El detonante de la locura de Anastasia comienza cuando un día llega hasta su puerta Basilio, una persona sin escrúpulos que se dedica a engañar a diferentes personas. A la bella mujer le informa que ella es la única heredera de la desaparecida familia Romanov, y a cambio de recuperar su fortuna y joyas, tendrá que solventar los gastos, por lo que Anastasia sin pensarlo firma documentos para hipotecar la casa de su madre. Josefa al descubrir el robo de su hija, las corre de la casa, por lo que Anastasia y su hija Dayana llegan a vivir a una vecindad. La calidad de vida a la que ahora está sometida Anastasia hace más grande su problema de discriminación por lo que no para de humillar a sus vecinas o al novio de su hija, por no ser rubios y de ojos claros como ella. Dayana investiga el motivo que su madre tuvo para llegar a la obsesión tan grave y al descubrirlo hace todo por ayudarla, y gracias a Josefa, el malvado Basilio recibe su castigo.
