Welcome to Golden Boy: An Academy Awards Podcast! Join Moronic Logic monthly as Kenny enlists a rotating co-host from an assemblage of interesting and unique voices to watch every movie nominated for Best Picture in a given year and decide who SHOULD have won the Golden Boy.
We do EVERYTHING in chronological order at Moronic Logic, so Episode 2 takes us to the Second Academy Awards, held in early 1930, where Golden Boy host Kenny Cahoon and guest host Robert Albanese must decide which of 5 films is the actual Best Picture. This episode features a Schrodinger's cat dilemma as one of the nominated films, The Patriot, is a LOST MOVIE. Is it alive, or is it dead? Can we vote for it? Should we vote for it? Are these early talkies any good? Join us and join in on the discussion! By the end of the episode only one movie (or two if we do not agree) will prevail and take home the actual Golden Boy.
Robert William Albanese III is a reformed academic and occasional college instructor in the area of cinema studies, literature and popular culture. He holds a PhD in American Studies from the University of Iowa, where once he heard a professor refer to himself as a "competent dilettante" and thought, yeah, I'm going to put that on my LinkedIn.

Recommendations!!!!!
Here are two great podcasts I started listening to when working on this episode! I didn't have time to try any new ones this month but when I do I will add them to the list.
Oscar Podcast- The Oscars Year by Year (Sasha Stone) Episode 74b is relevant to the 1929 Academy Awards. Three knowledgable hosts with great banter. This is where I first heard about Louis B Mayer screwing over The Crowd (1928) for all time.

Time Honored Pictures with Reyes and Evergreen. I listened to their episode on Wings and 7th Heaven and loved the knowledge and chemistry these two had.
