There are artists whose presence we take for granted. They had hits, and those hits define them in our memories. But we might overlook how long and rich their contributions have been, and miss out on some of their greatest music.
The Pointer Sisters are one of those artists. We all probably know “I’m So Excited” and “Jump” and all their 1980s hits. We might even know a couple of their 1970s hits. But I guarantee you’re unaware of the majority of their music and history.
This episode will correct that. It spotlights the first of several artists I’ll cover in Season 8 who deserve to be better known.
