's
in the States but is actually under Yu should Okami Thunder,
you know, form a UFC title challenger.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Hell yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
And then after that, this kid, I'm telling you man,
I just would be very surprised if we don't hate
the Japanese kid's a flyweight, but this other kid, he's
a I think he's a welterweight. Chris Alvidrez is he's
something different. He looks like he might be one you
really want to keep an eye on. He's picking up

(06:44):
a bunch of fights on short notice, and he gets
first round ko's and virtually all of them.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
He's interesting, So he's he's beyond what we would consider
a future twelve and twelve. This guy might actually do some.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Things a future twelve and twelve. I mean, well that
just might be like what happens for all of them anyway.
But what I'm trying to say is he fought to
I think Takashi Sato, who fought Blah Mohammed deep into
the third round, who has two wins in UFC, a
bunch of other fights in UFC, a go big time
experienced guy. And Alvidrez, who I think this was his

(07:16):
six or seventh fight, bulldozed him. Really really interesting kid.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Good stuff, good stuff. Love what they're doing over there
with Biggie and Luke Thomas at the Excess. So shout
out to Jessica Aguilar, former pound rank fighter as well.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Live Yeah, she's there too. That's right.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Long is Look, you're gonna be doing a show this weekend,
right for these two women in this main event. It's
a good fight, good ass fight, bro.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Not only just the main event, the entire card baby,
we do it big for the APEX cards full card watch.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
A long shout out to Ludvolt, Thank you so much
for your service. Also, you can reach the show at
Morning Combat at gmail dot com and at the end
of today's broadcast, we will be hitting your fan submissions.
You're dead wrong, so stay tuned for that. If you
want to see Swol's wife in an MK shirt, all right,
probably probably Luke. Okay. Also, get ready for a big
merch announcement on Monday. Get fired up, let's go one

(08:04):
more plug. This coming Wednesday, June fourth, eleven am Eastern
Time in our Metal Lark, New York studios. It is
UFC three sixteen pregame preview, brought to you by Quervo
bc LT and Aaron Bronstetta bro tsn Or. Look, would
you say the nicest person in combat sports? Would you

(08:25):
say that?

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Oh? If he Yeah, he's on that pound for pound
list for sure, Okay he might be.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, yeah, shout out to that fella. All right, you know,
great stuff there, either him or Joanna. I mean, you
gotta be honest like my two favorites, you know what
I mean? Yeah, yeah, all right, that's great. Okay, Hey,
all right, we should probably start this show here. No
more awkwardness. Let's get into it before we get into
topic number one. However, there's been enough news popping up
in the last day and a half that we've got

(08:55):
a few topic zeros to get into, and one of
those is Luke tom this is finally ready to admit it.
The John Jones fatigue is real. It's finally really real.
Luke I told you it was real. I told you
will never talk about this guy again. We're gonna talk
about this guy very little. But he did appear on
the podcast. He did do that same song and dance rhetoric.

(09:15):
I don't know if I'm coming back, as his change
dot Org petition to strip him has reached just epic propore.
I mean, that thing's gonna be two hundred thousand before
we know it. But this is out of hand. This
is ridiculous. Even Kevin I only wrote a column about it.
He didn't take any shots at the UFC, by the way,
blamed it all on John. But you know that's something here.
We are in this In twenty twenty five, Luke I

(09:38):
felt like chill Son and got to the heart of
the matter. As Don Henley would say better than anybody else. Surprisingly,
here's Uncle Chaild not talking about what happened at the Luxer,
but it's saying what we're all feeling. Here, can we
throw to that quote board.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
I can't even make money with these guys on my
YouTube channel. I'm not only audited, I am publicly audited.
You can go and see what the people are w
I am bombing. If I put John Jones and Tom
aspinall in a thumbnail, I bomb people are not caring
about this fight. I have different guess is why I
hypothesize that the audience doesn't want to get two behind

(10:14):
something they're not confident they can get.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
I think is part of it.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
But I'm just telling you, as time is going on,
this fight, unlike other fights, is not getting bigger.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
It has gotten smaller. People are carrying less and less.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
And I don't know if you sign a pin you
have about agreement you cut in this FOURTS Center, you
make the big announcement, I don't know if you.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Can flip that. I'm just telling you.

Speaker 6 (10:39):
In my life, I've seen this happen many times boxing,
even some wrestling stuff, and it grew.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
This fight is going the other direction.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
It doesn't overly matter if they book this fight or
they bring Surreal in, it doesn't overly matter.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
You got about twelve to fourteen thousand.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Tickets in any given venue.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
You're gonna sell about twelve to fourteen thousand ticket it's
in any given beigew the pay per view is not
gonna go off the chart. But but if I was
to go back to November of last year, when when
when John Jones is hitting the President's Dance and He's
got Elon and everybody, what a powerful moments, and that
would have been the biggest fight in the industry, That
would have wiped out any notion of uh Francis.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
And Gono versus John Jones, just.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
For example, which a year prior was the biggest fight
in our industry. And if you remember, that's not a
torch that Francis handed to Tom. That was a torch
that went to Sergie Pavlich. Sergei Pavlich was supposed to
be the big scary one in John's closet that John
would never face, and Tom took that from him. So
you know, it's kind of a hot potato that moves quickly.

(11:41):
But but I bring that example up because people don't wait.
They didn't wait for Francis, they didn't wait for surgery.
They're not gonna wait for John and that's that's just
the truth.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Well, first of all, to pronounce surreal cereal, excuse me gain, Yeah,
that's right. Secondly, Luke, I'm gonna say something that I
don't know if you're ready for. I'm so pissed off
at this, and I think you were wrong saying we're
not at the end of a rope. I've been out
at the end of my rope for a long time.
On this. I'm ready to shut down the heavyweight division,
reactivate women's one, four or five so Kayla doesn't have

(12:11):
to pee read anymore. Let's just move forward. I'm done looking.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
There's just nothing left to say. There's there's there's no news,
right every time he does one of these interviews, there's
there's just the same thing. He's half in, he's half out.
There's there's nothing new that comes out of it. We're
not I mean, there's just we're even this me now
talking is kind of a waste of time. It's just
worth saying out loud one more time. Let's just bring
this back up. You see, when we actually have real news,

(12:37):
not oh it's rumored. Oh so and so is saying
no announced official in the book or not. Whatever, whatever
is gonna happen, We can bring it back up then,
But just doing this song and dance all the fucking time.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
You don't care anymore.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I don't care, UFC.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
We don't care anymore. You are continuing continuing this path
to irrelevance, even if you announced this in some beautiful
announcement that coincides with your new TV deal. We don't
freaking care anymore. Okay, your enablers, it's your fault, UFC,
thank you very much. John's dancing on your grave making
fun of this, or maybe he's sitting on info that
he's gonna take the fight. Either way, we don't care.

(13:13):
Moving on, okay, Serge Pavlich, notwithstanding what a he that's
a hell of a pronunciation. By the way, let's go
to subtopic Luke zero number two. During the same week,
and this was maybe an undercovered story that Misha Serkinoff,
former UFC fighter, appeared to be launching a class action
suit similar to the ones previously launched by Cajun Johnson

(13:36):
and Kung Lee. Now we've got another bombshell. Today, the
john S Nashes, the Eric mcgrackens of the world are
all over it. Here's a tweet from John s Nash.
Phil Davis, who of course is currently with PFL, is
the named plaintiff and yet another antitrust class action complaint
filed against the UFC. This one is seeking injunctive relief

(13:56):
for non UFC fighters Crookly and then of course johns Nash.
We're going to say that he's got a podcast about
it with Stephie Haynes there and they are not seeking damages,
says Nash, but instead asking the court for only injunctive relief,
including the insertion of one year sunset provision options into
all UFC fighter contracts. Luke Eric McCracken would tweet that

(14:18):
this is potentially a continual monster game changer here as
we move closer toward what freedom or the end of monsopsony.
How big are these two things in your eyes? In
the direction that it's not going to get better for
UFC and TKO on this matter.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Well, yeah, it should also be noted I believe this
is the case in the Serkanov one, but for sure
it's the case in the Phil Davis one that and
I think it's true in both the law firm representing
the fighters in the existing class action lawsuit, the one
that's currently going through settlement is the same firm representing Davis,
and I believe as well Serkanov. They're trying to do
different things. Serkanov is trying to get the arbitration agreements

(14:57):
and then the class action waiver. So I think starting
in twenty twenty two, you have to like wave your
right to participate in class section lawsuits. They're trying to
get that challenge and arbitration agreements challenged, you know, again,
not claiming. I don't think he's claiming any damages. I
think they're just trying to fill in a gap from
stuff they got lost in terms of who could certify

(15:18):
as part of the Cajun Johnson case. It's kind of
in the weeds, but it's kind of the What you
should know is the circon Off case is kind of
attached to the existing lawsuit via the Cajun Johnson case.
The Phil Davis one is a new one, a truly
new one, like totally independent of that. And basically what
he's arguing is, I mean, I haven't had a chance
to really go through the lawsuit yet, but based on
my cursory examination that basically, if you because of the

(15:42):
way the UFC has conducted his business and the way
he claims is the you know, the unfair application of
you know, monopoly power in the market, a competitors just
can't exist. And also that it's lowered wages for everyone,
even not in the UFC because there's no competition, driving
prices up. And we'll see. I mean, the last lawsuit BC,

(16:04):
it took a decade to get any whale resolution to it.
Buckle up. I suspect it's going to take a long
time for this one to get something out of it
as well.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
But you don't think this speeds up some t k
o ari emanual sale to get out of this before
it gets worse so then he can support his brother's
presidential uh bid one day.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Ummm, that's a great question. I don't think so, but
we shall see.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
And does me making Eric McCracken Phil McCracken references instantly
bring you back to his P ninety xpix in your head?

Speaker 1 (16:37):
No, but it does bring me back to h. Kingpin, Yes, Kingpin,
great Fairly Brothers movie.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
I mean if you were low on rent, Luke, you
may do that too, you know what I mean, you
might have to do that.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Hey, can you get sick, drink and piss, even if
it's your own. That's a great line.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
I mean, Look, regardless of where seriously, regardless of where
this goes, would you say this is refreshing that that
the fighters involved here, the ones who had you know,
had had their their the end of their career is
negatively affected by this monopoly that we are pushing forward
to change.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I certainly think it's interesting that this law firm is
continuing its efforts. I kind of had assumed that once
this existing lawsuit came to a halt, they were going
to collect their paychecks and then just you know, head
for the hills. But it turns out they're not. Turns
out that they're kind of in this one for the
long haul. Looks like they want to see real change.
They got some coin for that existing class of fighters.

(17:36):
And I'm going to say one more time with Phil Davis, Dude,
they're not looking for I mean, you know, who's to
say what they might settle on, But as it states,
they're not looking for any money in the in the
law Davis is not asking for a penny. He's just
asking for the contracts to be changed. And that's something
he couldn't even benefit from, right Like, he could not
personally receive a reward. He's basically the end of his

(17:57):
deal or his career anyway. I will tell you, though, BC,
it's kind of interesting he's an active member of the
PFL roster and now engaged in this lawsuit. I wonder
what PFL has to say about that, and did they know?
And kind of an interesting moment.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I'm trying to figure out For a layman like me,
what's more confusing trying to figure out all this lawyer
speaking this lawsuit or trying to decipher Don Davis's recent
tweet about the PFL Championship Series and how it combines
all the champions of the year Luke the champions in
Mina against the tournament champions, against the Bellator champions, against
this champion to name the true champion in all of MMA.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah, nobody believes that. Nobody believes that, nor does anyone
even understand it.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
But fut out to future champion Kevin Lee, though getting
getting subbed in in those semi.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Finals gave him a very unenviable task he has to
go up. I mean, yeah, the good news, Okay, great news,
you're in the semis, you win, you go to the finals.
Bad news, you gotta fight Gatzi Rabadanhoff like tough fight.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
He might fight Brent Primis in the finals if he
gets through. I thought we'd see that matchup in this
calendar year. But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
What'd be awesome to see Kevin Lee back on top.
But I you know, it's it's who no matter who
you are, Man Robotenov is a tough ass fightink.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Final point on Kevin Lee. If he didn't have staff
against Tony, are we talking about a different career arc?
I mean, you've got to think about this that night, Luke,
you know when you're in bed.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Okay, I'm definitely not thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Then that's well, you're up all night angry, like you
know what I mean, Like you're sure I am about
that four energy drink? Yeah, the other day, how ill
advised that was? You know, Luke, I woant have been
when when you pass, uh, you know it'll be a
somber event.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
This is the uh, this is the strawberry blast U
zero sugar, no sponsorship we're not, you know, just I
live and breathe by it.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Look, you ever go to one of those wakes where
like they put in the coffin, like the Marlborough pack
in the pocket, they put the Miller High Life can
in the dead guy's hand. We're gonna do that with
you with vapes, a lot of other things. Okay, Shakira,
tickets whatever, All right.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Enough for this year tickets, that's right.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Finally on the zero topic stuff, Luke, are you moved
at this? UFC Nashville, July twelfth announces Stephen wonder Boy
Thompson against Brazilian submission artists Gabrielle Boonfieme, Are you in?
Are you in on this?

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I guess? I mean, okay, I don't hate it. I
don't have strong feelings about it. What it was interesting
we didn't put in the rundown today because we kind
of made it before all this became a big thing.
But like, and apparently they're walking some of this back,
but it was at least reported and rumored. I think
some of it is. It's not official, but they're gonna
have pyotr Yan fight Marcus McGee, and people were all

(20:42):
up in arms about it. And I'm like, cause he's ranked.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Like number two and ready for a title shot and
now he's facing a twelve thirty.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
So then let me ask the question, then, BC, why
do you think he took that.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Fight to stay busy and look great and be in
the spot.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
To get right right? Like again, if you see a
fight like that, it's not because the matchmakers didn't real
and all likelihood didn't realize that like, oh, him versus
Umar would be a much better fight, but I think
Lamar still injured. And then more to that point, like
more broadly, like if he wants to stay busy and
they're trying to find a name who's available, maybe the
other one said no, like this is just what was
available given the circumstances. And also Marcus mcin is like

(21:18):
a decent, like good fighter, you know, and that's not
it's not the craziest thing in the world. So yeah,
is it like ideal? No, it's not ideal, but they're
not working under ideal conditions.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Never forget that Sean Strickland went from an a bus
Magameta off knockout to a title shot and he won
the title. So you know, you can make that leap
in this.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Game a bus maga madoff.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
That's right, yeah, planes, trains, automobiles and a bus. Luke,
where's your hand between two pillows? Those aren't pillows? All right,
let's get into topic number one, the real topic number one.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Get fired up?

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Why because this Saturday here by the way in Las Vegas,
where I currently sit, UFC Fight Night is back at
the damn Apex. And say what you will about this card,
about its depth, about women's MMA in general. I'm fired
the hell up in the deepest division of women's MMA
at the moment, women's flyweight under the UFC banner. How

(22:12):
about Aaron Blanchfield versus Macy Barber in a red hot,
potential number one contender ish type fight. Also, it's getting
a little bit spicy up in here up in here,
so Luke, before we get into some of that spice,
let's just set the terms right off the top. I
love this fight, but love it or hate it, is

(22:33):
a title shot on the line in your eyes for
these two aggressive females at one hundred and twenty five pounds.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
I think it could be. I think it's which is
weird to say, because they're fighting in the Apex. They're
not even fighting necessarily like on the road, and you know,
and close this thing up, they're not even fighting on
the road, where like, you know, it's like a we
kind of like internalized there's like the tears, right the
Apex fight nights and then on the road fight nights,
and then pay per view being the highest level. We've

(23:00):
kind of internalized that, you know, fairly or otherwise. But
this is a weird one for me. It's like, I
I Natalia Silva is still kind of hanging out there,
and for that reason she might actually get it right.
So she is currently the number one rank contender. I
think fans are pretty excited about her. For the most part.

(23:21):
She has made an interesting return to MMA after a
brief hiatus, you know, the tragic passing of her sister.
Blanchield and Barbara are sitting respectively at four and three,
but two, four and five excuse me, but two and
three are Monalfia Road who just had it, and then
Alexa Grosso, who you know, is at this point not
really relevant for a title picture in any kind of way.
So like, I think a strong performance here very well

(23:45):
could end up leap frogging Natalia Silva, especially remember like
USC three sixteen. I've said this before. You've got you
got Morob who is winning against Sean O'Malley, and people
are like, why wasn't that yan Yan would have been
the more deserving fighter, which is certainly a true argument.
But as we've talked about before, if you're selling pay

(24:06):
per views to a pay per view buying North American audience,
you know, having an American on there, or at least
someone you know, Yes, having an American on there is
not always going to be some kind of difference maker,
but in general it certainly could. And Silva speaks English,
which is great. I'm just saying there are ways in
which the winner on Saturday could get a boost into

(24:28):
a title shot. It really depends on a few factors.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I don't think Silva speaks Englist, does she?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I think she does? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Camera really, yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
She's done.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Yeah, she's starting to make that movie. You're right, all right, Luke.
This matchup is fantastic because of I think the timing
of them meeting each other. Yes, Aaron Blanchefield's original meteoric
Unbeaten rise was snuffed out to a large degree by
Menal Furrow and their Number One Contender fight over five
rounds when when plan A didn't work for Blanche Field
with the takedowns, we got to see the difference between

(24:58):
the two of those. She did how he bounced back
with a hard fought win against former two time champion
at one fifteen Rosanama Unis. But on the flip side,
Macy Barber still read hot overall when you consider she's
riding a six fight win streak despite some ups and
downs with injuries and time off. Yet when you look
at the odds at the moment, I got to ask
you if you're surprised about this. Our friends at DraftKings

(25:21):
have Aaron Blantsfield as a minus two thirty eight betting
favorite against the plus one ninety five Macy Barber, who
I think you would have to agree Luke has much
better striking in this matchup. What's with this? Uh, with
the odds going this way? In your eyes?

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Boy, that is interesting. I'm just seeing these for the
first time, and uh, you know, I'm looking at some
of the other places that where you can get odds
are all pretty similar in that regard in terms of
the spread. Well, you know what, Let's let's before I
answered that, let's ask Long Island Luke, our resident betting
the contributor. I can serious, Why is the line like that?

Speaker 5 (25:56):
I think it's just Erin's resume, Like she's coming off
the Firo lost, sure, but like Firo's coming off a
title shot and she's coming off the Rose win. Like
both of those names are bigger than anyone Macy's beaten.
I don't know Macy's resume in front of me, but
that six fight win streak, if I'm not mistaken, it's
not against big names.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
I think is the biggest name.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Miranda Maverick by split decision decision over Dala Rosa, Jessicai
by decision split decision over KGB Lee. Then she stopped
Amanda Hebass, and then she won a three round decision
over former title challenger Caitlyn Sermonara. That's not bad, right,
It's not bad.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
But I feel like he Boss and Sermonar are the
only ones worth really putting any value in.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Those other names are kind.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Of heydicksing Rose coming up.

Speaker 7 (26:39):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Yeah, but she also is like she's wishy, washy, you know,
she ain't reliable.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I'll say this first of all, I mean, this fight
is getting killed online, but I don't really agree I
kind of like this a lot. You know, whether the
card is great, it's a different kind of conversation, but
the main event certainly has a ton of value in it,
not just because their stakes involved. But I can sort
of understand that, I mean, Blanchefield is a little bit well,

(27:07):
I don't know if that's true. I was gonna say
maybe Blanchefield is a little bit more of a bulldozer,
but I don't. I don't A little bit more of
a bulldozer with her wrestling, I guess is the way
I would put that BC.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Uh more violent?

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna I was gonna say that like
on the feet though, and particularly in the clinch and
stuff like that as well. And Barber's got like heavy
ground in pound two. Yeah, I don't know. I'll tell
you what. I find that that that's a little strange
for me that they're that far apart on this, And
in fact, what's kind of interesting is like they're really
similar in certain ways on their stats, with one really
big exception BC. First of all, they're they're a one

(27:44):
inch apart in height and one inch apart in reach,
so like they're very similar. Blanchefield has fifteen fights Barbara
has sixteen fights. Like, you know, they're kind of close
in that regard. They're born one year apart. Listen to
this strikes landing per minute five point two for Blanchfield,
four points for Barber, both pretty high. They're the Blanchfield
a little bit more hittable. Barber's got better defense, Blanchefield

(28:07):
absorbing four point two strikes per minute, which is very high,
and then two point nine for Barber, So she's much
cleaner as a striker in that regard. The one difference
on the grappling side, they'll be see Blanchefield's takedown defense
eighty percent very high and Macy Barber's take down defense
just fifty percent, so it's a little bit more vulnerable
in that regard. But even then, takedowns per fifteen minutes

(28:29):
one point eight six for Blanchfield, one point four or
four for Barber. Like they're in a lot of ways.
There are some meaningful differences, particularly in once you get
to the ground versus once you're still on the feet,
but there's a lot of similarities combining them. I just
feel like Barber a little bit more trickery to her game, right, Yeah,
a little bit more bite down on the mouthpiece in exchanges.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Kind of fighter, Well, well, Aaron will take punishment, she's
a warrior, but she doesn't have the same I don't
think head movement in boxing.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Yeah, I guess I would say Barbara a little bit
more of a slick stir, a little bit more of
a trickster in a good way. Obviously, Blanchefield very tough,
very straightforward, but a little bit more meat and potatoes
in that regard.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Well, those meat and potatoes had a lot of spice
sprinkled on top of them when these two started talking.
In fact, we got to bring in our friends from
Quervo because it's time for some shots fired. Let's hear
from Macy Barber, who is saying what some people believe

(29:32):
that Aaron Blanchfield's tough, but what about plan B. Let's
hear from Macy.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
I think Aarin's a one dimensional fighter, and I think
I've made that pretty known. She has her grappling and
she has a wrestling ability, but really, honestly, aside from that,
I don't think she's a great striker. She's not a finisher,
and she's not a dangerous fighter. She has some submission wins,
but what makes me dangerous compared to her. Is I
go out there to hurt you, and I go out
there to make you bleed, And I think that that's

(29:57):
what's going to be in my advantage. And I don't
care where the fight goes, whether it's on the standing,
on the ground. I'm going to finish Aaron Blairchfield. I
don't just want to go out there and fight these
girls and win. I don't want just a decision win.
I want to go out there and hurt these girls
and make sure that they know that when they get
done with a fight with me, they never want to
fight me again. I believe that I should be next
in line for the belt with a dominant performance, the

(30:18):
dominant finish and you know, putting my name out there
and doing what I need to do.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Look tow much you putting stock in what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
I love the attitude. I love the attitude. Is Blanchefield
one dimensional? No, no, no, I don't think. I don't
think that's quite right. I don't know. I mean this
is to me like a really interesting fight because Barber
came off the Contender series and we were hoping, like
you know, she was talking about I'm going to be

(30:48):
the youngest champion in UFC history, and I think, you know,
that's I don't think that's still on the table. Maybe
it is, like I can't even keep track anymore, but.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
It's not on the table.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Line Yeah, okay, but you know, she could still obviously
do very very impressive things and then Blameanfield is here, who,
as you know, as we saw, was making some names
on the prelim cards and whatnot, and then moving through
and we've kind of seen Blanchefield hit a wall obviously
in the Fierrou fight, but that's a wall is very
difficult to get around. Barbara represents a very different kind

(31:15):
of threat, not the kind of keep away threat. But
I guess the point I'm trying to make is, you know,
I'm genuinely unsure of who's got the higher upside here.
I really I have a hard time knowing, which is
part of the reason why I like this fight is
because they both got pretty credible claims to you know,
who's got next, But it's very it's very difficult to assess.
I mean again, the oddsmakers kind of think that this

(31:37):
is Blanchfield's fight to lose. Perhaps that it is, but
I don't know, I think Barbara has. There was a
while there where Barbara was a little bit stalled, like
right around that the Roxanne Mota Ferry fight and she
had that injury and then came back and then since then,
you know, I've seen real huge amounts of progress. She's
a deadly good fighter. I'm very curious to see this fight.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
No doubt about it. And those shots fired have been
brought to you by Quervo. Now is a good time
to enjoy the tequila that invented tequila. And how about
us enjoy enjoying some Quervo this Wednesday coming up June fourth,
eleven am Eastern UFC three sixteen pregame preview check it out.
There was a rebuttal of sorts and they're back and
forth on media day from Aaron Blanchefield. Let's check in

(32:18):
on this.

Speaker 8 (32:19):
Do you feel like a win here gives you the
shot at the title?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
I do.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
I think with a really good performance. I think at
this point it matters. It's winning, but also how you win,
So plan on winning in an impressive passion.

Speaker 8 (32:31):
So Macy came in here earlier and she sees you
as one dimensional and she's looking to finish you as
you said, she's an aggressive fighter. When you hear things
like that, and of course, you know all throughout your
career you're gonna hear people be critique, critical, and things
like that. For you, do you just kind of brush
that off and just zone that out or do you
feel like you put that to the fire and add.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
That to motivation Most of how I feel like I
just brush it off. I mean, people, you know, they
got to say what they got to say. But I
know who I am as a fighter, and I know
I'm all rounded. Yeah, I think in order to get
a title shot next, I'm definitely gonna need a finish.
You know, wins are always good and that's always the goal,
but a finish should be good in this one.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Look, this is kind of a weird or tough question.
Do you think this fight can reignite women's MMA in
any form, whether they put on a war over twenty
five minutes or whether one gets a dominant performance and
begins to shout out for a title shot. Can this
be the beginning of a turn in a bright direction
for women's MMA At the moment, I.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Think it's going to take a lot more about women's
MMA to be resolved and one fight simply cannot fix that.
And it's going to be true even at a higher level,
like if Kayla wins at UFC three sixteen and they
bring Amanda Nunez back and you have that that fight
would be great. B See, we both have been very
clear that's the fight that we want. I think it'd
be amazing. But at the same time, by itself, you know,

(33:46):
it can't save anything. It can you know, it can
save an event, but it can't save much more than that,
and so just keeping that in mind I think is
really important. However, what I would say is, you know,
any amount of creating hype for again a title shot
or whatever this fight ends up being. Any any putting
on a good fight is obviously important. But then you know,
the women's game does need rivalry, it needs something to

(34:08):
inject some life into it, and I don't know how
much the apex is going to facilitate that tomorrow night,
but any any amount, I think is a positive contributor.
And again, if you can create hype four a showdown
in the main event or excuse me for a showdown
at it for a title shot, this is exactly what
the doctor ordered. I really really hope we can get
close to something like that.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
You know, all things considered, I'm taking plus money on
Macy Barber here. I think if it comes down to
it on the feet, which it will over the twenty
five rounds, Look, Blanchield's toughest. Heck, she doesn't stop coming
forward even if she's taking damage. I get the advantages
on the ground that she could potentially have here. But
I like Macy Barber, and look if we're if we're
looking at their two runs or cases for a title

(34:51):
shot with a win up to this point, I think
with Barber being a potential fresh opponent to the title picture,
if she beats Blanchfield in this close up opportunity extends
her win streak to seven, I think she could potentially
crash that title picture. But I think on the flip side,
I heard what Aaron said right there that a win
could give her that I think she's gonna have a

(35:12):
harder road because we saw her handled not so long
ago by menon Faro. And I think if you consider
the fact that Natalia Silva seems to be due, Jungwai
Lee could potentially crash this division and get an instant
title shot against Valentina because of the star power. If
they go in that direction, I'm wondering with a win here,
if Aaron is probably gonna have to go get a

(35:34):
win over Manon to get that title shot. What do
you think about that?

Speaker 1 (35:37):
M Why would they do that? Like you, you need
as many viable contenders in this When you've got a
long reigning champion like this, you're gonna just feed him back.
I think I Fierro is gonna fight someone elseide the
top five?

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Well what if what if Blanchefield won, they did Jung
Way Lee next, and then you know Natalia Silva was
waiting in the bullpen. You're looking at a year right there.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Lancefield's going to have to beat another top contender in
my opinion, and since it would be weird to push
her into a title shot when she just got handled
by Meno, I'm just saying, Luke, I think she might
have to end up beating her to get it.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
That is yeah, I mean the the Jeong Way Lee
sweepstakes are the game changer here because that would then
change a lot about how this division functions and who
gets next. But if Jong Wi Lee ends up fighting,
then you might have the winner of this fight fight
the fight Natalia Silva, and then that winner gets you know,
the title shot at that point. So or if Jong
Wi Lee wins and it's controversial, they could do her.

(36:36):
I mean, there's a lot of ways that could just
completely upend everything. But to your point, this is the
point I'm trying to make. There is a likelihood that
if the winner here squeaks by or you know, just
gets a good But otherwise, you know, you didn't win
in any electoral landslide. You don't have a mandate. You
just have to go back out there. And there's a

(36:57):
good chance there's gonna be two fights in front of
them on Saturday and then another one after that. So
we really have to see.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
At least we have depth in at least one women's
division at the moment before Luke Thomas's prediction, let's get
one more from Long Island Luke Nocito of the main
card minute, Luke, I'm going plus money on Macy Barber. Here.
Break this matchup down from a betting standpoint, in terms
of where you're.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Leaning betting standpoint, I took the over two and a
half in a parlay.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
I think it's safe.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
I think this one probably goes five rounds, so two
and a half definitely feels good. Barber at plus money
is super tempting. I was considering taking it. I might
still take it, but I didn't officially my prediction though,
I'm going to Erran by decision.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
I feel like you just picked both sides. Did you
just hedge your garden right there? What's you said?

Speaker 1 (37:39):
I mean, I'm just saying.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
I'm just saying, if you want Macy at plus money,
there's value there. But if you're asking me how I
think the fight plays out, I think Eron wins by decision.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
I think that's your tri state bias talking right there,
Luke Thomas, who wins? And why.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
I'm gonna lean Blanchefield because I think that that three
percent takedown defence from Barber and Blansfield's willingness to take
punishment to get there is probably going to be the
difference maker. But I don't know. I don't think Barber's
anyone to sleep on. I really don't. I'm kind of
excited about this main event.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
All right, let's find out if you are excited about
the co main event in the lightweight division. As number seven,
Matteush Gamro welcomes a very tough customer and lude Volt Klein. Luke,
is Gamrod in your eyes, being disrespected by taking this
fight against an unranked fighter, or is this the opportunity
for Klein to get some respect with a big win

(38:33):
against an established name.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's a couple of things
happening at once. The loss to Hooker was bad for
Gamrot because I think he was widely expected to win.
That guy like Dan Hooker not really known for his
takedown defense, good fighter obviously, but not known for his
wrestling per se. And Gamrock's especially known for that. Remember
he had like a tooth and nail fight with arminsar
Ukin had amazing wrestling scrambles, So so that was a

(38:58):
real setback. I think the other part, though, is like, dude,
people just don't want to fight Gamrot. I mean, if
you're in the top five and top ten, he's not
a great fight because he's really tough to beat, and
even if you beat him, it's probably not going to
be very exciting. And it means a lot like if
you beat a guy that good, it obviously tells us

(39:18):
you are very good, but it's it's just a really
hard I mean, you know, credit to Dan Hooker for
doing it, but it's not a lot of people are
going to sign up for that assignment, you know. I
get it. However, as I mentioned, he's coming off the
lost Hooker, I think he needed a rebound. Kline has
been slowly but steadily climbing the ladder, and I think
has earned an opportunity. So for him, it actually makes

(39:40):
a lot of sense PC, because what better way to
prove you belong among the upper tier of lightweights than
by beating Mateyoush Gamrot. It actually would be exactly what
he needs. He's not so much worried about building a name.
He just wants to prove about what company he thinks
he is ready to keep in terms of everyone around him.
Of very good fighter, as I indicated, has I think

(40:02):
earned a step up. Maybe this will be too much
of one, but I sort of get the matchmaking. It's
just that people associate gam Rock with the top of
this division, and with good reason. But for other factors,
as we just mentioned, the client fight actually makes a
little bit more sense.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
I like the fight. The thirty year old client from
Slovakia is of course nicknamed mister highlight. He's on an
unbeaten streak that has reached seven fights. There is a
draw in there, a majority draw against Ji Herbert, but
he's unbeaten in those seven fights. Vegas thinks this will
be a close one. The odds according to DraftKings plus
one thirty Clin minus one five to five the veteran

(40:38):
Gamra Luke. How much is the fact that Gamra, mostly
known for wrestling, Klein has a nasty shutdown takedown percentage.
How much of that is playing into these odds in
your eyes?

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Yeah, there have to be some Lulevit kleinb above ninety
percent takedown defense. That's very, very very good. That's very good.
He's gonna be a tough customer. But at the same time, like,
who are the guys he's fought that can wrestle, Like Gamrock,
Let's go through it, Roosevelt Roberts, no Thiago Moises, no
aj Cunningham, no Ignacio obam Mondez. Is very good, but
he's not a wrestler on the level of Gamroth, Mason Jones,

(41:12):
Davonte Smith and then Shane Young or some other fights
he lost along the way. Like none of those guys
wrestle like Gamrock. You know what I mean. So this
is what I mean. This is why. Actually I know
people are looking at the Yon versus McGee fight and
then Gamroth versus Klein, and I think a lot of
people like these are not the names that I thought
they would have paired. But when you actually dig a
little bit beneath the surface, again, the Jan McGee one

(41:35):
might be just more function of who's available on what
kind of calendar. But in this case, there are good
reasons for both guys to take this fight, and they
It means something much more for Klein than it would
for Gamrock. But Gamrod needs to get right and this
could help him do exactly that.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Since Gamrock's UFC debut in twenty twenty, when he lost
a split decision to Geram Kute Lazzi, look, he's been
very impressive. That split decision loss to Hooker in his
last fight, the twenty twenty two decision loss to benil
der Jusch. Both losses maybe slowed what would have been
a rise toward true contention at the top level, But
in between Luke He's got a submission to Jeremy Stevens,

(42:15):
a TKO win over Carlos Diego Fajeda, a decision win
over Armin Sarukian, split decision over Jalen Turner, an injury
TKO over Rafael Fhaziv, and then a decision over the
veteran former champion RDA. A very credible resume there. That's
a better resume than most in this division. But would
you agree that people don't look at him as a conqueror.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
However, yes, what why would you look at him like
a conqueror?

Speaker 3 (42:43):
I mean he's beaten big names, but I don't look
at him as a guy that I'm just waiting for
his moment to get that title.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Shof. They look at him like a domineering wrestler. They
do that, but they don't look at him much beyond that.
Like his striking is I think useful to him, but
it's not especially dangerous. He's not a huge submission threat.
He's just really doggedly, you know, like a like a
torture the metaphor, like a dog on a bone. I
mean he is. He's He's got really aggressive, good scrambling wrestling,

(43:14):
top control, you name it. That's where he lives and breathes,
and that that has actually helped him get as far
as he has, but it's also kind of limited him.
Bec It's kind of limited like what he could be,
and I think it's limited him limited him in the
Hooker fight, he had no real other offense, not much
of an offense, I should say, to go to. It's
kind of been the thing that has propelled him as
well as been the albatross around his neck. It's actually

(43:37):
an opportunity for against Cline. Yeah, I'm sure he's gonna
use his wrestling, but if the wrestling is not there,
this is a good opportunity for Gamrot to show us
maybe he's got some other stuff and we can get there.
We'll have to see.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Look, how would you gain great excuse me, the depth
of this particular APEX card.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
That's more of a question for main card minute boyfriend
of the Year material.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
I mean, yeah, but he's gonna praise it, you know that.

Speaker 5 (44:00):
You know he'll be like, oh no, no, let me
let me run through it. I mean the main and
Komaine a solid I don't think we can deny that.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
That's fine.

Speaker 5 (44:07):
There's a steep drop off after that. Kaitlyn Vieira Macy Chasson.
That's a good fight, you know, someone's gonna come out
top for some.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
For some people are hyping the Billy ray Goff and
Rami's Brahima fight, which should be action oriented.

Speaker 5 (44:19):
I think I don't love that because it came together
last minute. Brahimaj was supposed to be fighting Oban Elliott.
Billy Golf was supposed to be fighting co Is his
last name, I don't know his first name. I apologize
that got rescheduled. Now Oban Elliott's fighting co at iSER Baijan,
And now.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
This matchup's made. I'm a little worried this one might
be a dud.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
Hey, guys, I'll just settle it for you. This car
blows after the top two. Yes, it's acceptable on the
main and Komain a solid. It blows chunks after that.
It sucks the horn if you will, will you Luke?

Speaker 1 (44:51):
I will not suck the horn, but I do recognize
that there is a horn to be sucked.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
You know what I'm saying, who's going to be the
biggest winner on this undercard? Let me ask you that,
who's gonna answer their position or who has that potential?

Speaker 1 (45:02):
Uh that's a good one. Mm uh probably if he can.
Maybe ram Is Brahimi could be one of those guys. Uh,
the Kevin Vieira, I think could you know, add a
little bit to something if she wins, maybe Zachary Reese

(45:23):
and do just go to Dorovich off alto something something
as well.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
I do like that Vieira Chazon fight. There's some there's
that's a good matchup there. We do have some from
good old gam Rot on his motivation entering this client fight,
which certainly could be a big one for his advancement
up the rankings.

Speaker 10 (45:40):
He's dangerous upon a tough man, high level striker, very explosive,
very good kick, high kick, old kick. He has good
wrestling defense statistic, But the question is who tried to
take him down? You know the guys who who shout

(46:02):
his leg? This was not high level wrestler. So he
defends this. So I want to ruin his statistic this fight. Yeah,
but I want to be brave this fight, you know,
I want to exchange punch with him, take him down,
making diet touch touch, hit him, don't be hit, and
finish in the ground.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
Well, look, he made the similar points you did of
great takedown defense, but against two against two, also, what
do you make of old gam Rot? They're saying, I'm
gonna take some chances, I'm gonna throw, take give back.
Are we gonna see aos a surprising three round battle here?

Speaker 1 (46:41):
I hope, I hope. I hope it's not standard gam Rot,
which is the up your symbol from nineteen ninety five.
I hope, you see, in all seriousness, I kind of hope.
I hope that we get a little bit more. I
hope that there's a little bit more to it then
we still you know, Gamrot wins, but he wins the

(47:02):
same way he always wins. Well, then yeah, it's a
nice win, but you're just kind of back where you
were before. Like, let's let's see if you can up
the ante. Let's see if you can get to another place.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
You know what I'm saying, Yeah, I know what place
we're trying to get to, Luke, I want to get
there too, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (47:16):
What's that high at balls?

Speaker 3 (47:19):

Speaker 3 (48:48):
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, Luke Thomas. Let's go
into topic number two. As we record this, the UFC
continues to be in its negotiation post negotiation exclusive negotiation
window with the UFC with the ESPN excuse me, and
looking towards a new broadcasting deal. Will it be Netflix,
will it be Prime? Will it be Fubo Sports? Probably not,

(49:09):
but Luke reports are starting to suggest here that UFC
is likely in some or most and potentially even all
capacity set to return to ESPN if this goes down
this way. What would a return to ESPN mean for
UFC at this juncture when we know they were ambitiously
seeking one billion dollars per year for a new deal

(49:30):
that would essentially triple what they previously received. And how
will this land with the fan base if we see UFC,
like I mentioned, signed up for a majority or all
of it staying on the plus oh.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Man, I feel like this is a big topic. I mean,
I okay, so here's why I think this is kind
of a big deal. BC. Maybe you disagree, but it
seems to me that the fans have been led to
believe that the UFC, not without some good reason, but
they've been led to believe that the UFC is basically

(50:05):
done with ESPN when this deal is up. They didn't
reach a deal in the exclusive of negotiating window, and
they're talking to other players, and yeah, you know, there's
always a chance they could go back to ESPN, but
the likelihood is that they're going to just take their
services to Netflix and maybe not be on ESPN at all,
or if they are in some very very minor capacity.
And I think it's actually the opposite. Now, again, we're

(50:28):
not in these board rooms, we're not in these negotiations,
we are not in these places where these conversations are
being had. But I believe we have this asset if
we can from Variety Magazine, I'll let me read it
to you for the folks who are listening on the
audio platform. Quote. In terms of distribution, the UFC will
likely keep most of its content with ESPN and split
off other pieces to a streaming platform. The exclusive access

(50:50):
ESPN Plus has to the UFC's pay per view and
fight night events are a key value proposition for several subscribers,
and the UFC's growth has helped drive day seventy five
percent year of a year increase and scribs. I'm not
sure how true that is, but whatever from the UFC's perspective,
Disney's ability to broadcast fights via ESPN, ESPN Plus and
ABC offers a unique blend of channels to showcase its
athletes and gain more fans. But Netflix makes the most

(51:12):
sense to emerge as a new home for some of
the UFC's content, considering the existing relationship with TKO and
the fact that the streamers investments in live sports have
largely been focused on combat sports. So there's more to
that story, obviously, but here's the deal BC. They're almost
certain to remain with ESPN. Again, as the question you
indicated in, I think the majority of its capacity recently there.

(51:37):
If you go to the ESPN Plus back end, they've
they've wiped tons of content out of there, only like
the most recent events are on there still. But like
the New York Post reported that that was because they're
doing some technological changes to the back end, and that
stuff should go back on there. So we'll see how
that goes.

Speaker 3 (51:55):
When they wiped the back end, do you think they
were standing.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
Only if they wanted to do it correctly and fully,
unlike your disgusting body, which just walks around with feces
between your cheeks. In any case, it's too far in
any case. In any case, But BC, here's what you
have to think about, the way in which the UFC
delivers its product, right, How they create tiers, how they

(52:19):
build a calendar. All that stuff is driven by the
broadcast deal and what they want from the UFC. In
other words, how many events do they want a year,
how long do they want those events to be? The
way in which they currently give twenty million dollars to
the UFC per pay per view event, right, so that

(52:43):
number might be expected to grow to grow in the
next television deal. But I'm trying to point out the
way in which the content is delivered to us, both
in terms of ESPN's you know, user interface, but in
how it's packaged and built and how much of it
there is, and what in incentives are built into the
UFC to try in certain places and not in others.

(53:05):
All of that is driven by the arrangements with the
broadcast deal again overseas commitments too, but a huge portion
of it. What I'm trying to say is, b see
if they change the way that the contracts work, if
they create new incentives to I don't know, I'm gonna
make up something, build ten less events, or make pay
per views much stronger by whatever's in the contract itself

(53:28):
for you know, you name it, all different kinds of
ways that could change how the product is built for
us in the end as consumers. And I think my
hope would be if they're going to stay with ESPN,
that ESPN wises up and makes the UFC have to
earn it a little bit more with how they deliver
the product.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
I mean, look, when ESPN recently cut terms with Top
Rank at the end of their deal, which will officially
expire following this July twenty six card with x Anders Ayaz,
the feel around here was that for all the money
Top Rank in boxing, I mean, the fuel around there,
the whispers where for all the money Top Rank was guaranteed,
they didn't necessarily provide the big fights that was expected

(54:10):
at the beginning of the deal. Remember they did paqi
al Horn to millions of viewers on live ESPN. I
wonder if I mean, I don't wonder. It feels like
it's a very similar scenario here. You could argue back
with what you just did that the only reason why
we have fight cards nearly every weekend, which is completely
stretching and watering down the product, is because ESPN wants

(54:30):
it that way. Now does ESPN want it that way
in the apex warehouse? I think that's another conversation. Does
ESPN like the almost you know, punting of the matchmaking
this quality this calendar year? I think that's another argument.
But let's talk about the elephant in the room if
this is true, the elephant in the room being Netflix
into a smaller degree slash Prime Video. I mean, TKO

(54:53):
wasn't shy in their ambition of saying they're seeking one
billion per year. They're trying to triple the original deal
with the ESPN in terms of value. But how much
in your eyes based on the rumors And we can
only go on rumors and sourcing here because neither you
have c TKO Turkey Ala chic ring or commenting published
publicly on what really happened here. But We are kind

(55:15):
of led to believe that the weekend of the Netflix
upfront in New York City, that Dana White and Turkey
were there, probably under the guise of launching TKO Boxing
with a Canelo Crawford fight this September. Then we saw
what happened with the date being changed. In all this crypticness,
do you believe that there's a possibility here that Turkey
costs UFC parts of this deal with his behavior if

(55:39):
those reports are true, or do you think it's simply
Netflix is on record saying they only want big events,
grand events. Doesn't really do big grand events.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
Anymore, or they could with pay per view. But do
they want to give up some of that to Netflix?
Maybe they do, Maybe the answers they do. Maybe they
want to give them, like the Fox deal, one a
quarter or something like that. That seems entirely possible. I
guess we'll have to wait and see. But the TKO
thing is really interesting, bec because the UFC has been
looking for a billion dollars a year in this broadcast renewal,

(56:09):
so that's what they want. They want a billion a year,
And that Variety report I just showed said that they're
probably closer to the seven to eight hundred million. But
if they included TKO boxing as part of the deal
with ESPN, that could bump into a billion, right, So
the combination of UFC plus TKO boxing could end up
getting a billion dollars or you know, some combination between
the two of Netflix and and and ESPN. But this

(56:33):
is the thing, dude, like who wants the APEX fights?
Like everybody wants, you know, you would imagine that UFC
pay per views would be highly coveted right by ESPN,
by Netflix, you name it. And even some of the
fight nights could potentially be highly coveted as well. Remember
some of the stuff airs on ABC, the stuff in
Abu Dhabi like these are you know, they can put

(56:54):
some pretty big names on those two. But after that,
what is the market for it? Now? If you're the UFC,
you need that stuff because you have to keep the
rest of the divisions moving with the events that take
place there. And you know, if you're ESPN, I guess
you want as many of those weekends filled up with
UFC content as possible, although there's maybe some question about that,
but you can't sell those by themselves, Like who's gonna

(57:15):
buy those who's gonna buy APEX fights like they don't.
They don't do anything for you all that much. And
so the question is how you divide the more premium
end of the product. Throwing in TKO might be Boxing
might be able to do that for you, But that's
there's a lot of wishy wash you there. And B
see to the point you raised some of the rumoring,
and we don't really have great reporting about it, but

(57:36):
some of the rumoring that's out there is that Turkey
might have blown up things so badly with Netflix that
Netflix might be reconsidering their UFC push all together, and
that now ESPN has even more leverage than they once
did before. So I just want to be clear to fans,
like I mean, I don't know what's gonna happen anymore

(57:58):
than the other people, but there are there are a
lot of reasons to believe that. Like if you thought
we were done with ESPN and the ESPN plus era,
it appears we are not. It appears we are not.
I will say one more thing. I will say one
more thing. I realize that other people have had totally
normal experiences, but I have not had a great experience

(58:21):
using ESPN plus it has been a very very bad
service to me in numerous ways. Whatever happens next to
BC if they stay with UFC, I'm begging ESPN to
do something about this. I am begging them, and I
know that they've got this new system that they're rolling out.
I forget the new name of it. BC. Do you
know that the new ESPN they're rolling out, the new

(58:43):
the thirty thirty dollars a month service, it's got some
new name.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
It's gonna be so you can order it separate from
a cable package.

Speaker 1 (58:49):
Yeah, whatever, But it's supposed to come with a new interface.
I'm hoping that they've fixed those problems, because that would
that would at least address one core element of the
fans experiences, which is your app just doesn't work well.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
Right, No, that's that's damn right. But I gotta ask
you a critical question here. Let me frame it like this.
In twenty sixteen, when Zoofa and the Fertidas sold the
UFC for over four billion to our Emmanuel Endeavor WM
whatever became. You know, we know where we are now
with Endeavor in TKO. What did they do leading up

(59:23):
to that sale? They put on from the end of
twenty fifteen through UFC two hundred and twenty sixteen some
of the most loaded cards and on fire matchmaking we've
ever seen. Now, it certainly helps when McGregor's rocket ship
is going like that during that period of time. Also,
Ronda and Brocks still lingering. I get it, But do

(59:43):
you think this shows potentially the unrivaled arrogance of TKO
and UFC if after boldly asserting their goal to get
one billion per year and potentially going to Netflix or
Prime or both at the same time, if they end
up majority or ex lusively on ESPN. Look at how
the Fertidas did it leading into that sale. They put

(01:00:05):
their best foot forward by far. You have C two
hundred week three cards in a row on successive nights,
all title fights on top, and they're ridiculously loaded. You
have C two hundred card even with John Jones in
the drug situation there. Do you think we'll look back
at the arrogance of UFC and TKO because how important
is this window right now of negotiation, just like the

(01:00:25):
exclusive one with UFC. I'm sorry with ESPN to open
the year, and what has this calendar been? Not their
best foot forward? Like the worst foot forward that we've
seen in their modern run, where it's not just too
many Apex warehouse cards, it's not just water down matchmaking,
it's not just an inability to make the big fight.
It's all of that at once. How do you enter

(01:00:46):
such an important season when you're trying to get record
setting money from people and trying to exercise the full
potential of your brand by purposely putting out a weak
value extraction product. How the hell do you think that's
gonna work? Right?

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
It's the million dollar question. It's the million dollar question.
I I mean, I've kind of I'm kind of going
in circles at this point. B see, but I I
like I said, I'll just say it. I'll just say
it one more time. What I am hoping is, you know,
I was hoping that they could take their show somewhere else.
But what I am hoping is that this new like

(01:01:26):
the ESPN can look at the results of the last deal.
Remember you see, remember the original deal was five years,
and then they bumped it to seven because everyone was
really happy, and at first everything was flying, and now
things have kind of come back down to earth a
little bit. Obviously, USC is still tremendously popular, but you know,
it's just not what it was, you know, I don't
know twenty twenty two or something like that, right, But

(01:01:48):
now they've got data, they've got data around this, and
they can say to them, you know, this didn't work
for us the last time out. We want it to
be this different way. I don't know if they will
or how that will look, but I'm hoping it'd be. See,
there's something else that we should kind of talk about
here a little bit, Like, for example, the UFC shot
itself in the foot when they told Francis to pound

(01:02:08):
sand And I mean, granted, maybe maybe he was gonna go,
but they should bring him back. They should. They probably won't,
but they should bring him back because he would inject
some life into this division. But the reality is, even
if you brought Francis back, and even if John were active, yeah,
you'd we'd be a lot happier. But heavyweight is in
trouble beyond the UFC, Like heavyweight is in trouble globally.

(01:02:34):
There are just not as many people who are athletes
of that size, who are good or whatever, who are
interested in this. And it seems to me that if
you're ESPN, and you're looking at the situation asking some
questions about, like, how do we make sure that this
product because like what the UFC has done for a
long time. Understandably, this is not a criticism. They've kind

(01:02:58):
of received the sport as it was. I mean, it's
a little bit more to it than that, but they've
they've done a lot of receiving of it and that
worked fine when every when the rest of the architecture
of the sport was operating as it was intended. But
now in many ways it is not. And so the
other question you have to ask yourself your ESPN is
beyond just how do we arrange this product with this

(01:03:18):
broadcast partner, what do we do to incentivize them to
meet some of those challenges that exist beyond their shores
that end up just affecting them as a consequence. I wonder,
by the way, if ESPN also might say to them, hey,
you got to get Francis back, you know what I mean, like, well,
look what kind of hand are they going to have,

(01:03:39):
and saying we want a better product.

Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
For that to happen. Dana's got to go because this
idea of holding lifelong grudges against fighters is holding up business.
I always say it, vincick Man pretty horrible human being
in a lot of ways, but one thing is he
always always always put the business ahead of everything. That's
that's why from Brett Hart to the Ultimate Warrior to

(01:04:02):
whoever the enemy could always come back through that door
if it's better for business, because Vince knows in the end,
the fans are happy he wins. Everything's great. He's still
the boss. Whether whether someone screwed him over he welcome
back or not. They're always coming back on his terms.
He's the boss. This whole era of Dana you know,
won sin and you're dead to him, and then you're

(01:04:24):
writing people out of history. It's not gonna work moving forward.
So if TKO wants to stay in business here and
keep extracting all this wealth from UFC, they've not only
got to try more to get things like this to happen.
To bring back Francis, you got to get rid of
this petty bullshit at the top and that stand away.
I'm serious, Like TKO, you're actively ruining this fantastic promotion

(01:04:46):
and it's not even like it's happening to you by accident.
You're actively doing it. Look, if this were we don't
bring up these names a lot, but if this were
Frank and Lorenzo right now trying to set up to
try to get a billion dollars a year, you know
what we would have seen in the first six months
this year. We would have seen Ilio versus islam at
ifw we would have probably seen Connor versus Patty in
the spring, and we would already have Jones aspinall booked

(01:05:08):
like six months ago and playing up this long build
to it. That's what it would have done, because at
that time, do you know what it was about? Yes,
it was about making money, but it was about promotion
and putting the sport first and using the assets you
have to get the most money. They don't care about
using the assets to make the money. They just care
about using the reputation. But your reputation is worth shit

(01:05:30):
over time. When people can't afford to go to your
shows and you're not even putting your best fighters in
the fights, you're almost doing some Don Davis like bullshit
right here.

Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
I don't know if I can go to mister LinkedIn
quite that far, but it's time for a new way
of thinking, Like we're just not dealing with the sport
as it once was. It's in a new era, and
there's good things about that, and there's bad things about that.
There are things that are simpler, and there's things that
are now more challenging. And I think having a more
open attitude the way you describe, or at least a
different attitude about what kinds of things you can do

(01:06:03):
and what makes sense for the business. You know, we're
just not in a place where we can just entertain
grudges like that and you're gonna have the same product.
I mean, that used to be a bigger thing. BC.
Dana White could maintain a grudge and you more or
less didn't notice it, you know what I mean, Like
you more or less someone was gone, but you didn't
feel it in that same way. Like, yeah, they lost

(01:06:24):
Paul Daily, but he had already lost to Josh Koshchek
in that fight, and you know, the division kind of
moved on without him. But now we're getting to a
place where like just letting people go like that has
a much much, especially at heavyweight, has like a huge consequence,
and it just doesn't work the same way. Again, whether
it's Netflix, especially if it's Netflix, bro, if Netflix is

(01:06:45):
in business. They have to be saying you got to
bring back Francis. You can't, you can't keep doing this
like this is not acceptable. But I don't know, I
don't know. The UFC are powerful negotiators and their powerful entity.
This is I just want folks to be ready for
some of these bigger considerations that we're airing out here.

Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
I'm just saying when we criticize Turkey Alaschik, for example,
Turkey's done a lot of good for boxing the last
year and a half, but there's another side to it too.
And when we criticize him not from a sportswatching, prison,
you know, perspective, but from a straight up boxing matchmaking
execution perception, a lot of times we go, yeah, he's ambitious,
he wants to make big fights, but he's like doing

(01:07:24):
a video game style and screwing up people's arcs and
just grabbing people and put them together. And what do
we do? What do we say? Not a boxing guy.
At the end of the day, maybe boxing people should
really be handling this. Guess what are Emmanuel very successful guy?
Not an MME guy? Luke Okay, Mark Shapiro not an
MME guy. At the end of the day, not fight
promoters at the end of the day, value extractors. Okay,

(01:07:47):
we got to wake up to this. Can we put
the just like we say about PFL, Don Davis not
a fight guy. Can we put the fight people and
keep positions to make fight decisions? There is like a
health of the sport factor that matters. It just feels
like TKO can't wait to sell this thing to the
highest bidder right after they've ruined it. That's really what
it feels like. But enough of that absolute BS loop.

Speaker 1 (01:08:07):
Yeah, I mean, I don't have anything to add to that. Again,
I just want folks to be aware. There's a lot
of thinking that like, oh, ESPN is done, they're not.
But how they redo it BC is a I think
an enormous question. Looking forward to seeing what happened.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
But you'd agree it's playoff time as far as UFC
broadcast rights negotiation right now, it's playoff time.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
Oh yeah, it's out Game seven absolutely well.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
Speaking of playoff time in pro basketball right now, oh boy,
it's heating up big time. It is playoff time. And
if you're still just watching these playoff games, let me
tell you you're missing out because with pick six from DraftKings.
You can turn your hoops knowledge into real cash. Just
make your picks, track your score and if you hit
all six, you're looking at bigger payouts then prize picks
flex pays. All right. Look, so this is where we're

(01:08:50):
going in the Eastern Conference. Look, we already know that
the Oklahoma City Thunder and SGA are in the finals
in the West, but come East, we are looking at
game six tomorrow night Saturday in Indianapolis, Nicks at Pacers.
When we're looking at a matchup like that that is
red hot, and when we're thinking about it from a
pick six perspective, picking the players that will really give

(01:09:12):
it to you in all those categories, there's a lot
of interesting names to consider right here, but I think
first and foremost you got to consider Haliburton Luke there
with Indiana. Who's going to come back and make a
big statement and knock these Nicks out and send them
home in game six?

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Here, Yeah, Tyrese, Haliburton's a guy you could go with.
You know what, Pascal Siaka, that dude stays contributing in
the league. I'm always very surprised by that, no doubt
about it. But of course, you see if you're a
Knicks guy, got Jalen Brunson, Karl Anthony.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Town with those rebounds, right, yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
There's a lot of a lot of different ways you
could go. So here's what we want you guys to do.
Nobody's dropping better payoffs than pick six. Hit six picks
and that's twenty five times your cash. And if you
beat your competition, you could be looking at ready for
this five hundred times X bag in a pocket. And
right now, new customers get fifty dollars in bonus picks

(01:10:04):
with just a five dollars entry. So here's what you're
gonna do, boys and girls. The playoffs are on, so

Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
Look, it felt like you were directing people to a
via propaganda website there for a second.

Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
But I like so.

Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
I like your style. By the way, Luke, when it
comes to these the Thunder at the moment, they turned
ant Man into a mortal human being, you think they're
going to do the same to either the Pacers or
the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Can't Man is what they're calling him on NBA Twitter, SGA.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Maybe the MVP.

Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
He is good. He is good. Yeah, I think so.
I think that the from what I can tell in
my very expert opinion on it. Well that's we're expert
on baloncesto. Yeah, I'm the baloncesto king here. It does
look like that the Thunder are the most complete team.

Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
Yeah, they're on fire at the moment. Hey, we have
some breaking news and shout out to Long Island Luke,
who's running the ticker at the bottom of the screen
with the updated weights here. For Saturday night's APEX card,
the Kaitlyn Vieira Macy chaz On fight has been changed
from a bandamweight fight to a one hundred and forty
five pound fight. Luke, that would mean featherweight if they
still had a featherweight division. Also, the Trevin Giles versus

(01:11:59):
Andreas Gustavson fight is canceled doing an injury with Giles.
There you go, you moved at all?

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Not moved all?

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
Right? Right, here we go. Let's find out, Luke topic
number three if you're moved at all by the boxing
that is going on. News and notes first and foremost
will hit up where I'm going to be Tomorrow night,
Saturday night, eight pm Eastern on Prime Video. Premier Boxing
Champions is back with a four fight card featuring the
likes of former middleweight champion Caleb plant in the main

(01:12:31):
event against hard charging Armando Raycendez. And how about Jermalt
Charlow in his first fight in two years and just
his second and a four year stretch, will return to
make his debut at one hundred and sixty eight pounds
against Thomas Conflake Lamana. Both are big betting favorites here,
and of course the idea could be that we're building
toward a grudge match playing out between Plant and Charlo

(01:12:53):
if they both win here. But also shout out a
very good fight in the middleweight division here is Kirn Davis. Luke,
you know a Stephen Breadman Edwards trained fighter out of Wilmington,
Delaware who upset Elijah Garcia, who you know, gave a
very tough fight to Anthony Durell and a controversial draw
few years back, even pushed Benavidez a little bit out
of his weight class before Bredman threw in the towel.

(01:13:15):
He'll be taking on seven and oh cuban unbeaten middleweight
Joenle Hernandez. That's a very interesting fight that could have
title implications moving forward, Luke, there is marination potential here
where it could go wrong if Plant or Charlo lose.
The tentative plan would be them fighting each other. But
would you agree with me that seeing the state of
Jamal Charlo is at thirty five years old, still unbeaten

(01:13:39):
two division champion, but he's been through Helen Back a
couple of times missed out on the Canelo fight on
like two or three occasions. Yeah, he's a big favorite
over Lamana. But we got to find out if he's
still the same guy. The hitman comes Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Is he the one that got arrested for domestic violence recently?

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Yes, he had a rough divorce. He admitted to bipolar issues,
he had substance abuse issues. He's been through, Helen Back,
There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Have you talked to him this week?

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
Yeah, I talked to him in the fighter meetings. He
was more calm than he's been in some of these
press conference moments where he's very emotional and almost off kilter.
But he does seem here's one thing he said, Luke,
and I want to get your feelings on this. He
says this, I'm unbeaten. I've only fought once basically in
a four year stretch. I didn't take damage in these fights.
I got a ton of knockouts. He thinks that his

(01:14:25):
mental has finally caught up to a point of maturity
and understanding with his physical and that at thirty five,
he's about to enter his peak prime at one hundred
and sixty eight pounds.

Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Man, I don't buy that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
I mean, he says he's even through all the hardships,
been in the gym, always working out. Body is ready
to go.

Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
He's got a lot Okay, okay, fine, but like he
fought twice in twenty nineteen, once in twenty twenty, once
in twenty twenty one, and then not at all in
twenty twenty two, once in twenty twenty three, and didn't
look good it all in twenty twenty four, and this
is his first fight in twenty twenty five. Like he's
been super inactive. He's had you know, law enforcement issues,

(01:15:07):
substance abuse issues. Now he's not fighting as you indicated
to BC, like the toughest competition this time out. It's
all set up fight to get the Plant one going.
And they couldn't just make it because Charlo. I mean, dude,
I think they're making this fight, Like why is PBC
making this fight? Because they they need to see what
the hell they've got with Charlow, Like what the hell
is left with him? You know what I mean? Plant
to me seems like a pretty known and established and

(01:15:29):
good commodity. And if they can make the fight it
obviously speaks for itself and how big it would be.
It'd be great. But dude, like this fight is I mean,
Charlo can say what he wants. It's not like he's
been taking a ton of damage all this time, so
that's nice. But in terms of like competitive realities, they've
just been absent from his life and.

Speaker 3 (01:15:52):
He got a lot to dancewer for it. It's an
easy win, which is potential because of his skills are
better than corn Flake Lamana. He's got a lot to
ance with his mentality with a lot of things to
set up potential for that big plant fight. Luke Lamana
old Cornflake has been a He's a fighter slash regional promoter.
He got knocked out somewhat famously by one punch in

(01:16:14):
the first round against Arislani Laarra a few years ago
for a secondary middleway title. He told me in the
Fighter Mings this week that after that fight, he ballooned
to two hundred and thirty eight pounds. He was heavily depressed,
he retired, he started smoking and drinking and eating bad,
and then something triggered in him to make one more run.
He's won his last nine fights, but all on the

(01:16:34):
regional level. He is ranked in the top ten in
the WBA and he's gonna move up to one sixty eight.
He's calling this a rocky story. He says he's all in.
This is his last chance and last opportunity, and he's
been kind of cleverly pressing the buttons of Charlo. You're
not smelling upset, are you?

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
No, no, no, no, no, We'll see, We'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
How let me ask you this be see how bad
would it be? Forget about like making a fight after this,
just for Charlo? How bad would this like this would be?
I mean, I don't even know how to contextualize it.
What would this mean for him?

Speaker 3 (01:17:08):
This would be a it wouldn't just be a flat tire.
It'd be a monstrous setback for him. This would be
a gigantic setback for.

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
I'll be honest, I'm a little be worried about his
mental health. Like he says, he's.

Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Fine now, but we've seen him like he's been off
kilter in a few of these press moments, you know,
like a telegraion.

Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
But the Charlo's are always like that, are they not?
Like they're always like, you know, mad at the world.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
And I am happy to say. Uh, I asked about Jermel,
you know, because their relationship as twin brothers has been
incredibly volatile at different points. And Jamal actually credits Jermel
with him being able to get back in the ring
right now because he said his brother was there every
step of the way. God is back and it's good
to see them, you know, for each other now as

(01:17:50):
they both need big comebacks coming up here as Dremel's
threatening coming back to a big fight himself. Look in
that main event, we're gonna get Caleb Plan a big
favorite over Armando, Rayce and d but Armando rays and
dies upset and knockout. Jared heard a few years ago
and he gave Elijah Garcia a very tough fight into
a late stoppage. This is gonna be an interesting fight.
Plant talked a lot of junk at the presser. He

(01:18:12):
says he's coming out like crazy. Would you be fired
up for a Plant Charlo fight.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
Later in the year, Man, I you know again, I
can't get fired up about Charlo until so I see
what the hell's going on. Also, you know, I mean,
he's got real problems, but he's also got real problems
to work on. As like a person. But okay, if
you're just asking as a boxing fight, if he can
look good, not just like get a win. I'm not
talking about some bullshit ass win BC. I'm talking about

(01:18:36):
like going there and make people like wow, dude, Jamal
Charlo is back then, yes, I would have a lot
of interest. But if you know, if it ends up
being where he gets one by and it's whatever, and
then Plant gets a win and it's whatever, well, I mean,
you know, I'll take a fight, I suppose, but it
doesn't do much for me in that regard.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Charlo's one fight in the last four years was a
decision win over Jose Benefittez Junior, who moved up and
wait for that.

Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
A ten rounder.

Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
Yeah, pretty strong performance, but it unfortunately didn't lead to
the momentum. And Plant said, look, I gotta take this
fight against Race and D's because this is the path
I have at the moment to get to a big fight,
and for him, that big fight is either Charlo. He
also called out Mangia, who will get into in a second,
as well as wanting a rematch with Canelo, because don't forget,
Plant will be defending the interim super middleweight title here.

(01:19:23):
Canelo is still the undisputed champion after the win over
Williams School, so Caleb Plant not that far out of
that if you can get some big wins. So the
odds by the way for Charlo according to DraftKings minus
fourteen hundred the favorite to the plus seven to fifty
Lamana Luke. There's also a Ring Magazine report that they're
going to announce the full July nineteenth pay per view

(01:19:43):
card during the broadcast on Saturday. That could include Pacquiel
bar Barrios of course in the main event, Fondora Zoo
Part two in the coal main event for the one
to fifty four title, then Brandon Figueroa in an exciting
comeback fight, and how about the rematch of Pitbull cruising
on Healthy Errol from earlier this year. I'm in if
this is where they're going, Luke. And by the way,

(01:20:05):
call me, I'm ready. Let's call it.

Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
Yeah. I mean, I'll be honest. Pakiya coming back does
nothing for me, but I suspect for boxing fans it does.
And you know, he is a name, you know who
knows he thinks he can win, Luke. I doubt he's
training with just chicken, chicken and broccoli. You know, you
never know, so we'll see, we'll see. I will say

(01:20:27):
that the rest of that card looks great. Yeah, and
again the Fondora Zoo too. That's a huge fight for
Tim Zoo. I mean, I can't get that one wrong
at all. Fight, So I love that.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
Do you think that he's putting clem butter all over
his broccoli? And uh?

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
And I make I make no claims about things I
don't have evidence for. I'm just saying, would it be
surprised if you know Vada showed up at his door
and was like, well, you.

Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
Know, by the way, we're gonna get to the Mongia
news in a second. But did you see that rant
from Jamal Charlow after the press conference yesterday where he
basically said every fighters on the stuff and even when
as far as saying that there's regular fixed fights in
boxing and that fighters sort of agreed to Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Yeah. Is there any similarity between the Charlo's in boxing
and the diaz Is in mma?

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
To some degree?

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
That is an interesting comparison. Not as famous, not as infamous.

Speaker 11 (01:21:22):
But.

Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
Kind of really good fighters can win any moment, also
kind of off kilter sometimes delightfully sometimes dangerously.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
Yeah, yeah, there's meaningful differences obviously.

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
Do you remember when we sat down with Jamal Charlow
in twenty twenty three at one of those showtime wig ins.
I think it was for Plant versus Benavidez and he
was It was like early in the morning and he
was hammered. He was he was getting loose in termed
four Lucas.

Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
I had people write me about that, being like, was
he okay? And I'm like, I think he was fine
in the sense that he was just I think he
was just enjoying Vegas unfortunately, could.

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
Be, could be Luke. We also have more breaking news
from Long Island in.

Speaker 1 (01:22:00):
This card has fallen the fuck apart man.

Speaker 3 (01:22:04):
Allen Nasamento missed wait for his flyweightout. He came in
two and or technically one and a half pounds over
that one plus plus one limit. There interesting stuff, Luke
staying in boxing right here. Tayo Fema Lopez had another
weird week on the internet. No racist comments, I think this.

Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
Time, no hard rs, but give it time.

Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
He did have a very public squabble, it seems, with
Turkey Alaschk. According to Dan Rayfield, a fight freaks two
nights reporting here and he has three sources on the record. Originally,
Tao Fima Lopez was offered a large amount of money
for a fight against Jeron boots Ennis for the unified
Walterway title. Boots Ennis turned down the fight. Then Tayo

(01:22:47):
Fema went to Twitter kind of ran his mouth a
little bit, and then was offered, according to rafael A
Devin Hainey fight as a replacement. But the fight offer
in terms of a purse was smaller than the guarantee
for boots Ennis. That led to or to Tao Femo
calling Turkey Alashik a dictator on Twitter with the diick

(01:23:08):
in dictator all capitalized and it led to some cryptic
tweets from Turkey kind of being, you know, pointing out
how crazy Tao is. Then Tao said he got fired.
I don't really know what to make of this. If
Tao Femo sabotaged another opportunity, or if he just doesn't
want to fight Hani in comparison to the increased history

(01:23:28):
he can make by moving up and fighting the best
guy in boots. What do you make of all of this?
From Tao's antics to Boots not wanting to fight. Can
we still make Lopez Hani? Is it still the fight
to make her to people don't even care about that?

Speaker 1 (01:23:42):
They would care about either of them. No, they would
care about Lopez Hanni, and they would care about Lopez Boots.
I guess my thing is this the two questions for UBC,
because I just don't understand this one. My understanding was
they wanted to make the Hani and Lopez fight at
forty five not forty seven. Why the weird catchweight? And
then secondly, why would Boots turn this down? I don't

(01:24:06):
like because he's gonna do what to take on the
Brian Norman? Finally, like, what is the logic there?

Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
Why is it? Why would you imagine that Boots would
look at that situation and be like, that's not in
my interest right now?

Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Well, there are some that are guessing it's why am
I going to reward this guy who's using racism against
African Americans to try to bait them into fights. It's
one thing. Another thing is Boots is finally starting to
get the people in his own division to fight him
for titles. Right he had the unification with Staniosis, and
he looked absolutely brilliant. I don't believe a Brian Norman
Boots fight is easy to make and is necessarily up next.

(01:24:42):
But if that was the direction he was trying to go,
whether it be get the other champion in Norman or
the other other champion meaning Mario Barriosen whoever wins between
him and Pacchio on July nineteenth, Maybe he's holding out
to try to get bigger opportunities to further unify the titles,
or maybe he just hates Tao. I don't know. We
don't really have an explanation at this point, but I

(01:25:03):
wonder if the Taale thing is and I'm just speaking out,
you know, personally here, what does he have to gain
from fighting Haney, especially at a catchwaight. Tao has a
title at one forty, but he thrives on being that
guy who goes into a new division and calls out
the you know, the toughest guy in jail on the
first night. He did that against Lomachenko. He did that
against Josh Taylor at one forty. Now he wants to

(01:25:25):
do that against Boots at one forty seven, but that
fight's not gonna happen. So we got offered less to
fight Hani at a Catchwaight August sixteenth in Riodd So, Luke,
you know, here's the deal. We've been in boxing with
Turkey for a while now. When it comes to Fury
versus Ousik better be versus bevall. You know, all these

(01:25:46):
heavyweights that that all em and eight from Europe or
what have you. You put those fights in read if
that's the only way that can be made. Fine, But
if you're going to do another bounce a bullshit here
involving big American stars and you're gonna put them in
read in front of three thousand people, Like, what are
we doing here? If that's part of the motivation for Tao,
who aggressively wants to be a star, wants to be

(01:26:09):
a guy who's constantly stirring things up all over social media,
we're not building our stars if they're fighting on Dezone
and Riad at seven in the morning in front of
three thousand people. So maybe this is the start of
pushing back against that. Do you do you find any
part of that to be potentially interesting?

Speaker 1 (01:26:28):
I don't do these guys really care about fighting in
Saudi Arabia If the money's right, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:26:34):
They had to buy that. Maybe one or two pay days.
But don't you get to a point where you're like,
I'm trying to be a star.

Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
I'm trying to start yeah, yeah, yeah, So like as
a hiatus, yeah, I'll take a big paycheck there, maybe
another big paycheck here, But when I really want to
be something bigger than, larger than life, I can't do
fighting in Saudi Arabia. And it's a little bit of
a pushback on that. Boy, I would hope so, I mean,
the American market needs it. I don't even know who
the next big star is in boxing that like American fans,

(01:27:01):
even American sports fans, even dude, I've never seen boxing
more divorced from the larger sports world than I do now. Yes,
I can't. In all my time covering boxing, which you know,
I'm not as in weeds as you have been, BC,
but I've been doing it for a little while. Anyway,
I've never seen it as far away from the rest
of the sports world, quite literally and figuratively, as it

(01:27:26):
is today. And I can't imagine that's good for it
long terms or not. In this market. I would hope
that the fighters are pushing back, recognizing that it's great
to get a couple of paydays, but this comes at
a pretty heavy cost.

Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Well, I'm just wondering because you know, if you're trying
to get in Taeo Fimo's head, and it's probably you know,
a mess in there. We do know that he like
wants attention, and if you recalling the build of that
Time Square card, he was like aggressively trying to fight
for attention at these press conferences because everything was about
Ryan Garcia and Haini because they were building to that.
He was like in also ran on the card. He
was constantly trying to stir things up and yelling at

(01:27:59):
the other guy's going, you're not promoting hard enough. Then
he goes into that fight. It's a debacle in terms
of the viewership and all that. He's the only one
that fights pretty well, and all everybody's talking about is
Hane Garcia and Roley and how they screwed up a
Time squarecard. Like he's not even getting the attention the
exposure for a big win in there. I wonder if

(01:28:19):
he's looking around going like what am I going to
gain from Haney who just proved that he's willing to
fight as boring as possible to get a win.

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Yeah, I don't know about that theory boring those titles at.

Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
Stake either against Haney in this catchway fight, you know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:28:33):
So I don't see so you're not getting the same
kinds of thing. I mean, I really believe it could
be just as simple as atmosphere, and atmosphere matters, and
you know, having a fight in Philly if it's against
Boots or having a fight And where's where's hany from.

Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
Oakland HAINI Yeah, yeah, lives in the so somewhere.

Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
Around there for to get a live atmosphere and then
to therefore get the best out of it. I mean,
I'm less convinced by the catchway being a problem, but
it's interesting to see. I mean, Tao's the thing is,
it's hard to really know, right because Tao is such
a loose cannon that his pushback feels like half strategic

(01:29:10):
and then half erratic, and it's hard to know what's
what about.

Speaker 3 (01:29:14):
It, and and and he's also kind of pulled hip
on top rank in the past and is never afraid
to put himself in the bad light with that. Yeah,
so we don't know if this is a real beef
between him and Turkey and this is the first chance
we get of someone not not someone on the other
side like Canelo and Tank were when they were arguing
with Turkey, someone on the inside who's fighting with him. Here, though,
is some sound from Tao, and we can decide what

(01:29:36):
we believe on this. We don't panotize.

Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
We just so love I love you, Turkey.

Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
I want to.

Speaker 11 (01:30:00):
Get that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:00):
I hold your hand like Crawford. Now he did say
all diddy there, Luke. So I mean, I don't know
if things are good in Turkey Land with him, but uh, combat.

Speaker 1 (01:30:11):
Sports hold your hand like Turkey did. That's a like
like Crawford did.

Speaker 3 (01:30:15):
That is uh combat sports has fed up at the moment.

Speaker 1 (01:30:19):
Oh dude. Combat sports is a disaster right now.

Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
It's an absolute disaster. And I know who to blind.
There's a few people I know, all of them. Okay,
that's just my point on this.

Speaker 1 (01:30:26):
Yeah, LTBC MK, that's it. That's who's the fault.

Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
Let's continue down the boxing road. Here of weird news,
himI Mungia, who is fresh off a decision went over
Bruno Serrace in the rematch after being knocked out in
a huge upset, has tested positive through VADA for exogynous testosterone.
Excuse me, but Luke, here's the key. That was his

(01:30:50):
first fight under Canelo Alvarez trainer and manager Eddie Renoso,
making it the sixth Eddie Renoso fighter in like the
last five or six years to pop Dirty. Let's show
the uh the Juice poster if we can skip that,
go to the Juice the meme here of the fantastic
early nineties hip hop movie Juice. We have Canelo, Oscar Valdez,

(01:31:13):
Andy Ruiz, Ryan Garcia. There was also Julio Martinez.

Speaker 1 (01:31:17):
I believe in this, Luis Neeri.

Speaker 3 (01:31:20):
Uh yeah, there's been a few here, Luke. So we'll
get into the comments from Serrace on a second. But
first and foremost, everyone's point fingers at Eddie. I mean,
even memo Heredia known uh ped supplier his point fingers.
And now this is giving everybody the room, and we've
seen people come out and continue to attack Snack and

(01:31:41):
Victor CONTI we got a drug problem. We already knew that,
but Eddie's got a real drug problem in that camp.
It seems it.

Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
Appears, I mean again, Oh Eddie Macy Barber missed Waite.
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
She gave in at one twenty six point five, so
I found.

Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
Over she's gonna need the box, so she could probably
make it. But Jesus Christ, all right, uh, BC, I
mean you gonna listen. I'm not gonna rehash my worldview
on drugs and sports for the millionth time. But what
I will say is this, if you've had six people
while they've worked with you pop for some kind of

(01:32:22):
performance a dancing drug, you are not entitled to the
benefit of the doubt like you have surrendered it at
that point. I mean, you can decide ultimately what it
all means or doesn't in the end. People can make
their opinions. But I'm just trying to be clear. That's
the kind of thing that is so outrageous and so
over the top. You are not allowed to push back

(01:32:44):
and say the testing was bad, We're targeted. It's unfair.
I want to be clear about something, BC. You know,
in these cases Ryan Garcia, Canelo Alvarez, Himimongia and other ones,
these are typically, not always, not always, these are either
a main event guys or B A sides In main

(01:33:06):
event guys, I mean, I mean, I guess Garcia was
the B side relative to Devin Haney. But you understand
my point. We're not talking about people who are like
disadvantaged in the fight game, who are under the thumb
of some kind of other force that they're trying to
act around. These are people with the wind at their back,

(01:33:26):
irrespective of what kind of drugs you think they are
or aren't using. If you have this much of a problem,
you you have earned your reputation many times over, and
there's nothing else you can say about it. It is
yours to now hold well.

Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
The ring magazine put out the statement that Haimi Mangia
put out in a video in Spanish, but it's translated here.
First there's Bruno Sirees, the opponent, who says, I'm shocked
by the news that Mongi a tested positive. There's no
place in boxing for cheating. The sport is dangerous enough already.
I went to Mexico and knocked out Mangia fair square
in December, and I was gracious enough to give him
a rematch in May. He knew he could not beat

(01:34:05):
me on a level playing field. I trust that this
result will be overturned immediately. Also, we have a ring
magazine put out We're not gonna show on the screen,
but I can read it to you. Mongia's statement there said,
throughout my boxing career, I've undergone numerous anti doping tests
and have never tested positive. I was tested twice during
camp and both results came back negative, which is why

(01:34:26):
receiving this notification of an adverse finding has be in
complete surprise. Several experts have explained that there are multiple
ways contamination can occur, and I am fully willing to
undergo any retroactive, current or future testing to demonstrate that
I have always been a clean athlete. I will not
make any further comments on this matter until the process
is concluded with the results of the B sample. Luke

(01:34:50):
the odds will tell you that his B sample is
probably gonna be the same result here. I know everybody
can claim tainted me or whatever, but I'm happy that
more people are finally coming out, including Chris l on
the UH Inside Boxing Live podcast with Dan Kenobio and
was basically like, look, heads up, people, all your favorite
fighters are probably juicing.

Speaker 1 (01:35:07):
Yeah, I mean, who's been saying this, Becee, as long
as you've known them, who's been.

Speaker 3 (01:35:11):
Saying all the heroes of the last twenty years have like,
let's wake up to that. But I don't know what
do you make of Jamal Charlow making that rant, saying
specifically about snack that all their supplements that they give
you have just shy of like you know how like
Delta eight's are a trick to be able to sell
THHC over the counter at.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
A gas station, to remove a molecule to make it.

Speaker 3 (01:35:32):
Yeah, he's saying the same thing is happening with for example,
Victor Conte's snack and by the way, Tank Davis, Devin Hanney,
they've all been on record for years, you know, shouting
negatively out at snack. But is this is this gonna
do make any We're not gonna make any change because
people want to make fights at the end of the day,
and drug tests stop the fights from happening. Don't tell you.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
Boxing has bigger issues than whether mungia used drugs. Boxing
has issues like has anyone does anyone still give a
fuck about this sport? Like it's not again is ESPN
reporting on this on front page news? I mean, when
was the last time boxing was front page news on
ESPN at all? Like it's that inside the bubble thing.
It's a question about like how the inside the community feels.

(01:36:13):
But like you know, I keep trying to explain to people,
drugs are here. It's something you can't do anything about it.
But you just have to recognize that fact. They're not
going to go away. You can't make them go away.
You have to reconcile what it means that drugs are here.

Speaker 3 (01:36:27):
Drugs win the drug or or every Time news at
eleven and breaking news from the APEX. Luke Macy Barber,
they got her in the box. She officially missed weight.
Inside the box will not weigh in again. We're probably
going to see her lose a percentage of her purse
toward Aaron Blanchfield. But Luke, we just gassed up Barber

(01:36:47):
as a plus underdog with the idea that a big
win could lead her to a title shot. How bad
of a look is this to?

Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:36:55):
I mean to have that just that little extra weight
on you that?

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
Yeah. So I mean, even if she goes in there
and blow the doors off Blanchfield, she missed weight, Natalia
Silla is going to be number one contender. So there
you go. Now, Now, if Blanchfield does the opposite, a
little more interesting, could be a little more interesting. But
Barbara now officially has put herself behind the eight ball. Yeah.
I mean, remember, if you're auditioning for a title shot,
you're not even gonna get the one pound allowance, much

(01:37:19):
less one and a half. You got to make one
twenty five on the nugget, so.

Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
Problem probably Yeah, on the ball, on the balls, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:28):
The the on the on the bong island, Dad, nutsack,
you gotta.

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
Get a ball right there, yeah, long island. Luke, what
is your thoughts here on Macy Barber. This's a bad
look on women's. Man, we were just this fight was
supposed to save women's Yeah, she.

Speaker 5 (01:37:41):
Didn't look great on the scale either. By the way,
you mentioned like she's got to make championship waight going forward?
Erin nailed it on the head one twenty five, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
See what I mean. Also, the Kitlyn Vieira Macy chefs
On fight, now, granted they could just move it up awight,
they moved it to forty five, but it looked like
they were headed for for not making weight either.

Speaker 5 (01:38:00):
I'm thinking it was on Ketland's end only because she
wig in at one forty six and Macy wade in
at one.

Speaker 1 (01:38:05):
Fine, fair enough. I'm just saying like they still had
to accommodate them. Yeah, by doing this, whereas they you're like, oh,
why couldn't they move the fight between Blanchefield and Barbara
up to thirty five? Well, because they're auditioning for a
fucking title shot. You gotta make the weight.

Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
Yeah, you gotta make the wait people, Okay, you gotta
pass the drug test and make the weave.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
Listen, get the diarrhea that I have. You're gonna make weight.

Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
I mean, you reveal, Luke, I don't know if you're
against me, you know, bringing this news to the forefront.

Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
Yeah, yeah, don't don't don't don't don't. Yeah, Hey, some
things I tell you in confidence.

Speaker 11 (01:38:42):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:38:42):
Even Luke Thomas has limits of personal sharing. Wow. Okay,
all right, let me let me spoiler alert. It was
gross people, Thank you very much, But we love Luke
and his insides. Luke, those are our topics here. We're
gonna transition to our fun. Well they could be fun,
they could be damning if we screwed up. These are
our fans, and you can enter the sweepstakes of showing
up in our fans segments by emailing the show at

(01:39:05):
Morning Combat at gmail dot com. Tell Mikey we said, Hi,
do not show him pictures of your tripod. Thank you
very much. We will start off with a segment that
puts us on trial. Hey, we speak into a microphone
a lot. Sometimes we say bullshit. Sometimes we're just dead wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
Then wrong?

Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
Whose voice is that? For the record, I always ask
that who is that?

Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
I don't know. I'm thinking it's Ai. I really don't know.
All right, all right, oh it is a I shouldn't
have any AI intros unless you look.

Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
What do you think about elon musk on ketamine?

Speaker 7 (01:39:40):
All right?

Speaker 1 (01:39:43):
Was the beginning of his problems? I mean that motherfucker
was doped?

Speaker 3 (01:39:47):
All right? Both Dave and Caine wrote in I'm not
sure who's this one was? Maybe Dave? He says, BC,
you are dead wrong. During the over under segment last Friday,
when talking about PFL moving the Africa event, you said
it was the same day as Usik Dubois one. How
many gummies were in your tummy? This would be Usik

(01:40:07):
versus Dubois two. Love the show, but get this shit right,
all right? If I said one, I will take the
l and let me think back. Yeah, there was a
there was a decent amount of gummies in might tummy
during that episode, just so you know, all right, there
we go. Look I have taken the l Thank you
all right, Sorry, okay, let's hear from Casey, he says,
bonjour donks. On the May nineteenth episode, at about the

(01:40:28):
two hour eleven minute mark, BC asks LT what his
thoughts are on the Great Tim Bradley's remarks that Teo
Femo was quote too athletic for boots sentence. LT rightfully
says that he doesn't quote by that, but you are
both dead wrong. If BC actually listened to the Tim
Bradley instead of letting his mind wander to thoughts of

(01:40:50):
straweights and gas station hot dogs, he would have heard
Bradley say the quote too most athletic, not too too athletic. Honestly,
I don't blame BC too much, as I imagine he's
left many of brain cells in the factory town he
came from. True, but shame on you, Luke Mma, journalism's
greatest spelling bee Champ should do a better job of

(01:41:13):
keeping your boy in line. All jokes aside, Love you guys,
keep up the great work. Also, bring back high Court,
says Casey. So Luke I guess I have to take
the l because I wasn't listening close enough to Tim Bradley.
So I'm for to today. But you want to address
this gentleman's offer of us bringing back high Court.

Speaker 1 (01:41:32):
I'd love to bring back high Court. I never wanted
to go away. We just didn't and we never flushed
out the concept.

Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Okay, all right, we got to get a studio that
can play that game too, Right, we could just.

Speaker 1 (01:41:42):
Do High Court on you know what, like one of
these days when there's like nothing going on, and instead
of doing a Friday show, we can just do a
morning combat, you know, Friday High Court.

Speaker 3 (01:41:50):
With the dishonorable Chuck Mindenhole. Or should we sub Ken
our sound guy in there, who's like so chemically advanced Luke.

Speaker 1 (01:41:59):
I mean, who's who he more chemically advanced? Elon Musk
or Ken in the back? I honestly, So it's it's
a competition.

Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
I love when we come in and Ken's Ken's wearing
the Winter Parker with like the fur around the head piece. Yeah,
that guy's the best. All right, Uh, let's go to
a final day.

Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
The deer come into studio with a bigger drink he
could spill all over the keyboard.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
I wonder dear's the best uh luke. Our final one
comes from Dazz.

Speaker 1 (01:42:22):
Right, Dazz back up on that ass and give these
motherfuckers a blast from the past.

Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
Aloha donk, says Daz on Friday's episode after losing MK Jeopardy,
BC announces he will have to quote pay the Piper Wednesday,
July fourth for the pregame preview episode with Aaron Bronsteader
by wearing a shirt of LT's choosing. Hey BC, If
MK fans tune in on July fourth, they will have

(01:42:47):
missed this episode by a month, as the episode is
on Wednesday, June four, not July fourth, which is a
Friday this year. Always grateful for the entertaining content. Mahallow.
It's daz Luke. That's over three And by the way,
all three of those segments, those those losses were pulled
at the end of the show when the delton h

(01:43:08):
really kick in, So you know it is what it is, right.

Speaker 1 (01:43:11):
I'll also say this, you know, listen the listeners, the viewers,
they're like the refs. Sometimes they call tiki tak fouls,
you know what I'm saying. Sometimes sometimes they let sometimes
they let the boys play. Sometimes they call the fowls
a little aggressively. You know, it's one of those ones
that they call them a little aggressively, Luke.

Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
Speaking of June fourth pregame preview, will you have a
shirt for me to wear?

Speaker 1 (01:43:32):
I will?

Speaker 7 (01:43:33):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
I've talked to Long Island Luke about it, so he
knows about it as well.

Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
Are you having one created or are.

Speaker 1 (01:43:39):
You I'm having one created? Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:43:43):
Will it involve abortion? Rock?

Speaker 1 (01:43:46):
Will it involve abortion Rock?

Speaker 7 (01:43:49):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
Okay, hopefully it'll involve strow.

Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
Maybe abortion, but maybe not abortion.

Speaker 3 (01:43:54):
No no, no no no no no no no no
no no no all right those are dead wrongs and
I really took it on the on the A there
we have a final fan segment that is you sending
in your pictures of your significant others in tight T
shirts or maybe your artwork. This one's called fan submissions.

Speaker 1 (01:44:13):
You've got mail feures.

Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
Shout out to Gaffney Jim Pierre for voicing that Luke
real quick on the new DMS from Donk's intro that
doesn't have the the you know, the animal getting milked.
The fans aggressively want that back. Your thoughts. No, see

(01:44:37):
that your thoughts too. Okay, what are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (01:44:40):
I said from the start we shouldn't have got rid
of it. I think we need it back.

Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
All right, We'll see what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:44:47):
If they really want to bring it back, we can
bring it back. I just hate it.

Speaker 3 (01:44:50):
It is gross. It is really gross. But it's probably
like the fifteenth most grossest thing that happens on this
show week to week.

Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
I mean, you know, it's it's a you know, I mean, yeah,
I mean it's it's if the fans really want it,
we can bring it back. I'll put it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:02):
Okay, all right, but if the fans really want me
to talk more directly about your bottles, we have to
draw the line. We have to.

Speaker 1 (01:45:08):
Yeah, I've had enough of that. I'm gonna have to
shoot after this show, by.

Speaker 3 (01:45:11):
The that would be a okay. Let's go to our
first fansom from Jeff. He says, my first leave of
tattoos all water themed animals. The octopus choking. The shark
represents ilia choking Islam. Luke Thomas rate that tat, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:45:29):
That's the The scales on the bicep look pretty good.
The octopus, it's hard to tell. Them this far out.
But because this is a healed tattoo, but it looks
pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:45:40):
Now do you think that guy knows where the gym
is too?

Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
May have seen his way inside the bicep for you know,
curl machine A couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:45:48):
Good deltoid definition there.

Speaker 1 (01:45:50):
Okay, I mean you want to bang this guy?

Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
Well maybe his significant other, Luke. I haven't scouted it
close enough yet. All right, there we go.

Speaker 1 (01:45:57):
We're gonna have Bec's gonna make a secondary show where
he just bangs the wives of girlfriends or listeners.

Speaker 3 (01:46:05):
Oh wow, uh, cuck versus buck, come in your way.
This one's from Nathan, he says, what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:46:11):
Hoes.

Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Not sure if you'll remember, but I wrote in a
while back to tell you that I had just moved
to d C from the West Coast to start law
school at GWU.

Speaker 1 (01:46:21):
Oh shit, I'm.

Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
Writing in again, nearly three years later to let you
know that I've managed to overcome my intellectual handicap of
being an MMA fan and have completed my law degree
repping MK Merch all the while. Later this year I'll
be moving to NYC to begin my legal career. So
hit me up when BC inevitably gets caught up for

(01:46:44):
public intoxication after one too many whippets in the Penn
Station bathroom. I'm incredibly grateful for what you both do.
You Donks are the best podcasters and analysts in the game,
and even greater guys never met him technical difficulties In all,
nobody does it like y'all, Luke. This is Nathan and
he could very well turn into our legal council if
MK falls into some issues moving.

Speaker 1 (01:47:05):
Yeah, we might need that. That's cool, man. I'm not
over on this part of town very often, so I
don't get by the law school all that all that regularly.
But uh, this is definitely interesting to see and I
can congratulations on making it through law school and uh,
just in time for the country to turn into a dictatorship.

Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
Really well done, Nathan. Reach out to us when you
get into there to NYC brother, good luck to you.
Appreciate you wrapping us in that regard. And also we
may have to call you here. We'll see what happens.
We have a one from Joe. He says, BC and
Reggie Jackson could have some fun behind Arby's with these.

Speaker 10 (01:47:43):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
Wow, do you think I think Reggie has the personality
where he would definitely get high.

Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
Get high. Reggie's got the personality that he would wait
in the back of a bigley wiggly parking for his
dealer to show up. Circing nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:48:02):
You should see that dude on katnapp. He is wild.

Speaker 1 (01:48:05):
Yeah, dude, that's hilarious, unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (01:48:07):
Great stuff there, Joe. Here comes Scott with a photo.
He says, hastag hashtag them K Goat is back, the
MK go the MK Goat is back. Yes, oh my god, John,
please tell me more about your thirties, cause yeah, this
is great. Look did you see the aspinall and Craig

(01:48:30):
Jones video making fun of this?

Speaker 1 (01:48:32):
I did? I did? And then he says it's a
Jones thing, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:48:36):
Can you go back to that picture? I want to
see it one more time please.

Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
That is so good. It's a little it's a little disturbing,
if I can be honest with you, But it is funny.
It's quite funny.

Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
Finally we have a man who has really used this
platform to show us his art on a regular basis.
He also supports us on our YouTube channels. It's the
great Alan W. Who's got a few photos for us.
The first one is called aliens.

Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
Okay, is this because no?

Speaker 10 (01:49:04):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:49:05):
Is this because I was talking about the movie?

Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:49:07):
It is, Yes, it is.

Speaker 3 (01:49:08):
That is all right?

Speaker 1 (01:49:09):
This is interesting. Donculus is a funny name. I'm with it.
I'm with it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
That's a creepy looking spider crab thing on our face, Luke.

Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
Have you not seen alien?

Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
Not a while, not a long time.

Speaker 1 (01:49:19):
Yeah, So that's that's that's how the alien produces other aliens?

Speaker 3 (01:49:23):
Disgusting, all right. He has another one called vaping is
for closers. Oh oh, can we get that on a shirt?
Can we hook up this design?

Speaker 4 (01:49:32):
Please?

Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
Where's Long Island? Luke? You know something about it?

Speaker 1 (01:49:35):
I'm right here. Maybe maybe we could do something about that.
That is sick.

Speaker 3 (01:49:39):
I swear if you put that shirt out tomorrow, it
sells out.

Speaker 1 (01:49:41):
I swear that is what is sick. Oh hell yeah,
I love that.

Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
Also from Allan w. This is front front lawn Gym.

Speaker 1 (01:49:50):
Front yard ly shit balls Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:49:55):
Established nineteen seventy nine in India. Luke Luke's front Yard Gymnasium.

Speaker 4 (01:50:00):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
That's actually not too dissimilar from how it looks actually.

Speaker 3 (01:50:05):
With the DC flag in the background and you are.

Speaker 1 (01:50:08):
I mean, that's a little bit more artistic license being
taken there.

Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
But uh, you ain't lifting that much weight?

Speaker 6 (01:50:14):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:50:15):
Sure I have if it's five hundred pounds. Of course.

Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
Are you using Jose Aldo technique or more like Phil
Simms pull up technique?

Speaker 1 (01:50:22):
Well, both of those are shit technique or.

Speaker 3 (01:50:25):
Shop bench technique, Luke. Like what shob on the bench?

Speaker 1 (01:50:30):
Yeah? Like half reps, like three quarter reps.

Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
With your ass and stomach in the air.

Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
Your butt can come off the air upon certain parts
of it, just not just not all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:50:43):
Well, Luke, you're saying Texas. This ain't no hodown. But
the shops are we doing? I'm just telling you they moved.

Speaker 4 (01:50:48):
They moved to Texas.

Speaker 3 (01:50:49):
Luke, congratulations, all right, Oh my god, shout out to BASTI.
All right, also from Alan w we have one more.

Speaker 4 (01:50:56):
It says lt.

Speaker 3 (01:50:57):
Keeping BC on the right track.

Speaker 1 (01:51:00):
My first hot dog. Excuse me, my hot dog has
a first name. It's O sc bop. You have a
fatty liver bitch. I don't get what. I don't get
what you were trying to spell though.

Speaker 3 (01:51:12):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, O s c a ar. You know
that song, Luke from the from the.

Speaker 1 (01:51:16):
Ad is don't. I definitely don't, dude.

Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
That's like right on the art I'm making us look
like ourselves. I mean, look at me with the just
for men die job right there.

Speaker 1 (01:51:26):
And also his is pretty accurate of me too, where
I've got the only hair that's got color left on
my faces, my eyebrows and mustache.

Speaker 3 (01:51:33):
Yes, a lot of people still wondering if the drapes
matched the carpet. Luke right, you know it's really gross,
but uh that was this way?

Speaker 1 (01:51:42):
I have white hairs all over my body? Does that
answer your question?

Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
Hopefully not? Also, Ellen w thank you for your submissions.
That was great. Thank you folks for fanning them in.
You can also reach us at Morning Combat at gmail Dove.

Speaker 1 (01:51:55):
Those were great.

Speaker 3 (01:51:56):
Those are really well done fansob make fan subs great again.
You just did. Thank you very much. We appreciate that
to all of you. We appreciate all of you for
tuning in today. Look, we just have this ability to
stretch absolute bullshit into two hours of fine content if
you don't mind.

Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
It takes it takes years of broadcasting to figure out
how to take absolute nothing and turn it into more
of nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
It's a lot like Billy Hoe from White Man Can
Jump Right. It's hard goddamn work making something this pity.

Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
Looks so yeah, right, So what are you doing this weekend?

Speaker 3 (01:52:30):
I will be calling fights Saturday night, not a prime
video from the uh yeah, from the Michelo Vultra Arena.

Speaker 1 (01:52:39):
So that's what. That's Mandalay Bay.

Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
That is Mandalay Bay. And also also I believe Carmel
Moton is also on this card. I don't know if
it's televised, but Floyd Mayweather's big prospect is also.

Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
Now do they got you doing triple duty like normal?

Speaker 3 (01:52:54):
I won't be scoring the fights this time, but I
will be doing color commentary and in ring interviews, so
