(00:00):
Hello, folks, it's DavidWheeler here in Spruce Pine, North
Carolina with Muck you. We'vegot another great show today and
I'm going to throw it over tomy co partner, co host Mo Davis.
Take it, Mo.
Yeah, thanks, David. Andwelcome back, everybody. Another
beautiful day here in westernNorth Carolina. Normally I'm down
south of David Nashville, buttoday coming to you from a beautiful
(00:24):
Beech Mountain, NorthCarolina, where it's Woolly Worm
Festival weekend. So if youhaven't experienced the Woolly Worm
Festival basketball, you gotto get up to Banner Elk and take
it in. We're also here in peakleaf season. So again, compared to
last year after the hurricanewas really quite a change that a
year's made. As David said, wegot another great episode for you
(00:46):
and we have a repeat guest. One of the first episodes we did
back in January. You mayrecall that we had Pam Hemphill on
who was people remembered asthe Maga grandma who was there on
January 6, ended up doing sometime in in prison and saw the light
and switched sides and she'sback with us today. So, Pam, thanks
(01:09):
for taking time to do this.
Thank you for the opportunity.I appreciate it.
Well, welcome back. It I knowa lot's happened since January. You
know, Trump has now been inoffice for a couple of months and
hey, I was interested, Ifollow you on Twitter and I noticed
on your, your title you alsogo by Pam Tifa and you do realize
(01:33):
that can they can get yourhouse rated, don't you?
Oh, good. I hope so. I, yeah, call me Antifa. Well, Mega gave me
the new name Pam Tifa and nowthey've changed it though to Grantifa.
And I said, no, I don't wantto be no granny anymore. That's what
you gave me in the beginning.I'm staying with Pam Tifa.
(01:54):
There you go. Hey, well, listen, I know since we spoke with
you last time, you got aletter in June from Mike Pence. So.
Yeah.
Can you tell folks a littlebit about that?
Yeah, it came in the mail andI thought it was advertising and
I wasn't even going to open itup thinking this is just advertising.
Then I thought, well, maybeit's a good cause I can contribute
(02:17):
to. And I open it up and Iread it and I said to my boyfriend
and is this real? Is this? What is this? I couldn't believe
it. So he's reading, he'schecking it all out and he's yep,
this is real. I couldn'tbelieve it. I start crying. It was
it was amazing because it'sbeen so many times with this smear
campaign. I just want to giveup. I'm so tired of these maggots
(02:40):
and what they're doing to meand threatening me. And, you know,
Tario, the proud boys havethreatened me, and I'm just get fed
up sometimes. Is anybodysupporting me? And when that letter
came, I thought, wow, you knowwhat, what did Vice.
President Pence say in the letter?
Hold on. Michael, can you giveme the letter? It's right there.
He's going to get it. I haveit framed on the wall.
(03:01):
I don't blame you. Yeah, Yeah.I never was a big fan of. Of Mike
Pence, but that day he.
Did the right thing.
Yeah, you got to get him.Yeah, he did the right thing on January
6th. And he continued. I mean, there are things I disagree with
him on, but he seems like a,you know, an honorable man, so.
Absolutely.
And again, he didn't have totake the time to send you that letter.
(03:21):
And I think it says somethingabout him that. That he did.
You want me? Like me to read it?
Yeah, if you would. I thinkit's. That's pretty neat.
Dear Pamela, I'm writing toexpress my admiration for your decision
to refuse a presidentialpardon and accept responsibility
for your actions on January6th. January 6th was a tragic day,
(03:41):
but I will always believe thatI did my duty that day to see that
the peaceful transfer of powerunder the Constitution of the United
States. Your honorabledecision speaks volumes about your
commitment to the rule of law,and I wanted to pass along my genuine
respect. I am certain thatyour willingness to accept responsibility
(04:03):
has inspired many Americans byyour example of integrity and faith.
May God bless you and yourfamily with every blessing in yours
in the years ahead. MostSincerely, Mike Pence, 48th Vice
President, United States.
Wow. Again, I think this saysa lot about him that he took the
time to do that. Good on MikePence once again.
(04:27):
Yeah.
Yeah. Hey, but listen, morerecently, I know you've been out
and out in the war zone out inPortland. So can you tell the listeners
how bad it is out there?
Yeah, I have to laugh becausesee what happened when Trump's announcing
that Antifa is a terroristorganization and that he's going
(04:48):
to arrest anybody that's evenassociating with them. You know,
all the rhetoric he put outthere, I thought there's something
wrong here, because that'swhat they're doing to January 6th.
Right. They're rewritinghistory. They lie about everything.
You know, he does. So I said,I gotta. I Gotta go there and see
for myself. So I thought aboutit for a day. I called my boyfriend
(05:08):
and he said, yeah, but becareful, because, you know, it could
be tough out there. I said, well, I'm not afraid of the protesters.
No, I'm talking about ice.Ice. So I went there with, you know,
thinking, if it is violent, ifthere's anything that's going on,
like throwing glass bottles atcars or spitting on officers or anything
(05:31):
that's illegal and not apeaceful protest, I'm leaving and
I'm going to report it. I gotthere, it was unbelievable. The people
are so friendly, so they donot want nobody. If you are acting
out of line, they have youleave. They really do their own protesters.
I've talked to so many. Therewere doctors, I met several doctors,
(05:55):
several accountants. You namethe occupation is out there. Of course,
there's a few homeless, but,you know, the majority of the group
are regular citizens like youand me. I've met many of them. Some
came and wearing suits, youknow, but there's no violence. I
stayed six days. I came backbecause my boyfriend came back from
dc, Picked him up. We wentback another six days, same thing
(06:20):
over. And then of course, thefrogs came along and all the animals.
Right.
That was so cool.
So, you know, the rumor wasthat you. You went out there for
the naked bike ride.
Oh, yeah, No, I had heardabout that and I thought, this is
going to be weird. I've neverseen something like this. It was
nothing. What? I thought itwas a message, a wonderful message.
(06:43):
I got the whole thing onvideo, but I gotta put a little thing
on it because, you know, children can't see it.
Yeah.
I think I'm allowed to put iton X with a certain. Where you put
nudity, you know.
Right.
I got the whole thing from thevery beginning and just it was amazing
message. And not all of themwere nude, you know.
Yeah. But yeah, I guess onJanuary 6th, you guys didn't consider
(07:07):
doing the. A naked bike ridein dc, did you? Have been a little
nippy in DC in January, I'm sure.
Yeah.
So listen, you know, a lot'shappened over the last few months
since we spoke with you. Sowhat. What's your take on these first
eight or nine months of Trump too?
It's Project 2025 in themaking. I follow that manual and
(07:33):
read what's happening.Everything that has happened is right
from the playbook of theProject 2025 manual for leadership.
The next one is Our Guns areComing. They'll come up with some
excuse why you can't own agun. I think it's Pam Bondi pretty
sure is collecting all theinformation of who owns a gun. So
(07:55):
this, this was in the, theprotest in Portland. All the protests
against ICE was in the manualtoo. So it's, there's no guesswork
here. You just read that bookand you'll know what he's up to next.
So where, where do you thinkthis is all headed, Ms. Bam?
You know, it's kind of hard topredict that at this moment, but
(08:16):
I think history has shown usthat fascists have never won. The
people are standing up morethan ever. We've, we've caught on
to their GasLighting andPortland Ice Facility is a definite
proof, you know, it's a movieout there that, you know, it's, it's
ridiculous. And I think we'vecaught on to Trump's gaslighting
(08:37):
and lies and I think even someof the magazines are starting to
catch on. But I, I feel likeit's going to still be rough, but
we got to stand our ground andkeep pushing back no matter what.
No matter what. Because his,his goal is to scare us. They don't
want us out to, you know, protest tomorrow, the no Kings protest.
(08:58):
They want us all scaredbecause Trump's going to come and
bring cops and stop theprotest. Well, whatever. No, that
ain't going to stop me. I'llstill go out there. I think, I think
millions of us will still showup because that's, we have to do
the opposite of what he'strying to do is stop us and that's
what he's scared of. He hasn'tbeen able to stop us. Even at the
(09:18):
Portland ICE facility, theysmoke bombed, which I got with them
and they pushed us down twoblocks. I thought they're going to
leave. The protesters leaveafter that and. Excuse me. No, they
come right back. They cameright back. Pushing back again. It's
amazing to watch them it.
And were you there when MissCosplay Christy Gnome was up on the
(09:41):
roof looking at the guy in thebanana suit?
No, those are the two days Icame back.
Oh, shoot, I wish you would have.
Been there and flipped her thebird for me.
That's the chicken. That's thechicken. I know him.
Yeah, yeah, that's. Oh yeah,it was a chicken. You're right, it
wasn't a banana.
Yeah, he's awesome guy, veryintelligent, level headed.
Yeah. So tell us a little bitmore about these frogs. I know we're
(10:03):
kind of giggling about it, butit's really Taken on as the mascot
for the resistance. Right now, tell us about those people that you
met and, and theirpersonalities and what they're doing
and where they're from.
Just like me. They're not anydifferent than me. They're just average
citizens because that wordantifa is just insane. But they're
(10:26):
just people like you and me ina frog suit standing up for the democracy.
There's not any different thananyone else. I talked to a few, I
got my pictures with them. They're just average people, you
know, knowing that this iswhat we need to do, we got to stand
up against tyranny. Andthat's. This is their job, this is
their message, that you can'tintimidate us no matter what. We'll
(10:47):
just laugh at you. And that'swhy I laugh a lot. Because that's
exactly that. When you gothere and you hear media, it's so
funny because it's. It's nightand day, you know, when you're actually
down there. So they're,they're great people. They're really
wonderful, nice people.
And did you see anybodycausing violence or creating any
disturbances that were worthcalling out the National Guard?
(11:10):
No. I saw one video where aman had spit on an officer and then
they took him down prettyheavy. However, that was a video
I saw. I never would. And thatis not okay. We do not spit on officers.
That's. I don't. That's notokay. But you're going to have a
bad apple or bad player inthere that's going to do something,
you know, stupid and. But therest, no. I witnessed this girl,
(11:35):
she backs up, she puts herhands up. We've become good friends
now. And they pepper sprayedher 2 inches from her face. And both
of the officers were laughing.I saw it. And then she's screaming
she can't breathe because itwas right up in her face. And they
sprayed it for a long time. Ahuge amount of spray went right on
(11:56):
her face. No mask, no gear. That one really still disturbed me
a lot. It makes you want tocry when you see those kind of things.
But all of them are stupid.Like maybe on the blue line an inch,
your foot is an inch, you'renot over them. Just ridiculous. I.
Sometimes you don't even knowwhy they got arrested. I'm asking
everybody, why did that personget. Do you. Do you have any idea
(12:19):
what happened? No. As far aswe see, nothing. Some of them are
saying they're doing that theywant their phones so they just tag
you. They tag people and Thenan hour later, they come out and
get you. One night there was30, don't quote me, maybe 40. The
big geared ones that look likethe army. I mean, chasing this one
(12:39):
person down the street. Itscared the hell. I was like, what
is going on for one person? This lady was. This lady's videotaping
and I'm behind her. She kindof tripped just a little bit because
she was right by the mailbox. The guy, the officer pushed her shoulder.
Two other officers came over, thinking that maybe she's bothering
(13:02):
that officer, and they tookher down to the ground. Oh, my God.
She didn't even mean to fall. You know, she was tripping a little.
She wasn't going after theofficer. Yeah, Everyone that they're
arresting is ridiculous. It's just.
And what about you? Anyinteraction with any of these officers
to have a civil discussion or.
(13:23):
I don't dare I tell you. Ifeel like I'm in Germany because
of who I am. You know, I. I'mnot giving them nothing. I'm staying
on the other side. I'm on theside of the facility, but I'm on
the sidewalk a little waysfrom them. I'm not interacting with
them. You know, they wouldlove to get me on something, something.
(13:44):
And I'm not giving. No, that'sthe problem. I can't get close enough
to get better video right now, because I'm not. And of course, all
the mega media and podcastersare right up there, right in front
of their face. I don't thinkthey would do anything to them. I
don't trust them. Because itdoes feel like you're in Germany
right now. It does. Likethey'll just pick on anybody for
(14:06):
any reason.
And. And they're notaccountable to anybody for the most
part. Although the judging. Itlooks like the judge in Illinois
is putting some restrictionson them, which is great. What about
MAGA instigators? Is thereanybody that you've kind of suspected
is there to start fights?
All of them. Okay, let me talkabout Nick first. Nick Sawyer. What
(14:30):
had happened? He'd gone aroundand was picking on all the female
protesters. Right. And thisone protester, a female. Notice this
and see when you start doingthat. Now, if you're just walking
around recording, reporting, they don't bother you. They. They
just leave you alone becauseyou have a right to be there. Right.
But when you start doing thisharassment where you can rile somebody
(14:54):
up, they don't want you therebecause it. It starts a disturbance.
Right. They had had enough. Hedid that to me. Too. He, he told
me, I got 1500 people arrestedfor January 6th. Oh, really? So he's
real aggressive in histalking. So he's going around, she
confronts him and wants him togo. And when they want you to go,
(15:17):
what they'll do is surroundyou, but they're not going to hurt
you. They're just trying toget you to get out of there. And
if you want to come back andbe decent, you could come back. But
he had put his arm up, he hadshoved her. And he's by this bed.
It's like a. It would probablyat one time been a flower bed, but
it was full of grass. One ladyput her umbrella not open, though
(15:38):
it was closed, between him andthe other female protester because
the way he was acting, to makesure they're separate, right? He
turns and falls into the bed, right? He's telling everybody they
pushed me and that's how Ibroke my camera. And they were trying
to attack me. He spendeverything that really happened.
(15:59):
Now, I didn't catcheverything, but I went up to him,
I said, tell me the truth, because if somebody has hit you,
I'm going to confront them. Itis not okay for you to be hit by
anybody. He wouldn't tell me aword, not a word. And then Katie,
I forgot her last name rightnow, Davis Court. She was following
a 17 year old and her friends.I what I heard she was trying to
(16:23):
find their safe house. Oh myGod. There's no safe house. And the
wind was blowing real hard andthe pole with the wind. Katie got
real close to her, which youdon't do. Plus the girls are looking
back and here's her bodyguardwith a gun. He's a bodyguard. They're
scared to death. They don'tknow who these people are. They don't
know the reporters, right? They're just young girls. They're
(16:46):
so. They're walking fasterbecause they're scared somebody's
coming to kidnap them orwhatever they're going to do. When
she gets too close to theprotester and the pole barely hit
her in the eye, just a little.Gave her a little mark. But that
was her own fault. I don'tknow if you've been to event and
behind flags, but if you'renot careful, you'll run right into
it, right? And that's similarto what happened. So I told Katie,
(17:09):
don't put out any propagandawhat happened. You know, they don't
tell you though. They waittill they get on the news and spin
it. But nobody had hit her.Nobody hit her on purpose. That,
that was an outright lie. Hello?
Go ahead, Mo, your turn.
Oh, sorry about that. Yeah,we'll, yeah, we can, we can edit
that part out. Pam. You know,we had some folks on earlier this
(17:31):
week coupled down in Florida.Husband's a Vietnam War veteran,
no criminal record, but he,he's doing postcards, you know, to
elected officials, and he'dsent one to the chief financial officer
in Florida. And all thepostcard said was, you lack values.
And then a couple weeks later,he's got two armed police officers
(17:51):
with bulletproof vestsknocking on his door, wanting to
talk to him about thepostcard. And then you've got, you
know, what's happening out inPortland. You've got, you know, John
Bolton just got indictedyesterday, and James Comey and, And
all of that. It seems likethis whole thing is just an effort
to intimidate people and shutthem up and, you know, let Trump
(18:13):
and his cronies do whateverthey want. Is. Is that your impression?
Absolutely. And you can'tallow the fear to get in your way.
You just can't allow it.Otherwise, they're winning. You know,
bullies. What, what happenswith bullies? You know, you let them
keep bullying you and they'llkeep it up. You have to take a stand
(18:33):
at some point.
Yeah, well, I was glad tohear, you know, you, you know, you
were saying before you got theletter from Mike Pence that you were
getting kind of down and, youknow, wondering whether the effort
was worth it. But it soundslike you're re. Energized and are
still, still, still out there, taking it to them and standing up
for democracy.
Yeah, I think it's because Iwas lied to about the election being
(18:56):
stolen. Went to prison for 60days listening to their propaganda
and Trump's brainwashing, youknow, he hijacked their brain. They're
coming after me, but they'rereally coming after you. I stand
in the way. So he made himselfa king, you know, a savior. And I
believed all that. I thoughtthe Democrats were communists and
(19:16):
they were going to take awayall our. What, the projection was
them. They're the ones doingwhat I thought the Democrats were
doing back then. And so now Iknow I'm on the right side of history.
And so I, My gloves, my glovesare off for me verbally, you know,
where I share what I say. Idon't care. Because now it's all
(19:38):
about the truth, the facts, and that's all that matters to me.
Even if they were hittinginnocent, you know, the officers,
I would have reported thatbecause you can't be on either side
when you're out there inPortland, you've got to be honest
with people and tell them whatyou really see it. And I thought,
I will. I'll. I'll. If I seeviolence, I'll report it. But I.
There's nothing out there. There's nothing to report except
(20:00):
for ICE and MEGA coming thereand causing all the chaos.
Yeah. It seems like, you know, there's an effort to try to provoke,
you know, some kind of a.
Yes.
A violent response. And Ithink, you know, then they'll use
that as justification formartial law. You know, Trump said
when he ran in 2024, if you'llcome out and vote for me this time,
(20:23):
you'll never have to vote again.
Yeah.
And I wouldn't be surprisedthat, you know, if he can find a.
Some reason to invoke martiallaw, then, you know, we may not have
midterm elections in 2026 or apresidential election in 2028.
That's a very scary thought, huh?
It is.
I don't see that happening, though. I think the people are rising
(20:44):
up like they're. The problemis they underestimate the Democrats.
They really do. They thinkpeople don't even have guns. I mean,
you know, my neighbor in SouthCarolina, we have guns. I said, well,
don't use them. But, you know, they underestimate the Democrats.
I think they're stronger andsmarter than they really realize.
(21:05):
We got some good people inCongress right now doing all they
can to push back. We need tosupport them. Need to support them
and tell them.
Thank you, and we need toelect more of them in 2026. We can
win a majority in the House. Then we can put the brakes on some
of this nonsense. You want toask because, you know, you were.
You go back a few years, youwere part of the. You know, you're
(21:28):
on the other side. And, youknow, you mentioned facts. You know,
I posted something a week orso ago about, you seen what was happening
with farmers because of thetariffs in soybean farmers. You know,
last year, they sold. Overhalf of all the soybeans grown in
America were sold to China. And now because of the tariffs, China's
not buying any. And I postedon social media, it was just showing
(21:53):
soybean prices. When Trump wasin office the first time, I think
it was like $12 a bushel. WhenBiden was in office, they're like
$16 a bushel, and now they're$10 a bushel because there's no market
for soybeans. And I hadsomeone on the other side, a couple
of folks on the other side, you know, oh, you know, you're a
libtard and that's fake news. And it was just facts, you know,
(22:14):
it was data. But the otherside, it doesn't seem to matter what
the facts are that they justinstantly dismiss anything that runs
contrary to the narratives. How do we punch through that bubble?
Or can we.
No, you can't, because he'sprogrammed him to believe no matter
what we're showing them, it'sfake. It's already programmed to
(22:35):
not look at that, even thoughit's factual. It might even be coming
from Trump. You know, I mean, that's how delusional and programmed
they are. They are not goingto believe anything we're saying
or doing right now. It's goingto take a decade to get these people
unprogrammed. But I wouldn'tworry about what this. And they're
(22:56):
just repeating Trump. That'sall right.
Well, do you have hope? Imean, obviously, you know, you've,
you saw the light and, and,you know, came back to, back to reality.
Do you have hope that thereare a lot more Pam Hemphills out
there?
Not in the mega side? No, Ithink they're too far gone right
now. I have hope and faith inthe Democrat Party, period. I believe
(23:19):
in them. I know they're goodpeople. They love this nation. They're
real patriots and they willsave our democracy. I, I truly believe
that because evil never wins.It only delays. Right there. This
is a delay. We're going tocome out well, and it's going to
be hard and tough and it mighttake a little while, but because
(23:39):
history proves it. When hasfascism ever won in the world? Never.
Yeah, because the good peoplestand up.
Well, now that you've kind ofgot your second wind, what's, what's
the future hold for you?
Well, I don't know yet. Youknow, I kind of take it a day at
a time. I probably may end upgoing back to Portland if the National
Guard or the Insurrection actis put in place. We'll see. I miss
(24:04):
those people that became likemy family. I mean, I've got about
2:20 that I just missed dearlyand made a good friend with two doctors.
I mean, can you believe thedoctors are out there? I was surprised.
So we'll see. That's what I'm,I'm hoping I can get back to Portland.
I want to tell you real quickbefore I forget. I, I'm wearing On
(24:26):
the London Telegram, I have anarticle out that they interviewed
me when I was down there. Andthey show a picture of this bracelet
that I'm wearing. It's blackand it's worth more than a million
dollars. It's made out of therubber bullets that were shot on
the protesters. So it makes mecry when I wear it. But that's. This
(24:48):
is my way of remembering thatthese people are suffering for us,
taking all the risks thatthey're taking just to stand up for
our democracy. And I hope youcan do anything you can to help them
because they need our help.
Yep.
Well, we'll post a picture ofthat along with the, with the podcast
(25:09):
so people can see it. And thenis there anywhere that people could.
You would suggest people go tosupport the protesters or any advice?
No. I don't know. They all putout their own individual link. Right
now. I have them on my. I dohave them on X. That a couple of
them supporting Robbie Road steamer.
(25:30):
And Robbie is unbelievable,isn't he?
Yeah. I have video with him.I'm. I got him. I got there just
on time after you gotarrested. So we're dancing. You know,
I thought, oh, we're going toget arrested for dancing. And then
there's that young lady thatgot the pepper spray 2 inches to
her face.
She's.
Yeah, I saw that. I saw thatvideo. That was very disturbing.
(25:50):
Very disturbing. So I putlinks to there because, you know,
I can't, you know, I don'ttake any money for anybody. But I,
I will be posting their linksif you want any of my X pages. Pam
Hempfield, 79.
All right, Pam. Yeah, let'sgive us, give us those again so folks
(26:11):
can go follow you and followyour work.
Okay. All righty.
So what are they, Pam?
Oh, I don't have it in frontof me. They're on my.
Okay.
They're on my X page.
Okay, cool. I will, I'll.We'll add that to the end of the
podcast here in our wrap upand make sure that folks have those.
But Pam, hey, thank you somuch for coming back to talk to us.
(26:33):
You know, you're a hero of, ofmine. I think your message is the
right message. It's not aboutyou. It's about our country and democracy
and, and mo. And I really wantto thank you for coming on. Muck
you again.
Yep, absolutely.
Oh, but no, thank you. You'rethe heroes and those protesters out
there, the true patriots.Together we're gonna, we're gonna,
(26:57):
we're gonna make this countryback to being a democracy again.
All right.
I'm glad you're on our side.
Oh, me too.
Yeah, yeah. You know, just onemore thing, Pam. You know, we've
got these no Kings eventscoming up tomorrow. What, you know,
give some advice to people on,on what they should expect and, and
(27:19):
what, what is the rightetiquette at these events?
Well, this is just my thoughtsis that a red state like I'm in right
now won't be that. I don'tthink it'd be that dangerous. They're
putting out, you know, a lotof stuff to be careful that Trump
wants to do this. It is in theproject 2025. What he wants to do
is stop these kind ofprotests. There could be some problems,
(27:43):
you know, but I got anattitude. I don't care. Just go out
there. We're all black. Looklike they, you know, they call them
antifas. We're all black. Youknow, wear a frog suit. Go laugh
at his threats and what he'sgoing to do with this event tomorrow.
We don't care because we'regoing to stand up for our democracy
no matter what Trump isthreatening to do, because we're
(28:06):
not listening to him. We'relistening to ourselves and knowing
that we're doing the rightthing by standing up against this
government and we're going tocontinue. So you got to have a message
if it's how you're dressed, beno matter what. We're always peaceful.
You see anybody not beingpeaceful, ask them to leave. They
have some guidelines and somesuggestions. They're not rules, but
(28:29):
for you to follow. And I wouldhope that you read those and follow
them exactly what they'reasking. But get out there. Get out
there. Don't let Trump scare you.
Exactly. Exactly. Well, thatis such great advice. And again,
