On today's edition of the cast, we take a look at the origins of grunge music and its place on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks charts, and how Nirvana's debut on the chart back in 1991 signaled a seismic shift in music and created a whole new sub culture in the process. We examine how some other grunge acts including Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains flourished in this era, and made a name for themselves in the short lived era that grunge had. We also take a look at how some female singer-songwriters flourished on the chart in the mid 90's like Sarah McLachlan, and why they suddenly vanished from the airwaves as radio programmers shifted to a more male dominated sound that continued throughout the decade, further highlighting the sexism and ignoring women's contributions to music. We also play a tune from Boston's own Letters to Cleo, the classic "Here and Now".

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
