Season 37 Amazing Race – My Guests, Mark Crawford and Larry Graham, Retired Memphis Firefighters and Team Red on Amazing Race.

This week’s guests met when they were young and while in their twenties they both joined the Memphis Fire Department.  They spent their career saving lives and serving their community.  On their off time they enjoyed riding their Harleys and spending time with family.

Mark had been on a reality show known as Broken Skull Ranch with host Stone Cold Steve Austin.  Applying for a reality show was second nature to Mark, but this was very different for Larry.  That said, Larry was game to try so they applied for The Amazing Race Season 36.  They ended up being tagged as alternates and never made it on the show last season.  Not being deterred, Mark and Larry signed up again the next season and this time they made it.

Our conversation covers their early years and how they met, but then they share how what all they experienced, what it was like applying for the show, the rules that they had to follow and what it was like to have an adventure together that took them halfway around the world to China.  Even though they only completed one leg they had no regrets going on the show and Mark shares that he would be interested in doing something else in line with a reality TV competition.  However, Larry said, one was enough for him and he will be there to cheer his friend on.

My takeaway is this, life is not intended to be a spectator sport.  Get out there and take chances and enjoy the years you have because life is too short.  Mark and Larry are great friends, they are great leaders and most of all, they great guys and I know you will enjoy this episode!
