Speaker 1 (00:00):
no-transcript, feel
like this year is taking off,
(03:45):
but I'm so grateful.
So here we are in the month ofMay and I'm just going to look
at my notes really quickly andI'll tell you something.
When I was trying to preparethis morning for it, I literally
felt like I could just read thetitle of today's episode, the
(04:07):
title of today's episode, andyou would kind of understand
where I'm at, where the titlefor today is I'm tired, but I'm
still here.
I'm tired, but I'm still here.
So for the month of May we'regoing to, our theme is
essentially, keep showing up.
But I just want to saysomething really quickly so that
there's a little bit of adisclaimer.
Okay, when I'm talking aboutkeep showing up, good morning
Ebony, good morning, goodmorning Dr Tracy.
(04:29):
I'm doing better at saying hiy'all when I'm talking about
showing up, I don't want us totake this out of context.
If you're tired, if you'reemotionally tired, I'm
definitely not telling you thatyou need to push through.
That's a cycle of crazy that Idid for myself and it did not.
(04:51):
It ended up hurting and harmingme where I was just trying to
boulder my way through thingsand I didn't take the pause, I
wasn't slowing down and that'scrazy.
So I don't want us to just pushthrough, especially us Black
women in our nature, to just wejust keep going right.
(05:12):
I want us to allow ourselvesthis month of May maybe it's
just for the month of May, butwe're going to allow ourselves
to take pauses and rests andbreaks when we need it.
And so self-care this monthmight not be something that's
external, meaning you know, weget the, the, the, the manicures
, the pedicures, all the things.
(05:33):
Maybe self-care this, thismonth, is going to be us taking
things just a little bit slowerbecause a lot of us are again,
I've not mentioned community butall of us men, women, black,
brown, everybody that a lot ofus are just emotionally tired,
but we're still here, we'restill having to show up.
So, before I go further, I amgoing to go into scripture, I am
(05:55):
going to go into Isaiah 40, 29,and I'm going to share my
screen because there's just afew verses that I wanted to
share this morning.
Before we do that, lord, wejust thank you for allowing us
to see May, allowing us to seeanother month, and some of us
are just dragging into May,where we're making it, we're
just barely making it into Mayand some of us are excited about
(06:16):
this month and we're filledwith all the joy and all the
hope and all the creativity andall of the things that we're
excited about what's to come, whatever we are.
And I ask, lord, that you'llmeet us in that mindset this
morning, lord God, but thatyou'll just help us and, for
those of us who are just lookingfor some, looking for rest,
some looking for encouragement, some looking for inspiration,
(06:38):
that they'll find it in yourword today and that you'll just
remind all of us, lord, thatyou'll just remind all of us,
lord, that you are our helper, holy Spirit, so that you'll be
with us and you show us andspeak to each of us according to
your will today.
Amen, all right, I gotta prayfirst.
Right, come on.
So there's this scripture andI'm pretty sure a lot of us I'm
saying pretty sure because a lotof times you know kind of it is
(07:02):
what it is.
A lot of times you go to churchand the scripture comes up.
So I'm not telling you anythingyou don't know.
But for those of you who aremight be newer to you know,
maybe newer to reading the Bible, okay, maybe this is a reminder
for some, but I really lovethis scripture Isaiah 40, 29
through 31,.
Obviously the A Shelley version, known as the English Standard
(07:24):
Version.
He gives power to the faint andto him who has no might.
He increases strength.
Even youth shall faint and beweary, and young men shall fall
exhausted.
But they who wait for the Lordshall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wingslike eagles and they shall run
and not be wary, and they shallwalk and not face.
(07:47):
So, a holy spirit, just give mewisdom now to break down what
it is, according to your, yourword and your interpretation,
for us.
So, again, I mentioned thescripture because it's a kind of
an easy one, quite frankly, for, uh, bible teachers, um, you
know your pastors, your apostles, whoever, whoever it is you,
you know title people, you knowpeople with no titles at all,
(08:09):
but it's an easy one for us tomake reference to.
And, and I and I'm coming backto this one because it is, it is
encouraging, I think the onething that I want to point out
in this particular scripture andagain, I always say it's really
important to understand thecontext and where this falls in
but nonetheless I want to saythis is the first thing that the
(08:33):
he that we're talking about iswe're talking about the Lord,
okay.
A lot of times we depend on eachother and we depend on friends
and family to kind of lift us upwhen we're tired, and that's
okay.
Kind of lift us up, you know, when we're tired and that's okay
.
But there are times when you, honestly, you really have to
give.
There's some things thathappened in April that I have
(08:54):
zero intention of bringing itinto the month of May People,
places and things.
I always talk about those threethings.
There are three things that Irefuse, you know, when you cross
over into a new month, becausewhen I come into a new month I'm
looking for new opportunitiesand new ideas and new encounters
and more blessings and moreways to serve.
(09:14):
So I'm not bringing the carcassof anything that didn't work
well in April, if it didn'tserve me the month before, it's
not serving me in the month I'min, and so I just want to
encourage you.
But when it talks about the Lord, you know giving power to the
faint and to him who has nomight, don't miss what you're
asking here for.
So when I I I pray thisscripture out.
(09:36):
You know, I use it as a prayerpoint, if you will.
And I asked the Lord, you know, give me power.
You know, give me power andincrease my strength.
Ask the Lord, you know, give mepower.
You know, give me power andincrease my strength.
No-transcript.
And in verse 30, when he talksabout even youth shall faint and
be weary.
Young men shall fall, exhausted.
(09:56):
But this is a point here that Ijust even want to remind
parents and now I'm going totalk about youth in the sense of
even our children.
I mean, our children could be30, 40, whatever, right, 12,
right.
But I want you to you know, inthe same way that that we get
tired as adults, our kids gettired too.
(10:17):
So I want you this month topray for your kids and, you know
, ask the Lord for your kids, who may be weary and exhausted.
And the truth is they are, theyreally are.
So verse 30 is I'm going to askyou this month, as a part of
your prayer points is to lift upthe youth, youth and the young
men in your life, okay, and prayfor them, those who might be
(10:39):
weary and exhausted.
And then verse 31 is going to bea little challenge for all of
us because it has that W wordthat really none of us like.
It says they who wait for theLord shall renew their strength,
and so there are things thatwe're going to do this month
that's going to require us tohold up.
Okay, it's going to require usto wait when we hear from the
(11:00):
Lord and it says wait for theLord shall renew their strength,
Meaning we're not going to door make decisions or go places
without the Lord directing us,so that we don't burn ourselves
out.
We're not going to haveconversations with people.
We're not going to makecontracts with people, we're not
going to make arrangements withpeople.
We're going to make sure thatanything that we do is in
(11:22):
alignment with what the Lord isshowing us and telling us to do.
And I think this is where a lotof us kind of burn out and tap
out because we say, oh, Ihaven't heard from the Lord
about this thing.
I really don't know what I'msupposed to do.
So you're living in that cycleof doubt and I tell you, when
you're at peace, when you'resettled in your spirit, you hear
(11:45):
more from the Lord, becauseyou're not speaking over his
voice, if you will, you're nottrying to create the opportunity
for yourself.
I have the kind of life where Idon't beg for anything, I don't
beg for nothing.
Okay, the Lord will go beforeme and bless me and he does use
people to do that.
(12:05):
But in that same way, in themidst, while I'm waiting, I'm
working, I'm serving, I'm doingthe things the nuts and bolts,
if you will, the things thathe'm supposed to do, that I know
I'm supposed to do.
So waiting doesn't necessarilymean that you're stalled.
There's still an action.
Think about it this way Ifyou're at home and you're
waiting for a phone call, you'renot going to stop breathing,
(12:26):
right?
So there's still something thatyou're doing.
But renewing your strength andmount up with wings like eagles
and run and not be weary, andwalk, and shall walk and not
faint, those are some of thethings that come as a result of
you waiting for the Lord.
So I want to encourage.
So again, there's threedifferent things here in Isaiah
(12:47):
this is again Isaiah 40, 29through 30.
Remember y'all I have peoplewho listen to the audio version
so they won't see the screen, sothat's why I have to keep
repeating what I'm talking about.
But verse 29, again, just usingthis as a prayer point Lord,
give me power.
Give me power and increase mystrength.
That is your prayer point forthis month, every day, okay.
(13:08):
The second point is that we'repraying for our youth.
You know, praying for those whoare weary and exhausted.
And you know, if you don't havechildren, maybe you've got God
children, niece and nephew, maybe it's just your neighbor's
kids, you know.
Focus on praying, praying thisprayer point and then the verse
(13:29):
31,.
You know again where we'rewaiting, lord.
I want to hear from you thismonth before I make any
decisions, before I make anycalls.
You know you open the door forme, you show me what to, what to
do, and I am listening and andrenew my strength while I'm
waiting to hear from you.
Lord, god, right.
So that's, that's the uh, that'sthe prayer point, and I think,
again, I'm gonna stop sharing myscreen now.
I'm gonna come back to the roomthere.
I'll tell you something.
(13:50):
It is um, oh, it is Tracy.
Oh, my gosh, sorry.
Okay, see, dr Tracy.
So three.
So, by the way, if y'all don'tknow, three Praying Sister is
our phone line.
It's free and I didn't realizethat.
I'm sorry, but the theme forthis month is renewal and
perseverance.
Strengthen us, lord, for ourrace and our journey, amen, amen
(14:13):
.
So it's really important, right?
So thank you, lord, for thatconfirmation.
So I just again, you know, ifyou are in that position where
you just feel like you're tired, can I just say something?
It's also okay to admit thatyou're tired.
I am tired, okay, I'memotionally, maybe not
physically, but I'm definitelyemotionally and mentally tired.
(14:34):
So I take this time to go backand say, okay, not physically,
but I'm definitely emotionallyand mentally tired.
So I take this time to go backand say, okay, lord,
reprioritize, because if I'mdoing anything outside of his
will, it exhausts me.
Okay.
So I want to realign back towhat you want me to do, and if
I'm not, if it's not somethingthat he wants me involved in
people, places or things and Istart saying, okay, lord, burn
(14:57):
off everything that is not fromyou, Anything that you don't
want me touching any place.
You don't want me to go.
You know, go ahead, remove it,because I don't want to get
involved, I don't want to burnmyself out doing busy work,
right?
And then it's outside of thewill that he has for me.
You have to be.
You know, this year our one wordtheme is the word discipline.
(15:19):
So applying discipline in allof your area.
But I just, I wanted to justcome in and encourage all of us
who might be feeling tired rightnow.
I really want, I really want usto take, you know, to kind of
take a step back this month ofMay and it's okay to do that
y'all to regroup and renew sothat we don't burn out when we
come to June.
Okay, this month of May, may,the number five in the Bible
(15:46):
okay, not even as a spiritualword, the Bible number five
represents grace.
So for me, the month of May isone that's also powerful,
because this is where I seeGod's grace multiply my life.
I know that for me OK, maybenot for you, but for me that I
am grace.
I have what's called triplegrace.
(16:06):
I'm grace with men, I'm gracewith heaven.
I'm grace with angels, meaningI'm grace.
He sends his angelic ministryto help me.
That's how I'm able to be in 10places at one time and not burn
out.
That is because the Lord useshis angels to minister onto me.
That's how I can show up andteach, right.
I'm graced with men, meaningI'm graced in my corporate job,
(16:31):
I'm graced in this ministry.
I'm graced with heaven, I'mtapped into heaven.
So triple grace.
And so whenever you come to meetme or you come to any of our
prayers or any interactions thatwe have, there's a high
possibility that you're going toleave a little bit different
than you met me.
It's just a part of the natureone, but part of the gifts too
(16:53):
that I have.
So the month of May meaningmonth of May, the fifth month is
my month of grace.
This is where I get renewed.
So thank you again, tracy, forbringing that up.
So this is also the month whereI get renewed, and if I don't
allow myself that time to berenewed, it means I'm not
listening to things that I wouldtypically have listened to.
(17:15):
I'm not involved in anybody'sgossip.
I literally I'm like ghost town, you know.
But this is a time period forme to renew myself, and so I
want to encourage y'all if y'allstill hear Ebony and y'all hear
Dr Tracy and anybody who'slistening that I just want to
encourage you that this is thetime that you start to get
renewed.
Go back into the word spendingtime with the Lord.
(17:36):
You know you have to.
It's not just praying, it's nota monologue.
You need time to listen.
So you're meditating, slow down, slow down, just a little bit
right, slow, slow down just alittle bit so that in this month
of May, you know you can't have, you know how the word again.
We always talk about eagles andpeople get.
You know, some of y'all get madat me when I talk, when I keep
(17:57):
saying everybody is an eagle, everybody want to claim to be an
eagle and you're not.
Okay, you know you're not.
But to have wings like eagle,to be able to be mount up, it
means to have that eagle, thatperspective.
It means that you are separatedand separated and you're doing
things.
It shows up in the natural thatyou're a leader, that you're
(18:21):
inspiring people, that you'remaking impact.
You're doing all the things.
I know who I'm talking to onthis replay, who's going to
catch it?
Okay, but you won't have anypower, right?
You won't have any power if youburned out.
You won't have any power comeJune if you're burned out in May
(18:41):
, okay.
So I'm just urging y'all to justtake this month to focus on the
grace, the grace that he'sgiven you, amen, the absolute
grace, the gift and talents thatwe have.
He's gracing us.
The divine favor that you haveis because of his grace.
Divine protection that you haveis because of his grace.
(19:02):
The Holy Spirit working throughyou on your job or in your
community, or in your marriageor in your friendship, is
because of his grace.
It's a gift.
It's not something that wetruly earn at all.
Right, I can't.
I am the most broken andchipped vessel.
But he chose me and then he'sgraced me.
But I have to be in a positionwhere I can rest and I can be
(19:26):
renewed and I can hear and I canbe again in order for my wings
to flap like an eagle, sometimesI got to go into rest mode.
So I just wanna encourage y'allfor those who are tired, but I'm
still here, meaning that youstill have hope, and I don't
want you to lose hope althoughyou're tired.
I don't want you to lose hopealthough you're not getting the
(19:46):
news that you wanted.
I don't want you to lose hopebecause people are disappointing
you.
I don't want you to lose hopebecause your bank account isn't
showing what you thought itwould, or that your business
isn't doing what you thought itwould by now, or that you're
having a little trouble withyour kids or your kids' fathers,
or none of that.
(20:06):
I don't want you to feel tiredbecause of what's happening in
your community.
I don't want you to feel tiredbecause of what's happening in
this government.
I don't want you to feel tiredbecause of the people you work
with.
I don't want you to feel tired.
I want you, this month, to relyon his grace.
I want you, this month, to relyon just the goodness of God
getting you through it.
(20:27):
I don't want you to burn out.
I'm begging you, please, to usethis month as a time to just
pull back just a little andfocus on him only.
I'm going to ask us to be justa little selfish this month for
those who are tired, so that wewill make it Okay.
And it's okay.
If anybody judges you, it's nottheir business.
Tell them this is between meand Jesus.
(20:48):
If you've got to cancel out andnot attend something this month
, okay, because you're notemotionally equipped to do it.
It's okay to say you know what?
I'm not available this month,I'm not available.
You don't have to give anythingmore than that.
I'm just I'm not available,y'all, and that's it.
You got to do that, right?
So Isaiah 40, verse 29 through31,.
(21:10):
He gives power to the faint andI'm just praying that this is
going to bless you, whetheryou're again for work, for home,
for life, for anything, andthat God will give you triple
grace, triple grace, triplegrace, right.
The grace with God, the graceof men and the grace with angels
his angels, right Not us, notus praying to angels.
(21:31):
That he discharges his hosts, that they will minister onto you
, that you'll get everythingthat you need, that everything
that was locked before is openfor you this month, that you'll
see the grace of God and that hewill even move.
You know, move mountains onyour job, those colleagues
who've been, you know, testingyou and all the things.
I mean.
There's so much going on andpeople are so they're so
(21:54):
frustrated, the loss and thenews of a job loss.
I know my videos are onLinkedIn.
There are thousands of peoplewho are getting bad reports that
they're losing their jobs, andI know that you're tired, but
you're still here.
I don't want you to tap out.
I want you to rest.
I want you to be renewed in themonth of May.
I don't want you to quit.
Don't quit this life.
(22:15):
I want you to rest so that youcan be renewed, so that when we
get to June, y'all, we'll beready to go.
So, father, I thank you forevery soul and every person
under the sound of my voicewho's feeling so tired this
morning, whether it's emotionalor mental, physical or even
spiritual, and they're justlooking for a period of renewal
and rest.
I pray that this is the month, lord God, that you will speak to
(22:43):
each of all of us, lord God,and first of all, as we're
waiting to hear from you, thatyou'll reveal to us day in and
day out, whether it's throughdreams or confirmation or
encouragement Maybe you'll sendit through the voice of a child,
an adult, anyone, lord God,that you'll send them a word
that will help them to bereminded of you and that you
will show up, that you'll giveus all the power that we need
this month, increase our mightand our will, lord, god, lord, I
thank you for those who arejust trying so hard.
(23:05):
They wanna have a relationshipwith you and I know, lord, that
you'll not let us be put toshame in any place that we go in
, especially the marketplace.
So, for those who are God, whoare in the marketplace and
they're feeling worn down on thejob because of the conflicts on
the job, that you'll even, lordGod, step in and give them your
divine favor this month, thatthey will see your grace with
(23:26):
men that their names are inrooms that some of them would
never enter.
That you will give them favorand protection.
For those who have lost theirjobs, lord God, who are waking
up to a Thursday morning withbad news or bad report about
their income, that, even now, that you will give them rest so
that they don't respond in thewrong way, and I ask that you'll
continue to open doors and putthem in the new position.
(23:48):
I thank you that, when youclose one door, lord God, that
you give us the opportunitythrough many others, and that
you will do that for us thisseason.
For those who are just feelingdrawn and tired, lord God, that
you'll speak to them.
I pray for our children, ouryouth, our adult children, lord
God, who are weary and exhaustedabout what's happening all
around them.
That you'll help them, lord God, those who don't see a way out.
(24:11):
That you'll give them adifferent vision, lord God, that
you'll give them a differentvision.
Lord God, that you give theminspiration and that you'll
bless our children forgenerations to come.
And, lord, for all of us whoare waiting for you.
So many of us are waiting tohear from you concerning all the
things in our lives, lord God,people who are waiting for
medical reports or financialreports or job reports or
(24:32):
anything, lord God, people whoare just waiting for direction.
Some people are just waitingfor things to calm down.
Lord, that you will not I knowthat you will not disappoint
your children and so, lord, I'masking that you will give us
those words, you'll acceleratethe timeline, you'll send us
your help, you'll send us divineprotection this month, and that
you will show up in a differentway because of your grace on
(24:52):
our lives in the month of May.
Thank you, lord, that when wefinish this month, lord God,
that we're going to look back,y'all, we're going to look back
at this month and be like thatwas the best month ever.
We are in the month of May andwhen we come back, week after
week, there's a couple of thingsI want to share with you that,
listen, we're going to make thisa good month of May.
(25:13):
The first thing that reallyencouraged me on our Facebook
prayer group.
So we have a come out of thewilderness Facebook prayer group
.
That's where you can find us,ok, and on there I forgot,
because this is automated andevery month it asks us to give a
testimony.
So for y'all who you know again, you're welcome to join is free
.
We don't ask no season, it'sall good, right.
(25:33):
But for those of you who arelooking for a little bit of
encouragement, maybe just startreplaying your own testimonies.
What were some of the thingsthat you can testify to that
happened that were good for youin the month before?
That's the only thing I do whenI look back at the previous
month.
So I was so encouraged by theFacebook prayer testimonies.
(25:55):
The second thing is, if youkeep a journal or prayer journal
, now's a good time to leaf backand look at what the Lord has
done Again.
Sometimes we got to be remindedof the blessings and what we
came out of, and that willencourage you to keep going
forward.
Right, that's the, but I'mstill here.
I'm still here because I knowGod is still God, ok.
(26:17):
And then the last thing is, likeI said before, it's okay to
take a little bit of a break.
It's okay.
You have to reset your mind, reset your body, reset your
attitude, reset your tone, allthe things.
It's okay to take a rest, allright, all right, y'all.
So that's what I had.
I hope that blessed you.
It definitely blessed me.
I needed it.
Don't forget, today is Thursday, so our prayer phone line is
(26:37):
open.
At one o'clock, seven o'clock, eastern standard time.
Three praying sisters, including Dr Tracy, with a shout
out.
Thank you so much, y'all, forwatching.
I really hope you have anamazing rest of your Thursday.
Be kind to yourself.
I know you tired, but we stillhere.
We hanging in there.
All right, take care.
Bye, y'all.
