Abandoned Places in the United States
Cauldrons of Niagara Falls When you think of Niagara Falls, what comes to mind? I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of huge, powerful waterfalls. Well, while Niagara Falls is an absolutely beautiful place, it’s also the scene of dozens of tragedies over the years. Many visitors flock to Niagara Falls to witness the breathtaking view of the falls. Others, however, like to stop by to check out the disturbing and creepy Cauldrons of Niagara Falls. The waterfalls are located at the edge of the cliff, which is incredibly dangerous for those who are trying to take pictures. Trying to take a picture from the top of the cliff (or even just getting close to the edge) will put you and your family in extreme danger.
Abandoned Places in Canada
Camp Faraday Camp Faraday is a former military camp in Manitoba that was used to house the female soldiers of the RCMP and the Canadian army. The camp is now a ghost town that is the biggest wilderness in Canada. Camp Faraday is located just northwest of Winnipeg and was abandoned in 1968. Since then, the city has grown around the camp, it still looks the same as it did in the 60s. Camp Faraday is a totally unoccupied town. The buildings are still in perfect condition with no sign of civilization or habitation. Although it is not officially closed down, nobody is staying here any longer. The only way to visit this eerie town is to sneak in through the now rusted fence. Camp Faraday is now a ghost town and an absolute perfect place for a creepy mystery.
Abandoned Places in Europe
Esteybanan Located on the island of Mljet in Croatia, Esteybanan used to be a summer retreat that doubled as a guesthouse during the winter months. Visitors had to board a ferry from neighboring islands and cross a channel that led to a runway where they were then flown to the island. The island was abandoned in the 1960’s after the airport on Mljet was closed. However, the ferry service remained. The place has been completely deserted for over 40 years now, yet it still doesn’t feel creepy at all. The Tragic Theses Factory Dating back to the 1920’s, the Tragic Theses Factory in Copenhagen was once a factory that produced the popular Walkman headphones.
Conclusion
I don’t really know if these places are haunted or not. I haven’t been there to verify the spooky legends or experiences these places may have to offer. However, I am positive that if any of these places were haunted, I definitely would not be able to sleep in a bed without my glasses on or go into the dark. Therefore, I definitely wouldn’t be able to spend the night in any of these places. The thought of seeing ghosts or being in any sort of scary situation is just not something I want to encounter, especially alone. I will leave you with these questions and then you can judge these haunted locations for yourself: Are these places really haunted? What happened to the people who lived there? What was there life like when it was abandoned?
