This is a promotional episode. Sen sat against the tree,
contentedly listening as Mouser ate.
When he opened his eyes again, he was shocked to find that the
sharp scale Iguanodon, which wassignificantly larger than his
three eyed cat, was now reduced to bones.

(00:23):
Wow Mouser, you must have been hungry.
Sen said out loud. It was nice having something to
talk to. I hope All the time where I was
just living in my own head didn't make me strange.
I'm not strange, Mauser, right? Mauser looked up at him and
mewed. It's cute round face was stained
bright red with blood. Sen laughed loudly.

(00:47):
The cat beast really was like Yara, except with blood instead
of ice cream. Reflexively, he took out a
cloth, wetted it with a water flask, and began to wipe the
mess off Mauser's face. The cat beast purred while it
was clean. Somewhere in the distance, Sen
heard a rumbling, but it was hard to place the sound.

(01:10):
There were many large creatures scattered throughout the
mountains. The most tended not to travel
through forested areas like the one he was in now, preferring
the open spaces higher up. Mauser didn't seem to notice the
rumbling, which seemed to fade into the distance for now.
When Sen finished, the cat beastwasted no time in toppling over

(01:31):
and closing its three eyes, falling fast asleep.
Its first meal was so massive itdidn't have the energy to do
anything but digest. It made happy noises in its
sleep, rocking slowly on its engorged belly.
Sen shook his head at the silly thing.
He tried to remember to researchthe rules of pet beast souls

(01:53):
when he got back to the shelter, then took a large strip of cloth
from his sack intended for bandages in case something
happened on the hunt, and fashioned a sort of child
carrier against his chest. Then he scooped up his new pet
and placed it gently in the carrier.
It didn't even stir. Sen stood up and shook off his

(02:16):
rest. He was ready to keep going now.
Mutant creatures were hard to find, and these mountains were
vast. He left the woods and began his
long hunt through the Tekken mountain range.
It was difficult terrain, but Sen had built up his stamina and
had many tools that were useful for climbing.

(02:37):
A common problem for the wealthyand God Sanctuary was that they
start off buying beast souls in gear and beast flesh.
Even if they couldn't buy MutantBeast Flesh, they were still
starting off with a very high initial power.
Plus they would most likely havelearned advanced martial arts in
private school and would have already scheduled lessons for

(03:00):
hyper Geno arts, ready to learn them as soon as they'd consumed
enough Geno points. Because of this, they didn't
learn to appreciate the tools they had, and this had a severe
impact on effectiveness both on the hunt and while exploring.
They may start to favor a singletool or weapon, forgetting they

(03:21):
even have certain skills or beast souls to someone.
After all, they came by their things so easily, they most
likely forgot where they got most of them.
Sen's experience was far different.
Every single tool he had was a result of something he had to do
in the Sanctuary, and every single ability he had was

(03:42):
steeped in significance for him.He was used to getting by with
nothing at all and with making do with what he had.
If he could survive with a smallalloy knife, he should be able
to thrive with everything he hadnow.
So when Sen climbed, he used everything he had to move with
maximum speed and efficiency. Just because he was wandering

(04:05):
didn't mean he was going to waste any time.
He used the Sacred Blood Armor for its invigorating aspect,
allowing his limbs to stay strong and enabling him to pull
himself upwards with greater power.
Jade Skin, too, helped his body recover from the physical strain
of vertical exploration. He could send his energy to the

(04:26):
hands when they were weak, pushing the fatigue from his
fingers through his focus. The most useful tool, however,
was his new Ghost Haunt ability.Using the new grappling Hyper
Geno art, Zen could leverage hismomentum in ways he never would
have been able to before. He could swing himself up at
tremendous speed, and his additional grip strength allowed

(04:49):
him to utilize holds on the sheer cliffs that were useless
to the average person. He could see the way the weight
of the rocks lay on each other and used it to avoid brittle
sections of Cliff and predict future hand holds.
Every once in a while, he would hear that same rumbling as
earlier. Sen had begun to suspect that

(05:10):
somewhere in the mountains, there was a large herd of
creatures roaming about. He figured he'd try to stay away
from the herd, as they were mostlikely all primitive creatures,
and if there really were mutantsamong them, they would outnumber
him too greatly. Even with his Mouser strapped to
his chest, he was really huntingalone, which magnified the risks

(05:33):
he'd take when adding additionalopponents.
Besides, this was a perfect opportunity to practice Ghost
hunt. It wasn't just for climbing,
after all. It was for fighting.
He had finally reached 90 primitive Geno points, so close
to maxing out. Then he could really ignore
primitive creatures altogether and focus on obtaining the rarer

(05:56):
Geno points he'd need to Max outeverything.
Then he'd reach Sacred Blood Aristocrat and never have to
worry about anything ever again.Simple.
At least, that's what Sen told himself as he squared off with a
banshee sloth on top of a plateau.

(06:17):
Mauser watched from a perch nearby as Sen ducked under the
giant sloths heavy paw. It's long claws sheared right
through a rock, leaving deep scores.
It used its powerful claws to climb about in the mountains,
and they could just as easily Pierce flesh as stone.
Actually, easier. Much easier.

(06:38):
Sen considered, as the beast connected with his side.
Luckily, he was wearing his sacred armor, which absorbed the
blow successfully. Mauser mewed, impressed.
Sen could have killed the beast easily, it was only primitive
after all, but he wanted to practice Ghost Haunt.
It was dangerous to practice a grappling move on opponents who

(07:00):
really wanted the user dead, as it always necessitated getting
in close. No matter how your opponent
fought, a grappler would have topass through their ideal combat
range in order to enact their own plan.
This made grappling an extremelyinteractive fighting style as
opposed to longer ranged weapons.

(07:22):
But rather than interacting withyour opponent's defense, as
grappling could usually nullify it entirely, a good grab was
ideal for destabilizing and attacking an opponent's guard.
The grappler had to focus on theenemy's offense.
Sen was learning this now as he fought the Sloth.

(07:43):
The creature was slow, although not as slow as its name implied,
but Sen still had to note and respond to every attack it made.
When the creature missed a swing, he went into action,
acting out the moves he had seenin the class with alterations to
better take advantage of his opponent's size.
He reached his hand out to touchthe back of his opponent's

(08:05):
swiping paw. As soon as he made contact, he
would not break it. This was a core tenant of Ghost
Hunt. He managed to follow the paw
forward and pulled away from thesloth, which screeched as it
stumbled forward. This loss of control, however
momentary, was all Sin needed. He scrambled over the beast's

(08:26):
toppling body, always keeping atleast one part of himself
engaged with the beast, influencing its momentum.
He did not allow it a moment to regain proper footing, sliding
behind it with one fluid motion. He grabbed the creature's leg
and brought it up to its paw andheld them together.

(08:47):
The creature rocked on its stomach and swung its free arm
helplessly. Sen had it in an unbreakable
hold. When he was satisfied that he
had bested the sloth using GhostHunt, he activated Jade's skin
and finished the creature off. He smiled at Mauser, who jumped
off its vantage point and joinedhim by the sloth as he began to

(09:09):
slice into it. Mauser wasted no time in
beginning to eat. Sen had developed a sort of
system with Mauser. The cat piece would get to dig
in while the flesh was still rawand Sen would eventually stop it
and cure or roast the rest of the flesh.
The cat was grumpy about it at first, but soon learned to

(09:29):
expect a patch telling it that the rest of the meat was off
limits. The hunt went on like this for a
couple more days. You would find creatures
wandering the mountains and use them to further his ghost hot
skills before killing them and eating them.
Soon he completely maxed out on primitive Geno points.

(09:51):
That was his second level of Geno points fully completed.
He had the important final meal in a valley between the peaks
and then sat around the fire with Mauser.
He was about to close his eyes when he began to hear the
rumbling again. No matter, he thought, drawing
Mauser close to him. It'll pass like it always does.

(10:15):
But for some reason, this time, the rumbling did not pass.
The sound got louder and louder. This time, it was getting close
enough for Mauser to notice, andthe cat beast mewed nervously
into Sen's neck. Sen furrowed his brow and looked
in the direction of the sound. It was coming from somewhere in

(10:36):
the valley, and whatever it was,it was big.
Then he heard something else, the sound of a man breathing and
running very hard. Suddenly a very ragged man
emerged from behind a bend in the valley.
The man approached quickly and Sen could see that he was
wearing what was once fine hunting clothes.

(10:57):
Now though this man was stained in mud and blood.
His own doesn't seem like it. Who is this guy?
Sen double checked that he had UN summoned his sacred beast
soul armor, which had become a habit.
Then he waited a moment for the ragged man to reach him.
The man was horribly out of breath, he smelled awful.

(11:17):
Sen held up a hand. No closer now.
Who are you? What do you want help.
The man rasped and fell to the ground, wrapping his arms around
Sen's legs. Sen recoiled and tried to wrench
them free without hurting the man.
Help me, they're they're coming.Sen's brow furrowed.

(11:37):
What's coming? I'll give you money, anything,
just Get Me Out of here. The man hugged Sen's legs
tighter. Sen rolled his eyes.
Can't you just tell me what you're running from?
That's when he saw it. At least 100 Mamo Beasts were
charging right towards them. Sen smacked the stranger on the

(11:59):
back of his head. Stop wasting time and follow me.
Then he began to run. Who is this mysterious stranger
and where did these terrifying mammo beasts come from?

Sen watched in horror as the countless mammo beasts charged
down the valley towards him, Mauser and his new companion,
this mammo beast heard was almost all fully grown.
Although they were only primitive creatures, their
numbers made them dangerous. On top of that, this was their

(12:43):
territory. The mammal beast attacked by
charging, and if it was alone and on open ground, a hunter
could easily sidestep the hard to turn attack.
But when over 100 of them filleda valley from wall to wall,
there was little room for their target to maneuver, but not no
room to maneuver. As Sen turned, pulling the

(13:06):
ragged stranger to his feet, he spotted a vine hanging from a
plateau in the direction of the charging beasts.
As he began to pull the man towards the vine, the man
screamed. No, not that way, you idiot.
That's where they're coming from.
Don't you see them? But Sen ignored him.
This guy wants to get trampled to death.

(13:27):
That's his choice. But I'm not going to let him
take me down with him. Sen reached the vine and began
to climb. In just a few seconds, he was
many feet above the air, safely above the Stampede heading their
way. But the man was struggling to
climb, even slowly. Sen neatly flipped onto the
plateau overlooking the valley. From his vantage point, he could

(13:48):
see that the Stampede was indeedas large as he had initially
observed, if not larger. He could see from here that a
couple of the mammal beasts looked hurt, although their
injuries were superficial. These were the angriest, and
we're running the fastest. The ragged man called up to Sen.
Hey, please pull me up. Sen looked down at the man and

(14:12):
examined his clothes, waiting just a second before responding.
The man said he had money. Is it true?
His clothes definitely cost him a lot, although they wouldn't
sell for much now. I wouldn't just let him die, but
if he thinks I don't care eitherway, he'll probably up my
reward. Sen looked down at the man,
feigning boredom. Oh, you can't get up.

(14:35):
He said, almost yawning. The man's eyes bulged.
What does it look like? Please man, I'm in distress.
Sen considered. What's it worth to you?
I'll give you as much money as you want.
Come on, I'm good for it, just help me out.
The mammal beasts were quickly approaching.
The dust clouds sent up by theirthundering hooves filled the

(14:58):
valley behind them and made it look like a giant wall was
rushing towards Zen and the stranger.
OK, friend, grab the vine and hold on.
The man nodded and gripped the vine as hard as he could.
Zen pulled on his end of the vine carefully so as not to jerk
it from the man's hands. He slowly lifted the vine off

(15:18):
the ground, his heels grinding into the rocky plateau and
threatening to lose traction andslide him off the edge.
The man swung gently around 10 feet off the ground when the
mammal beasts thundered under him.
As they pass beneath him, their eyes went wide and he could see
them glaring in animal fury. Due to the size of the herd and

(15:40):
the tremendous speed and force with which they ran, they
couldn't just stop or they'd cause a massive collision.
The man shook with fear and heldon for dear life while Sen did
all the work in pulling him up. Then the dust cloud hit them,
forcing both of them to close their eyes as darkness briefly
washed over them. But Sen couldn't stop pulling.

(16:03):
He knew that the man's strength would most likely not last long.
He was right. The man's grip was just short of
failing. When he was finally hoisted onto
the plateau. The man sprawled out and let out
a long, continuous grow. Mouser emerged from the pouch on
Sen's chest and padded up to theman's face, looking at a bloody

(16:24):
cut under his eye. The man giggled, then winced as
it started stinging. He waved away the cat beast,
which returned to Sen's side. Sen looked at the ragged man
warily. Along his travels he had come
across a few strangers, and while a couple of them were
friendly, most of them seemed more than happy to rob someone

(16:46):
they met as likely as greet them.
Just because this guy was down on his luck didn't mean he
wouldn't turn on Sen as soon as it was convenient.
What did you do to them? Sen asked, nodding his head in
the direction of the raging herdbeneath them.
Bad, bad luck. The man wheezed.

(17:07):
An unfortunate situation couldn't be helped.
Please, Sir, you have a match. Minor in my pack were in.
The man had, in his breathless stupor, produced a carton of
cigarettes and was preparing to smoke.
Sen had to laugh. Are you sure you should be doing
that? But the man only wheezed and

(17:29):
held out the pack. You take one too.
Sen looked down at the man's dirty hand.
His once manicured nails were now cake in mud and drying
blood. But between his fingers was a
pack of Schwarzwald cigarettes. Schwartz vaults.
Sen's eyes lit up. So this guy really is rich.

(17:52):
The man seemed to read his mind and smiled ruefully.
Go on, you and it. Sen got serious.
I earned more than that. The man laughed, clutching his
pained chest. He seemed to respect Sen's
moxie. You're right, you most certainly
did. Then let's just call it a start.

(18:14):
Sen had to admit that it wasn't a paltry first step, as a single
pack of these cigarettes cost more than 10,000 levo.
Sen took out a pack of matches and lit cigarettes for both of
them. As the ragged man smoked, he
seemed to greatly recover his energy.
His breathing slowed and miraculously he stood up on his

(18:35):
own accord and began to stretch, cigarettes still in his mouth.
Sen smoked his cigarette and found that the smoke didn't
irritate his lungs at all, but oddly seemed to increase their
capacity. The Schwartzvald tobacco was
something quite special and not easy to grow.
Most people would go their wholelives without tasting it.

(18:57):
You, my friend, are a lifesaver. The man said to Sen, patting
himself over, looking for injuries.
I think my whole body is 1 giantbruise.
I took a bad fall while running.Whole thing was a nasty
business. Couldn't be helped.
The man took a big inhale of smoke.

(19:17):
Name's Desmond Walker, and I'm mighty grateful.
He extended one hand for Sen to shake and took one final drag
with the other. As Sen shook his hand, the man
was already lighting a second cigarette, adeptly sparking a
match with one hand. Olson Hahn.
Glad I could help. The man smiled.

(19:40):
I'm sure you are. Don't worry, I told you I was
good for it. Well, it looks like it's going
to be a while, and I could use another moment to stretch out
after such an ordeal. How about we just stay up here
for a moment, get to know each other then?
Didn't want to spend too much time with this odd man if he
didn't have to. He had places to be and mutant

(20:03):
creatures to find. But the thought of a massive
payday felt too good to pass up,and despite himself, he found
the man amusing. The two got to talking and Sen
was quickly filled in on the particulars of Desmond's
unfortunate situation. Desmond was not rich.
He was unfathomably rich. He had arrived in God's

(20:27):
sanctuary with a fortune alreadyin hand and a very well
researched and practiced plan without to turn that fortune
into power as quickly and efficiently as possible.
His parents were extremely important industrialists and
they had hired consultants and coaches to help Desmond hit the
ground running. He had bought everything he

(20:47):
needed and on top of that he hired a large group of warriors
from his shelter to assist him whenever he wanted to hunt.
Sen had mixed feelings about this odd man.
Desmond wanted for nothing and had every advantage, but he
showed a level of determination not commonly seen in people from
his class. He truly seemed to want to

(21:10):
improve himself, and not just for the sake of his family.
He seemed to believe he could retroactively earn the gifts
that he was already given and obtain his own greatness with a
clean slate. This desire to prove that he was
worthy of his position led him to take on more ambitious
creatures. Sen could relate to Desmond's

(21:32):
ambition, and Desmond seemed to sense that he had found a sort
of kindred spirit in Sen He explained what he was doing all
the way out there. I had gathered my bond together
for a haunt. The Intel was from one of my
best informants, and it turned out to be true.
There was a sacred blood creature on the South Peak.

(21:52):
As expected, we had a whole planof attack designed by a master
tactician used to draw up battleplans for the military, and had
calculated the amount of force it would take to shoot the nasty
thing down. But as we fired the bows, a
heavy gust of wind shifted the trajectory.
Who could have seen it coming? The arrows went wide and started

(22:16):
an avalanche. They startled the mammoth beasts
and we were forced to abandon camp and run.
I lost my companion somewhere along the way.
Couldn't tell you how they are or where.
I do hope they made it back. Desmond suckled at his cigarette
pensively. Then he asked.
Hey Sen, how far away is our Glory shelter anyway?

(22:40):
Sen raised his eyebrows. Not my Glory shelter friend.
Desmond coughed on his smoke. You're joking.
Sen laughed and shook his head. Not joking.
I came from the Steel Armour shelter, although that's about
two weeks from here. Desmond groan.
I'm in range of another shelter. What an excursion.

(23:03):
I had no idea how far out I was going, but I guess it all blurs
together. Desmond had grown used to
relying on the resources of his shelter.
Very unlike scent. Desmond had an easy time buying
from the vendors in Glory Shelter and had inside access to
information on New Mutant and Sacred Blood creatures.

(23:25):
Money only took you so far, Connections were how you
capitalized on it. In a way, networking was to cash
what hyper Geno arts were to Geno points.
But Desmond was not the type of person to stay in a bad mood for
long. He quickly recovered his cheer
and was smiling again in no time, puffing away on his

(23:46):
cigarette. No matter, all will be right as
rain soon. Speaking of rain Sen, can I see
a water flask? Sen smiled at the question.
It was time for him to make somemoney.
Can Sen really trust this guy? Will he shift his path towards S
to hunt those valuable beasts? Or is this a trap crafted for

(24:08):
Sen by this stranger? To find out what happens next,
