In fact, I can show you alittle bit of the screen we have
set up for you.
It's going to look somethinglike this, with all the

as we get the updates.

our YouTube channel and you willsee us come on and we will
update as the night goes on andkeep you informed of all the
local races.
So let's see how that works.

the show.
So please make sure you send in.
When you get that word, send anemail to us at
(02:35):

card for next week.
We also put up a candidatevideo for Constantine Anthony,
the only incumbent running forre-election, and Mike Van Gorder
, who has just moved to Berwickrecently and has some unique
views.
So please check out those twovideos before election day,
(02:56):
before tomorrow.
Let's get on to last week.
So last week the city councilmeeting had a public hearing on
cell towers and you have to feelbad for the people who appealed
the approval of the cell toweron Main Street.
Hey, I get it.
It may be a health situation, and the last studies done by the
federal government were in 1996, and they said there were no
(03:20):
issues.
Well, probably not 30 years ago, and none of these studies were
also about the 5G systems.
Once again, it is the higherbody dictating to Burbank what
they can and cannot do.
Let's go back to the housingproject being built on Empire
Seven stories and seven parkingplaces and Burbank completely
had their hands tied anddevelopers came to the city
(03:43):
council meeting and basicallysnubbed their noses at the
council.
The same thing happened here, with the cell phone antenna
company basically coming in andtying the city tough taco.
The federal laws were on theirside.
Well, that's great, but doesthat make it right?
In the end, the council had nochoice but to side with the
tower and they said they willstart a dialogue with higher
(04:04):
elected officials.
All I can say is good luck withthat.
Nothing will happen and no onewill care.
Only Constantine Anthony wasalone to vote against it and, in
all honesty, if you would havevoted for it I mean if the Moore
council members had votedagainst it and they denied it
we'd be stuck in a lawsuit, likewe did with the Pickwick
(04:25):
Project, when people listened totheir constituents and tried to
be on their side and all it didwas cost the city a half
million dollars.
And guess what?
Pickwick is gone and condos aregoing up.
So you know what?
It's just too bad that outsideinfluences can control Burbank
(04:47):
so much.
Basically, that's it Anyhow, moving on here.
Wednesday the Dodgers becameworld champions.
What a great game, what a greatcomeback.
The only really sad part ofthat is now baseball's over for
four months.
What am I?
We gonna watch every night?
Gonna miss my dodger games, gonna miss oral herschizer and
(05:10):
joe davis.
Gonna miss the games.
But you know what, being achampion, we can live with that
for about four months, and itwas amazing to hear otani
actually speak at the parade.
So that was great.
Friday saw the big game andBurbank beating Burroughs 42-21.
Burbank came in second in thePacific League and will travel
(05:32):
to Monrovia who came in secondin their league in a battle of
the old Foothill League teamsfrom 40 years ago.
Burroughs, which tied for thirdwith Pasadena and Crescenta
Valley, saw their season come toan end.
Evenena and Crescenta Valleysaw their season come to an end
even though both CrescentaValley and Pasadena advanced to
the playoffs.
So you tell me what that's allabout.
(05:53):
I guess the way the SanFrancisco Division is now, there
were no large spots in whatdivision Burroughs was in but
the other two teams, so threeteams tied for third in Pacific
League.
Two went, one didn't't?
Bros was an odd man out, Iguess.
Anyhow, that's it for the weekthat was, and stand, stand by
(06:14):
for a little commercial andwe'll be back with the week that
will be enjoying the show.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
right now, thinking
you may want to do your own
podcast.
Vibrate talks is renting outour podcast studio on an hourly
rate.
You can do audio podcasts orboth audio and video, and even
bring in guests to talk with.
We will help you get set up onpodcast platforms and start a
YouTube channel, and we can edityour productions to make you
look and sound your very best.
(06:40):
If you are arrested, pleasedrop us an email at
studiorentalsatmyburbankcom.
That'sstudiorentalsatmyburbankcom, and
we will get back to you.
Now back to our show.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yes, yes, I know, I
know.
Are you happy that it's halfover or are you just happy that
we're going to get on with theshow here?
I'm not sure what it is.
Anyhow, back to the week thatwill be this is Craig Scherr
with you.
And on Monday tonight there isan Art in Public Places
committee meeting that will takeplace at 6 pm at the Community
(07:17):
Services Building.
They're going to talk about thepublic art financials and
deferred art projects update.
Also, johnny Carson Park benchdonation staff will provide the
committee with an update on thepending bench donation at Johnny
Carson Park.
And talking about Johnny CarsonPark, the Shade Structure
(07:38):
Project, capital ImprovementProject, budget increase Staff
will provide an update onadditional funding For the
Johnny Carson Park ShadeStructure Project.
The committee recommends thatthe staff request Additional
$150,000.
In funding for this project.
So Hopefully it's going to behigh rent shade Anyhow.
(08:01):
Also, the Landlord TenantCommission will meet at 615 at
the Community Services Building.
They're going to get anoverview of feedback on the Rent
Cap Outreach, subpoena Powerand the Subpoena Power of Boards
and Commissions and they'regoing to have some I found this
very, very strange andcommissions and they're going to
have some.
Now, this is really, I foundthis very, very strange.
One of the things they're goingto talk about is that 19 East
(08:23):
Daily Drive, number 284 inBurbank, california, 93010, for
a mediation request.
Well, here's the issue there isno such address in Burbank.
In fact, that zip code is inCamarillo.
Who is checking on this inadvance?
But they will be actuallytalking about it at 317 North
(08:45):
Hollywood Way, and the issue ischange of terms of tenancy and
tenant rights questions, as wellas 331 West Spazier, where the
landlord plans to sell theproperty and the tenant requests
mediation for more time to moveout.
Come on, be a nice person, givethe guy a little more time.
Huh, ah, tuesday, okay, tuesdayis election.
(09:09):
Wait, did I say election?
That's right.
And that's the word of the week, actually, the word of the
decade, I hope.
And that's the word of the week, actually, the word of the
decade, at least the word of theyear, and that, of course, is
election.
So send an email to news atmyburbankcom and put in the
(09:29):
contest at myburbankcom and putin the subject line election and
send in your name and youraddress and we'll put you into
the drawing for this week's giftcard.
So back we go.
Tuesday is election night votevote.
Did I say vote, vote?
(09:50):
Hopefully you already voted.
I actually do my mail in ballotand I did send it in on Friday.
And it was pretty cool Becauseon Saturday at 1.40 in the
morning I got a text saying thepost office has received your
ballot and on Sunday around 2 inthe afternoon I got one that
says my ballot has been acceptedat the county registrar and has
(10:13):
been counted.
So that's pretty quick.
I would like to get, get andsend it in before the actual
election, but I wait as long asI can in case something happens
I need to make a adjustment on.
But you know what everybody Ivoted for I still voted for.
Uh, as an independent I wentall across the board and a lot
(10:33):
of issues, a lot of things.
So we'll see how that comes out.
We will attempt to go live onTuesday with an election results
show starting at 8pm.
It's going to be on YouTubeonly.
We will stay on for a whileuntil we get results, especially
our local offices and measures.
So might be a long night andI'm ready for it.
(10:57):
Tuesday also, the City Councilis dark, but not dark on Tuesday
is the Burbank AthleticFederation and they will meet at
6pm at the Community ServicesBuilding.
They're going to talk aboutyouth, sports, transgender and
the athletic policy and they'regoing to update their Capital
Project Party List update.
They're going to update yourcapital project priority list
(11:19):
update.
They're going to have an updateon Sears softball age
requirements and a discussion onnon-resident player
participation, as well as boardmember recruitment update.
I wish they would post theirreports and their minutes on
their agendas so they do notrecord their meetings and there
is no way to know what is goingon unless you show up to the
(11:39):
meeting itself, because theydon't even post their minutes
online.
So how are you really supposedto keep up with them?
The city is lacking, definitelylacking, in this category.
Wednesday, the Civil ServiceBoard meets at 4.30 pm at City
Hall.
One of the items is for afireman who is appealing his
(12:00):
performance examination for theposition of fire engineer.
That's the guy who drives theengine of the truck and operates
it during the fire Staffrecommends that they deny his
appeal.
Hey staff, why don't you juststay out of it?
Why are you putting anypreconceived notion in their
heads?
Let them hear the appeal andmake their own minds up.
Hey staff, why don't you juststay out of it.
Why are you putting apreconceived notion in their
heads?
Let them hear the appeal andmake their own minds up.
(12:21):
This is really advancedprejudice that will be in their
heads.
No reason for it.
So you know, I get it.
You want to have your opinion, but we know that.
You know why are you having anappeal if you're telling them
what to do?
Not good, not good at all.
Don't put the preconceivednotions in their heads.
Let them hear the appeal.
(12:43):
Give the guy a chance.
The Youth Board returns with a 6pm meeting at the Community
Services Building on Wednesdayand on Thursday the Burbank
Water and Power Board will bemeeting at 5 pm at the Water and
Power building.
One of the reports they will begetting is an update on
Burbank's Water and Power'scustomer solar program,
(13:06):
introduction of a solar netbilling program.
The school board will meet at 6pm at City Hall, so that's if
you want to check out.
Their agenda is packed with aton of stuff.
The Heritage Commission willmeet at 530 at the Community
Services Building.
No agenda has been posted as ofyet, so we really can't tell
you what they're going to betalking about.
Also, on Thursday, the BurbankHigh Baseball Team will be
(13:28):
celebrating veterans in aceremony at 530 pm at the
Burbank High Baseball Field.
Everyone is invited and allveterans are encouraged to come
Be recognized.
Our veterans are our mostimportant asset and we need to
make sure we never take you outof our minds.
On Friday the Burbank CultureArts Commission Spaces Committee
(13:51):
will meet at 1 pm at theCommunity Services Building and
that takes us to the weekend andon Saturday at the Farmer's
Market on Glen Oaks and Olive.
The Burbank Farmer's Market isadding a new feature a food
scrap drop-off site.
La Compost will be setting upto collect fruit and vegetable
food scraps from 8 am to 12 pmeach Saturday at the Burbank
(14:15):
Fires Market located in Oliveand Glen Oaks.
Come by and drop off your foodscrap waste and learn about
composting.
There will also be anotherkitten fair at the animal
shelter from 10 am to 2 pm andthere will be a pop-up community
event with Metro from 11.30 to2.30 pm outside the entrance of
(14:35):
the Buena Vista Library.
So talking about the bus, theBRT so it's part of the upcoming
North Hollywood Pasadena RapidTransit Line Metro is developing
a first last mile plan toimprove multi-model access to
four stations along the BRTcorridor.
The station identified in thecity of Burbank for this
(14:56):
planning effort is at Olive andRiverside, so come and listen
and talk about what's going onthere.
I don't think this is about thesingle lane use on Olive.
This is more about the stationlocation at Olive and Riverside.
So come by and see what that'sall about.
That only leaves us now withCraig's comment and my comment.
I hope this is notcontroversial, but who knows how
(15:21):
with our today's society, andit's very simple.
My comment is vote.
The election is tomorrow, without a doubt, one of the most
important presidentialelections we've had in a very
long time, and while Californiareally has no say-so in the
election or you don't have anindividual vote because of the
(15:42):
electoral college system, california's votes will go to
the Democrat.
I really wish it'd be one vote, one person, where our votes
would go into the winner withthe most votes wins.
Hey, there's a concept whoevergets the most votes wins, but no
(16:03):
, we don't do it that way.
So, for president at VictoriaCollege, there are things going
on down the line to change thatmaybe, but for right now that is
our system.
It's too bad because all themoney goes into.
You know the candidates come toCalifornia.
They use it as an ATM and theytake the money out of California
and go spend it in the sevenstates that are swing states and
(16:26):
they get all that money and allthat advertising.
So what do we get here inCalifornia?
Well, it's already kind ofpre-decided, so I don't know.
I just think one person, onevote for president, like we do
for every other elected office,is a good idea.
But that aside, voting isimportant.
Voting for city council isimportant.
(16:47):
Voting for city council isimportant.
Voting for the school districtpeople is important.
Weigh in on measure ABC.
Okay, I'm not going to tell youhow I voted on that, but read
it, understand it, see if itworks for you, see if it doesn't
work for you.
I mean, while it's good for ourschools, is it bad for your
(17:08):
pocketbook?
There's all kinds ofconsiderations that you have to
look at.
That's why it's a measure ofthe peoples.
A lot of other propositions outthere too, but the bottom line
is voting is not your right.
It's what you should be doingas a how should I put it?
(17:30):
It is your mandate.
Everybody needs to vote Ifyou're going to sit there and
complain about anything In oursociety.
And you didn't take the time tovote, shut your mouth, okay,
Shut your mouth, okay, shut yourmouth.
If you vote and you know yourside doesn't win, for whatever
(17:52):
it is, or your position doesn'twin, accept it, move on.
But at least then you have theright to say something Because
you voted.
We are, we're going to have atleast one new city council
member.
We may have two, so it's reallyimportant that you decide the
(18:17):
future Burbank.
It's too bad.
The school district went todistricts, which means that
three-fifths of our city is notvoting for anybody.
That's really a sad situation.
Hopefully that you know we hada podcast which means that
three-fifths of our city is notvoting for anybody.
That's really a sad situation.
Hopefully we had a podcast withEmily and hopefully we're going
(18:38):
to do something to the schooldistrict to go back to regular
districts, and the city councilis moving on with their lawsuit,
which we should be informed of,about going to districts.
So the bottom line is I knowI'm ranting, I get it, but to me
it's so important.
It's so important you take thetime to vote.
(18:59):
They make it so easy.
You can just fill it out athome, like you'd pay your credit
card and put it in the mail, oryou can go and put it on a site
, or you can go on Tuesday andvote at a location.
You can go vote early if youwant to, but you've got to vote,
you've got to vote.
You know we can't have just 40,50, 60% of people voting.
(19:21):
We need 100% of people voting.
If not, shut your mouth, don'tcomplain.
Okay, it's the one thing youcan do to make a difference, and
you never know what's going tocome down to a couple votes,
especially in our local election.
It could come down to a vote ortwo.
(19:44):
We're talking about a smallersampling.
In a city council election, inMeasure ABC, which is the
percentage of the vote, or inthe school district votes, it
can come down to just a couplevotes.
So your vote is important.
Even if you want to vote forthe national stuff, even if you
(20:04):
want to vote for state stuff, vote for local stuff.
You don't have to vote foreverything.
And let's face it, who knowsthese judges?
There's judges on the ballot.
What do you know about thesejudges?
These people are running forjudge and yet we vote for them,
like we know what we're doingand I'm as guilty as anybody
else of just trying to figureout which president's job do.
(20:28):
I like to give that guy achance.
That's a terrible way of doingit, but, being honest, anyhow,
that's my comment.
Please get out and vote, please, please, please, get your vote
in, alrighty, and please, onceagain, do not forget to
subscribe and like this video.
And please, once again, do notforget to subscribe and like
(20:49):
this video and please, as always, consider that membership to
this MyBurbank YouTube channelto keep us going so we can keep
bringing you this content.
That's it for another week.
We will see you on tomorrownight starting at 8pm with our
election coverage and hopefullywe won't have any bugs and it'll
(21:10):
go off.
Okay, this is going to be ourfirst really live event we're
ever.
Going to try and we'll see howit works.
For future things, I would liketo eventually start putting
this show on live also, butwe'll see.
But tomorrow night we will begoing live at 8 o'clock.
We're going to have a commentthing set up so you can send
your comments in during the show.
We'll try to respond to them aswe can and make it interactive.
(21:34):
So that's it for another week.
For the week that was the weekthat will be.
This is Craig Sherwood.
Once again, thank you forwatching or listening in your
cars on the podcast channels, orlaying there in bed at night
and listening.
I probably put you to sleepalready listening in your cars
on the podcast channels, orlaying there in bed at night and
