Finding freedom from self-punishment by embracing the promise that joy comes in the morning. Our tendency to hold onto past mistakes prevents us from experiencing the full joy God offers us daily.

• Psalm 30:5 reminds us that God's anger is momentary while His favor lasts a lifetime
• We often worship our mistakes, turning them into idols we continuously revisit
• When we make mistakes, we should apologize, make amends, then release them through repentance
• Parents of adult children particularly struggle with letting go of past parenting regrets
• Stop beating yourself up over job losses, business struggles, or relationship challenges
• Seek clarity from God about next steps instead of dwelling in self-criticism

Remember that joy cannot coexist with self-condemnation. Release your mistakes, receive forgiveness, and welcome the joy that comes each morning.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning y'all.
It's Saturday, faith Fuel and Ijust wanted to come on real
quick and just share just alittle bit of encouragement, and
is it?
It is what it is, y'all.
I'm breaking out because it'swhat is crazy, but I was
thinking about this this morning.
I'm in Psalm 30, verse 5.
And it says For his anger isbut for a moment moment and his

(00:24):
favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
If you know Psalm 30, reallythe caption in my ESV Bible is
joy comes in the morning.
So I just wanted to encourageus to stop being so hard on
ourselves.
Even the Lord when it says hisanger is but for a moment.

(00:45):
Some of us are carrying mistakesand you know we're beating
ourselves up for the things thatwe've done.
You know, last week, last year,10 years ago, 20 years ago,
like you're carrying this thingand it almost, it almost becomes
an idol that we worship becausewe become self-righteous.
We you know what I'm saying wego through all the motions of

(01:07):
petting the mistakes andtreating it like it becomes a
part of us.
We've got to stop being so hardon ourselves.
We've got to stop being so hard.
Some of the things that I do,and just sharing what I do again
, just doing life with y'all iswhen I make a mistake.
If I've offended someone, I'llcorrect it right.
I'll a mistake.
If I've offended someone, I'llcorrect it right.
I'll apologize for that.
But I also repent because Iwant it off my heart.

(01:30):
So I'll go to the Lord and Irepent.
Lord, forgive me for mythoughts, my deeds, my actions.
You know.
Anything that I've said or doneto cause certain things,
whatever it is, and then y'all Ihave to let it go right.
We cannot keep beatingourselves up for mistakes that
we've made.
We've got to at some point.

(01:50):
You got to move past.
That it doesn't mean that thereisn't going to be some level of
correction right when you makea mistake.
If you do something wrong, there's going to be correction
right.
But I just want to encourage you, especially parents of adult
kids.
You know, if you feel likeyou've done the best you could,
okay, you've done the best youcould.
You've got to move on.

(02:11):
You have to be able to forgiveyourself.
You have to do that.
Joy is never going to show upfor you.
Joy is not coming in themorning if you're still holding
on to things and you're beatingyourself up.
We don't need to do that.
So my hope is that, as thisreaches you, you'll feel maybe a
little sense of relief.
Maybe it's just a reminder Stopbeating yourself up.

(02:36):
Stop beating yourself up.
You lost a job and you're notwhere you are right now.
The business isn't doing aswell as you thought it would,
the kids are going crazy, thespot's getting on your nerves
and everything is on yourshoulders.
I get it, but you've got tostop beating yourself up.
I want you to pause and ask theLord to give you clarity and
wisdom about what do you do next, right?

(02:58):
What do you do next?
Because we don't want to sitand stew.
We want to keep moving forward.
All right, I hope that, encouraged, y'all have an
amazing Saturday.
Me and my Zed are going to gotake care of some business,
right?
I love y'all.
Jesus loves you more and I'llsee you next week.
Take care.
