Inspired by the movie WILD, David O'Sullivan set out from Ireland to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada on March 22, 2017. Two weeks later, he arrived in Idyllwild, California where he took what is known as a zero day. He emailed friends and family, he made a purchase at a local outdoor store, he debated whether to wait for the post office to open the next morning in hope that the charger he ordered for his Kindle would be there.
On April 7th, David stepped back onto the trail...and vanished forever.
No one would notice he was missing until May. The search for David would not begin until July.
What happened to David O'Sullivan? Did he disappear intentionally? Did he run into trouble in the snowy San Jacinto's? Or did he meet with someone sinister?
Today, Deeds and I discuss why it took so long to realize he was missing, what happened once it was realized that something was terribly wrong, and the delayed (and continued) search for David O'Sullivan.
