Speaker 1 (00:00):
I need some help here, so I had to call
in the reinforcements. We go to the guest line. Now,
welcome in a familiar face and voice on this station,
someone that is no stranger to the game or pro baseball.
Omar Viz Scale Form a shortstop probably most notable in
the Cleveland Guardians. Lord, he's in the Hall of Fame.
Brother's a three time all start, eleven time goal Glover.

(00:22):
Appreciate you dropping by Omar to help me. How are
you feeling this morning?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Brother? Hellos down? How you doing? I'm not good.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
I'm not good. I start with what took place yesterday
over at minute may Park. Omar, I struggle with this.
Is it as simple as you just tip your cap
to school Ball He's excellent and you just move on
and get put your energy and attention into game two?
Or did the Astros let one get away yesterday? No?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I mean sometime you have to take your cap to
the only picture we all knew. Everybody that's a baseball
fan know that the Astros was a tough assignment for
them to face. Who I think is gonna be the
Sidon pitcher this year for the American League.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Scoobo was unbelievable. He throwed the ball real well. His
fastball wars clock at ninety nine. You know a few times.
His lighter was amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
The change was working, everything working for this guy, and
he proved one more time that he is the best
in the American League.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Uh, the Astros couldn't get going. They only got four
guys on base.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
They got a couple of rallies going in the beginning
of the game, but really they couldn't get.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
To School or who got the best of yesterday? At
the game?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
All right? In I am I off base with thinking
with expecting Framburgh to be the best version of himself
going up against School was not like Framberg's chopped liver,
so to speak, and like, at some point, can can
he compete at the highest level to give the Astros

(02:01):
better batting lineup and opportunity? Does that make you understand
when I'm asking why did not see a good friend
but yesterday?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Well he didn't have his best off yesterday.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I mean you can tell in the beginning of the
game he was lifting the ball open the strike song.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
You know, the Tigers got a Kate approach against him.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
They didn't pull the ball, They went the other way
they stay in the middle of the field, and you know,
in this playoff game, you have to stay away from
the biginnings. They rally three runs in, you know, in
one of the innings, and obviously that was different on
the game, but you have to be able to to
make pitches and to try to get off the jam,

(02:41):
and he didn't do that yesterday, and that's how they
pay with those three runs.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
All right, here they go, Astros. You've been in these games,
I presume elimination games. Astros have been doing this. What
is this? Eight consecutive postseason trips now nine of the
last ten years, winners of the v in the last
four years in a row. What do you believe the
mindset is of a spot up, more so the players,

(03:07):
given what we know about this team as the lineup
is out today, Well.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
The players know there is no tomorrow. They have to
win this game. And they've been in this situation before.
They know how to play these type of games.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I believe the Astros are gonna come over the top today.
We Hunter Brown and the man who has been the
best pitcher for the second half of the season, and
I believe the Astros are gonna come through you know,
Holton is a good pitcher. He pitched yesterday. He threw
a few pitches and you know, a j. Hinch has
been doing a great job handling the half in.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
The last month of the season.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
We all know the kind of record that the Tigers have,
and they have a very very good record on the
second half, and this is the way they've been playing
bold you know, all this last month of the season,
they whoever is available, whoever is a matchup for the
other guy, that's the guy that he's going to bring
to pitch.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
So he's very familiar with this time of games too.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
You know, he did a great joub Jester. They're pulling
out the closer on Foley. He didn't see something right there,
and he didn't wait to bring another guy. He came up, brisky,
came up to close the game. And that's the way
they have been pitching. That's the way that they've been
playing ball. So this Tigers team is a very dangerous team.

(04:27):
And they got the ball rolling. And I believe, I'm
a big believer.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
That momentum is very good.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
The Tigers have that going and they astro have to
play the best game today to kind of take the
series to Detroit and win it.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
All right, talk with Omar Viscale brothers, three time All Star,
eleven time Gold Glove winner joining us here Houston residence,
and we value his baseball opinion around these parts. I
just thought of this just then. When you see a closer,
do you think it was wise for a spotter to
go to Josh Hater yesterday?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, you have to keep you know, the score close.
You know every time that you have the opportunity to
bring the best guys to keep the game closed, you
have to do that. And obviously Hater has thrown back
to back games, so you know there is no reason
not to bring it. And you know that that was
a good, a good decision. But remember stand in these games,

(05:21):
not only the players got the best way to finish
the game, the managers decision have a lot to do
with the.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Final result of the game.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Espata have to be Ryan on top of his game
to not to make a mistake on.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Changing pictures, the same way with Aja Hinch.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You know it worked for Hinge yesterday, but sometimes these
things can really affect the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
All right, last one, it's what is that bottom of
the ninth runners on first and third no outs, Jeremy
Pina lays down a bunch. Many people are asking what
Joe Spotter was thinking there? What does your expert tell
you about Penia bunting in that situation?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Good calling on well, I.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Think that was a personal decision on Penia. I don't
think he really got designed on bunning.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I don't know. I didn't hear the interviews, but.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
You know, Penya was struggling throughout the game. I think
he struck out three times previously to that. He wasn't
seeing the ball well and maybe he tried to give
his team a chance to tie the game. I mean,
it's a personal decision. I think I think I would
rather seen him hit hitting the ball on that situation.
And that's the way the Astro has been playing ball

(06:36):
all year round two, so you don't see this play
very often. And sometimes, you know, those Bond players can
get you into trouble the fielding position, maybe off balance,
they make a bad throw and maybe they got a
rally going there.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
But that didn't happen on that situation. Everybody was ready
for the.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Bond and uh, you know, it don't matter of just
trusting yourself and making that.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Play all right, gets you out of here on this one.
Like you have the Astros winning this series. The other
al series Royals b Orioles one zero in Baltimore, who
do you have winning that series?

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Another dramatic series, and you know this is the drama
about playoff games. Stand that we you know, we have
to throw the numbers out of the windows.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
You gotta play the best game. You gotta play the
guys that are really on the top of the game.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
You know, you can see the Kansas City Royals, you know,
against the Baltimore team that's supposed to be the favorite,
and now they are against the world tools. They're gonna
come out over the top. Kansas City is another team
that played really good baseball the last couple of weeks
and we're talking about momentum here.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
They got one of the best pitcher.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
On Dragons one nothing game. This is the war of
short stops.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
You know, Bobby Witt Junior.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Who have the the the only run of the game
against Gonderson, who is one of the favorite shortstops in
Major League.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So an exciting series two.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
I see Baltimore also coming back today on winning that game.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
All right, that's the time that we have the great
Omar Viscal kind enough to join us to talk about
the yl performance by the Astros yesterday. We'll see what
Game two has to offer, as well as the other
wildcard series again Royals one zero yesterday versus the Baltimore
O's Follow him, won't you? At viscale Omar thirteen on

(08:28):
social We appreciate it again, Omar, enjoy your baseball today.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Thank Youstan, I really appreciate it all right, take care
