Speaker 3 (01:12):
Could you share a
little background about your
company and what you do?
Yeah, we're approaching 10years in business.
This year will be our fullninth year here in the
Tri-Cities helping people getbetter water quality.
I started this business back inJune of 2016, and it was a
really, really great time to getto know a lot of the people in
(01:33):
this area and make a lot offriends as I networked to try to
find out who needed my services.
I've been trying to help peopleimprove their water quality at
home or in their business oroffice space, and we have been
able to help.
We're coming up on about 700customers now in the Tri-Cities
(01:55):
and we are just really excitedto see what this upcoming year
has to offer.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Wow, 700 customers.
That's incredible.
And you're coming up on a 10year anniversary as well.
Yes, sir, what's the big date?
The you know off the top ofyour head, oh so.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
June 6th is when I
started the company and we
really got rolling in the fallwhen I started to do more
networking and find some friendswho helped direct me as to how
to meet people who would need myservices.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Very good, We'll look
forward to that big giant party
on June 6th, uh, next year.
Speaking of celebration whenyou're not busy running Mountain
View Pure Water, Dan, what doyou do for fun?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Um, my kids are.
They love soccer.
I get to help coach soccer.
We are homeschooling parents,so there's a lot of things going
on in our homeschool communityand we're also very involved at
our church.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Family is always the
best answer, then time with
family, especially if the wifewatches the podcast.
No, just kidding.
Time with family, especially ifthe wife watches the podcast,
I'm just kidding.
So, knowing that marketing iskey to any business success, dan
, how do you market MountainView Pure Water?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Well, honestly, I've
tried a whole lot of different
ways to market Mountain ViewPure Water.
I started off running Googleads and in paid advertisement
space online there's always thetelevision or radio spots,
different magazines and mailouts that I've done over time.
So far, my best return oninvestment has literally just
(03:38):
been networking with people.
There's a local networkingorganization, incredible Towns.
That's really been a greatinvestment for me and I get to
meet people every time I go toone of their network meetings
and that is a good spot to justshare with people what I do, why
I do it, and to get feedbackfrom them.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Network.
Well, of course you know, ultimately word of mouth is
probably the best advertisingyou can get, and of course you
get that through good serviceand positive reputation too.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, I was just
going to say that over the time
we've been in business, we'vemanaged to tally up to this
point about 245 star reviews andwe have a five-star rating on
Google, and I think that is areal big help at the moment, as
people are looking for waterquality improvements, trying to
figure out who's out there tohelp them.
When they search online in thetri-cities, we're the one that
(04:34):
comes up and we have a reallygood reputation for serving our
customers well and providing thequality they're looking for, as
well as being on the spotquickly if there's something
that they need.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Awesome Quality
service Two key words.
Well, Dan, you're a super busyguy, I know, because I have a
hard time catching up with you.
But in your own words, why areyou doing this?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Well, I'll take you
back to a little bit of my
growing up time.
My father was a water treatmenttechnician when I was a child.
We've always had really goodwater, and so I guess you could
say I became a water snob.
One of the things that reallychanged me was I had done some
college and had a couple ofbusinesses, and I was working at
(05:22):
a factory at the time and I wasreally kind of looking for
something more than just beingthe person who put another piece
on the thing coming off theassembly line, and I looked at
what my dad did and he reallyhelped people with actual
problem water.
Maybe the water had smells, maybe it stained things, maybe
(05:43):
it had methane in it and blew upat the sink.
There are lots of differentthings that were issues that I
remember my dad fixing forpeople.
As I contemplated what my nextstep was in life, I saw that he
really helped people and Iwanted to do something like that
as well.
So I decided to make a changein course and I went into the
(06:06):
water treatment industry, gotsome training and ended up in
Florida treating really badwater in central Florida.
At that point I met my wife.
We had several kids we havefour now and we got to a point
where we wanted to get out ofFlorida there's some things
(06:27):
about the weather I don't reallycare for and get back to a
place like I grew up with treesand streams and mountains, and
so we settled in the Tri-Citiesarea and just came here in 2016
and started Mountain View PureWater and we have been trying to
(06:48):
help people get better waterquality and as that journey
continued, I really found aniche in helping people get
healthy water, because I'm moreconcerned about the health of
their water, whether there'stoxins in it, whether it's
causing them to use lots ofchemical soaked with chemicals
in the ingredients.
(07:08):
Those things aren't necessarywhen you have soft water,
bottled water that people getfrom the store.
That's kind of become a regularthing that people just depend
on bottled water and that waterhas toxins in it.
The water isn't always clean initself and the plastic bottles
leave plastics behind and wedrink those things.
(07:30):
So helping people get highquality water at home to drink,
removing their dependency onbottled water and also providing
water in their home thatdoesn't require the harsh
chemicals and toxins that comeswith your typical soaps and
cleaning products, that reallyfeels good to me to help people
live a healthier lifestyle in away that is enjoyable, awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Awesome, helping
people Always a good answer.
Well, dan, I love it.
We'll catch you in the nextepisode where we're going to
dive into some frequently askedquestions.
Like you, you raised a bunch ofquestions in what you were just
saying about the quality ofwater bottled water.
I've got a lot of questions forthat, so maybe we can.
We can catch up on that in thenext episode.
Sounds good.
(08:16):
All right, dan.
