In the heart of Iowa City, Steven Sueppel, a respected former executive of Hills Bank and Trust Company, was charged with embezzling over half a million dollars. But the legal charges were just the tip of a chilling iceberg. As the courtroom drama unfolded, Sueppel's dark secret came to light—a horrific crime that shocked the nation.

On February 20, 2008, Sueppel stood before the court, pleading not guilty to charges of embezzlement and money laundering. Little did anyone know that this case would soon reveal a far more devastating reality. Sueppel was ultimately identified as the perpetrator of the Iowa City Sueppel Murders, a gruesome act that claimed the lives of his wife and their four young children, ages 3, 5, 7, and 10.

Join us as we unravel the layers of this tragic story, exploring how a trusted banker could be at the center of such a horrifying event.
