The USS Enterprise, famous forits fictional Tritanium and
uranium construction in the1960s Star Trek series, is set
to appear in the 137th annualRose Bowl Parade on January 1st,
2026.
This rendition of the iconicStarship will be crafted from
gray lettuce seeds and whitecoconut, celebrating Star Trek's

(01:56):
60th anniversary.
Paramount Pictures and CBS aremarking the occasion with a beam
me up Scotty moment on theflute.
Instead of Captain Kirk beingtransported by Montgomery Scott,
Artistic Entertainment Serviceswill use golden, red millet, and
blue statace to createtransporter pads.
Now, Kyle Amarin, AES FloatProject Magic, explained that a

(02:20):
person will enter onetransporter, a screen will
simulate a de-energizing field, and the person will appear, will
disappear only to reappear inthe second transporter a few
feet away.
Now, this illusion will beachieved by a set of adult
twins.
The Space for Everybody floatalso hopes to convey hope,
inclusivity, exploration, andunity, according to CBS.

(02:43):
When the sci-fi franchiselaunched in 1966, it was noble
for its diverse cast, includingMichelle Nichols, as Lieutenant
Hura, who helped Lair recruitNASA applicants.
Currently, the float is in thefabrication stage, with painting
to follow before the floralelements are added.
Amarin noted that many AESpainters are big trekkies and

(03:05):
are compl and are eager toaccurately depict the Starship
Enterprise.
Now the float's design featuresthe Enterprise soaring at the
rear, the Golden Transponders inthe middle, and the Star Trek
Command Bridge at the frontwhere characters like Kirk and
Spock famously sought newcivilizations.
Additionally, the float willpromote the new series Star Trek

(03:25):
Starfleet Academy, premieringnext year on Paramount Plus,
with a representation of itscampus and the Golden Gate
Bridge.
While Paramount and CBS haven'tannounced which Star Trek actors
will be on the float, past RoseParade Grand Marshals included
William Shatner and LeVarBurton, Scott Lamb, AS floral
director and longtime Trekkie, expressed his and his team's

(03:47):
excitement for the project, particularly hoping to see
original cast members likeSpock, Kur Sulu, and Hura on the
float.
So who would you like to see onthe float?
Um, you know.
I guess we could always haveWilliam Shatner.
He's pretty much up foranything.
I think he's just trying to keepbusy, you know, so the Grim

(04:07):
Reaper doesn't find him.
Or, you know.
Why not have have you know trekmembers from all different
series on the float?
So have someone from start theoriginal series, the next
generation, Voyager, DS9, youknow, and so forth and so on.
You know.

(04:28):
And you know, they can all forma chorus line, I guess, start
kicking.

(07:48):
Now, the premiere of the JamesGunn film also spurred increased

This standalone project, basedon Grant Morrison's

unaware of.
And the Muschetti is slated todirect, with the script penned

(10:01):
by an undisclosed writer.
Earlier this summer, J Gunn athighlighted Batman has his
primary concern within DC,stating, quote, I'm not writing
Batman, but I am working withthe writer of Batman and trying
to get it right because he'sincredibly important to DC as is
Wonder Woman.
So outside of the stuff that I'mgoing to that I'm doing in the
projects that are activelygoing, our two priorities are

(10:24):
finishing our Wonder Woman andour Batman scripts.
Unquote.
As the early production processuh progresses, casting naturally
becomes a focus.
When asked if this integrationof Batman would be older as a
father figure, Gunn responded,no, I think you have to wait to
see the movie.
Some things have changed, plentyof things are in flux on what

(10:46):
his situation is with Damien'sparentage and all that stuff.
So I wouldn't take any of it.
Yeah, I mean, the actor whowants to listen, first of all, I
can't tell you the amount of bigactors that have told me they
want to be Batman.
I think you'd have a hard, harder time find actors who
don't want to be Batman.
He's the one character everyonewants to play, that's the truth.

(11:11):
Now other upcoming DCU projectsinclude a Viol Davis Waller
series, the spinoff showLanterns, the Superman Sequel
Man of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, starring Millie Alcock.
Gunn recently confirmed toDeadline that there are no
current plans for a third seasonof Peacemaker.

The extent of franchise coverageremains to be seen, especially
after Final Fantasy's heavyfocus on seven on seven and

(17:56):

Or 14, excuse me.
So you know what do you think?
Magic the Gathering goes StarTrek.
I still have the original StarTrek uh card game.
I still have a whole box ofthose cards.
I think if I play I played itonce.
So you know I'm looking to, youknow.

(18:21):
Interested.
I don't think I'll get them, butyou know, I'm interested to see,
you know, what kind of what kindof artwork there is.
Anyway, some uh really excitingnews.
There's a new Simpsons movie inthe works, and it's coming out
on July 23rd, 2027.
The second Simpsons movie to hitthe screen big screen will fill

(18:43):
a date for Disney that'ssimultaneously being vacated by
an untitled Marvel movie.
The Simpsons movie was releasedback in July of 2007 and was a
hit, opening to 74 million andmaking 183 million domestic and
more than 536 million worldwide.
It was at the time when TVproperties, even if they were
still on television, could excelon the big screen.

(19:05):
Now David Silverman directed theSimpsons movie, and r they'll uh
but uh we have very little intelon what this new movie is uh all
about.
Uh it does take place roughlyabout what the 40th anniversary
of The Simpsons, so you know, could this be a series finale

(19:25):
for The Simpsons?
You know, wrap it up with a withthe with the movie.
Yeah.
We never we we won't know untilwe get there, I guess.
Anyway, video game publisherElectronic Arts, known for its
popular franchises such asMadden NFL and The Sims, is set
to be acquired in a$55 billionprivate transaction.

(19:46):
This leverage buyout, thelargest of its kind to date, is

causing EA shares to surge by15%, followed by an additional
5% gain in pre-market trading onMonday.
Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA,stated, quote, our rip, creative
and passionate teams at EA havedelivered extraordinary

(20:28):
experiences for hundreds ofmillions of fans, built some of

our business.
The moment is a powerfulrecognition of their remarkable
work.
Looking ahead, we will continueto push the boundaries of
entertainment, sports, andtechnology, unlocking new
opportunities.
Unquote.
Prior to the officialannouncement, reports on Friday
that EA was finalizing a deal togo private at a$50 billion

(20:50):
valuation had already driven upthe company shares by 15%.
This pushed EA's market value toapproximately$48 billion by
Friday's close, a share price of$193.35.
EA, a fixture in video gamepublishing since the 80s, with
titles tied to the NFL, the NBA,ProSoccer, and first-person
shoes like Battlefield, operatesin a rapidly evolving landscape.

(21:15):
The industry has seensignificant growth in mobile and
social gaming, a shift towardsfree-to-play models with a
diverse range of smallerdevelopers, and a decline in the
market-defining influence ofmajor consoles like Sony's
PlayStation and Microsoft'sXbox.
Despite remaining a powerfulforce, EA's reliance on
franchises has recently led tostock vitality.
Concerns over its football gamepipeline caused a double-digit

(21:38):
drop in shares, althoughoptimism surrounding the
upcoming release of Battlefield6 recently boosted the stock,
the Entertainment SoftwareAssociation's reported that
total spending on video games in2024 remained flat, with 2023 at
59.3 billion.
Now the Wall Street Journalnoted that modern leveraged
buyouts are less risky due tothe increased resources of

(22:00):
sovereign wealth funds andtop-tier investors.
Unlike past LBOs, often backedby numerous private equity firms
that face strategicdisagreements and heavy debt
burdens, current models involvefewer, more financially robust
sponsors.
This particular deal, iffinalized, would easily surpass
the 32 billion excluding debtrecord set by the 2007 TXU

(22:22):
transaction, making it thelargest leverage buyout in
history.
Yeah, I'm I'm of mixed mixedthoughts about this.
You know, Saudi Arabia is isjust bad news.
Period.
And have Jared Kushner be a partof this too, just do I stop

(22:52):
playing The Sims because ofthis?
Do I know what do I do?
Who knows?

collaborating with artist ValeroGiangiordano, known for Nemesis
Rogues Gallery and Spawn,Giangiordano, has been working

(25:21):
on the project since early 2025and considers it his most
ambitious undertaking as hedepicts the entire world at war
with fantasy creatures.
Miller describes the project asIndependence Day meets Game of
Thrones, envisioning dragons, barbarians, and other hordes
emerging from a New York Cityportal to conquer America and
then the rest of the world.

(25:42):
Despite the fantasticalelements, the story aims to be
grounded.
The Kickstarter runs throughOctober and is for a book from

which acquired the companyMiller World in 2017 and adapted
titles like Jupiter's Legacy andThe Chosen One for the screen.

the game, but in an apocalypticsetting.
The project has received ascripted series commitment and
hails from the same creativeteam behind the CW's Riverdale
and Netflix's ChillingAdventures of Sabrina, including
writer Aguarda Sacha, GregBrlante's Brlanti Productions,
and Warner Brothers Television.
Penned by Aguarda Sacha,Afterlife with Archie reimagines

(26:51):
Riverdale as a zombie-infestednightmare-fueled hellscape.
Exact producers for the seriesinclude Aguarda Sacha and Jimmy
Gibbons, Brillante, SarahSchechter, and Leia Linden
Redman and John Goldwater.
Aguarde Sache, a prolific film,TV, and comic book writer,

(27:12):

Lauren Bouchard conclude itsfifth season.
Michael Thorne, president of FoxTelegram Entertainment,
expressed gratitude to theshow's creators, cast, and crew,
acknowledging the five playerseasons The Great North

(28:58):
contributed to the animationdomination landscape.
The cancellation of The GreatNorth finalizes Fox's decision
on its 2025 bubble shows.
This group also included dramasRescue High Surf, Accused, Alert
Missing Persons Unit, and TheCleaning Lady.
Among these, Accused is beingheld for a potential future
return as an event series whilethe others have been cancelled

(29:19):

Science of the Great Norseimpending cancellation emerged
in April when it was excludedfrom Fox's significant deal with
Fox TV Animation.
This deal included four-yearrenewals for The Simpsons,
Family Guy Bob's Burgers, andreturn of American Dad to the
network.
With the addition of AmericanDad and the renewals of Fox's
