Life has its seasons, and lately, I've been going through one of change and transition. It hasn't always been easy, but I've found some tools that have been helping me navigate these shifts with more ease and positivity. One of the most powerful tools I’ve been using is the mindset I learned from the book The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. This concept has helped me realize that too often, I’m focused on the "gap"—what’s missing, what I haven’t achieved yet—instead of celebrating the "gain"—how far I’ve come.

In this episode of the podcast, I share how I’ve been able to shift my thinking and why it’s been such a game changer for me.

Seeing the Gain Instead of the Gap

Before learning about The Gap and the Gain, I often caught myself focusing on what I hadn’t done, what still wasn’t "perfect," and how much further I had to go. But I’ve realized that this mindset was holding me back. Now, I consciously focus on my progress—on the "gain." It’s a simple, yet powerful, shift in perspective that has allowed me to feel more accomplished, less stressed, and more motivated.

I talk about this in the podcast because I know I’m not alone in this. So many of us get stuck in the "gap," feeling like we’re not enough or that we’re falling behind. But when we focus on the gain, we start to see our lives and our progress in a new, more positive light.

Energy Hygiene: Protecting My Peace

Another important change I’ve been making is working on my energy hygiene. This includes setting boundaries that help me preserve my energy and stay in a good mental space. One big shift? Putting my phone away an hour or two before bed. Scrolling through social media late at night was draining my energy and making it hard to wind down. Now, I focus on gratitude, often journaling before bed, which helps me reflect on the positive aspects of my day.

I also make time for self-care, something that has become non-negotiable during this time of change. Whether it’s cleaning up my house, eliminating clutter, or simply taking time to breathe, these small acts of self-care have helped me feel more in control and at peace.

How It's Helping My Life: Finances, Relationships & More

What’s amazing is how these shifts are impacting other areas of my life. My finances, relationships, and even my activewear business, Muve Life, are all benefiting. With more clarity and focus, I’m able to approach things with a more positive and proactive mindset. It feels like a domino effect—once I started focusing on the gain and cleaning up my energy, everything else started to fall into place.

If you’re going through a season of change or just feeling stuck, I hope my experiences can help you. It’s about making small shifts, staying present, and being kind to yourself along the way. Tune in to this episode, and let’s navigate these changes together.
