Friday Night's xFC cards, I enjoyed those highlights. Maybe we'll
catch a few on have you seen this shit? How
did it feel for you?
Speaker 4 (01:35):
I was, as I told everybody on the lead up
to it, I was nervous as balls for that gig because,
you know what, we had done a fair amount of
boxing commentary on the Three Limbs for showtime, which was great.
I'd be happy to do that again. But I actually
was trying to think about this. But prior to Friday,
I've obviously called a lot of MMA, but I could
not remember the last time that I actually did.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Was it like riding a bike? In the end, did
you feel like you had it again?
Speaker 4 (01:59):
They let us So here's one thing that I didn't share.
They let us call an amateur fight up front.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Oh nice.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
So I got to get some of the you know,
I got to get the gears moving. And then the
first fight that I called for the broadcast that aired
wasn't a knockout of the Year contender. And I'm gonna
say this again, I'm sure we'll have it. Have you
seen this shit? It was the guy's pro debut. I
couldn't believe what I was looking at. So it actually
(02:26):
ended up being a great night. BC was insanely supportive.
I mean, there's lot of people that actually really supportive,
So I have to be very thankful about that. Thanks
to xFC, thanks to Biggie, thanks to Christophendis, everybody there
at the STAF, johny Laquasto.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh, that's I call him Habibie.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Oh I think he's a Saudi wife, right Yeah, and
then obviously just Gagalard and everybody else on that whole staff.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
It was man, that was a.
Speaker 4 (02:47):

Speaker 4 (03:14):
We need to do the shoe off we do. We
have to do the shoe off.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
We do.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
So BC and I today are wearing the ugliest motherfucking
shoes on the plane.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
So my kids. We've we've talked about these free shoes
I received from from CBS Sports as ugly dad wanna
be Jordan bowling shoes.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Put them up, Put them up here, put them up
on this side. All right, here we go. We'll get
a nice let's we need the fans to go, I
think on YouTube and then vote who's got the worst shoes?
Get them a little more side aways? Look at that,
Look at those pos's.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Oh these are great. I mean on the back they
say CBS Sports right there. Look these ones you guys
have seen.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
But just for comparison's sake, I don't I don't have
a good lighting on this one. I mean, could we
believe look at this is these are our like bad
fucking positions, like.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Barely move MK is turning into a bad porno apparently.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
But who's got the worst shuit?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
My CBS Sports shoes? There?
Speaker 4 (04:12):
I have to say. I have to say when you
when they were over here, I was like, oh BC
was rocking the new that what I think they call
those the dunk lows from Nike.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, and then I then check check this, check this out.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Show them the CBS Sports logo to the back there,
Look at that b.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, baby, that's what I'm talking about. All right, They're awesome.
I'm wrapping my team right now.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I'm just gonna go barefoot the rest of the show.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Let's get out, let's do it, let's smell those let's courts.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
We got a great show for you today, of course,
recapping UFC Mexico City, looking at some interesting news involved
in the likes of kyog Horra Gucci. Maybe top ranking PBC.
You gonna work together a lot of interesting stuff in
the combat sports space. Maybe Luke will drop.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
A cheeweeweeschi weewee.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
You go.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Let's say hi to the third member of our team.
He's a producer, director, long enthusiast and yes he is
here by way of an Australian man's Australian men's ball bag. Well,
I can't talk today. It's lot no see that of
the main card minute.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
What's up, guys? How are we all right?
Speaker 1 (05:13):
How are you? Dude? I checked in on the on
the main Card minute over the weekend and a lot
of smoke, a lot of smoke being.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Was it a solemn occasion now that erseg lost?
Speaker 7 (05:23):
No, I didn't have a bet on Earth sec. I
had the over two and a half, so we cash.
The only bet I actually missed on the main card
was Lazy Boy.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Other than that, yeah, he didn't perform that great.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, no, he looked like, why do I hear an echo?
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I don't know, I don't hear one. It could just
be your settings. You have to kind of get those right.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
There we go, chigg.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Ding ding, chiggity ding ding.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Enough nonsense, I think to start the day. Oh yeah
you can. You can like this broadcast. You can subscribe
on YouTube or wherever you are listening at the moment.
We love your support. You can support us on social
social as long along with our individual YouTube chance.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Do we want to talk about this GFL news real quickly?
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, so let's hit it over the top. The GFL
has announced their debut weekend, two cards back to back days,
and some people in the comments Luke Thomas are saying,
even though these are a little bit more bid matchups
of old fighters against one another, some people have more
interest than most UFC cards for this. Do you think
that's a little overblown? What do you think about it?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
I think it's gonna be the same thing we saw
with the Bell Tour guys where it's like, oh, I'm
kind of intrigued by this, and then you actually see
the fighting quality and you're like, yeah, I'm not intrigued
by this.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I mean, I'm not gonna lie. There's a part of
you know, the gas station hot dog in me that
sees Faber Barraw three and I'm like, yep, I'm in
very quickly.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Saturday May twenty second, this is day one, by the way,
a four thirty pm start on this. Faber versus Barraw,
Chad Mendez versus I don't know who my may Ike
Lynn Airez, I.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Don't know who that is.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Anthony Petties taken on Benson Henderson, Holly Holm versus Julia Bud,
Marlon Morice taking on Ray Borg, and then Alexa Connors
versus Kats and Connell. By the way, as BC kind
of pointed out to me before the show, this is
not one team versus another. That's La versus Salpaulo, New
York versus London, and then Miami versus Dubai. That's so convoluted,
it's so ridiculous, it makes no goddamn sense. Then Sunday,
(07:10):
same thing, La New York, New York, London, Miami, Dubai whatever.
But you got Tony Ferguson, Dylan Danis, You're Ryah Hall,
Douglas Lima. It's actually not bad. That's not bad, Ill
Malea McFarland versus Vivianne Perreira, Alexander Gustison versus Ovin Saint Prue.
That is a disaster. Alan Belcher versus Stuart Stuart Austin,
Page vans And versus Randy Field, and then Luis Gillsman
(07:31):
versus Abu Numaga made off. Your mileage may vary your mileage.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
I have to say for a opening statement, there's some
morbid matchups I want to see there. But I have
to say the only thing worse than Team MMA is
convoluted multiple Team MMA in the same car.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
Yeah, by the way, it's La versus New York in
the main event, and then New York versus London with
gust of Sin Saint Pru and then Belcher Stuart Austin.
So that makes no goddamn sense. But I will say
there there are some there's definitely a lot of name
value to these cards. That man event between Ferguson and Dannis.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Watch it. I'm gonna watch, dude.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I mean, people always like, are you gonna watch?
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Guys?
Speaker 4 (08:12):
The bar for me to watch is quite low. It's
it's quite low. Two crickets could be fucking scrapping in
the middle of traffic crossing the road and I would watch.
But I will say Dannis I thought for sure was
a goner after his last disastrous bout was that the
Logan Paul one the boxing match. Yeah, where he just
looked like absolute buttthole.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
In that one.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
But he has managed to like he's got a ks
I one coming up.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
No, they cancer, well they book.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
He's because ks I was sick. I mean, to Dannis's credit,
he didn't pull out. And then he's got this Ferguson
about man. For a guy who hasn't done anything in MMA,
he has managed to He's massed to have a little
bit of a career here.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
See. Ryan Bader told Submission Radio that he loved to
fight Daniel Cormier in GFL.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Did you see Daniel Cormier teach a seminar over the weekend?
Speaker 1 (08:57):
No, it was wearing the ww referee shirt.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
So let me just say this, danil Cormi, as a
commentator for the National Resident Awsome was ten out of
ten good, ten out of ten good and actually thought
with Laura Senko he was also really good this weekend.
He might be the fattest man alive right now. Wow,
I'm not even hating. I love Dan Cormier.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
He's like us prime COVID.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yeah, no, plus twenty plus twenty, so like prime COVID
with a little bit extra.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
I love Daniel. I'm not hating.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
But he listen, he must be enjoying life because he
looks like he's enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Let him do it. Hey, let's enjoy our show and
we'll get into him right off the top. Here with
topic number one. UFC Mexico City a fight night card.
But I really loved it on paper. I liked it
even better the way it played out. We had finishes,
we had excitement, we had an electric crowd. It was
basically the antithesis of UFC London from a week before.
And in the main event, a very important flyweight tilt
(09:48):
with title implications, as former two time champion Brandon Moreno
took on former title challenger Steve Erseg who was riding
a two fight losing streak coming in. But as we
talked about, there was a lot at stake for the winner,
and that winner in the end would be Brandon Moreno.
Four rounds to one on all three scorecard or at
least two of the three. Was it two of the
three or all three?
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Well, I didn't see the actual.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
Score A three forty ninety six and all three judges
gave ersg round three.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Yeah, none of them gave him a round two, which
thought was happy for.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Four to one for Moreno a unanimous decision overall. He
challenged Hunter Campbell. We'll talk about in the post fight interview.
He wants to make a huge turnaround and comeback, and
even more important for Moreno, it snapped his losing streak
in the octagon in Mexico City, where he was O
two and one coming in the big fan favorite. So, Luke,
did this win give Moreno? Here's the key question? Give
(10:37):
him enough reason to leap Manel cop or Kai car Franz,
who's most recently been rumored for the next title shot
against champion Alexandri Pantosia, or will it be held against
him ultimately that he's got a total of three losses
against the current champion.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
I I saw some of your tweets about the fight,
which I thought was kind of interesting because I believe
correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you had said,
and I'm not sure during what round you had said
this that moreno versus ERSAG was heading towards technical thriller tech.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah, I was trying to troll my catchphrase. But I
really enjoyed this fight.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
I wouldn't say I really enjoyed.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I'm not saying fight of the year. I'm not saying Barnburner,
but I'm saying high skill, technical close. Even though four
to one on the scorecards the rounds were close. What
am I missing here?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I would say that I generally agree with that characterization.
I think the part where I would separate is there
was really not a lot of punctuated moments safe for
that one right hand that landed in the first that
kind of rocked seg. There was a couple other ones
dropped him. He dropped in with that right cross sort
of it stumbled him. I mean, he didn't go fully,
you know, to his ass or whatever. But I would
say it does not make him leap frog. No, no, cop,
(11:47):
And it's not like you couldn't do that. He was
already sitting at number two. He beat a very good
guy in ERSAG. Whatever's ranking was, I then kidding into
this contest seven or eight. And so for that reason,
if we're just talking about the meritocracy of it all,
could you make an argument for him to be right
back in a title fight against Pantoja. I suppose you could,
but I'm not gonna He lost to him in twenty sixteen,
(12:08):
I believe, twenty eighteen, and then twenty twenty four, whatever
it was, twenty five, whatever, whatever, the twenty twenty three maybe.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Okay, one was the ultimate fighter. Yes one was a
non title bout but ultimately legit fine. And the third
one was a title beout but was an absolute war
and a split decision. So I just want to put
that out.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
There fair enough. But that's also zero for three. And
by the way, like it's one thing if you fight
a guy and then six months later, it's the same
even a year later you had five had oh I
think almost five years between fights in certain cases, and
he still couldn't quite get the job done. To me,
he's gonna have to wait a little bit longer. Cop,
as we indicated, is still a fresh face as a
title contender in this division, and I think also would
(12:46):
match up with Pantoja at least we think in some
kind of an interesting way. To me, this is even no.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Cop lost to Pantoja as well in their one meeting.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Fine, but that's just one. I mean also, we'll have
a conversation here in a minute about moreno but Pantoja.
Is we all kind of thought in terms of UFC
flyweights that obviously dj was number one and then Joseph
Benavidez kind of held a role as like the unofficial
number two for some time, and I don't think that's
really fair anymore. He didn't capture the full weight class
title obviously lost to badly to Devison Figoredo granted at
(13:16):
the end of his run, right, but I mean the
last one was like devastating, and you know, now you
have Pantoja doing what he's doing. He is the best,
second best flyweight I think, certainly in UFC history and
maybe of all time.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Is that because Henry's Judo's reign was too short.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Way too short, way too short. Good but just short.
It was grand opening, grand closing is kind of what
it was there. So we're talking about Morino for MEB
see what this one was is now he's got two
wins back to back, Amir al Bosi and now Steve
Ursag getting a win, as you indicated finally in Mexico.
While in the UFC, there was something that was kind
of missing. This was this was to me, not any
(13:53):
kind of win you're going to look at as like
some kind of turning point, some kind of mandate, some
kind of moment where you're like, this is the time
that everything changed. It is not that kind of a win.
It was frankly heading in not really that kind of
a bouts in all likelihood or seg I know, got
flatlined by Kaikara France, but in general has as you
saw on this bout, a pretty good chin and an
(14:15):
overall pretty good defense. He's kind of hard to hurt
when he's when he's fighting up to his highest ability.
But this was to me a guy who is clearly
we know where he has resumed position. He's a top
three guy in this division, and this was to me
solidifying that anything you might have thought that was going
to derail him, perhaps some of the miles and some
(14:36):
of these tough fights, that that was something you'd have
to think about. Somebody who was very technical with the
jab who if you're not up to par would snuff
that out, or you know, some other kind of factor,
the pressure of fighting at home. None of those things
really materialized to me. I was kind of worried about moreno,
and following those two losses to Pantojia and Rouville, about
the bottom falling out on him, And to me, this
(14:59):
win solidified that it has not.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yeah, I mean, didn't he prove that he's still of
the truly of this division? Didn't he prove that? And
on the right day his head movement, he was more
creative with those looping right hands that kept scoring over
the top.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Yes, the looping right hands were good. Again, he didn't
take a lot of damage in this fight, So save Saoud,
I think has been a good partnership for him in
getting you know, getting right after a couple of tough losses.
So to me, this was not about did he climb
necessarily to a new place? No, not really, not exactly.
I mean a little bit, but not exactly. It was
(15:33):
more about if you had concerns that some part of
this process had gone a little bit wrong and he
hadn't addressed it. I think to me that that this
one of this is one of those wins that not
by itself completely dispels it. But now you have enough
accumulated evidence to say he is still quite fresh, he
is still getting better, He is still quite good, and
(15:55):
I think on his best night BC, he could be
champion again.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
I agree he revived himself with this fight, not that
he had fallen too far back. I mean, we talked
about it two back to beck split decision losses against
super elite guys. Here's the deal, though, coming into this fight,
I didn't think there was a scenario where I would
come out of it saying maybe Moreno should get the
next title shot. I obviously if he had waxed their
second one round, maybe that could have changed that equation.
And you might say yourself, well, then why am I
(16:20):
bringing this up to that performance? Show me, I think
something about the passion in his speech, Tell me if
I'm crazy, something about the passion in the post fight
speech where he didn't say Dana fifty G's, he specifically
said Hunter Campbell and specifically pointed to the fan base
that he has a reaction to the arena and the
fact that they just announced that or UFC noce this
(16:43):
September would be a card in Mexico, in Guada Lajara
as they pronounce.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
It, so you can say the G in Guadalajara.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Well, I'm trying to be more more cultured.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Man Guatemala, Guappo, Guadalalahara. You can see the G all right.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
What I'm say I'm saying here is is there an
argument based on the star power and the fact that
we're complaining about lack of star power. We're complaining about
not enough fights in big arenas with huge audiences going nuts.
They're doing the right move by putting no cha on
Mexican soil, hair, no gimmicks like the sphere. Even though
I understand it, it was a big project. It was
probably one and done. I'm wondering if there is an
(17:22):
argument there. But then here's the problem. That fight card
won't be so September. So are you gonna make Pantos.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Just sit out?
Speaker 2 (17:28):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:28):
I'm seeing rumors in the last twenty four hours that
KKF could be next. Do I love Kkf's standing. He
came off a two fight losing skid to win one fight.
Granted that one fight was a knockout of Verse Seg.
It was impressive. Can we have it all at once, though,
Here's what I'm gonna offer you. Okay, we do get
KKF Pantosia next, if Pantosia actually if either guy wins,
(17:49):
is there a case for Moreno to leapfrog Cop and
fight the winner of that at UFC?
Speaker 8 (17:55):
No Cha?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
And I'm telling you it's mostly because of the location
and the commercial value in having Moreno fight for the
title again on Mexican soil in such a big card.
Or are we completely disrespecting Cop here? Where do you
stand on this? Because I'm almost trying to make the
argument that Moreno should be next, because I did think
that performance was redemptive. You did see the impact of
(18:16):
his brand, the first born Mexican UFC champion. I would
want him headlining a no Chay card against Pantotia considering
the all action quality of their last fight. It was
a split decision. It was back and forth. Somebody's gonna
get screwed here? Is there a way around this to
make everybody happy? I mean, should Cop have to fight
Moreno next and we'd have a final four and that
figures it out?
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Or you could try and run back manl Cop versus KKF.
Remember they were scheduled to fight and then KKF had
to pull out due to concussion issues.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
But then you'd be keeping the title inactive until September
if that's the case.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Yes, which I don't know if that's so.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
So I'm asking you what's the best case scenario for
the UFC right now?
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Okay, First of all, I definitely agree with the analysis
that putting Moreno in Mexico City and as well putting
UFC in Guadalajara, these are all great calls. Like a
guy in front of him or a woman whoever, a
fighter in front of their people rarely misses. I have
seen people in Newark walk out on Shaquer Stevenson. Yes,
but but short of that, and you'll agree.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Pantosia Moreno three for the title was a gnarly fight.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
It was insane. It was completely insane. Again, I thought it.
I thought that fight was gonna kill both of them
in terms of any career prospects after because it was
such a brutal ass fight. Man, that's a great question.
What do you do here? Okay? If you don't have
Moreno to headline not Chia UFC, what Mexican fighter can
(19:41):
headline for them? In that role? I'm not sure what
the answer is because you actually looked at this If
you looked at this card, you clearly have a nice
roster of Mexican fighters, but the headlining sort is somewhat
in short supply long.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Look, what do you think?
Speaker 7 (19:57):
I was gonna say, I hope this doesn't happen. But
if Diego Lopez beats Volk, I mean, he does represent Mexico.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
But he's I mean, he's fighting out of Mexico now,
but he's Brazilian, correct, But he's he's citizen.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
If I'm not mistaken, I don't know if he's dual citizen.
But like I do think that the Mexican people and
the fight fans there and the community has embraced down
because you.
Speaker 7 (20:15):
Need a title fight if it's going to be a
pay per view. I was going to say yeah, year
at first, but yeah, year, unless he's fighting for a belt, isn't.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Going to heck Grosso's not on the title level at
the jack second?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Yeah yeah, you could do yahyear, you could do yeah,
ear But I mean he also has a pitbull fight
coming up, and God only knows what's going to happen there. Win, lose,
devastating lost, devastating win. Like, there's a lot of just
unpredictability there. Yeah, I don't know, that's a great question.
I mean, could they do an Alexa Grosso fight headlining there?
I suppose you know, she's.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Not in the title picture at the moment. I mean
the question is how big they want to make it.
If you're going to put a non title fight in
there just to force a Mexican fighter in the main event,
then will that card feel big? It's not a fight night,
it's a numbered pay per view.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
Yeah, I mean, I just feel like the UFC for
a flyweight title shot has to I think COP would
be the best choice, but I do think KKF has
a good claim on it as well Morena, which to
me would come in third. So to me, Morena would
have to stay busy. But then, like who would that
be against? He already beat KKF himself, by the way,
(21:11):
remember he stopped him with strikes. You got Tetsuro Tyra,
but he kind of was overwhelmed by Brandon Royville. You
could run the Royval fight back. It was a split
decision loss the first time.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Oh do that? You're so you're saying doing the non
title revolvers here's the.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Thing about Moreno. He's he was champion, He's had title shots.
Some of these other guys haven't had any of them.
Cop has not had one, KKF has not had one.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
You can do a non title main event of a
pay per view with those.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Guys who said no, j UFC is going to be
a pay per view.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
It's a numbered events.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Not long after it's UFC three.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
So I just first of all, I said, what.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Three twenty?
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (21:50):
So all right?
Speaker 1 (21:50):
What if I add this element into it? And I
don't like you have to have a title on it.
I don't like doing this. But what if we do
KKF versus COP next in a grudge match and we
put an interim title at stake, just so you can
put it up as like the co main event of
one of the next pay per views. And then you
tell Pantosia you're gonna wait until September. You're gonna fight
Mareno in Guadalajara for the title.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I don't love that.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
I don't love that either.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
That sounds too complicated.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Get around this. What are we gonna do here?
Speaker 4 (22:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
If it's not Moreno in the main event September? Who
the hell is it, and it's gonna have to be
for a title, it's gonna have to be.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
You're I mean, the top names that could headline in
that role. You're right, Diego Lopez is one of them.
That's that's an unorthodox call, but I think a doulable call,
especially if he beats Vulcan. If he beats Vulk then
well dude, if he beats Vulc, then I absolute could
do this.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
You could do that.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
And again, when your take is not.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
Walking through that, I was gonna say if beats people,
I was just Diego.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
So if Yaira beats Pitbull, which by the way, I
suspected he, well we'll see I suspected. Well. And if
Diego Lopez beats Vulcan, that's a showdown there.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Would that sell as a pay per view main event?
I understand that if it's going to sell, it's going
to be in that mark. I get why, But I'm saying,
would that sell as a.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Paper view by itself? If that's the jewel of the card. No, Okay, no,
But I mean this is what the UFC's got to worry.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
I just feel like moreno is becoming or already is
like the face of Mexican MMA, Like you know what
I mean? Like he is that dude. He's the blood
and guts warrior in the same way that Mexico has
long process combat sports heroes through boxing. He's that blood
and guts hero, only we saw it in this fight.
He's kind of evolving in the second half of his career.
He's back at the title level. I just feel like
you need him in that main event. But whatever on
(23:28):
that regard, Okay, we can keep rolling on. We're gonna
get to a second a second, but let's hear some
sound from Moreno on being what I just said, such
a huge fan favorite, such a ambassador of the Mexican
fighting an MMA brand. Let's hear him right now.
Speaker 9 (23:42):
Right after the wind, you go to a Hunter and
you're like, I want a title shot.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
I moved a needle.
Speaker 9 (23:46):
Let's go to and put the championship fight there. How
confident are you that that maybe your self Spitch went
through and you're gonna be getting that title shot?
Speaker 6 (23:58):
How come fans? I am man, I don't know, I
don't know nothing right now. I'm just happy. I enjoyed
the moment.
Speaker 10 (24:04):
But let's see what happened, you know, Like I saw
a hunter and he looks very happy with the people
with the crowd, like they only that's the thing, Like,
who knows how much I moved the needle? Maybe not
too much, right, Flywight. It's always it with the same problem.
That's crazy. But I really believe like every single time
and stepping down out that the people goes crazy.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
That's a fact. So that's what happened.
Speaker 9 (24:27):
I mean, you had twenty thousand people cheering in an arena.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
I don't know. I'm just saying so.
Speaker 9 (24:34):
But for sure, what you want next is a title shot.
That's that's what you want.
Speaker 6 (24:38):
That's the goal for sure. Well, I mean I think
it's perfect. I think it's perfect for the problem.
Speaker 10 (24:42):
Even for the UFC, for the promotion, you know, like
if you if they want to get a pay per
view event and not your what saying in September, And
I think I'm the right choice.
Speaker 9 (24:55):
Pantoyo is yet to be booked, so you think they
just wait till till September?
Speaker 6 (24:59):
Bro, they don't even no who knows tell me to do?
You tell me? I don't even know. There's too many questions,
like I don't know, and.
Speaker 9 (25:06):
For sure this time around like a Mexican has to
headline the Mexican Independence Day event. Right the last time
we had O'Malley and Mrat, which was a great fight.
Speaker 11 (25:15):
But it just feels like in I feel today I
have the enough arguments to raise my hand and say, hey,
I can be the main evan the pay per view
in September.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
So he's right if public negotiation is like a chess
or game of poker, that's kind of a sneaky all
and move by putting the pressure on UFC and Hunter
by saying I move the needle. Look at this crowd.
That's a very smart move that he made. Right.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Did they announce the gate receipt for this one? And
obviously in US dollars it's probably going to be a
lot less than what twenty thousand would sell in New
York City. Let's say they did they release any numbers
that you're aware of Long Island, Luke.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I'm not aware.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
I'll google it right now.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
So what are you making him calling out Hunter and
not Dana. I think that everything about that was calculated
and perfect.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Hunter was there, Dana was That's the future, that's I
think Dana. Listen, Dana is a very busy guy. Whatever
else you want to say about him, He's got a
lot on his plate. Hunter seems almost exclusively I'm not
sure if that's quite true, but mostly, let's say, focused
on UFC. He seems to be the guy that's doing
most of the deals. He's at most of these events.
(26:19):
He's sort of the de facto guy at this point.
He's not the face per se. But you know, these
fighters know which side their bread is buttered on and
who they're dealing with. And by the way, he did,
look he was headlining this card he pulled out. I
think it was sold out or pretty close to it.
He's right, he's right about who can sell in the mark.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I med pause for the sake of pedanticness. Normally you
call me non cultured swine food racist. I attempt to
pronounce it the right way Juada Lajara, which both Danny
Segurha and Brandon moreno working. And then you corrected me
and said I could pronounce the g even though they
both didn't know.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Your your ears aren't working. So here's one lesson I
had to learn in Spanish that was quite hard. Listen
to me, trust me, trust me, I've made this mistake.
A million times. There are certain ways in which they'll
pronounce letters that are so soft that to your ear
are imperceptible. And then I'll be like, no, I don't
trust me. I've had this conversation around this because there
are other g words that that you don't pronounce like this.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
So exclusive to Mexico or all of it depends on
the accent.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
But like, for example, like in Colombia, they'll they'll have
words that start with the letter B and they'll say it,
and you will swear on your life that they are
not saying the letter B. And I would ask my wife,
why aren't you guys pronouncing the letter B? And they'll
be like, we are pronouncing the letter B like it's you.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Know, so when they when they say itch instead of bitch.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Or what no, So for example, so for example, she'll
even say it's an American word, but she'll say it
borrowing from the way which they say the letter B.
She'll be like tacoel and he'd be like, no, no, no,
it's taco bell. Like yeah, I said belle, and I'd
be like no, no, no, you said all right. So so
she's saying it, he's saying it softly, but it is
Guadalaja killing me.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
The numbers for you guys, the live gate was two
point five mil.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Yeah, that's pretty fucking good in that market. That's really
good to quote, to quote Joe Pifer and that ship
hole with all swine, we'll get to that. Dude.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
If you can't live in paradise in Mexico on American dollars,
I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Don't know what to tell you either. We also have
Brandon Moreno talking about this what you teased earlier. This
victory put him number one on the list of most
flyweight wins in company history. Oh, we don't have sound.
We have the just the stats, just the stats here
and you can see it right here, Todd. Oh, so
this puts him above all of them, right, it puts
him at eleven.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
So you've got Pentojia at thirteen, DJ at thirteen, Benavidez
at thirteen. This is the conversation we were having.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Okay, I thought that he eclipsed did I I wasn't read.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
No, no moreno sitting at eleven. So obviously he's not quite there.
I mean, Benavidez, this is what I meant. This is
what I mean. Benavidez has kind of been like this
de facto number two. Yes, clearly Pantojia now occupies that place,
but it creates for an interesting conversation exactly where Moreno
is is. So you know, this is what I mean.
You're asking about Sahudo. So Ludo obviously did great at flyweight,
(29:05):
but he just doesn't have a very long tenure there.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
It's almost like Connor at featherweight in a sense, even
though Connor was there longer like a.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Shooting star, but then he was gone, you know what
I mean. So it's just very very hard to judge
who's what. But I think after a win like this,
he beat another really relevant guy in a tough contest.
He's now accumulated enough of a resume you.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Want him in the main event for a title in
Wada Lahara. I know you do, I know you do.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
Okay, you're just gonna do it now off purpose like
pronouncing with a W.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
That's what Danny Sigura did. He's saying it softly. I'm
telling I'm telling you. Let's talk about Steve r Seg.
Unfortunately for the fella from Australia who fought for a
UFC title in what his fourth UFC fight is now
three consecutive losses, the very close title loss to Pantosia,
the first round knockout loss to KKF, and now this. Yes,
(29:56):
it was four rounds to one on most scorecards, including mine. Yes,
I thought Erseg performed like an elite. His technique was
fantastic his defense. The knock obviously is that he did
not do enough offensively to have a greater argument for it.
But Luke Bill Parcell said it. You are what your
record says you are. And at the moment, this guy's
(30:18):
an elite fighter on a three fight losing skid. Is
it time to admit that the company, I don't want
to say failed in fast tracking him because he got
fast tracked because everyone in the division had fought each
other so many times. But should they regret it? Should
Steve Erseg regret it in hindsight considering the lot he's
(30:39):
in right now? Yeah, I think he should, and I
think the UFC.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
This is why the UFC we'll talk about it later,
but is signing Kyogi Horagucci. This is why they brought
over a Kayasa Kora. This is why there's something of
a renewed emphasis on not just flyweights more generally, but
you know flyweights they can put in, you know, headlining
roles either for pay per views or big fight night
cards too. Right, this this is why because ersg was
(31:02):
available when they needed it. And again it's very very
easy to be like, oh, you shouldn't take a UFC
title shot when we have no skin in the game
that way, But the reality is also now three fights
in a row, it's not like he lost to bums,
and I want to be clear, it's not like this
was a devastating loss where he got beat up and defeated.
He didn't really get beat up in this way. He
(31:22):
took some big shots here and there, but it wasn't
it wasn't a drubbing in that way. But it now
sets him into a place kind of firmly where you're like,
you're not top five, You're you're just not top five,
and you might not be top five four or sometime.
It's hard to say with the nature of the division.
But if you don't take the right fights at the
right time promotionally, it's true you get left behind. But
(31:43):
at the same time, if you take fights promotionally as
you are primary reason for taking it. And again the
UFC exerts some pressure on these guys to take it.
Oh you know, he's his own man. He can say no,
you also will mess up your development. And one of
the things that I took away from this fight BC,
did it not look to you? We knew this going in,
but it was really I thought we were reminded of this.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
First. I just didn't have enough weapons.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
He had a nice jab, he was fundamentally sound, but
he did not have an especially threatening, well rounded attack.
He was kind of at the mercy of like, I
have to fire everything behind the jab and if that works, great,
and if that doesn't, I don't really know where else
to go with this. Whereas Moreno might be a little
bit more frenetic and kind of all over the place
(32:29):
at times, but he's got a wide swath of different
offensive opportunities to go to, and I think that played
a role. If you're constantly getting ready for very very
tough guys back to back to back, you are not
putting in the kind of work necessary. You don't have
time to put in the kind of work necessary just
to build your game. If I were in charge of
(32:50):
our segment, of course, I am not, and I again,
I don't have skin in the game BCE. But to
the extent that I did, that's three fights in a row.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
He doesn't get his wind bonus.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Just the show would take a big step back. I
would take a giant So.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
We're not gonna fight chaias to current next, that's what
you're saying.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
I would fight somebody outside the top ten. To be
perfectly honest with you, you need to get right fight,
that's what you need. Then those are hard to come
by in the UFC. If I'm the UFC, I might
be kind of like trying to give him something of
a soft landing after this, because not only did he
fight in Brazil and Mexico where was the kkffight that
was in the hometown, but two of those he had
to fly across the goddamn earth to be the B
(33:28):
side to some other dude, and that was that's a
tough opportunity.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
He's kind of.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Earned one, I think a little bit on the backside.
But you just have to be careful if you're so,
if you're always getting ready for this is why BC
for example, we'll talk about it a minute. But Raoul
Rosas Junior, this was his sixth UFC fight. I actually
went and I looked George Saint Pierre's six UFC fight
was Sean Shirk. Yeah. And I bring this all up
to say, there comes a point where if you become
(33:52):
the champion, you at that point you don't really have
a lot of time to work on your game. But
the theory is that you've already done enough of that
where you can just kind of sharpened at the margins.
But if you've not sharpened at the margins and you
are thrust to the front of the line, it fucks
up everything in the end. This is a cautionary tale,
not one that there's no happy ending to necessarily, but
(34:13):
as it stands was this was avoidable. This was a
difficult circumstance. But I think a change is in order
a bit.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
I mean, one of the three is a devastating loss,
meaning the first round that he got blocked that akf in.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
A sense, in a sense, even though he lost me
see I'm sorry to cut you off, in a sense,
he did rebound from that in this fight sure by
showing resiliency through twenty five.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Still looks like he has top five ability. This is
sort of a bad luck worst case scenario. No, see it.
I'm bringing you in a main card minute fame because
you're the son of an Australian. Can this gentleman be rebuilt?
Are you worried about him?
Speaker 7 (34:46):
I am worried about him. Depending on how they match
make them. I like what Luke said, he needs someone
even out of the top fifteen. Dude, just give him
a get right fight. And it's not to say he
can't hang with the top five at flyweight.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
I think he can.
Speaker 12 (34:57):
He just you can't be on a four fight.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, he's got to figure out how to be more dangerous,
take a little more chance, or not not take reckless chances,
but inflict damage or or bring the fight to the
ground and try to advance that way. I mean Moreno's
doing that. At thirty one. You see him sitting down
on his punches. More you see him committing to power
that right cross. The knockdown er Seg was good stuff.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Just hand to foot combos. Think about how many Moreno
threw some that landed, some that didn't. But at least
they've got Erseg on the run blocking this landing that,
whereas Erseg is kind of just trying to fire one,
one two, maybe a one two three at most. Yeah,
it's just it's just not enough. There has to be
a further development of his game, and that doesn't happen
(35:41):
until you have time to go wait a second time out,
let me just work on that.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Here we go topic number two. If we can transition,
we're staying with UFC Mexico City. But let's talk fireworks
because this card certainly produced that. You had an electric
crowd and you had some hungry mf first looking for
big time finishes. Overall, there was action, overall, there was fun.
So Luke, there were five finishes on this card, and
I think pretty much all of them stood out in
(36:07):
a big way. How about a little little rank here?
Can you drank your three favorite finishes on this card,
not counting mine when I was watching, I'm just kid.
I don't want to play that joke again.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Let's rewind and remove that pants pants rank your three
favorite finishes and then explain how you arrived at that order,
because I'm going to say it. I shooed on the
UFC when they deserve it. This fight card was awesome
and I loved it. Did you not? Did you? Were
you not? Entertaining. I was entertained. I was entertained.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
Loyle and Luke was kind of poop pooing it a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
How was the hardcore? Not true?
Speaker 12 (36:40):
I was not poo pooing it. I said it was fun,
not great.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
It was fun.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
That's fair, that's fair. But then there's Apex shithole cards
that he's like, I actually enjoyed myself.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
I know you love the Apex? Can we just can
we just quietly admit that that you love the Apex?
Speaker 12 (36:53):
I wouldn't say that if you guys looked at this
weekend's card. I mean it's kind of rough.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
The main event is sick, sorry, event is sick. And
Josh Emmont is a huge dog. He probably taken. Okay,
all right, my three favorites. Here we go, ready. Number
one for me? Number one a table gotier taken on
Jose Medina, twenty two year old prospect at middleweight. When
was the last time we had a twenty two year
old prospect at middleweight who, by the way, looks like
(37:17):
he's chiseled out of fucking stone. I was so excited
about this one. That was number one for me with
a bullet he looked awesome. And by the way, menacing,
and he was like, I'm single, I ain't got shit
to do. Book me another fight.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
I'm here to bang. By the way, poor Jose Medina
who got lit up then called him on and then
got that ridiculous need of the face.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
It just awe. I mean, careful what you wish for?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Yes, yes, noeed.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Number two for me is gonna be Manuel Torres stopping
Drew Dover. I know we're gonna talk about the stop
it here in just a minute, but just as a
win and a finish, brutal, devastating, quick, authoritative under two
minutes his best win co main event slot, give me
that one all day. From there. I think there's a
couple of different ways you could go.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
I kind of I have two choices.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
For the last one, I'll give it to I'll go
Jamal Emmer stopping Gabriel Miranda, especially since this cornerman wanted
to fistfight as soon as it was over.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Dude, what was up with that? I couldn't. I would
love to show it, but they would copyright us. What
was the reason behind that?
Speaker 4 (38:19):
The best assessment that I could find was that there
was disagreement about what Jamal should have been doing.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
The gentleman on the left was screaming, I told I've
told you yes.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
So I think they wanted him to strike versus the
other guy wanted him to do something else, maybe wrestle,
and so he was like in your face kind of
a thing. But then he did the double risk control
a bit, you know, which I have to do to
Twoki sometimes when she's going with bananas. So those are
my top three. There's a couple different ways, obviously you
could go if you wanted, but those are my favorite.
How many of those do you share?
Speaker 1 (38:47):
The first two? But I gotta add, even though it
wasn't a knockout and I was moved emotionally, how about
Edgar shy Rez. Yeah, dude, I mean, first of all,
separate from the post fight interview in the story and
the late fuck, what was the late grandfather selling his
truck so chyres can get the surgery, which just I
mean your boy Bobbiano Busquet. He was even writing on
(39:10):
Twitter that he had tears in his eyes before that
even happened, because it was already such an emotional moment
right there. But dude, how about the uh, the the
almost the ease in which he got himself into that
submission and then that the face crank was just kind of.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
The reason I didn't include that was because Virgara's sub
defense was like, true, he wasn't even he wasn't even
hand fighting, And I was like, don't you love.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
The gyros when they announced me he does that like
little gun motif thing and.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Introduced another form of fist fighting to the Mexican people,
and they make it awesome. This is this is hardly
some surprise, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (39:45):
What what do you think about him in terms of
his like total stocking capability. I think he's good. I
I love the look, I love the swagger, I love
the passion.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
I don't know if he's great. He's definitely gonna beat
up on this level of opponent.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
By way, we need guys like that, okay, who.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
I'll tell you which one. I didn't pick them? And
if you don't pick them, who else did you have?
Speaker 1 (40:04):
What do you got?
Speaker 4 (40:05):
What do you oh? The David Martinez and the Simon
Olaverafyt David Martinez looked like an interesting prospect, lightening fucking speed,
able to change angles and punching lanes the whole way.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
He looks the knee and then the burel punches when
he was down.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Yet he looks interesting to me.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Yeah, and that was also a first round finish. We
got a lot of those on this one Long Island. Look,
anyone jump out to you from a finish standpoint, not from.
Speaker 7 (40:27):
A finish You guys kind of nailed them all. I
want to just give a shout out to Loopy Godinyaz Julie.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Okay, unfortunately poopy Godinyas, but she didn't have a just
teen kish moment. I wish we could show it. But
in between rounds telling her coach I have to poop.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
Which was just that's me between stops on the train.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
My colleague Brett Brookhouse the CBS Sports was like, can't
we normalize this relatable behavior here? It was a funny moment,
So was the video she put out afterwards. I was like,
don't worry everybody. I took care of it. Everything's good.
But have you ever heard that before? I don't think
I have.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
I've not heard it very often.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
I have to say I've watched fights for a long time.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
That doesn't happen too regularly.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
I'm glad you brought that up Long Island because we've
been bagging on women's MMA. It's in a bad stretch.
It's a bad era right now for women's MMA. My
beloved strawweight division is not you know, one through ten
could contend for a title like it used to be.
But that performance against Brazil's Pulastrey, they both fricking brought it. Yes,
when was the last time you saw a three round
women's fight that was all action from start to finish?
(41:25):
Got gnarlier as the fight progressed. They both laid it
out on the line. To see Lupy get hurt in
round three and have to hang through there, dude, that
was prime entertainment.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Yeah, you won't hear me complain from this. I know
what a lot of times were like, Oh I went
to a decision again when we're talking about the women's fights,
But as long as they're scrapping, I really don't care.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
When they were scrapping and so, Lupi was coming off
a two fight losing streak to Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern.
But before that she had put together a nice stretch
of winds four in a row, beating Calvio d Cody,
Tabitha Ricci among those four. Her boxing look crisp in
this fight.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
She also, I mean, she always does, but she looked
to be in very, very good physical condition as well.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
It didn't look like she's kind of amping up for
a run in a division that needs the new breath
of fresh air for sure.
Speaker 7 (42:06):
And like you said, losing to Vienna and Mackenzie, those
aren't bad losses at all. She's got time to turn
it around.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
Thirty one, she should be in her athletic prime still
for MMA as well.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
The crowd loves her too, so that was a nice moment.
I thought too to somebody who kind of stuck their
head up and said, I'm here, I'm ready. I've turned
things around. Let's see what happens right there? So fun
stuff on this book. Can we show the tweet there
of the difference between the feeling coming out of London
and the feeling coming out of Mexico City And this
is how a card is done? Boy? Indeed, right there.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
I even saw Britz being like Jesus, what did we
I know.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
What an Aspinhaul was complaining about that?
Speaker 4 (42:40):
You listen, and he's right. Sometimes it's just matchmakings. It's
just dude. Half of matchmaking is engineering and the other
half is just luck. And it wasn't like that Card
in London was filled with some bullshit fights on paper.
Just you didn't get you didn't you didn't fulfill its potential.
This one, to me, I think delivered relative to what
(43:01):
it could have done.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Let's stick back into a couple of those fun finishes
we mentioned from a storyline purpose Drew Dober Mike Beltron
got criticized for the amount of punishment Dober took after
he got dropped, particularly the idea that there was some,
not some, all rabbit punches. I mean, was about seventy
five percent rabbit punches.
Speaker 4 (43:18):
That looked well, I didn't know there were rabbit punches.
It looked like it was close in that regard to
the first one or second one maybe, But after that.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Now complaints were about the amount of punishment he received.
Although Dober would pop up and kind of you know,
he's out of it, he didn't realize the fight was ending.
He was still kind of posturing up to fight bad
stop it from Beltra.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
And how do you judge that, I mean, certainly in
a late one, I don't know how you can argue
that that one was on time and I know what
everybody says, Oh, he gave him every opportunity to right himself,
And I'm like, yeah, every opportunity, and then all the
opportunities he didn't actually need anymore because it was pretty
clear he wasn't moving. I mean, that's the point, right,
like the whole It's one thing if you're like grabbing
a leg, but if somebody is getting drilled, they don't
(43:56):
necessarily go all the way limp. They might just stay static.
It's not like he's moving or like trying to like,
you know, lunge his shoulder behind the knee or pick
it up or stand on his feet. He's just sitting there,
absorbing punishment. And and then it was getting kind of looser
and looser, and he just was watching it. I appreciate
referees who try to not intervene too early, because that
(44:17):
I think is the worst thing that they feel like
they can do, except for if.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
There's an eypoke involve can you intervene already?
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Yeah, inst case if there's an ipoke, which case they
don't want to do a damn thing.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
It's nice to not be talking about eye folks for once.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
Right or bad judging.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 7 (44:31):
We did have questionable judging in the first fight of
the night, I thought often Hubbard one.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Yeah, fine, fine, but I mean, you know at the
main card or where I counted, you didn't get bullshit.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Luke saying it didn't count on the No, no what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (44:42):
But I mean, like the most consequential bouts did not happen.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Even if you're not saying that, you're right. We've got
sound from many torres talking about this stoppage against Drew Dover.
Speaker 9 (44:50):
Let's listen in and I have to ask you about
the stoppage. A lot of people on the referee, Mike
Boutron for allowing that fight to continue. I believe Drew
Dover took about fifty teen answer shots. What do you
think about the stoppage and how do you how do
you feel about it?
Speaker 13 (45:06):
Away referee, the the activit referee opportunity.
Speaker 14 (45:28):
Well, if you look the replay, I was watching the
referee to say to say him like, I'm making a
lot of damage to my opponent, but he didn't stop
the fight. So I'm a professional, so I keep doing it.
But yeah, of course I feel that my opponent, he
was a little down even before the stoppage.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
Yeah, all right, that wasn't quite an accurate translation. I
don't know who that translator was. He omitted some details,
nothing too much. But it's always kind of funny when
they like give you the cliff Notes version sure, whereas
five on a bosque gives you almost word for word
what they say.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Yeah, and he's kind of suave and classy and delivery
like you know PBCs of course, you know Martine bottter
U does translate what ye have.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
A gaucho the thing as as you would call him
the woucho.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Yeah. The thing I love about the last last wou
Schow is that it's almost like he's acting as he translates, right,
Like he gets into the same emotional state that the
that the person saying it is, so like if they're
being snarky, er, they're being a dick, he'll he'll he'll
change his voice to that which I love.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
You know, yes he does. Guess he gets a little
spicy with this. Yes, well, I mean I want to
say this, Translating is fucking hard. The speed having to
do it's hard. But so when you get someone like
Faby on a busque, you get spoiled.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
Yes, So let's talk about Gautier is twenty two years'
body used to know why the silent assassin, he's what,
he's only got like six.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
Pro fights, right, so I'm a little more than that.
I think he's got eight or nine.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
But yes, and he put it on Medina. Let's hear
him speak about it.
Speaker 9 (47:04):
How'd you feel about the stoppage and did you feel
like the fight was done?
Speaker 1 (47:08):
When No, I.
Speaker 8 (47:09):
Feel like the ruff he did his job, you know,
like if he let me continue, know like something by
couldn't happen, you know, so the ruff you save him.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
I just want to be.
Speaker 8 (47:19):
Busy, you know, just to keep fighting. As you say, like,
I'm only twenty two years old, so you know my
body recover very fast, very quick.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
So now I just want to.
Speaker 8 (47:30):
Be keep being busy, busy that keep fighting and fighting.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
I'm still young.
Speaker 8 (47:34):
I have nothing else to do, so that's that's what
I like to do. And I want to do that,
you know, as much as I can. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (47:41):
You have to say, man, he's obviously from Cameroon as well,
and people are making then to comparisons and which is fine,
but what I would say is like you just realize, man,
there's so much global talent that gets crushed by poverty
or difficult circumstances, or you know, a war torn country
where you just don't have access to all of the
different you know, special athletes that exist in one place
(48:02):
or the other, and so when a couple of them
break through, you're like, dude, how many more of these
guys are there? Probably a ship tone, probably.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
A let's talk about Ronaldo lazy Boy Rodriguez, who came
in there missing weight by a pound and then loses
a unanimous decision to Kevin Borjas, including two scorecards that
were three zip. Couldn't have gone any worse outside of
getting knocked out. What were your thoughts on that?
Speaker 4 (48:28):
People were asking me ahead of time, like what do
you expected for this one? And you're always expecting chaos
with lazy Boy, but he looked this interest is not
the word. He looked unfocused.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
Should we talk about is it? Could it be altitude effect?
I mean, like normally a couple of fights, whether it's
Salt Lake City or Mexico City, there's that, or Denver
there's that effect. I didn't necessarily see outside of Joe
Pifer that we'll talk about. I didn't necessarily see that
on this card. No, I don't think that. I don't.
I don't.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
First of all, he is more popular. Can we just
say this, because we're speaking in English here, I think
for the Mexican say love him a lot. He's more
popular than he is good. Can we say that? I
don't know if that's unfair.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
He used to say that about our show. Now it's
the opposite. Now we're really good. It's just we can't
get any more viewers. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:15):
Yeah, he's more popular than good. And I'm just sort
of wondering if that is starting to get noticed more
rather than like, oh, there was something really aberan in
this camp.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Maybe there was.
Speaker 4 (49:24):
I don't know, but I just feel like he's coming
back to earth a little bit.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Let's hear from lazy Boy on this defeat looking we'll translate.
He hasn't, I don't know, not upset at all this.
Speaker 4 (49:45):
No, he's like, I'm laughing, we lost, you know.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
You know, so he's riding shirtless in the car, mouth bloodied,
but that's the life of a fighter. Yeah, he didn't
look too bothered.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
Again, he is quite popular in Mexico, like like wildly popular,
which is great, but you know, this is this is
this is a business of winning. That's just the reality,
and you have to do that to be a star here.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
All right, we're gonna get into rawu rosas in the
next topic in a second, but let's talk about the
Joe Pifer Kilvin Gasolen fight that did not happen. Pifer
on Friday did an interview with Megan o'levy after the
way in where he said, I'm feeling great, I'm in
the best shape of my life, which you know, seems
to be the truth. That he came into this camp ready,
assumed he was going to dominate, was going to be
(50:24):
an all action matchup, and then overnight went out to
dinner with the team, claims he never drank the tap
water at all, slept in a tent for months to
try to prepare himself for altitude, to the altitude the
acclimatization of the word for BC right there, wow, But
then would pull out of the fight. Was ill said
he should shit ten to twelve times, and we're.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
Not gonna that's an average morning for me. I'll just
be honest.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
The video he ended up put it out was multiple
minutes long, so we're not going to show it. But
a part of that video. He was like, I'm not
a negative person. I don't want the negativity, but fuck
y'all if you have a problem with it. I think
that country as a shithole. Blah blah blah blah blah.
I'll never step foot in it again. Blah blahlah blah. What. Yeah,
it was like a complete heel turn.
Speaker 4 (51:08):
Yeah, but I can understand certainly being disappointed because remember
one thing, and I try to like, you have to
understand the fighter's position a little bit here, which is
that this is how he gets paid. He was a
who knows what expenses he has.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
He said he flew out his friend's family and whole team.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
And then the whole team fell apart because he got
sick in another country.
Speaker 1 (51:27):
He's not getting paid, that's the job, and so on.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
If I may, I do have sympathy for somebody who
is expecting to do Like when we have ever been,
ever been in a situation in your life where you
were expecting a paycheck and it was like just for
whatever reason, you lost a job or something happened at
that job.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
Or when they were like we're gonna fold Showtime sports.
Speaker 4 (51:45):
Yeah, you know what I'm trying to say, like where
you're accounting on something and then it just evaporates in
an instant by what appears to be no fault of
your own. Again, I don't know the real circumstances, but
based on what he's saying, it just kind of happened,
and so for that reason, I do have a degree
of sympathy. However, like using that as a basis to
attack the entire country of Mexico, which you know, is
(52:08):
a fucking awesome place, to the best of my understanding,
which has a deep and rich history, and most people
are able to go through there without getting sick. Again,
I'm not denying that he did. It was an unfortunate circumstance.
I think it'd be one thing if he was like
really disappointed and said, you know, I want some I
want more manageable circumstances next time. I think most people
would be quite sympathetic to that. But then to then
(52:30):
take a shot at Mexico, sho, Yeah, Well, to just
go after Mexico more broadly, which, by the way, like
Mexico City is in the mountains, but parts of Mexico
are on the coast or in the jungle, or there's
desert plains like Mexico was a vast different place. I'm
sorry that his experience didn't go well. Again, I understand
(52:52):
that frustration, but using that as a cause to go
after a country of one hundred and thirty million plus
people that has vast different climates, vast different terrains, vast
different experiences. And I'm gonna say one more time, if
you're on American dollars and you're in Mexico, you should
be living real nice. It seems to me a totally
unwarranted shot and you know, quite regrettable.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Yeah, quick mention on two other fights, Milki, Coasta and
Sea Rod had a somewhat entertaining featherweight scrap that would
go twenty nine to twenty eight across all three, But
it didn't feel like Coasta necessarily elevated himself in that performance.
What did you think about it? Yeah, it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (53:32):
Sea Rod was coming in with some hype and you thought, oh,
if this guy could get a win, he could snatch
a little bit of that. But it just didn't feel
like that transfer took place exactly. Because if if you
beat up the guy that's kind of surprisingly beating up
on everybody else, you kind of get this look like, Okay,
I'm the real deal holy Field, And I don't mean
that beating up on Sea Rod doesn't mean anything. It
(53:52):
actually does, but it just didn't happen in a way
where you could You could you could ride that momentum
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
Yes, And then at lightweight, Ralpha Garcia and Vince Pachelle
having a pretty damn fun three round fight, but then
two scorecards going three to nothing in favor of Garcia. Yeah,
and Pachelle straight up says on Twitter he got robbed?
Did he? Uh?
Speaker 4 (54:12):
I could see a different scorecard, but I think the
wreck guy won. All right, This is what I mean
about the judges. Like, man, it wasn't necessarily the best one,
but I didn't think the wrong guy got you know
ahead here. I like that card fun time, yeah times,
for thirteen fights, it had a lot to offer.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
Let's go to topic number three, and it's probably the
biggest storyline of that card we haven't mentioned yet. Raoul
Rosas Junior. He continued his many winning ways here at
UFC Mexico City, climbing to four straight wins as he
defeated Vince Morales in a three round unanimous decision. Luke
it wasn't without you know, the need, I guess for
some criticism. In fact, it was Rojas himself who said
(54:49):
afterwards it wasn't his best performance. Do you believe he's
showing the signs of proper development, as this would be
the fourth straight win after that lost to Sea Rod
or or is the criticism right that he got trapped
into some dangerous submissions against somebody maybe not a master
at that that there's more room for improvement moving forward.
Speaker 4 (55:13):
Okay, So here's what I would say about Rosas. When
I watched this fight, and I went back and I
watched it twice just to make sure, I absolutely see
two things that I think are very much playing in
his favor the right way. One, I don't know how
you can watch him fight versus six fights ago, five
(55:33):
fights ago, whatever, and then not come away with the
conclusion that clearly he's getting better, especially in the stand up.
Now it's not very useful stand up over the course
of fifteen minutes, but early in the first or as
a means to an end, it's cleaner. The entries are cleaner,
the exits are cleaner, the defense is typically a.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Little bit better.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
He was getting popped with the jab a little bit,
but in general pretty good. That part is all pretty
good to me. Also on the back he's still chasing
positions a little too strongly, but not nearly as bad
as he once did. Sure, so I don't know how
you can watch him and say he hasn't cleaned up
a lot. He's cleaned up a lot really just just
a matter of fact that he's cleaned up a lot.
And then the second part is like overall there's a
(56:14):
certain kind of calmness to what he's trying, where if
he gets drilled, he's not doing the same kind of
tip for tat thing as he did, at least not
as badly. He's not going as wildly. There's a certain
kind of thoughtfulness all the way through. And you saw
him initially kind of striking and then it was just
a grappling game. And I think that's also the right
call we said it on Friday's MK. It still should
(56:35):
look something like the rebuild of Aaron Pico, where could
he win on the feet maybe, but it's better right
now to use your strengths, continue to lean into them.
And he's doing all of that.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Like the plus is he got into trouble, but he
got out of it for the most part. He had
to put the thumbs up though when he was.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
Deeply that last one. I mean, the thing you have
to ask that this is the point though, and this
is kind of where I'm at. I have it's simply
not arguable that he's not getting better. He is getting better.
Speaker 1 (57:01):
It's only Twenty's only.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
Twenty So again, we're so far away from a point
where we have to be like, what are we doing here?
But at the same time, I don't necessarily see anything
that tells me we're headed towards championship territory. Now to
the point you raise, You might say, but it's so early,
Yes it is. I cannot declare to you that I
here it is on March thirty first, twenty twenty five.
(57:25):
I'm saying he'll never fight for a tile. That's really
not what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
Yeah, you were saying that three fights ago. Actually you
were like, he's stunned, his growth is stunted, he'll never
blah blah blah.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
Well he's getting better, but like I don't. People were
calling him prodigy.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
Yes, what is the evidence for that? Okay, that's a
fair point. That's a fair point.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
So I'm not denying he's not making the right kinds
of incremental progress that you should see for somebody at twenty.
I just don't know what that has to do with
him within you know, I'm gonna be the youngest champion
or youngest bantamweight champion or whatever. We see him very
far removed from that, and so again it's kind of
step by step and iterative. But this is what I
said on Friday ABC, like we're kind of removing a
(58:05):
little bit of that. That part of the conversation I
think has died, not died, but it has significantly shrunk
around him, right, which I think is to his benefit.
That conversation right now is poison for his career.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
It was poison for Macy Barber too at that time.
Speaker 4 (58:20):
Right And she finally is turning a corner to Pere
since she has this fight coming up against Aaron Blancherd.
We'll see how that goes. But for Rosas at twenty, dude,
we shouldn't even be contemplating a title fight right now.
In his defense, So I guess what I would say
BC is I do like what I am seeing.
Speaker 1 (58:36):
Let's see how it goes.
Speaker 4 (58:37):
But I'm going to continue to ask for a restraint
about where this all leads. We're not even at that
point of the conversation where we need to have to
worry about that yet.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
The crowd loves him, though, yes, and they're building something,
so I think they have the motivation. They should have
the motivation to continue this slow build. We saw signs
on the ground where he's not fully there. I mean,
I don't know enough about the grappling jiu jitsu game
to try to speak on this, but was in was
he almost was? He put in dangerous situations in choke
(59:06):
attempts that shouldn't have put him there.
Speaker 4 (59:08):
So the guy he was going up against is an
interesting kind of grappler because he has something in that
particular kind of choke series he goes for. To me,
is a little gimmicky, but gimmicky doesn't necessarily mean bad.
Speaker 1 (59:21):
The Mackenzi teene was unstoppable until it wasn't right.
Speaker 4 (59:23):
So, for example, I think that his opponent should have
tried to wrap the legs rather than trying to wrap
behind the head. He was trying to recapture the mechanics
of what he does for that shin in like almost
Peruvian necktie slash guillotine set up that he has, and
I think that at the point where he was transitioning,
(59:44):
he should have moved away from that, and he didn't.
And so that to me is like he was going
for a choke that probably works really well in the
room and has in certain amount of fights, but against
resisting good opponents at the UFC level. And again, you
know this is an opponent who is there in that sense,
it's just gonna be low percentage, which I think is
what the evidence showed you. So you have to ask
yourself if someone else had gone for a guillotine then
(01:00:04):
switched to a dars or an anticond or whatever, depending
on the setup. Because anticona in this case, I have
to go back and look and then wrap the legs.
That's a different scenario. That's when you're gonna begin to
crunch them like an accordion.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Widely lost that final round and two of the three
rounds in the fight. He was saved by the bell
right the choke on.
Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
So this is and to me, to me, that's something
else I'm noticing him not tapping to those kinds of things.
He got a little bit lucky with that, okay, but whatever.
Guys get lucky in fights for things, and he had
he did good defense where he would roll on top
of his opponent, where you're just kind of having to
use the arms for the squeeze, and unless you're just
like insanely strong, that's very, very difficult to secure. The
(01:00:42):
thing that's more interesting to me is he comes out
in the first round a lot of times and he
gets like these takedowns, and then he'll get to the
back and he'd be like, wow, dude, like he's gonna
build from here.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
And he gets there quick. It's seamless, right, okay, But.
Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
Then by the second and third rounds, which you begin
to notice is sometimes he gets to these positions, but
they'd actually become less and less effective as the rounds
were on, versus more effective against more advanced grapplers, because
if an advanced grappler will kind of test that to
see what you're going to give him, and then they're like, oh,
I have now audited your defense, and now I know
how to beat it. He doesn't seem to know how
(01:01:15):
to beat it yet. And again, I want to say
it one more time. He's fucking twenty. This is why
these conversations about where it's all going are a little silly,
but that is something to pay attention to. For somebody
who can score that quickly in the first he should
be able to build off of that. Again, you might say, well,
what about ballall against Leon? Okay, but that's two title
fucking winners. Basically, that's a different level of a conversation
(01:01:37):
at the prelim stage. If you can get to someone's
back almost instantly, you should be able to build off
of that. And to me, he rides positions better. He
didn't fall off and go forward at the same time
the same.
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Way he did.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
He was able to He was much better about going
off to the side or pulling his opponent off of
the base. But the fact that it continues to get
less effective over time, to me is a bit of
an issue.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Yeah, he's twenty and he hasn't learned how to beat it.
I learned that in high school. Okay, Hey, let's.
Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
Hear from rose Don't don't reward that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Okay, let's hear it for reward that. Let's hear from
Rosesques grading his performance.
Speaker 9 (01:02:08):
Now, let's talk about your performance overall. How would you
grade it? Went to a decision you looked good in
the striking. Obviously, your grappling has always been strong. How
would you grade it and.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
How do you feel? Dennis to watch it?
Speaker 6 (01:02:20):
But for now, grate it?
Speaker 5 (01:02:23):
Hey out of ten, I feel like I got a
lot to improve, and I'm proud of myself in a
way that I managed to stay calm, patient throughout hard positions.
I feel like I conicted him in the first round,
but then he slipped the other punches and then I
went for the takedown. I just would have liked to finish,
(01:02:46):
but these fights give me more experience. I'm just twenty
years old, still growing, evolving and getting a step closer
to the belt.
Speaker 9 (01:02:53):
Now that the fight's over, it's the safe to say
that your next fight has to be against a ranked opponent.
Speaker 5 (01:02:59):
I think so, I mean or whoever the UFC wants
to put me, to be honest, more than anything, I'm
just focused on the belt, that's all. It doesn't matter
if I'm ten fights away, fifteen fights away. I'll get
them over with. That's my ultimate goaling. More than anything.
I'm able to provide it for my family every single fight,
(01:03:22):
more and more, and I'm just happy that now, God willing,
I'm gonna be able to go back right now and
talk about buying a house for my mother, my family,
and keep supporting them and myself. So I'm happy at
the moment and excited to be back, hopefully against the
(01:03:42):
top fifteen opponents.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
It was largely sober response from him. I liked it
interesting though that he scored himself an eight out of
ten when in the cage he seemed much more down
about the performance.
Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
Eight out of ten seems a little strong, but it
depends what he's gradingcaus like, you know, what did we
work on in camp and to what extent did we execute?
And that's it might be eight o f ten. You know,
I don't know what the great is. The one thing
I will say is giving him a ranked bantamweight next
would be a tragic mistake.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
Don't do that long, I'll look I would, I don't
know about I'm not going to go as far as
tragic mistake. But development wise, where are we at with him?
Speaker 7 (01:04:16):
I mean, I do think Vince Morales is someone who's
kind of hard to look good against, so I don't
judge him too much for this performance. But I also
don't think he needs a ranked opponent yet. I don't
think it'll be tragic, but I think he needs one
more before getting a top.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
All right. I like what he said that if it's
ten to fifteen fights before the title, I mean he's
being sober and honest, So that's that's not bad.
Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
Yeah, that part I thought was good. It might and
in fact it might actually be that long. So fine,
all right.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
Hey, that was a good time, by the way, to
remember where tequila's story truly began. In seventeen ninety five,
Quervo invented tequila. Since then, Cuervo has stayed true to
its roots. It's the same family, the same land, and
that same passion. Two hundred and thirty years later, they
are still here in every pore, in every marguerite, and
(01:05:00):
in every celebration. So enjoy the tequila that started it all, Quervo,
the tequila that invented tequila. Proximo Quervo dot com. Please
drink responsibly and luke another reminder to the people that
we are closing in on the loaded UFC three fourteen card,
which means next Wednesday, not this Wednesday. Next Wednesday, April seventh, ninth, ninth,
(01:05:22):
April ninth, ninth.
Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
I think right here, Manhattan.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Quervo me you mk pregame preview UFC three fourteen.
Speaker 4 (01:05:31):
Conse what about the person in this chair?
Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
Ah?
Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
What about them? Who's it going to be an unshowered
piece of shit?
Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Okay, we got there. It is all right. Let's keep
this show on the tracks and we'll keep it going.
So tune into that one. Thank you very much, Quervo.
Topic number four. Hey, for all the all the crap
we've been given UFC of late of not signing Vakita
or Paul Hughes or what have you in the larger
European scene, they did sign Chaiasikara recently, and now the
(01:05:59):
U has added once again former flyweight title challenger Kyogi
Horra Gucci. Horra Gucci announced he has relinquished the Risin
or Risen man. I can't figure that one.
Speaker 4 (01:06:11):
I don't know, No, I don't know. I never got
a good answer on that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
He is relinquishing his title to rejoin the UFC. So
look at this stage of his career, what would Horror
Gucci add to the flyweight division? And on the other
side of it, what does Rising get out of this?
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
So on the Rising side, I have to be honest,
I don't quite understand the talent sharing. Now now they
had a talent sharing proposition with Bellator that made a
little bit more sense because they would send one Archiletta
over there, but then they would get you know, they
would get people on the on the back end, Hora Gucci,
you name it. They put Horror Gucci into the tournament
for the Bantamway tournament, which was great. So that part
(01:06:48):
I get. But I haven't seen any of UFC people
go over to Rising yet.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
Maybe Riisin is just trying to be on good terms
with UFC. Maybe there'll be a future opportunity to partner
on some kind of card when they go back to Japan.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
And somewhat related to this is one Archiletta, the former
Blitzer champion who's been fighting in Risin. He came out
yesterday and said he wants to fight on the GUADALAJARAOR
card and he wants to make his UFC debut there, So.
Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
That could be well as the as El Conquistador. I'm
not sure how much the Mexicans will appreciate that, but nevertheless,
you know, I will see. But this is what I mean.
I'll be honest. I've been looking for some English language
coverage about how Risin is performing in Japan and what exactly,
not so much, what do they get out of a
talent sharing partnership? What did they get out of this partnership?
The beltar One to me, was a little bit more straightforward.
(01:07:32):
But on the UFC side, you're getting somebody who what
ten years ago, almost basically I think, fought for a
UFC title, only losing at the last second of the
fifth round to the all time best guy to ever
do it. And I know, Horr Gucci has suffered losses.
He lost to Kayasi Kora, but he avenged it. He
lost to Sergio Pettis and in Rizon he avenged it
as well. He did there hasn't been a chance to
(01:07:53):
avenge it. And he only really lost because of back control.
He didn't get beat up or something. And you know,
PATCHI Mix, who went through the Bands and Wait tournament,
is one of the best banton That guy was one
of the best Bantonwait tournament performers I'd seen in quite
some time. But in this particular case, you're getting clear
quality and depth, and what I mean by that is BC.
I actually don't think he's gonna win the title. He
(01:08:14):
has said his goal is to become the first Japanese
fighter to win a UFC title, which you have to say.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
That's wild.
Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
It's unbelievable that no Japanese fighter has won a UFC title.
If you're new to MMA, that might not sound crazy.
You have to understand in the aughts, when Pride was
at its hottest the Japanese it wasn't just that Pride was.
Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
The biggest show.
Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
The entire Japanese apparatus of MMA was enormous. Where you
had all these different shows. You had Pancrase, you had Pride,
Smack Girl, Jewels Deep, you had Shooto. I mean just
endless amounts of shows. You had tons of gyms, you had,
I mean you you couldn't swing a dead cat and
(01:08:56):
not hit some kind of top level Japanese fighter. A
lot of that went away when Pride went away. But
nevertheless there's been great you know, Japanese UFC fighters, Yuki Kondo, Hayatosakarai,
I could go.
Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
On and on.
Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
Somehow none of them have ever won a title. So Sakuraba,
Sakuraba f in the UFC, that's right, the Gracie Killer, yes,
but he became that through Pride, you know what I mean.
But the one I'm trying to make is it would
be a huge deal for somebody to be a Japanese
fighter and then win the UFC title. I find that
unlikely RUGUCI thirty four, either at flyweight or bansamweight that's
(01:09:32):
still pretty old. But BC if he stays at flyweight,
it is quality and depth to the rest of the roster,
where guys like Erseg don't have to get thrust to
the front of the division over and over and over
again because you've got more kind of mid to high
level ranking quality that you can call upon to fill
(01:09:53):
some of these slots. And I think that's going to
relieve a lot of pressure on guys like Ersag and
the UFC more broadly, to say nothing of the fact
that yes, he in fact could win a title on
top of.
Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
It, Oh, definitely he could. He has a history with Osakar.
Would they fight twice?
Speaker 4 (01:10:06):
I think so, yeah, and they split him right. Yeah,
he got knocked out the first time, but then he
came back and being.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Are we going to be looking at a trilogy potential
in Japanese soil or the UFC won't do that? Oh?
Is that question should be big.
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
Here's the thing. You could book that fight in the US.
Would the US audience even appreciate it?
Speaker 5 (01:10:21):
Now?
Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
I don't know, no, but this is what I mean.
Maybe the UFC has designs also on going back to
Japan to do a show. And if they do, now
you've got a stable of some of the better, more known,
well known guys. And in the case, you're mentioning something
of a rivalry that you could also plug in to
headline or put put onto the car.
Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
He fought anybody that's in the UFC top fifteen right now.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
So let's look at the rankings as it stands. So
you've got Pantojia. I don't think he's fought him. You've
got Rouville, Moreno, Albazi, KKF, Tyroe.
Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
He thought the older generation that's.
Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Tyro kopp Perez Ambalayav. Look that up.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Let's hear let's see from a fifteen. So let's Hearrucci's statement.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Here doesn't happy to report.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
That people are happy for his new challenge and going
to the u f C does He's getting strength from
it to a motive was unable to win a belt.
That's so true, you know, says he wants to carry
(01:11:36):
the people's feelings on his shoulders as he goes into
his fight. Yeah, interesting, very interesting stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
I'm looking up and down his record, so it would
be a lot of fresh matchups here, which which could
get fun. He fought, Yeah, you mentioned he fought Sergio
Pettison belts. Who are you think Sergia Pettes sends up
back in the UF. He's still he's still kind of
got it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Right, I don't know where he's headed. That's a great question.
Speaker 1 (01:11:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:11:58):
All right, you guys think Gucci fights a flyweight or
bandam waight or what because he's boys with pantosia.
Speaker 12 (01:12:03):
So they're not going to fight each other for the belt?
Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Bullshit?
Speaker 7 (01:12:06):
I mean they might fight each other, dude, they're like
forget that. They train at ATT and a lot of
people train there. They're like direct training partners. Yeah, before
a belt. Do you think he's he's literally coming here.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
To be a champion.
Speaker 12 (01:12:16):
I'm asking what you think.
Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
I don't know. I think he's I think he's gonna
be what you know, like a dual citizen.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:12:23):
If there's a big opportunity at bantamweight, he'll take it. Yeah,
there's a big opportunity at one twenty five. That's where
he'll be.
Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
Man, can we get PATCHI mix in here and we'll
just rematch them at.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Bandon, I'm telling you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
And on PFL. Can we get Corey Anderson out of
PFL jail too?
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
And Pico. Yeah, by the way, PFL starts this week. Interesting?
Did you see it? Did you see for their Bansomwaight
tourn Attorney. I think they only have three of the
original names. Everybody else fell out.
Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
I know there's I mean, that's what happens when you
have tournaments that are worthless of meaningless that are going nowhere. Hey,
can we have this tweet here from Hora Gucci Luke?
What is going on here?
Speaker 4 (01:12:55):
So obviously you can see the Japanese has been translated.
This was him at Rising if you could take the
lower third off there the thanks that's him standing next
to Sakaki Bara, who's basically like the mastermind of all
of Japanese mm A for the last you.
Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
Mean Saki Kbara, That's what I said. You said Sakaki
and added kind of like the I.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Didn't mean to I mean, I meant Sakaki Bara.
Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
Let's they say it, Sakkara saki. Where is the fucking
look that up?
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
Am I saying it wrong?
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
You're saying sakaki. It's saki kabara. I thought, can you
look that up? No, there's no looking up. That's how
you say. Do we have to ask your wife again?
Speaker 6 (01:13:28):
What is going on?
Speaker 8 (01:13:29):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
No, no, no, I want to see. It's all about
the spelling. It's all about the spelling.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
I announced him at that Ryan Garcia.
Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
No, I'm right, you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
It's not sakaki.
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
Yes, it is s A k A k i sakak You.
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
Know it's sokaka kabara. You're saying sakaki.
Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
Why do we turn?
Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Why did this show turn?
Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
I don't know how to pronounce Japanese, but it's it's
s A k A k I b A r a
sakaki bara.
Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
No cock key bar stop cocky, it's no more cocky.
Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
Cock sakkhak key barkakakeyara sakaki bara.
Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
I'm just putting emphasis in different places, but I'm not
introducing wrong letters either way. Put the tweet up very quickly.
If you can't, sorry about that long on Luk So
it's him, it's it's hor Gucci standing next to him,
and he's basically saying, you know, I'm I'm announcing I'm
going to the UFC. I want to thank President UFC
President Dana White, and I'm going for Saka Kibara, Yes
for encouraging me, and then the fans and all the
(01:14:20):
support as the Rise of Champion, which by the way,
he had to relinquish his rise In Flyweight title to
do it. I'll be going for the belt with the
p of the first Japanese to do so, Japanese fighter,
and then he thanks everyone as well. He announced it
formally to the audience there in Japan, which which they
seemed receptive to.
Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
You mentioned there's a partnership, So is rise In getting
paid to release him.
Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
This is what I'm trying to understand again, the belt
or one with Scott Cocher, I really understood. I don't
quite get there the terms of this one at all.
Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
I'm happy for it. You have to be happy for it.
This is a great pick up.
Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
I think more integration with UFC and other shows can
only be good for consumers.
Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
Yeah, can you integrate with PFL so we can get
these fighters. Seriously, let's transition to topic number five right here,
we're going to go into the sport of boxing. There
we're a bunch of fights that were kind of interesting
over the weekend. Shut up by the way to Mikaela
Mayer and Sandy Ryan and that all Action rematch. But
this one's about the future. We know that the TKO
takeover is coming. Turkey Ala Chic, Dana White, Nick con
(01:15:17):
all that and then some. But what about the remaining
powers that be Well, if you talk to Top Ranked
Chairman Bob Aerm, there could be a future where two
of the five traditional boxing powers could be teaming up
in the future, and that's Top Rank and that's Al
Hayman's PBC. Let's hear from Bob Aram first about the intentions.
Speaker 15 (01:15:37):
But you know, as far as Frank Davis is concerned,
I think.
Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
That more and more we're talking with BBC and we'll be.
Speaker 15 (01:15:52):
Making fights with That is part of you know, Turkey
Chic and the new is part of that.
Speaker 4 (01:16:02):
Prompting you guys to work together more when in the
past you may not happen.
Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
That is correct good.
Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
So that's this competition in the marketplace is a good thing.
Speaker 9 (01:16:11):
Kind of yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:16:12):
Yeah, So this is.
Speaker 1 (01:16:14):
Where I question how early this TKO thing was announced
because it was a middle finger to all those promoters
who are taking the Turkey money right now and putting
on you know, riadd says in or ring magazine cards.
But they all now have to fight for their own future,
and you're seeing that. I had a feature this past
week on CBS Sports about Jake Paul's most valuable promotions
in the fact that they're raising a ton of capital
(01:16:35):
and are willing to work with some of these other promoters. Luke,
I will say this the next twelve to you know,
eighteen months in boxing, which have already been on fire
because of the Saudi Arabia money. We have to give
them credit for that. There's been big matchup after big matchup,
But competition is ultimately what fuels the best fights to
happen and the fans to be excited. I always point
back to twenty thirteen when Floyd Mayweather, Al Hayman and
(01:16:58):
all the fighters that would eventually make up PBC see
a few years later left the traditional power in the
States of HBO went over to Showtime, and those two
networks dueled in that twenty thirteen calendar year with show
after show that was just the light to the fans.
I think there could be that future here, especially if
these old guard are now saying, look, we want to
keep American boxing strong. We might have to work together
(01:17:21):
to do this. So there's some rumors out there that
if Tank rematches a Roach in June that we could
end up seeing, for example, Stephen Fulton Junior and Oshaki
Foster on that undercard, which is a PBC fighter against
a top rank fighter. Let's have a fun little breakdown here.
You and I both put together if the future of TKO,
(01:17:41):
and I'm sorry, if PBC and Top Rank working together
means there could be some really fun matchups for fans.
You and I separate. We didn't show each other our list,
put together the top five fights we would want to
see as boxing fans. Why don't you introduce.
Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Yours, Luke, I don't know how good mine's going to be.
And one of these guys, I'm not entirely sure as
a PBC guhya. I know that they have been PBC guy,
I'm not sure what their current status is. How do
you want to do this long island, Luke? Because I
know we have a full on screen list.
Speaker 12 (01:18:06):
Let's just reveal them all and then you could talk through.
Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
All right, here we go. Let's let's take a look
at my list if we can. So here's mine BC.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
So the number one fight introducing, so i'll.
Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
Start five to one. Sure, So number five, Mark Muxio
taking on Oshaki Foster. Now, Foster used to be a
PBC guy, is now a top rank guy. But Mark
Mexio has been a PBC guy, so that's that's more.
Speaker 1 (01:18:26):
Mexio was a former title holder at twenty six. Foster
has a belt right now at one thirty. So okay,
but I feel like but it could happen.
Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
It could happen. Yes, Next, Xander Zias taken on Sebastian Fundora,
which there's already been.
Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
Rumors Zias is the mandatory for one of Fendora's two
titles at fifty.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
Four, and it does seem like there might be some
institutional will to make this one happen. A few different directions.
You could go from here this, but I'm gonna go
Emanuel Navarette taking on Stephen Fulton Junior, which would just
be an absolute motherfucking bet.
Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
So the idea of Fulton fighting Foster would suggest that
Fulton's willing to go up to third, even though he
has a title at twenty six. Now were at a
long time or current title holder at one thirty.
Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
That would be an interesting magic all right, then easy
call BC Tank Davis taking on Keishawn Davis. Oh my god,
that would probably be number one on most people's list.
Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Yeah, it's egregious that you have that number one right
above this. This is this is John Jones, Robert w
Come on, it's not that bad. It's not that bad.
Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
I love Caleb Plant, I have I I oh yeah.
I initially was like Kayleb Plant versus him, excuse me,
not Homeymonghia Edgar Burlanga, which is the one I really
want to see. But as I understand it, BC Burlonga
is a promotional free agent as it stands today, right, yes,
do you have any sense about where he might sign,
like if you had.
Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
Wrote a feature about it. I interviewed him last week
and wrote a feature about his future. He said he's
willing to talk to Turkey, willing to talk to Jake
Paul's MVP, but he identified three matchups that he wants most.
One is Heimi Moongia, okay, Two is Caleb Plant. Three
is Jermal Charlow. But I think the Plant one supersedes
that because of the trash talk. Now, in the last
twenty four hours, Berlanga put out a video ripping Plant
(01:19:57):
and saying you're not the A side on the A side,
send me a contract, blah blah blah, and Plant responded
at the fights on Saturday and kind of was just like,
if you want to fight me, like, let's fight, like like,
I'm not going to do this back and forth dancing.
So yeah, it would probably need Berlina to sign with PBC,
But if you think about it, he could get the
Charlo and the Plant fight and maybe BENEFITAZ if he's
willing to move up to seventy five so or David Morrel.
(01:20:19):
So I think PBC would give him the most amount
of options for a multi fight deal.
Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
Yeah, so Caleb Plant versus himI Mungia, we would.
Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
I just can't believe you like that better than Davis
versus Davis.
Speaker 4 (01:20:29):
I definitely. I can't say that I actually do, but
I just love the idea of Caleb Plant's options.
Speaker 1 (01:20:40):
I suppose, like a weird way to describe that.
Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
I definitely am not like stupid enough to be like, oh,
it's smaller than you know, it's bigger, ecuse me, than
Davis versus h Well Keishon Davis versus Davonte Davis. But
that's obviously the biggest one you could make, I think
on any weight class. But I was a little bit
tough on this one because I was like, where do
we go with? Like can I use Faa Jagba against
any PBC heavyweight? I don't know who that would be
or even Yeah, the problem is you have ten Corez.
(01:21:04):
I don't know if that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Either, Tyson Fury on top rank, but there's no huge
PBC heavyweight at the moment. You have Nio in Away
on top rank, but there's no huge PBC.
Speaker 4 (01:21:14):
Twenty of heavyways at BBC.
Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
So has Cary Russell Junior said that he would be
willing to fight in a way at one thirty, but
he also said he may never fight again because of
the shoulder.
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
And also in a way apparently it's close to signing
up with Mr John Akmadaliev. I saw that this morning
as well. Yes, yes, all right, So independent of the
ranking itself, the five fights that I listed Plant Mungia, Davis, Davis, Navarete, Fulton, Zayas, Fundora,
Maxio Foster.
Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
What do you think I'll give you a seven out
of ten. I like a lot of these matchups, but
I think you let left a little bit on the table.
Then you'll go your list. Your list should be better
than well, let's see what I came up with. It's
no in a way and no fury, but check this out.
Number five is Stephen Fulton Junior chaking On Carrington so
Bruce Hushu. Carrington scored a big knockout on Saturday and
(01:21:57):
called out three of the champions in his division. Rafa Espinoza,
Stephen Fulton Junior and Ball from Nick Ball from the
UK and live right here ready and that would indicate
that he's ready to fight for a title Fulton Carrington.
Even though it feels too early for.
Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
Shu, she would be a way.
Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
He's the one who's saying that's that's number five. Number
four would be Vassili Lomachenko defending his IBF lightweight title.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Okay, against questions, I did not include Lomachenko because I
thought he was fucking returned.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
No, there's rumors that that he wants that or not rumored.
There's the feeling that after some time off he'd be
willing now they haven't stripped him of the title, so
there's some feeling that after time off he'd be willing
to come back. And I know that if Bull Cruz
fought his last two at one, But would you not
agree after him losing to ol ryle vans Way at
one and then being in that shootout with the next
with the what's the guy's name on hell Fierro that
(01:22:48):
one thirty five is a better division.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
It's a much better division.
Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
Would you not? Would you not be entertained by Pipple
versus Loma? That's my number four.
Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
I'm not hating. I love your list, not just I
didn't know we had Lomachenko at the ready.
Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Number three Heyo Femo Lopez and Gary Antoine Russell in
a one hundred and forty pound title unific.
Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
Lopez has got one fight left on his deal, doesn't he.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
Okay, but he's a current top rank fighter, so I
think that's legal, right. You went with a list that
access He says he has one fight left, Top rank
believes he has multi So there's a debate.
Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
Okay, I wasn't aware of that. I mean, let me
be clear, Lopez versus Russell, fucking love it, I think,
although I think Lopez is two athletic for him right now.
Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
It'd be interesting. Number two no title, let's stake at
the moment, but top rank promotes Arthur Better Beev David
Benavidez is an interim title at one set five great call.
There is a situation where obviously Turkey wants the bev
All Better be Of trilogy, and now Eddie Hern, the
promoter of Bevall and his manager are both saying that
they're willing to drop one of the four titles in
order to make that trilogy. Imagine if that title becomes
(01:23:47):
vacant and then you have Benavida's fight Calm Smith for it,
and then imagine win or lose in the trilogy if
Better Bev and Benavida's fight, dude, that is must see
pay per view.
Speaker 4 (01:23:57):
Team totally agree.
Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
And then number one coming into this year that the
fight I wanted above all in boxing was Tank Davis
versus Shaker Stevenson.
Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
But after what.
Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
Keishaw Davis did to win the title against Barent Chick
and the run he's on, I said, I'd be willing
to subb in Keishawan if he's willing. Imagine Davis versus Davis.
It's funny. Bob Aram also was quoted this weekend and saying,
I need to talk to Tank. He needs to keep fighting,
he needs to get refocused. That leads me to believe
that they want to do big business together.
Speaker 4 (01:24:23):
Right yeah, I mean I'm glad we only had one overlap.
I definitely see BC's list one more time. So number five,
I don't like number four. I like, yes, number three
to me. Number three's badass Taylor female against Gary Ko
Russell fight so infrequently.
Speaker 1 (01:24:41):
No, that's Gary Russell Junior. This is Gary Antoine Russell,
the one who.
Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
This is Antoine Russell. This is his brother.
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
No, his brother hasn't fought in forever. It is a
one twenty six fighter. This is two. This is two
one hundred and forty pound champions doing doing it.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Yes, yes, yes, Okay, So this is this is the younger.
Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
Brother, the one who just put on that clinic.
Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
Okay, now I'm all in love that one. I mean,
what can I even say about the top two?
Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
I mean, the second one is the biggest fight you
can make between them. May in terms of.
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
Your number one and your number two are definitely the
two biggest fights they can make. I don't even know
what else who would.
Speaker 1 (01:25:12):
I'm okay if you if you could make tank in
a way, but in anyway, it's not jumping up to lightweight.
Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Let me ask a question. How big of a fight?
Not like I'm not saying it's better than better Beev
and Benavidez, but like, give me your sense of imagine
somehow they signed whoever top rank. I know he was
a no Buongio. I'm sorry. I know Burlonga used to
be with them, but let's say he just went back
for whatever. How big of a fight is Caleb Plant
versus Edgar Burloga.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
I think it's pretty big for boxing hardcore. Is it's
huge because it's a grudge match, then that's that fuels
it so much. It's an interesting clash in terms of
their styles and abilities. I don't think it would be
commercial through the roof, But could you make it a
pay per view main event with a good undercard? I
think you could.
Speaker 4 (01:25:55):
Okay, you could, yeah, okay, your list is better than
mine for sure, But I had a couple of little
bangers in there come a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
Definitely did what I want? Plant Mongia hell.
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
To think the three of the three that we differed, well,
there's four we different but the three other ones Navarette, Fulton, Zias, Fundora,
Maxio Foster. Which one do you like those the most?
Speaker 1 (01:26:13):
Say the three?
Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
Navarette, Fulton, Zius, Fundora, Maxio Foster.
Speaker 1 (01:26:18):
Zias Ferndora. That was my number six on this Oh okay, yeah, yeah,
that is a hell of a fight. I tried to
get creative and find a fight for Aerrel Spence, you know,
maybe against Teo Fema. I mean, there's a couple of
things you can do. Yeah, Tayo fem has been talking
about going to fifty four forever even though he's a
title holder at forty. So that's interesting, all right. With
our five topics behind us here, what we do every
Sunday night is we put a call to action on
(01:26:38):
social media.
Speaker 4 (01:26:39):
Of have a quick correction, not correction, but a update. Yes,
our friend of the show, Rodrigo del Campo Gonzalez, I'm
saying that like a gringo. He tagged us and he says, hey,
Luke NBC Diego Lopez one hundred. But I don't know
if you know who Rodrigo del Campo Gonzalez is. He's
maybe one of the foremost Mexican broadcasters for getting played
(01:27:02):
by playing whatnot. And obviously he has covered MMA extensively,
he says. Diego Lopez one represents Mexico, has lived and
trained here for a decade, fought most of his career here,
owns a gym and trains fighters here. Beloved by most
fans here, and has ties with Guadalajara since he's been
coaching Grosso and al Donna.
Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
Excellent. You go the roots do go deep right there?
Would he be okay in a title fight headlining NOCE, Yeah, yeah,
I think he would. I think he'd be fine, especially
against Yia good Lord on that one.
Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
W'd be a sick fight.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
We want to hear from you, So every Sunday night
at morning Combat on X on Instagram, we put out
the call to hear your questions. But they better be
good and you better not have some weird user tag
that we can make fun of. This one's called DMS
from dogs.
Speaker 4 (01:27:47):
That's booty Eater sixty nine says, all.
Speaker 1 (01:27:50):
Right, let's get the first one here from Henry Ocon.
What annoys Luke Moore When people in the crowd of
UFCR woo Rick Flair style, or when people are chouting,
shouting cheweewees and by the way, definite. By the way,
Luke ESPN had like a full feature about chewee Wee's
(01:28:12):
before the Raoul Rosas.
Speaker 4 (01:28:14):
That's that hard hitting journalism when we come to expect.
Speaker 1 (01:28:17):
I enjoyed it. Look, there's there's cringe potential for that
thing to get old fast? Are we there yet? On
chewe Wee's. I know you hate wu more than anything.
Speaker 4 (01:28:24):
I hate more than any.
Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
Where are we at? Because I love Chewey's. But then
when I watched that feature, then when I saw ROAs
Sas kind of force it in the post fight interview
of doing the one two three like at the sphere,
it was awesome. Is it jumping the shark already or
we still have time?
Speaker 4 (01:28:38):
I'm fairly neutral on chewe Wee's. I don't love or
hate it. It's it's whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:28:42):
What does it sound like to you? Like, do you
think he we shouldn't voice stuff like this? But do
you think that's his call to action on the on
the finish in real life too?
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
Do you think he bustsing that and goes chee wee weeed, No,
don't do that. Wooing is the worst and people who
wou MMA events should be beaten with batons, and that
paces a wave.
Speaker 1 (01:29:04):
The wave is the worst thing ever. I don't mind.
Speaker 4 (01:29:07):
I don't do the wave, but I don't mind the waves.
Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
How could you not mind the wave?
Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
So just fucking ignore it?
Speaker 1 (01:29:12):
Can't you ignore the wooing?
Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
No? No, these these low level primates throwing their feces
like howler monkeys at the zoo.
Speaker 1 (01:29:20):
It's like just them taking part of the excite.
Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
No, it's them making it all about themselves. That's different,
totally different.
Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
Obviously you don't have experience watching pro wrestling because that's
what a crowd does. And the only good thing about that, No.
Speaker 4 (01:29:31):
I feel like the crowd works in unison with the art,
with the performer.
Speaker 1 (01:29:35):
The good thing about the only good thing about pro
wrestling crowds is they will voice critically, like if if
the company is pushing someone that they don't want, they
will boo the whole time. They will put on the
chances that are negative, and that is telling the company
we do not stand for you.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
No, no, no, I've seen I've definitely seen clips where Stone
Cold was like and I had one beer. Yeah, yeah,
that's but it's all that's like a call in response.
Everyone's working together. That's different than that, I'm just a
dumb piece of shit who sat in a seat. I'm
gonna make it all about me by fucking screaming in
an arena. These are losers. These are fucking losers who.
Speaker 1 (01:30:10):
Do okay, Thank you very much. Let's go to our
second question from Z Period Firm FRM period ESP whatever
that that means. Would you rather see Joaquin Buckley or
Ian Machado Gary step up with Jeff Neil being out
of his fight against Carlos Practice. So if anyone doesn't
know that loaded three fourteen card of Miami still loaded,
(01:30:32):
Carlos Practice his fight, who was his original Jeff Hil
Neil's what injured or sick?
Speaker 4 (01:30:36):
I'm not sure exactly why.
Speaker 1 (01:30:37):
And protest basically teased that the UFC's gonna take care
of him. He's gonna have a bigger announcement. So if
that bigger announcement was either Ian Gary or Joaquin Buckley,
which one would you want it to be, Because that'd
be they'd be a banger fight.
Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
Either way it would be, it would be great. Either way.
I would prefer Buckley. I prefer Buckley Okay, he's a
little bit more advanced in his career. He did take
a fight on relatively I mean, I don't know if
the Colby fight came together relatively short right, because he
was supposed to fight Gary himself and then the wole
thing and then but he won and Gary had to
(01:31:10):
take the rockmanof fight on short notice, and it didn't.
We obviously performed well enough.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
But it was the biggest win of Gary's career.
Speaker 4 (01:31:15):
Yeah, I mean in a loss.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
Else tell me it wasn't tell me it was. I
just did.
Speaker 4 (01:31:22):
But the point is, here's the difference.
Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Can he's put some respect on the number three pound
for pund Walter way on my list?
Speaker 4 (01:31:26):
Well, here's the thing he's not. He's twenty seven years old.
I don't want him taking a bunch of short notice fights.
Sorry number two. Yeah, you know what I mean. I
don't want to take in a bunch of short notice fights.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
Let him. He took.
Speaker 4 (01:31:36):
He took the opponent of short notice. And now it's
time to kind.
Speaker 1 (01:31:39):
Of retool a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Whereas I feel like Buckley can step on the gas
at this stage of his career, I'd prefer Buckley.
Speaker 1 (01:31:44):
It isn't Proctice out of the top ten, and these
are two guys in it. Shouldn't shouldn't Gary fight Buckley,
which was an original matchup that almost.
Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
Had I'd be happy with that too long.
Speaker 1 (01:31:52):
Look, do you have any opinion on this?
Speaker 7 (01:31:53):
I agree I'd rather see Buckley, just because I think
I and Gary actually has his way with Protest, where
I feel like Buckley's a way more competitive.
Speaker 12 (01:32:00):
Fight and I like Carlos Protest. I want him to win.
Speaker 4 (01:32:02):
So I'd rather.
Speaker 1 (01:32:03):
Protest Morales or would you be eliminating two potential future guys.
Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Is fighting Gilbert Burns and like Michael Morales, which is
a sick ass fight.
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
That is a sick ass fight. All right, interesting stuff
right there. It's not gonna be wonder Boy, right or
something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:32:18):
Please No, I don't know. I don't know what they're
gonna do with him.
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
All right, there we go. Let's go to number three.
This is from Azy Ray Videos. Our guy Urturo, by
the way, Luke from Mexico lives in the UK and
he was in our receiving line at the London Life.
Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
Yeah sick all right.
Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
Shout out to that guy right there, who is your
favorite Mexican fighter? In both boxing and MMA. He doesn't
say all time are current, but if we're going all
time for me and boxing Elter Morales, Morales massive.
Speaker 4 (01:32:43):
I will say, dude, it's cool to see JCC at
these MMA events. Yes, like and he's received like a
fucking hero, which of course he should be. Right, It's cool, Like,
don't get me wrong. Sometimes I like boxing and MMA rivalry,
but then I like it when the boxing greats like
kind of pay respect by showing up to UFC events
and then like the crowd loves them.
Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
So cool to see JCC. Do you have a Mexican
boxing hero, whether it be Marco Antonio Brero, Juan Manuel Marquez,
I can go on.
Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
It's probably it's probably Marquees because I remember what do
when Marcus flat Lion Pracchio. I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 1 (01:33:15):
You think Jave would duck Benavidez. No. Probably.
Speaker 4 (01:33:21):
You know what's kind of crazy is Chavez has to
like navigate this minefield because every time he does media,
they're always asking him, do you think Canelo's ducking and
has to be like well, so definitely I would say that.
On the m m A side, that's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
I mean it's still early ISHU would be a perfect answer.
Speaker 4 (01:33:40):
Of course, you're still dealing with basically the first big
generation of Mexican fighters, And are we.
Speaker 1 (01:33:45):
Just qualifying Mexican American fighters from this conversation.
Speaker 4 (01:33:48):
I don't know how to answer that question, Like, how
do you this.
Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
Arcane? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:33:52):
Yeah, do those guys count? I mean, they certainly are Mexican,
but they're also Americans. If you're talking like direct Mexican nationals,
probably Moreno.
Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Pro He's so lovable I think is the right word.
Speaker 4 (01:34:03):
But if we're counting Mexican Americans that, I'm going to
count Kane for sure. I'm going to count Kane.
Speaker 1 (01:34:08):
Yeah. Absolutely, still at the peak for peak, the best
heavyweight I've ever seen? Still or like, do you mean
or would Prime and gone and crush him?
Speaker 4 (01:34:16):
I still say no, Prime, I think Prime Kane is
maybe the most terrifying heavyweight I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
Thank you, thank you, and on the streets potentially.
Speaker 4 (01:34:24):
Well, I mean that's a whole different story.
Speaker 1 (01:34:25):
Kay, Let's go to the fourth one here from Styx
plays time. What or when is the most excited you've
been watching combat sports? So I would assume I'm gonna
assume this question is like coming in pre fight or
is it in the moment or what is it? Because
if it's coming in pre fight UFC one sixteen, Brock
versus Carwin was just it just that build was Hogan Andre.
Speaker 4 (01:34:48):
Dude, it like and Brock getting the ship yeah out
of him in that first round was.
Speaker 1 (01:34:54):
And then rallying back although Carwin's guest tank.
Speaker 4 (01:34:57):
Just that's a big one. Silva so on in two,
Silva soon in one for me coming into really yeah,
because he had picked that fight and you know, Son
and you kind of thought was like, oh, he might
perform well, but he'll fade, you know like everybody else
does against Silva. And then you're like four and a
half rounds in you're like, oh fuck, he's going to
do this. Then he doesn't do it, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
He bigbib Connor the biggest fight in my.
Speaker 4 (01:35:19):
History, you know, dude. How about Connor Porty where I
was like, oh my god, you know in.
Speaker 1 (01:35:24):
Terms of post result, that's that's your number one.
Speaker 4 (01:35:27):
That's a big one. I'm heading into it. Okay. So
a fight week Spence Crawford was like, I mean pins
and needles, bro pins and needles on that one that.
Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
Was triple g Canello the lead in coming out of there,
John Jones Cormier two. Yeah, yes, one of the great call.
Totally great call.
Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
And by the way, Kane's comeback did not feel that
way like by the time King was getting to Francis
and Ghan and I was like, I don't know how
this is going to go. But also in the in
the moment fade or getting triangle choked by farcient doom
was like earth shattering.
Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
Absolutely, was there a moment of a fight heading in
that you were the most excited you ever were? Was it?
Jones Cormick's Jones Cormet too.
Speaker 4 (01:36:08):
I say that all the time.
Speaker 7 (01:36:09):
Literally, the promo for that fight is the best MMA
promo I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (01:36:13):
Connor two O five, Rousey's UFC debut. These are all
pretty fucking big moments. Man.
Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
The I don't know, even though again I wasn't in
the MGM grand at UFC one ninety six. I was
in the press room next to it because we had
already had enough ESPN people in the arena. The sound
I heard the feeling of the ground shaking when Connor tapped.
Is it actually before Connor tap? You remember when you
noticed that he was guessed. Remember that when he shot
that moment when it turned that rumble of like yeah
(01:36:41):
was something I'll never forget.
Speaker 4 (01:36:43):
That feeling was just insane.
Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
Sane man.
Speaker 4 (01:36:45):
Can you imagine being Nate in that moment? It's fucking
it's like hard to imagine, like what that must be like.
Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
Finally, from a guy who's here every damn week flannels
and JITs, I mean, do you think this guy is employed?
Speaker 4 (01:36:56):
No, this guy's of you know, this guy is we
need guys. He's on somebody's watch list. I don't know
it's the neighborhood watch list or somebody else.
Speaker 1 (01:37:02):
So we're not gonna ring ten. But what are the
go to fights?
Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
Lucaf you have a great answer for this.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
The new fan said, Pride Strikeforce or wec era non
UFC fights. What's the go to here?
Speaker 4 (01:37:12):
I think there are three events you should watch in Pride,
and there's other ways to go.
Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
He's saying fights.
Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
He's saying fights, right, But so so he counted ten.
So let me get through this and I'll show you
how you get to ten. One is you should watch
fateor versus Krokop, which I think was like Final Conflict.
Two thousand and four, one of the best heavyweight five,
one of the best heavyweight title fights still to this day,
and the anticipation leading y Yes, twenty years later, it
still holds up. That's rare in MMA. That's the first
(01:37:38):
thing I'd say. Here's real easy. If you've never seen it,
you should watch Showguns March through the Middleweight tournament. They
call it middleweight, but it's light heavyweight. It's one of
the it's no, it's the best performance by an MMA
fighter in any tournament in MMA history. Watch the whole
tournament and watch him just mow these motherfuckers down. And
then my recommendation, watch Pride body Blow. So this is
(01:38:01):
when Fador fought Nogara for the first time. He was
a big underdog. This was a huge shock. But this
is also Rampage Jackson versus Kevin Randallman. This was I
think it was. Was it Oyama versus Silva? I think
that's no, No, yeah, I think that's right. I'll have
to look here. Hold on, let me pull up the card.
Pride body Blow. Uh, yes, Pride twenty five. So here's
(01:38:24):
on who's on that card. As I mentioned, top fad
Or versus Nogara Rampage versus Kevin Randleman, which was a
fucking awesome fight. You will, guys want to know who
Nino Shembri is. But Nino Shembrie versus Kazushasakaraba Nino Shembri won,
which was a gigantic upset.
Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
Is this your Ronalo and bus Routman on all these cools?
Speaker 4 (01:38:41):
I think I might've been quadros at this point. But
it was bozz Dan Henderson versus Shumgo Oyama, which is
a cool fight. Oh this this is right? How about
Anderson Silva absolutely fucking icing Carlos Newton. That's a big
one on this one as well. And then to some
other ones, Akira shog beating Alex Steebling. Steveling had called
himself the Brazilian killer. That didn't do him any favors.
He didn't do great after that. And then also little
(01:39:03):
nog was on this one against kaza Hiro Yaka. Excuse me,
Cauzo Hero Nakamura. But the top of that card Jackson
random and a million Ako, Nogera, Henderson Oyama and then
Silva Carlos Newton. Holy fucking shit.
Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
Watching the go to Strikeforce ones are very easy, Okay,
Paul Daily versus Nick Diaz. Then you got Dan Hendo
versus Fador.
Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
About all time strike Force.
Speaker 1 (01:39:25):
Yeah, they want to know the Strikeforce from that era
of Pride Strikeforce in w e C that new fans
haven't seen. These are the fights you need to watch.
You need to watch for Doom tapping fad Or and
the how about.
Speaker 4 (01:39:37):
This the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
I watched Cormier's run through that. I was there when.
Speaker 4 (01:39:40):
Fador got bodied by uh Bigfoot Silva, which nobody was
expecting at that point. I was a huge one.
Speaker 1 (01:39:46):
Watch a couple of those. Scott Smith come back.
Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
That's a great one. If you've never seen kung Le
versus Frank Shamrock, or more to the point, if you've
never seen Cormier versus Josh Barnett Cormier versus Josh Barnett,
I dare you to watch that and tell me what
UFC heavyweight fight has been better than that one recently.
And we're talking these are fights that aired a quite
a long time ago. Also on Strikeforce, of course, Rowsey
(01:40:12):
versus Tape Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
The first one. So many reversals on the.
Speaker 4 (01:40:16):
Ground, which was a big one there as well. If
you're looking for WEC if you've never seen the title
run of Mike Thomas Brown. Mike Brown, who now is
a famous coach. Dude Mike Brown, when he hit Leonard Garcia,
it's one of my favorite knockouts. He hits Leonard Garcia
with I believe a left hand that is so hard
you can watch Garcia leave his feet.
Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
He's this diminutive coach that they call Mikey. Yet Mike
Mike Thomas Brown was a he iced favor, just ice
the shit.
Speaker 4 (01:40:41):
When when people look at like Jose Aldo beating Brown,
it looks pretty straightforward. You're like, well, how good was Brown?
Speaker 1 (01:40:48):
Dude?
Speaker 4 (01:40:48):
Brown was fucking awesome, and then Aldo goes in there
and just smokes him.
Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
You couldn't believe it.
Speaker 4 (01:40:54):
Pa Kena Nogara, by the way, obviously was one of
I think al those debut.
Speaker 1 (01:40:57):
If you had to pick one WEC fight, wouldn't you
pick this Henderson one?
Speaker 4 (01:41:01):
You take Pettis Henderson one. I got a deep cut
for you. Carlos conovers is Hero Mitsumura, which was an
absolute dog fight from beginning to and do WC had
some fucking bank.
Speaker 1 (01:41:13):
Harris was good on that back then. Who Todd Harris,
Frank mir was pretty good too.
Speaker 4 (01:41:17):
It's a commentator, and then Frank Meer says he wanted
to be the first guy to have a kill in
the octagon and they removed him from that.
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
You thank you for your questions, folks. You really got
Luke excited and that's the goal on this so thank
you very much. We got one more segment for you.
It's the same. It's the segment designed to make Luke
Thomas emo in very uncomfortable ways as I scoured the
globe every Sunday for the highs and lows, the good,
the bad, the ugly in the worlds of combat sports
and beyond this one's called have you seen this? Have
(01:41:44):
you seen? I think I shipped my pants on the
last h That's a Dennis.
Speaker 4 (01:41:56):
L butter sausage. Why are we talking about buttered sausage?
Get it out of the fencebusing.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
That was a Dennis Larry bit about Elvis, which he
probably stole from Bill Hicks. All right, Luke, let's go
to xFC fifty two in Iowa City. This is you
on the call. Jaren Lathrup. Did I say that right?
Speaker 4 (01:42:11):
Jaron?
Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
Jaron Lathup? This is the dude's pro debut. And watch
this Jaron laith throwing a high volume like Shakarewski for
the most part, has had an answer.
Speaker 4 (01:42:23):
We'll call the kicks. And by the way, prior to this,
let me let me just say this, don't bury your
own calling.
Speaker 14 (01:42:40):
What that was like Buckley spending in Pakasanka, Knive to
the Land.
Speaker 1 (01:42:46):
Of Wind and ghost due. Great call, what a beautiful highlight,
what a moment? Great call? Yeah once once you know,
everyone's screaming over each other, but then it laid out.
Luke delivered the sound bike great moment.
Speaker 4 (01:43:00):
So thank you so much. Also, that guy has an
interesting story. So Lathrop lost his amateur debut then rattled
off twelve wins in a row. This was his pro debut,
and I was like, dude, I've watched a lot of
pro debuts. They don't go that well. That's unelievable. But
the other part too, is that kid uh Shinkerewski. You
can't see it from this highlight. He was doing awesome.
(01:43:21):
He had hurt leythripped twice to the body in this fight.
He is, by the way, two on r he was
two and oh when I was two and one he
is over at fight ready he got Henry shud already
for song, you dong. He was cruising in this fight
and then let his guard down for a fucking instance.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
And so you said you called an amateur fight like
off camera already. One. That's the first fight you called
officially an XFCRE That's the first one. Yeah, what a moment.
It must have just like kicked charged the whole name.
Speaker 4 (01:43:48):
Yeah. Yeah, I couldn't believe it, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
I was so happy you told me in the main
event to watch out for a gentleman named Kenny Cross
who could be a future UFC fighter if he continues
on the direction he's on. Yeah, he only needed fourteen
seconds and.
Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
Out performances for xFC in twenty twenty four, and now
he has that opportunity.
Speaker 1 (01:44:04):
We are underway in the main event of xFC fifty
two Open stance fight, So pay attention. They could be
head clashes.
Speaker 4 (01:44:11):
Pay attention hare split positioning. Yeah, I just talked about
leave foot positioning, but just nailed him to the wall
the hair too. How was that crowd? I thought it
was a great crowd, man. I mean they showed up early,
they were there the whole time. Obviously don't have the numbers.
(01:44:31):
It's regional'm Ma, you know you have to understand it
for what it is. But I thought, dude, I thought
it worked. Those people in Iowa, man, they were ready
for it. I have a feeling that UFC when they
go there, it's going to be it's the moin This
was Iowa's.
Speaker 1 (01:44:41):
Saying, that's amateur wrestling, heavenly.
Speaker 4 (01:44:43):
But dude, that kid, Kenny Cross, he's so fucking ready
for the next level. That kid, that guy he beat
was Lucas Corbagi, who's a Brazilian who lives out of Argentina,
who's a good fighter, and he got smoked in fourteen seconds.
I really hope the UFC pulls up Kenny Cross. He's ready.
Speaker 1 (01:44:58):
Oh it was great to hear you you in that chair.
You did a fantastic job. Luke Reel did recognize Reel,
as we mentioned earlier at UFC Mexico City. Check out
the great one Julio save Our Shavas Senior. Yeah man
with Chauma alex Perira. I don't understand. I mean, the
shorts in the black shoes combo is interesting, but when
you're a badass, you can wear whatever you want. Yeah,
(01:45:19):
to see these two give each other love, like this
is what we want.
Speaker 4 (01:45:22):
What I said, do anybody who's ever been a real
fight fan knows what's up with JCC here. And I
love that JCC loves MMA, Dude, I really do it. Actually,
you know it's because everyone's like, oh, Mike Tyson likes MMA.
Speaker 1 (01:45:34):
That's cool.
Speaker 4 (01:45:35):
Yeah, but a lot of boxers just don't fuck with
it at all. So to see a one who's like
a fucking national icon freaking like it is so awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
By the way, I saw j CC Junior at the
Fundoric Hard ring side, and I have to say he
looked healthy, looked in shape, look and I know he's
talking about he wants a Canolo rematch, but yeah, I'm
good on that. Okay, let's keep this fun segment going.
How about some elder abuse.
Speaker 6 (01:45:55):
Yes, that's what we do.
Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
Throw back to twenty twenty three. This is at Tree
Box in Nashville, Tennessee. Mark Abrams my boy on the call.
Fifty eight year old Scott England was making his pro
debut in boxing. When the bell rings, this man will
set the Guinness Old sec fifty professional boxer. He'll make
his pro debut in this historic fight.
Speaker 4 (01:46:19):
He was ring you to welcome this hotown legend.
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
From music city.
Speaker 4 (01:46:24):
I gotta says it was a brilliant shame stop English.
Oh he's got some You got some saggy.
Speaker 12 (01:46:31):
Old out of Hendersonville Tennis.
Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
Shit legal mother, Yeah, this is it's gonna go back right.
Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
In the rector of six.
Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
That's job.
Speaker 6 (01:46:42):
And oh god that.
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
By the way, he got knocked out for forty seven seconds.
It looked like it was two seconds, but it actually
was forty seven. Didn't it remind you of that guy
from early UFC Fred Was it Fred Edis or something
like that Fred where he was like last minute he
filled in. He was like an old career AUDI.
Speaker 4 (01:47:00):
Mastering and then he just got walked out like a
bit beat like bloody blood. That's hilarious. This is why
sixty year old men should not be fighting.
Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
All right, we got more elder abuse. This is why
old people should not go to college dorms and drink.
Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
Hey, if you and then slip in your own puke,
you you're white trash.
Speaker 1 (01:47:23):
All right, let's keep the elder abuse going.
Speaker 4 (01:47:25):
Put it on.
Speaker 9 (01:47:26):
Tell me what you hear dolose Cat.
Speaker 1 (01:47:35):
And Luke speaking of elders. This old time weather man
might want to get his prostate check.
Speaker 16 (01:47:41):
Castle.
Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
My man is just look at him, Look at my man.
It's just ejaculating everywhere.
Speaker 15 (01:47:48):
This is the best.
Speaker 4 (01:47:49):
So yeah, he's not moving. Look at Jim Lample, He's
not moving at all.
Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
It is right there, all right, Hey, Luca wise woman
once said that all you need in life is a EBC.
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 6 (01:48:04):
Oh?
Speaker 16 (01:48:06):
If you can't be in the weekend like me, and
you're not being good at sup to fen, then you
need enough big black cock. Put a big black cough.
You can be in protect yourself from anything. If you
just need to be in block, but you cock. If
somebody being attacked, you block. If somebody come to you,
all block. If somebody trying to steal your car, cock block.
Speaker 1 (01:48:26):
So being remember all you need to be in protected solf.
Speaker 6 (01:48:29):
It's a big black cough.
Speaker 16 (01:48:31):
Would never be in chocolate chicken just kissing your cock?
Speaker 4 (01:48:36):
You see if I brought my cocking, would you kiss it? All? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:48:42):
Street Fights of the Week they call this clip not
mixed martial arts, mixed partial arts. Luke you drunks, yeah,
well three drunks?
Speaker 4 (01:48:49):
Why oh oh oh oh?
Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Then I other dude, fell I.
Speaker 4 (01:49:00):
Like how three of all three of them lost to
the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:49:03):
Oh, this wasn't a street fight, but it was away
in fight. Check out what happened to b KFC.
Speaker 17 (01:49:10):
How you t I know too?
Speaker 4 (01:49:13):
No, pay, I know, I know, I don't don't touch.
Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
Can't be doing that at the scale.
Speaker 4 (01:49:32):
Oh he's gonna get.
Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
The scale, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:49:34):
BKFC has the roughest characters.
Speaker 1 (01:49:36):
Bro. Look at Seltman. He's panicking right for I don't know,
but I think we all won just for watching. Luke kit.
Don't kids say and do the darnedest things.
Speaker 4 (01:49:46):
I got one that does the cars. It's so cute.
He's got a little town to town.
Speaker 1 (01:49:57):
I mean, to be fair, I didn't see a building
seven there, Luke. But let's continue on to the show
before we lose our sponsors. Hey, here's Devin Haney up.
Speaker 8 (01:50:05):
It's true or not, but I just heard that if
you chew gum like it makes your life saw stronger.
So it's my theory is you can be able to
take punches better.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
Yeah, I don't think the gun does that.
Speaker 1 (01:50:16):
Okay, all right, I think we.
Speaker 4 (01:50:17):
Disproved the gum theory.
Speaker 1 (01:50:19):
Yeah, Luke, let's go to the women's rugby pitch where
they're always just dropping by.
Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
You get some big berthash.
Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
Icebox.
Speaker 4 (01:50:28):
Look at her, yo, yo, she lowered the fucking lord.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Yo, go. I don't know is that legal in that sport? Dude?
Speaker 4 (01:50:41):
That is?
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
I mean, I don't want to weigh in onto the
trans controversy. I'm just saying you might need a trance
person in there to compete with her. Is huge.
Speaker 1 (01:50:49):
Luke one of my favorite followers on ig. You know
that Boston be a man guy.
Speaker 4 (01:50:53):
Yeah, he's like, take a tump with your parents.
Speaker 1 (01:50:55):
Yeah, let's watch this.
Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
If your girl's having a period and she should go
to the store to get mpons, never come back. His every
one of those man things is like how to be
an abusive alcohol Absolutely, Luke.
Speaker 1 (01:51:13):
It's March madness time, so let's hit the hardwood. We
have a new spawn. It's bill Laimbeer two point zero.
Watch this breakaway, Okay, let's see if you can get it. Dude,
What the fuck? What the fuck was that? How was it?
Speaker 4 (01:51:26):
How are the other guys not swinging on him?
Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
If you're a teammate and you don't instantly go and
fight him, like, what is what are you doing.
Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
They sent that other kid, they gave him like frequent
fire miles.
Speaker 1 (01:51:36):
They gave him cte is. On top of that, let's
go to the youth basketball game. Hey, grandma, can you
walk around?
Speaker 4 (01:51:42):
Yeah? She looks barely. I gotta tell you there's a
lot of parts of Middle America where people move.
Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
Like, get the off. Get the fuck. Damn bro, they
didn't even stop the game.
Speaker 4 (01:51:52):
She doesn't give off about your game. Hey, Luke, have
you ever seen I gotta say a lot of buffets
in the midway. Yeah, also that I had Mexican food
twice in Iowa. Let me just say something. Put the
camera on me for just a second. Let me say
the Mexican restaurants in Iowa. You know they're pulling a
fast one on the gringoes. Worst Mexican food Taco El
(01:52:13):
Taco L was a major upgrade here.
Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
The be here at that time.
Speaker 4 (01:52:19):
But you're making fun of me. I'm telling you it's true.
They say certain letters softly.
Speaker 1 (01:52:22):
Look remember in the League World Series where sometimes there's
like this fat kid that's six foot two and you're like,
how is he thirteen years old?
Speaker 4 (01:52:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:52:28):
Well check out this seven foot three, thirteen year old
from Montreal.
Speaker 4 (01:52:32):
This fucking freak who drinks out of the shower.
Speaker 1 (01:52:34):
Get this motherfucker out of there. Kid, But this is
not fair. Eighth grade dude, Come on.
Speaker 4 (01:52:40):
Send him to some prison camp and get your money's worth.
Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
You can't stop this bullshit, Dude, this is bullshit.
Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
You got some genetic freak who drinks out of the
shower here playing megi.
Speaker 1 (01:52:49):
If it was Danny Almonte style. He's really like twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:52:52):
Six yeah, I mean, and he's acting like he's a baller.
You're just a big ass.
Speaker 1 (01:52:55):
Oh all right. Let's also go to your three pointer

house is on firey piece of shit, all right, Luke.
New second, it's called would you eat? Let's go to
your native country of India.
Speaker 12 (01:53:13):
Skip the car one?
Speaker 1 (01:53:15):
Oh, thank you, Long Island, Luke. Where's the car one?
Oh you're right, here's your dunk of the week. Sorry,
thank you, No cita for saking?
Speaker 4 (01:53:22):
Oh oh oh oh, maybe a little bit of a
Darwin award. Hey you know what, here's three needles to
the bag right here.
Speaker 1 (01:53:29):
Yeah, Bob, I've had that. It took away my manhood,
thank you. No Ceda. Let's now go to would you
eat Luke? This is your home country street food culture
in India. This is called a monster omelet. Would you eat?
Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
That's monster energy with a with an egg? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
Would you try it? I'm intrigued.
Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
Okay, okay, okay, enough eggs. I mean, how were you? Okay,
a lot of hands being used.
Speaker 1 (01:53:56):
I told this guy there's a wavo shortage in the
US at the moment.
Speaker 4 (01:53:59):
We didn't give a fuck.
Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
You try that, right?
Speaker 4 (01:54:02):
I don't know if I try it off the street,
all right, but I'm tempted by the idea.
Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
Let's go to the next one here. Would you eat
this flavor of doritos?
Speaker 4 (01:54:14):
I don't know how to answer that without losing my job.
Speaker 1 (01:54:18):
Okay, Hey, tip on Tippler way in boner over the week.
Speaker 4 (01:54:23):
I got some hard boys here.
Speaker 1 (01:54:26):
Yeah, this looks like the Mayweather McGregor.
Speaker 4 (01:54:31):
Do sometimes look fighting or fucking same thing?
Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
Look at the frozen rope on this brit Wow yo.
I mean the guy in the sweatpants must be like,
ask a.
Speaker 4 (01:54:40):
Question, what was the last time you got a wayward boner?
Like not in any way intending to get you.
Speaker 1 (01:54:46):
Remember, we would get those in high school, Like you'd
be sitting in history class and you'd be like looking
at a girl in the front where and be like
and then the bell rings and you're like, yeah, what
am I going to do?
Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
I gotta carry the trapper keeper in front. I don't
get you years.
Speaker 1 (01:54:57):
So it's it's less likely to happen by the day.
All right, Yeah, there you go. Hey, let's check back
in on regional m M A where you already know, Luke,
anything can happen. All right, check out this ref.
Speaker 4 (01:55:09):
What the fuck?
Speaker 5 (01:55:11):
Ah? Yo?
Speaker 4 (01:55:16):
This ref doesn't give up? God, good lord, Yo.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
What are the rules of this? Well, there's a lot
of fighters in there. This could be one of those
gimmick ones where you like in Poland where they do
like eight on eight or something that was weird.
Speaker 4 (01:55:30):
I don't know, Yeah they do. They do like gang bangs.
Speaker 1 (01:55:32):
All right? Uh, first time ever? Ko via cage fence?
Watch this? Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:55:38):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:55:39):
Who is this?
Speaker 4 (01:55:40):
What commission?
Speaker 1 (01:55:42):
The same one that booked Paul Tyson? Luke? All ok,
let's go to the boy tie ring. This regional ko
is wild, Luke. Oh do you see a soul come
out of the flow way? All right, Hey, let's go
(01:56:04):
to the outdoor concert. I got more injuries for you.
You want it front row, you got it your experience. Yeah,
it's like being going to a Gallagher show. Yeah, damn right.
How dated am I for referencing that.
Speaker 4 (01:56:22):
The audience doesn't even know what that is?
Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
All right, you're clothing items of the week. Here's your
best hat I can find here for the big titties
and type kitties.
Speaker 4 (01:56:30):
I'm gonna wear that at the family reunion.
Speaker 1 (01:56:32):
Would you wear this next shirt? Luke?
Speaker 4 (01:56:35):
I don't play basketball, but I do have a Magic Johnson.
Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
Okay, all right, here's your I'll.
Speaker 4 (01:56:41):

Speaker 1 (01:56:42):
Let's go to the dress clothes. Here's your suit of
the week. What is this?
Speaker 4 (01:56:49):
What the fuck is this?
Speaker 1 (01:56:53):
What about it?
Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
I mean, I'm all for subversive fashion. It looks like
he got bullied by other kids.
Speaker 1 (01:56:57):
Would you date his lady?
Speaker 5 (01:56:59):
Nice?
Speaker 4 (01:57:00):
Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
Okay, okay, Luke, We got a couple more to close here.
This is an English Premier League. Watch this fan celebrating
the win in Did you see it? He took his
peace out?
Speaker 17 (01:57:17):
Do it again, by the way, No, lie, I saw
a guy take his peace out today on the subway,
not even lying.
Speaker 4 (01:57:28):
I mean the New York City subway.
Speaker 1 (01:57:29):
I'm even lying. I did see it. I did see it.
Speaker 4 (01:57:31):
Yes. Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:57:32):
And finally, Luke, this one's for the boys. Let's check
it out.
Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
Only the boys will appreciate this one. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (01:57:41):
Okay, that's all the ship I got. That's the end.
Thank you. Okay, grand opening, grand closing.
Speaker 6 (01:57:50):
There it is.
Speaker 4 (01:57:51):
I have liked doing this show.
Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
I don't know if today is the last one, even
Mikey responded after uploading the ship, he had two of them.
He was like, I'm not sure I can be friends
with you anymore. Basic, I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:58:02):
I don't know if this is the last one.
Speaker 1 (01:58:03):
But if it is, we went out in a blaz
We had a good time.
Speaker 12 (01:58:06):
But the results to the poll.
Speaker 1 (01:58:08):
Oh whose shoes? Now?
Speaker 5 (01:58:09):
What?
Speaker 4 (01:58:09):
How exactly did you word the question?
Speaker 1 (01:58:11):
I wrote, which shoes are worse?
Speaker 12 (01:58:13):
Option A was Luke's Bear Barracks shoes.
Speaker 4 (01:58:16):
Okay, very good, and option two is BC's CBS shoes.
Speaker 1 (01:58:19):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:58:19):
I think I'm probably gonna win, but let's see.
Speaker 7 (01:58:21):
Yeah, Luke, you had fifty eight percent of the vote
or worse, almost one thousand.
Speaker 1 (01:58:26):
