Traditional archery seems to be growing in popularity as more and more hunters yearn for stepping back in time and pursuing deer in much the same way our ancestors once did. Like most new pursuits though, getting started can seem daunting, and initial bad experiences can lead to giving up prematurely. On this episode of Deer Season 365, wildlife biologist, author, and lifelong conservationist Ron Rohrbaugh joins NDA’s Nick Pinizzotto to talk about his personal traditional archery journey. He shares stories about his first hunts as a trad hunter and offers some excellent advice for people considering taking the plunge into the world of hunting with longbows and recurves. Also discussed is the amazing camaraderie among trad hunters and how the community is always willing to lend a hand to newcomers.
