Sean Murphy and Kelly La Croix in conversation with Nahuel Fanjul-Agruijo about launching their first Kickstarter, and all the thrills and spills that come with it.
Sean was born in Billings Montana, he has worked as an Editor for TV and Film since the early 2000’s. S.M was fortunate to begin reading comics in the mid 1980’s when some of the greats were changing the medium which was foundational in his lifelong study of narrative. Most recently he has co-founded Ominous Powers Ink with his best friend Kelly La Croix. S.M. lives in Portland with his wife; they spend their days making mead, gardening, and cycling (though not as far or often as they should).
Kelly is a writer, musician, and ½ of Ominous Powers Ink, a comic book imprint and story universe shared with his best friend of 30 years. He has held a long series of menial jobs that have given him the time to stay creative while informing his sensibilities; whether he was cleaning toilets, inhaling hazardous solvents, or handling dead animals, he understood that this necessary work was always secondary to his personal Work. He currently performs slightly less menial tasks for a public media organization and lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, son, and yellow lab.
