Drebin Jr. is a bumbling but earnest cop who finds himself investigating a bizarre murder case—a fatal car crash initially ruled a suicide—that puts him in contact with the victim's sister, a crime novelist named Beth.
Their investigation leads them to a nefarious tech billionaire named Richard Cane, who has stolen a device called the "P.L.O.T. (Primordial Law Of Toughness) Device." Cane plans to activate the device at a public event to turn all of humanity into a violent, primitive mob, allowing him and his fellow billionaires to safely rule the drastically reduced population from a secluded bunker.
Drebin Jr., with his partner Ed Hocken Jr. and the help of Beth, must race against time—and his own spectacular incompetence—to stop Cane's ridiculous scheme and prevent the closure of the Police Squad.
