Neurobirth Podcast

Neurobirth Podcast

Bronwyn and Amy are two neurodivergent midwives who are dedicated to improving the childbearing experience for all neurodivergent families. In this seven-episode podcast series we will explore the childbearing journey through a neurodivergent lens, in particular a lens informed by ADHD and Autism. We hope that by demystifying the particular sensory and communication differences of neurodivergent persons during what can be a period of immense transition and transformation, we can affect change in their experience of perinatal care, starting from pre-conception to the first weeks of parenting. This series provides useful, empowering information for neurodivergent people in any stage of their pregnancy and early parenting journey, as well as their support network of family, friends and midwives wanting to enhance the care they provide. Midwives working in New Zealand can claim time spent listening and reflecting on the podcast series as part of their Continuing Education requirements for the Midwifery Council’s Recertification Programme.
