• Greatness is already in us, but we need to partner with God to activate it

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning y'all.
So this is Saturday Fuel, andso, for those of y'all who never
seen this before, I'm Shelly.
I come on on Saturdays.
I just give little tits bitsand pieces of encouragement, if
you will.
So today I'm looking at mynotes over here.
Today I want to talk about theproximity to greatness, and a
lot of times we're looking forgreatness in other people.

(00:22):
We're looking for greatness inother people, but as I was
sitting here thinking about thegreatness that's already in us,
I thought this is something thatwould be really cool to share
with you.
So, literally what I wrote inmy notes is greatness isn't.
It's not just something that weobserve in other people, it's
something that God has alreadyplaced in us, and I'm going to
back this up with scripture andI hope this is going to

(00:42):
encourage you and if you likethis, please like and share with
someone who could benefit fromthis word.
So something that we do, y'all,is that when we see greatness
in others, we get drawn to thatlight, and I just don't want us
to miss the fact that we alsohave this capacity for greatness

(01:03):
.
Psalm 1399, verse 14, is one ofmy favorite ones.
I'm going to read it to youfrom the ESV version.
It says I praise you, for I amfearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works.
My soul knows it very well.
So I think there's two thingshere.
First of all is we recognizethat we are fearfully and

(01:25):
wonderfully made.
We're wonderfully made.
The Lord put thought you knowbehind who we are and when he
created us.
Greatness is actually alreadyin you and we have the capacity
to do incredible, amazing things.
So I want to encourage you tojust remember that.
Where we kind of mess up y'allis the second part, where it

(01:46):
says you know what David wassaying.
My soul knows it very well.
Like I know that there'sgreatness in me and what I have
to do then is I partner with theLord to activate that thing in
me.
What he put in me, thegreatness is already in me.
But a lot of times what peopledo is they get drawn to the
light of other people, otherfolks who might be wealthier,

(02:07):
who might look the part, say thethings smell good, all the
things.
You know what I'm saying and weforget that we also have that
greatness in us when you're putin a situation.
I had this amazing opportunityyesterday.
One of my mentors and I'm notsaying people's names on here,
but one of my mentors took me tolunch yesterday.
One of my mentors and I'm notsaying people's names on here,
but one of my mentors took me tolunch yesterday and I just
wanted to catch up and have akind of a life and career update

(02:31):
conversation Like this is whereI'm at.
What are you thinking?
This is where I'd like to dowhat are your thoughts about
this and get some guidance.
And what my mentor did for meand I have multiple mentors okay
, what my mentor did for me iswhat I have traditionally been
doing for other people is that Ihelp you to recognize that

(02:52):
greatness in you and I kind ofpull, yank that thing out.
Sometimes, again, we have to bereminded that we are fearfully
and wonderfully made.
We have greatness in us, and soI walked away from that meeting
feeling so empowered.
It wasn't that she was tellingme things that I didn't know,
but she was showing me thingsfrom a different perspective and

(03:14):
then how to put that in play.
It doesn't mean, y'all thatthere isn't correction and
things that you've got to doright.
So being great is one thing, but you have to be able to put
knowledge and wisdom behind thatso you can kind of do the
things that you want to do.
So when I walked away, I feltso full and light and happy
because it was someone who wasspeaking positive things and

(03:40):
corrections into my life so Ican walk this thing out.
The one thing that she remindedme is I am fearfully and
wonderfully made.
Wonderful are his works and mysoul knows it.
Okay, my soul needed to bereminded.
My soul knows it.
So greatness is in you.
Don't keep looking forproximity to greatness.

(04:00):
Don't think that because you goto the next class or you pay
for a specific coaching orplease don't come for me, I know
what I'm saying, okay, get meon.
Don't think that because youstart dressing like someone or
you start buying their perfumeor all the things, that that
proximity to greatness is goingto activate something in you and

(04:20):
all of a sudden you're just asgreat.
Greatness is in you.
You are wonderfully made, you're amazing, you're talented,
you're gifted, you're on theright path.
Victory is yours.
You're going to harvest a greatthing.
Your family is blessed, you'reblessed.
All and everything that you'redreaming, hoping, all of your
desires, all these things willhappen for you.

(04:41):
You're going to have to putsome work behind it.
Yes, we know, but I just wantto come here and remind you that
greatness is in you as well, all right.
So I pray that this bless you.
I hope this reaches youwherever you are, whatever
season of life.
It don't matter what season oflife you're in, it doesn't
matter your financial situation,it doesn't matter if things
aren't going the way you thoughtthey would go this season.

(05:03):
Just hold on to this seed,y'all, and then put the work
behind it.
Right, put the work behind it,it looks like.
Then you start strategizing, using wisdom, asking God to
guide you.
He will send you the resourcesand help you on your way.
Greatness is in you, all right.
So I hope this blessed you.
Please like, love and sharethis Again.
Thank you so much for giving mejust a little space to come on

(05:27):
this morning.
Thank you so much for those ofy'all who are supporting me.
What a tremendous, awesome daywe're going to have today.
It's Saturday and I want you tolook for the blessings, and I
also want you to look forconfirmation today from what I
just shared with you and as theLord is confirming some things
and reminding some of us, youknow you might have gone through
a job loss, a project loss, aspouse loss or even some kind of

(05:48):
loss.
Maybe you just came out of atough season and you are tie red
.
Okay, as we're living the softlife, as the girls are doing, we
need to be reminded thatgreatness is in us.
It's already here.
All right, all right, y'alltake care, have a great day and
thank you for watching.
Bye.
