Good morning, everyone. Today is July 31, 2025, we’re covering four key headlines, from natural events to global policy shifts. Let’s dive in.

1: A tsunami advisory for California’s Central and Southern coastlines was lifted Wednesday after a powerful earthquake off Russia caused minor waves but no significant damage.

2: Mark Zuckerberg says AI superintelligence is close, promising a new era of personal empowerment through advanced technology.

3: President Trump imposed a 50% tariff on semi-finished copper products, effective August 1, 2025, to protect U.S. industry after a national security review.

4: Canada will recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September, joining France and Britain, as Gaza’s humanitarian crisis worsens. Trump warned Canada that its support for Palestine will make a trade deal very hard.

So let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, 

We thank You for Your sovereignty over all creation. We praise You for protecting California’s coastlines from tsunami harm and ask for continued safety for those communities. Guide the development of AI. There is both anxiety and excitement over the technology. Many are worried about job loss. We pray that tech Companies and lawmakers do the right thing, that AI may serve humanity for good and not ruin or worsen it. We pray for thoughtful AI regulation to protect minors, and for AI to open up new and creative employment opportunities instead of mass displacement.

Grant wisdom to President Trump and leaders making economic decisions, like the copper tarrif, that their policies would foster fair and just outcomes. 

Lord, we also pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as scripture instructs us. We also lift up Gaza’s suffering people—provide aid, comfort, and hope amid crisis. As Canada, France, and Britain move to recognize a Palestinian state, guide nations, leaders, including Trump, and specifically that region toward empathy, peace, and reconciliation.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
