Tiffany Kairos' life was filled with plans and excitement, but everything changed when she experienced her first seizure while driving. Her unexpected diagnosis with epilepsy led to a whirlwind of emotions and adjustments, forcing her to reevaluate her life and how she navigated her new reality.
Tiffany has now been living with epilepsy for 16 years, and in our conversation we discussed the challenges and triumphs that come with managing a chronic condition. However, Tiffany's story is not just about her diagnosis; it's about resilience, community, and the importance of education.
It took Tiffany about two years to come to terms with her epilepsy. During this time, she found a sense of belonging and comfort by connecting with people online. With the help of her husband, she created the Epilepsy Network, an online community that has grown to nearly 30,000 members. This platform serves as a space for education, support, and breaking down the stigma surrounding epilepsy.
Tiffany also runs a blog called Rise Above Epilepsy, where she shares her personal experiences and offers tips for others navigating similar challenges.
Her passion for educating others about epilepsy is evident, and I can't wait to see where her journey takes her next.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
