Governor Phil Murphy toured storm damage in Berkeley Heights after severe flooding devastated parts of Union and Somerset counties Monday night. Murphy called the storms "crushing," noting the two deaths in Plainfield and a house explosion in North Plainfield. He warned more storms could bring additional challenges this week but said none appear as severe as Monday's. Cleanup and damage assessments are underway across the region.
Police say a body was discovered on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River back on July 4th. Crews were called to an area between Pohatcong Township, and Williams Township on the Pennsylvania side.
Detective Jennifer Grob of the Toms River Township Police Department has retired. She began her law enforcement career with the Rutgers University Police Department in 1998 and joined Toms River in 2001.
